Pub
Easygoing establishment with outdoor seating offering global pub fare & karaoke nights.
Best place in the Hawkesbury for a "pub lunch". On weekdays they have a range of meals for $10. I think there are 10 including the ubiquitous chicken schnittie but topping out with a hot rock steak. So much fun and ensures your steak is cooked how you like. $10 for this, including salad and chips, and a side sauce is just a bargain.
Service is quick with meals generally ready in under 10 minutes. Often much less.
Good range of beers on tap and at a reasonable cost.
Views out the front over the RAAF base.
Nice pub with friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Fantastic night with Thunderstruck ACDC Tribute band concert. Even the rain didn't stop the dancing. Many chose to dance in the rain even though there's a sail covering most of the beer garden. There was no trouble and a thoroughly fun and friendly audience.

Great staff, with fabulous food and drinks. Skilled bartenders and high quality, well prepared meals.
The meals are large, with nicely sized sides to go with them. Plenty large enough sauces to pair with your steak. Meals are well cooked, and although i didn't choose the hot rock option, my steak was cooked very nicely.
Bartenders are fun and cheery, so are the other staff. The drinks are well prepared and look and taste great.
Pool can get quite competitive, so I'd brush up on your skills before visiting.
I expect to spend a lot more time here as I've recently moved nearby, and had a very pleasant experience at this pub.

I enjoy this place every time I visit.
Live bands are incredible, pool tables are a must, the kids area - omgoodness its my favourite. I always play I the kids section without fail when I'm here.
Such a great vibe here and such happy and wonderful personalities.
Everyone including customers are delightful to be around.

So sad to write this review. Have been to Tavern a lot of times for lunch special. Always been happy but today was just awful. Waited over 40 minutes for meals. Went to th3 counter to find out how much longer, was told 2 minutes which it was. However, my simple hamburger bun was so hard, I could not even get my mouth around it! Was hard as a rock. Chips were burnt and disgusting. My husbands chicken was okay but chips inedible. Got my money back and the lady did offer a new meal but didn't have time to sit around and waste more time as the wait was ridiculous already. So disappointed 😞

The restaurant staff were friendly. However, the dinner I had was below average. 200g steak was ordered medium well but was very thin and rubbery. The Dianne sauce was the worst I have ever had and the dressing on the salad was not nice either. I had a much better meal at Hogs Breath the week before for about the same price. My husband enjoyed his seafood platter. The band that night was Coverpalooza and they were awesome. The staff also need to check the bathroom facilities during the night. The floor and wash basin areas were wet causing a possible slip hazard

Great clean premises. Great lunchtime menu offered for $12 from 12- 2 pm. Certainly go back to try other meals on all menu's.

Great place finally stoped by, nice food and great lunch value around this area, especially the rump steak on the hot rock! Beer is cheap n good for the black beer… beef sausage lunch is great 👍 calamari has flavor but not smelly. A lot events all the week! But the menu isn’t update, the kids meal doesn’t have tokens anymore, only with ice cream.

Very good range of meals, They are cheap with the Monday to Saturday $12 specials and very large for the price. Steak, chips , salad and sauce for $12, you cant beat that!
Good range of drinks with some craft beers on offer.
Free courtesy bus available, right next to the train station. Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. Kids play area, live music and pool comp available.
It has everything you could want in a pub. You can even see the RAAF planes taking off and landing.

affordable lunch and nice seating area.
Updating my review because the schnitzel used to be so good but pretty sure they’ve changed supplier..(?) the portion and quality is definitely shrinking. Would rather pay a little bit extra for the same quality than getting what they currently have

Excellent lunch specials Monday to Friday including Hot Rock Steak which you can cook to your own preference. Good food, great price. Plenty of parking. Usually very busy for lunch weekdays. Can be hot outside if no seating available inside. Can also be noisy with music playing through speakers outside making conversation more difficult when crowed. Will visit again!

We were lucky to be there when the cover band for ACDC was playing. They were one of the best cover bands I've ever listened to. Phenomenal!!

Best Pub in Sydney for the food and service. Management is young and keen, not "woke" , really care about their customers, hot rock steak is a bargain priced delicacy, chips are great, salad I don't usually eat but I eat theirs, a definite 5 stars.

We had such a fantastic time at Richmond Regent this weekend. LOVE that there is a cry room so that I can take my young children to see a movie with my newborn. It was clean and a great experience. Will definitely be going to the movies more often!!

Love this place so much. They have two cinemas. They have amazingly affordable prices. I never spend over $60, which is with tickets, food, and drinks. Now you wouldn't get that at Hoyts now, would you?
For a family of 5, that is amazing. You seriously can't go wrong here. They workers are lovely also. Love it so much!!!!

Great cinema that has retained its 'old school' charm. They have added so many great menu items, so it's definitely a great place to come and enjoy a movie. Their prices are also VERY reasonable and affordable.

First time I've been here in years and it was great! The seats were comfortable, staff were lovely, candy bar well priced and not too far a drive from home. Definitely will be coming back, especially when the tickets are only $12!
Hannah Porter — Google review
Friendly ushers, foyer carpet and lounges a bit outdated and not in a cool "federation' way. I did like that there was a 'cry' room attached to our cinema (floor level) and would consider going again with my younger children and making use of this option. A good carpet clean (smells a bit musty), furniture update and an external paint job would make this place come back to life and revive patronage too.

Took my 2 & 4 yo to see their first movie at a cinema. It was a fantastic experience in the beautiful historic building. Staff were lovely and super understanding when we made a mess of our popcorn.

I have so many fond memories of attending this theatre as a child. Im glad my children can now experience the new and rejuvenated version. My kids got the $22 Wonka deal, which included an extremely large popcorn, drink and ice cream with the ticket. To top it off my daughter found a golden ticket 🎫 (voucher) in her popcorn. She was buzzing. Thanks, we will be back soon

My son and husband went to a movie tonight and couldn't fault the service. I booked for them online in case it booked out. Reasonably priced, well looked after for a local historic gem.
I love seeing the new events and live shows coming up - looking forward to a night out soon at one of them.
The Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum, located in Faulconbridge, offers a charming experience for art and culture enthusiasts. The estate, once occupied by the controversial Australian artist and author Norman Lindsay, now showcases his extensive contribution to literature and the arts. Visitors can explore the lovely sandstone cottage adorned with Lindsay's watercolors, oil paintings, etchings, ceramics, and miniature ships.
Excellent tour guide and gardens. Great coffee house be sure to book ahead a table on weekends.

I had such a great time when I visited the Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum. I came on Friday and I was really impressed with what I saw. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I was really impressed with the tour of the painting studio, and the etching studio. The tour guide gave such a great talk about the history of the Museum, and the studios. I especially loved walking down to the swimming pool area. I would highly recommend visiting the Norman Lindsay Museum you will have such a great time.

A most interesting place to visit and learn more about this iconic Australian artist. The included tour of the house and his studio together with the Etching Room was most informative and well presented .
The house contains a number big his works including paintings, sculptures and some wonderful model ships that he built by hand as a hobby.

Beautiful Gardens with and interesting story. Fantastic way to see an artists work, in the family home. Great variety and extensive knowledge from the tour hosts and other volunteers. Some areas require a host to access as they are in separate buildings, the area is not particularly friendly to people with mobility issues and the cafe was shut at the time of our visit (looking for new people to lease/run). Other than these minor things it as as expected, great art in a beautiful location.

Interesting gallery. The man did like his nudes ☺️. I thought there were more statues unless we missed a lot. The grounds are lovely, skip the cafe.

Loved the gallery & grounds.
The cafe 's ambience was nice . However cafe was too pricey , had tea & scones the teapot contained hot water as staff had not put tea in it! When told of this they brought pot back & still was flavourless, sad to say a teabag would have been better! Was charged over $30 for 2 teas x 2scones by 2 people.
Would not recommend the cafe .

The Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum is a remarkable treasure trove of Australian art, history and culture. The gallery showcases an impressive collection of Lindsay's work which is truly awe-inspiring. The museum itself is beautifully maintained, providing a fantastic insight into Lindsay's life and work.
The café is an absolute delight! Tucked away in this cultural haven, it offers a great selection of snacks and beverages. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or a quick coffee break while exploring the gallery. The ambience is serene and cozy - just what you need after soaking in the rich art and history.
Whether you're an art enthusiast or a casual visitor, Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum is a must-visit. Don't forget to stop by the café for a delicious treat!

Lovely house adorned with a selection of Lindsay’s watercolours (my favourites), oil paintings, etchings, ceramics and miniature ships. You can’t take photos inside. The tour is very informative and made me realise what an amazingly creative individual Lindsay was, who turned his hand to all sorts of arts and crafts, including some of the furniture inside the etching studio. Add the sculptures created in the sprawling garden and you begin to understand why the guide referred to him as a polymath. Perhaps the real revelation for me was the role played by his second wife, Rose. She understood the value of his work and applied entrepreneurial spirit which he implicitly trusted. And she became a master craftsman at etching, converting Lindsay’s plates into paper art form. The museum should however more readily advertise the times of these guided tours so that visits can coincide with the tours as they literally add a lot more colour to the life and art of the Lindsays. Also, if you have young children, there is a small section dedicated to the Magic Pudding but it is not a focus of the exhibition.

This is a lovely historical house set in the beautiful natural landscape of the Australian bush. If you know and love Norman Lindsay (or even if you don't) , you will love this representations of his life through his art. The juxtaposition between his 'sirens' work and his Magic Pudding work is well curated. If can, get the guided tour. They have them at 11:30am and 1:30pm. We were walked through the gallery, the artist's studio and the etching gallery. The storytelling from the guide was definitely a highlight. The stories about Lindsay's life were great and really brought his artwork to life. The cafe is also worth stopping at too. Good coffee and nice staff.

The Corridor of Oaks park is dedicated to former prime ministers of Australia. The park has some great new sandstone landscaping with lots of new seating and an upgraded walkway but is still awaiting oak tree memorials for ex prime ministers Tony Abbott,Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison,
However the oak trees appearance suggests they are struggling to survive.which is a shame because it detracts from what should be a deserved and respectful memorial.

It's very interesting seeing all the plaques of past Prime Ministers. It's also funny seeing where they are placed- not always in chronological order- some have their tree planted far away from their political opponent!

Nice day out for fruit picking. Plenty of tasty varieties of apple to pick up. The experience was great. The lady serving us gave lots of information how they grow apples for harvest.
The store was good with heaps of pies including apple pies, jams and chocolates.
It is a great place to take the kids to show how fruits grow to value it.

Freshest baked goods I've had in a long time! They serve a range of freshly baked fruit pies, hot pies and cakes/slices.
We had a hot apple pie with ice cream, apple crumble with cream, chicken and mushroom pie and beef and mushroom pie. 100% would have the apple crumble the next time I pass through Bilpin.
There are a range of seasonal fruits for sale, with cherries, apples and watermelon when I went in January.
They also sell a range of local souvenirs including Bilpin Apple Cider, Bilpin Apple Juice and honey.

