Beautiful park for walking, running, bicycles, or just sit and watch the ducks, iguanas, and birds. Free admission. Several play areas for the kids. Wonderful place to spend a few hours.

It is a nice place to walk around, but apart from some notifications by the trees it is more a park than a real botanical garden.
But it is amazing to watch so much birds, squirrels and plants in the middle of a city. If I were to live in Los Mochis I would spend a lot of my time there, just reading a book on one of the many benches.
Jeanette Slagt — Google review
Lovely park, botanical gardens, focusing on the cacti of Mexico and elsewhere

Can't get enough of this place. We don't have a park like this in CDMX. Palm trees, lawns, paths and a circuit for jogging or walking with a stopwatch and distance markings. A refuge in what is an otherwise rather uninteresting town.
William Ford — Google review
This park in the middle of Los Mochis is the pride of the city! With its winding path that goes through regional trees, a palm grove, many plants and fauna, and along small canals that leads to a large pond with small islands that are inhabited by, among ducks and geese; large iguanas sunbathing, along with hundreds of turtles swimming around, and sunning on the shores and rocks. Featured in the middle is a waterfall like fountain that you can walk behind. But don't spend all your time watching the birds, turtles and iguanas you've only made it through the first quarter of the park. Behind the impressive front gates that are opened up so the public can see the large ground fountain, shooting water straight up with children running around in it. Just past the fountain is a huge playground with many places for kids to crawl on, including two swinging bridges, tower in the middle. Clean public restrooms nearby. And last of all acres and acres of grassy fields and picnic areas. The park is staffed by constant workers cleaning up, planting trees, cutting grass and monitoring the area for safety. A little info: the park was once the massive grounds surrounding the citys founder's Mansion/Hacienda, many parts of it are still standing all around. The city and park were founded by an American family named Benjamin Francis Johnston and these are his botanical gardens.

What a beautiful park in the centre of a busy city. Immediately upon entering this park you leave behind a lot of the noise of traffic and it was lovely and peaceful. The park has hundreds of species of trees in their arboretum. There is an 8 km walking track frequently used by walkers and joggers. A lovely place to stroll or exercise. There are even stations of exercise equipment anyone can use through out the park. There is a place to get food and/or drinks. No cost to enter. Open during the day.

Despite some shortcomings of the exhibition space (loud music, unfortunate taxidermy - see attached) this place is pretty spectacular. An original 16th century fort built to defend against local, unweilding tribespeople.
Climb up for a fabulous view of the river and watch the sun set over the protected hunting grounds.
If the museum had explained the story of this place better, maybe with more information about the people who shaped it - rather than a bunch of 19th century photos (interesting, but given no context), this would definitely rank 5*

The Jardín Botánico Culiacán is a vast 10-hectare botanical garden in Culiacan, Mexico, showcasing an impressive variety of plant species from around the world. It offers workshops and guided tours for enthusiasts of open areas and plants. One of its main attractions is the largest collection of palm trees in Mexico, along with other well-organized plant groups. The botanical garden also boasts captivating architectural designs that complement its content.
If you are an open areas and plants enthusiast, this is a place you can't miss on your visit to Culiacán. The biggest collection of palm trees in Mexico are displayed in this botanical garden. It also presents some other plants groups in a well ordered way.
There are also, some interesting architectural concepts intended to match with the content of the botanical garden that are worth of admiring.
Be sure to carry your umbrella, a good pair of sunglasses and sun block when you come.
It would be useful for some visitors to be able to obtain a field guide to the plants exhibited in the botanical garden, since it's almost impossible to remember by heart all the species shown in this place.

The Malecón de Mazatlán is a 13-mile coastal walkway featuring street vendors, shops, and restaurants with stunning ocean views. This long promenade has a dedicated bike/skateboard lane and ample space for walking, making it an ideal spot for outdoor activities like biking, running or rollerblading. The beaches are also great here and one can enjoy the afternoon at the beachfront restaurants with good food and cold beer.

This is a very LONG malecon-- probably at least five miles long. The longest I've seen in Mexico. They've done a good job of building a nice road between the beach and the businesses. The malecon has a bike/skateboard lane, and plenty of room to walk. The only thing it doesn't have is sufficient parking.

The area is nice but so many of the business are shut down due to poor management or other issues. If you like banda then this place is great, unfortunately they don’t offer a lot of variety. The water is guarded by rocks, so the swimming is limited. The activities are limited and the costs are tripled that of Cancun. I suggest spending time elsewhere.

It's about 6 miles long in total. Great place to walk, take in sites, restaurants, shopping. Fun place to chill with a 6 pack, take pics or go for jog. You can walk it or grab a taxi. Goodtimes.
Manny A — Google review
Not anywhere near 13 miles. I can run it in an hour and I'm not that fast. If you count walking on the curvy tight rounds to El Faro or through the tourist district (not on the ocean). You could get close to 13 miles. But the nice walking area next o the ocean is less than 5 miles. It's still a great walk or bike ride.
denise z — Google review
The area is nice and very walkable. Taxi rides are also fairly cheap, just make sure that you set the price before getting in. I would recommend knowing at least some basic Spanish, but I am sure that you can also get through with an app like Google Translate. There are a lot of vendors so if you're looking for some items at a fairly cheap price, you'll be in heaven.

