For price it was perfect. Nice safe location and very clean room. Air conditioning worked great and was much needed! The staff looked over my itinerary since I was alone and told me where to not go.

This hotel is a basic no frills place. The room were in was clean and the beds are clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was clean and food very good. We were on the third floor and it took awhile to get hot water in the shower. There was a coffee pot in three room but no coffee, other than a few small small details I would recommend this hotel. The rates are very good.

Staff and location are fantastic but the place needs work! Some stuff is just basic. Rooms are clean and vey well equipped. TV is new. Apt size fridge, breakfast was included for less than $35 but air cond had mold! That kind of nixes everything else.

I stayed here for 4 days - clean, daily service, air conditioning, quiet and super helpful host Elias and staff. Being in the El Cangrejo neighborhood there are plenty of food and bar options, also a short uber ride away from Casco Viejo. Good vibes and super attractive rates per night via AirBnb - actually the best value for anywhere around Panama city. They have breakfast options also. Good wifi and a working desk for digital nomads.

Centrally located and a bit tucked away on a minor road. The staff are friendly and helpful, but there's a but I'll come to shortly.
The room was clean, except for the pillows which I'll also get to shortly. The only window was in the bathroom, which was covered with damage blinds and gave views only of the back of another building. Fixtures were in good condition, with only the bathroom counter showing some superficial damage from wear and tear.
I enjoyed the included breakfast, which is your choice of several options put out for you, but you have to get there early. Though they state that breakfast is served until 10 if you get there by 9:45 or so there won't be much left.
Now the "but": there were no towels in the room and 3 out of 4 pillows smelled a bit funky. The 4th was perfectly fine. Both issues were reported to the front desk the next morning (I only need one pillow and I was travelling with my own towels anyway). The front desk indicated that she would let housekeeping know and I left to see the city. On my return that evening I discovered that housekeeping had not been to the room at all. As I was leaving the next morning and I was tired I let it go and didn't raise the issue again.

We went to the Biomuseo and decided to walk around the neighborhood and omg the views, from the skyline, to the beach views, the Panama sign.. so heavenly and incredibly beautiful! We walked miles without realizing... just marveling over the views. It's very romantic but also just exercising or hanging out with friends and family. You could find a nice shaded spot for a picnic or watch the sunset or do what we did and walk the entire strip and back.. really endless things to do at no cost.. there are restaurants around too.. a slice of heaven on earth.

Amador is a wonderful place to go for a run, bike, walk and even taking amazing pictures. I highly recommend checking the weather before going since you can’t really do much when it’s raining. Furthermore, there a clear view of the city and the ocean. In the other hand, I wish they added more bathroom around the walking area since all the bathroom is only in one single location which is really bad for people who really want to go to the bathroom 🚽😂 overall, amazing place to go for a walk with friends and family! 🌊🌆🌃

San Felipe, also known as Casco Viejo, is the heart of Panama City's old city and is well-known for its lively dining and nightlife scene. The streets are decorated with elaborate murals and lined with cocktail lounges, rooftop bars, and global restaurants. Visitors can shop at local stores that sell traditional handicrafts. Notable colonial-era landmarks include the twin-towered Metropolitan Cathedral and Palacio de las Garzas presidential home located along the waterfront.
Av. Balboa is a bustling avenue that connects multiple skyscrapers, financial centers, and other prominent landmarks in the city of Panama. This vibrant street offers stunning views of the bay and boasts numerous luxurious properties for rent or sale. The area is highly sought after by real estate agents and property developers due to its prime location and high-value investments.

Albrook Mall is a large, sprawling shopping center in Panama that is home to a great bowling alley and arcade, as well as a cinema. It is next to the bus terminal, which makes it an excellent destination for travelers looking for shopping and entertainment.
A place where most people can buy everything they need. It is my favorite mall in Panama. Parking is not easy on weekends, but you can shop comfortably on weekdays, so I recommend visiting on weekdays. There are so many things that the whole family can enjoy in the mall that there are clothes, furniture, home appliances, and supermarkets.
Jihe Y — Google review
Huge mall with tons of food options and stores. It's not overly air conditioned so might not be the respite from the heat you were hoping for. There's a lot of fun stuff for young kids, including a cool escalator.
Donella Held — Google review
Massive retail shopping mall. Many food courts for a quick bite. Overall though stores have a cheap knock off feel to them and seem to repeat at different locations within the mall. Good place to find something in a pinch though as lots of different types of stores ranging from clothing to shoes and drugstores, banks, bowling alley/arcade and theater.
Michael Quigley — Google review
Its a Mall. It was clean tidy orderly well marshalled and secure. Shop staff very polite. Treated to a new mobile phone cover by my wife from nice young man. We couldn't understand one another but mobile phone translate worked well. May use that communication with my wife. Seems to work 😀.
Colin Pirie — Google review
This is the largest and busiest mall I have ever seen. It is brightly colored and well lit. There are a ton of stores and eateries. It was a great place to visit. If you aren't local, it is good to know beforehand to bring 25 cent pieces, because that's how much it costs to use the restroom. Also, there is no in-store map, you have to visit the website. They have it broken into sections labeled with animals. It's a little daunting at first, but after about an hour of walking around and looking at the map, you will get it!
Cody Canipe — Google review
A very large mall with over 500 stores!!! We ensured to arrive early to get a full days shopping and man did our feet hurt. I believe this is the 2nd largest mall in the American and when I tell you it has stores of every single type, electronics, clothing and merchandise, salons, 2 huge food court and the list goes on. You will not walk the entire Mall in a day and to be honest you feel like you're in a maze sometimes. It has a couole branded stores like Bath & Body Works, Victoria Secret, Old Navy, Zara, Kenneth Cole and some other well trafficked stores such as Conway and El Costco. With the reviews I saw online I expected more from El Costco but to each his own I guess. More bathroom should have been included as the one by the lower level food court cannot carry the traffic. It is smelly, dirty, out of paper and hurt overall messy. As soon as the cleaners tidy within minutes it's nasty again. The mall opens at 19am and closes at 8 pm and we got there at 1:30am and left at 6:34; our feet could no more. Noteworthy is that the mall as several entrances all animal denominated; we entered thoroughly the tiger and left via the elephant. Do check them out and see for yourself 😉

I heard about this mall before I visited the country. It matched my expectations. So many stores and the place was clean and safe. I didn't get to see the whole thing because it's so big. Maybe next time.

We spent 3 days there, and I'm sure we missed stuff. Great mall if you enjoy shopping.
Katy Rossignol — Google review
Huge shopping mall with every shop you could think of.
It can be very crowed but you will be able to find everything you need. Also, you will find THE transportation hub for buses through the whole country close by as well as access to the metro line.
Tobias Gr?ner — Google review
The mall is BIG. Not the big you are thinking about. Think bigger. It takes about 4-5 hours to stop by every store. They have over 3 food courts and some restaurants have to repeat because of the distance. Escalators and elevators help with walkability. But you get tired quickly after a few trips up and down stairs. El Costco is a must see store.
Ajala Kings — Google review
If you aren't accustomed to huge malls .. I'll recommend using their train. For a $1US/$1 Balboa, it takes you through almost half of the mall. I recommend taking your time and enjoying the many shops along with the many food stalls on your stroll through the mall. It's one of the most reasonable malls there
Shar Don — Google review

Denise Thompson — Google review
I guess this is 1 of the biggest malls in the world. Its differently large. But to be honest it didn't really have the mall vibe. It felt more like a flea market with the rides and stands. Nice food court. We ate good thats 4 sure.

