Rustic microbrewery offering a diverse list of its house beers, plus live music some nights.
Wonderful microbrewery. Cool relaxed atmosphere. Board games available. Beer to buy to drink or buy to bring.
Nice choice of beers. Tried and loved Munchen and Tanaisie. Hubby tried and loved Colborne.
They even have a little store where one can acquire t-shirts, sweats and other branded clothing and accessories.

Very good beers and I mean quality. Great views as well.

The place is fun. Their beer is good and the food. The place can get crowded so if you don’t like crow this is not your place. The food was good for a microbrasserie but they closed the kitchen early. I took the shrimp pizza and was delicious 😋

Terrific beer and fun destination! Excellent music, great gift shop, and be certain to visit their bakery next door. Best baguettes I've had in many years! Hope to be back someday

Known for its choice of beers, good for late bite, not much of main meal choices.
Their menu is not as advertised as on the website- please refer to the restaurant menu.
Staff friendly and very efficient.
Bathroom is clean and over all we had a good time.

Great food with good vegetarian options. Great beer too!
It is a must visit place when you travel to Gaspé. You will know more about local history which has many surprising facts you would not expect. I would recommend reading all the materials presented in the museum. It is also a very beautiful place, great architecture and a very interesting park with historical monuments and public art surrounding the museum. I would also take a walk along the shore if the weather is nice.
In any case, it is a great stop if you are on the holidays on the peninsula.

Reservation required. This little museum is a bit suprising with its presentations. They used holographic imageries and the laser 4k projectors to make the contents more interesting for audience.

There was a lot of amazing Canadian history to be found here! Lots of early Quebecois knowledge, and history. Mentions of First Nations, French, English, and Vikings which is fascinating. VR video experience of early fishing, as well as many other ways to second hand experience the fishing industry of early Canada.

Must visit to see the history of Gaspese. Beautiful visuals, stunning audio video and interactive media to bring the story alive. And a store to help buy local made artifacts. Great location, status and garden with more art displays.

A good place to learn about the history of Gaspè, first nation's, French & English, their contributions to people and economy. It is a clean but small museum. There is an entry ticket, fortunately the day we wnt, it was free.

Good place to explore the history of the area and different cultures and how they are evolved, their initial struggles etc.
Due to covid they managed very well, not a lot of people at a time at one place. Sanitizers and gloves provided on spot.

Forillon National Park is a scenic coastal park that offers various activities such as hiking, camping, fishing and water sports. The park boasts stunning views of huge coastal cliffs with potential wildlife encounters including seals in the water. Visitors can also enjoy the interactive center which is suitable for all ages. However, there may be long waiting times to purchase souvenirs due to slow service from clerks who prefer chatting with clients over serving them.
Breathtaking views! Definitely a must visit national park if you are in the region! Amazing stunning huge coastal cliffs! A lot of potential wildlife encounters! We also got to see seals in the water from on top! The trail “Bout du Monde” or “Land’s End” is a must do!

Highly recommend it's ready to camp facilities and services, hassle free as everything you need for camping is provided, all you need is to bring your own sleeping bags.
I enjoyed the most splendid night sky in my life saw so many stars, milky way is viewable to naked eyes and I even saw a shooting star, lucky me it is first ever in my life!
Also recommend watching the sun-rise at the beach, pls do not miss the opportunity to hike all the way to the Land's end lookout!

We camped here for several days and were very impressed. A standout highlight among many on a 19 day swing through the province. Superb interpretation and facilities. More than worthy of being known as a "National Park." I really appreciated that the expropriated residents were included in the park interpretation. We camped here and thought that the facilities were excellent and great value.

This is now one of my favorite national parks in all of Canada. We camped for three nights in an Otentik and explored the area during the day. Facilities were all brand new and shiny, and there was plenty of staff. This is definitely worth a road trip again.

Beautiful park! Stopped for a visit by chance as we were going through to Perce and we have a discovery pass already and we thoroughly enjoyed it! saw the other reviews about the wildlife but didn’t think we would actually see it ourselves but jokes on us, 10 minutes into our first hike, there was a mama bear and 2 Cubs eating a few feet off path. Never seen a bear up so close, felt pretty vulnerable. We decided to wait from a distance to see if they would move along but after about 15 minutes they hadn’t moved so we turned back. Decided to go do some other things in the park and come back later. We did the boardwalk on the south side, small fort beside it, and le chute waterfall hike, then came back to attempt the walk out to the eastern point again. Didn’t run into the bear family again but ran into some moose. Lots of friendly people warning us or what they were seeing on the way in. Stunning park overall with some great views! I only wish they had the bathrooms open. I feel like park service should be based on temperature and presence of snow rather than a set date. There were park employees all over. Why couldn’t the washroom be open.

Great place for great things to do. Trials, beach, whale watch and many other things to do. Very beautiful place. Two entrances, North and South. Mont Saint Albert trial is the best. You can see the top tower from down and climb up and see the spectacular 360 degree view. You you drive further to 132 you will see the light house also.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in my life. It’s really worth it to spend some days there.
The interactive center is also a must! Great fun for all ages.
Down side: we wanted to buy souvenirs but after waiting for 30 min in the line, we gave up. We were the nexts in the line. There were 2 clerks but they just decided to chat with their clients FOR EVER. Shame!

Beautiful! We had a great campsite and at 5:30am when the campsite is completely quiet, I heard whales! Same on the beach at midnight! We also saw tons of seals!
We swam in the ocean...it was cold but needed to be done. To the national park: please add a heat source to the ocean to make it swimable. As for the wildlife, please make sure the chipmunks stay away. Geez. 😉
We enjoyed this clean park and it was beautiful. Thank you.
Ms Elsbeth Reads — Google review
The landscape is stunning and the day use pass is definitely worth the drive and money. The campsites were not comfortably or thoughtfully designed. Each site is stacked on top of one another, services and trash are not conveniently located, their services center has cheese and wine (for picnics) but no butter, oil, or eggs for campers— and it feels like a drive through park. Definitely bring your own portable water.

Our family visited this park on Jul 4 and did a hike to cap-Gaspé trail. It is an 8km hike with elevation. It's absolutely worth the effort! Mesmerizing views of water, mountains, and trees. Picture can not depict the actual beauty of the view.
In the end, when we reached Le bout du monde (Light tower), we were able to see whale in the middle of Ocean and seals at the shore. That was quite a view!

The pass for the park is valid for 24 hours and eligible for multiple points and entry. Cap bon ami was the best point of attraction. Multiple points to visit with various activities at visitor center. Ample of parking spaces and washrooms are everywhere. Didn’t went on hike at bon ami because people returning back mentioned that it was very steep.

Nice easy hikes and views. Went there 2 days in a row. Unfortunately, first day was really foggy, but paths are well maintained and feel more like a nature walk than a hike.

I’ve been to a couple of campground across Ontario, this was my first time with Parc Canada and it’s been great. The accommodations to go wash yourself are extremely clean. There’s stations to do your dishes the campgrounds are nice with enough trees to properly set up a tarp even in the worst weather. I love this parc and I will go again!
Gab Kn — Google review
Saw some humpback whales in the distance from the point with the lighthouse. Too far to see much without binoculars or a telephoto lens other than their water spouts.
Trails in the park are fairly standard with no wow factor except for the ones woth views of the coast.
Fogged in when I went to cap-bon-ami for the guided bird watching. The English guide was quite good explaining the various birds they have in the park.
Didn't try any of the food at the rec center but the laundry room is open 24hrs there and at the visitor center.
Visitor center exhibits were standard perhaps a but better than some other parks. The video was top notch though showcasing the park and wildlife.

Cime Aventures is an incredible camping destination, offering a variety of unique lodging options such as cozy lodges on stilts, cottages, teepees and yurts. This eco-conscious campground features isolated campsites with or without electricity. Its kayaking down the river is a must-try activity that comes with wet suits for colder weather conditions. The place provides an awesome experience even towards the end of the season when it's less crowded.
Wow!!! Such an amazing place. We did Canoe with family in the river. Crystal clear water and you can see through the ground. Completely safe to descending the river. They give all safety precautions which we need to follow. One of the amazing/must thing to do in Bonaventure. Enjoyed a lot!!! You have an option for 10 KM or 20 KM. It takes about 2-4 hours depends up on the break time etc…!!! The cost is also pretty decent. We did not do camp.

Friendly team working there and super nice guides. Just a disclaimer, take the cancellation ensurance and ask 24 to 48 hours about the water level. They won't tell you until you're there and you'll get the surprise of your life if the water level is too high due to recent rain. You won't see much of what's showing in the ads and pictures. It's still beautiful, and the adrenaline will flow through, but the nice calm, clear water, you won't see anything of it.

We had sooooo much fun! Loved the Friday merchants market and concert. Definitely recommend the kayak adventure! Would return any time! Pet friendly!!

Awesome place. Amazing camping with lots of varieties of lodging. They have an eco-conscious atmosphere. With campgrounds that are isolated with and without electricity. We had the electricity option to heat our van during the night. It was cold in September so a good heater is a must. I must say that we went towards the end of the season. So.our experience was good because it wasn't as crowded.
The kayaking down the river is definitely the highlight. We took the "popular" option and had an awesome time. They provide wet suits when it's colder.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.

Really nice camping but the cabins are so hot! There is only a little window in the door that opens but there’s no air flow at all 🥲. I wish there was a ceiling fan or something

We descended the river with Cime Aventure and their guides. They offer important insight on how to navigate with ease the rapids. Super clean river with crystal water. The team really implements keeping the river intact and being courteous with the fishermen that we might cross as it is not uncommon to see floats of salmon.
We stayed the night on their land and trust me, you cannot ask for more. Super children and pet friendly. It’s nice to see a clean place like this and seeing people being a good spirits. The owners were super welcoming and shed insight on their mission and company history. They explained to us how it was all created. Alsooooo they are environmentally conscious - they re-use their water for showers and bathrooms.
A must see / go-to for everyone!

