Well known for the mountain Gorillas but this is the most beautiful place to be in Uganda. The temperatures in this forest are so cool and looking at the canopy of the forest itself is eye catching. Surely the impenetrable bit is only seen when you decide to go within the forest as you will have to have something like a panga to clear your own way. Ask those who have carried out the Gorilla trekking activities. A visit is the worthy to it especially for the bird watchers.
BRIAN BAISWIKE — Google review
Bwindi is the epitome of diversity for botany, bird life and wildlife. Absolutely beautiful! Well deserved world heritage site!

Lovely place, best for Gorillas visit, groups are very small and you are coming close to Silverback and others. The guides are professional and polite, this is the best we have seen in Uganda.

Visiting the gorillas is one of the most exciting things I've ever done. The march was very hard due to the ascent and especially the descent, we had bad luck with the group that was assigned to us. The meeting was pure magic and emotion. There are no words to describe it. The rangers bring you closer to the gorillas and the feeling is unreal. The animals look at you but follow their business naturally. You can't get close, but they can... and they know it.
totally worth it

This was the most challenging, but the most remarkable experience in my life. This forest is really Impenetrable. We had 8 hours gorilla 🦍 tracking with sliding into the wood and climbing again to find mountain gorillas. But when you find them, all the tiredness will disappear 🫠. You need to be in a good shape for this experience.
Serhii Shulha — Google review
An amazing forest where you can see gorillas, other primates, chameleons, and if you are lucky even mountain elephants. The trail to the swamp is perfect for birdwatching, but avoid going there if you don't like sweating. The hill you have to climb on the way back is pretty steep.
As in any other forest, you need insect repellent and long clothes.

A simply awesome and will orchestrated Gorilla Trek led by a most leader and most attentive porters to help you traverse the steep, muddy slopes.

Hard to find the words - a spectacular experience. Guides, guards, porters could not have done more than they did. 5 to 7 meters away from a fully grown Silver Back Gorilla and his family.

If anything stands out the most at Kyambura lodge, its the incredible service, kindness and helpfulness of all the staff. Warm thanks to the incredible Immaculate who looked after us during our stay and made sure we didn’t want for anything.Priscilla was always available for queries and was quick to help in whichever way she could. The backend staff definitely did a good job as the food was very delicious and always fresh and the rooms always clean. Breakfast at the piazza under the fig tree is such a joy. The gorge walk was lovely (our tot managed it) and the location is very close to Katunguru bridge where you can arrange safari’s and boat cruise to see hippos and elephants. We saw many elephants along the road that we skipped the game drive altogether in prefering to relax at the lodge.
Con:
I would have preferred clean white towels in the room. The colored towels would be perfect for the pool as opposed to the sheets
The kyambura cafe would be great to end the walk with some coffees and pastries

Excellent coffee and great welcome. I have a debt and a date to stay at the lodge and experience the night roar of the river Kyambura and wake up to the laughing of the monkeys and chirping of the birds.

Just had time to say some quick hellos to Priscilla and Isaiah this week, while I was en route to Mweya.

We spent three nights at the lodge, using it as a basecamp for the Kazinga channel and other local activities (gorge walk, planting trees...). The lodge is located at the edge of the gorge, with open views on the savanna. Staff is really welcoming and helpful, food is amazing. What else is needed? Nothing from our standpoint. Thank you Priscilla, Gerald and all the others for making our stay memorable.

A wonderful, luxurious lodge overlooking the Kyambura Gorge, with views over Queen Elizabeth National Park. The staff are fantastic, with each room being assigned a butler for the duration of your stay. The rooms are very well appointed. There is a pool and a massage spa. The meals are excellent. A lot of thought has gone into the menu choice, with continental and local options. Keep it up!
Mohit Advani — Google review
A most enjoyable experience. On our arrival, we were met by a welcoming party with a song. Our stay at Kyambura Gorge Lodge was only for one night, we wished we had stayed for longer. The staff were very friendly and appeared delighted to serve and needed no excuse to break into a song. The food was really good served in a room with warm ambience. Had to leave early following morning, so wake up call was accompanied by tea. We loved our time at the lodge, wish it had been a longer stay.
Sharad Karia — Google review
This is an absolute gem in the wild! The lodge is delicately perched on the edge of Kyambura Gorge - an 11 kilometer below ground forest that is home to a surprising number of exciting species including over 200 bird species, elephants, hippos wallowing in the slow sections of the thundering Kyambura River, and six different primate species among which is a family of 27 chimpanzees.
The lodging is great; a design that is reminiscent of structures from the colonial era in Africa, with a contemporary touch and all blended with the natural environment - if all that makes sense 😁
The service is out of this world; there are just a few staff on call, but they cover every inch of your needs, when you need it, and the service is delivered how you want it, and with a smile.
But most importantly, Kyambura Gorge Lodge is more than just a safari lodge. At the center of their operations is the drive to care for the community and the Kyambura Gorge wild ecosystem. Volcanoes Safaris - the parent company of the lodge, puts back a proportion of their profits towards restoring and caring for the depleted forest. They have restored an entire wetland, and plated hundreds of thousands a of trees, giving a new lease of life to the wildlife in this intricately unique ecosystem. The company has also supported the adjacent (largely poor) rural community with enterprises that, not only props up their livelihoods, but also provide a vital alternative to dependence on the wildlife ecosystem.
This lodge is worth every dime you pay... You get immersed in its great design, ambience, and pampering service, while making a significant positive difference to the wildlife and the community - what more can you ask for?!

I don't know how this could have only 4.4 Stars on google. This is hands down a five-star lodge. Beautiful setting, spectacular service. The butler service, especially from Beatrice, was beyond expectations.
Annabel Golden — Google review
If I could give 6 stars I would! Beautifully landscaped lodge, perfectly located along the Kyambura gorge and queen Elizabeth National park. The cottages are spacious and each has a unique view. If you're not on a game drive take a guided walk to the gorge and waterfall (if you're lucky you'll see chimps), go for a swim or enjoy a massage. This resort is in my top 3 holiday destinations in Uganda.
The Kazinga Channel is a significant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Western Uganda, connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The park boasts diverse ecosystems, including Savannah grasslands in Kasenyi plains where visitors can spot various animals like Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants, buffaloes, lions, and leopards.
Kazinga Channel is located in Queen Elizabeth National park in the western arm of the rift valley. It is one of the places that are below the sea level.
The channel contest Lakes Edward and George, and forms a great habitat for aquatic life including hippos, crocodiles and fish among others. Most big animals; Elenphants, Buffalos, make this place their drinking point.
The channel is ideal for bird watching with a Jetty and various boat for cruising across the channel.
At the hills of the channel are a number of safari lodges and an information centre.

PLASTIC WASTE!
This would be a wonderful place apart from humans who do the best in destroying this beautiful piece of nature!
I asked several people and there is no sustainable way of dealing with plastic. The channel became the garbage and the town next to it is drowning in plastic everywhere.
Absolutely horrendous and sad.

Game viewing from a boat! Really nice experience although short because the hippos, crocodiles, birds, elephants and all other animals are on one side either watching you as you pass by with the boat or uninterested as they drink the water. Those hippos are huge. My most enjoyable boat ride. A pair of binoculars will come in handy

The Kazinga Channel is a link between Lake Edward and Lake George. It is located in Western Uganda and, 32-kilometre (20 mi) wide with it’s most dominant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the world's largest concentration of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles.
Lake George is a small lake with an average depth of only 2.4 metres (7.9 ft) and which is fed by streams from the Rwenzori mountains. Its outflow is through the Kazinga Channel which drains into Lake Edward, water levels fluctuating very little.

Very beautiful place especially in summer. All the animals come down to the water to drink and swim; about midday. Its a very beautiful spectacle if you are there at the right time. You can see many species of birds, elephants, hippos, buffaloes and crocodiles. There is always a one hour boat ride. Its a wonderful experience

Ngamba Chimpanzee sanctuary, situated on a lush island in Lake Victoria, offers a haven for numerous rescued chimpanzees. This idyllic forested retreat is an ideal destination for all nature enthusiasts, particularly those with a fondness for these intelligent primates. The sanctuary stands out due to its unique feature of naming each chimpanzee under its care. Visitors can partake in various engaging activities during their stay, including chimp feeding and fishing excursions.
One of the place that everyone must visit if you are in Entebbe. From the reception until the end it was fabulous. The guide was knowledgeable and amazing. The Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary is well preserved and managed.

The Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre is a well-maintained animal sanctuary that offers a variety of rides and play areas for children. The habitat provides a safe and natural environment for animals such as giraffes, eagles, crocodiles, rhinos, gazelles and lions to roam freely. Visitors can explore the area on their own with the help of informative signage placed throughout. This makes it an ideal destination for families looking for an educational outing over the weekend.
A short distance from Kampala, easy to reach because of the Expressway, this wildlife centre is a BEAUTIFUL place to spend time in: the animals in natural environment, lovely green enclosures, very relaxed and contented-looking, and a great bar/restaurant at the edge of the vast lake. It's a MUST-DO trip. The staff very helpful and obviously committed to the care of the animals.

It was more than just a visit. My friends and I decided we should have a short safari retreat after many months of not traveling. We were missing the fun.
Our behind the scene experience was conducted by a joyful woman by names of Rachel. She was such a darling when it came to sharing amazing stories about wildlife and how to handle the animals at the zoo. Thank you very much Rachel.
My highlight was feeding the giraffes, touching the rhino and being in a close contact with the king of the jungle. Can't believe how scaring it is. Will indeed come back for behind the scene experience.