It’s a Huge Mall
Albrook mall is a pretty huge mall, very good variety of options but ofc not luxury options. There is another mall for all that.
There is food, clothes, electronics, cinema etc.
I do believe that it needs a little more navigation things around the mall because you may get lost a few times and finding stores can get complicated.
Good food options on the mall, loved that.
They close on time, literally. So if it’s 7pm it’s 7pm.
All in all; very good buys available so just walk around.
Her Mareness — Google review
The largest mall in the country and supposedly in all of latin america. Their website claims to house over seven hundred stores, mostly middle tier. I counted an astounding four food courts. That is something I have never seen before in any other mall. Even the pickiest eater will find a place to eat here.
I would consider this to be the most practical mall. They always have everything I am looking for. Even if you cannot find something at a small store, chances are you may find it in one of the several large department stores. Of all the malls in the city, this feels like the most family-friendly of all. Kids will appreciate the carousel and electric cart trains that travel up and down the corridors.
The north end is the busy part where apparently fifty thousand people visit per day. Twenty five percent of those being foreigners. But the south end gets very quiet. You will feel the drop in activity. Good thing is that toward the very end you will find the walls decked with large displays of magnificent art made by local artists.
Parallel to the mall is the national transportation hub with access to virtually all parts of the country via bus. It also houses a small indoor mall.
Panama George — Google review
You can find most everything you need here. The place was a tourist attraction on its own with giant animal sculptures, hot air balloon clowns, trains, a carousel, an escalator made like you're getting eaten by a dinosaur. However, it needs a directory and maps so you know what shops are inside, what they sell, and most importantly where they are located.
Maddi Petro — Google review
Large mall with a wide variety of shops and fast food options. The Metro station connects to the mall.
The 2 C's — Google review
Definitely a really nice shopping mall.Clean, well organised, with a lot of shop with really good prices, much better than the Multi Plaza I have to say.
Nice areas for kids and really nice reproductions of animals in statues.
Only negative point in the part where they are more floors the air conditions is not really working.
Taboga Island, also known as the 'Island of Flowers', is a popular tourist destination in Panama that was created by volcanic activity. Visitors can take day trips to Pearl Island or enjoy the beautiful beaches and clear blue waters of Taboga Island. To explore Panama City, Hotel Cibeles is highly recommended at an affordable rate with amenities such as air conditioning, hot water, cable TV and proximity to public transportation.
Getting here from Panama City is easy and affordable. We needed to have a negative Covid test within 48 hours before we could purchase our ticket. The ferry ride was beautiful, as we passed by ships waiting to cross the canal. The island was beautiful, with blue waters and a shore filled with smooth rocks and shells. The small restaurants were family owned, with fresh seafood with great views of the Pacific Ocean.
Fariyal Hosein — Google review
This was an interesting experience but nowhere close to as nice as our time in the San Blas islands. Actually, it is a very different experience in a more developed area with okay, but not great, beaches.
We were there on a Sunday, so it was very crowded. We were not able to catch the Taboga Express Ferry, so we took a chance with a privateer (along with a dozen others) and took a small boat across. It was not a bad ride on the way out, but chop and wind on the way back made it very wet.
This is where local Panamanians come to picnic for the day, so there's lots of food and drink vendors and prices are very reasonable, especially for Panamanian beer.
The place was very picturesque and it was worth the trip but will not be hurrying back.

One of the island's most notable features is its unique geography, with one side boasting rough waters that provide a dramatic backdrop, while the other side cradles a serene bay that is perfect for swimming and relaxation.

Great beach island about 25 minute ferry ride from Panama City. Worth a visit for sure. Drinks were fairly cheap also. Just watch those thieving little birds, they were stealing everyone’s food and drink when they went for a dip in the water.
Jamaal’s Global — Google review
It is ok for a beach near the city. The best part is not the beach for me but the trail in the rainy season, observation post, and the view of the city at night. Stay 2 nights for best value. Bring food as the shacks by the entrance is the best value. They thought too long on the price and charge $2 or $3 more than local pricing. Everyone assumes you speak english if white. Racist policy. The bar and cafe by the church is the place to go. The famous hotel and cafe has great coffee and views, expensive food but not much more than the rest. Good for a romantic get away but no cheap lodging options.

The Miraflores Visitor's Center in Panama features exhibitions, dining facilities, and observation decks for visitors to watch ships navigate through the locks. The center is easily accessible by car or bus and offers a small yet impressive museum. Visitors are advised to not be concerned about social distancing as everyone seeks out the best view of ships passing through. It is highly recommended to visit this must-see attraction when in Panama.
The first time I saw a canal in my life was spectacular. It was so cool and impressive. The road to the canal center was not difficult, and the parking lot was wide, so there was no inconvenience. Buses also run, so you can easily visit without a car.
Jihe Y — Google review
I visited during the low season, and it's been raining, so tourism wasn't at its peak. If you like history and human engineering, you'll be interested. If not, it's a canal with locks.
Danny Robinson — Google review
Too expensive for Panama. Exhibition is somehow closed and the staff forces you to go quickly up to the observation deck. View from there is nice but you can only stay 30 minutes which nobody is checking. Interesting place and a must see.
Stefan G. — Google review
To learn about the canal and actually watch the ships pass through is fantastic. The center is dated and is scheduled to close in November and will go through a two year remodel. But the viewing aspect is worth the trip alone.
Wanderers Compass Travel Blog — Google review
It was pretty cool to watch those big ships pass the canal but it was too crowded!! There's a lot of visitors, so they could have build a bigger place so that people won't be like sardines.
The movie was knowledgeable and interesting.
The food in the cafeteria wasn't so good. 4$ for a hot dog.

Very unhappy with this place.
Very rude staff, the “security” guards especially, yelling at everybody that tries to get a glimpse at the lock without buying a ticket (which is unclear at point of arrival)
10 bucks for the ticket to see the lock. Very crowded and not fully opened, very hard to find a place from which to see the lock from above.