P.º Olas Altas 75-Int.1, Centro, 82000 Mazatlán, Sin., Mexico
The apartments at Old Mazatlán Condominiums are perfect for visitors who want to be close to the action but also want a bit of peace and quiet. The building is situated right on Playa Olas Altas, a small beach where the waterfront road strongly evokes the 1950s. The area is dotted with student life and numerous art galleries, cafes, restaurants and bars, making it a delightful destination.
I am rarely to never inspired to write reviews of anything but we had such a lovely stay at the Old Mazatlán Inn that I feel compelled to recommend it to other travelers.
Old Mazatlán Inn is located near the historic Centro of Mazatlán, it is a couple of blocks from one of the nicest beaches in the city and close to a variety of restaurants. It's nowhere near the majority of most of the hotels, meaning it's a much quieter, more genuine part of Mazatlán.
The rooms are actually condos so in each unit there is everything you could possibly need - a small kitchen, a television, desk, chairs, etc. The inn is charming. A lot of attention has been paid to the decor and design of the units and the outside spaces. The terraces are one very nice feature - you can see the ocean as well as the city.
As nice as all this was, the best part of our stay (and why I felt like I should write this review) is because the hosts at the Old Mazatlán Inn made us feel so comfortable and welcome. We were traveling in Mazatlán during the off season so there weren't many people staying at the Inn. I feel like it would be easy to kind of forget about us but they didn't. In fact, they went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. During our stay a tropical storm/hurricane hit Sinaloa to the north of Mazatlán so as one could imagine there was quite a bit of rain. Some of which made it's way into our room under the door (we were not surprised or upset, that's the kind of thing that happens when rain and wind are battering a condo). We were pleasantly surprised to come back from lunch and find that our room had been mopped and the water taken care of (unasked!) our hosts decided to move us into a larger unit for the issue (also, unasked). Our hosts were able to answer questions about things to do in Mazatlán and ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay. O'Neil and Jorge made our stay very pleasant and should we find ourselves in Mazatlán again, we know where we will be staying.

Plaza Machado is a charming open space flanked by elegant 19th-century edifices, adorned with lush palm trees and colorful flower beds. By day, it exudes a tranquil ambiance, but at night it transforms into a bustling market with numerous terrace eateries that offer live music performances. The square is an idyllic tourist destination known for its romantic vibe where couples can walk hand-in-hand and enjoy the warm atmosphere of outdoor cafes.
The Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción is a magnificent Catholic church located in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. The church is well-maintained and offers a peaceful atmosphere despite being frequented by tourists taking pictures. Security is present but the overall vibe is relaxed. Mass times are available on Sundays with hourly services during mid-day hours. The cathedral's location on the shores of the Pacific provides a beautiful backdrop for worship and photography opportunities.
I really wish I had more time to explore Mazatlan. I was on a seven-day cruise and I feel like I only scratched the surface. One highlight, though, was visiting the Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción. It was truly beautiful and a must-see for anyone traveling to the are

This church is amazing. It is definitely worth a stop by to check out the amazing architecture or go and talk with God. We went on a Saturday and there was a wedding going on. We could only sneak in for a few quick photos. I wish we could have seen more of the church. I suggest going to view during a mass.

Beautiful well maintained church. Despite all the tourists coming in to take pictures (like me), there's a peaceful calmness one can soak in if one stops and sits down for a moment and quiets one's mind. There were lots of security ladies gathered across the street. Vibe seemed very relax. A 15 minute walk from the cruise line port. Nice walk if you're not in a rush and in fair shape.

I gave it a 5-star rating and would definitely go back again.

Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción is a beautiful place to visit, whether you are Catholic or not. I feel very peaceful when I’m there. The church looks great from far away and gorgeous when I walk closer in. The interior is so beautiful and solemn. Try to come early on the weekday or in the afternoon on Sunday.

The Catedral Bailica de la Inmaculada Conception is a beautiful active Catholic Church. Please be respectful and take off your hats, lower your voice and be respectful with people that come to pray. Know that not everyone is a tourist. The architecture is beautiful and you can see that the church has been rebuild by looking at the walls outside but the inside looks original. Come stop by, leave a donation so the church can continue to be restored and open.
James Klein — Google review
Beautiful cathedral —Spanish Mass offered daily, plan ahead for seasonal schedule. This is a traditional Catholic Church, those celebrating Eucharist take by mouth and not by hand (common in US). No missalette available, so I used my mobile app, Laudate, which offers English and Spanish translation of the daily reading. Centrally located across from the main city plaza, an easy ride from cruise terminals. I can recommend using DiDi for ride (like an Uber/Lyft) and each way was MX peso $35 or today’s conversion rate of about $2.04 each way—MUCH less expensive than the set terminal taxi stand, which was $9/USD each way. I also stopped in a frozen fruit/ice cream shop for a quick watermelon refreshment—many other fruit flavors are offered for about $1.50 per bar. The plaza was festive and very much ALIVE with tourists and locals during this holiday season. Local police are present to help with traffic flow and general safety.

Mazatlan Aquarium is a well-stocked facility featuring an impressive fish tank and live shows with marine animals, including sea lions and sharks. The restroom facilities are notably clean. However, some visitors may find it challenging that all information is provided in Spanish only. Despite this, a visit offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about these magnificent creatures and have an enjoyable experience for both adults and children alike.
Had a fun time here, the penguins were a treat. The shows were fun and I would think informative if I could understand Spanish. They did make us non locals feel welcome. Well worth a visit. Good for a few hours entertainment. Will go again when I come back to Mazatlan.
Wade Rutherford — Google review
This is a pretty good Aquarium and Zoo facility. It is pretty well-stocked with marine and land animals. In general, it is pretty clean-- especially where it counts-- the restrooms. The live shows were not great, but pretty good. The only thing I, being American, didn't like, is that everything is in Spanish-- which is not my first language. But all in all, it was a pretty good experience. :-)
Manuel ?Manny? — Google review
Not what I thought. They mention as the largest aquarium in Mexico but no shark tank or penguins yet, but they still charge full tickets. Only one show. Sorry, but was not impressed.

Wish this wasn’t so gimmicky. Asked three separate times for time share presentations! It’s the aquarium not a mall. They had one or two species that I hadn’t seen before. Wish the tanks were a bit cleaner. I could also do without all the extra birds and reptiles.

Acuario Mar de Cortez in Mazatlan is complete. It's one of the largest aquariums in Latin America. The architecture is very modern and has beautiful gardens and wall fountains.
It has 700 fish species, an aviary, crocodiles, and some mammals that we didn’t see because they are finishing their habitat. The fish tanks are huge and well kept. They have an educational and interactive area for kids and adults.
The price is accessible and if you are in Mazatlan, it is worth visiting this important place. After all, it is the biggest aquarium in Latino America.