Great place to see some animals! They have a large selection and you can see elephants, tigers, leopards, zebra etc. You can also see snakes and other animals, there is also a boat ride that you can book, not sure of its timings though. They also have giraffes, monkeys and rhinos too.
Great place to bring kids and groups, you can also get food and drinks here whilst overlooking lake Victoria.
Great place to spend the day, see the animals, grab a bite to eat and something to drink and enjoy the views!

Very big and interesting Zoo. Lot of animals (cheetah - leopard - tiger - lion - éléphant - girafes - chimpanzees - rhino etc). You have possibility to do "behind the scene" visit and go closer to few animals and feed them (rhino - giraffe and chimpanzees).
No expensive and you don’t need a give, there are signs to help you to find animals case

As the golden sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the savannah, I found myself standing in awe amidst the vastness of Uganda's wilderness. Surrounded by towering acacia trees and the distant calls of unseen creatures, I felt a deep connection to nature unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
As I embarked on a guided safari through the heart of the Murchison Falls National Park, every moment seemed to unfold like a scene from a documentary. We encountered a majestic herd of elephants, their gentle giants lumbering gracefully across the plains, while a family of giraffes elegantly stretched their necks to reach the tender leaves of the trees.
But it was when we stumbled upon a pride of lions, basking lazily in the afternoon sun, that the true essence of Uganda's wildlife conservation efforts became apparent. Our guide shared stories of how these magnificent creatures had once teetered on the brink of extinction, hunted relentlessly for their prized pelts and bones. Yet, through dedicated conservation initiatives and the tireless efforts of park rangers, their populations had begun to rebound, offering a glimmer of hope for their future survival.
As I watched the lions interact with one another, playfully wrestling and grooming, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to witness such raw beauty firsthand. In that moment, I realized the profound impact that responsible tourism and conservation efforts can have on preserving our planet's most precious ecosystems for generations to come.
Leaving the wilderness behind, I carried with me not only memories of Uganda's breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife but also a renewed commitment to advocating for the protection of our natural world. For in the end, it is only through our collective efforts that we can ensure the survival of all creatures great and small.

Myself and five others today had the chance to do the behind the scenes tour and I believe it’s one of the best things I’ve done in Uganda. It’s hundreds of dollars cheaper than a safari and you get close up encounters with 3 of the big 5 animals of Africa, and also rare birds, cheetahs, and giraffes.
Our tour guides name was Thompson and he wasn’t only a great guide but he was also very passionate and the conversation work and had nothing but love and respect for the animals. We got to encounter each Big 5 animal of Africa. You get up close encounters with the giraffes, lions, and rhinos. You are also able to help the zoo keeper/tour guide feed the chimpanzees, rhinos, giraffes, and a visit in the enclosure of the very rare and very beautiful shoe bill stork.
I cannot praise this place more on how well they treat their guests but also their ethics in which they treat their animals.
Garrett Renner — Google review
Lovely, small zoo. Just don't expect quick service and the restaurant. We waited more than an hour for our food (in their defense, they were quite busy, but they could've alerted us that there was a long wait!) All in all the restaurant took up 2 hours of our time, which I felt was excessive. The animals are kept in spacious enclosures and seem to be taken care off quite well. We even saw a shoebill!

World class availability of animals. More exciting is the Mr. Lion as you watch him with the wife resting in their cubicle. The sleeping anaconda like snakes, the giant crocodiles not forgetting the beautiful elegant crested cranes etc

Ugandas biggest conservation Centre with lots of animals ranging from giraffes 🦒,Lions , chimpanzees, tigers 🐅, snakes 🐍 bird species, rhinos, buffaloes and lots of other animal species. A good children’s park with bouncing castles, swimming pool, restaurants, boat rides and it’s ideal for kids birthday parties. The down side is that you pay 10k for Ugandans and 2k for parking and another 2300ugx for bank charges. Why on earth do u have to charge Ugandans bank charges to enter a zoo. This is a turn off cz the fee would have been included in the entry fare.

Unfortunately the museum is very run down, a lot of pieces missing, stuffed animals that look like puppets. It was still interesting going through though. The thing that disappointed me the most was that some of the traditional huts were closed without a reason being given.

Had a great time at the museum during the East Africa Scouts Zonal Educational Camp tour 2023, no waiting. I experienced the rich Ugandan culture, had a chance to witness the Ugandan stone age, photo gallery and had a chance to see some machines used by His Excellency the President of Uganda.
Visit Uganda Museum.

I went during the apes of uganda exhibition so there was much more to see that usual.
There is an entry fee if about 15k ugx /$5 for east african nationals and i think 10usd for other nationalities.
Its definitely one tourist place to visit when doing the uganda tour .

Good museum with exhibits that help you to understand both past and present Uganda.

I’m frankly disappointed. Was expecting a lot more from a national museum. There is a lot of info that’s basically just textbook knowledge on how oil and gas are produced, how plants pollinate, and random Olympics posters which all have questionable relevance to Uganda.

I would recommend you go.
I found the staff particularly helpful and knowledgeable.
I recommend getting a guide for your tour, don't forget to show your monetary appreciation to the staff.
10 to 30k is respectful.
The highlight for me was seeing president M7's armoured G-Wagon.
Amins car was out for repair, apparently it has some damage from visitors. ( Fitting ). So I will probably visit again just for that when it's back.
And now the downs,
lighting was poor and many exhibits were in need of repair or cleaning ( dust), the souvenirs were not museum focused and priced high for what they were.
But I still bought some as to me it's like a donation.
I would recommend you go and allow one hour to one and a half only as it is not a large museum Don't miss the huts though, very interesting stuff.
Thank you Uganda, I loved my visit.

This place needs a lot of investment! Uganda history must be very rich but unfortunately it was not presented quite well.. Some of the rooms were not well lit, information was cramped on multiple A4 pages which was to small to read.
However, I really like the uganda primates/big apes part which had an audio visual room and good combination of pictures, apes skeleton, and up to date research findings. Bravo for that section!

I expected more from the Capital city of Uganda and the greatest historical museum in Western Africa… Few outdated, dusty exhibits, which similar ones you can find in every geological museum in Europe… I’m disappointed…
The ticket for white tourists cost *3 more, then for locals… I was with my local friend: she paid 5000 Ugandan shillings, but I paid 15000…

Mara Triangle is a less-traveled section of the Maasai Mara reserve, offering abundant big game, a safari lodge, and a camp. It provides an improved wildlife viewing experience compared to the Masai Mara National Reserve with better roads and stricter management. The area is carefully monitored by rangers to ensure ethical game viewing and protect wildlife. It's a peaceful place where visitors can slow down, reflect, and engage in enjoyable activities alone or with others.
Every respected traveler knows about the marvels of Masai Mara and it deserves its reputation. It's hard to put words on experiences like these, just go! You'll feel like being in a nature documentary.

A must do in life and a definite bucket list activity. So different to any park in South Africa. The openness and vastness is breathtaking and beautiful.
Ryan Conway — Google review
A peaceful place is somewhere you can go to slow down, reflect, engage in enjoyable activities. You can be alone or with others who you find relaxing to be around. A place that doesn’t demand anything of you or expect you to be someone you’re not – where you can just be. In your own space, you can be noisy or quiet, or work on activities and interests that you are passionate about, read, or otherwise escape life’s daily stresses and routines. It’s important to have a place to retreat, a place that brings you a sense of calm and a respite from life’s hectic pace at least once a week, if not daily. Having a designated retreat space that’s easy to access isn’t only nice, but necessary for many of us, particularly those of us who gain and recharge our energy from being alone. If you live with other people, it’s also important for each of you to have your own space to relax and restore your energy. A peaceful physical place supports a peaceful mind. I bring you the MARA TRIANGLE
Where is your peaceful place?

A M A Z I N G! Saw all the animals as advertised except the white rhino but went to lake Nakuru for that. Place I stayed as wasn’t luxury by any means but the people were friendly and met so many other travelers. Here or the Serengeti is the place to be
James Reber — Google review
This is the place for you if you want to have a meet up with nature.
My only advice is to go there early before the carnivores go to rest. And don't use the main road if you want to meet any of the wild animals. But most importantly, CARRY YOUR OWN FOOD! Carry with you some snacks otherwise you'll starve. Serena is 50 kilometers away- 1 hour plus drive away. And food there is waaay expensive unless you are paying using $$$. We were told they have a canteen but to be safe, carry with you some snacks or your own food.
You'll see every other animal btw. I saw buffalos, elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, ostriches, etc.

It’s just fabulous. A lot of wild animals. It’s a must in your safari planning. There is two parks in Mara. The triangle is administrated by another groupe. Very well maintain. You have to pay extra fees to visit this part of the Masai Mara park.

Nice reserve adjacent to Maasai Mara. We didn’t see many animals apart from giraffes and gazelles, but still some very nice scenery here and much more peaceful compared to Maasai Mara which is often busy with other safari vehicles.
One notable stop here is the border between Kenya and Tanzania (although crossing into Tanzania here is not allowed!) Nice to see Serengeti from here.

Great area, friendly staff and the Rangers we're very helpful in spotting animals 🐆
Also recommend the Oloololo Camp for a beautiful sunrise!

Much better than the Masai Mara National Reserve. This area is home to the same (if not more) incredible landscape and wildlife, but with better roads, stricter management, and overall a much more pleasant wildlife viewing experience. You are far less likely to find unethical and selfish drivers like you do in the main reserve, and wildlife sightings such as lions are carefully monitored by rangers for the animal’s protection to ensure ethical game viewing. Passing in and out of the reserve is also easy from the triangle, even though there is hardly any reason to do so.