I am giving three stars because I was made fun of by one of your staff members, a rotund teenage boy riding around on a quad bike making rude comments about people as they walk by to the boy with the mullet who was supposed to be giving people directions at the entry of the picking shed. Being a chubster himself, he really shouldn’t be commenting on the size or appearance of others.
We pre booked. My husband was sick (he need’s dialysis daily so his feeling of wellness varies daily. He couldn’t attend and we couldn’t get a refund.
No toilets or hand washing facilities near the orchards or picking sheds, which was real fun after rummaging through soil for the potatoes 🙄.
Overall, the apples, strawberries, cucumbers, figs, capsicums and potatoes were great but not worth the $20 entry. $10 would be more appropriate. It’s definitely not the place I remember from my childhood years.
Alex C — Google review
The first to attract is the welcoming manner of the nice ladies who work at the store.
Try their home-made jams and local raw honey. They are reasonable and fresh.
However, the vegetables and fruits were not as expected. Personally, I expected to see more organic and fresh herbs., but it felt like I was shopping for fruit at a normal urban groceries store.
They also bake freshly but I did not have the chance to try it.
A lot of parking space. 🚗

Not many apples good to pick at all this season but they are charging an entry fee still. Alot of apples on trees were either rotten or bad! The best apples you could pick had black spots, but taste not what i expected and sour! It's not worth to going there this year!
PS: There were no signs out front at all to say there was an entry fee and even they charged for the little kids.

Genuinely horrific experience.
We went at about noon to the advertised strawberry picking. The ladies in the shop told us where to go so we walked down to the back, past the signs and open gates pointing us along, and queued up, only to be brusquely informed that we were too late (it turns out some of the people in the queue were purchasing their pickings while others were also being turned away). We understood so we thanked them and walked out to a lady reprimanding us for not coming earlier.
Now at this point I brushed it off as them feeling harried while having a busy day (seeing as they were done before 12:30, it must have been a hectic morning). However my children (four and two) didn’t understand. The older was particularly distraught so he tearily asked if he could go to the strawberry greenhouse (maybe 20m away from the entry) and just take a look at the real life strawberry farm. I relayed this question to the ladies and was aggressively turned down; I was quite rudely informed that we were absolutely not permitted to go near it and the ladies then exchanged obvious looks of disbelief and disgust, muttering under their breath. They then made sure to watch us to make sure we didn’t go near it.
Now at this point both my children were teary and I had to console them with promises of trying another time and asked if they would like to try the play equipment we’d walked past. The play equipment is dirty, in varying states of disrepair, clearly unmaintained and some was downright dangerous. I reluctantly let them play but quickly moved them into the shop when the younger one almost scratched himself on a rusty part.
The apple pie was the proverbial cherry on top. The pastry was lacking - tasteless, low butter content, thin - and the filling was also bland - watery and not much of an apple aroma. The chicken pie was average but also didn’t seem to be made in store (and also wasn’t the one we ordered).
Overall, horrendous. Don’t waste your time here; there are much better places to explore in the area, with better pies, prettier grounds (that are actually cared for), more fun equipment, more enjoyable experiences and - best of all - kinder people.

Nice place and beatiful scenery. All the staff are so freindly. You can pick apple and eat them while picking. Entrance fee is 5AUD per head. You need to pay for the apples you pick though for 5AUD per kilo.
Eymard Banigued — Google review
The place needed some love as it looked dated, and the kids' rides were not particularly safe for modern standards. But nevertheless, the kids had a good time picking their own fruits, which was the main reason for their road trip. The staff at the shop were friendly enough with a big queue they had.
Michael Hui — Google review
This review is associated with a terrible fruit fruit picking experience only and not the shop which we chose to not visit as we had wasted enough money already.
Fruit picking is a fantastic activity for small children and adults alike. Sadly, this is the worst experience I have ever had in an establishment of this kind. Not only was there no fruit to pick (especially the strawberries, of which small, rotten fruit only remained) but the cost of entry (which supposedly included as much fruit as you could eat… Can you see the challenge here?) was especially high when you are paying to enter what can only be described as a junkyard with a few grow houses.
I was genuinely concerned for the safety of my children as all around us were discarded old engine bits, shards of metal and glass and remains of old construction projects rusting away, just waiting for a victim. I’m surprised this place is allowed to operate and allow access to the general public .
Avoid, not just to protect your pocket but also your safety.

We also had a fantastic time at Bilpin Fruit Bowl. You have to pay $20 entry and the fruit selection is HUGE! It’s such a great experience walking around the trees, inspecting the fruit and picking some peaches, apricots, strawberries and zucchini!
Very well priced. Lots of parking.

I try refrain from negative reviews on businesses however our experience was incredibly disappointing. I wouldn't recommend a business that charges entry fees without providing the promised fruit-picking experience. There were no fruit to pick and if any, they were just rotten or either too small. We paid $20 per adult and $10 per child to enter, leaving empty-handed. Our daughter's birthday was completely spoiled, and we deeply regret choosing this venue.

We stopped by to get some fresh apples and ended up getting a freshly baked apple pie to go and some of the best coffee I've had. The coffee was not burnt, perfect temperature, and just lovely. We took the pie home to share. It was just so delicious. Will definitely be back on the weekend for more yummy goodness. Definitely worth the hour drive🙂

It's a good experience. Kids had a good time, recommend for family. Be aware that this experience involves walking and may not be suitable for everyone. The presence of harmless insects is part of the natural environment.
Akhil Thomas — Google review
The staff in the cafe were wonderful and lovely. They did a great job in moving the crowds, very friendly, helpful when serving everyone. Meat and apple pies were not great sadly.
Unfortunately I have to leave some negative feedback this time for the pick your own orchard, i often don’t unless it’s terribly bad. We took our parents and little girls for an apple and strawberry picking experience which was utterly disappointing, words cannot express how bad it was. We arrived around 1pm and paid $20 each, there were no strawberries left to pick and apples were mostly spoilt or pest infested.
I think the business can be a little more honest and let customers know if they’ve ran out of fruit to pick instead of focusing on charging everyone an entry fee.
I can appreciate that it’s a busy Easter long weekend and staff were working hard to make it work but updated information and honesty would’ve helped the customer decide if they want to wonder around in the heat to be disappointed.
We picked and paid for some persimmons which were ok.
All in all a very disappointing experience.
Unfortunately this was our first and last time visiting this orchard.

Upon arrival, we received a happy welcoming from the staff and received a brief tour. We received a picnic basket containing a whole chicken, salad, cheese, and bread rolls. Also received picnic supplies: plates, cutlery, napkins.
The food was plenty, tasty and fresh. Plenty for 2 people. We anticipated this and brought our take away boxes with us.
We ordered 2x cider tasting paddles. We tasted all of the non-alcoholic and a couple of the alcoholic ciders.
After tasting , we made our choices and purchased cases of cider from their store. We received 10% discount on our cider cases at the store.
There is a good walking area where we saw sheep, goat, llama, bees.
Service was very helpful and staff were welcoming and friendly. Let us borrow their equipment to transport the cider cases to our vehicle.

What a fabulous experience this was!! We had a lovely hour on the magnificent terrace overlooking a great garden. Lovely people with great customer service, whilst walking in the garden, encouraged by the owner, my aunt kissed an alpaca, absolutely made her day. These are just genuine people with a passion for making excellent cider. My uncle spilled his coffee and they remade it for free. The cider was also great, the tasting paddle was $20, for 4 small glasses with something for everyone, and even a pink lady cider. The cloudy cider was delicious as was the coffee and apple pie. We bought some cider to take home and the most delicious honey, no big push to buy, just great service. Highly recommend.

We have had a lot of different craft ciders and this is the best ever ! The location is beautiful as are the grounds ! I wish I could tell you which cider to select. We did a tasting and then bought a few of each. From sweet to dry. Alcohol and non alcohol. They were all fragrant and tasty.

Nicely set amongst their fields with a nice bar and food options available. Table seating was available but it wasn't a picnic area and visits would probably last up to 1 hour since you can't go to the actual orchards. Would definitely suggest trying a taster paddle whilst there. They are very generous in filling the cups of ciders to the top.

Nice place to visit and taste a variety of ciders, grab some morning tea, lunch or have a picnic in the grounds. They have both non-alcoholic and alcoholic ciders on offer. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking, disabled parking also available. Top car park fills up quickly in the morning but there is an overflow parking further down the road. You can't leave until you try the apple pie! Delish :)

Didn't sample any food but the ciders were very good .... favourite was the mulled cider ... 👌🏽

Nice Cidar | Great Ambiance
I tried Cidar tasting with my family (Now I feel I should gone for full bottles but maybe next time). The place is great with lots of options to eat. It’s located on the main road. Plenty of non-alcoholic options to suit your palette

Really nice cider. We liked all the ones we tried. We did the standard paddle and bought the bottles of the others.
Good service. Nice garden to sit in and have a drink.
Pie was lovely - on the dearer side at $11 per piece.
Preferred the ciders at this place to Hillbilly, so if you can only do one, I recommend this one. The service at Hillbilly was friendlier though and the big tent and truck were interesting to see.
The garden at Bilpin was lovely to sit in and the kids happily climbed in the trees.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Bilpin Cider 🍺! They serve both Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic cider ranging from dry to sweet (was so delicious). 🤤 The garden view is absolutely stunning and is such a good way to start the day! 🌅 The staff were very friendly and accommodating in helping us choose the cider, they are also so generous in filling the cider to the absolute top! 💕The food menu is very simple, however the fish and chips is definitely a highlight🍟! My favourite cider was definitely the blood orange cider or the raspberry! 🍊

A MUST do when visiting the blue mountains. The walk back out was a bit tough for me but my fitness is pretty bad. Worth the effort though. Would do again.

Tom provided a fantastic experience on this tour. His passion and excitement for the ecology made this such a memorable and fun experience. He has a lot of knowledge of the area, and gave a lot of insightful answers to all the questions we had. The glow worms were beautiful to see, and it was such a surreal and wonderful experience.

Great great great! Worth it every single penny. Tom was super funny, friendly and has vast knowledge about all animals/insects/worms/fish and even about the plants that we’ve seen. The worms are espectacular and beautiful.
Short walk of 15 min, where you might be able to spot a wombat or tiny cute frogs, which was awesome.
I definitely recommend that tour.

My friends and I had a good time! The glow worms looked beautiful last night; especially as we sat in the canopy, surrounded by them. Tom has a wealth of knowledge! He is passionate, personable and was attentive to everyone in the group. Would highly recommend!
Wentworth Falls is a serene town nestled in the heart of the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. It's about 100 kilometers west of Sydney and offers a peaceful escape surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The area is known for its lush bushland, magnificent waterfalls, and numerous hiking trails. Visitors can explore charming cafes, art galleries, and shops while immersing themselves in the tranquility of this picturesque destination.
The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah is the highest botanic garden in the country, showcasing cool-climate plants and offering guided tours and picnic areas. Located within the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains region, this garden provides a serene escape with its diverse flora. The surrounding area boasts quaint villages, waterfalls, walking trails, and numerous lookouts that offer breathtaking views of cliffs and gorges.
I would give this place six stars however some of the parts that are meant to be disability friendly are not sealed properly and are uneven and are a little bit difficult to navigate this is near the rock pool and the bottom but otherwise the rest of the gardens are very easy to navigate especially for those requiring wheelchair access. Plenty of disable parking and accessibility bathrooms. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Wonderful day out.

Been here in the past and had a great hike all the way to the other side of the main road. Visited again today however the weather was not in our favour. Beautiful scenery, small waterfall in between the garden. Flowers blooming. Couldn’t do much due to the rain. Best to visit when skies are clear.

Really nice garden in blue mountains. Unfortunately we can’t see many flowers in winter time. Also the parking space is limited so it is better to go earlier.

Just love the Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens. On a beautiful day, there is nothing like wandering around the area. Although I couldn't get all the way around today as I was pushing my Dad around in the wheelchair. You certainly get a good workout going up/down hills. The best time of year, of course, is Spring, for a visit but it's always lovely.
Free entry, although I would recommend that you give a $5 donation which goes towards the upkeep of the gardens.
Public toilets are available and always clean. There is also a picnic area with chairs and tables.
There is also a cafe onsite as well.