A must-visit, very organized, I recommend doing it without tours, unless the tour allows you to watch the whole IMAX 3D experience, watch it for sure!!!
Elahe Javadi — Google review
Worth the trip to see the Panama Canal. Right now some things are being remodeled. However, you can see the locks and hopefully one of the bigger ships will be passing in the farthest west canal where you can see the top of it as it goes through. I would probably only give the visitor center a 3 or 4, put I got to see the Panama Canal, the ultimate shortcut since 1914, so it's a 5.
Robbie Richardson — Google review
A must-see if you're visiting Panama. There were no ships passing thru the lock when we were there, but you get a great view of it from the viewing deck. It is also recommended to pay the extra money to see the Imax movie to get a better idea of the history of the canal.
Dennis s — Google review
Very chaotic and disorganized, they need to totally revamp the tourist experience. We arrived shortly after 2 pm (because the boats don't go through in the morning to 2 pm) and there was chaos and confusion. The entrance area had makeshift lines without any structure to them. Groups of people were bypassing the line, walking through the line, leaving the line to go elsewhere, etc. Once you got through the outdoor waiting area to get inside, you go to pay $10+7 for an entrance ticket and IMAX movie.
Then you go up some escalators to wait in more lines. (We went on a mid weekday to hopefully avoid longer weekend lines.) Once you get through the lines to view the Canal and boats, you see crowds of people already filled up the seating, the staircases, etc so it's hard to view anything. And yes, people line up the staircases leaving little room to safely walk up and down. Rain can also be an issue, so wet staircases full of people jockeying for position to see the boats is a major safety hazard. Anyways, if you're lucky to see the Canal, you might also see groups of random tourists who somehow got access to the dock area (assume with some special tour group, don't know how one gets that).
The IMAX movie was a good watch, as it told the story about how the Canal got built. Again, you will wait in another line, and if you get shuffled to the end of the line after leaving the Canal viewing area, you won't be able to purchase any popcorn/drinks/etc because you'll just walk right past that all. They are missing out on sales from those people who were told to stand in line (which is outside the theater area) then walk directly into the theater.
My suggestion would be to revamp the whole tourist experience, add more elevated seating and viewing, fix the line issues, move the tour group people away from the regular people who have paid and waited in lines (so our pictures aren't obstructed and annoyed we didn't get a similar experience). So many things could make this a better experience for tourists, a total overhaul would be wonderful.

Carolina from Venezuela corrected my mistakes with off-water kite exercises. Thanks to them i got my first 100m ride within 8 hours / 3 days. I recommend staying longer!

I spent about one month at machete and had such a great time! I can only recommend it to everyone!
The spot itself has so many pros:
- they have an extra area infront of the school, where you can land and start your kite, even if there is high tide and no beach at all
- as the spot is at the end of the punta, it is not as busy on the water as more far down the beach
- there is generally more wind, than at the middle of the punta
The atmosphere there is really great and all the people are so chill and friendly. One of the best things at machete though is max's pizza, which you have to try!! One of the best pizzas in my life - so the place is also worth it to visit, even though you're not a kiter
They regularly organize trips with a boat to a sandbank, which is such a good spot, as there is only flatwater

I was certified as a kiting instructor at Machete 7 years ago and I haven’t looked back since. Apart from the pandemic I’ve taught there every season. I love this place. The people are great and the atmosphere is fun and chill. I live and teach in Canada the other half of the year and kiting in Punta Chame sure beats the Canadian winters! This is an awesome place to learn this sport and an amazing kiting / foiling destination. I took a group of kiters from Alberta there in Jan 2022 and they had a blast. Highly recommended!!

Nice trip to make, especially with kids as you will have a 99% chance to see monkeys. Don't go with the tour agencies, but do it yourself! It will save you a lot of money and it is easy to arrange. Go to the muelle publico at Gamboa, just on the rightside before crossing the bridge. Go early (7 am) and boats and captains will be waiting there. We paid a total of $70 for the 4 of us and had a private trip. Also nice rainforest views on the Panama canal.

You could make a pretty good argument that this is THE most fun thing to do on a visit to Panama City. I opted for a private boat and guide and had an absolute blast. Definitely do a early morning tour, and bring ALOT of bananas!!!! The monkeys are full and not as active in the afternoon.

I am giving this a 4-star review even though the port and surroundings could be viewed as depressing. This is at the port of Colon Panama where our ship anchored for the day. There is lots of poverty here with run down buildings and rubble. This scenario was in juxtaposition to the brand new shopping mall still being built. I found this place fascinating. Passengers getting off the ship were greeted by a young troupe of traditional dancers. The bright-eyed young people and their colorful costumes made up for the sadness of this down-trodden coastal town.
Carolishca Forster — Google review
The location doesn't have bilingual personal whi can give you instructions or assistance before the cruise staff arrive. They charge $5 dollars per person for no reason! Just to access a location without any accommodation for the customer's. The cabs or private car rides will have to pay to access, so to avoid additional charge they will left you outside the gate for you to walk... so sad.
Jose Isaac — Google review
Once the two storey construction is completed, it should be a nice area to relax, walk, and shop near the port dock. Currently, the only shops open in the area is an ice cream shop and a trinket shop. Expect more soon. There is a nearby mall that you can walk to, but they charge a
$5 entrance fee. Would not recommend walking outside the port area unless you are part of a ship excursion. The duty-free shop in the port security area was quite pricey, but saw a few interesting items, like the note on the cigarette cartons.
M2Travels Agency — Google review
I couldn't find a lot of information on this area while we were in Port. My bad for not doing more research before sailing. I hadn't scheduled an excursion in Cologne, so I stayed on the ship. I heard that there was a place for locals to sell handicrafts and a casino. The view of the city was nice from the upper decks of the ship I was on.

Cruise terminal is okay with the minimum necessities, there is a duty free mall right next to the terminal but the 2-level shopping building is incompleted. However, there are some outdoor sitting areas to relax.
There is really nothing much around except Super99 supermarket and few stores nearby.
Hotel Radisson is about 5-10mins walk from the terminal but it's often busy when there is a cruise and pricy considering the overall surrounding of Colon city. It's better just take a taxi or get a Uber going to Panama city for better and cheaper hotel.
SPNH2233 — Google review
The free trade zone is within easy walking distance from the cruise terminal. There are a few small shops and restaurants immediately next to where the boats dock.

Not very much at the port itself. A few vendors with tee shirts & other souvenirs. About a half mile there's a strip mall with restaurants, groceries, and other shops. Ate some local food at the deli in the grocery & picked up a variety of hot sauces. Worth the walk!

Need actual AC not only the monster fans. I've seen construction going on for a while already. Hope after that this place will be much better.
There's a mall very close with variety.
shops, restaurants and groceries. There's security in all the area. Colon downtown is close by as well, on the older side, but still nice. Friendly people. Just be a bit extra careful while walking around town.
Plaza Paseo Marino is very nice and is also close by (about 10 minutes walk). Chance to walk around or run with a nice ocean breeze at this beautiful plaza
Gatun Lake is a vast man-made body of water that serves as a crucial component of the Panama Canal route. It is tranquil and serene with numerous small islands covered in lush greenery. The water has a lovely green hue, and the climate is warm and breezy. During emergencies, boats are required to standby while passing through Gatun Lake. This lake offers an amazing natural landscape without any other boats in sight, providing an unforgettable experience for those who visit it.
Such a lovely place to visit!