We wanted to visit the Speke Monument, but then there is Living Waters Resort before that. They want a 10,000 UGX / per person fee. Ridiculous, it is as if the monument is owned by the resort. We wanted to skip the monument but were made to pay fee by the rude management just because we had crossed the entry gate of the resort and took a couple of pictures of the River Nile.

The Itanda Falls, also known as the White Nike, offers an impressive display of falls and rapids. Visitors can embark on a comprehensive tour which includes a boat ride, allowing them to explore small islands and witness more of the stunning waterfalls and rapids. The friendly and knowledgeable hosts enhance the experience. However, it is important to note that entry fees may vary for foreigners or 'muzungus', necessitating negotiation with local hosts.
Beautiful rapids. Well worth the afternoon trip from Jinja. We really enjoyed sitting on the rocks watching the waterfall and the huge rapids for well over an hour.

It was such a great experience having gone there. Good views especially the speedy falls from the Nile. We were lucky that the day we went there we happened to find a group doing rafting making it a great feeling for us watching them. They have some good art crafts like the animals such a giraffes, rhinos , elephants, zebras we bought around there at relatively good price😊. I would advise you carry something to eat for yourself coz we were told the place is still under construction after selling it to someone else so for now any sorts of food provisions like fish are out of bounds. Also another thing I would recommend you visit on a sunny day the road leading to the falls is so messy on rainny days

One of the places that everyone has to go and see. I enjoyed a lot and more than I expected. You pay at entrance 20K per person and can negotiate a bit. There will be tour guide who can give you small tour for 5K. The road took around 45 mins driving from Jinja to arrive to the Itanda falls. Unfortunately, there are not good services nearby like nice restaurants, coffee shops or even markets. so make your plan accordingly.
Mazen ELGAMAL — Google review
Itanda Falls is okay, it is quite far from Jinja and you need a good car because the road to get to Itanda is not great, especially if it rains you would definitely need a car with good clearance/tyres. It also run down, poor management and activities felt all over the place. I enjoyed dancing with the dancers at the entrance and it was probably my favourite part of visiting Itanda Falls.
wangari (Wangari) — Google review
the river is impressive, and the walk is great, but they charged us to enter a private space about $10 per person. It is not worth it unless they improve the price or write it on some official site, it seems that they are cheating you. better to go to busowooko falls, more beautiful and lower price
borjolo el mio — Google review
The falls/rapids are impressive and you can get a comprehensive tour including a boat ride on the White Nike visiting small islands to see more falls and rapids with a friendly and knowledgeable host.
Inevitably everything has its price. Entry to the falls has to be negotiated with 'foreigners/muzungu' paying more. Ensure you have a local host to do the haggling. Once inside they also want to upsell you on extras such as a group of young men who will jump into the rapids for your entertainment! We were also offered chance to swim in a less dangerous area!
Worth a visit despite the long slow drive down dirt roads to get there.

Amazing waterfalls in jinja, it's about 32km from the city of jinja, tarmac road but no jam you can drive it at your own speed depending of your driving skill. In about 45min to 1hr you be to the falls there you meet welcoming guides with cutie small after bargaining at the entrance.
Wonderful, the power of water is incredible. More than 3000 m3 per second. You can do activities like rafting. The best place in my opinion.

i am no swimmer but this place gave me the best water experience i have ever had. definitely going back! i did a boat ride and explored one of the islands. i also had a chance to swim on the waterfalls and my guide was kind enough to help me swim on the Nile. downside is accessing the place. it is a very dusty ride all the way from Jinja to Itanda so cover up😄. But all the dust trouble is totally worth it💯

Fantastic experience with the Rhino 🦏 We loved the walk. I would not recommend the shoebill experience as there is rubbish all over the area, oil on the swap water and plastic bottles in the water. We were also told the construction of the bridge has scared the local wildlife (hence not a 5⭐️ experience)

Wow, wow, wow, easily a 5⭐️experience. Such a wonderful experience seeing one of the big 5 out in the wild. Just a couple of hours from Kampala, Ziwa offers a number of activities out in the wild such a game drives & rhino tracking by foot. Established in 2005 to re-introduce Southern White Rhinos in the wild, the sanctuary is the only place in the country, where one can observe these endangered creatures in the wild. They now have up to 38 rhinos at the ranch. The staff and guides are friendly and very professional. Highly recommended experience.

We had an excellent time at the Ziwa Rhino Wildlife Ranch. We (pretty last minute) decided to stay the night here and was the best choice to make. They were really accommodating (even while we were arriving late) to help us get settled in and make us dinner. The room was really pretty and cozy with ample warm water in the shower. Unfortunately we didn't see a shoebill in the morning (50/50% change), but plenty of Rhinos. They even came up in the evening to sleep on the grass in front of the lodge. Definitely recommend this.

A unique place to visit Rhinos in their wildlife. The team at Ziwa is doing its best to protect Rhinos there, monitoring Rhinos every moment to keep them safe from poachers and diseases.
These animals are so beautiful, safe and calm. Do not miss the chance to visit them. I had a chance to see a Rhino mother feeding her baby.

This was a great experience. I am always nervous to visit these so called wildlife ranches / sanctuaries because they are normally about exploiting animals. I believe this place is an exception.
You will track the rhinos on foot and will be able to get quite close to them, but not close enough to disturb them. Each of them has an armed guard with shoot to kill permission 24/7. A sad world we live in.
You will have a limited time to observe the rhinos and then time to ask questions from the ranger.
There is a nice restaurant on site with vegetarian options. If you are vegan, you will have a bit of explaining to do, but the staff is friendly and chef came to talk to us. Our food was delicious.

Food- there is a restaurant in the park. Food is not that bad but manageable. More than food i like the place where we sat to eat.
One can adopt a new born rhino also in auction n the park will take of them you can choose whatever name u want. We watch one named OBAMA. All in all a mist visit place.

Decent accommodation, but a bit expensive for what it is ($80 per night). Activities on offer are also very expensive for what they are.
Advantages:
- Our room and bathroom were very clean.
- The staff from the lodge's restaurant were kind and helpful.
Disadvantages:
- Contrary to what the website of the lodge says, there was no WiFi or hot water when we stayed there. The lady at the front desk apologized for this but didn't make any commercial gesture to make it up for it.
- We signed up for two treks (one to see the rhinos, one to see the shoebills) and yet, we ended up driving - with our own car and fuel - more than walking (more than 30 km of driving in the case of the shoebill trek), under the guidance of a ranger who was very patronizing (was it because my friend and I are two young women?), who wanted to keep the animal-seeing as short as possible, and who explicitly and awkwardly asked us to tip the trackers he works with, in addition to what we had already paid at the lodge for the treks. This was the most disappointing part...

This place is fantastic and great to see the Rhino. Also learn how the Rhino behave and when/how they get stress following by prepare to attract.
Is a great day out, but I would strongly suggest to arrive and visit in morning between 8-10am, and no need to stay there.

It’s a beautiful experience being that close to the white rhinos. We tried to contact the sanctuary twice to get some information about accommodation and prices to get in and they didn’t answer until the day we visited. We figured out that the gate opens at 8am and you need to rent a car to get inside the park for 20$ (apart the entry fee 50$) or arrange one from outside (in our case from Masindi). Once in the reception, a guide will help you to track some rhinos by foot. Our guide was not very motivated and after seeing two rhinos in the first 15’ seemed to be enough. Because we asked to continue walking and look for more it was possible to make the experience a bit more interesting. It was finisghed around 10am.

The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is really a great place to see rhinos in a natural setting in Uganda after they got extic in the 1980s. The sanctuary is home to over 37 rhinos, and it's also an important conservation area for other wildlife, like antelope, and birds. While here here you can embark on a walking tour, a boat trip in search of the shoebill and many other birds or even a game drive through the sanctuary, and learn about the rhinos and their conservation efforts. It is a great place to visit for anyone interested in wildlife and nature.

It's a quiet, calm place to walk around. They have allowed the zebras to roam freely. Amongst the caged animals are, ostrich, Warthog, lions, leopard, monkeys, baboons and many more. The entrance fee is 250 per head for adults. You can also have a boat ride at the park.

Great place to see some of our wildlife in captivity. It's a bit expansive. Walking around the sanctuary took me about 1-1/2 hours so come prepared with water and a snack. It borders the lake so at most points you can see the lake. It has around 4 picnic sites with wooden benches to sit and enjoy a meal. You can also get boat rides onto the lake. There is also a railway line trail but I didn't go down the trail....

Awesome place for a nature walk. A few caged animals with a history but not so much. Atleast the king of the jungle rules there.
You can get a boat ride into the lake.
Affordable rates.
It's ok for a picnic but you may have to share it with the monkeys.
It's not a big place to run wild but the air is awesome.
Do not carry plastic bottles... We are keeping the place clean.
Do NOT feed the animals.
Oh.. plenty of hyacinths.
Overall.. it's an awesome place for you and your family especially the children to learn a thing or two about animals.

The grounds are lovely. Situated right on the lake, you can enjoy the sparkling blue water while zebras graze freely and monkeys frolic. The captive animals are quite stunning as well and easy to spot. My only criticism is that while most of the habitats were spacious and enhanced with trees and such, some seemed a bit small and lacked shade or greenery.