Spent about 3 1/2 hours there. Very impressive if you like aquarium. Had pictures taken with a sealion, very fun. Wasn't crowded until the afternoon when a local school had a field trip. Several live shows to watch, and a few interactive exhibits. You can feed a stingray. Extras do cost money.

This is a great aquarium and a must go place when in Mazatlan. Definitely worth the price of admission. It's very interactive and the staff is quite knowledgeable. There are a couple of souvenir stores and a few restaurants. The aquarium is beautiful. Well worth it, the family had a great time.

Glad we went on a Saturday after the New Year. Got there around 2:30pm and surprised to see there were no lines. The grand aquarium, bird show and aviary were free to enter, but you have to get a separate ticket for the seal show. Most instructions were in spanish, so we used Google Translate or asked the guides to speak in English (if possible). Great place to visit with kids. It was worth the trip for us.

This place is awe inspiring. Worth every pesos, and every moment to get to. It looks like a big, modern concrete building but once inside it is like walking on the ocean floor and experiencing it without diving gear! My son (5) and I were equally impressed with the interactive experiences. The shows were great (a bit short and all in Spanish) - we laughed at the sea lions and had a lot of fun. I have traveled a lot and this place is truly amazing.

Loved the way the building naturally flows and interacts with the huge acrylic tanks. Loved seeing the divers swim and interact with marine life, you are allowed to touch starfish and also feed the stingrays. The sea lyon show was amazing.

The aquarium is well designed and boasts some impressive spaces for viewing the various creatures. The building is amazing, but it was a bit crowded and loud in the smaller rooms and around the interactive areas. The penguins and sea lion displays were particularly delightful.

Puente de Ojuela and Mapimí are the must see attractions in Durango. I have been to Mapimí many times and have made many friends there. The people are so friendly. (Translated by Google) It is a bridge built since the existence of Pancho Villa, it is used to reach the mines that are located right on the mountain in front. It has a length of more than 300 meters, the structure is very old and you feel a sensation of being in the wild West. It's worth it in every way

Well-known cable-car tower at the peak where the Cristo de las Noas statue of Christ sits.
A simple reminder of how small we are between the stars. It's a beautiful view, has a restaurant for a couples date night, and dinosaurs for the kiddos. There is a lot of walking up there stairs so wear comfortable shoes and bring some water.

A truly different perspective on Torreón. I highly recommend it and if you go up for the sunset make sure you get early enough to enjoy it. The bar closes early and also there are lots of levels to explore.

What an awesome place. I really like the peace you feel inside the church and how much thought have been put into the making of the cite. Still work to be done and they seem to be working on it. I fully Recommend this place to have a better look of the statue and for a panoramic view of the city. Loved it.

Very nice! Price was about $3 for two people and the trip took about 10 minutes.
Very nice view and I have been on other cable cars and it was not near as scary as some of the others that I have been on in the past.
It provides a wonderful Vista of the entire city and is a nice experience. The cars hold up to 8 people and slow down significantly so you can get in.
I highly recommend a trip up the teleferico if you are in Torreon.

A cheap and fun way to spend an hour. A 10 minute ride each way. And the great viewpoint from the top
Daniel Patman — Google review
Great fun for the whole family. Only 30 pesos for adults and 15 pesos for children and senior citizens. You catch the cable car downtown and take the ride up to the top of the mountain. It takes only about 5 minutes. It gives you a great view of the whole city of Torreon. You can see for many miles in all directions in a clear day.

Despite certain areas being off-limits due to covid-19 restrictions, the venue remains impressive. Museo del Desierto is a modern natural history museum located in Saltillo, showcasing various exhibits on the Chihuahuense Desert and its formation due to sea currents. Visitors can find dinosaur skeletons, fossils, live animals such as reptiles and gray wolves, prairie dogs and a botanical garden with over 400 cactus species. This top attraction provides an enjoyable day out for families to explore the history of Saltillo while learning about geology, paleontology and biology.
It is a nice place to visit, has many information that is share with videos, text, pictures, etc.
ait is a long walk, it could be tiring for some people, but is very nice.
Also, at the end of the walk, you can buy some souvenirs.

In comparison to many other museums in other much advanced and bigger cities the visit is really well on advised. Not only is informative but fun too. The zoo part not a big one but the history museum is really nice.
I don't know much Spanish but there are audio guides in English.
The 3d experience is a fun thought but needs quality improvement.

It’s an amazing place to spend the day with family. It tells the history of Saltillo, has a dinosaur museum, small zoo, live animals, crystals and almost everything about Saltillo and Coahuila.

I love this museum, it has many things to discover from dinosaurs until real snakes! Like Cascabel and Python! 😍 Unfortunately I couldn't see the Gabon snake 🥲 only his skull but the next time I come to Saltillo I will visit it on weekdays!
I recommend you arrive early to see everything, eat something here and buy gifts for your friends and family!

Very good natural history museum, lots of things to see for kids and adults. Loved the paleontology and minerals section of the museum. We had fun as a family.
The parking machine is not the most reliable and useful, it only takes small Mexican bills so you’re forced to go back and get change.

Excellent way to spend the day! I was really blown away by the size and scope of this location: museum, green house, zoo, mercado, snack bar, and a dinosaur area. It was PACKED when we went, but it was a public holiday. I don’t know how it is on a normal weekend or weekday. They had an audio tour that was available in English and Spanish. This is a must see in Saltillo.

Excellent place to get away. The kids loved it and so did I. We went on a nice cool day and the animals were very active on the zoo part. The museum is a lot bigger than I thought and spent around 3-4 hours there. The place is very well maintained

Huge place and a must see if you are in the Saltillo area. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of this museum. While the main attraction seems to be fossil exhibits they have some history exhibits as well. The added bonus of a small zoo was surprising too. Very nice place overall, a bit crowded and lacks any real lunch options but other than that it’s a great place to visit.