Well maintained garden and place worth visting for nature and plants in vibrant colors. One has to climb down and move around to various sections, stone garden, Jurassic and feast your eyes with the beauty of nature. Unfortunately the food outlet was closed due to holiday. Normally visitors bring their own food and drinks and enjoy a days outing. Must place to visit.

We visited this garden in the month of April and it was looking so beautiful like heaven. I just loved this place. We were able to enjoy beauty of red, yellow and green trees. The look outs are amazing. Cafe closes at 3 pm which we dis not know and missed tasting food here. But definitely visiting again soon to taste that as well.

Beautiful curated gardens with wonderful blue mountains views. They do have season tulips in October. Nice walks with plenty of picnic spaces and bbq area. They have a visitor center which has a cafe with mountain view and a nice mini theatre which shows a movie about places in blue mountain on the click of a button and many useful information about how and when blue mountains became a world heritage. If you are on the way to Bathurst or visiting Bilpin, include this place in your travel plan.

Our weekend at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah was a delightful escape. With our picnic in tow, we immersed ourselves in the garden's tranquil ambiance. I loved this place♥️it is so quite, has natural greenery, small fountains, has picnic spots and of course the beautiful flowers. There were not many flowers at this time but was good. There is one restaurant inside the garden which is okay.
The only thing l didn't like is the gate closes sharp at 5pm. They start announcing 15 min before closing down so you have to run back towards the parking.
Start early in the morning if you want to enjoy the garden and visit on a cloudy day.
RANI KASHYAP — Google review
Many hidden treasures here and glorious views. You can have guided tours and even hire a scooter to get around if you need. There are easy walk ways but if you go off those it's rock steps in some areas. It is a beautiful walk just keep in mind it is all up hill once you get down to the bottom. Unfortunately the only thing missing is a cafe.
Michelle Chamings — Google review
The blue mountains botanic gardens is an awesome little collection of gardens with a backdrop view that would compare to the top 10 in Australia of the illustrious mountain range views.
The native flowers, trees and birds in the area is a spectacular assortment which can be found within the National park and great for learning and understanding.
For taking the kids there’s great picnic areas as well as a small learning centre with a few interactive activities for the kids which is also made interesting for adults.
You are able to book areas for events at the gardens although beware as the costs are quite expensive. The events can include weddings which would be a very memorable experience.
The bathrooms are nice and clean although can get busy.
There is a cafe there but closes early, from then there is a food van which is actually cheap for what you get so it’s not all bad.
Highly recommend a morning visit and then a lunch at bilpin with a cider

One of the smaller Botanical Gardens I've visited but well worth the stop. The rock garden is incredibly well kept with plenty of variety. And the deck for the cafe an ideal spot to look over the venue, complete with resident roaming turkey.

Fabulous garden. That's all there is to say isn't it?
But man this was such a lovely place to visit. There were so many variety of plants here from all over.
The view from the observation deck is breathtaking on a clear day and elevation of the garden makes it quite unique.
There's some picnic areas so bring something to nibble of if you like. But what a great garden.

Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Work your way down the hillside along manicured paths, past waterfalls and Ponds through a botanically organised series of feature gardens. Photographers will enjoy the vistas and the birdlike. See the Gang-gang cockatoos in the nut trees. Finish off with lunch in the Cafe overlooking the gardens and the distant valleys. Great day out.

We stopped by on our drive back to Sydney. It was a nice walk with very lovely views down through the mountains despite being very busy. This is a smaller park than compared to the Royal Botanic Garden in the city, and you get to see a different range of species as well because of the different climate conditions.

Free entry to these large and beautiful botanical gardens. The icon of the gardens seems to be a spiral made of rocks which is surrounded by flowers in front of the Blue Mountains landscape. There are native and exotic plants, mysterious walkways, information centre and a couple of cafes. Toilets and picnic tables available and plenty of car parks. The drive from Sydney is nice with windy roads surrounded by native bush, it’s also worth stopping off at Windsor, a pretty historic town.

Beautiful place. Amazing view from the cafe at the entrance. Had a great time taking photos of the different wildlife and flowers that I came across. It's pretty steep so be careful of you're not fit or able bodied as it is very tiring walking back up from the bottom of the garden
The Leura Cascades Picnic Area is a recreational spot surrounded by beautiful nature featuring various walking tracks leading to several small waterfalls and cliff views. Though the walking track from Katoomba is closed due to a landslide, there is an alternate route available to reach Leura. The tittle walk to the cascades was nice. The kids enjoyed it. But the picnic area was under maintenance when we got there due to recent bad weather.
It's worth a visit when you are around the area but I wouldn't travel all the way just to visit that place.

It is a walk of 15-20 min down the hill all along the cascades. It has quite a few steps so please be mindful if you have difficulty in climbing steps. It's a fantastic day-long hiking track with some of the beautiful and less crowded lookout to the blue mountains scenaries. Bear in mind, though, it is quite a hard trail (steep, a fair few stairs etc) if you choose more difficult trails from different options getting around the walking tracks.

What a lovely place to stop for a picnic lunch on our way back home from the Blue mountains. I only wish I'd had my better camera to take photos worthy of printing. I'll surely be back again to see if I can capture views of the cascade in different light and time of day.

Giant Stairway is a popular tourist attraction located near the Three Sisters rock formations. It was constructed in 1932 and has undergone refurbishments over the years, but some of the original carved stairs still remain. The hike is challenging and involves walking up 998 stairs, including almost vertical sections that may be daunting even for those without vertigo.
Full of adventure and requires good strength… going down the stairs are much easier than to climb up.
Dikshya Bhandari — Google review
You've made it. Youre here. You saw the Three Sisters in the distance and now you're beside them. The staircase is steep and dangerous but you took your time and came to see this phenomenal vista. What a lovely place. Keep going down the staircase and you will reach the bottom of the rainforest where a hazardous but nevertheless amazing trail no doubt awaits. Tuck your socks into your pants in high grass and watch for spiders and snakes. Or you might even run into a large but lethargic hedgehog like I did.

Freetogo — Google review
Breathtakingly beautiful and breathtakingly steep. So worth it! 1 hour parks in the street are long enough to linger at the views from Echo Point and complete this round trip walk. So many other trails to come back and explore another time.
Annie Pomeroy — Google review
I just want to use two words to describe the experience, "Oh, man!"
It is one of the scariest hikes I have ever done. 900 steps, some of which are really steep with turns that you can even see where they lead to. The path is so narrow that most part allows one person to pass. So be mindful of the traffic as giving ways in the midst of the climbing can make you a bit nervous.
Getting down can be quick and scary but walking back up is more tiring and takes much longer. For someone who exercises regularly it will take about 30 mins with short breaks.
For people with acrophobia, or fear of height, the best strategy is not to look away, just to focus on the steps. It is not dangerous per se. As narrow as the path is, there are hand rails on both sides. As long as you focus on your steps and hold onto the rails, it will be fine. Only take photos if you feel comfortable while on the track.
Richard G — Google review
A moderate walk with many challenging steps. This is one of the busiest walks in the mountains, so as a local, I prefer to get there very early to avoid the crowds.
John Bek — Google review
Not too hard. Took around 3 hours to finish the track, it’s a bit dangerous on the staircase if it rains but the weather was nice.
Riley Tran — Google review
The last 80 or so metres down the steps are narrow so do use the handrails and take your time. I'd recommend proper footwear which can grip (don't wear canvass or what some others did like flip flops).
Good views and on a cloudy day when you can't make out the 3 sisters from Echo Point - going to this point is good enough (you'll make out at least one sister - and perhaps two through the fog) 🏆
There was a point at the bottom where you can cross the bridge at the bottom and touch the three sisters (well one of them) however they have since closed that off (due to the likelihood of a rockfall).
Overall - was a good adventure. Made a vlog about it too which I intend to upload to my channel as well.
Kenji San (The Kenji Diaries) — Google review
Timed our visit as the white rolled in. A little early June drizzle didn’t dampen our spirits. Added to the ambience in my opinion. Sadly unable to get across Honeymoon Bridge as it was closed due to dangerous conditions. Heart pumping walk for a variety of reasons. A must-do. Not recommended for those with a fear of heights or unstable on their feet.
Tiffany C — Google review
Spectacular, yet precarious climb. Thankfully, we have a pass to get the scenic railway back up to the top. Still a 90min walk from the base of the stairway.
Mary Howells — Google review
A great place to hike/trek. However, it is not for the faint hearted. Some parts of the staircase are really steep and just hanging by the side of the cliff/mountain, looking down will turn your leg jelly. The passage is small and enough for 1 person so take note when there are people going in both directions. Nearing the base the path opens up and you get more greenery.
Going down was not too bad, just had to go slow and watch the step. Going up I think can be a killer, it's a really tiring climb up.
We climbed down and walked 1hr to the scenic world base station. Scenic world ride back to the top ends at 4:50pm, if you miss the last ride back up you have to climb the stairs (Giant Stairway) all the way back up - so take note.
Sadiq Aslam — Google review
Although the Giant Stairway was closed due to weather, we were able to get up and close with one of the Three Sisters and was amazing to see the sandstone layering and weathering of the formation.
Justin Yau — Google review
Great place to hike if you're here to see the three sisters. It's at the side and the stairs are pretty narrow and steep. Be extra careful especially after rain. It should take you about 15 minutes to get to the bottom. When you are at the bottom, you can walk on the trails which is pretty much flat.

Echo Point Lookout, also known as Three Sisters, is a popular tourist attraction in the Blue Mountains. Despite being crowded, the view of the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley is breathtaking and definitely worth seeing. Recently upgraded and expanded, the lookout now offers more space for visitors to enjoy the panoramic scenery without having to wait long. If you plan on taking one of the suggested walks in this area, you may find that the crowds thin out by the time you return to Echo Point.
One of the most amazing views in Australia. Really well set out, lots of parking, local shops, clean public toilets, friendly atmosphere. There is a park and picnic tables and lots of families around. The area is very spacious and you get to see a clear view of some of Australian geological history. Really worth the trip. About 1hr 15mins from Sydney with new roads all the way. Do it

One of the quintessential Blue Mountains tourist attractions. With a few decent bush walking tracks dotted around this, it makes for a great day trip up from Sydney if you are into nature and bush walking. There a few cool eateries on the high street which is a 20 min walk away, however, there are a few options closer by. The train ride up from Sydney City takes about 2 hours and is quite a relaxed and picturesque ride in. Parking is also available near the spot although it does fill up pretty quick during the holidays. Scenic world is also near by.

An amazing place to visit in Blue mountains range.
There is a stunning view of the three sisters rocks from here.
Washrooms are available which are clean and comfortable.
There is a shop to buy souvenirs and some items like bee honey, information leaflets etc.
The souvenirs are bit expensive here. If you are a visitor, better buy them from Haymarket.

I recently visited Echo Point Lookout in the Blue Mountains, and I was absolutely captivated by the breathtaking scenery. The view of the Three Sisters is nothing short of spectacular, with the rock formations standing tall against the lush backdrop of the Blue Mountains. The sight is truly awe-inspiring.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Echo Point Lookout is the sense of calm it exudes. Standing there, gazing out at the vast expanse of nature, I felt a profound sense of tranquility wash over me. It's a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the serenity of the mountains.
The fresh mountain air at Echo Point is invigorating. It's a welcome respite from urban pollution, and you can't help but take deep, rejuvenating breaths as you take in the surroundings. Whether you're just enjoying the view, taking a leisurely stroll along the paths, or simply sitting and meditating, the air quality here is a reminder of the rejuvenating power of nature.
In summary, Echo Point Lookout in the Blue Mountains is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking amazing natural scenery, a calming atmosphere, and the opportunity to breathe in the freshest of mountain air. It's a place where you can connect with the beauty of the Australian wilderness and find a sense of peace that lingers long after you've left.