Mike Fritzler — Google review
Gatun Lake is a large artificial lake to the south of Colón, Panama. It forms a major part of the Panama Canal, carrying ships for 33 km of their transit across the Isthmus of Panama. The lake was created between 1907 and 1913 by the building of the Gatun Dam across the Chagres River.
Gatun at the north end of the lake. Its dam (completed 1912) and spillway, a key structure of the Panama Canal, operate at a range of 5 feet (1.5 m) between water levels of 87 and 82 feet (26.5 and 25 m) above sea level. The lake’s main function is to hold sufficient water in the Gaillard Cut to the south, a gorge blasted through the Cordillera, for canal passage and for use in the canal’s locks during dry spells. In the centre of the lake is Guacha Island, a wildlife sanctuary.
Imran Gauri — Google review
If you have the opportunity, stop here during your transit of the Panama Canal. The islets were once the tops of local mountains before the Chagras was dammed. Now they are lush with wildlife. The scenery is spectacular. There is the added bonus of watching the huge ships pass through the canal.
Mardiray — Google review
After the cruise ship we were on went thru The Panama Canal it sailed into this pristine lake. Some of the ship's passengers got off for tours (to be picked back up on the other side of the locks later.) We stayed on the ship and enjoyed the scenery. I took some great photos of ships in Lake Gatun.
Janis H.P. — Google review
Peaceful, quiet, calm, beautiful, warm & breezy with lots of small tree covered islands. Pretty green water and no other boats in sight!
The Gatun Locks, which were established in 1914, comprise the largest sequence of locks in the Panama Canal. These double locks can lift ships up to 85 feet high and offer a spectacular sight for visitors. The four-story visitor center adjacent to the locks provides an excellent view of massive ships passing through the lock chambers. It is truly an engineering marvel and a must-see destination for anyone interested in seeing one of mankind's greatest achievements.
Beautiful sights! Very educational and interesting to see!! Its a bucket list place!!!

Great is a simpler word to recognize this engineering marvel. Passed through the gatun locks on the 8th of April 2022 and my experience was overwhelming.
Sarath Sasikumar — Google review
Went through the original locks today. Amazing engineering over 100 years old! Bucket list definitely! What was nice about this transit was that their was a ‘guide’ narrating the journey over our ship’s speaker system. Lots of facts, each lock 1,000 feet long and almost 150 wide allowing ships with a draft up to 45 ft to transit. The electric train engines don’t pull the ship but are responsible for keeping the ship off the locks’ walls. They do this by tethering themselves to the ship and with four on each side of the ship pulling tight, they managed to keep our ship from ever getting close to the lock walls. Each lock rises and/or falls around 30 feet to get the ship from/to sea level to/from lake level which is eighty—five feet above sea level. The transit dumps twenty-six million gallons of water from Lake Gatun into the two oceans (Pacific and Atlantic) for a total of fifty-two million gallons. The transit started just after 7am and finished around 4pm. What an unbelievable experience!

Interesting going through Gatun lock from start to finish, entering the Atlantic Ocean. It started to rain as the last lock gates opened. I and another passenger stood in the rain on the bow of the ship when the heavens opened up, giving us a drenching. We were soaked but it was wonderful.

Small beautiful beach that contains a popular restaurant with small hotel in the form of cabins. This is ideal for people who want to enjoy a beach with the option of food and huts with seats and tables directly on the sand.
It is not a secluded beach devoid of life. Along your walk on the sand you will pass by the restaurant, huts and modern residences.
One of the best things you can do is stay overnight in one of the cabins. They are directly on the sand. The hotel has security guards at night. That could explain why my night time walks have felt safe even when wondering into the dark areas of the beach.
All my times here have been very pleasant without any incidences. Most of the visitors are families and not rowdy teenagers.
The parking lots are part of the restaurant. But don't feel obligated to buy anything there. Simply walk through the facilities and onto the sand.

Decent zoo with some variety of animals. We expected to see some “exotic” animals, but were disappointed by the experience and only spent about 10-15 minutes inside. Animals were kept in relatively small cages and didn’t seem to be taken care of that well.

it was full of trees and nature which I loved but I was missing more exotic animals like monkeys and other's and not almost only birds, they moved the location of the yellow frog so this exhibit is no longer available, in general i had a lot of fun and i will recommend to go if you are zoo lovers like I am.

There are a lot of animals in this zoo, but it’s mostly birds. The zoo needs better signs for each station. Also the birds seemed thirsty and dirty, I recommend placing a water system that allows the birds to drink water whenever and play in the water too.
Crystal Veno — Google review
Entrance fee for nationals was $4 and for tourists $6. There is parking place just in front of it. It's a decent zoo with some variety of animals. You have to adjust your expectations though because you will be mostly seeing different types of birds and other feather friends. Just a few 'exotic' animals which is a disappointment, having in mind the rich fauna of Panama with so many species of mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The farm-style of the zoo is a positive thing. The poor maintenance is not. Half of the signs with the names of the animals is barely visible. Animals seem hungry and the guard feeding them seemed even more hungry. Seems like the fee money is going somewhere else because it's definitely not going into the zoo maintenance or the employees.
Danieloncarevic — Google review
Nice place to walk around, many people take pictures because of the landscaping. Sad to see animals in cages.
Claudia Rodriguez — Google review
Terrible place! All animals have very small cells! The signs on animals and birds are very bad; the name of many is barely visible. At the same time, the zoo charges a fee for children aged 1 year, but they cannot make a normal path for a baby stroller. As with anything else, walking here can break all your legs!
7 dollars each for foreigners, 3 for under 12. So amazing butterflies, I would say about 12 or more different species, but the quality of the butterflies is huge, so it's so charming for taking videos. Employees are so friendly and kind. It was pouring down rain for our visit BUT all of the staff were very friendly and hospitable. The one girl who showed us around told us that her English wasn't the strongest, however, she explained things very well about the caterpillars/ butterflies presented. There was a nice variety of butterflies that were seen, some even landed on my friends. It's a small space and due to the rain, our feet did get a little wet but if you wear the proper shoes it won't be an issue.

It's called Butterfly Haven, as it is a safe haven for these animals, but it wouldn't be wrong to call it Butterfly hEaven, as it is heaven for butterfly lovers and anyone curious to see the beautiful animals up close. The entrance fee is 5 to 7 dollars per adults, depending on your residency, and includes a tour of 10-15 minutes with one of the guides. You can skip it, if you so wish, but you'd be missing out, as it is very informative about the different species of butterfly and they point out small things you wouldn't be able to see on your own, like butterfly eggs laid on leaves. There are over one thousand butterflies in two separate spaces, so that they can separate the ones that wouldn't "go along" with the others and safeguard also old and weaker butterflies. All can feast on sugar water and sliced mature tropical fruits, which are vey rich in sugar and which the butterflies love especially when they are starting to go and ferment. It is also a rather unique possibility of taking pictures of butterflies from so up close, be it with a camera or even with your smartphone. Highly recommended.

This is my 3rd time staying here and this Hotel is definitely not what it used to be. They use to have a great selection during breakfast since it was "buffet style", now they serve you and there's not much to choose from. I asked one of the servers why was that and her response was because "Covid" even though we went in June 2022! The bar only had one person working who didn't seem very motivated or happy. Rosita the lady at the front desk was absolutely helpful and speaks great English so if you don't speak spanish no worries Rosita will definitely assist. The hotel is very good in every way except ... it is beside a farm that has a rooster that is very loud at 4:30 am.
Therefore bring ear-plugs.

FANTASTIC equestrian experience in the mountains of Santa Fe, Panama! This ride is one not to miss when visiting Panama. My friend and I booked 3 full days riding and had an incredible and diverse adventure. We rode through a local cattle farm, explored a cave, crested mountain peaks with stunning vistas of surrounding valleys, and rode through lush jungle to a refreshing dip in a waterfall. Lizzie's horses are smart, surefooted, forward moving, and incredibly soft and responsive. Lizzie herself is wonderful! It was a blast riding with her and getting to know her and the life she has made in Panama. Her tour is super well organized and offers an authentic experience in Santa Fe. This ride was the highlight of our trip to Panama! DO NOT MISS IT!