I was not expecting such an amazing museum, I had doubts with the museum title and the day I went was about 90 degrees outside so I was not very thrilled about it but when I go there and I saw what it really was , I can definitely say everything was worth it , they have a lot to offer.

Beautifully designed and full of so much detail. I'm glad I took the time to bring the family out here to visit this museum. The place is bigger than it looks so bring snacks or visit the dining area inside. It took us almost 3 hours to walk through and enjoy it.

This ecological park is a beautiful place to explore nature trails and mountainside observatory. The park is filled with lush vegetation, mountainous terrain, and abundant wildlife. It's perfect for hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, or simply relax in the serene surroundings. The visitor center has maps and information on the various trails throughout the park. There are also restaurants and cafes in the town of Chipinque which makes it a great place to spend a day or two exploring the area.
"Chipinque Ecological Park offers a wonderful hiking experience amidst breathtaking scenery. It's truly the best place to unwind and connect with nature. My son who is in a wheelchair had a bear encounter and the bear got so close that he even though of petting him but wisely decided not to do it. Good thing he didn't get nervous and was very calm while the bear was sniffing him. You can see my son in the photo and the bear at that point hunting for food in the trash. By the way I was in another area of the premises while the bear was close to him and probably was better because I would have run towards the bear to try to scare him an who knows what other outcome we would have had.

The goal is to hike up a few miles to get to the top of Chipinque, or if you are not feeling that adventurous you can drive very slowly to the top. Good location, easy to get to the Monterrey airport. From check-in to check-out, the entire staff was attentive and helpful to each of us. The proximity to Fundidora Park was ideal for those who like to jog/run in the morning. Unfortunately the rooms are not the best, some smell musty, and they did have cleaning issues (although not serious). Regarding the hotel's catering service for the event we attended, I had a couple of allergic reactions to the food that did not go beyond taking an antihistamine. I would definitely return, although not for vacation purposes only for work events.

The worst place in Monterrey, Please save some trouble don't stay there.
We were supposed to be only one night, I have a reservation on a suite for 2 adults and one kid. 1 king bed, living area, and a couch, with a balcony and service of breakfast and snacks and alcoholic drinks, included. So dreamy for $320 a night, when I did my reservation, I said sure is worth it. Unfortunately, I never received a confirmation of the things that were included. Be aware when your book with them.
Once we arrived, we had horrible service, don't even Hello, this was Lucia. I was booked with a Presidential suite, so The door was locked to the living area and they give me an extra room with a connexion extra 2 queen beds .and without any service what they said was included. Aftermath they charge $470 dlls for one night. Then No sheets on the bed, Bugs on the wall, the bathroom disgusting and old, and people with bad attitudes. Like if they didn't want me to stay, Also No water, no coffee, No fridge no Towels were super old and worn. I WAS able to talk to the Manger 4 hrs later, luckily he was able to make it a little bit discounted the room price for the inconvenience but still, unfortunately, was too late at night when they decide to unlock the doors, I was very tired and exhausted to deal with that horrific service, basically all day and next day leaving early they said breakfast at 6:30 am we were there, right after the time it said to catch a flight and 20 mints after, breakfast still weren't open to the public with the excuse that they were running late. So overall Very, Very disappointed and sad about what Holiday Inn hotel Parque Fundidora is now. Never again! Please save yourself the trouble. Also, I wish I would see the previous review before seems like still the same people working there, including the bell boy was so disrespectful and rude. How they can still maintain working with the same people there? That's why your business starts falling on disappointed to the costumers that we are sold out rooms by lies.

On my arrival trying to check in the staff was not friendly/welcoming at all. Miguel did my check in, my view was horrible, there was no safe box and the phone wasn’t working so I had to go back to Miguel to let him know, I requested another room with a better view, even if I had to pay extra . He seem careless and did not even apologized. He just said to come back tomorrow morning. We went to the restaurant ate there (staff in here was very friendly)and then we were on our way for a walk when someone was chasing us asking us for our names, room num, etc. We asked him what was the issue he said Miguel said you are not staying here and you just left a car in the parking area. We were very surprised because by this time he knows us already, we have been interacting when checking in, the complaint and he saw us at the bar having some drinks too. We had no car, he knew we were foreigners because of my ID. The most upsetting part is that when he saw us coming to the front desk he ran and hid all the time we were talking with Samantha about all these issues. Samantha was more friendly and nice.We went back to our room to drop off some stuff the phone was still not working no safe box yet either. After our walk at Paseo Santa Lucía, Samantha took care of the phone and the safe box. The next morning I went to the front desk again with the view issue requesting another room and the same answer was giving to check with them again later on. They never changed my room which it was upsetting because of the amount of money we paid they should of have accommodated us or at least seem like they were trying. Then we needed ice and the ice machine was on the 4th floor but with our card it will not give us access to the 4th floor, causing another inconvenience. Then the card was deactivated one day before our check out date. Again it was an inconvenience after an inconvenience and nobody seem to care I requested to speak with the person in charge because at this point I am very irritated and they told me she wasn’t available they just told me her name was Lucia Bautista. Miguel shouldn’t even be working there I passed by the front desk several times the phones were ringing and he was just sitting there not caring at all, letting the phones ring. He seemed like he had a personal issue towards us since day one. He should be sent to a customer service training. His position it’s all about hospitality and he doesn’t have it at all. For the area and the type of hotel you expect an excellent service. Also seems like they haven’t been giving the hotel a good maintenance/attention to detail, balcony was filthy, the toilet you will have to press the flush for around 10 seconds in order to flush it, very outdated facility and rooms. No fridge no microwave. I will definitely not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. The only good experience was at the restaurant the staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. They were very fast with your requests.