Overall very disapointed with my stay and experience with cime aventures. I had heard good reviews from people but my experience was very different.
First let's talk about the tipi accomodation.
they seem to have taken down a lot of the picture from their website now, but while we booked, they had done a very nice job of marketing their tipi,
They were showing off pretty and clean tipi with nice glass patio door and with indoor fireplace.
The tipi we arrived to was very different, the indoor fireplace had been taken out, fully removed leaving only a part of the old chimney. The nights were very cold at the beginning of september, around 5 degrees and very humid, The inside was incredibly humid and cold, not at all comfortable without a fireplace.
There was incredible amounts of spiderwebs found at the entrance of the tipi and an old ugly wooden door was used instead of the nice glass door from the picture.
The 2 small beds were covered in a plastic cover to protect it but the big one wasn't, it was covered in an old bedding that someone had clearly brought and left behind, I Was very uncomfortable with the idea to sleep over someone's old sheet and no mattress protection.
The second day was an incredibly rainy day, and we even had some rain dripping in the inside of the tipi, directly on the bed.
I do understand that this is ''camping'' and not a 5 star hotel but the tipi is just clearly not cleaned, filled with spider webs and leftover soot all over. The cost of the tipi really doesn't reflect the low quality of the accomodation.
The toilet and sink are also a little far, and its impossible to bring the car close to the tipi which makes it quite hard to bring all the stuff in, especially in the dark, at night.
We didn't end up seeing the shower because we ended up leaving a day early because how uncomfortable our first night was in the tipi, and the water dripping in the second day. But the toilet facilities close to the restaurant were very dirty and smelly, and there was no hot water on any of the sink in that area, I don't know about the others.
The pool area/spa look deserted like if no one had taken care of cleaned it in months.
I still enjoyed my kayak experience, but I don't think we can say the same of many others that took the trip at the same time than us.
The water levels were INCREDIBLY low, they mentionned to us possibly having to stand up 1-10 times during the duration of our 20km trip, but we were talking about more than 30+ time if not more. There was some entire section where it was impossible to use the kayak at all and had to be crossed on foot in the river while dragging the kayak.
knowing those condition the little water boots should be provided at NO COST to everyone, They were really not pushing the fact that we would have to walk into the river that much to people and many skip renting those which would made the ride very uncomfortable. Luckily they were at least renting the wet suit for free because of the cold temperature and the rain but same should be done for the rain boots in such low water levels.
Many (older ) people were growing extremely tired, uncomfortable and frankly frustrated after many hours of dragging their kayak in cold water and getting stuck on rock every couple minutes,
Proper warning should be given as well as discount on low level days.
Marie-Michelle Pepin — Google review
Must keep in mind that this is a big area and a Camping space, even if you're staying at private rooms the service won't be the same of a 5 star resort. That said, i saw the staff work hard everyday on the bathrooms, reception, bar and activities to make sure everyone had the best experience. I had a blast there, the camping was nice, the river is amazing and the bar has a good variety of local beer and food. Only con is that it has a fire interdiction when i was there, so we couldn't make a fire on the camping area, but it's also something they can't control.

A little small, and though some of the animals are stated as rescues, some are not, so a little uneasy about their captivity as lots of them are pacing the fences.

We truly enjoyed our visit today.
Nicely animated. Quite entertaining.
Our tour was in French.
If you are in the area it is a must visit.
It gives you perspective about life hasn't truly changed. When it comes to income versus cost of things. They are all so relevant.

It was a very pleasant tour. The staff dress up as if in 1928, they took us around the store acting and explaining to us what would interactions be like in a general store in 1928.

Very disappointed...we're met at the door to tell us that....that there was a bus arriving in 30 min.....but we could walk through ourselves....and also not very good reception in English....none of the literature was in English either...BUT we were handed a booklet with pictures and very brief details....so anyone who comes from English speaking areas....I do not recommend this place...
Felt very much like my presence was jot appreciated....Definitely..not worth the entry fee..

I usually don’t like to write bad reviews, but we kept hearing that this was a stop we absolutely need to do in Percé and we were excited to try it. We arrived there a little before 10:30am. There was a note on the door saying the next group would be at 11:15am. A lady came out and told us that since it was raining it was ok to wait in the car and she would wave us when it was time to come in. She never took our names and they have no reservation service.
Around 11am, they changed the sign and now it was saying that the next group would be at 11:30am. Since I wanted to be sure that we were not waiting for nothing, I went back and double checked with the lady when the next group would be. She said her boss changed the time on the door, but we should be able to go in around 11:15am still. While we were waiting in the car, they first left an older couple go in. Then, at almost 11:20am, a big family came there and they let them in. She never wave us in even though we were in the car right in front of the door and when we went at 11:30am to ask what was going on, we were told by an older gentleman that we would now have to wait since they were full. When the lady we originally talked to walked by us, she pretended not to see us by looking at the floor.
You probably asking yourself what all the people who manage to enter before us had in common, they were all white French speaking people… maybe a coincidence but the way we were answered with a condescending tone make us doubt it. Anyhow, we never made it inside as we were not ready to pay $14 per person after this type of customer service and having to wait more than 1 hour to have other people get in first.

Quaint town and absolutely stunning scenery. We weren't able to get to Perce Rock because there weren't any boats available and it was high tide, but we walked down to the beach and got as close as we could. Definitely worth a visit, but we were happy we stayed in Gaspé so we'd be closer to Parc National Forillon.

Ferry to the island toured both sides of Percé Rock before a full tour around the island before docking. Great to see Bonaventure from a water perspective before hiking the island. We enjoyed the hike very much. We didn't find the trail we took difficult at all. I am not a bird guy but it was very interesting. So many birds and they don't get along very well. Not an easy life being a gannett!
Brian Kalte — Google review
It’s an island for hikers. It’s worth it for it views and sea animals. You will see so many grey and black seals around this island.
NOTE: best time to visit more seals is last week of September, because it’s time for mating.
There are three main hikes on this island. One is for almost 2 km one way, and other two are for 2.3, and 2.6 Kms. It’s only to see bird colonies that are on the top of the island. But if you want to see them not so closely, you will still be able to see them from the cruise.
Overall, you will experience breathtaking views.

Parc national de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé is located at the end of the Gaspé peninsula, it composed of Bonaventure Island the majestic Percé Rock, the tourist emblem of Quebec. Its famous colony of northern gannets, the third largest colony and most accessible in the world make it a must-see destination, and there are some buildings of former islander's homes to witness the life once there of the last century.
Taking the cruise from perce quai to circle the Rock and to the island. There are 4 hiking trails, the simple way is hiking to the Colony where the Gannett stay, then walk 5 minutes to the Lookout tower(you can see it standing over the cliffs when on the cruise), then continue hiking to the dock, it would take 2.5 to 3 hours, observing and hiking, you can see seals in the water and on rocks, and you can observe the Rock from different angles and perspectives.
The northern gannet colony has 116,000 birds, a must see! The park opens from May 31 to October 11.
Daily fee is 9 dollars per adult, kids under 17 are free.

Flagship tourist spot on the Gaspe Peninsula, a must see!
From Wikipedia: “Percé Rock (French: Rocher Percé, meaning "pierced rock") is a huge sheer rock formation in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence on the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Québec, Canada, off Percé Bay. Percé Rock appears from a distance like a ship under sail. It is one of the world's largest natural arches located in water and is considered a geologically and historically rich natural icon of Quebec. It is a major attraction in the Gaspésie region”
The park is very busy during the summer months. You want to be there early to get on the boat that’ll take you to the Bonaventure Island, do some hiking and sightseeing and come back. The trails on the island close at about 3 pm in August.
We had a lazy stroll along the coast, there are various seating spots along the shore, and many businesses offering seafood, ice creams, beers and live music and many other tourist attractions. The boardwalk is beautiful and accessible.
At low tides, the rock is approachable by foot, but you cannot climb the rock since it’s now protected. It’s just a massive rock formation that makes one humbled.
Recommend.

We did not find the sinkage the best for this area - we could not tell what was open and what was not. We walked to the end of the road where Le Manoir Wexford and La Madison du Captaine are but there were no signs really explaining what the were. There is a path at the end of the street with a booth that was closed - someone explained that you can no longer walk up there due to rocks falling on people below and the birds? I think the best spot to see the rocks would be to walk the beach below.
Sheri Lucas — Google review
Very unique pebble beach, full of live shells and other life. The high lookout point is owned by some local who will charge you $2 per person to go up, and honest there's no reason to. You can walk all the way to the rock via the beach from north side, however park warden will not let you go all the way unless during low tide even though path is clear. There's a municipal lookout point next to 132 to the south that overlook the entire rock.

This 433-meter-long limestone rock with a natural arch is accessible via a sandy trail at low tide.

Amazing place, amazing view. Worth the trip. Very serene, land picturesque location. Extensive view of the ocean and there's a Pier at the wharf that you can take a nice stroll. Accessible parking.
The town is generally a small beautiful cozy atmosphere. Winter looks quiet not much going on which can be a plus. Nearby there is a Geopark trail to the top which has a bonus view..very beautiful from the top unfortunately the access points were closed during the winter so the view was limited but still gorgeous.

Percé is absolutely beautiful & a must see. The newly built boardwalk is fantastic! However, it has become all about “how much money can be gouged from tourists”. In fact, Gaspésie has now become this as a whole & has changed so much from what I experienced for many years, previously. Areas of interest, which used to be local secrets are now money making hot spots & inundated with tourists, paying entry fees. I love Gaspésie, but it’s lost some serious magic, including camping on beaches (now forbidden). I fear, things will only get worse with time.

Very good place to hang for a day with family and friends. Kids play area is there. I liked the town more than the Rock. Good food and lot of options. The town is more lively. Whale watch option is there. Board walk also there. If you are lucky you can see the sun rice.

Beautiful rock formation with one of the largest natural arches located in water. It is so giant that it looks like a ship from the distance. You can pay for a boat ride which takes you into the water and you can view the rock from the water with the cute little town in the backdrop.
Although there was a stormy weather when we went so the boat had to turn around. You can see the birds colonies on the rock.

Ferry ride was great. The plan was to see Perce rock, the island and few marine animals if possible. But there was heavy fog for continuous three days of our stay which ruined our all plans. Zero visibility.

Best holiday place. Lots of camping and glamping sites are available at affordable rates. The cruise ride to the island and the View of Percé Rock we get through the ride is amazing. Would recommend this place definitely for everyone who is planning to visit Gaspé.

It's a must see place if you are to go to gaspe peninsula. It's breathtaking sceneries will keep you coming back. A cruise towards the island, activities on-site, resto/bar, souvenir shopping and fishing at the port.

Incredible Rock formation. Visit it at low tide, or take a kayak tour for an unforgettable experience. We drove by it in our boat.

Such a breathtaking view of this place. I am in absolute love with this place. Not only the Perce Rock but the entire drive to this place is a heavenly feel that each person must experience. The city, beach, shops, ice creams, restaurants, beautiful walks along the sea side what not. The drive from Montreal to Gaspe of 10hrs is 1000times worth for us and I will cherish these memories as I am awestruck with these.

Stunning view. The small town generates revenue from this natural scenery and becomes too touristic. Prices for accommodation and restaurants are too high, in terms of the quality and service provided.