This Panama ride is a hidden gem! For so many reasons. Amazing hospitality and customer service. Lizzie was an outstanding guide and host and delightful to spend time with. Lovely horses and varied scenery. Crossing the rivers was a fun challenge. Swimming with the horses and galloping up the dirt roads were also highlights. It felt like a truly local experience. Santa Fe, Panama is a little off the beaten path. You get to experience a taste of life in the countryside in Panama. Great combination of adventure and relaxation. When I wasn’t riding, I was taking in the beautiful mountain views from the patio outside my hotel room. The hotel had delicious food and a beautiful garden full of tropical flowers. I saw small parrots and a hummingbird.

The waterfall hike is extremely difficult if it has been raining. Ask lots of questions ahead of time so you have the right expectations about the waterfall hike. The trail is all signed so you do not really need a guide since other picking some fruit off the trees along the way, there is not much to the hike other than seeing the waterfall. You can do it yourself and save yourself the $45 per person.

I had an amazing day with Lizzie and José. It was the best way to discover different landscape of Santa Fe and the National park.
Lizzie was so helpful since I WhatsApp her until I went back to my hotel.
José was an amazing guide and really knowledgeable.
The horses are really healthy.
And we enjoy the perfect lunch at the organic Farm of Maria.
Everything was perfect. I will definitely recommend it and I hope to be able to come back.

Amazing experience definitely worth it when in Santa Fe! The price might make you consider at first, but it is a unique possibility to explore the beautiful mountains around the town and you can 100% see that it will be invested right back into the animals. Lizzie is a friendly and outgoing guide, her horses were calm, patient and great to handle even for an inexperienced rider. Her dog Max was always there ready to show us the right way. 🤠

Lizzie and Martin are wonderful hosts and know the area so well. They care for their horses so well and the horses are all lovely to ride and perfectly suited for the area. Highly recommend Junglecat Panama if you're visiting Santa Fe

We did an amazing Tour with Lizzy, Capitano and Floresita in February in the Santa Fe jungle. The horses are so calm and beautiful. Lizzy explained a lot about Life in Panama and she always made sure we are save. We visited waterfalls and a cave, which was very interesting. 100% recommendation. Thank you, Lizzy

Elizabeth was an excellent guide, very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and helpful to me as an almost horse riding novice. She led my husband and I on a 3-hour horseback ride and then we had lunch afterwards which was included. The ride was beautiful. She took us across three rivers and we were up and down the valleys surrounding Santa Fe, Panama. The horses were extremely gentle and well cared for. I was nervous about galloping but my husband got to gallop his horse in a couple of areas. I highly recommend JungleCat for wonderful horseback riding in Santa Fe. They also have kayak excursions to the Caribbean coast. If we had more time that would have been fun to do. Elizabeth and her husband Martin are very engaging people.

What a truly wonderful experience - I loved every minute of it: gorgeous trails, stunning views, easy going horses and Elizabeth just being the perfect guide to make you feel safe and happy throughout. Highly recommend!
Lea Huber — Google review
Elizabeth is a wonderful horse tour guide through the small and beautiful Santa Fe! While many outlets let their horses starve almost, these horses are well fed and kept. Since she speaks English, the tour is a bit more accessible than some. The tour is possible even if you are a beginner in good general fitness. If you are lucky, you get horses like Capitan, an awesome and easy going horse. Mantequila can be a bit more challenging, but is super fast if you get the chance to run with the horses on a wide field. If you come by cacao trees, there might be a chance to try the fresh unprocessed fruit. Stay away from other tourist traps like Mitzila in El Valle and come here instead!

I've ridden many times in the past and the experience I had in Santa Fe with Junglecat was, by far, the best.
The horses are well trained, very friendly and very sturdy and safe.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the scenic surroundings of beautiful the beautiful Santa Fe mountains (our route included riding through different parts of the town and with the horses through the river as well as great gallops along the trail).
I was impressed by the professionalism in our experience and at the same time the ability of the staff to be flexible.
I very much recommend this experience for anyone who would like to have the best authentic mountain horseback riding experience (suitable for large groups, small groups, and families alike).
We will DEFINITELY make an effort to come back and redo our awesome riding experience with Junglecat.

We had some wonderful horse rides and some really nice horses. Usually when you go on a trail ride you’re stuck on a horse that won’t do anything but walk behind the horse in front of it and this was not that! We got to gallop along the beach and it was incredible!
Lize also does a great job with the yoga. Truly a great experience.

We took the beach horse ride tour and it was fabulous! Gama is an excellent guide and even though we had very little prior horse riding experience we had no problems and found it easy to ride. Gama also provided local history along the tour and gave us some time to explore the beach and river midway through the tour.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone with any level of horse riding experience!!!

My friend and I loved every moment of the horse riding trip with Gama. The scenery was beautiful, through long grass, down to the mangroves, up to viewpoints where you could see for miles. We learnt lots along the way about medicinal plants traditionally used and how to ride western style - something completely new to us. The horses were perfectly behaved, we had so much fun and didn’t want it to end! Gama and Lize are great people, super friendly and helpful and made sure that the ride was well adapted to our interests and horse riding level even as experienced riders. Thank you!

We had an amazing experience with the Indigenous Tribe Tour. Our guide had a personal connection with the members of the Indigenous family which allowed us to really see their way of life in a manner that was not exploiting. It was fascinating for my kids as well to see how people live outside of a first world, modern society. Highly recommended and an experience I will remember for many years.

This is the third time we go for a ride with Gama and we will certainly come back. The horses are very well behaving so you feel really safe and of course Gama is there all the time . Gama knows everything about Panamas ; plants, animals and landscape so it’s very interesting.
We love the tour on the beach of course but you must try the tour in the landscape behind on Gamas family’s property because you will have another experience and some breathtaking views.
Many thanks to Gama and also to Lisa , his wife who does the booking and takes care of you before and after the ride. Sanna and Thierry

My daughter really enjoyed the horse riding tour with Gama. Even though she can't speak Spanish, Gama still managed to explain a lot. She is an advanced rider but has never rode Western style before, she usually does dressage. She really enjoyed galloping on the beach and learned a few great skills. I would definitely recommend going on this tour with Gama, advanced or beginner.

My friend and I fished with Come fish Panama, January 2023 for four days. The guys put us on the fish every day all day, rooster fish, red snappers, Cubera snappers, tuna, bonito, African pompano, mahi… perfect gear, clean boats, good lunches, and cold drinks and fruit in the afternoon. The Captain and mate work and work to ensure you have a quality and successful trip. Fishing the Hannibal Bank is amazing, with an incredibly fertile upwelling with Islands nearby. In shore fishing for Rooster fish trolling around volcanic pinnacles is both beautiful, relaxing and fulfilling. If you are tired of fishing, the Captain can take you to a white sand island for a swim. Truly memorable fishing and great lodging. Brent Simon