Great views! We arrived just in time before it started to get quite busy (around 10:45).
Easy access to a few different viewing platforms. The stairs to the three sisters were very narrow and busy, so we gave that a miss. Parking for an hour and a half was $12.60 (meters are card payment)

Dress warm as the wind can be cold. Good walking shoes, a hat, drink bottle and definitely a good camera are musts.

It is about a 20-30 minute walk from Katoomba station. Considering the time it takes to wait for the bus, I thought it would be faster to walk, so I went to Echo Point and Scenic World instead of taking the bus.
Echo Point was very beautiful and spectacular. It was the most amazing view I have ever seen and it was a great experience. I saw three rocks called the Three Sisters and there was a small rock next to them and I wondered if they were with their children.
There were a lot of people, but the view was clear and we were able to take pictures quickly. Very neat experience. Very nice.

After eventually getting parking it was great. The views awesome, although plenty of people there, so was very busy.
Be prepared to either park a fair way away from the site or try and snag a park closer. Maybe because it was New Years day it was busier than most days, but maybe it's like this all the time.
Parking is paid between 0800 - 1700 Mon to Sun, if you can find a spot. After 1700 then no charge.

I recently visited Echo Point in the Blue Mountains, and it was a mix of awe and frustration. The beauty of the Three Sisters rock formation was absolutely mesmerizing. The towering cliffs and stunning vistas left me in awe of nature's grandeur. 😍🏞️
However, the strong winds at Echo Point added a thrilling element to the visit. It was a crazy windy place, which made me appreciate the power and force of nature. It certainly added an adventurous twist to the experience! 💨🌬️
On the downside, parking at Echo Point proved to be quite challenging. The limited parking spaces and high demand made finding a spot a frustrating task. 😕 Moreover, I encountered angry neighbors who were quick to scream at anyone who parked poorly. This encounter with an angry Aussie left a negative impression and made it my least favorite visit to the area. 😔
Overall, Echo Point offers breathtaking views of the Three Sisters and showcases the awe-inspiring beauty of the Blue Mountains. The crazy windy conditions add a thrilling aspect, but the difficult parking situation and encounters with angry neighbors dampened my experience. Despite the challenges, the natural beauty remains a sight to behold, and it's worth a visit to witness the magnificence of the Three Sisters firsthand.

I enjoyed the lookout point. The views were great. The town where the lookout point is located was helpful. There is a center with different food options and a souvenir shop. There were different levels of walking paths to lookout points.

Great place with a great view across the valley- if there’s no fog…..
Most tourists stay at the lookout and don’t go down the giant stairway. You should definitely try it: it’s really exhausting, but a great hike and experience. The National park webpage says it’s 998 stairs 😀 and a grade 4 walk (maximum would be 5…)

Excellent day trip, FJ Tours was a really good company; medium sized coach was nice, our guide Huxley was super nice and a great driver!
Long day, but well worth it. We stopped at Featherdale Wildeness Park on the way, and got to pet a Koala and see all kinds of Australian wildlife. The Blue Mountains are a must-see for sure, breathtaking!

Spent a couple of nights in the Blue mountains and visited this place at sunrise and sunset. Absolutely stunning view,
It's funny you look down the mountains, not up..
Gorgeous Panasonic view of the Blue Mountains,
Can do a few walks to numerous view spots as well
Finding a car park can be a daunting task despite hefty fees unless visiting early or late

It's nice up here and not too crowded. I went at the end of December around 6pm and it was quite windy. Nevertheless, super nice scene!
Parking took a little bit of time to find though as most of the street parking got taken pretty quickly, but we circled around twice and found a spot.

What a beautiful place to visit. We went during week day and early so as to beat school groups. It was a beautiful clear fall day. Was definitely cooler up there than it was in Sydney. Had great view of 3 sisters. Did tithe tour with Viator.

The Eco Point Lookout at the Three Sisters is a breathtaking vantage point in the Blue Mountains of Australia. Nestled amidst lush greenery, it offers a panoramic view of the iconic Three Sisters rock formation, a marvel of nature. The lookout provides an opportunity to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the region, with well-maintained walking paths and informative plaques detailing the area’s rich indigenous history. The stunning vista, especially during sunrise or sunset, is nothing short of mesmerizing. Visitors can relish the tranquility and take stunning photographs, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a tranquil escape.

The blue mountains look clearly visible and stunning view from this point. Easy walk ways and only 5 minutes from the parking lot. Lots of paid parking space available. Very busy area, lots of visitors, also there is visitor center if you have any questions one of the staff can assist, staffs are very friendly.

The sheer scale of the mountain range never fails to amaze. Consider visiting at sunset if you wish to have the Three Sisters illuminated (they will be in the shadows at sunrise). The lookout is well lit at night. The lookout itself has been recently renovated with improved accessibility ramps and more seating. There are a few vantage points to soak in the view, aside from the main lookout everyone will immediately flock to. Take the stairs/ramps down to explore other vantage points.
There is no entrance fee for this lookout or the walking trails that go from here. The only public toilets I saw were the portable toilets, but there must be others in the visitor info centre and foodcourt nearby.

The big mountains at Three Sisters do make you feel tiny. Great leg workout up or down the 800m steep hill. Lots of other walk trail options for people who want to hike more. Be prepared for over 2 hrs of travel time if you're catching public transport. Bus access every 10 mins to get to Scenic Cruise from Three Sisters. Would do it all over again.

Gorgeous views as usual. Be sure to check the weather before you go because as you can see I went once when it was cold and misty and you could barely see anything. Parking is VERY expensive if you park in the closest carpark so if you don't mind walking a little park further away. There's also not much to eat or drink around so having a bite at Leura is probably a better option.

Beautiful place, great options for shorter and full day trips in the rainforest. Cable cars allow you to move faster in the terrain, with which you have the opportunity to see this vast landscape from a different point of view

Prince Henry Cliff Walk, Katoomba NSW 2780, Australia
The Three Sisters walk is a clifftop platform that provides views of three weathered sandstone peaks, which have cultural significance in Aboriginal folklore. This short trail begins at Echo Point Lookout and offers an epic experience. Along the way, visitors can admire metallic sculptures of local fauna such as a lyrebird, skink, and platypus. The descent down the Giant Stairway may be daunting but reaching Honeymoon Bridge to stand beside this legendary landmark makes it all worthwhile.
What a beautiful trail. The walkway is beautiful when the weather is nice, absolutely splendid views. There's enough paid parking. Clean public toilets and a small cafe.

Best place to sight wide range of mountains. The three sisters are unique rocks with magnificent view of national park from up above. However today was freezing and would recommend warm clothes suitable for 2 to 5 degrees chill in winter.

The Three Sisters Walk in Katoomba, New South Wales, is an incredible experience that should not be missed by anyone visiting the Blue Mountains. The walk offers breathtaking views of the Three Sisters rock formations and the surrounding valleys, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
The walk is well sign-posted and is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. It begins at the Echo Point lookout, where visitors can take in the stunning views of the Three Sisters and the Jamison Valley. From there, the walk descends down a series of steps and boardwalks, providing stunning views of the rock formations from different angles.
The walk is approximately 1.5 km long and takes about an hour to complete, depending on how often you stop to take photos and enjoy the scenery. There are several lookout points along the way, providing an opportunity to rest and take in the panoramic views of the Blue Mountains.
The Three Sisters Walk is a great way to experience the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains and is suitable for families, couples, and solo travellers. It is a well-maintained and popular attraction, so it can get crowded during peak tourist season. However, the views and experience are well worth it.
Overall, I highly recommend the Three Sisters Walk to anyone visiting Katoomba or the Blue Mountains. It is an unforgettable experience that showcases the incredible beauty of the Australian landscape.

Usually people visit this place in day time and is a beautiful Place too. Recently I have visited the same in evening to take Milky way photos. Little city light was ok but I have got super photos this time.
Easy to reach the place from Katoomba Rail Station or easy drive from the motor way.
Walk it also very very beautiful.
Plenty of parking.

Not too crowded but amazing views. Parking is available 2 minutes from the venue if you don’t find any spots near the monument. Sometimes crowded (especially during the weekend) but you can still get pictures.
My personal recommendation is during sunrise or sunset, for the best colors. I don’t think there is any trail but pretty close from the nearby towns.
If you’re making a quick stop, do visit.

Please check the weather before you visit three sisters. It was too foggy to see anything from the main spot at the top. See photos. But you could walk down to the honeymoon bridge and you might witness the beautiful and magical sight of fog clearing from the three sisters. Really amazing views and lots of hikes to choose from.

Beautiful sight and accessible from the Katoomba station via a frequent bus. There are many platforms where you can take photos with the 3 sisters. Path is well-paved on the short 20 min stroll to the 3 sisters. There is a steeper path once this nice stroll ends if you choose to do a longer walk. Great place to bring both young and old, or enjoy a nice hike. No tickets required. There are bathrooms available at the viewing area.
Ka Ling (Drkyling) — Google review
Great place to visit the mountains for a short day trip. Plenty of paid parking near the location and unpaid one is at a little walking distance near the residential areas. Few food outlets nearby, but because of the tourist spot, it's obviously a little more expensive than the normal locations. If you want to save money, bring your own food or eat before reaching this destination. Avoid the school holidays period or the weekends if you prefer fewer people around the area.

It was a nice lookout. I'm from Arizona in the USA and vistas like this are a dime a dozen so I wasn't terribly impressed. The Three Sisters are a moderately interesting rock formation. I learned that the blue haze came from the eucalyptus oil of the forest. I wish it would have been a stronger scent of eucalyptus.

Magical place to see, I have visited 2 times to this area and last time it was foggy so the gum trees looked so beautiful. But a pink sunset would be perfect here. Katoomba is the closest town to the Three Sisters and has many shops and cafes, I also know that you can catch the train from Sydney CBD to Katoomba, then walk or catch the bus to the to the mountains from there.

Oh the view from top is amazing we have decided to walk all the way down and was amazing every stop we did you can spot different view and lots of wild animals like parrots 🦜 etc they have a cable car but you can’t buy one way ticket so when we walked down we had to walk back all the way or you have to pay both way ticket.
Also make sure you got planty of water and some snacks as while you start walking there won’t be nothing on the way. The water fountain is on the end of the walk.

Beautiful walk, about 3 hours of treckking from the three sisters lookout to Leura, a small and cute village where you can have lunch or dinner in a pub. The walk was amazing, the first 30minutes are plenty of stairs that, if you start it in the three sisters lookout, are in the way down. After that, you can walk through a nice forest with tall trees and you can feel you are in the bush, in the jungle. After finding some cascades and waterfalls you will need to go upstairs to go to the Leura village, with a first stop at the picnic area. Before that, you have the opportunity of having a swim or, at least, refresh your feet in one of the waterfalls. We ended the day in Alexandra pub, in the village of Leura, which has a train station to go back to Sydney and it is just 2hours away from the city. It was not busy at all during the walk even it was on Friday the 29th of March and it is public holiday, just a few people doing that trip. The train was so bust, though, with a lot of people with big backpacks to spend a few days. The scenic world is not worth it, too expensive for what it is.