This is an awesome place. If you ever have a stop over here come spend some time here. It's so lovely. The people are nice. Three view is great. Just chill and relax. Il parle bien le français aussi. Kudos to the security guard who told us all about Bathurst history!

Cute but small, yes stop here to visit but don’t expect too much. Couple of stores, ice cream shop, restaurant, observation deck, place where you can rent leisurely equipment to go on the water, little centre point with live music sometimes, public washrooms, small art gallery, and good information centre. Overall small and frankly less than what I expected but still a nice and enjoyable stop with a very cute / charming vibe.

The Village Historique Acadien is an outdoor museum in New Brunswick that showcases the history and culture of French settlers who made their home there in the 17th century. Visitors can explore over 40 historic buildings, including a replica of a turn-of-the-century hotel, and interact with costumed guides who bring the past to life.
Overall, it's like a small village. I liked that each successive house becomes slightly more modern. There are various animals and vehicles from that time. But the most interesting thing is that the village workers seem to live here. You can see them having lunch or working on sewing machines from that era. In general, it shows how many tools from different times used to work and how they evolved over time. In each house, there's a village representative who tells about the house and what people were doing during that time.
On the village grounds, there are a couple of souvenir shops. They are special because some products are made right in the village, with workers showcasing their craft during presentations. For example, barrels, shoes, towels, etc.
Regarding relaxation, there's a restaurant in the style of that time. The menu is limited to 2 main dishes and 2 desserts. However, it's very quick and delicious. There's also a more modern café in the central building and an establishment with snacks and drinks in the village itself.
Overall, highly recommended, especially if you have children.

Beautiful stories of history! If you love history and the way things were done back in the 1600's must go!

This is a very interesting and large museum of Acadian culture and life. We enjoyed our time there.
The only inconvenience was that not all guides can tell you as much in English as they do in French. So if you don't know French, you miss out on learning more about the different buildings and households. The guy at the woodworking shop was amazing though! He explained a lot in English, and he's fun too.

Not to be missed! Ne manquez pas! What a special time we had visiting the village and staying at the Chateau Hébert. Quelle expérience exceptionnelle 🤩The houses are presented by an interpreter “in role”. The quality of the presentations and learning of life through the centuries is so worthwhile. We were blown away! Merci beaucoup!

It is indeed the nicest hotel, people, and historical parc/spot I have stayed at in a long while. Stayed two nights at the Albert hotel. No TV in the rooms but had my laptop. WIFI was fine. Awesome experience. Must visit if you are a fan of French Canadian history - Acadian. Staff are bilingual and very eager to accommodate you in every way possible. I intend to go back soon!
Guy LeB. — Google review
Friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. Worth staying overnight in Caraquet and doing the park in two days (standard ticket allows this). Gives a real feel of times gone by. Era gets closer to modern day as you walk through. Give it plenty of time and talk to the authentic “residents” in each building. A highlight was Martin’s house and his story and the fantastic, working old water mill
Philip Stamp — Google review
This place is spectacular. Literally going back in time since the workers play the characters of the people that lived not only during the era, but the ones that actually lived in these actual homes. They don’t break character much either. They are knowledgeable about all equipment used, all artifacts in each room are actually used by them. They make their own meals in the traditional Acadian way, wash their dishes and all. They tend to their gardens. It seriously IS like stepping back in time.
Plus all staff are bilingual. Friendly, and you can tell they love their jobs.
I’ve visited here about 3 times, but will do so again. Each time I go depending on the hour I learn something new.
Go, you won’t regret it!

The village is well set up. It's a nice gentle walk with a rest area halfway through that has snacks and beverages with places to sit and rest. I liked how the second half of the village is a bit newer (20s to 50s). We stopped at the bistro for lunch and the food was delicious! Well worth the visit!!

Highly recommended of you pass in this area to know about the history of the population. I learn a lot of stuff. Their is a lot to see, so came early to have the time to visit everything. Also your ticket is good for 2 days, so you can come the next day if you haven’t had the time to visit everything.

People “in role” would act as the people who lived in the house, and explain the history behind them, very large area, il fait plus bon pour les famille, I would definitely recommend.
Beautiful area, with the beach very close. The lighthouse is quite large. Guests can go inside and climb to the top to see an amazing view.

It's a very quaint little souvenir shop/ice cream bar. Very Acadian. It also has a restaurant for the tourists but I did not go in. The lighthouse is not huge for such a small island but very cute.

Finally experienced being at the tip of NB. Nice scenery along the way with lots of culture to learn from every town. The lighthouse is a working one where one can also go up for a fee, $6 for adults and $4 for kids. The sound of the beach is so relaxing along with the sea breeze and smell. The location is clean and well maintained including there restroom. They also have a restaurant where you can dine in before heading home or to your next stop.
Suggestion, last gas station is at Lameque so you might want to fill up because Miscou island itself doesn't have one.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the most incredible experience visiting the Miscou Island Lighthouse! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning coastal views and the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore. The lighthouse itself is a marvel of architecture and history, standing tall as a beacon of maritime heritage.
Climbing to the top of the lighthouse was an adventure in itself, offering panoramic vistas that took my breath away. The picturesque surroundings, with the rugged cliffs and serene waters, created a perfect backdrop for some truly remarkable photos.
The staff on-site were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories about the lighthouse's past and its significance to the local community. It's clear that they take great pride in maintaining this iconic landmark and preserving its legacy for generations to come.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Miscou Island Lighthouse is an absolute must-visit. I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique and enchanting destination. Don't miss out on this hidden gem along Canada's beautiful coastline! ⚓🌅🗺️

Beautiful views, and a really cool experience to climb to the top of the lighthouse.
It’s $6 to enter the lighthouse ($4 for children I believe). It’s a bit of a climb (around 5 stories) to get to the top, and the last section to climb up is a ladder. Once you’re up at the light, there’s a small door to crawl through to get to the outside edge. The views from out there are gorgeous!

Follow the light! Come see the oldest lighthouse in New Brunswick. On a sunny day there are lovely views of the salt marshes, peat bogs, and windy beaches from the top of this historic wooden lighthouse. The entry fee is cash only. There is a small gift shop. Parking is plentiful.

For how it's advertised for tourism it's not very big we spent maybe 1/2 hrs and seen it all. It was very nice and clean but we were hoping to see more then just a dozen fish tanks and 3 seals.

Amazing way to spend a couple of hours . Well worth the entry fee. Their exhibits are well planned and organized out with local fish from.salmon, sturgeon , blue lobsters , cod to a touch tank with crabs, blue lobsters, clams, sea cucumber to an open air seal tank in which the seals are only a few feet away. The seals are very adorable and funny ! Their gift shop is also very large and has a wide selection of variety souvenirs. We all had a fabulous time. It is definitely worth visiting. We enjoyed it, a small place but with many beautiful and unusual creatures of the aquatic world. We particularly liked jellyfish and sea lions. They also have a small aquarium outside with crabs, lobsters, and other species that you can touch in the water.
We also stumbled upon a small show with the sea lions being fed at 11 a.m.

Their exhibits are well planned out with local fish from cod, salmon, sturgeon, blue lobsters, etc to a touch tank with crabs, lobsters, clams, sea cucumber, etc to an open air seal tank in which the seals are only a few feet away. We took our kids and they also loved the indoor boat's bridge setup. We all had a great time. It's well worth the detour from the main highway, especially because the scenery along the way is great too.

Place is really neat. It is mostly in two sections for the live fish, then a room for information amd outside tank where you can watch the seals. Place is really fun, great for kids and watching the seals at feeding time is really fun. You can easily spend a couple of hours here.

This aquarium was awesome. So many fish to look at, activities for the kids to And a seal show also, and fun photo spots outside for everyone. Including a beautiful light house that over looked the ocean. A must see for the whole family.

Small, but albeit very nice aquarium. The displays looked brand new, and seemed to be very well maintained.
It was cool to see the blue lobsters, the variety of other fish and shellfish they had, and the gift shop had some very cute souvenirs.
Around the back there was a nice boardwalk, and several areas to take nice pictures.
Unfortunately the touch-tank was closed (I’m guessing probably due to covid), and the seals pool outside looked very dirty.

Most interesting unique free park jewel in the area!
My family and I did a "pit stop" at this place during our Maritimes road trip in Jul 2023. We loved this park which had quite an interesting statue-like structure theme in the shape of a ship wreck. Located on the far east of Newcastle, I followed carefully the directions which was spot on. The park had an assortment of things to do: playground, picnic & benches to sit down, docks, lovely sightseeing into the riverfront, and fast-food and beverage options at reasonable prices. What caught our attention was the free open-air mini concerts: down-to-earth kind of musicians showing off their Acadian heritage through songs for which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this well-maintained place.

Always love coming here when we return to NB for a visit. Great location by the Miramichi river and the kids playground is great. We love the live music and dancing in the evenings as well. We were disappointed to see a couple shops closed during Covid and never reopened. Such a shame, but still a 5 star place to hang out.

Time and time again, I was amazed at how much Miramichi can pack into such tiny areas and Richie Wharf Park was no exception.
As the name would suggest, it is right Ong the water and has incredible views throughout. However, it also has restaurants, a cocktail bar, snack shops, a playground, mini lighthouse, mock ship sails, river boat tours and historical buildings with a gift shop and mini museum.
It's a great place for everyone. Bring your dogs, kids, family members or just yourselves. You'll love it.

Kouchibouguac National Park is a coastal natural area situated on the east coast of New Brunswick. The park features various habitats such as barrier islands, lagoons, forests and sand dunes that provide shelter to seabirds such as the endangered piping plover and harbour seals. One of its unique aspects is that it's a dark sky preserve which restricts light pollution providing an opportunity to stargaze amidst breathtaking views of the Milky Way.
April is still early to go here as some trails still close. There are no way to drive to Kellys beach.

Although there were way to many misquitos, I loved this place and the experience I had. From seeing wild life at our campground, beautiful trails with spectacular scenes and a fairly large campground. The amount of stores/shops was lacking but there were enough to get though one week easily. The entrance was a little far from the initial campground but that made sure there were no loud car sounds during night time. Overall, this experience was very nice.

We were on our way from Charlottetown to Bathurst when we saw signs for this place, and decided to swing by not expecting much. We ended up staying for several hours and it quickly became one of our favorite spontaneous roadtrip stops. The only way I can accurately describe Kouchibouguac would be "simple yet beautiful." The pine forests are pristine, the beaches are beautiful, and the tidal marshes are loaded with all sorts of wildlife. I will certainly be returning here to camp next time I find myself in New Brunswick.