Panama is an annual destination for my wife and I. Seven consecutive years of amazing tropical fishing. I have fished two operations during this time, and I am pleased to say that the last 4 have been with ComeFishPanama. I am positive that I have found the only source I need to take advantage of the amazing fishery in the gulf of Chiriqui. The other operation was good, but Kerry Leggett's operation has proven to be the best. From top-notch boats and crew, to amazing resort-style accommodations and food, it's a real treat to fish with ComeFishPanama! One of the things that really stand out is Kerry Leggett himself. Very professional and customer service oriented, Kerry will do his best to provide you the fishing experience of your dreams. As far as the fishing goes, of course its amazing. And all the operations down there in the Gulf of Chiriqui fish the same water, for the most part. What it really boils down to at the end of the day for me is expert, motivated boat crews that work hard to put the boat on fish and great food and accommodations. The Bocas Del Mar Resort provides a perfect jumping off point, with luxury accommodations, gourmet food and good customer service. Five Star on all levels! The fishing is 5 star, too! Check out the photos from many epic days of fishing with ComeFishPanama. Highly recommended. You will be stoked with the ComeFishPanama experience.
This is a very nice place to visit. I've been to other hot springs but none like this. Be prepared as there's a pretty good little hike from the parking lot down to the entrance. But upon entering it's a beautiful little farm right off of the Caldera River. The Hot springs themselves were hot as advertised. We enjoyed our approximately 2 hours stay. There's a small changing room. Make sure to wear your flip-flops around the property. Some people venture down to the river for a cool rinse. Watch your step is there's Rocky terrain all over. This was definitely an adventure to get there and while we were there but worth it. I'd also have someone local take you there as opposed to figuring it out on your own. Recommend.
Chris Guella — Google review
This is not the correct address for entering the hot springs.
All roads are private property and are behind locked gates.
We followed the road to the hydroplant and found the bridge you are meant to enter and it is very much closed!
Nicola Greenaway — Google review
The area has 3 or 4 small hot wells, its out in the middle of no where, if you take transportation they drop you off several miles away and their last pick up is 3:30 pm.
We had a car, and you have to be really careful due to rocky road. We gave some girls who were trying to walk out of area with flip flops to catch bus.
Be nice and if you see people walking back, offer a ride.
The river is great, nice and cold, no crowds. No glass allowed, or liquor.
We brought our pick nick and a flask of wine. Make sure to take all of your garbage with you. On the way to car I picked up cans, plastic tops, beer caps etc. So be nice and help keep it clean.
It's an inexpensive and rewarding trip, if you have a car, or take a tour 4x4 that takes you at least where cars park.

Very remote hot springs with two hot bath. Very close to the river.
Long drive on a dirt road to get there. 4x4 recommended.

t would be advisable to set your expectations as you think of visiting the Caldera Hot Springs.
1. You must have a good car e.g. an SUV or a pick up truck. Certain sections of the road are full of huge pot holes.
2. Be able to walk on rough rocky path for about 1.5KM.
3. Be aware that there are no changing rooms or restrooms or showers.
4. Be ready to share the small warm to hot water holes with others. Not very easy to get into.
5. There are no signs to tell you where to go and you have to walk over uneven paths to figure it out.
6. Lastly be ready to pay a civilian $3 per person and you get NO receipt for it. Not sure if this is legit.
7. Once done with the sit-in you may very carefully walk down to the river and soak in the cold water to clean up.
Below are the directions:
Turn on to route 10 from route 41. Go for about 12KM through the village of Caldera (Via a Caldera) and turn right. You will see a small BLUE sign as per photo saying “POZOS TERMINALES”.
From this turn go about 8KM till you the BLUE sign and turn left. From this turn to the parking lot is about 2KM. From the parking lot to the Hot Springs is about 1.5KM walking over rough stones.

We liked the hot springs but in the end spent more time in the nearby cold River which is clean and fun

GoogleMaps sent us to a private property we couldn't access. Follow the signs!!! 4×4 very recommended. Tough road with big potholes. Take comfy shoes cause you have to hike a bit. The springs themselves are small (3-5 people per pool) but are very hot.
Augusto Hou — Google review
This was a little bit of an adventure to get to. Google maps directed us to a gated farm with signs saying "private property" and we had to backtrack to a turn off with a sign saying hot springs. This took us down a very rough, bumpy dirt road. My parents made it most of the way down the road in their rental car, but I honestly don't recommend trying in anything that small. Then we crosses two bridges (the first across a canal and the second is a suspension bridge). When you've crossed the suspension bridge you are almost there and just have to turn left and drive up a short, really rough road to a small parking area. After that you set off on a 15 minute trek through the jungle until you get to a small farm and pay the owner of the house $3 per person. If you're a tourist you may be thinking "where the heck am I?" because it isn't obviously anything besides a farm, but if you wait for the owner to come out and you pay he'll give you a little tour and instructions and the entire area is quite delightful. We went with my parents and my three kids and everyone really enjoyed their time and the rustic experience, but we had several moments on the way there of wondering if we were going to make it and whether we were headed the right way. Google maps wasn't entirely helpful.
quinn rose — Google review
The road here is mostly paved until you turn off to the springs. I don't recommend sedans or lower vehicles due to the unfinished road. A kind local gave us a ride to the springs and then came to get us after we were finished. The cost is $3 per person to access the hot springs.
Rhaiza G — Google review
The location is a bit secluded, wear sneakers since you must walk like 5 min. The place only has 1 or 2 springs that you really can enjoy. The river is cold and nice, I don't recommend slippers since it is slippery.
Fernando Pineda — Google review
Journey: you leave the main road where there is a big blue sign with a picture of the hot springs and you turn left. It's then a 15 minute careful drive down a non tarmac road where you go over two bridges. Once you're across you head left and go up a steep hill to where another blue sign indicating the car park about 100 m.
After parking, you walk down a steep rocky path across a river and two bridges probably 500 m or 10 minute walk. Once you arrive you are met by the owner who asks for $3 per person.
Hot Springs:
There is two changing huts. The river is lovely and then they have two hot springs Waldorf by stone walls. There were numerous locals who were very friendly and the hot spring we went into was over 40 degrees.
Would recommend if you're in the area and want an adventure.
Andy Jones — Google review
Very raw. We took a cab to the place and with 5 people, we paid $10. It saved us 20 mins of walking and time for not waiting for a bus. It is muddy to get there but with proper shoes, it's not a problem. There's 2 spots. One is bigger could fit approximately 10 to 12 people. the other is smaller it could fit 6 people. You cool off at the river but you cannot go far out since the current is very strong. The place is owned by a local family. It costs $2. The hike there is easy and very fresh and peaceful. You will he hiking on rocks but as I said, with proper shoes, it is manageable.

If you are in a sedan DO NOT drive up the hill after the red bridge. We did but our rental surely doesn’t thank us. Amazing natural hot springs on a secluded farm. $3 to get in and completely worth it. No food or water to drink so be sure to bring some if you will stay here a long time

I'll never travel to Boquete without this trip planner again
Nestled in the picturesque highlands of Chiriqui, Boquete is a charming mountain town that has become a sought-after destination for those seeking cooler climates. The town offers an array of outdoor activities, including exploring a volcano, river adventures, and mountain forest hikes. Boquete Brewing Company is a popular spot among both locals and expats, offering cold beer and live music for an enjoyable nightlife experience.
Visited during the week and on Saturday. Good beer and good ambiance. As a dark beer/ stout lover it would be great if you had a selection....Then again it might not make economical sense if only for a few. Thank you for the entertainment... Good tunes Thanks

Good local brewery. We visited 5 years earlier and to be honest it was a calmer experience and the actual brewers were there and great to talk to.
It was just younger staff now who were nice enough but not as talkative to a non Spanish speaker. However, the beers remain great and they have a great selection in their fridge that you can choose from too.