The Three Sisters Walk offers a captivating journey through nature's beauty. The scenic trail unveils stunning landscapes, with each sister rock formation standing as a testament to time. The hike provides a perfect balance of challenge and serenity, making it an ideal experience for both seasoned hikers and casual adventurers. Amazing views of the whole blue mountain range including of course the 3 sisters, which just keeps getting better if you hike down to the bottom. Make sure you consider your hiking ability as the stairs are very steep - and after enjoying the hike down you'll have to hike back up again - lol. Make sure to take lots of water and some power bars. Your phone most likely wont work if you hike to the bottom. Highly recommended and will definitely return with friends when traveling in the Sydney region.

Venturing through the Blue Mountains on the Three Sisters walk was a breathtaking experience! The stunning views and lush surroundings made every step a true delight. Standing before the iconic rock formations was awe-inspiring, showcasing the beauty of nature at its finest. The well-maintained trail offered a perfect balance of challenge and serenity, with each lookout more mesmerizing than the last. A must-do for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Our trip to the Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters walk left us in awe of the natural wonders that Australia has to offer. I think people of all fitness levels could do the walk, there are some parts of it with some steep stair descend, which would be hard on people with arthritic knees.

Just a fantastic short walk. Once you get below the 3 sisters not many tourists. We walked around to the scenic world train and gondola. The only disappointing thing is that the gondola ride up you cannot pay for a 1 way so they wanted $60 per person for the ride. Next time we will bring water and walk up. Extortion rates post COVID by Scenic World.
Scenic World, located in Katoomba, is a renowned local establishment run by the Hammon family for three generations. It has evolved into a top-tier attraction of great national importance. Positioned on the escarpment, it boasts the renowned 'Skyway' cable car with an innovative vanishing floor. Additionally, visitors can experience the Scenic Railway, which descends to the valley floor and offers a mesmerizing rainforest boardwalk.
The rides are great. Good thriller.
The newly opened Dinosaur valley. It isn’t super fun for kids but the way it has been portrayed keeps the kids very curious.
There isn’t ample car park after 10AM on weekends however the staff would guide to a comfortable parking location. The food court is good and the wash rooms are clean.
The staffs are super nice and friendly. The cabin drivers renders interesting facts in a very humorous way.
The Dinosaur playground at the entrance wasn’t that enjoyable.

Really never thought much of it until I visited the place. So many things to talk about. The parking is plenty so that's covered. The steak clock right across the entrance is so amazing. The staff in the ticket counter were so friendly in trying to explain the different routes. I used my dine and discover voucher to get a little discount. The blue and the red cable cars were the best in my view. The trail down in the forest was just insane. The massive trees, sounds of nature. All in all what a beautiful experience

Not too busy, friendly staff, gorgeous scenery.
Great for a family day out, although if you have a stroller it may be a bit difficult to navigate throughout, nonetheless the majority is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Bonus points for the food being good too, didn’t wait to long and wasn’t overly expensive.

I visited on a holiday, but fortunately it wasn't crowded.
I purchased the ticket online in advance before visiting, and it was nice that the guide at the entrance put a barcode band on my wrist and explained whole course in detail.
Additionally, I was able to comfortably eat a simple lunch box prepared in advance at the table located in below zone.
I thought that children would like it because there were various types of dinosaurs moving around and making sounds.
It was convenient to follow the deck road course and the guidance was well provided.
I used the cable car on the way up, and after coming up, it was nice to buy gifts at the souvenir shop located at the observatory, and it was also nice to go out and take pictures.

It's a wonderful place for a one day trip with friends and family. They have 3 different rides to cover up all the area in the Scenic World. But the best one was the Scenic Railway 🛤. The angle of 52° makes it crazy while going down, especially when you're sitting on the very first seat!
Staff is very friendly, jolly & helpful. The other two rides are not that crazy but provide the best view of nature's beauty.
We went there quite early, so in the morning the place wasn't that busy. So we were able to ride all three rides without any waiting. But later, around 11am/12pm it started to get crowded, and the waiting time we experienced was around 5 to 10 minutes. More waiting time for train as almost everyone wanted to sit in front seats.

Fifty bucks per head but worth it especially if you use your dine and discover vouchers and get it for $25. The dinosaur walkway is pretty cool. There are actual real dinosaurs there so be careful. Plenty of room and free parking. The staff were all really great especially Lila who said her name was Eric if you didn’t like her. Everything is really clean and the lines moved quite quickly so don’t be put off by long lines.

Amazing , I have been to the Blue mountains before but never to the scenic world wide of things. The views are incredible and it's something I will never forget . Great Day activity to do if you’re already planning to visit the blue mountains. We arrived right when it opened and recommend coming early before the crowds. We had about 3 hours before it got busy and we’re able to enjoy most of the trails with minimal other people on a weekend. Buy tickets in advance to skip the queue.
The new dinosaur valley is cute and great for kids if they like Dino’s and learning about them. I would say though there aren’t toilets in the Dino valley so plan accordingly as if you do all the trails could take about hour to hound and half.
We enjoyed riding the railway and sky rail, amazing views! Would recommend riding more than once.
All in all would recommend! It is great to be able to go into the national park as well. It’s also nice to come back and forth to the diner area for breaks if you need time between trails.
Also, highly recommend the chicken food truck out front!

Visited this while on a trip to Sydney. It's way more efficient to buy tickets online, there was a long queue to grab a ticket. Make sure you have full energy to visit here. Less a place for sitting and long waiting for the steep drive and others as well. I've felt this view is a bit overrated, but it was fun visiting. You can experience the magnificent view of the three sisters. A storey of the building is allocated for parking which is free surprisingly in Sydney😄.

Scenic World is a great place to take the family for an outdoor activity. The coal mining car ride is very cool, but it's a bit short.
The day we went, it was very foggy and drizzling rain. So we didn't get to see the wonder valleys.
There are loads of tails to hike if you're feeling adventurous. You can really make a day of it.
We stopped in the Cafe for a dnack and coffee, which was nice. They have a great selection of themed gift in the gift shop.
The dinosaur spin on it, I believe, is just a marketing spin. I don't think they've found any fossils here.
All the staff were warm and friendly. Service with a smile.
I would recommend and give them five stars.

The Zig Zag Railway, a beloved tourist attraction near Lithgow, has recently reopened after a decade of closure. This historic steam train ride offers passengers a nostalgic journey through tunnels and viaducts carved from local sandstone in the 1860s. The railway was an impressive engineering feat for its time, connecting Sydney with Western New South Wales and providing insight into Australia's railway history. Visitors can expect well-organized operations and friendly staff, making it suitable for all ages and abilities.
An excellent place to visit for any railway enthusiust or to take the family. At the time of writting this; the Zig Zag Railway has come along way to being operational again and is set to be an amazing ride from the top road to the bottom road of the Zig Zag and return. Volunteers are very proffessional and experienced.

Newly reopened and very popular. Everything is neat clean and tidy. The ride was entertaining and certainly worth a try.
Seats are in groups of four facing each other, but knee room is good.
The side of the carriage closer to the platform at Clarence (or the side further from the platform at Bottom Points if boarding there) is the better place to sit for the views.
If it is at all cool dress warmly. There is, as expected, no heating and many of those on board will choose to have the windows down.

Had this on our bucket list for a longer time and really enjoyed our day.
Firstly tickets have to be purchased online. Make sure you turn up 15 to 30 mins early to check out the gift shop, the cafe and the band if you are lucky unlike we were.
Although old the train carriages are clean and well maintained. Commentary during the trip was informative and scenery was amazing.
One thing that stood out was the actual train travel wasn't very long but referencing how steep grades were dealt with in the 1800's will explain that the overall journey there and back was about 90mins.
Overall great experience and fun day had.

We have been firm fans of the zig zag railway for very many years and over this time have brought many family members and friends to ride on it. We also appreciate that re-establishing the zig zag has relied heavily on volunteers, but guys the fire was in 2013, which was 9 years ago and it wasn't the first fire to shut the line down over its life either. Any reasonable person would agree that 9 years with still no firm reopening date has been far too long. Also your website site is misleading in that it has said for years that it is "Re-opening for Passenger Services in 2022". Well guys it is now 2023 and it's still no closer to reopening. As I'm sure many others have also done we have also tried calling on numerous occasions (on all the listed numbers) for an update and no one ever answers your phones either. You have and continue to cause immeasurable harm to your brand and reputation in the eyes of the public and run the risk of becoming irrelevant when and if you ever reopen. Don't you think it's well past time to show some interest in your supporters (the public). Sorry guys but it's a big fail so far, either get it open or walk away....

Fun for the whole family, kids and adults alike. We visited as large group of families, having booked online a few weeks in advance. Parking & checkin were seamless. Nabbing seats next to each other proved tricky given we were such a large group, but we managed to split roughly evenly across two carriages. The on-board audio coming through speakers was super informative and the views positively stunning. Stops along the way were a good chance to check out the area and use the loo if needed. Great history lesson and step back in time. Everyone we saw on the trip seemed to be enjoying themselves. Very happy. Will definitely be back!

Lovely drive from Sydney, in around 1.5 hours.
Almost destroyed by fires, then Covid, the Zig Zag railway has never looked so good.
Super clean, well presented and run by a very nice and very keen bunch of lovely people who each and every one of them wanted us to have a great day.
Of course the star of the show was the beautiful 218 steam locomotive.
What amazing sights, sounds and smells this beautiful example of old world transport has to offer.
The loco, the carages, the seating are all first class and not in any way cheap and un kempt as some tourist attractions can be.
Top notch stuff from a top notch team of volunteers.
The cafe is fantastic, the shop has some great things to purchase at very reasonable prices.
We arrived 1.5 hours early, and sat on the grassy area of the first class and super clean massive car park. No expense has been spared to make this attraction first rate.
No muddy car parks as we are sometimes used to seeing at country attractions.
We brought chairs and a picnic and while we were eating, just 20m from the station we heard that amazingly loud steam whistle of 218 approaching the station.
This was the best place to watch her come in with the previous group.
Our booked time was 12:30pm.
A great time to go.
Can’t go wrong here for a great day experiencing some old world technology supplied by a great team of people.

Well worth it, great experience and incredibly friendly volunteers.
Top 3 tips if you come up:
1. Better views on the side facing the hill (not the carpark). Train heads away from the Cafe, so also make sure the carpark is behind you, not in front.
2. When you get to top point station, climb to the bridge to watch them move the engine around. If you miss out, there's less of a crowd on the return.
3. Get there earlier because good seats fill up fast.
Went here with my friend and it was worth every cent. Volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and were constantly giving tips and sharing the history. Absolutely must pre-book well in advanced.

A lot of fun for the whole family, friendly volunteer staff always available to assist and everyone is encouraged to get involved in the experience. The train and facilities are beautifully maintained and clean.

Excellent, would be great if someone made sure that people resumed the seats they had when they get on and off the train. People tend to want to change their original position as to get a better view. People need to understand that where they choose to sit is where they should remain for the entire journey. Just a heads up to anyone who is getting on the train, the right hand side offers the best views, but be aware that your seat will probably be taken by someone who discovers this on the first time you get off the train that they will take your seat on the right hand side of the train if you are not careful. Also people who have children sometimes don't seem to care about where they are and if they are in the way of other people. If you pay money for something you should benefit fully from it and someones crouch gobblins should be kept inline to stop them from being in the way of others. But overall an excellent day!!