Fun park to explore on bike or by car. Kelly's Beach is gorgeous and the hiking trails are nicely maintained. Dog friendly area with very few people. Kouchibouguac National Park is a hidden gem that is not to be missed! This beautiful park is located in eastern New Brunswick, Canada and is truly a natural wonder. The park spans over 238 square kilometers and offers visitors a range of activities to enjoy.
Firstly, the park boasts an impressive 25 kilometers of stunning coastline. The beaches here are some of the best in the region, with warm waters perfect for swimming, sandy shores ideal for sunbathing, and plenty of opportunities for beachcombing. You can also explore the coastal dunes and salt marshes, which are home to an abundance of wildlife.
Inland, the park offers a range of hiking and biking trails that will take you through dense forests, along winding rivers, and past tranquil ponds. The trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of difficulty levels, making them suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Along the way, you can spot various wildlife, including black bears, moose, and beavers.
Another highlight of Kouchibouguac National Park is its paddling opportunities. The park boasts a range of waterways, from calm lakes to rushing rivers, which are perfect for kayaking or canoeing. You can rent equipment on-site or bring your own.
Finally, the park offers a range of camping options, including campsites, yurts, and oTENTiks (a cross between a cabin and a tent). The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Overall, Kouchibouguac National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to connect with nature and explore the great outdoors. The park offers a range of activities that will keep you entertained for days on end, and the stunning scenery is sure to leave you in awe. Highly recommended!

I only spent one 4 degree night here in early June, but I would love to come back.
First, THE STAFF. Not only did they help me find a warm Otentik to stay in when my tenting site was so windblown by Atlantic winds that I would have died of cold in the night, but they were understanding when I came in and asked to stretch on the floor of the visitor centre to get out of the cold and give my back some relief.
I walked out to Kelly's Beach. Despite the whipping winds, spraying water and rain, I could tell this was a beautiful beach! (If you can come when you have better weather than me!)
Would also love to come back to my waterfront site at Cote a Fabien!!! (In better weather!)

Good place to stop. Clean and busy. Only gets a 3 star because they do not tell you when you pay the entrance fee that dogs are not allowed on the beach or on the boardwalk. This is one of the reasons we went here.

Well groomed trails, lots of fun activities such as kayaking, boating, cycling (all for 20$-30$ rental fee per activity per hour).
Camping sites are well managed, some serviced and some are not. Usually very busy. Lots of security patrols throughout the night so it is safe. However, can't party after 11 pm because camp sites are so closer to each other. Hence, privacy is less.
Firewood only can be purchased from the main office. Can't have open fires. Use only the provided fire pit.
Washroom and the public cooking sheds are the cleanest ones I have ever seen. Hot water for shower available. But no electricity outlets to charge your electronic items. Thus bringing power banks and batteries encouraged.
Beautiful sandy beaches and boardwalks are there to enjoy.
AAND....
Beware of Mosquitoes. They are huge and swarming. Bring bug sprays and mosquitoe repellents and cream and everything you got. Believe me they are really bad.

From what I saw and experienced on a day visit to the park, it is a unique and beautiful place to explore. The trails are easy but interesting. A lot of things to do. However, because of the marches, it is a very humid and very warm place that is a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes and other very useful creatures that support the unique ecosystem but, nevertheless, very annoying for the human visitors.... Besides walking on boardwalks, you are swarmed whenever you stop for a break, want to have a picnic or simply get to nearby washrooms.

We have been at Kouchibouguac many times over the years. It is a wonderful place for cycling, kayaking and the beach. The sites are nice and big. You can have in the woods or open. The only drawback is the it is often full in the high season and long weekends, you have to reserve in advance or keep checking for cancellations.

I found this place amazing. From this area you can learn what Acadians really are. Just for the love of their culture, music, and their history, plus the pride in it, it's worth the visit.
Alastair Mac Pherson — Google review
We had a great morning here. Make sure you check the schedule for the language of the presentations, which are excellent, the history of Acadia presentation in the hangar was my highlight. The site is easy to explore on your own, and it's accessible. The site is split into two sections, the 'land' and the 'island', the activities on the land were excellent, the island felt like it needed some love, and that there was nothing happening except for a singing/dance performance in French. There are houses that you can go in and explore, but zero information about what they represent, the time period, or the significance of the building. There also appears to be a cooking section, which was also abandoned when we visited. There is food available on site, it's fairly expensive and the choices on the island are mainly fried. Please bring a water bottle, the only water to purchase was an $11 reusable water bottle.
Is it good value for money? I wouldn't say for the $70 it cost my family of 4 to enter that it was.
Would I recommend that you visit? If you understand some French, yes. If you don't speak any, then I would have a hard time doing so.
The response I got was fair, and if they made it clear and explained that the locations would be manned (maybe a little clock with a return time, or a sign at the entrance of the building) then I would say that it's a great visit.

There's hiking and activities and the Akadi Lumina experience is unbelievable. This place has found its way again. We did not realise how much French would be spoken and came at the wrong time for an English show … but one of the many performers scooped us up and gave us a private orientation while the French show was on. We learned a great deal about the Arcadian culture and history. We then visited several areas and each performer (one or two wait in each building to engage with you, if you initiate it) was able to engage entertainingly with us in English. We watched the tail end of a French show on our way out, and could see the audience were captivated and entertained by it. The buildings themselves are interesting and in good repair, and the entry allows you to return the following day.

The people were very engaging and willing to switch from French to English. The music and stories on stage were in French only, but still very entertaining and good music if you can’t understand.

Wonderful place to visit if you're interested in Acadian culture. So many things to see and lots of activities going on all day.
If you understand English only check the guided tour time for English. If you are a music lover, definitely going to enjoy it.
Small walk to each site and to the island. Restaurant (snacks) and beer available.
Friendly service and must visit place

It was so interesting to visit, and I especially loved the music & songs. It is visitor friendly in that getting around is made easy. 'La Sagouine' by A. Maillet has always intrigued. A simple but unique & funny close-up take on life, from a humble worker's point of view. The setting is beautiful, and the people were so friendly. I certainly will return. I've yet to try the highly recommended buffet.
Striped 5-story lighthouse built in 1875, now with history exhibits, guest rooms & scenic views.
First time in PEI and first experience with lighthouse. The museum is very informative. We were able to go upstairs to the top of lighthouse and enjoy the view. There is also a great beach and trail that you can walk and enjoy.

A magnificent view, though a very high climb on steep stairs to get there. A great beach next to it to walk across with a sand bar next to it (easily accessible, especially further down the beach). Quiet as well, with some cool rocks and the water wasn't very cold at all.

We stayed in the Tower Room...highly recommend! Bed and linens were so comfy and room was incredibly clean & decorated with antique furniture. The clawfoot tub was lovely too. We enjoyed hearing the waves crash at night and the hum of the light up top the lighthouse. Not to mention the hospitality...great recommendations & even accommodated a gluten-free breakfast. We can't wait to come back and will make sure to head to the campfire for ghost stories!

It was a beautiful rainy day. My favourite lighthouse on the Island. The drive along highway 14 is scenic and offers a few places to catch the coastal cliffs in photos.
I'd love to stay at the campground during cool or warm weather. Just beautiful and worth the drive.

Neat museum! Too bad the harmonium is off limits. Staff was very nice. View from top is really cool. Beaches are long and full of red sand. Really nice place to visit.

We loved the museum and the history of it all. We are also staying here in a room at the westpoint lighthouse Inn. We love it so far, clean modern rooms with breakfast included. We spent three days in the Cavendish area before coming here which we enjoyed but this has a totally different vibe. Way less touristy.

The inn is a very cool place to stay and super clean. The view and gentle sounds of the ocean are amazing.
The Lighthouse Museum is very interesting, goes up to the very top and is free for guests staying at the inn.

Definitely come visit West Point Light House. Very beautiful light house and my inner kid loved the old fire truck was a bonus I didnt expect. If you have the kids you will find a park on site as well with some benches so pack a lunch and relax well taking in the ocean view and unwind. I also found so many shells in great shape for the shell collector's out there.

We had the absolute best experience for our first time in NB!!!! We drove in 15 minutes late to the 7pm lobster tale cruise and all the staff were incredibly patient and helpful to make sure we got on the boat before departing. The boat is decorated festively and it's lively but not crowded, and the view is gorgeous at sunset on the water from the second floor. Ron is a terrific guide and is hilarious while still being respectful, and so knowledgeable on lobster fishing practices and history! Everyone on our boat was also super friendly and we had a great time chatting with the diverse crowd of passengers while putting our newfound lobster cracking skills to the test :) Thank you for an unforgettable birthday!

Have lived in Shediac just over a year and finally got a chance to do the Cruise and wish had done this sooner. Captain Ron was amazing and his passion for the fishing industry and the waters and eco system shine in the tour. Quite honestly he is what makes the tour so much fun with his amazing sense of humour compbined with his knowledge. Highly recommend to everyone would give it 100 stars if i could.

Croisières Shediac Bay Cruises provided a good overall experience. While the service and atmosphere were enjoyable, it's worth noting that there isn't a wealth of sights to behold during the cruise. However, if you're seeking a relaxing time on the water with decent service, it can still be a worthwhile outing.

Took a nice cruise with Shediac Bay Cruises yesterday and absolutely loved it. The boat was huge and we weren't overcrowded. The price is quite reasonable and surprisingly inexpensive for the value and length of the trip. The captain was a real professional and took the time to provide some historical context. They even have a full bar. :) Definitely recommend this.

This was an amazing cruise! The weather was phenomenal, perfect for some time on the water! The captain was very knowledgable of the area and was fluently bilingual. I couldn't have asked for a better time!

This was the most fun I’ve had in ages. Great time enjoying the bay, and learning all things lobster!
The Captain.. our host, was funny, interesting and communicated well in both English and Francais!
I’d you’re in and around Shediac, you really don’t want to miss this!

Went on their sunset cruise and it was amazing. The water and the sky were beautiful, the views were great, and they had good music on the whole time. The crew were also very friendly. Overall, it was very relaxing and beautiful, would definitely recommend the sunset cruise!

We had a lot of fun with really fresh delicious lobsters. The Captain is funny and entertaining. It is also very educational as we learned about lobster 101 and how to crack a lobster open, remove the meat from the claws, tail, body etc.. and eat very single part of it. It was surprisingly easy after we learned all the tricks.

This is the best market ever! Nice selection of vendors and food. The chapati are delicious and worth lining up for! Parking is available nearby, but can be busy in the summer. Open Saturday mornings. Highly recommended!