Fun evening hangout! Great selection of beers and you can order flights of 4 to try a range of them - some really interesting ones including the coffee (porter) and strawberry beer. We went on a Wednesday and there was live music, if you play an instrument or sing you can put your name down to join in which was cool. Great atmosphere and really nice place to spend the evening socialising

Do not go here. This could be such a nice place to go to. You have a brewery, so should be a nice experience. Well it’s not at all. The bartenders are not interested or friendly or helpful. Expensive place. Never again

Beer is great and the location, but the staff really let the place down, you feel like you are bothering them when you order a beer, no warmth, no involvement or interaction. I visit many breweries and always the staff are knowledgeable about the beers served and share guidance, not just stand around trying to look cool. I can buy the beer down the street and bring home for a better atmosphere and save time and money. Visiting the brewery adds no value.

I was really looking forward to visiting Boquete Brewing! I think your mileage may vary. Here's mine.
Staff - The guys working the two bars were fine. The lady working the main bar seemed irritated that any customers were arriving. I ordered a beer and then after pouring it she says it has a special price. $6+ not $3.75. I took a photo of the wall. No mention anywhere regarding a special price for anything on the wall.
Vibe - Overall a cool place. Good vibes and I think live music would be cool here. The only negative is that for some reason the generator outside kicked on midway through our visit. No idea why since all other establishments had power but maybe there was an issue. Minor thing really.
Food - Skip the food truck completely. Terrible. It's the equivalent to a Sysco truck. Premade burgers with no flavor, the worst fries I have ever had. I wish I had taken a photo to warn others.
So overall, good beer, one person on the service team cared more about talking to her coworkers than customers, decent vibe.

We have had a good experience with all other bars in Boquete. This one was horrible. The guy and girl behind the bar were not friendly what so ever. We tried to initiate conversation with them. Just saying hello. How are you things like that.. they completely ignored us. One occasion they wouldn’t even look at us. No one else was at the bar and they just refused to serve us just stared at their phones. No smiles. No attentiveness. Just simply rude. We tried 3 different times to see if the mood would change and every time they were just as rude. They made us feel very uncomfortable and very unwelcomed. The other poor reviews on here from 1-2 years ago were the exact situation my boyfriend and I experienced. We will not be coming back. If you want a good bartender experience go to butcher and Giselle.

The Lost Waterfalls, also known as Las Tres Cascadas, is a jungle hiking destination that features three waterfalls with natural pools and an abundance of wildlife like quetzals and snakes. The trails are well-marked and easy to follow, making for a pleasant hike. However, visitors should note that the park closes at 4pm and there is a $10 per person entrance fee, which may be considered expensive for a Latin American hiking experience.
Great hike. Very good waterfalls. The only reason I say very good and not downright amazing is more just because of my waterfall experience. Travelling a lot in Costa Rica and really around the world I have been to a ton of waterfalls. These I would not list as the best but they are beautiful and it is a great hike. I love the beginning of it where you get views of the valley and some farming on the mountains. Also the large pine trees

These waterfalls are so beautiful and pristine! The hike is steep, but worth it! If your in good shape, it’s very easy. If not, I could see it being difficult. There is a very steep section you have to use a rope to get up and down.

Beautiful hike with 3 waterfalls. We ended up parking our car at the entrance near the pipeline trail and walking about 0.6 miles on the road to the right of the pipeline trail to the entrance of the lost waterfalls trail. This part was paved and mostly uphill, but there is parking close to the entrance of the lost waterfalls too. Entrance fee was $10 per person but was worth it and felt like the trails were well maintained.
From someone who lives normally at zero elevation, the hike was difficult but manageable for someone who is in shape. It took us 3.5 hours to complete including stopping at each waterfall and swimming in 2 of the waterfalls. Waterfall 2&3 can be swam in, water was cold but worth the experience to swim. It is cooler on this hike as it is very shaded from the trees and higher elevation than in Boquete. Areas of the hike are steep with some of the portions with ropes to assist getting up and down. Overall, I recommend this hike, we had fun!

That is an amazing trek, not the easiest one and for good hiking shoes only, but absolutely worth the effort! You do not need a guide for this one (if you have own transport to bring you to the starting point). The path to the 1st waterfall is rather easy, the difficulty increasing with each waterfall. We lived it!

Just so everyone knows it is 10 dollars per person. We've done a lot of hiking in our lives and one of the reasons we enjoy it is because it is cheap. However they do have to do a bit of trail maintenance and the lady we paid mentioned that a lot of the money goes back to local preservation and indigenous communities. It is a slippery trail so wear good shoes. Lots of uphill/downhill.

Nice waterfalls. You can easily take a bus here for 2.5 dollars and then hike up. Entry is 10 dollars. If you wanna swim, be aware that you can only swim in waterfalls 2 and 3. It's a nice hike, not that exhausting. Some parts there are ropes, so you don't fall climbing up or down.

Nice hike, trails are easy to follow. Lots of signage. It closes at 4pm, so plan accordingly. The hike took about an hour one way to falls #2, obviously this depends on your health, fitness level, and the weather (it was dry). Note the hike will cost you $10 per person to enter, so quite expensive considering your in Latin America for a hike. Parking is on the street and is limited. The person at the gate house where you pay was very friendly and helpful.

2/3 waterfalls reached. It has spectular views. From the moment you leace your car nearby and star hiking, there is something to look at. It was lke $8 per person to enter the trail. It is well maintained so I guess its fine but we didnt know this beforehand. Good shoes are recommended because theres a lot of loose rock and mud. Maybe bring an extra pair of pants if youre gonna dip in the first waterfall and then continue to the third one. It is very cold. I have to go again and complete the trail.

5 stars for the hike, 1 star for how poorly the trail is maintained at some points and the entrance fee (10 dollars per person is absurd - especially considering the condition of the trail). The hike takes 15 minutes up to the entrance and then 1 hour back and forth so in total between 2-2,5 hours. Wear proper hiking shoes and be prepared to get very muddy. The waterfalls are gorgeous and the views are well worth the effort

Medium to Hard Hike. I am 62 with improving knees and I was able to do it. I used a guide Jose who was awsome. There is a rope part which was helpful to have a guide. Any one who is injured free and young should have no problem. Very slipper and muddy worst in the winter I was told. Hiking pole was helpful. Drink lots of water eat breakfast or lunch before you go

My partner and I decided to do this hike on our own and we did not regret it! There are a lot of reviews complaining about the $10 entry fee but the property managers maintain the trail and the experience at the waterfalls is breathtaking! I do think you need to be comfortable with hiking over rocks and slippery terrain. Would do it again in hotter weather!

Inflation takes its toll, right now you got to pay 10 bucks each to enter the private property. Apart from this annoyment we enjoyed the hike to the three cascades a lot. The paths wind cleverly through the rising terrain and they are partly secured by wooden steps. At some point you have to use ropes to manage the steep climbs - a challenging task, especially in the rain. You will get rewarded by nice views into the rainforest and on the three cascades, which don't break any records but are beautiful to look at and provide an opportunity for swimming if you can tolerate cold water.