For nature lovers, this is the ideal place in Kisumu to get away from the hustle bustle of the City and get to relax and soak yourself in the quietness of this green environment just by the lake. While taking a nature walk, you'll get to meet the zebras and sitatunga antelopes that are roaming freely in the sanctuary. There are a few animals kept; lions, warthog, ostrich, hyena, leopard etc. There's also an option of boat riding that ranges from around 15USD to 150USD depending on the time and distance of the ride. A picnic and campsite is also available but do not forget your mosquito repellents if you choose to camp. Catch the best sunset views at Impala Sanctuary.

The Karen Blixen Museum is a museum in Nairobi, Kenya, that contains the belongings of Danish author Karen Blixen. The home where she lived and wrote her famous memoirs is also on display. The museum offers guided tours throughout the week and on weekends until 6 p.m., which give tourists a peek into colonial life in the 20th century.

Beautiful place, beautiful house, awesome tour guides, art and nature trails. I highly recommend. You also get to learn a lot of history and i bet you're be looking forward to watching the movie "out of Africa". That is just incase you haven't watched it yet.

Rich in history. A wonderful very well kept place with excellent guides. A must see in Nairobi.
The Giraffe Centre is a conservation and breeding center for Rothschild giraffes. It's located in Kenya, and has feeding platforms, a forested nature park, and educational materials about the species.
This is a very beautiful home for giraffes. The staff were courteous and professional. Told is what to do. We paid via our cards. A calm lovely place. Got to feed giraffes.

This experience is perfect for all ages! The giraffes are so kind and very humorous. You will enjoy getting slimy warm tongues all over your hand, and the giraffes love posing for pictures! I would totally recommend this excursion.

What wonderfulness this place is to teach and learn about these gracefully stunning animals. They had ten fine Giraffes who all seemed very happy to munch half a coconuts feed from our hands. Breeding and maintaining a small herd in great facilities. Lovely shop too full of things, including one of the best chess sets I've ever seen. Come here and get up close to some charming gentle giants. Look out for the warthogs, too! If you are into sustainable biodiversity and conservation, then you must visit.

Great experience interacting with Giraffes at the centre. Feed pellets are provided at the entrance so as to lure the Giraffes close to you for great photos. The guides also provide insightful talks on these magnificent animals.

The Giraffe Centre is located in Karen, just around 20 kilometers from the heart of Nairobi. This sanctuary offers a remarkable experience that revolves around the Rothschild giraffe, an endangered species. The venue is not just a tourist attraction but a hub for education and awareness about wildlife conservation.
Pricing and Payments:
Foreign adult visitors are charged 1,500 Kenya Shillings, while the fee for locals is 400 Shillings. The centre accepts various forms of payment including card, cash, and M-Pesa, making transactions convenient for everyone.
Interactivity:
One of the standout features is the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes from a raised platform, providing an intimate experience with these majestic creatures. The staff hands out pellets to feed the giraffes, making this a hit among children and adults alike.
Educational Value:
Staff members are not just caretakers but also educators. They offer valuable information about the giraffes, their conservation status, and what measures are being taken to protect them.
Nature Walk:
Directly opposite the main centre is a nature trail that offers a guided or self-guided walk. This allows visitors to explore the indigenous plants, birds, and smaller mammals in a tranquil setting, enhancing the overall experience.
Amenities:
For those looking to take a piece of the experience home, there's a gift shop that offers a range of eco-friendly souvenirs crafted by local artisans. A restaurant on-site offers refreshments and meals, making it easy to spend a half-day without worrying about dining options.
Overall Recommendation:
The Giraffe Centre is highly recommended for any visitor to Nairobi. It manages to blend fun, education, and conservation into a single experience, delivering excellent value for the entrance fee.
This place is not just a tourist attraction but an eye-opener that combines engagement with educational outreach. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone interested in responsible tourism and wildlife conservation.

It was an amazing place to visit, although not very big. It can take around an hour. The very best part is hand-feeding the giraffes, an amazing activity. There is also a small museum, in which we received a nice explanation.

It was such a fantastic experience. Giraffes are so adorable and beautiful. We can feed them and I really enjoyed interacting with them in a calm nature. When entering, nobody is allowed to take plastic bottles inside which can be retrieved. Great initiative for preserving the environment.

Loved the fact that there are guides present at all times because people tend to push limits with animals, the centre has well marked systems in place from entrance to exit and are very well organized. The giraffes are magestic and can be friendly once they warm up to you, you can also spot warthogs below I enjoyed my visit. Will definitely pay them a visit again.

It was a nice experience to feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. However, the experience was just about a few minutes long. They had a place where they gave us some history about the place. Also, what I liked is they had several places where we could wash our hands with soap, making the experience very hygienic too.

It's a nice place. For Non Kenyan residents, the entry fees is 696 Kenyan Shillings. At the entrance, they use to provide food of Giraffes in a coconut shell which we need to feed to Giraffes with our Hands. You can click pictures with Giraffes.
It is really a fun place.

A lovely place to visit while in Nairobi. The place is family friendly and has ample parking space. They also have a restaurant and a small gift shop. Being a giraffe centre one can also learn about the various giraffe species, take pictures with the giraffe and feed them. Please make sure to also get a kiss with a giraffe while there. Highly recommend the place for a day visit.

This is a nice place located at the edge of the Nairobi. The place is a bit far and it takes around 40 minutes to get there. The place has a display of the history of the centre and has some exhibits. There are also large jigsaws of giraffes for young explorers.
The main activity is to feed the giraffes. The place takes care of hygiene of animals and humans alike. 30-45 minutes is the recommended time to stay. There is also a small restaurant and a souvenir shop here.

It's fun to go for a while to see the giraffes and be able to feed them. They close at 5:00 p.m. it is better to go in the morning because the giraffes are hungrier even though they eat all day. the place is next to the giraffe hotel. the tickets are purchased in the same place before you enter

A great experience for the family, feeding the giraffes up on a walkway so you are right up at their height. Probably only an hours activity, would definitely recommend.

We came excited to feed and take photos with the giraffes. It was fun to feed them and take photos. A must see for kids and adults who love giraffes. There were baby giraffes too ! It doesn’t take more than half an hour to go through the park. There is a museum section that you can learn about the history of giraffe center. There is another raised boardwalk section that you can feed giraffes and take photos.
The area has lots of security, is clean and well maintained. There is also a small stand to have food and drink when you are done. Multiple wash stations are available to wash your hands.
There could be more improvements in terms of maybe having more activities for kids. Maybe a section to have a giraffe centered playground.
As we were leaving we saw a trail that was open to the public across the center and we went it for about five minutes. We didn’t complete the trail though. We didn’t know how long it would take and there were no signs describing how long it would take.

The giraffes are so cute and photogenic. park is accessible and the staff is friendly.
My only issue is that there was no indication that the park doesn't accept cash until you get there. I might have missed it but as a foreigner I only had cash on me but the nice local ladies helped me out. Super thankful to them.
Great experience nonetheless ❤️

We got to learn about Giraffes and also feed them with grass pellets and cereal pellets. It was a really cool experience. It was also great to see school kids come in to learn about giraffes. You can buy tickets at the entrance and there is a little coffee shop and gift shop at the exit

Come early to avoid the crowd. No need to book beforehand just turn up and pay by card at the counter. You have to wash your hands before feeding them. They are well taken care of and staff were very friendly. They also present an informative session about the giraffes which is interesting. A must do in Nairobi!!

👍 The area is small but you can stay as long as you want. At the entrance you are given a plate of food to feed the giraffes.

A good place for info on Giraffe @ Centre .
The entry fees are to be paid by e-money which most non resident Kenyans visiting it would find difficult.
Suggest-The centre to charge some extra bobs for cash entry fees.
The work to create awareness is appreciable!Good place to spend an hour or so!

Great place to spend time with family for a weekend. Or any day. Not crowded. Staff are friendly.

Worth a visit.
You can pay the tickets either with credit card or M-PESA. Cash is not allowed (corruption).
Going inside you have to do the security check, wash your hands, pay your tickets and go thru the ticket check. Please note, liquids or bottles are not allowed to bring with you. They must be given away at the security check.
Once you’re inside, you will get a small cup of food to feed the giraffes. You can also see a small museum or educational center to discover more about the giraffes. The area contains also a small restaurant and a gift shop.
The Elephant Nursery is a place in Kenya that takes care of orphaned elephants and rhinos. It was founded by Dame Sheldrick, a conservationist who worked with her husband to reintroduce these animals back into the wild. You can visit the nursery and adopt an elephant as a way of supporting their conservation.
What a truly amazing place and incredible experience.
The volunteers at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust do a brilliant job of rehabilitating and looking after the elephants and it is very evident that the elephants are very happy and comfortable with their surroundings.
Absolutely no mistreatment of any kind to the elephants which was wonderful to see.
On to the experience itself: There is only a one hour slot to see the elephants which is 11-12. You will arrive and then walk to the area the elephants are fed. You will all stand around the edge of the enclosure and observe them being fed and playing. There are chances to touch the elephants and take pictures as they roam around. This all takes place while you learn more about the Trust and the elephants themselves.
A few things to note regarding the experience as a whole:
1. The ground where you walk, from parking up to seeing the elephants is extremely uneven! (I did see however provisions in place for wheelchair users)
2. You do not get to feed the elephants (This is due to not wanting the elephants to get to trusting of humans as eventually they are released into the wild)
3. If you go on a dry day the ground is extremely dusty! Your shoes and clothes (potentially) will get dusty for sure!
Overall though an absolute must do experience in Nairobi!