I got such a great collection of fresh vegetables, cheese, pate, bread, and lunch at the market. Everything was so fresh and beautiful. Highly recommend the lobster omlette i got, though i now can't recall the name of the restaurant! On the furthest wall, just two spots up from the indoor eating area. Look at this fun bread!! 😍

I only go there mostly for Jemmy Gourmet lol, it's probably the only place I'd buy pastries from for their low-sugar pastries and how good they are. Items at the market can be quite pricy, so spend your money wisely. Food is decent, but can be expensive at some stalls. There are nice treats sold here though so if you ever want to treat yourself to something fancy, try the pastries at Jemmy Gourmet, chocolate or whatever else the market has in store!

In Moncton for a visit. Went to this market on a Saturday morning to look around and explore the area. The place is not very big but there are a lot of vendors in there and it is interesting to see what the local sells and the varieties of fresh produces and other stuff. It took me about 30 mins to scan through the entire area. The place is really packed with people and cars lining up to find a place to park. Recommend going before 10:30am before the huge crowd arrived. Overall, a good experience.

Its a better layout than the Moncton Farmer's Market. Has a good traffic design Which allow people not get stucked in one spot. Always have good music playing, very friendly vendors. However felt there has less vendors over the years. maybe its winter.

Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles is a tourist attraction consisting of three beautifully crafted buildings made entirely out of recycled glass bottles.
Pretty much a tourist trap that we visited with eyes open, willingly giving them our money for some photos and the ability to say we'd been there. Notably, they still request everyone to wear face coverings and had the blue paper masks available at the door for free. They were slightly dog friendly, agreeing that our Minnie could visit - if we carried her. Overall, it was amazing the amount of work the artist undertook to create these building, but we left shaking our heads that he might have been slightly crazy to do so. We had fun.
I originally gave this place a three star review, basically as I was grading on a curve and it seems impossible that every attraction we visit would get a four or five star review. After reading their extensive and well written comment I felt compelled to reconsider and kick it up a notch or two.
We visit almost every "tourist trap" we drive by, and don't consider that description a hard negative. Tourist traps can be fun, quirky, interesting, and many other adjectives - this one was at least those three. We are not gardeners, but did appreciate the gardens. Sorry for putting Minnie down a couple times - she is very well behaved and well traveled herself, and even 15 pounds gets heavy. Wish I had known about the doggy wagons!
Oh, it's actually amazing how many bottle houses there are. We've visited two PEI alone!

I enjoyed this space and the time there, but I don’t know that the ticket price really aligned with the experience on the whole. It was cool to walk through, but we spent less than 30 minutes onsite with seeing everything.
It might have been more enjoyable with any type of interaction or something to follow. Maybe I missed something. :)
I think if you’re not budget conscious, its a nice stop to make and a good way to stretch your legs while looking at an interesting spot.

This place has small buildings, big enough to walk inside, and the walls are made of glass bottles. Very impressive. Nice little gift shop. Washrooms. Nice gardens. Plan 30-45 minutes to see it all. Small admission fee.

Very interesting place to visit if you are in PEI. The 3 houses were built by Édouard T. Arsenault around 1980.
Having seen a postcard of a tourist attraction consisting of buildings made of bottles on Vancouver Island, he decided to build the first house of bottles himself.
After spending a long winter cleaning and
sorting bottles, he was glad to see the spring of 1980 arrive; construction began a mere challenge and hobby yet. As his work progressed, people kept visiting him, admiring the results and encouraging him to pursue his dreams to reality.

This is an ideal destination for a day out with friends and family, featuring a wide range of captivating attractions and stunning views. The $10 adult entrance fee is quite reasonable given the wealth of experiences offered. The venue is impressively well-maintained, and the presence of a gift shop adds to the experience. With so much to explore, it's undeniably a must-visit if you happen to be in PEI!

Very surprised at how much we enjoyed this place. I thought it might be a glass house, and that was it. This place is so much more. There are several bottle buildings. The grounds are stunning with perennials everywhere. The gift shop is loaded with items made by local artists. Not the junk that is made in China.
Come see what one man can do with 12,000 bottles

If you're in PEI, this is a must-see attraction, no doubt about it.
It's a labor of love, twice over: originally by the maker of the houses (Edouard) and then by the people who rebuilt his creations, documented everything, and preserved his legacy so beautifully. Love for the man and his work shines through the site.
Just a lovely place to stroll through. The explanations are worth reading.
Admission for our family of four was $25.

Pretty gardens and some interesting structures made of bottles and cement but not worth the out of the way location and $10 per person entry fee.

What a lovely place the Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles is to see in PEI! It happened to be a rainy day when I visited and it was still beautiful touring the bottle houses and gardens. Truly a labour of love as revealed in the historical pictures and descriptions at the site which have been lovingly preserved by the current owner. A beautiful reminder that we can be inspired to make dreams come true at any age since Edouard Arsenault began construction at 66. Thank you for preserving this beauty!
Katherine Stella Duncan — Google review
The Bottle Houses are unique and interesting. Built by a guy named Edouard in his seventies, he built 3 bottle Houses and used 25,000 bottles total. Some of the bottle houses had to be rebuilt because they collapsed.
There's a small pond, garden with cute little decorations, bottle art sculptures, benches, a replica of a lighthouse...
There's a gift shop when you first enter. Adult admission is $10. There's a self guided tour. They give you a brochure with the information on it. And in the houses there are the same information of the tour on it.

Was fortunate enough to have enjoyed a performance of
A Christmas 🎄 Carol
Dec 2022
This to me was a live performance of A Christmas Carol, and my thoughts were, this is the performance you get after a two-year shutdown due to covid-19.
90% of the actors have succumbed to covid-19 and the immunologically strong 2 cast members have survived, and during quarantine they have had ample time to have learned every part and all of their lines. And in the spirit of entertainment, The Show Must Go On!
The two remaining cast members deliver a spirited and memorable performance! Five star from every angle, standing ovation!
Consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to witness the efforts of these two performers and how they held the audience's attention in the palms of their hands for 2 hours. Bringing it to a crescendo of emotion and joyful seasonal celebration! Bravo and hats off to the both of you!
Hope this is helpful!

What a great experience to learn what is taught at a Piping school and the parts of a bag pipe. The newer, attached auditorium is well suited for concerts and competitions. Most topics were covered except for the “straight face” vs smiling of the performers.

I am a snare drummer at the college, and the experience is really one of a kind. I now have two jobs now because of my commitment. They are both at the college. The college is currently teaming up with the National Piping Center in Glasgow, Scotland. This is also the only place that teaches bag piping, Scottish snare drumming, highland dancing and step dancing year round in north America. It is also a unique facility because in 2004, Doug and Debbie Hall really liked what the college had to offer. They didn't want to just donate twenty dollars, so they paid for all lessons for people under 18 who want to take snare or bagpipe lessons.

Performers are amazing. Shows are wonderful.
Parking is terrible. Why have a big theater if you can only have enough parking to fill half of it. We went during the winter and had to park in a snow bank along with many others. At least plow the back area to make it convenient.

Years ago we went to the island and made a point to see a performance. It was super amazing. This last August we visited again and made a point to see another performance, actually the last one of the season. Definitely not amazing, actually terribly disappointing with dancers not keep the rhythm, making mistakes and being other late or too early in the movements. What a shame having my amazing memory shattered completely. The Drunmers were amazing. The Pipers equally amazing. Day of performance -August 12th. Giovanna & Matteo

Cavendish Campground is a serene and picturesque camping facility situated in the Green Gables Shore region of Prince Edward Island. It is located within the Prince Edward Island National Park, providing visitors with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes without any commercial distractions. The campground offers various accommodation options such as tent camping, serviced RV sites, and cozy cabins. Visitors can enjoy clean and spacious campsites near the beach, hiking or biking on multiple trails, and exploring nearby attractions like the Green Gables Museum.
Cavendish was such a beautiful experience. **Review for July 2023** Wonderful sunrises and sunsets, great trails. We loved Cavendish beach and all the jellyfish we saw!! The boardwalk with sweet shops was a nice touch. Great place to stay! The restrooms were amazing, very clean and great showers. The site itself was pretty small but it fit our tent, small bro hole with a picnic table and a fire ring. That’s all we needed! We will definitely be back.

Cavendish campground was probably one of the nicest Parks Canada campgrounds ive stayed at, even with the recent loss of trees due to the storm a couple years ago. We stayed in an Otentik facing a forest and lake, with the sounds of ocean waves crashing into the shore always present.
The bathroom facilities were clean, numerous, and modern. The only thing I would complain about is the lack of cooking tools provided (pots, pans, kettle) as I don't understand why they'd provide plates and cutlery without a way to cook.
Matt — Google review
Beware when booking that the pictures of the campsites are not what you get. Tropical storm Fiona took out most of the evergreens so there is no privacy at the sites, at all. No dogs allowed anywhere on the beach (which is the main reason we booked - to use beach). We ultimately ended up canceling our booking for the rest of our stay because it was so disappointing

UNFORTUNATELY...Hurricane Fiona in 2022 truly caused so much devastation at this park, it will take a very long time to recover. There are not a lot of standing trees left.
Other than the beautiful views along the shoreline, I was very disappointed in the Park. Most campsites are small, with little if any privacy, and there seemed to be little concern for the noise levels of other campers after quiet time.
In addition, many campsites are surrounded by poison ivy. Mine was one of them. As a result, my 2 dogs had to spend most of thier time either in the truck, or in the bed of the truck to keep them safe from it.

Worst campsite on a 10 day camping trip. No privacy of sites, no trees or shade, it has stone/gravel for sites and not grass. The burn barrel was way too tall and wood was too wet to get anything going.
And I understand that the hurricane did some damage but not having pictures is very misleading, as if we had known what we were getting into, we would have gone elsewhere.
Bathrooms and showers were good at least.
Jayne Jackson — Google review
The park needs to close down for a year or two and replant- fix and just start fresh. They will get many negative reviews this year im sure of it.
All the trees are dead and falling. They should be cutting down everything and planting new saplings as soon as possible so the camp can have shade and privacy again like it used to.
Also the sites were not maintained, they were leaving the grass and brush long, not trimming down where it needed. The site looks bad.
we only had one kind set of neighbours but they said the campsite was ugly and left days early to go somewhere nicer.
The beach is always beautiful and worthwhile but also needs work since some of it was eroded during the last storm, thankfully they were working on fixing that while we visited.
The bathrooms aren’t all currently open in July, but the ones that are were fairly clean.
I used to absolutely love this place, it’s disappointing to write a bad review.
*Review is for our visit in July of 2023*
Megg — Google review
Very disappointing experience.
The campsite :
No privacy
No shade
Small size
Sharp gravel (bring a tarp to put under your tent in order not to break the flour of the tent)
It is understandable that following Fiona last year, some expectation cannot be met. The real problem is the lack of transparency of park Canada about the campground. There's a difference between stating that there might be some changes since Fiona and being honest about the reality of those changes. For instance the lack of photograph of the campsites is a clear indication of FALSE ADVERTISING ON THE PART OF THE PARK.
We are people that camped for 20 years and this was the worst camping we've been to but also one that we had high expectations for since we've heard a lot of good about it. For those thinking of camping in Cavendish skip the experience but instead spend a day walking on the trails which are still nice.
For those still considering camping, the best spots we've seen are C001-C003 and C005. Shades and privacy.
The toilets are nice as well as the showers. The beaches are also beautiful.