I started out at the west end of the riverwalk, at the fountain of fuente Santa Lucia and walked the entire length, starting around 11am.
It was about 80 degrees by then and the heat can be unpleasant to deal with if you're not used to it. I would recommend to walk early in the morning or sunset, or use an umbrella or hat, as most of the length does not have enough shade and the sun really beats down on you.
The great thing about this place is the amount of birds and wildlife on the riverwalk. Also, at both east and west ends there are stands that sell ice cold juice. I grabbed a Mango at the east end near the waterfall statue for 35 pesos.
You can walk down either side of the river and there are several small bridges that you can use throughout the river to cross to either side. Some pictures on google show the 'Nuevo Leon' sign near the waterfall statue but it's no longer there as of 02/26/23.. still, great place to take pics!

Visited from Eagle Pass and it had been a few years since the last time and was impressed! Variety of stores and great clothes! I loved it! Recommended it!

We arrived before the dinner rush. Food was Delicious , what I don't understand is why they had us waiting 15 minutes due to that we preferred a table rather than a booth when there was plenty of empty tables . I asked the host what the issue was and why they were making us wait. She responded that it was because they were changing shifts and I had to wait!

It is a big mall, many stores. You can find a lot of clothes, perfumes, cosmetics... There is a movie theater, book stores, mobile and accessories, and a bank.
Izthak Zadwing — Google review
There's not very many stores left in the mall. Main Event is always fun and isn't too bad on pricing. Other than that, isn't much to do unless there's a sale. Seems like they spent so much upgrading the food court that they had to raise the rent and vendors ending up leaving.

I brought my daughter to the indoor kids play ground … the area is very dirty like it hasn’t been vacuumed in months. I dont believe it’s even sanitized or wiped off . I’m not sure if their is air conditioning in this area because it is so so hot. I normally don’t post reviews but I’m doing it so something can be done about it.. it sad that the area for children is the least important section in the mall . I would put zero stars if I could

My experience at the shopping mall was largely positive. The diverse range of stores catered to various preferences, offering a mix of high-end brands and affordable options. The spacious layout and well-maintained facilities created a comfortable environment. The dining options were plentiful, providing a satisfying variety of cuisines. While the mall was generally clean, some areas could benefit from more frequent upkeep. The customer service was friendly, but wait times at popular stores were occasionally lengthy. Convenient parking and accessibility added to the overall positive impression. With a few enhancements in cleanliness and service efficiency, this shopping mall has the potential to be an even more appealing destination for a diverse range of shoppers.

The mall is cool other than how dirty and sticky it can be. However, it’s the customers that make it that way, i’ve seen custodians do their work and make sure the place is clean. I would say Mal Del Norte is more for teens and young adults because most stores seem to cater to that audience more.

I've been here a couple times now. It's very nice and pretty chill.
Lotttss of store and food options! SO much variety!

Mall was nice. I bought a Stromboli at Sbarro's which is my FAVORITE pizza place. I bought cheesecake that was sooo delicious from a tiny vendor in the food court🍰😋
Marta Benitez — Google review
For a border town the mall should have way better attractions. The stores are dull. The music playing at the mall is outdated and they play the same songs over and over again. There's very few things to say "Hey let's go to the mall." Overall very boring.
Update 12-27-2020
The mall just keeps going downhill. The maintenance is nonexistent, whoever is in charge shows they don't care about how it looks. It gives Laredo a bad name to its already bad environment. The mall being dirty just shows how much of a risk this place is to catch covid, its sad to see how companies risk their employees lives.

Swimming & floating on the Frio River, plus hiking, & nightly dancing in summertime.
This place is beautiful. It’s very busy so make your reservations in advance. It’s also pretty remote so if you forget anything you might have to drive pretty far. There is a store at the park but a case of water is $8 (keep that in mind!). Gas station down the road, but they don’t have much there. We hiked the crystal cave trail, which was challenging but worth it.

One of the clearest kid friendly (wading) rivers in America that doesn’t require hiking, repelling or 4x4 to access. although it’s spring fed, if the temp is above 100 for awhile, the water will be comfortable but won’t cool
you off.
Please respect this volatile ecosystem and pickup all your trash and wear eco friendly sunscreen (it’s like $1 more).

First camping trip two years ago in my new camper van was to Garner State Park. It did not disappoint! It was oh so beautiful and peaceful.
The park is massive so it was nice having my bike to ride around and explore the campgrounds. Also rode it on the trails … some smooth dirt paths and some pretty rocky ones that …..let’s say challenged me. 😂 I couldn’t pass up doing a little floating in the Frio which winds through the 1,774 acres of scenic Hill Country Park. It was a wonderful adventure.

One of my favorite Texas state parks. I have been visiting here since I was a kid. The place has amazing natural beauty throughout the park. Great place to enjoy nature, relax, swim, hike, and camp. Everything is very well maintained and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Place can fill up during holidays so plan and reserve in advance. Wildlife can be found throughout the park, I spotted, deer, turkeys, rabbits, and at night coyotes can be heard howling in the distance. Over the many visits here this place has become a place of wonderful memories and this current trip did not disappoint. Highly recommended for sure.

Beautiful state park. Very challenging trails at Crystal Cave and Old Baldy — but totally worth it with the chilly Frio waiting for you after! Remember to respect the wildlife; we saw a good noodle (snake) swimming by in the river. We minded our own business (playing mermaids in the water) and it minded its business (swimming down the way). And, leave no trace! Keep our parks beautiful.

Garner Park's fall foliage is absolutely stunning. The ancient bald cypress trees along the waterway create a pristine environment. Words can't describe the beauty of this place. Let the pictures do the talking.
Best to buy tickets in advance as it gets crowded even on weekdays.

You can definitely see why its one of the top rated parks in the state! Such a phenomenal park with oh so much to do! During our recent visit this past weekend the foliage was gorgeous! I even said it was something out of a movie or painting! Quite pretty this time of year! Definitely bring ways to stay warm if you do make it out this time of year! We loved how few people there were throughout the park and were able to enjoy quite a bit of alone time almost everywhere we hiked. Mount Baldy and Crystal Caves are definitely musts if you go!