Excellent experience highly recommend. Went many times as a kid was saddened by the fires that damaged the tracks and buildings. As soon as they opened back up just had to go and experience it once again. Nothing better then the sounds and smells of a steam engine
Hassans Walls, located in the Blue Mountains, boasts the highest lookout point in the area. The railed lookout extends over the escarpment, providing stunning views of the mountains and valleys. Visitors can explore several lookout points offering different perspectives, all within a short walk from the car park. One particularly unique spot is a cave that frames a picturesque view, making it an ideal setting for memorable photos.
Blue Lake Jenolan is a picturesque spot that offers a short and pleasant walk around the lake, taking approximately 30 minutes. The striking blue color of the water and the pristine beauty of the area make it worth a visit. While swimming is not allowed in this platypus habitat, visitors can still enjoy the ethereal scenery.
The lake is beautiful but there’s no access. It’s closed after being damaged by fire and floods in 2020-2022.
Our Guide said that the reopening is planned in 3-4 years….
The best way to see the lake is at the Lucas cave tour - there’s a lookout after climbing up the stairs to the access to the cave. Or you take the walk to carlotta’s arch

Looks amazing from the view, however we were unable to visit due to road closures. We were told when we visited on the 9/6 that today was the first day it had been blue in months. Look forward to coming back in the future and seeing it close up.

Amazing lake with beautiful scenery and very well kept foot path with lots of wild life on the way like lizards but no snakes. The lake is very well kept and clean with places which are picture perfect which could be on a post card. Also there is a waterfall where you can swim in at the bottom of it. Parking is not far away and only a 5 minute walk to Jenolan caves and another 3 minutes for parking.

A beautiful lake to enjoy walking around or to chill out at while waiting for a tour at the Jenolan Caves. The colours of the lake are amazing. Some seating along the lake to relax and enjoy the view. There is also alot of nature to enjoy here.

Beautiful place to spend a weekend. There are many caves to explore so plan your day accordingly.
There is a bush walk trail next to it which is super awesome. You'll be able to see beautiful lake and a small waterfall.
Must visit place.

Beautiful place to explore. You need to plan to reach the location about 1 hour advance of your booked session. Delays are expected on the road as you will need to wait for traffic controllers excort vehicles to lead you to the jenolan cave parking. You may have to wait about 20 mins for the excort. From the parking you can either climb down the steps to the cave entrance or wait for the van to transport you down to the entry. Blue lake was closed due to some maintenance work. The cave exploration is lead by experienced guides. It's well paced involving some steep climb up or downs on steps with support of side rails.

Amazing view. Also the path along the river to the power plant is worth your while. It is 1,5km down stream and will take approx 1,5 hour return (bring picnic) but it is wonderful.

Jenolan Caves is a natural tourist site with 11 caves and underground rivers, located in the Blue Mountains. The limestone cave system is extensive and complex, making it one of the world's largest networks. Visitors can enjoy spectacular views of numerous caverns with vast subterranean spaces, unique limestone formations, and an underground river. Reservations are recommended for cave visits to avoid long waits during busy periods.
I went on public holiday, it was easy to find the escort vehicle, there were traffic controller really organised and easy access. Tour started on time. Amazing cave we did Lucas cave. Highly recommended book your ticket online! Easy to walk down instead catch the shuttle bus nice view!
Gislene Simon — Google review
The caves themselves are as beautiful as ever, however the drive there now from Sydney is just way too long and boring. The rains in early 2020 has closed the westbound approach via Jenolan Caves road so now you must enter via the western side via Oberon, adding at least 40 minutes to an already long drive.
The cave tours are run by knowledgeable and friendly staff. The tours themselves are not that long and they give you plenty of time to take photos.
For EV drivers, there are 2 charging stations at the entrance of the Orient cave.

My friend and I visited the Temple of Baal cave. The tour was very well presented and organized. It is a great cave to explore, you can see and feel the magnificence of nature and time itself.
The guide will explain how each formation is formed in millions of years. You will know the myth behind the name of the cave and how it was discovered.
Overall, a great experience. There are several caves to explore, you just need to decide which ones you like since you have to pay for each one.
If you wish to explore more, make sure you come here very early especially on a weekend. I suggest ordering the tickets online and come 1 hr before the tour

Really great place to go and explore one of the biggest cave systems in the world. Felt very safe in the cave. The guides are awesome. Tell you alot about the ecosystem. I did the imperial cave with my 1 year old daughter in a front facing baby carrier. Few spots where you have to duck but overall really very easy. Highly recommend.

I spent two unforgettable nights at Jenolan caves house. The accommodation was great, loved the heritage and antiquity. the food was no nonsense quintessential Australian, well worth including if you book here. All the staff were happy and helpful. Clean rooms with antique furniture, comfy beds, nice bathroom. The tours were spectacular and tour guides were friendly and very knowledgeable in geology and Australian history. Each cave was completely different and had its own vibe. The plug hole tour had to be the cherry on top, was honestly the best experience out of the whole trip, shout out to Peter and Stewart who were so professional and really made sure everyone had a great time. I just want to thank everyone at jenolan from the bottom of my heart, me and the Mrs won't forget our wonderful trip here. I don't normally leave reviews but everyone just needs to know how great this place is and really deserves more attention from state government.

The guide was fantastic - informative, passionate and kept us all safe! Well organised place! The road to the caves area is different as you follow a pilot car into the area!
Coffees are expensive! Staff were nice and toilets good! Parking good!

We had a private tour arranged through the office. Ribbon Cave with a Temple of Baal Cave entrance and an Orient Cave exit. It was absolutely amazing. Words can’t describe just how special it was to see the 3 different cave formations. Our guid was Geoff and he taught us many things about the formations of the crystals and how they form. It was most informative

Wow! What a magical experience. Very knowledgeable (and witty) guides. The walks are pretty easy (even the ‘strenuous’ rated ones) - there may be numerous stairs but the tour has ample stops for you to catch your breathe and there is no rush. Caves are cool but as you are walking they are not too cold.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Imperial caves tour and left us wanting to do the other tours as well. Our guide gave us a lot of interesting facts and kept us all engaged throughout the tour. Plan to be at the barrier point (from where the operator vehicle escorts to the caves) at least an hour in advance. Park and walk or take the shuttle. The walk to the caves is easier than the walk back as it's mostly downhill. View of the blue lake from the walking path is amazing. Can't wait for the lake boardwalk also to be complete. Restrooms at the parking spot and near caves entry. Cafe near the caves entry serves quick eats. Toast / ready to eat items get served faster.

The caves themselves are phenomenal - beyond 5 stars and a wonder of nature. Our guide, Maddie (?), was very knowledgeable and gave us great stories and info along the way. Be sure to pre-book as this is a long way to drive to be disappointed - there are extra slots available if you are staying at the hotel. The 4 star rather than 5 star was a very average cafe and food options, a tired looking hotel (and pricey), and painful traffic lights as they rebuild the roads. However, watch this space as we were told the whole experience is getting a revamp.

Nothing better than a cool dark place. A sweltering Sydney summer is a great time to visit Jenolan Caves. Walking into the belly of the beast is such a contrast to the world outside. I only did what I think was the introductory walk and visit. Took my children who were absolutely blown away by the power and awesomeness of the caves. Suddenly your children get to see old time earth reveal herself in the cold darkness. The architecture of nature is simply astounding. The millions and billions and trillions of drops forming old school Star Trek landscapes. Walking through the paths under the lights is set at a relaxed enjoyable pace. For me it was a great return trip as I’ve visited the caves many times. However, to watch my children’s awe at the beauty and weirdness of the Jenolan Caves was an experience to remember. Great bar. Ok food. As usual in high demand natural tourist settings the food has to take care of business and the expensiveness is taken into account considering the amount of work, people and care that has to be maintained to keep these magnificent caves open to the public. So, bring you’re own grub if you don’t feel like spending more than you expect or want. A great visit. Lovely experience and I’ll be back.

The trip to Jenolan Caves now is quite lengthy due to road closures. If you enjoy driving, this will not be an issue. The drive is fairly engaging with a lot of elevation changes and windy roads, with the final section being one-way and escort vehicle only. Roads are not of the best quality, however even sports cars are able to manage just fine.
The caves themselves were great. Even as someone with little interest in caves, it was still engaging and informative. Our guide Steve was also very engaging and friendly, while still maintaining professionalism and his duties in keeping everyone safe. I went to the Lucas Cave and while it was cool, it does get warm with all the steps. The ceiling of the caves can be a bit low so if you're on the taller side, do prepare to bend down for parts of the tour, however this is generally a non-issue. To not spoil too much myself (even though there's thousands of pictures already online), the formations look unreal and the light provided really brings out the best.
The way out was quite quick. As the tour ended, it's best to quickly get back to the carpark and perhaps use the toilet ASAP to be able to catch the first set of escorts out. Unsure if this was pure luck or planned though.

Great place to experience. The drive in isn't the easiest but definitely worth it. Plenty of parking.
The caves themselves are fantastic and guide was full of information.
Just bring comfortable shoes as there are quite alot of steps and walking if you want the full experience.

Went here on a trip with friends in May 2023. We chose to do two caves, the orient cave and imperial cave.
The imperial cave was a wide cave, nice crystal formations but the highlight for me was the underground river the the turquoise water, that was amazing and looked so inviting. Of course no one is allowed to swim in there to preserve its beauty.
The orient cave was truly beautiful. Compared to the orient cave, the crystal and rock formations here are truly stunning. The guide was also very knowledgeable and creative, pointing out formations and what they resembled. The kids on our tour loved that as they were also able to use their creative minds to form images of the formations.
The drive accessing the caves at the moment is long and tedious due to several road works and closures in the area. There is a point where you will be prompted to stop and follow their vehicle down the steep and narrow road drive. There is ample parking in the area.
Overall a very unique experience and I would be happy to check out other caves again (maybe once the road works are completed).

Just gorgeous! There is a cave tour for all skill types. I've done a few over my time but these are photos from the imperial tour. Nice easy one and so worth it. Tour guides are awesome. It's the other guests you have to be concerned about. Kids cannot do these tours alone so don't ask. Courtesy bus to take you to the destination from your car park or you can walk. I suggest walking down and taking the curtesy bus back. Check availability. Its a steep drive in so plan ahead or you will be late. Caves are cool but with the walking I don't think a jumper is necessary. No food in the caves guys come on and do not touch things no matter how much you are tempted. Be respectful. Be conscious of nature. Especially is summer in the Bush walks of the surrounds. You may come across brown snakes like i did and other reptiles. Wear appropriate clothes. It's not a fashion show.

The beautiful place to visit with the family and kids . They have different caves . You can choose the one want to visit. The guide is very helpful and a lot of patience to explain each and every part of the tour . Inside temperature is always 15 degrees all over the year . So you must carry some warm clothes. The shoes are very important to climb the stairs. Definitely recommend this place to visit with your family.

Wonderful experience to witness these natural wonders that were formed 340 million years ago.
Make sure you purchase the tickets especially during school or public holidays as they can be sold out easily.
After being escorted to the car park, you can walk about 500 meters to the Jenolan house and the meeting point for the Caves tour will be just next to it, which looks like a bus stop with a sign saying "Tour meeting point". Right across the small road is the ticket office and souvenir shop.
You just need to be five minutes earlier than the tour starting time, but no harm being much earlier just in case.
In terms of the Cave tour itself, the Chifley Cave tour was amazing. Maddy was so knowledgeable and passionate. And I do agree that pictures are not doing the cave justice as you do need to see it in person. More amazing than photos. Highly recommend, whichever cave tour it is.

Please purchase a tour ticket before you head out there, especially during school holidays and public holidays, seen too many people regret on the long hours drive for not be able to tour the caves.

Amazing trail tracking experience, if you love adventures. A must go place for adults but if you are taking small kids, it would be recommended to take enough caution as the cave floors are slippery and the temperature is 15 degree Celsius all year round. You must pack your necessary sunscreen and anti fly sprays as there are flies all around in summer time. It is recommended to buy tickets online well ahead as it is a top adventure tourist destination.