Nice federal campground with power & water services. Free showers with hot water but small and only 2 stalls in the building with lights burned out (don'tgo after 9 pm). There is a laundry but missing most of the washers so unless you have the day to waste waiting, don't bother & go to the village laundry. Two paths to the beach which was sandy and nice.

A really nice camping ground! The campground my boyfriend and I had was near the beach, and hearing the sound of the waves every morning was fantastic!
The bathroom and the laundry are immaculate, and we were amazed about it!
The reason I took a star off is because the campgrounds are too close to each other, and you have NO PRIVACY! No tree between campground, no nothing!

This campground was also very nice and clean. The best thing about this was that it was right in front of Cavendish Beach. Best place to see sunrise and sunset both. We had enjoyed the beautiful sunset here, photo is also attached. We would visit this place again. Washroom and shower facilities were available.
Cavendish Beach is a prominent attraction located in Prince Edward Island National Park. The park spans over 42 kilometers along the island's northern coast and boasts of various habitats, including undulating dunes, sandstone bluffs, and wetlands. While the park remains open all year round, visitors can access full services from mid-May to mid-October, with July and August being the peak months.
Beautiful beach and National Park. This is typically a summer and tourist destination and can be quite busy. The beach is great in season, but the overall area has much more to offer. There are walking trails and bike area that can be utilized the majority of the year. Service are only provided in summer months, so be sure to plan ahead. Well worth exploring and spending some time.

Our family (group of 7 adults) came to the beach on Friday August 12, 2022. It was a beautiful day, and not super busy. At the main “boardwalk” before the stairs & ramp down the the beach, there were accessible change rooms and washrooms, lots of picnic benches to rest or have lunch, and and ice cream shop. We spent a couple of hours here, swam in the ocean which was cold, and enjoyed the silky sands! I’d recommend coming here but hopefully on a day where it’s not super busy! 😊

Beautiful sand beach lined with large sand dunes with with distinct red sandstone cliffs. Well maintained boardwalks with natural pond areas and wildflower meadows, we were visiting as Hurricane Lee arrived so the were lots of dramatic crashing waves and strong winds… still beautiful though. The shower / washrooms were well maintained and incredibly clean. The only downside was that a few areas were tapped off due to walkways being broken and broken information signs.

Had a really enjoyable time here. Nice facilities that were clean when we were there. I think a 4.5 is a better rating as the beach is quite rocky and hard to enjoy for swimming. That said the sandcastle making was lots of fun. Overall beautiful views, just keep in mind the trees in the area show evidence of the hurricanes that have come through.
Also, check out the Sunset and Stars hike put on by Canada Parks.

The beach looks spectacular and very calm, and most people stay there. But don't overlook the beautiful boardwalk and red rock cliff area where we dip in and see many small crabs.
On the downside, it is somehow hotter or more humid than other parts of the island.

Amazing park - there is a small fee to get in, but definitely worth it if you're here for an entire day. There's a large parking with several buildings in the main area, picnic tables. There's several trails to get to the beach, dunes, oceanview lookout, small lake. On a busy day, definitely want to come earlier to get a great spot.

Staying in nearby Moncton which we made our base for visiting Hopewell rocks, the Magnetic Hill and this beach here on PEI, we arrived on a windy September day, which turned very sunny in the afternoon. We have not realised, that crossing the long bridge between the mainland and PEI will have to be paid upon returning to mainland and is the most expensive fee we paid for crossing a bridge, at 50.25 CAD!!!
Reaching this beach involved lots of turns via small country side roads, with the map opened on my phone. Being late September, after Lee storm (which kept us awake in Halifax earlier) the beach had no access fee and there were lots of coaches bringing old tourists for a stroll on the beach.
The beach is very long and there is lots of info there on do's and do not. Even the water was warmish and I saved 2 caterpillars blown by the wind to the sand: one decided to further poo on my finger, I guess that is nature gratefulness, right?
Beautiful views in all directions and this area is left unspoiled which I like. Would I come back in summer time though? Not really, I prefer to stick to the provincial parks around Toronto for daily escapades and if I really want a holiday in the sun, probably I would chose quieter locations southern USA/Gulf of Mexico/Caribbean. There are lots of great locations to discover further.

Absolutely majestic beach, warm salt water, gorgeous sunsets, calming red light therapy, the sand dunes are huge, and well kept. Lots of parking. Picnic area. Easy to access boardwalk to beach, wheelchair ♿️ accessible. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. It's been a long time since returning to Cavendish and man oh man these sunsets & this place doesn't disappoint. A must to see! 🌅

Beautiful beach. They are working on making it access to get to. There is a lookout point that is accessible and the ramp down to the beach looked to be under construction. The trail we walked was really nice. There were warnings for poison ivy. And we did see A LOT of poison ivy. There was an entrance fee but they provided us of a map of the park. Dogs not allowed on the beach but they are allowed everywhere else on a leash.

This was an absolutely beautiful visit!
The beach is gorgeous and it's nice to see the sand dunes! Although, the water is absolutely freezing so be prepared! The beach is big with lots of space so if you want privacy you can move further down the beach.
You can walk down the trail nearby and visit other parts of the beach further away which is nice to see as well.

Pretty spot on the Gulf of St Lawrence. Easy senic drive from Charlottetown. Beach was very accessible and had lifeguards.water wasn't too cold and that surprised me! Great day trip.

This is the main beach, it’s even cleaner and has a boardwalk with outside showers and access to beach. I absolutely love this beach 🏖️ There is free parking after 6pm once the office closes. Anything before 6 you have to pay a park entrance fee. There’s a picnic area and also a small food stall with insanely high prices
Avonlea Village in Cavendish is a tourist attraction that pays homage to Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel "Anne of Green Gables". The village features purpose-built and heritage structures that recreate the fictional 19th-century hometown of Anne Shirley. Visitors can enjoy delicious food, quaint shopping, and local crafts at the various restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries housed within these buildings. The original schoolhouse where Montgomery taught is also among the heritage buildings on display.
Off season but the place was accessible and we liked how colourful the houses are. We’ll definitely be back in the future.

Fun little village to walk around, but not too exciting. Mostly just places to eat, and didn’t have many vegan/vegetarian options available. I thought I may get to walk around here for a half an hour but I probably only spent like 5-10 minutes.

Beautiful place to walk around and see beautiful gardens and reproductions of homes from years ago.
Many restaurants to try.
Nice gift shop and if course Cows ice cream 🍦
I would go back again.

This is a nice shopping area, minutes from the visitor center for the Anne of Green Gables home. We were there in late October, and they just close the complex. Not much was open in the area when we were there in late October. Looks like a nice area to explore in the spring and summer and early fall.
Green Gables Heritage Place is a notable museum that served as the inspiration behind the book 'Anne of Green Gables'. It holds historical significance and has been restored to showcase furniture, décor, and furnishings from Anne's era. The place offers guided tours with audiovisual displays for better understanding along with a gift shop. With its proximity to Cavendish Beach, it is an essential location to visit for those who admire the classic novel from 1908.
We had an excellent visit here! We had a friend in town who loved the Anne books, and she was so excited to visit this spot. We were really lucky that they stay open later into the shoulder season.
The spot is clean, bright and very accessible. Lots of well laid out ramps and well marked steps. Washrooms were clean, accessible and well maintained.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable- We really loved the guide inside the house but everyone was very friendly.
I think our favourite part was the wall of books, showing the different book covers and when they were published for different countries. Really interesting to see the image choices!

I never thought I would travel to this shrine! It really is a very impressive site that embodies the life and influences of one of Canada's greatest authors that has influenced many people around the world.
If you get to go for a visit, you won't be disappointed!

This was a must for me when visiting PEI for the first time. I loved learning all about Lucy Maud Montgomery. The house itself was neat and we enjoyed the walks in the woods and exploring the memorial stuff in Montgomery Park. There is a second part past the park that costs extra, so it you want to explore it, ask about it when you pay your admission at the beginning. No one mentioned it to us. There are some great things for purchase in the gift shop...I picked up a copy of the Anne of Green Gables book in addition to a few other things. You can also take a picture with "Anne and best friend "Diana". 😊

Absolutely beautiful park with an interesting history. There's plenty to do and see including nature trails, scenic gardens, and a Victorian era homestead that was turned into a museum.

We've been here to send some pictures for our parents who love the book and the TV series, not expecting much but, we were wrong. An extremely well structured and organized museum, really beautiful inside and out. Very well maintained where you could probably see lots that is on the books right there. Everything is sparkling clean and the flowers are amazing.

Green Gables Heritage Place displays the history and writing journey of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables.
This beautiful space encompasses the story of the writers life, showcasing her passion, struggles, and inspiration as well as actualize the story of Anne of Green Gables right before your eyes. You journey through the writers life, and then go outside to visit Anne’s house as it would have been in reality.
The space is beautiful, clean, and well taken care of. A wonderful place to be if you’re a lover of the book.

This was a great museum to learn about all things Lucy Maud Montgomery and the inimitable Anne Shirley!
Beautiful displays, a lovely house remodelled to look just like Green Gables, colourful gardens, a walking trail in the woods, clean bathrooms, a cold-water bottle filling station, and even Beaver Tails to eat. We didn't venture into the gift shop, which was huge and would have overwhelmed my kids who want one of everything 🤣.
I highly recommend stopping here while in Cavendish!

Interesting tourist attraction with a lot of information and background. Good amount of parking, a couple nice walking trails, beaver tails restaurant, the house that inspired the Anne of Green Gables book.
Everything is very clean and well maintained.

A beautiful piece of Canadiana. The context at the museum before visiting the house gave me a different perspective to understand LMM and the Anne of Green Gables story. Watching literature come to life was lovely - and noth something you get to experience every day. Highly recommend.