Beautiful park! The hills surrounding the area were a gorgeous backdrop. The river was low but deep enough to swim by the dam. Tons of campsites with flush toilets and showers with hot water. We stayed in Persimmon hill camp area and there were plenty of trees in the sites. The trails are great, some elevation gains and challenging areas. The hike up Baldy for the view is absolutely worth it! The caves were cool too just not my thing. We saw deer, lizards and tons of bunnies. The park has a crazy amount of amenities, mini golf, several gift shops, a camp store that sells literally everything you could need. You can show up without food, water, shelter, clothing and buy it all at the camp store. Store is open till 10pm. They even have an ice cream parlor and a food truck. Great place to bring the family with a lot of things to do!

This place is a must visit here in Texas. The water is usual very cool. But today the Texas sun made very nice. The cypress trees are majestic and offer plenty of shade. Get here early and get a table with a BBQ pit and make something quick.
We've been coming here over 40 years and always have a great time.

The most beautiful state park I have come across in the state of TX so far. We went to see fall colors and were surprised by the vivid colors of the trees here. We did a hike here and enjoyed the view. It wasn’t crowded at all. You can check the color of the trees before you visit on their website.
There are lakes here that you can kayak in and a lot of hikes around. There are so many places here for taking pictures. Enjoy the fall colors in TX.

Absolutely gorgeous in the fall! Went to see the colors of the season and was not disappointed. The river is beautiful. The grounds are well kept and the park staff is super friendly. Did the Crystal Cave and Bridges hike. Physically challenging but stunning scenery. Well worth the drive.

Challenging trails were awesome! Lacked true Primitive Campsites which was a bummer. Off-season probably better if you're looking for peace a quiet as it's a huge park with a lot of recreational activities if you want to keep the kiddos occupied. Gorgeous overlooks from high vantage points if you're able to climb!

I camped here during a cold spell, but had a great time hiking and learning about the park. Educational signs are posted in both English and Spanish. Challenging hiking trails, some were too difficult for my little dog, but beautiful. Facilities clean, campsites level, welcome center and shops seemed to have reduced winter hours, but were open.

The amenities at this park are excellent! There is a store that has everything you may have forgotten. They also have a gift shop, candy store, and mini golf. Lots to do here as well from hiking to swimming to star gazing to bird watching. It is absolutely beautiful! Lots of parking. The bathrooms had soap! Definitely a favorite of ours!!

We really enjoyed going to this park. It was very busy so go early. The morning passes had already sold out. We enjoyed taking some of the trails while we were there. We hiked to Crystal Cave. We also hiked along the river line. It was so pretty. The kids waded in the water. We all really enjoyed ourselves. It is a very beautiful place to see the river and enjoy a day with nature. I highly suggest bringing the kids, bathing suits, and water shoes. They will LOVE it.

Best park ever! We rented paddle boats for $15 an hour, it was amazing. Everyone was super family friendly.
There's a cute candy shop, gift shop and clean bathrooms near by
I loved that this park didn't allow alcohol because the vibe was good and felt safe with my 3 young children.
There's quite a few rope swings the kids loved playing on!
We can't wait to go back!

Gorgeous state park, views are beautiful and the little shopping areas are a great way to tourist shop. I was disappointed in how some of the areas there were trash. Some need to be considerate and should pick up after themselves. Trails are beautiful and make sure to bring plenty of water.

Garner is a place we frequent OFTEN. The various swimming holes on the Frio River are more than enough to keep us coming back. But playgrounds, we'll kept bathrooms and showers, public facilities and camp store are all fantastically convenient. Not to mention the hiking trails are fun and challenging. All in all a great weekend trip from Houston. Also a fantastic half way point to stay on the way to Big Bend if you don't want to make the whole drive in a day.

Loved shelter #38 on the edge of the Frio with a path on the hillside leading to it. Despite it being so cold,it was lovely to hear the water and in the morning rise to walk along it; we saw an elk doing its walk as well. The gift shops and employees are friendly, and the park is maintained nicely...thankful. *Any trash at night be sure to bring your own trash bags, the raccoons will definitely find what you leave out..as I heard at 3am the rattling of our cans hanging in a bag off our chairs around the fire.

Great park for trail walking and climbing. Different natural environments can be seen in different trails. Some are wet land trails, some are more desert trails, and some are more rocky mountain trails. The must go trail that I recommend is the crystal cave trail. The view is just stunning when you take photos from inside out of the cave.

Excellent day excursion from San Antonio. The car ride is under two hours. Once there, we hiked for approximately 3 hours and ended the day with a picnic. Hiking was not strenuous. Pretty much any person in reasonable shape can do it. The beginning part of it is a bit more uphill, but doable.

Here in February so the park is very quiet with only a few visitors. Most of the amenities are closed due to the season but that's okay with me. Hikes are generally short but some can be steep and Rocky (don't hike in flip flops!) Frio river was pretty and clear

If you don't know then you don't know! This place has been awesome for a long time. The park is great but I would rather stay elsewhere as the camping spots are very close and it's not a camping per say experience so as long as you know that going in you are good. The hiking and water is amazing and the nightly dances are what make this an awesome place!

This was a great state park, was pretty slow mid week in the winter. Some great trails to hike here like Mt Baldy and Crystal cave, mostly dog friendly as well. You can explore a lot of the park in just one day, a lot of the trails are on the shorter side and the day use area is beautiful would like to swim there when it’s warmer. There were a lot of options for camping in the park as well.

Came here to camp with the family. We checked in with no problem. The campsites are well maintained. We stayed at the live oak site. They have electricity and water hook ups. You can drink the water but it tastes nasty so consider bringing a filter of you don't bring water. The campsite also had a picnic table and grill/firepit combo. The hikes nearby are short and the paths are well maintained and well marked. The swimming was great and was the highlight for my family. There is a small play ground there also. The store on site has a lot of things in case you forgot anything. We will be back for sure, we enjoyed our time.