Such an amazing place, considering the work they do on behalf of orphaned baby elephants. The elephants are simply beyond adorable. It’s so fun, watching the babies play in mud and with each other and to pet them as they walk past. Also, while they enjoy playing in the muddy water, they can splash spectators with the muddy water, as they did the people standing around me (I had faster reflexes…lol)…such fun. Definitely a must -do activity.

A must visit for children or adults. David Sheldrick trust are doing a commendable work rescuing helpless elephants and rhinos. Book your visit in advance as the viewing time window and strictly one hour 11am- 12noon. Only limited number of spectators are allowed in so as not to stress out the animals. They way these babies understand cues and admonishes from the attendants like little kids is just adorable. They give you stories of each rescue and let you sponsor the orphans and send you regular updates on them. They give you time to ask questions at the end of viewing. It's a lovely place to be.
F20 S16 — Google review
You better book early enough just to avoid inconveniences at the gate. You wont be allowed to in without booking. Awesome place to learn about orphan elephants and how to take part in conservation. You can pay entrance fees to National park and use the same ticket at the shelter.

Really nice experience. Baby elephants are super cute. They come in 2 groups of almost 20 elephants. In the meantime the head keeper tells the story of the nursery as well the story of each baby elephant. Total duration of one hour, 30 minutes per group. Totally recommend to everyone visiting Nairobi.

Ellies!!! My favorite humans. Very interesting to see all the baby elephants. It was so much fun watching elephants run to get their bottles of milk. Also very knowledgeable tour on an hour of visiting them ! A must go place in Nairobi
Mansi Dodhia — Google review
An educational and preservation center, where the focus is on the baby elephants well-being.
Do not expect a “circus show”, but some real eye opening experience.
The baby elephants are presented for only 1 hour each day, during this time you can observe them feeding and playing.
I appreciated the lead caregiver explaining the history of each baby elephant: where was found, in which condition, what happened to its mother, how it evolved in the nursery and of course its name.
Iulian Maiorescu — Google review
Very nice place to visit, confusion on payment ie USD vs mpesa, email indicted Mpesa but they would not accept!!!, narration to describe the elephants etc was very well done. As usual silly tourists and their selfies can ruin the experience, so please crowds shut up and listen

Was lovely to see the baby elephants and rhino being taken care of. Quite an experience to get up close. Being told the names and stories of each of the animals added a personal touch. The interaction between the animals and carers was adorable.
Good to know... Check the weather and wear appropriate clothing, this will enhance the outdoor experience. Perfect for any age group.

Nairobi Mamba Village offers a great place to learn about the lives of crocodiles, as well as other animals at the leisure park. There's also a restaurant on-site where you can enjoy local food and activities.
A good recreational center. Slightly under utilized at the moment due Covid-19, but now things are beginning to pick up. You get to see crocodiles, kids and adults crocs, ostriches, do a boat ride, and enjoy nature. There's even an archery 🎯 club here.
I loved it 😍

It was good being able to tick my bucket list activities this day. The place is not far from the road: one can walk from the bus stop terminus: the arrows are very helpful.
Prices are: kshs 200 adults kshs 150 children under 12 I.e Kenyans.
It was nice seeing the crocodiles being fed at the scheduled feeding times: we witnessed the 4.30pm feeding time. Kids friendly and kids are able to see a replica of what they see on likes of natgeo.
The place looked deserted at some places: hopefully they are able to revive and use all the space that's available and have more for us to see.
Washrooms were not easily accessible: ones found near the boat riding place were locked.
Boat riding was very nice: calm and refreshing

Nice place with a variety of things to do and see. Enjoyed the boat ride alot 😘archery, crocodiles, tortoises, and ostriches.
Adult trampoline also available which I found to be amazing, and also kids park.

Mamba village was probably one of the best picnic spots back in the day, but has really gone down since I last visited.
There are still a few positives; bandas are available. You can barbecue to your heart's content, but bring your own grill. Boating, fishing, horse riding are still options.
All in all, the place needs an upgrade. But you can still have a fun time with family.

I feel like the place should be revamped, renovated and improved just like giraffe centre. Mamba village has really deteriorated over the years

Went to Mamba Village for an event...you guysssss we had to pay for entrance to the Village separately from the event tickets. That was wild to me 😂😂 And then we had to pay Kes 100/- or Kes 200/- for every game / ride that the kids played 😂😂. Like WTH?
The grounds were separate from the actual crocodile farm which disappointed my daughter quite a bit.
The food was great but the overall experience was not great. Can absolutely do better.

If you are interested in seeing crocodiles, tortoise and ostriches within Nairobi, this is the place! Feeding of crocodiles happens at 4:30pm.
The place has a good atmosphere for a picnic (you can bring your own food and sit next to the small waterbody on site).
Going by the art pieces on the walls & walkways, deserted amenities like the restaurant & club, play equipment, mamba village is no longer what it used to be. Perhaps a reminder that seasons come and go! When down, the only way to go is up :) Mamba village's light will shine... someday!

Nice place, so many crocodiles, tortoises and ostriches also present. Fishing is allowed, boat rides are available.
There's however no restaurant, washrooms are extremely dirty.
The place looks underutilised and not well kept overall. Can do so much better.
Martina Muhonja — Google review
Online they have posted very nice photos. What you see is not what you get. The crocodiles are less than 20 and the 3 ostrich only. Very poor service and when I complained there was no reaction, was just being told there are crocodiles and ostrich and fish. I saw no fish.
It was a waste of time and money. I would not advise anyone
Who is not ready for a big disappointment to go. This place is a big joke.
I would not recommend the place even to my worst enemy.
Helen Wangechi — Google review
I wouldn't recommend it completely. It is very sad the place has run down and is in ruins. Looks abandoned and like a ghost town. Staff are trying the very best to make sure guests are comfortable but the environment makes it difficult to enjoy or even relax.
This is a complete disaster. Art Gallery shops closed and dust settled indicates it has been closed for so long.
During my visit some I observed school kids playing in bouncing castle, enjoying horse rides and being offered boat rides. Perhaps they were the only happy people at the facility.
The cashier didn't have change but when I asked to pay using Card he found change somehow.
Alot needs to be done to change the place. It still has potential but alot of things need to be done. For now it's a big NO for me and a huge disappointment.
Johntez Ndungu — Google review
The place looks abandoned. Atleast when i visited it which is shortly after writing this review. There is a lot of crocodiles. Some are huge too. You can also see ostriches and if you're lucky get to hold their eggs. There are activities which include horse riding which go for KSH 200, boat riding, and archery 🎯.
While I was there, the prices ranged from KSH 200 for resident adults and KSH 1000 for non-residents. You can also do fishing.
However, the atmosphere is a bit boring, the place is a wreck, most of the buildings are abandoned, some structures are damaged and dirty.

Exactly across De La Salle school is the Mamba village. To reach there you need to go through a cobble stoned road which is demanding for the vehicles. In the village you get to see crocodiles, turtles and ostriches, plus you can have a picnic there or take a boat ride. In general a beautiful and peaceful place. Personally I had a difficulty leaving the place as my uber drivers were cancelling. As I said the road is in bad condition. Still, this shouldn't deter you from going.
Nairobi National Park is a large and important park in the city of Nairobi, Kenya. It is home to a variety of big game animals, as well as a number of animal sanctuaries. The park is an important place for people to see endangered species in their natural habitats.
Magical experience. I would recommend a morning visit during calm weather. You will be able to see lots of animals. Since they tend to hide when the sun is too hot. The during rainy season the roads are muddy.

The park will surely present a pleasant experience if you know when to go. It is advisable to first inquire on when the best time to visit the park is as the main attraction of animals such as lions can be hard to find at times. Lastly I would highly recommend a guide as they know where certain animals can be found and crucially when.

Conveniently located Right in the heart of the city. So for those of you visiting Nairobi for a short period, this is the park you need to visit.
Check migration dates etc before you venture out so that you aren’t disappointed.
I was quite intrigued but he ivory graveyard and the governments efforts to curb poaching by. Truly commendable.
Was so happy to see two lions as well. Thankfully they had just eaten, so were resting and we got a fairly close up shot of them.
You definitely need a local guide/driver to take you in or else you’d be happy hire lost.
Yes it’s a trifle expensive for non-residents

I just love the fact that it is right in the city!!! So you can just take a cab and go.

If you have a bit of time to spare, visit this park! The number of animals you can see here is astonishing considering how close it is to the city.
We took a half day tour and found all of the animals we were hoping to see. Lions, black and white rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, impala, eland, masai giraffe and much more.
I also counted over 50 different species of birds including white-backed vulture and secretary bird. Two species I hoped to see.

Definitely not the most picturesque park in Kenya, but a great option very close to the city. Your best opportunity to see rhinoceros as they can be very hard to spot in the other national parks. The park is a nice introduction to Safari.

The good thing about that it is located in the center so you don't need to drive miles away to see some animals specially if you dont have enough time and they have many animals in side the park.....my recommendation is to be patient and don't make the drive rush you to exit and keep finding and tracking the animal..enjoy :)

Lovely! We decided to treat the kids to a breakfast picnic at the park, followed by a self-drive game drive. The park roads have been freshly graded since our last visit so the drive was much more enjoyable. The animals were also quite in plenty. Best time though is early morning or late afternoon when most predators are out and about. We are planning another one soon... #TembeaKenya

I visited this park in September, 2915. I still have a lot of pictures. Just wanted to share with you guys. This safari is about 100+ square kilometers. Tremendous amount of wild live. The park as a way to fill in a day between flights and wow was it worth it! Our first national park but was a bit hesitant as it was so close to the town but we were not disappointed. We did have some issues paying the entrance fee as their credit card machine was not working and apparently often has issues.
Lucky for us, our guide paid with his own card and we paid him the cash directly As soon as we went through the gates we saw animals almost immediately! The city skyline behind was just mind blowing If you have been to the Serengeti or any of the other great parks, this isn't spectacular, however we did see Rhinos , buffaloes. If we need to look at the beauty at the National Park will see that more needs to be done for the animals to make them more attractive. It would be easier to track animals for easy spotting. Sometimes we drove aimlessly for minutes. Looked like it was waste of time and the zoo would probably be the best bet. Getting to see the animals in their natural state is exciting. so it as great to tick that one off so early Worth the visit it. We saw lions and Buffalo.