This is the place I wish I could keep to myself. Such a serene site! It's L.M. Montgomery's house. The structure is original, and the items inside are those from her time. (Quite a few of them were donated by the people of the island.) The house is furnished, and the staff is knowledgeable. Wonderful! The exhibition is great, and the trails are divine (the Lovers' Lane and the Haunted Woods). The greenery wasn't in full swing, but we still enjoyed them immensely! I bet it's even better in the summer. I can't say enough good things about this experience.

This was an interesting stop on our tour of PEI. I knew nothing about Anne of Green Gables but grew up know of the cultural influence. I took the time to walk through the exhibit and read about Lucy Maude Montgomerys life which gave me a new appreciation for the stories.
The entrance fee was around $9 and are pet friendly which helped when travelling with my dog. The visitor centre has a large gift shop as well as in depth exhibit and great clean bathrooms. There is a small cafe just outside the building as well.
The actual Green Gables building is maintained as a one way walk through filled with historically accurate furniture and decorations. This doesn’t take long to walk through in itself but there are also trails on the property to walk if you’re keen on exploring.

Was absolutely lovely!
It was a beautiful and glorious day in October. The museum had a lot of information and as someone who was introduced to Anne in Grade 7 for our English Literature class and fell in love with Gilbert Blythe and everything Green Gabels it was pure joy being able to come here!
The gift shop was so large and had numerous memorabilia and trinkets.
Ample parking . Although I recommend coming in early as soon as they open so that your able to take pictures and explore freely without crowds.. I got there at 9 and when we left at 11 there. It was crowded and many tour buses were arriving!
All in all a fabulous place to visit.

Like many Canadians, I grew up reading/watching Anne. Seeing Green Gables was magical.
You enter the Museum that chronicles LM Montgomery's life before exiting the back that leads to the infamous house.
The grounds are beautifully kept and there is a lot to explore.
There are bathrooms and a lovely gift shop.
The museum and most of the grounds are wheelchair accessible, however, inside the Green Gable home and to go into one forest section, there are stairs.

I loved this place! I grew up with Anne of Green Gables and this place was just amazing. Unfortunately I couldn't go on the haunted trail or lovers Lane due to the rain but it was still really nice. Definitely a must see!
Aishah Waheed — Google review
What a delightful place to visit! Felt like stepping right into Anne of Green Gables, I kept expecting to run into Diana while traipsing among the Haunted Woods and hoped to catch a glimpse of Gilbert as we strolled Lovers Lane.
It was so fun to just wander around, and nice to have so many plaques and interesting exhibits to learn from as well. I especially appreciated the quotes from L.M. Montgomery's journals.
There is no need to cut your trip short, there is a snack bar nice restrooms, indoor exhibits and plenty of trails to wander and enjoy.

Recommend especially if you are an Anne of Green Gables fan. Much to see and do. It's part of the federal parks so you don't have to pay if you have a discovery pass. So much information about the author. Walk through the house, explore two trails. Can walk to the authors home ( extra fee ) we chose not to as it's just the foundation. After the walk through the haunted woods you can visit the memorial park and the post office that has some more information and historical pieces as well as a neat video to watch all for free.
Elissar Malaeb — Google review
You can meet Anne and her place only between May and October.
I trusted when Google said “open”, but found it closed although you still can stroll around without access to the inside of the houses and facilities.
So happy we did the Baymount Outdoor Adventure kayaking at Hoepwell Rocks a few weeks ago. My 12yr old, husband and I went out at high tide and the tour did not disappoint. Weather was a bit overcast but warm....the water was warmer then I thought it would be. We were warned that waves were about 3ft before we went out but it was no problem for the tandem kayaks. Guides were very knowledgeable, interactive and fun. Probably the best experience out of our 2 week road trip to the East Coast. Would do it again in a heartbeat! Was also fun to go back the next morning and walk on the ocean floor where we had just been kayaking....huge difference in the experience.

I took the mid-tide excursion since it was the only one that fit my schedule. Unfortunately you don’t paddle between the rocks on this trip since the tide has already started to recede but you do get a beautiful view from the water of all of the coves and rock formations.
The kayaks are all doubles and I was alone and so I was paired up with a stranger who had no paddling experience at all. Consequently I worked hard paddling, steering, trying to listen to the info that the guides were giving and taking pictures. That was a real disappointment for me. I was hoping to be with a guide since I have a lot of kayaking experience but that didn’t happen.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant (mostly students) and I would like to make a special shout out to Sara who was particularly cheerful, attentive and concerned about everyone.
All in all, it was a nice outing and we had a beautiful day!

This is the way to see Hopewell Rocks!!! A super well organized company, very friendly and informative staff. They make you feel very confident heading out into the waters on your kayak and share lots of great information about the natural phenomenon. Besides all of those things, this is such a beautiful way to experience the wonders of nature. I would do this experience over and over again! My sister and I did the high tide tour and I would love to try the night time tour also! Thanks Shawn and crew for such an incredible experience.

Hopewell Cape is a must see place to visit. We went at low tide and waited till high tide to enjoy our kayaking tour. Jack was one of our great tour guides. All were very experienced, put everyone at ease and taught some history lessons along the way. You do not have to be an experienced kayaker to enjoy.
Highly recommend, this is an A+ type adventure 😀

Thank you so much again to my guide and to the rest of the staff.

My husband and I were visiting Hopewell Rocks in June and thought a kayak trip around the rocks would be fun. Unfortunately we couldn’t get into the high tide tour so we did a mid tide tour. We were the only ones with two guides. Luckily we got to kayak through and around the rocks before the tide was too low. Guides were excellent and informative. Wishing we could have kayaked alittle longer but was a good experience.
Owners of Baymount were very friendly and helpful and their young son was such a sweetie walking with me down to the water and getting me stuck in the mud!
Would recommend this kayak experience!

So much fun!
It's been years since I went kayaking but it was easy to pick up again and the route you take isn't challenging. Lot's of photo opportunity and even wildlife too! Pictures of the birds was easy, pictures of the porpoise not so much. Cool to be joined by the porpoise though, didnt expect that at all.
Coming back and seeing how much the tide level had changed too was awesome.
Would definitely recommend this, even for the local folk (like me) who dont usually do the tourist things.

What an amazing experience. We had booked our excursion for Monday but due to high winds we had to cancel. Very disappointing but they worked with our schedule and fit us in Saturday morning before returning to Ontario. We it was well worth the wait. Yes it was a workout but so much fun. The guides were great and shared so much knowledge. Next summer we will definitely be back.

This is the perfect way to see Hopewell Rocks and experience the Bay of Fundy tides! Baymount is a busy, well-organized operation (4-6 tours a day) staffed with friendly guides who really seem to enjoy the job and each other. The equipment is top-notch and well-maintained. Joel's humorous spiel during the safety briefing kept our attention. (Sara & Ethan were also great.) There are 3 or 4 guides per tour group, so you felt secure even in rough waters or tight squeezes. The informative guides previewed difficult areas, and explained tides, erosion, place names, etc with well-rehearsed, captivating stories and jokes. Be sure and take your phone for photos -- you can store it in your equipment while kayaking.
We hiked the ocean floor in the morning, left the park to go to Wacky Wonderful Waffles in Hillsborough for lunch, then returned for the high tide kayak. (Park admission is good for 2 days to make sure you can see high and low tide.) Highly recommend!

This was a really fun evening and a great way to experience Hopewell Rocks.
The guide was great and very knowledgeable about the area, and offered some fun trivia too. Paddling through the arches was very cool, then revisiting at low tide the next day to compare was mind boggling!
I would have liked the option of a spray skirt to stay dryer.
If you go in the evening in the summer ask for bug spray as soon as you get there!!! Listen! Don’t wait.

An absolute highlight of Hopewell Cove was this warm, professional kayak tour with Joel and the team. Charming, informative, hilarious, engaging; every member of the staff. Respectful to each other, enthusiastic about the wildlife, safety conscious.. I could go on. Not a single negative. Would go back in a heartbeat. Hope you enjoy it as much as we (2 older broads from Montreal;) did.

What a wonderful, informative and fulfilling experience. We had the chance to walk the ocean floor during low tide and kayak with team at Baymount Outdoor Adventures during hide tide. Do not miss this tour!

I had the most incredible time kayaking through the rocks with Baymount Outdoor Adventures. The high tide kayak as the tide dropped was so unique. The best part was returning back to where we launched and having to stop earlier to get out and walk back because the tide had dropped by 13 feet in 2 hours. Highly recommend this tour and the amazing staff here ✨

If you are a Kayaker, or someone who physically can get into a Kayak and paddle, this is the absolute best way to see the Hopewell Rocks during high tide. The owner Shaun and Ashley Gibbs, are beyond enthusiastic about what they do, and make sure everyone in the group has an amazing time. The local knowledge they and their guides provide while on the tour are worth the cost alone. We can't say enough about how positive the experience was. And, their equipment is top notch, with each person receiving clean and dry safety equipment. Also, they are located inside of the Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park.

We really enjoyed this experience. Mat, Mat, Mat and Maddie were very informative, funny, helpful, and friendly. We went during High Tide. We were able to kayak under rocks that we just walked under earlier that day. I would recommend going on the earlier high tide tours as the water was already receding and we were unable to go under as many rock formations as we could have. The guides told us about different rock formations and the names of lots of rocks. I enjoyed learning about the different rocks as we came back the next day to look at them longer. I would also recommend bring a phone waterproof bag so you can take pictures. They provide you with a wet bag for things you want to take with you and also a locker from things that can stay in land. The kayaking was very easy and more like a tour. It was easy to keep up with everyone. There was a guide for the people in the front and for those in the back. The guides made sure no one missed any information.

Great experience exploring the high tide on kayaks, along with a very educational entertainment by our guides. Not physically exerting and slow leisure pace for the ~1.5 hours on water. Lots of mosquitos along the waiting area, bring bug spray and a hat!
Sackville Waterfowl Park is a must-see in the town of Sackville, offering a combination of trails and elevated decks that cut through the marsh, providing unobtrusive views of the natural setting. The park offers an easy and clean walking experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Such a beautiful location. Every time that I have the chance to walk here I jump for the opportunity. The boardwalk stretches almost the entire way around the waterfowl marsh. There are always wildlife surrounding the area. Geese, ducks, squirrels, and if you’re lucky you may even see a bald eagle! Definitely take a stroll here if you have the time on a warm afternoon, lots of covering from the trees so the whole walk stays nice and shaded.