I had been here as a kid and now as an adult with 3 young children went again, and we all loved it! We toured through the orient caves (Persian, Egyptian, Indian and Temple of Baal) and our tour guide Steve was great. Very informative tour indeed and very kid friendly. Thank you for showing our family a great experience at the great Janolan Caves! Photos do not do the caves justice!

An important part of Australia's oil shale history.
My wife and I took the tour on the 20/2/2021and found it to be very informative. Our friendly tour guide Graeme meet us at the gates a bit before 5pm on the Saturday evening. We were joined by another couple joining the tour before driving through the gates and following our guide to the original levee bank surrounding the site of the refinery.
Graeme talked about the creation of the oil shale and other geological features of the valley before we walked down the road to the remains of the refinery gates. As we continued along the concrete driveway we stopped at different locations and were given detailed descriptions of each section of the site along with some history relating to each of the areas.
This is a tour I would recommend to anybody. It has so much to offer with stunning views of towering sandstone cliffs surrounding the refinery runes, wildlife of all descriptions and with the afternoon light the opportunity to capture some great photographic images. I also purchased the Glen Davis hard cover book from our guide at the end of the tour which is loaded with information and wonderful images of the past.
I would recommend ringing ahead and confirming you interest in a tour. This way if you are running a little late you won't miss out as you will be expected.

The Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum, situated in the Methven Street, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone intrigued by military history. Established in 1912 as part of Australia's effort to become self-sufficient in defense production, this museum is housed within the former precision engineering factory. It played a crucial role during both World Wars, manufacturing rifles and machine guns. The site now hosts an extensive collection of civilian and military firearms, making it one of the largest in Australia.
An absolute must visit when in Lithgow, the history here is just amazing.
The factory produced so much more than firearms and war items, domestic items we use every day were also made here.
The ability of the factory to adapt to changing requirements and the high quality produced is a credit to those who worked there.
Friendly, helpful staff make it a great spot to visit.
Chris Collum — Google review
Be sure to be a gun fan if you're coming here. I felt it was years of gun evolution spread across every wall. The initial part of the museum has some interesting fact boards before moving into the room of firearms.
It's a nice place to swing by and pop in, and I love that the volunteers are passionate about the place.
Looking forward to the factory out the back becoming part of the self guided tour, we received an escort as it's still unsafe to be roaming around and there's a lot of history here

Great experience and even though I’ve been a few times now it was a nice surprise to be able to access the workshop. The sight and smell gives you a small window into scale of this factory. It’s a shame manufacturing isn’t what it used to be in Australia as this factory contributed so many valuable parts.
Cheap entry in my opinion for the quality of the collection.

EVERYONE needs to come here. It is excellent and I believe will get better. The details around the history of the site and the manufacturing that occurred here is great. The volunteers there really care about the information and what they are doing. It is done really well and is very interesting. The gun collection has is amazing in Itself but the history of manufacturing that occurred here is amazing. This was at one time the largest small arms manufacturing factory in the southern hemisphere. They have set up as many old pieces of machinery that they can and intend to get some of them working - this is an amazing piece of history and should be HERITAGE listed. A great visit for anyone - get out there - take your children, take your mother - take your wife.

What a fantastic journey through the history of the Lithgow small arms factory and museum. To take my 96yr old father back to his first place of employment from (1942 -1945) as a teenager and reliving his stories with the guides was priceless. Disappointed about the internal lift not working as we had paid to see all of the museum and could not get my father in a wheel chair up to the first floor as well as seeing fathers, caring strollers up a flight of stairs. Staff absolutely amazing, caring and helpful, BUT, the owner of the museum needs to be told about the lift and restrictions it imposes on the elderly and disable community.

This museum is only on 1% of the size of the full facility. The craftsmanship and attention to detail this place had is displayed through the exhibits and leaves you in absolute awe at the quality, quantity and differentness of all the things produced during its time. From sewing machines through to machine guns.
Highly recommend at least an hour. Talk to the staff too, they are up for some yarns.

Visitors can even book a private bath for added relaxation. The atmosphere is tranquil, perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat. The staff provides top-tier service and maintains the facility's cleanliness diligently. Guests can also enjoy manicured gardens and stunning views of Lake Lyell while indulging in various baths.
Amazing experience. Service was polite and friendly. We also booked for a massage and it was extremely professional and relaxing. A great concept but with not the best execution. The rules and operational consideration takes priority over guest experience and it is a rule-fest from website, confirmation email to welcome speech. Once inside the site is ok but the farm itself is a mix of farm detritus. Much of the decor is plastic, including the plants and “bamboo” walls. The team are friendly and efficient and the masseuse (es) were excellent. The food is quite good and it is well worth completing the Japanese experience. It was expensive and had the experience been more complete/authentic it would have been a bargain. As it is it was ok but I wouldn’t want to do it again.

Went there during Easter holidays and paid for a package that includes 3 hours of bath time followed by 1 hour massage / facial.
In my opinion, the place is on the small size, however, they do control the number of people so it’s not extreme crowded.
The place is clean and staff are courteous reminding guest of Japanese etiquette.
What I didn’t like about this place is its disconnection from nature. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about the view over Lake Lyell. That’s fantastic, however, everything you can touch is plastic. The bamboo garden, the pool, the cave, the furniture, even the tea cups.
I was also disappointed when they told us we couldn’t take our own tea in. Food is rather pricy. Facial 5* / massage 3*
The above package for two cost $700 including the view. We think it’s more than what it’s worth.

This is an absolute must to attend if you are a local to Sydney or are visiting. The quality and service provided here is absolutely remarkable. You get a personal guided tour of the entire Sparadise and then encouraged to use all their baths and services during the allocated time. Recommend you to book early when they open (2PM) because you get the place to yourselves, no need to wait for baths to be free and have the peace and tranquility you deserve! At about 4PM onwards it gets absolutely packed and you have people lingering around, sharing baths but if you don’t mind that then go for it! The only downfall of this place is the restaurant, the food is extremely pricey and for standard food court japanese food. They can charge that price because there’s no other food available for kilometres!! They charge $9 for tea pots that literally taste like hot water, absolute rip off. Eat before or after, save yourself the hefty bill. Otherwise a must to visit!

Brilliant, the service and attention to detail was very high. From the moment you walk in you are treated as if you’re special, the various pools are fantastic and the staff take time to explain everything, the location, overlooking Lyell Lake is breathtaking and the landscaping within the property is brilliant. The only 2 negative comments are that the massage isn’t long enough, you must at least include a 1 hour massage, the other thing is that we bought a voucher for the value of the package at the time, due to COVID we couldn’t go until now so the charged us extra because they have since put their prices up.

We went during a cold and rainy day and it just made the bath more warm and cosy, lots of undercover places to laze around in. 3 hours was enough in my opinion, I'd only recommend you eat before since the food is expensive ($40) they give you free thongs and a waterproof bag. Staff are very nice and attentive. Very intimate and romantic place and traditional, clean. Like you are transported back to Japan.

If relaxation/destress is what you're after, then I highly recommend the Japanese Bath House! Located approximately 2 hours from Sydney CBD, this place has a variety of packages to choose from. We opted for the destress package, which includes a 30 minute massage and 3 hour in the public baths.
Bookings are needed as there is a maximum capacity allowed inside, so it is recommended making a booking atleast 3 weeks in advance, to avoid disappointment. I highly recommend making a booking for one of the early slots (around 12 pm), so that you can take it easy without rushing.
There is plenty of parking, and when you enter, you need to leave your shoes on a rack and then walk through a pool of water and at the end of it, you're given a pair of slippers to wear (yours to keep) and welcomed and given an introduction to the bath house. You need to sign a declaration form and then you're given a key to the locker. You can purchase a towel here (about $10), if needed. Each person needs to have a towel of their own. If this is your first time, you would be given a tour of the bath house.
We were then asked to change into our bath robes and then taken for our massage. The massage was followed by a nice hot tea, which has very welcome on a nice cold day. We then went and enjoyed the different onsens which were nice and relaxing (it is recommended that you spend a maximum of 10 minutes in each pool).
Following the time spent in the water you do build up an appetite. There is a restaurant to order meals from (on average a meal would be about $30), which you can sit and enjoy. The portion sizes are fairly decent and quite tasty.
Overall, I would highly recommend it and definitely go again!
Hit a like, if this was helpful 😊

We chose the night stay package to get to experience all the baths and an hour massage.
Plan on having a meal from the in house menu or an early dinner in Lithgow to return to enjoy the baths at night for a whole other experience!
A must try to escape from the city and enjoy the scenic country side in the comfort of a Japanese bath.
Definitely planning to be back soon 😄

I was very intrigued to how this was going to be, pleasantly surprised. My hubby even enjoyed it ( which was the all reason for going ) I think it’s great for people that have ailments and not recommend for young. As it is a relaxing environment and if you want to sit there and chat your in the wrong place.
I personally loved the hot pool and the cold plunge bath was invigorating mind and body.
I opted out for refreshments there , wheelchair access pretty much everywhere.
And above all service was bang on !!! I’d love to go back soon !!

Best massage I've ever had. And they have the best etiquette. You won't be dissatisfied at the Japanese bath house. They are great for couples , families and friends. They also have a great restaurant where you can eat your lunch or have morning tea. 🩵 This place is a must visit.

Beautiful place for a relaxing bath house experience. Helpful staff that ensure you respect the facilities and patrons alike. Very nice tea room with lunch options. Worth the drive!

Always a great time here at the bath house. Clean facility, good control of the amount of ppl they take daily. Lots of different pools to choose from. My favourite is to finish off the whole experience with the herbal sauna and then go for some yummy food. Food on site is more pricy than a normal restaurant ($35+ for a main like rice or noodles), but quality is very good making it more acceptable. We ordered curry beef rice and the beef is really good quality. Also the pork noodle is so yum too.

I've been a regular here for quite some time, even before they renovated the place. The cleanliness is top-notch and the staff are always professional. I did notice a slight increase in prices during the public holiday, but it wasn't too significant. I would suggest visiting earlier to avoid the crowds.

This place is beautiful and meticulous. Manicured gardens, the service impeccable. Thoroughly clean and have strict hygienic protocol. A large variety of baths set up on the hillside overlooking lake lyell. Had a massage and spend a couple of hours using the facilities. It's pretty pricey but the experience was wonderful, would do it again

Amazing customer service the moment you arrive. We had the private bath experience which was really nice. The staff were always making sure floors weren’t too wet and cleaning the place. We ate afterwards inside where the food was tasty but small portions and fairly overpriced. However, we did go there for the bathhouse experience and not the food so I am not too fussed. The little sleep pods were so useful as the hot water does make you fairly tired fast haha, wish there were more of them around. Would really recommend this for couples or anyone looking to get away for a relaxing experience! I would definitely want to check this place out at night to see the stars!

Loads of hot baths and pools, herbal sauna was the best. Just missing a really cold plunge.
This place would be ideal during colder months.
Paul Hulak — Google review
Lovely place to relax and have a wonderful hot spring water with multiple different sizes of pools. Cave pool, individual pool, big pool, cold pool, steam herbal sauna.
Remember to book the appointment via email before 6 weeks, pay when you are here. 3 hours cost $190 for 2 people to enjoy their facilities. The driveway is quite dangerous if you drive in dark due to no road light and narrow winding road.
You can bring your own foods or snacks in the car for bag and keep in cabinet as the prices of foods really expensive. You can go out to eat in your car if you feel dizzy or hungry.
Take a short shower before start, need to wear swim suits and bring own big towel or bathrobe to keep you warm when you move around. It is better to bring another towel to use after finished the bath before leaving.
They provided slipper to use and take home after finished, free water proofs bag to carry things with you if needed. There are 2 drinking water stations with paper cups, have one is need to pump quickly for water to comes out. Changing area and rest area have heater to keep us warm.