The only national park in the middle of a city!!
It was so amazing seeing quite a number of animals even the rare species like Cheetah, ostriches, rhinos, gazelles those that you do not see very often in just one hour. Very easy to drive though on a rainy season you need a four wheel for it kinda gets slippery. Had such an amazing time there with friends. Lions are so close up for good photography. Quite herds of antelopes and giraffes not forgetting the beautiful scenery of the city from a far.🥰

I recommend going early in the morning because it's not hot so you have a better chance of seeing most of the animals. I was happy to see the lions, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, impalas, zebras, guinea fowls etc. I would have loved to see all the big 5 though. The sunrise was breathtaking. It was a nice 3 hours drive.

The park took measures to keep visitors safe as the gorges were closed during our visit for safety reasons and to avoid flash flooding accidents.
The cliffs are breathtaking and spectacular.

Our favorite was the 2.5 hour tour to visit the gorge. It’s another ticket to pay though on top of the ticket from the main gate. The structure and texture of the gorge are so beautiful. We walked there in awe of nature.

Incredible in all ways and definitely worth the trip. Moi South Lake road was redone so it's a smooth drive. A bit pricey given the activities within the park are not catered for in the park fees. Community fees to trek along the gorge ranging from 2000 to 4000 (per group) depending on the length of the hike. Then a per person entrance fee into the geothermal spa.

Unique safari which can be done on foot, bicycle or car. No predators but you can see a lot of giraffes, antelope, zebras etc. The scenery is beautiful with huge cliffs and a canyon you can walk along. Would recommend getting a guide as it’s always obvious where to go

Located northwest of Nairobi, Hell's Gate National Park was named by British explores in the 1880s after the narrow break in the cliffs. The national park is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery. Additionally, it has three basic campsites and a Maasai Cultural Center.

A nice getaway for nature lovers. The beautiful landscape creates a perfect environment for those who'd like to unwind and get in touch with nature as you watch the animals grazing.Cycling through the park gives you a more authentic experience. For those who love rock climbing, Fischer's tower offers an awesome opportunity for that.

To sum it up, it was amazing! To see wild animals roaming around as they do while you cycle through the park is a truly remarkable experience.
You can come in with your car as well but I would, wholeheartedly, recommend renting a bicycle and going through the park like that.
The park is huge and I think it's almost impossible to cover the whole area in one day on a bike.
We ended up at one of the other gates close to the geothermal spa and that's exactly what we needed after a long day of cycling and hiking

Easy to access the place. Affordable rates for group bonding activities: a friendly guide was allocated to our group. He was very knowledgeable and encouraged us to hike and knew the natural habit of the area inclusive of types of reptiles, animals that are in the place. An ideal place that is near Nairobi and has a range of outdoor activities: cycling and hikes. Kids friendly for kids above 6years who can cycle independently.

If you want an escape from the noisy daily life in towns and work, Hells Gate is the perfect location. A place where I did meditate and get to bond and experience the beauty of mother nature. If you have some extra coins and time then why not visit. I would recommend it to anyone and I will definitely visit the place once again.

It's a really nice experience to have a bike safari. Even though there are no predators, there is plenty of animals to see. We saw Zebras, Buffalo, Gazelles, Antelopes, Baboons, Warthogs, Vultures, and one Giraffe.
Bikes could be better but they were enough for 3hrs trip. Guide is helpful but not necessary if you want to bike kn your own. Thanks to guide we hiked down the canyon.

Very nice place different from other parks. Some wildlife can be found here like buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, baboons and birds. Activities one can do include cycling through the park, rock climbing at Fischer's tower

It's not every day you get to see a giraffe 🦒 breastfed in close proximity to a zebra 🦓 grazing. All this when youre on a bike heading to the historical hells gate, the devil's kitchen and bathroom. What about the natural hot shower then wind up in a natural therapeutic Naturally heated spa ♨?
The place is amazing. You can walk, ride a bike or drive. Just pay the park entrance fee in advance via ecitizen because network signal is scanty at best and non existence at worst.... At the entrance. Friendly park rates.
On the downside, the guides are greedy. The bikes for hire are in bad state making for a not soo comfortable ride even after paying ksh800. Carry your bike if you can or drive.

It’s an amazing experience to visit a park where cycling and walking is allowed.
The park has absolutely stunning landscapes from gorges to high rocks and springs to the beautiful wildlife especially the zebras.
The trails are well maintained to accommodate both cyclists, cars and those on foot.

Historic tea planation on a site including gardens & indigenous forest, with tours & dining.
Best place to go to while staying in Nairobi. The place has a lot to offer including the excellent sightseeing, soothing jungle chimes, and best lunch and tea/ coffee in Nairobi. One gets a slight flavor of Downtown Abbey as the hostess is British whose grandfather bought the farm in early 20th century.

I had a lovely day learning about the cultivating, harvesting and processing of tea. The flower gardens were gorgeous and the lunch was very tasty. I enjoyed seeing the farm animals and the walk through the forest learning about the medicinal purposes of many plants. It was an enjoyable day.

We spend a lovely day at the Kiambethu Farm, just an hour drive from Nairobi. Fiona, who runs the farm, was very friendly, it was nice to go through the history of her family who ran the farm since 1910.
The garden surrounding the farm is superb, with a wide variety of birds and plants.
After visiting the tea plantations and the forest nearby, we had a delicious lunch in the garden, with vegetarian options.
Thank you Fiona and all the staff working there!
I recommend this place 100%!

Very happy today after an amazing tour to the farm. We started our tour from tea plantation, before we proceeded to look around the farm we were served with tea and home made delicious cookies. We took 15 min walk around the forest which is home to many medicinal plants and trees. Then we took our lunch. The food was mouth watering with great variety and desert made from farm fresh milk from Irish breed cows in the farm. We spent couple of more hours watching the plants (the plants are available for sale) and birds. We bought butter made from fresh milk and cookies. Thank you to Fiona and team. You are amazing. We learnt a lot from you Fiona. The place is value for money. We spent quality time. Thank you

Nice visit to the house and garden, though it has not really been a tea farm for a very long time. We were taken to the bottom of the garden to see the tea plot they still have, though the fields beyond were sold off long ago. I think the talk would have been enhanced by acknowledging the enormous unfairness of the colonial period, which allowed Kenyan land to be sold at the time by the British Government to Brits. Enjoyed the short forest walk due to the information on the medicinal plants. The only issue overall was the lunch, very plain canteen fare.

Kiambethu Tea Farm, run by Fiona, is a delightful destination. In search of a pleasant activity in Nairobi, visiting Fiona's farm proved to be our best choice. Surrounded by picturesque tea plant hills and lush greenery, the place itself is extraordinary.
Fiona, a welcoming and warm host, adds a personal touch to the experience. Learning about her family's history enhances the authenticity of the visit.
Notably, the lunch exceeded our expectations. The diverse array of delicious dishes at the well-arranged buffet, including homemade ice creams, was a pleasant surprise. It's worth mentioning that Fiona and her staff are considerate of allergies.
Lastly, the tea stands out as one of the best I've ever had!

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Kimbethu Tea Farm, an experience that stands out as a highlight of our day tour excursion while on our Two days Visit to Nairobi. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Fiona, who served not only as our guide but also as an ambassador to the rich heritage and thorough process of tea farming that defines this place.
Fiona led us through the lush green fields, sharing insights about the farm's history, the varieties of tea produced, and the delicate process from leaf to cup. Her passion for tea and the farm was contagious, making the tour not just educational but genuinely captivating.
A special mention must be made of the lunch provided. It was a delightful experience that complemented the day's activities perfectly, offering a taste of local cuisine in a setting that couldn't have been more serene. The hospitality extended to us was unparalleled, making us feel more like honored guests than visitors.
In conclusion, the visit to Kimbethu Tea Farm was more than just a tour; it was an immersive experience that offered deep insights into the world of tea, enriched by the warmth and hospitality of Fiona and the team. This is an excursion I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. The blend of beautiful scenery, fascinating education, and exceptional hospitality makes this tour a must-do for travelers and tea lovers alike.
Crescent Island Game Sanctuary is a wildlife reserve that houses Masai giraffes, hippos, zebras, and pelicans. Visitors can enjoy guided walking safaris, offering a unique opportunity to observe the animals up close. Despite the limited selection of animals on offer, visitors are virtually guaranteed to see them all due to the island's compact size.
Love the experience. Being able to walk around the animals is such a unique feeling and can be even better than safari to certain extent. The selection of animals are not wide, but it’s almost guaranteed that you will see them all since the island is not huge. Gazelle, waterbuck, zebra, wildebeest, lots of birds, and finally, six magnificent giraffes! The boat ride is also a nice part of the journey and there are several hippo families!

Highly recommended activity in Naivasha. Guide is available in the island. A long walking experience amongst zebras, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, water bucks, ostriches, and a lot of other birds. Fantastic experience. Kids above 5 and adults will enjoy the scenic beauty. The guide is very knowledgeable and explains everything in detail.