The Confederation Bridge is the largest bridge in the world that spans ice-covered waters, connecting Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick. The 12.9-kilometre long bridge was officially opened in May 1997 and is a marvel of civil engineering. It provides a great convenience for travelers as they no longer have to wait for a ferry to reach PEI from New Brunswick.
The bridge has a zero-tolerance policy for speeding and use of a phone and has cameras installed on the route so be very mindful when driving.
The bridge is massive and very long.
Just after crossing the Bridge when visiting PEI, there's a park from where you can see the entire bridge with a beautiful view that you would like to capture forever.
Nisha Aryan — Google review
The bridge itself is an incredible feat of engineering. It takes about 15 minutes to cross and the view is amazing. We reached PEI and arrived to the Covid testing tents, showed our passports, Covid test results from the US, and our ArriveCAN info. We received a covid test from a very nice nurse and were on our way with instructions promptly.
The reason for 3 not 5 stars is the return trip. The toll lanes were not labeled well enough for us to understand how to through in a motorhome. Unfortunately we don't understand French. I had to get out of the motorhome (not much room between the bus and the wall) in a strong wind and ripped open my arm to pay the $48.50 fee. Bad end to a nice trip.

One of the drive that I have always been waiting to do is to drive on the Confederarion Bridge. Great view of the red earth on PEI when you are approaching. Also the scenic view from both ends truly shows how a great engineering masterpiece this is. There is no toll entering the island but you will pay $50.xx upon leaving from the bridge. It is still one amazing drive that I can cross out from my to-drive list.
Wilson Feng — Google review
This is the longest bridge which was built on cold water ocean, and also the longest bridge in Canada, and the only way enter Prince Edward Island without use ferry. Just the toll is soooooo expensive! Only collect toll in out-island direction, and it cost $51.25!!

Yay, JJ was here to see the bridge in 2016! Nice view under the sunshine.

Very impressive! The confederation bridge is the longest bridge in the world and an engineering marvel! It is 8 miles long built over the high sees that freezes in the winter. It is free to cross to the island but there's a fee of approx CAD$50 to leave the island.
Unfortunately if you're driving a sedan you can't see much on either side while driving because of the approx 4 feet high walls on both sides. However once you arrive on the island you can make a right turn and there os an area that you can park and see the bridge that you just crossed.
Abi M. — Google review
If you are traveling to PEI or so happen to be close to the bridge, this is a must stop at place to see the bridge. It's massive!!
Crossing it is nice but he warned you'll be paying 50$ to cross back into New Brunswick. It's a great experience and there's a lighthouse in the distance to look at if you like those as well!

Drive over the bridge for the first time today. That felt surreal to be finally here. The views are so beautiful. It's quite the experience. We turned right off the bridge and took some pics there.
Nique B — Google review
The drive on the bridge is beautiful overlooking the water on both sides. The only bad part is quite a high toll when you leave PEI . You do not pay anything when you enter PEI but you do have to pay the toll when leaving , no matter how many times you do that in a day. There is no 24hour pass or anything as of now. The only convenience for frequent travellers is that they can leave island through the express lane where they do automatic scan and deduct money rather than you having to stand at the window each time to pay. The prices vary depending on the kind of vehicle. Its 50.25$ for the 2-axle vehicles like cars or light trucks.

It was my first time driving through the bridge. The structural design while on the bridge is ordinary, but off the bridge, the view is awesome!
There's a toll on the way back from the island.

A modern engineering marvel. The bridge is tall and long. It gets quite windy on the bridge so drive carefully. I would recommend taking the time to drive over and see PEI
David Nishi-Beckingham — Google review
My father consulted on this bridge design when it was being proposed over 20 years ago and it is truly an engineering marvel. 25 km in length and high above the sea level, it is has great views of the ocean and you can look forward and back at the bridge itself which is fantastic. There is no cost to going onto PEI, but it costs $50 per car when you leave the island. The bridge is single lane, but there is little traffic and generally cars are not speeding as they seem to be enjoying the unique experience.
Christopher Nguan — Google review
Confederation bridge it is really a marvelous structure by humans... 12km long with 190m with single structure.... but you can only enjoy the view in semi trucks, buses and high vehicles... for the cars its just look like a normal bridge....and I am truck driver and cross this bridge 5 to 6 time in a week...
Kawal — Google review
Passed through it early May 2023, the toll fee was $50.25 paid by credit card. It runs about 8 miles (13 km) and it's truly an engineering marvel. It's a beautiful bridge that's very well-maintained very smooth. Going back to PEI, we were able to take a detour to take a picture of the bridge. It's quite a sight!
Ruichi — Google review
Great bridge connecting New Brunswick and PEI - it's 12.9km long, and will cost you ~$50 for a standard vehicle to get across. There's a max speed, so would generally take around 10 minutes to get across. The toll is collected when leaving PEI, and counts as the round trip payment.
Amazing experience and very beginner friendly. Paul is very kind and helpful in guiding us through. We kayak out for 35 mins, clam digging for more than an hour, then kayak back in and Paul will cook lunch. Total time is around 4 hours. Paul's red clam chowder is exceptional in quality. Even those who are not fans of Anne Murray would find this attraction worth exploring as it sheds light on her influence on the music industry both in her time and today. The friendly staff adds to the charm of visiting this lovely museum located in Springhill.
Quite an extensive collection of Anne Murray's life from early years to the most current. Her Albums, awards, the Order of Canada and pictures of her with other artists that she has met and/or collaborated with. The centre showcases her with pride and a great tribute to a Canadian music Icon

This is a fabulous exhibit, full of interesting and nostalgic photos, awards and exhibits from the life and times of Anne Murray, and the community of Springhill, Nova Scotia. The entire centre, including the exhibit areas and the gift shop are exceptionally well put together - kudos to the management, staff and volunteers - and all the generous donors who have invested in the success of the Anne Murray Centre.

I'm not even a fan of Anne Murray, but this is definitely worth seeing. I knew she was a prolific artist, but I honestly had no idea how much of an influence she has had on the music industry in general, let alone many, many artists both of her time and today. Definitely worth seeing.

If you’re an Anne Murray fan, this is a must see place! I am so grateful I got the opportunity to stop there. I got to learn a lot about her that I didn’t know and see her many awards. I have always loved her and her music, but didn’t realize quite how famous she became. My parents listened to her and that’s how I came to know her and so I was a bit too young to follow her career, myself. There is lots to see and read about and you can hear her beautiful voice while you’re going through. The gift shop is adorable and there are many great finds in there. I bought her biography and it has been an awesome read!

5 stars, if you love Anne Murray you'll definitely enjoy your time here. You walk through the building and the exhibits are in chronological order of her life. There is tonnes of interesting information and some really cool articles on her early life. The staff is kind and was super friendly. Worth exploring. Springhill is a lovely town and this attraction is by far my favorite.

If you love or hate Anne Murray (c’mon, how could you hate her?!) it’s a beautiful centre in her hometown. Very informative, well laid out. I first came in 1991 and it’s still fun to tour around. We ended up there this year on her 77th birthday!

So much about Anne Murray I didn’t know. Very interesting. You can take all the time you need to see all the displays. It kinda snakes through the building, so there is lots to see. Quite a few videos at the end give a good picture of her as a person. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable as well. Walked away thinking about the incredible contribution she made to our world. I highly recommend.
Jost Vineyards, located on Northumberland Shore near Tatamagouche, is the largest and oldest winery in the province. It has won multiple awards and offers a variety of activities such as tastings, tours, meals at Seagrape Cafe, hikes or bike rides through the vines, and monthly events. In addition to its physical location, Jost Vineyards also offers online shopping with free shipping within the Maritimes and reduced rates elsewhere in Canada.
This was a hidden gem on our trip. Was an extremely warm September lunch time and visited here hoping for a break from the heat. Impressive store and tasting room - with individual introductions to the vineyard and its products.
We then headed outside on the porch for lunch. Food was great albeit a bit expensive. Note that some of our pictures have a red cast due to the strong sunshine coming through the red tent.
Took some wine and drinks to go which was nice to have throughout the rest of our trip - none of it made it all the way home!

Coming back for more of the BEST seafood chowder in Canada !
We visited this place by accident 3 years ago on our way to PEI. Decided on a small lunch of chowder. The delicacy, flavour and content was so exquisite that we renamed their dish seafood with a bit of chowder. The excellent facility and wines offered are worth a side trip off the main highways.

Prioritizes their profit over quality for their customers.
I ordered 12 bottles of wine through their online shop. 6/12 bottles had the cork pop out and they leaked everywhere (prior to me picking up). I emailed customer service. They told me I should have monitored the temp across Canada when I ordered and would not resend or refund the ruined wine. I live in Duncan BC, which rarely goes below freezing. I did not see this note on their site but as they were advertising wine shipments across Canada I assumed they knew what they were doing and it would be okay. I’ve shipped live lobster and my family have sent out numerous packages of liquids from NS without any problems (in the winter months as well). I was so disappointed with the lack of support from their customer service. We emailed back and forth once but then I received no reply. Very careless. In my opinion the warning was not clear, they either shouldn’t be shipping in the winter and/or should put a recommendation to NOT order within Canada in the winter. It seems like they prioritized profit over their customers. I won’t be ordering again. If you are planning to order I HIGHLY recommend not ordering through the winter.

What a lovely vineyard! The wine is great but the experience was even better. They have a lovely cafe attached with plenty of seating inside and out. the menu has lots of offer and everything pairs well with all the tasty wine. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be returning.
Update: returned and even when it's busy, staff here are great!

Were there to enjoy Signal Hill on one of the hottest days of the year and it was well worth it, they were amazing! Highly recommend the experience, sampled some fantastic tasting wines, bought some to supplement our homemade variety, had a simply wonderful time! Great to be able to enjoy such an event with an awesome group of people!

Had wine, lobster sliders and the brownie. The wine was delicious and worth the price but the food while tasty was over priced and small.
We were well greeted and service was excellent. Additionally dogs were welcomed on the patio and provided with a bowl of water.
The venue makes for a pleasant afternoon.

This winery was a bit hard to find but is well worth the visit. We spent some time in the tasting room and enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio. It was almost closing time so it was not too busy. Friendly staff too.

I had no idea this place existed. A local escape. Went for a bottle of wine and snacks. Charcuterie board had lots of cheese. Lobster sliders were fresh and the side salad was the bomb. The atmosphere and service were great. Come early as people were getting turned away an hour before closing

We arrived as a group of 11 within a bus tour. We ordered lunch as soon as we arrived and everyone, absolutely everyone, throughly enjoyed it. Two people with Celiac Disease ate from main menu with alterations. There was no problem, very accommodating. Fantastic waiter, attentive and fun. The lunch was superb. Not a complaint among us.