Gardner State Park is a nature lover’s paradise. The cave exploration is an exciting highlight, complemented by the stunningly clear blue water that beckons for a refreshing dip. Diverse hiking trails cater to various skill levels, offering picturesque views throughout. The park’s accommodation options are impressive, from camper sites with electricity hook-ups to cabins equipped with AC, and general tent-friendly parking with accessible electricity. Clean and well-maintained restrooms make the camping experience even more enjoyable. Gardner State Park truly feels like a piece of heaven on earth – a must-visit destination, highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and camping aficionados alike.

I camped in a tent and had electricity and water at the site. Very clean park. I highly recommend it! This was a very pretty place and had extremely clear water. I will say the frio river is a bit chilly, but in the Texas heat during the summer, you don't mind it!
We both swam in the deeper parts of the river and then floated in a rented inner tube.

It's a great place for family. A ton of activities you can enjoy with your kids or alone yourself. Pet friendly (plus more 5*).
There is a mountain & a river, it's like an "all you can eat" restaurant. Hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, swinging, floating, throwing stick for your dog, and they will swimming for bringing it back, etc..
Or you can just put your chair in the water and read your books with your beverages, under the sun...
I love this place.
This is a must-do experience if you are visiting this beautiful part of Texas. Seeing 10-12 million bats take over the evening sky and darting out of a cave right above your head is exhilarating. Bain, the “Batman,” does a great job telling the story of the bats and answers just about any question anyone has about them. Tons of fun!

OMG!!!! This was fantastic!!!!! There were MILLIONS of furry, cute, bug eating bats leaving their cave!!!! They were pouring out for over an hour when we left. Well worth the price to experience their nightly flight.

We really enjoyed the guide sharing his knowledge of the bats. I do wish I had carried my chair up to the cave the rocks were not real comfortable.
I have never seen anything like it before the bats just kept coming out ,we finally left at dark.

Best $12.50 spent! What an incredible value for the experience. We went the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
When you arrive at the location you will park on either side of the gate off the road and wait for the people to come open the gate. In our case this was 7:27 PM. There is nothing to do but wait in your car so be aware of that. Once you get through the gate it is kind of a long, slow drive back to the parking area. The walk up to the cave is not that bad even if you have a 30 pound baby strapped to your back like I did.
As you wait for the bats to come out of the cave there is a very interesting information session. There’s 10-12 million bats that come out over a 3 hour period. They fly low and you can see the columns for miles as they depart on their journeys of 500-600 miles. There are two hawks that feed on the bats as they exit the cave and put on a fantastic aerial feeding show for you!
You can leave whenever you wish (the tour officially ends at dusk) and there are shirts and hats for sale as you leave.
Overall a great experience I would highly recommend for the value. You won’t be disappointed.

You have to wait outside the gate (the earlier you get there, the longer the wait), you line up along the road in your car. They show up a little after 7 and you drive down a long gravel road to the spot. Sign waiver and climb a little steep hill to listen about the history of the bats and cave (very interesting) until the bats start appearing. He can answer any questions you have about them.

We had so much fun watching the bat flight! Fair price, great experience. Felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted to watch the bats. We were able to ask as many questions as we wanted and we learned so much. Super kid friendly!

This was one of the most amazing experiences ever! We arrived to see the bars emerging and stayed a while to see the second flight. It’s important to arrive on time and wait outside the gate for the guide. The bat experience is on private owned property and it’s a long way from the gate/entrance. It’s not exactly a tour, but rather an experience. The guide is knowledgeable and once you arrive at the cave entrance (up a slightly steep incline) you wait for the bats to emerge-and boy do they!! Well worth it!

Visited June 11th, 2016. This was amazing! You don't go inside the cave, you watch the bats fly out for their evening meal. It was really cool and beautiful. Be prepared to be in an isolated desert after dark. But it is worth the drive and late night. It's an unforgettable experience.

We loved hearing all the fun facts and cool information about the bats and cave. It was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend this trip. We were there in mid March and even though there were only thousands of bats not millions our guide said the only difference was the duration of the bats coming out.

First time at choke canyon State Park.I love it. If you love being close to nature this is the place. Men.....this lake is full of catfish. We was here for Labor Day Weekend 2022! It wad awesome. The cabin was nice. However we rented the only cabin that was handicapped accessible. All cabins ahould be handicapped accessible! We enjoyed fishing, and caught 5 catfish and 1 bass! The wildlife was awesome. There was Coyote and Road runner, Wild Turkey, Hogs, various birds including a Mexican Eagle. Alligators too (which I love!)
This was a very peaceful park. We will be back. The bathrooms need to be updated and something done about the mold and mildew in the showers.

We've never seen such abundant wildlife in one park. The sites were nice, bike riding, kayaking, bird blind, nature trails and wonderful staff. Our only sadness was the sand spurs - we've never had them this bad. Our dog had to wear boots just to step outside and I'm still picking them out of everything 2 weeks later.

At first glance, there doesn't seem like a lot to do at Choke Canyon State Park outside of camping, but look for a place called 75 acre lake. First of all, it's a bird sanctuary that makes it good in the day, but most importantly, it has a tremendous western view that makes it fantastic for sunsets. This place is magical on the right evening. (see photos)
I'm sure there is a lot more there that I missed since I had limited time, but I can't see it being better than 75 acre lake.

Great place to camp and view the wildlife. The facilities are well kept, only complaint was the level of the reservoir. That is not controllable mind you, overall we had a great time in the Texas heat.

There was more wildlife here than I've seen in any other Texas state park. Some of the bugs and even some plants seem unique to this place. Even though there's other state parks only a couple hours away. However, they could use some more trails. And they definitely need some kind of covered areas by the swim area. Very large. Gator approached us in the swim area. Overall very unique but generally lacking in activities compared to some of the other parks.