You get to experience walking amongst the animals, mostly herbivores. On the way to the island, you get to see some of Africa's most majestic birds on a boat. This was my first time on any island, and it has been an incredible experience.
Our tour guide was a member of the Maasai people from Samburu. Got to hear some amazing Maasai stories. Simply incredible.

Great place to walk between the animals. Get a guide and the will tour you arround the Island and spot the animals.
Lasse Bourgonje — Google review
My walking safari on Crescent Island was a truly remarkable experience, especially because of its less touristic nature. This unique aspect made the adventure feel more personal and intimate, a welcome change from the usual crowded safari experiences.
The tranquility of Crescent Island in the late afternoon added a serene and almost magical quality to the safari. Walking freely among the wildlife without the hustle and bustle typically associated with popular tourist spots was a refreshing experience. The calm of the evening made the encounters with the animals even more special.
Being able to walk alongside giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes was an incredible experience. The close proximity to these graceful creatures, in a setting that was peaceful and uncrowded, allowed for a genuine connection with nature. It felt like we were guests in their home, wandering amongst them with a sense of awe and respect.
The less touristic nature of the safari towards the end of the day also meant that we could enjoy the beauty of the island at our own pace. It felt like we had the place to ourselves, which made the experience even more memorable.
In conclusion, the walking safari on Crescent Island is a must-do for anyone looking for a unique, peaceful wildlife experience. The chance to walk among the animals in a less crowded setting, especially towards the end of the day, offers a special opportunity to intimately connect with the wonders of nature. This safari is not just an activity; it's an immersion into the tranquility and beauty of the Kenyan wilderness.

Totally was down to go walk with animals.
Highly recommend this for couples you can even stop for a picnic.
Beautiful scenery my gooosh.
You use a boat from the shore to get there and pay 800/= for Kenyans.
No cars so carry sporty shoes, and make sure you go to the museum.
Lynn Makena — Google review
The island itself is very beautiful, and there are some animals there, but less than during a game drive. On the other hand, you can walk all the time, so it's a nice change if you're all the time in a vehicle for safari. I would have liked to see a better pathway to the boat, especially since I was traveling with my mother who has back issues and was afraid of slipping and hurting herself (and your shoes and pants will get terribly dirty, as well). Even though this was included on our ClubMed tour (we had it in writing), our local guide said we had to pay in cash 2000 Schillings per person for the boat and give an extra tip to the guide on the island...
Andr? Marques — Google review
Going for a guided nature walk and being so close to the wild animals was an experience I really enjoyed.
Cresent is as a result of reduced water levels in L. Naivasha and you can only guess that the place is only accessible by boat. It is approximately a 10 min boat ride from the shores. One will not miss to see the variety of birds and very large hippos.
The entrance ticket rates are quiet affordable and also doesn't take a lot of time to queue. There is a toilet on site though near the game sanctuary entrance. The walk is a bit long and it is advised to wear comfortable hiking shoes plus carry some drinking water.
There are currently no carnivores on the island thus the freedom to walk so close to the animals. It is definitely a place worth visiting 💯💯❤️.
Paula Rerimoi — Google review
This place is simply AMAZING. A corner of paradise. Walk among free wild animals who are barely afraid of humans, get soooo near to them and observe then in their environment.
The complete tour may take 2 hours, depending how much you wander on the island. There are guides to explain you facts about wildlife as well as the history of the island.
Bring cash or mPesa: they don't accept credit cards.
Monica Rinaldi — Google review
To be able to walk among and next to wild animals was an amazing feeling. Some people might say it's kind of a big zoo out in the open but I don't agree.
If you're a foreigner make sure you pay in the local currency as the exchange rate favours you.
It's not an absolute must if you're in Naivasha but if you have time be sure to squeeze it into your itinerary

This place was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere very captivating, with animals all around and the guide made the experience even better. You should definitely check it out!
Jane Munderu — Google review
It's an ok experience at best. The boat cost, the park fee and the extra tipping is all a game to make you the tourist pay. Yes you can walk with zebras and giraffes but it's a elaborate zoo. The guides are nice hence no problem to tip them but the company should pay them living wages instead of them relying on tourists. The total cost isn't worth it with everyone from boatman to park management trying to rip you off. You are basically a donkey with a different appearance if you go do this.
Sarthak Rastogi — Google review
Great walking safari experience. You have to negotiate for the boat trip price as they try to rip you off but it’s worth doing to see the hippos. Once you get to the island you’re guaranteed to see a lot of animals and the walk around takes about 1.5 hours

Absolutely fantastic! Great place, very romantic, I had the most amazing experience, perfect for a romantic get away, unique experience where you get so close to the animals in the park, the boat ride was awesome as well. Highly recommend
Lake Nakuru, a soda lake located in Rift Valley and surrounded by fenced areas, is a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The park offers an excellent opportunity to spot rhinoceroses, making it one of the best places in Africa for such sightings. In addition to rhinos, the lake boasts numerous flamingos and other animals that can be observed during safaris. The park's entrance fee is 880 and it features stunning natural beauty that makes it well worth the visit.

We traveled all over Kenya and Tanzania with Mama Savana Safaris and Lake Nakuru was probably my top favorite places to visit. It’s just absolutely breathtaking.
Here we saw hippos, warthogs, zebras, monkeys, lots of birds, rhino, elephants, Rothschild giraffe, lions… I mean the list goes on and on. Plus it’s not too far from Nairobi!
One of the MOST MAGICAL DAYS OF MY LIFE happened here and I truly mean that. Towards the end of one of our days here we were off pretty far, back into the park in this sort of valley area. No other Safari vehicles were on site and we just drove! My husband spotted a large tower of giraffe and so our driver/guide stopped so we could take photos. As time went on they got closer and closer and we ended up counting more than 24 Rothschild giraffe. It was BREATHTAKING! Nowhere else did we see so many. Got some incredible shots of them too that I hop to get printed one day and hang up in our house.
It was just a magical place. There are so many cool parks all over Kenya, but please don’t pass this one. Go to it! Enjoy! It’s beautiful!

Saline lake known for its flamingo population & multiple geysers shooting up to 16 ft. high.
It’s an alkaline lake, within the rift basin. It prides in the pink flamingoes & hot springs (geysers). It’s within a community national reserve, which means it’s cheap to get into. To get to the lake, you may need a 4*4 vehicle, as the terrain os rough off road, with roads comprising of 75% rocks. Friendly community and exceptional views. You can access the late from Mogotio town, where we have the sisal plantations or from Marigat, where we have the Bogoria spa resort.

The water level has gone very high in the last few years so you cannot see most of the geysers, there was only one small place you could see some boiling water in the ground, nice as it is, it isn't worth the 45 min drive. The flamingos you can see only from the distance, so you better look for them in lake Nakuru.

Very friendly staff and the location is very close to the town and conveniently near a supermarket. Nyahururu gets pretty nippy at might so the fireplaces in the room and restaurant lounges were very handy. Rooms are old (seems like a colonial building with timber floors, non-functional bathtubs, standalone closets and wood shingles) but some people do find a charm in this. A couple half board room cost 9,500 (about 90$) and the chef was willing to accommodate our pretty early checkout and have a packed breakfast ready for it. Right across the fence from Thompson's Falls and the breakfast we had was really quite good. Would definitely stay over at a later date

The conservancy hosts the last three northern white rhinos, which were relocated from the Dvur Kralove Zoo and have yet to breed successfully. Additionally, there are endangered species like Grevy's zebra and Jackson's hartebeest within its enclosure.
Ol Pejeta is a piece of 🕊on 🌍. The serenity the place offers is beyond measure. The Flora and Fauna completes the hills and open Savannah fields. It's the best place to recharge and unwind 🌳

After flying into Nairobi this was the first park Mama Savana Safaris took us to for a game drive and we saw almost everything that first day/night!
You can also pay extra to see the last two remaining female northern white rhinos and learn about what the conservancy is doing to help protect the species! It’s incredible! They will basically soon be using embryos and inseminating southern white rhinos, using them as a surrogate to help carry the babies and hopefully save the specific rhino! 🦏
I highly suggest going even if it’s just to see those two rhinos!
The park has so much to offer and is so close to Nairobi!

We got to see a lot of things but the price for non residents is absurd compared to residents. Makes it almost not worth going! One of the highlights was the restaurant inside. Really good!!

A great park to see a lot of wildlife without having to drive for days and days. Easy to enter early in the morning and to drive around until closing time, and you can cover the entire park with its diverse terrain in 1 day. They have the chimp enclosure which is an interesting tour, Baraka the gentle blind rhino who you can feed, an enclosure with 3 rare white rhino you can see as you drive by. A great place to start your self drive safari experience in Kenya, there are self catering accommodation options just outside the park, and nanyuki town has shops and restaurants where you can stock up on supplies

What an outstanding experience & opportunity to get to see the the last 2 northern white rhinos! Wish I had come earlier to meet Sudan. Biy I have not cried this much in a long time. But there ate 13 little angelsl of hope that will make his legacy last. IM REALLY DISAPPOINTED TO SEE ANYOME DRIVE FREELY WITH NO SUPERVISION & ALSO IN ANY COLOR CARS. ALL OF THESE CAN BE A RECIPE FOR DISASTER FOR THIS WONDERFUL CONSERVATION HEAVEN..PLEASE TIGHTEN UP THE RULES.