Nice but way more demanding than described in official tours. The waterfalls are nice but even I as a non hiker have seen some on comparable level

Wonderful hike with beautiful views. Challenging at times. Muddy. Bring plenty of water and take your time. It took me, my wife, 9yr old and 12 yr daughters about 3 hours to get there and back. We did plenty of stops to take videos, pictures, and catch our breath.

I think the path up to the entrance cabin was the toughest part because it's steep. You cross a bridge that only monkeys are allowed to jump across, humans have to walk. There's some chickens, colorful flowers, and view of the volcano (covered in clouds when we went).
We went on a relatively dry day and got a bit muddy. You might get more muddy if there was more rain. None of us slipped once!
There's lots of railings and ropes to help going up and downhill. I think the paths look harder than they actually are, but it is uphill and downhill the whole time. Took us 2.5 hours roundtrip.
My favorite was waterfall #2! It was $10 entry and they have a toilet with a sink you can use before and/or after the hike. No door for the bathroom but you get a good view of the volcano while on the toilet 😂 The trail stops allowing entry at 3pm, so don't arrive too late!
Very beautiful and short hike up the trail to a waterfall. The waterfall isn't so impressive, but the jungle hike is very pretty. And there's always a chance of encountering a Quetzal!

Great hike. Admission was $5 per person. The hike is rated easy to moderate. Trip starts out on an old gravel road that is somewhat washed out in sections but very walkable. About mid way, it changes to a path that is clearly marked and easy to follow. We took 3 hours to hike in and back and took our time (seniors). It's a very good hike if you're looking for something easier than the 3 waterfalls hike in this same area.

Moderately easy hike through the jungle. To get there we took the bus from the town up to the beginning of the trail. There you pay 5$ and ‘sign in’ by giving some basic information. The hike is one trail up and down so you can’t get lost. Whilst there isn’t much wildlife, the trees and plants are stunning. Particular highlights are the 1000 year old tree, and the beautiful waterfall that marks the end of the trail - a great place to dip your head under and cool down before returning.
The whole hike we kept our heads up to find a quetzal and our attempts paid off when we saw one fly past the 1000 year old tree ( apparently there’s a nest inside it) and later on when a group before us had spotted one sat in a tree next to the trail. They had spotted it by recognising the sound of it and then stopping to locate it so if you’re hoping to find one yourself then do your research on how they sound! It’s a beautiful animal and a beautiful hike

Totally not worth the 5$ emtrance fee per person. We picked up som trash on trail. This hike should be for free... along the trail you will see nothing interesting just pipeline... at the end you will see waterfall. That's it...

Great hike. Definitely more on the easy (vs moderate side). It is gradually uphill all the way out, then downhill on the return. The end of the trail was a little unclear, but we were able to get to the tall waterfall.

Had a really nice hike. I went with a guide who offered a lot of neat information and helped spot birds even though it was a bit out of season for the Quetzal.
For the trial itself it is very clear (although I'm told there is a washout near the end which I didn't get to). There is a thousand year old tree which was neat. The hike is easy but it is a bit of a drive out of the town. There are a few points where you get a bit of a view but do this hike to see the birds and forest not for views.

We started this hike at 11:30am and finished it around 2:30pm. Entrance fee was $5 per person (for us). I consider myself a fit individual and with the elevation it wasn’t that easy of a hike. The rocks can be very slippery and wobbly, uneven ground. You must pay attention to where you’re stepping. There is a sign that says “no pase peligro ” towards the end of the trail , you must go past that several feet to see the actual waterfall. You go on this hike to enjoy the jungle views of Panamá. As well as to see the impressively old tree. It was very pretty, seeing all the plants, flowers, and trees. Wear good sturdy shoes, and be prepared for rain. Bring snacks, and water.

Path to waterfall is closed and rather dangeroes. Still it is possible to go there by continuing the track after the end of track sign. Waterfall is quite high but not as pritty as during the lost waterfall trail. Also, the hiking is through less dense forest than with the waterfall trail. The 1000 year old tree is insanely big (see picture). I do recomment this trail (5$ pp) but the lost waterfall trail (10$) and il pianista (free but guide advised; however possible with good preparation) are more beautifull.

Well-maintained hiking trail along a river and a pipeline. Our hike took just over 2 hours, although we weren't able to stop for photos much due to the heavy rain.
At the entrance is a friendly woman who will collect a $5 toll. She also gave us some helpful tips: there's a risk of mudslides during rainy season, but as long as the river runs clear, you're safe. The river turned muddy just as we reached the falls at the top, so we turned back right away. (See photos for clear vs. muddy).
The first km is a wide rocky path, but then you will start crossing the river every few minutes, across a footbridge, some rocks, fallen logs, and even a few sets of metal pipes. By then you'll be in dense forest with lots of beautiful tropical plants. We enjoyed the hike a lot, despite the rain! Wear grippy shoes if it's rainy season.

Hike was very relaxing. Some have stated it is fairly flat but just a note you will climb over 200 meters on the way up to the waterfall. The old tree is special.

This is a great hike. About 20 minutes from town by car but the hike is worth it. We saw monkeys, sloth, exotic birds, and so much interesting vegetation. We paid for a guided hike with Boutique Outdoor Adventure and it was worth it since the local and historical knowledge was fantastic. Recommend.

Everyone says this is a nice easy trail. I have no idea what they are talking about. I'm a very fit 50 yr old and it was uphill on a very rocky path half the way and a less rocky but still difficult path where you need to watch your step. It might not be as steep and muddy as the 3 waterfall trail but I was out of breath after the first hour and still didn't reach the waterfall even after 1 hr 20 min. Unless you really like fast will take almost 2 hrs to reach the waterfall which is not that impressive. Lots of bubbling brooks along the way and nice crossings. We didn't see a single bird despite the beautiful weather, nor monkeys or any other fauna. If you go on this hike it's for the atmosphere, the jungle view, the beautiful flora and trees and bromeliads growing out of them. Plan for MINIMUM 3 hrs and more expensive than people say. The lady who owns the land now asks for $5/pp (everyone posts $3/pp) and the taxi from Boquete will cost about $10.

They have a tree over 1,000 years old which is real cool! The hidden waterfall at the end was nice. Have to cross some streams and there was also a fallen tree across the path closer to the waterfall, looked struck by lightning ⚡ you can climb over or squeeze under it fine. The waterfall itself is real pretty. The farmlands at the beginning of the hike were beautiful on the sunny day we visited! Saw baby cows and a big pig. You can buy drinks and snacks where you buy your ticket.
We stopped a few times, so this hike took us around 3 hours. We also did the 3 waterfalls hike beforehand. Took us maybe 15 minutes to walk from there to the pipeline trail. This one is flatter than 3 waterfalls but took us longer. We met others who did this hike in 1.5 hours, so it's possible to do it faster.

An absolutely must see place in boquete. Entrance is cheap at around 5 bucks for an unforgettable hike. I was one of the lucky ones to see the incredibly magnificent and colorful quetzal bird on this trail.

It was an easy hike and saw a few monkeys in the tree tops. The waterfall is a bet meh but the journey is wonderful.

Don’t skip this! We went in March and seen a Quetzal and lots of other birds. It’s a very easy hike. It’ll take you roughly a hour to get to the waterfall. You can walk right up to it. And the 1,000 year old tree is amazing. Paid $5 per person which is no problem. It’s well worth it.