We stayed at this campground for three days and loved it! The sites were spacious. There is an abundance of wildlife and the park ranger we met was young and very enthusiastic. She showed us a Great Horned Owl nest and spent time with us at the Nature Center. We took hikes and saw Javelinas (so cute!), turkeys, deer, leaf cutter ants, and a lot of birds. The campground has a bird sanctuary where you can watch a lot of different species. The park has a good number of cabins. The park is gated and you will need a code to get in after 10pm. Tip: The area does not have good cell phone coverage. (Mar 2024)

The map for tent sites looks nothing like the actual site and for sure is not the pictures on the official site. The tents don't get that close to the water and where you should only have 2 tents per site (12 max for the site) there where 18 tents before we even thought about adding our own. After a walk to where you can swim it is over grown with cattails and other vegetation. You can't get in, let alone swim. Not to mention just on the other side of where you swim is the fish cleaning station and yes there are alligators. The bathrooms where infested with hornets. It was horrible! When asking for a refund (even though signs are posted with recent dates stating that you just need your recite) the staff acted like they had no clue how to refund our ticket. Until we started taking pictures of their posted signs with recent dates! Just avoid this headache.

The park is gorgeous!!! The wildlife and birdlife in the park are the best that we’ve seen so far. The evening we reached, we saw a couple of wild boar near our campsite. Next morning, we were greeted by the sight of a full family of wild boar, with cubs and all. Armadillos, bald eagles, white tailed deer, and tons of birds on the lake. The state park staff are helpful, they were prompt in communicating about a water issue, by personally going to each campsite. We had to cut our trip short due to the water issue, but would love to come back again

Such a serene, beautiful experience! Pet friendly park with pet friendly trails (be tick prepared just in case but we didn’t come across any). Alligators do exist in this park but we also didn’t see any even while fishing! The javalinas I would be more concerned about if you have pets or small children that are curious. The camping was awesome and we made a bunch of friends! People RV here more than tent camp but it was overall a great experience! The bird sanctuary was a cute plus to the campsite! Also y’all HAVE to try the pulled pork sandwiches from the store made by the sweetest couple ever! They were DELICIOUS! Will definitely be coming more often!

Stayed here with my family of 3 and dogs. We will coming back and soon. Great park, clean and very peaceful feeling. We didn’t use the bathhouse as we stayed in our travel trailer but everything else was perfect. RV sites are mostly leveled in a pull through paved and concrete pad but is mostly dirt. Must of them have a picnic table in concrete slab and with aluminum shelter so you don’t have the sun on top of you while eating outside. We stayed in site 27, has shadows and no neighbors in the back. Be aware that you are camping in nature, a lot of ants around I recommend to wear closed shoes. Really amazing park.

From the map it looks like you can access water from you shelter but there was no path really. We had to go to the day use area to access the water. Had electric line for phone chargers. No fan. There was water line. It was really hot inside during the day though. A portable fan would be good. If you stay near water and do water activities then you should be fine. There are other camping areas too. They might be better. We did some fishing too. Kayaking and tubing was fun! I recommend going to this place for a fun vacation or maybe a day trip. They have bath houses too. It was pretty clean.

Great state park. The lake is very low but still beautiful. All camp sites are asphalt with concrete pads. Van's burger and soda bar is a great place to grab a bite and a cocktail or beer. Not much siteseeing nearby, but very enjoyable place to escape the busy city life. I did find a school house built in 1925 on one of my outings. They only have 2 short trails to walk, but walking the roads around the park was a nice way to pass the day. They have cabins you can rent or tent and rv sites.

Not bad place. The lake has grass at the edges so some of us did not like that but I understand this would not be a problem to some people. We heard gunshots at night from two different directions. There was also a very loud boats revving their engines so that was not pleasant. The staff was extremely helpful and we had regular patrols driving by. We had a lot of fire ants and stickers in our site. That made it a little harder to enjoy ourselves but we managed. We reported the ants so hopefully they do some maintenance. The showers and toilets in our section were very clean and functional.

Great place to enjoy the water and camp. Swimming area multiple boat launches and two fishing docks. Bird viewing area was a short bike ride or drive and short walk with well maintained bird blind viewing area.

Rain or shine, it's a great place to spend some downtime with the entire family. The park rangers do a great job at keeping the grounds and restrooms clean. They even had a presentation on how to properly use and care for cast-iron dutch ovens.

Lake Corpus Christi is a great place to enjoy the nature and birdwatching. The entry fee was 5 USD/person for a day trip. However, there are options for camping, fishing etc. They have couple of fishing piers, good restrooms and plenty of parking spots. The nesting area and the old historical landmark along with the overlook is also pretty cool.

Wow! We camped here for 11 nights and loved every moment. Deers everywhere. Incredibly peaceful. It’s Heaven on earth here! Big rig friendly but the turn into the spots is a bit tricky. Totally worth it for a state park.

I go every Easter with my family, we go on a trail where we can see birds and much more animals. They have a lake you can swim in and even fish, the park is perfect for camping with your family and even cooking for a meal together.

What a treasure our Texas State Parks are! Lake Corpus Christi State Park, in particular. The park has so many amenities and activities to enjoy. The lake is beautiful and is full of fish! Many camping options are available, including tent, RV with water, and electric and sewer hookups available. Also primitive structures to camp in at a reasonable price. I really enjoyed exploring the "Castle" and kayaking the lake.

State maintained park area that requires a fee to enter but well worth the charge. Nice fishing docks and family camping areas. Lots of room to walk around with the accessible shore areas of the lake.

Our visit to the Lake Corpus Christi State Park was pleasant. The grounds of the park were maintained well. The pad for the space was a level concrete and paved pad. The park has a very nice floating fishing pier and fish cleaning station. The lake water levels are low, as with many lakes, but there were boaters and people fishing in the lake. The boat ramp near the RV spaces is closed as a result of the water level but there was an open boat ramp near the day use area. The restroom facilities were below par compared to other state parks we have visited. The park was in the process of building new facilities but have run into issues with the company performing the work, delaying the build. We were there on Easter weekend, so the park was busy. There were issues with loud music coming from one of the nearby spots late at night but they were promptly addressed by park staff. They were far away enough from us that we were not bothered but I would not have wanted to be camping next to them. When the restroom issue is addressed I would give the park a five star rating.