Reception was helpful and shared a map to guide us as the place is massive. Got chance to feed and stroke Baraka the blind rhino, such a sweet boy. So much to see and learn about wildlife and nature in general.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located in Nanyuki and I had an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the roads were well maintained, making it easy to tour the entire place. The view of Mount Kenya was breathtaking and seeing Baraka, the blind rhino, was a unique and special experience. We also got to stand on the equator, which was thrilling. The conservancy is home to a variety of wildlife, and the game drive was one of the highlights of our trip. Ol Pejeta is a leading wildlife conservancy in Kenya, known for its efforts in protecting endangered species. It was great to learn about conservation efforts and contribute to the cause by visiting. Overall, I highly recommend Ol Pejeta Conservancy to anyone visiting Kenya or living in Kenya. It's a wonderful place to experience the beauty of Kenya's wildlife and landscape while also contributing to conservation efforts.

It's one conservancy where one is able to not only see but encounter all the big five within a short drive. Very good insight into conservation being on the IUCN greenlist. Their story inspiring. Make a date and visit

Easy to access, 4wd vehicle not a necessity as the roads are smoother than most parks/conservancy in the country, in my experience not a lot of game but the ones they have are easy to see, as for the Chimps visit early before they wonder off! Otherwise a pleasant conservancy.

Ol Pejeta is the most wonderful place on earth for African wildlife conservation. Everything you can imagine to see, you can at Ol Pejeta. The animals are living authentic wild lives. The experience is wild. Within minutes of arriving at Ol Pejeta, we had already seen a herd of elephants, crash of rhinos and pride of lions (post hunt, bellies full and sated). The dedication, knowledge and love the rangers and guides have for the animals is unquestionable. Our guide, Manu, went above and beyond to give us the best experience. Nothing was too much. And his knowledge and love for his Kenyan homeland and animals wonderful to see. Thank you Manu

Perfect day to see almost all the big five. Many animals were out despite the dryness and dusty environment. We took a guide at the entrance. Patrick was just fantastic in his explanations. The kids loved to feed Baraka, the blind rhino.
Mount Kenya, the highest peak in Kenya, is renowned for its breathtaking views and verdant forests, offering various trails and campsites. Visitors can choose to add a trek to the summit of Mount Kenya or upgrade to a Masai Mara lodge to extend their itinerary. Although the weather may be cold, it is an unforgettable experience with a guide and porter who provide assistance on this historic mountain that was first hiked many years ago.
this the best to go when you want to get from it all.its the most relaxing place i have went .

Amazing national park with many opportunities to see wildlife along the routes.
We were going to point lenana, everything was so perfect. The camps are located perfectly with nice views. The local guides are super nice and doing everything for your convenience.

Mount Kenya point Lenana peak 4,985 m the hike was both exhilarating and difficult.
4 days 3 nights hike we used the Old moses Camp route which was not hard
We had porters to help with our luggage bless them 🙏🏾🙏🏾 cause weeeeuh I won't have made it.
We reached Old Moses camp at around 2 P.M since we decided to hike in October rainy seasons it was so cold 🥶🥶 not sleeping in tents thank God for that
The views from there were beautiful 🤗🤗
Woke up the following day and started our hike to Shipton Camp. Those kilometres were not a joke 🤣🤣🤣 till you see the first sight of the white peaks I fell in love 😍😍😍
At Shipton we froze our behinds off getting there but guys the views there I could believe I was summiting that beautiful mountain 🏔️🏔️🏔️
Day 3 we summited Mt Kenya around 6 in the morning the snow fell hard we didn't stay long before we had to hike to lake Michaelson to Lake Ellis and headed home the following day
This was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever experienced 😊😊 and I will definitely do it again this year just not in October 🤣🤣

What a great mountain. I loved my experience. I found the landscape astonishing. I am glad I was with a guide and a porter. It helped me having a wonderful time out there. I also learned a lot about the history of the place and its first hikers. Behaware though, the weather is cold. Be prepared in consequence.

The great scenarios within Mt. Kenya National park such as tarns, lakes, the huge heaps of stones (peaks), amazing guards and teammates made this hike the best among the few I have had.
The rough terrain which tested on the eagerness to climb up the peak was something else, ooh, don't forget the chilling cold late in the evening and early in the morning and receiving blessings in terms of rain as we trekked the tracks.
I am grateful to have experienced a sunrise while at the top of the third highest peak on Mt. Kenya with an attitude of 4985m ASL. I would encourage you to pay a visit and experience it yourself once you're well prepared physically, mentally and even emotionally.

We went for a day trip through the Sirimon Gate. The road to the gate is rough, after the gate tarmac but very steep. We were only allowed to get in after we had arranged a guide. We walked up from "Old Moses" for about three hours and then went down the same way. The views are special but do not change during the hike. The entrance fee is too high for just a few hours of walking.

We used the chogoria entrance. The drive to the base of the mountain is so refreshing and peaceful.
You get to enjoy the uninterrupted forest which boasts all kinds of indigenous trees and thicket.
We climbed through the mountain, to come out through the nanyuki exit.
Great!

Mount Kenya is the second-highest mountain in Africa and a popular hiking destination for adventure lovers. Located near the equator, it boasts a remarkable scenery, diverse wildlife, and challenging terrain. The mountain provides a wide range of trekking and climbing options, and it's can be tackled by mountain enthusiasts with varying levels of experience.
Hiking Mount Kenya is an unforgettable experience with breathtaking views from every angle. The mountain has three main peaks: Batian, Nelion, and Lenana. Although Batian is the highest peak, reaching Lenana at 4,985 meters is an achievable goal for most hikers. The trek to Lenana Peak is ideal for beginners and takes around three to four days to complete.
The mountain also offers trekkers an opportunity to explore unique ecological zones. The lower slopes are covered in dense forest, which gradually gives way to bamboo and highland heath. Further up, you'll experience alpine and lunar landscapes as you approach the summit.
Overall, Mount Kenya is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves the outdoors. It's a challenging yet rewarding trek that immerses trekkers in a blend of wilderness, culture and adventure. With proper gear, professional guides, and a good level of fitness, hikers can make unforgettable memories summiting the peaks and admiring the stunning views.
Wildlife & savanna scenery are the main draws at this rustic park with camping & a rhino sanctuary.
One of the best places that lives up to its slogan,.... The complete wilderness.
This park is great if you want to have time in and with nature. Very few vehicles during your game drive.
It's also a Rhino Sanctuary.

One of our favourites in Kenya!
Easy to get around, welcoming staff and of course also lots of animals. Unfortunaly we didn't know that you are just allowed to open the Gate to the rhino sanctuary in the Park, so we missed out in that one. At Times the grass is quite high, which makes it more difficult to spot some animals, but you'll manage. Also great Public Campsite!

Visited the park with my family over Christmas, and had a beautiful and relaxing experience. There’s something calming in that air 😁
Bummed that we didn’t get to see Elephants or Lions as we wished though.
The paths are well marked, so you can’t get lost and the guide gave us her number just in case. It should be noted that in some places around the park there is little to no network.
Make sure to carry snacks, a camera and go with a car that’s suitable for the terrain because they don’t offer transport.
There are many hotels surrounding and within the camp that can offer great all inclusive services.

This is one of the hidden gems of Kenyan fauna and flora. There are vast number of animals such as thousands of elephants, hundreds of herds of buffaloes, water bucks, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, gazelles, and many more. If you are keen rise early you are likely to see lions, leopards, and other carnivores hunting! are myriads of birds like Somali ostriches, herons, crown birds, storks, sterling among others.
Meru national park is especially known for the rhinos. It has a large well-protected and preserved rhino sanctuary. It boasts of white rhino and has the second largest rhino population in Africa.
The are numerous hotels in this well-watered vast wild. I'd advise that you go there with a plan to spend the night and enjoy the full experience of the wild.
The only downside is the road to getting there. The road from Maua town is a bit too pot-holed and rough...but I suppose it is the Safari experience!😎

My trip to the park was a self-drive. It was during the afternoon and we did not manage to see most of the big 5. We were lucky enough to see a lion that was feeding on a zebra but it ran and hid on seeing us. The trails in the park are well-labelled. We did not seek the services of a guide. Most of the areas in the park were dry during our visit, apart from the areas along the many rivers that we crossed.

Home to many Nile crocodiles, Ethiopia's 3rd-largest lake is a famous spot to photograph wildlife.
I love it. It is a big lake, and I saw crocodiles and eagles. My children are enjoying the boat trips
Solomon Eshete & Co. — Google review
During my visit, I happened to take the boat trip on Chamo lake in the afternoon, and the locals told me that during the afternoon, hippopotamuses are usually hidden underwater to avoid the sun and I couldn't see any. In addition, there were large flies that bite and with that condition it was very hard to concentrate and enjoy the view. It is highly recommended to take the boat ride in morning time for the reasons mentioned above.

What a place! Beware one slip up and you will be on the menu. This is home to the worlds largest Nile crocodiles. You wont be disappointed take a boat trip, protect your camera from the waves. Yes waves that suddenly whip up. Trust your boatman, generally they are experts and know how close to take their passengers. Of course they are on a constant watch for hippo, who share these waters with the crocodiles.
This is an experience which is difficult to forget a 400mm lens will get you some memorable shots, take your photos at + 800th of a second.

Bale Mountains is a range of protected mountains in Ethiopia, featuring Tullu Demtu which stands at 4377m. The area is home to various reserved animals, including the Ethiopian wolf, and boasts the highest drivable point above 4000mas. It's recommended to allocate additional days for exploration of Bale Mountains, Harar or the Omo Valley as there are still other areas that will potentially open up for tourism as infrastructure improves in the future.