I had a complete experience at this Bath House. First, the price here is reasonable. You basically get what you pay for. Service is top-tier. All the staff and friendly and nice. They do keep this place very clean. There’s always a person going around mopping. Second, the vibe here is super Zen. You’ll feel relaxed as soon as you step into then place. I’m quite pleased with the settings and the baths. Get massage package as well. I mean how often do you really come here. May as well get then combo! Third, I must say there’s not alot to do after 1 hour. They should really add more temperature zone. However, I still highly recommend this place! You’ll like it.

My son & myself love this place so much. The cottage is nice and clean. It has everything you need during the stay. The activities we joined were great too, especially the horse riding. I never like to ride on a horse last time but now my view totally changed, instruction told was clear & the host will make sure everything is fine & safe before we set off. I feel good & really enjoy it this time. The farm is well maintenance and the farm pets are all loveable. And of course, the host - Pauline. She is friendly & responsive. She never failed to reply my queries every time👍🏻👍🏻. The only downside was we are unable to stay longer ☹️
Thanks, Pauline for making our short stay so memorable 😘

We spent two nights at the farm and we truly enjoyed our stay! The accommodation was tidy and clean. My daughter loved the interaction with the many animals at the farm. Our host Pauline went above and beyond to make this stay memorable for the entire family. Highly recommended!

My family and I just love visiting the farm. I absolutely recommend this beautiful property to everyone. I can’t keep my daughter away from there actually. This place has really changed my Daughters life in so many ways. The love she has for the horses is really something beautiful to see. The owner Pauline is a remarkable woman and she makes us feel so welcome. My Daughter definitely has a new role model in Pauline.
We will always be back.

This place is truly amazing. We have been a couple of times now (and are booked in to go again!) and Pauline has always made us feel welcome. She always goes above and beyond and clearly loves her gorgeous animals. The accommodation is clean, warm and comfortable - we really couldn't recommend it more highly (we've been with young kids and elderly parents and all were happy). Thank you so much

Wonderful place to visit with lots of different animals. We are happy to stay there for 2 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Very happy to meet owner Pauline and had her taking us to horse riding and farm tour. She is very kind that she rescued different animals and help them grow in the farm. Highly recommend. It is not only for kids, we and my parents also enjoyed it a lot. (Fireplace at night and gorgeous star night is a plus :D )

Had a really lovely experience doing a trail ride today. You can tell that the horses are well loved and cared for which makes the experience so much more special. Pauline was so kind, welcoming and shared her vast expanse of knowledge with us. We got to see camels, emus, goats, sheep, a pig, plus more. Absolutely magical and definitely coming back for a longer stay! Thank you Pauline!

A great place for a family getaway! We were staying there for a couple of nights and also got an opportunity to enjoy the horse riding and a farm tour. We stayed two nights over the long weekend in the two bedroom cabin. It was a beautiful experience for our family of five. The cabin was comfortable and simple. My daughter and I did two horse trail rides and loved it. We all did the buggy ride which was great fun, especially for my 12 year old sons. Pauline is very friendly, informative, hard working and safety conscious.

We did the Buggy Tour last week while holidaying at the Blue Mountains. It was the highlight of our trip! Completed tour with husband and almost 17yo son. Each of us got to drive our own Buggy, so much fun, despite the minus "feels like" temperatures! We even got to see goats, cows, alpacas, chickens, horses, camels, Pepper the Pig, Bear the Dog, and even an emu! Highly recommend visiting, now I know they do farm stays, we hope to visiting again using their accommodation and take their interactive safari tour...

An absolutely amazing place to visit. My family and I had visited Mayfield Garden during their autumn festival and the place is spectacular. Little one loved it as there's so much to see, and so did we. It's vast and as their recommendation, atleast 4 hours is needed to explore the entire garden. It was very busy today being Easter Sunday, so buying tickets online was ideal to skip the ticket queue. Although it was busy, because the garden covers 65 hectares, it was still very spacious despite the number of attendances. The garden is well maintained, clean and beautiful. All the staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The maze cafe and staff service was great, food and coffee was lovely. Our experience was amazing here and we're already planning to come back again this month.
Update: Came back a second time within the month for the Autumn festival. Despite the weather being a little gloomy and light showers, our visit was still enjoyable. There's so much more to see that we didn't get a chance on our last visit. Enjoyed a picnic lunch just sitting on the lawn with beautiful scenery. Had a great time. Thank you for staff and the owners.

Having seen Mayfield Gardens on social media platforms we decided to go for a day trip to visit.
From driving in the leaving the whole day was just breath taking. Such relaxing and beautiful grounds just makes you really appreciate the natural beauty and quietness that Mother Nature has to offer. The gardens are well kept and very easy walking tracks. The cafe food was delicious fresh and very tasty. I would just recommend to book a table ahead of your visit to ensure you are able to get seated.

Just happened on this place by sheer luck and what a absolutely great find.
One of the best gardens I've walked through, very well maintained and very scenic.
Walked around here for about 2 hours but I could have spent longer if I had more time but will come again as I had to skip the maze.
Highly recommend taking a day trip up to here if in Sydney or surrounding areas.

What a spectacular and magical place. Thanks to the summer festival, we had the chance to enjoy two gardens (Mayfield Garden & Hawkin’s Family Garden) in one visit. Such an amazing garden with amazing variety of plants. The maze is interesting and enjoyable. We spent nearly 4 hours in the Garden but still felt a little bit rush. Tips before you visit - have plenty of water with you, wear comfortable shoes and carefully protect yourself from the sun. We’ll definitely come back in different seasons.

It's a spectacular place to visit during autumn. Amazing fall colours tree and lush green garden looks like a portrait picture. so many beautiful picture-perfect spots for taking photos. It's a huge garden with many different themes, and the maze is one of the best attractions. A nice cafe is there at the entrance of the garden. We visited during the autumn festival and was awesome. Takes the whole day to see everything, and it's a lot of walking but worth it

Mayfield Garden was absolutely beautiful. We were in awe of the architecture and fine details put into the different areas of the garden. Even the pathway looked as though it was put together stone by stone, by hand. We will definitely be visiting again during Spring season when all the flowers and plants are in bloom. The experience we had was definitely worth every moment and every memory. I recommend to anyone who loves nature, water and serenity.

Mayfield garden is a beautiful and large garden with a variety of flowers, plants and lakes. The garden has multiple trails to follow for the different exhibits. On one of the lakes it is possible to take a rowboat out for 20 minutes. The garden also has a chapel and bird sanctuary. Around the entrance area there is a restaurant and some snack shops.

Three hours drive from Sydney. If you would like to hang with your family and friends, then I would suggest you to visit the garden specially during Autumn festival which is in April. I would suggest you to bring your own food as there are plenty of open spaces where you can arrange your own picnic. The garden is huge so defiantly suggest you to arrive as early as possible. Would love to visit again during Winter festival. Can't wait for it!

A fantastic garden with strong autumn colours coming through, an abundance of maple trees of different varieties, beautifully landscaped gardens for a reasonable entry fee. An absolute stunner and worth the drive in peak Autumn season. They are in the middle of Nowhere (Oberon) which means you shouldn't rely on mobile phone reception, yet somehow they keep busy with a fairly full car park. At absolute peak you might have to book your tickets beforehand, so pay attention. Looking forward to coming back in spring, and autumn again, then spring...

The best kept tourist secret in NSW. We went to the gardens after being recommended it by the Oberon Antique Shop owner. The gardens were a spectacular surprise with a WOW factor around every corner. Congratulations to the Hawkins family who created, own and manage this fabulous garden. It compares favourable with any European garden that I have visited. I loved the thousands and thousands of flowering bulbs Mayfield Garden was a delight and I will be back to see this wonderful garden in other seasons. Opened every day of the year with a delightful cafe, it was the highlight of our week in the Blue Mountains and the surrounding towns.

Good place to visit if you are visiting Genolan Caves or surrounding area. Probably better to visit in spring so see all the beautiful flowers this place has to offer.
Too many flies if you are visiting in summers, so I won’t recommend it. Make sure to bring some water as it is quite a big garden and be ready to walk plenty.

My favorite National Park is driving distance from Sydney! Easy to get to and lots of interesting terrains, including river crossing. The kids had a blast.

A beautiful national park to visit. Two main campgrounds which can be booked online. The diggings campground has a drop toilet. No other amenities available. Requires you to be self sufficient (bring your own water) and take your rubbish out.
Requires a 4wd for access. Other side of national park enters Sunny corner state forest and the landmark known as the Pinnacle.

Turon River National Park is a fabulous destination for adventurers with an offroad 4wd vehicle. Your regular car won't make it so bring your truck for this destination. There are abundant secluded camping sites and lots of gold mining history too. Ammenities included picnic tables, fire rings and drop toilets. The river flows clean and clear and good deep swimming holes can be found. Bring the whole family for a camping adventure they will remember.

This is the place for a great escape from the city hustle and bustle. It seems like a million miles away but it is a leisurely couple of hours drive.
There are designated camping areas within the National Park and there is a selection of accommodation choices from Turon Gates eco stay.
They have lots of isolated cabins that can accommodate a variety of numbers of people as well as 'glamping' if that is what you prefer.
Picnic areas down by the Turon River are idyllic.
All in all it is well worth the visit.

It's just like you were told as a kid ..you get to see dinosaurs and ancient animals . It's the last few days you can use your discover NSW vouchers and see something really marvelous. It's not a huge building so you will definitely have time to go through and read and really get to know about the artefacts. You enter through the gift shop into a sea of sparkling crystals..amethyst amber's and others crystals.. so many you could spend the day admiring nature's jewellery.. you walk through into the other room to be greeted by two huge dinosaur cast from original bone casts and recreated for display. Walking along the room you could experience walking through the meta million years of evolution from early signs of organisms to herds of hearing like unknown species to creatures and insects crystallized into tree wax to form into amber's .. you can see actual dinosaur bones and eggs too and find out types of fishes whose species are yet in named.. don't forget the mystery drawers of fossils. Once you have taken in all that you get to walk out of through the gift shop where if you want you can actually carry a fossilised history dating back to millions of years back home with you. .. it's really an experience.

Museum displaying cars, motorcycles & other memorabilia related to Australia's racing history.
I loved our visit to the museum! While I've been a few times over the years, it had been a while and it was the first time taking my family. I always get a kick out of seeing Australian racing history on display and being able to view up close the race cars (and bikes!) I've grown up with was very cool. The quality of the displays and background information is fantastic and a big thanks to the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Without this museum, some of the greatest race cars in Australia wouldn't be seen by the public. Whether you're a die hard race fan or someone who watches once a year when the Bathurst 1000 is on, the museum is a must do if you get the chance!

The NMRM is located at the entrance to the great Mt Panorama race track. It looks like a small building from the front, but has a treasure trove or racing memories and history inside.
Whether it's motorbikes (racing since 1938!) or cars (since 1963), there's something here for you.
As someone who has watched the Bathurst 1000 since the early 70s, this was a real trip down memory lane. It also provided a few surprises looking at the winners of the first seven or eight years of car racing.
All the major winning vehicles are on display (either replicas or restorations) and it's amazing to think about some of the early winners and they cars they drove.
There are also some cars that have participated in the 12hr and 6hr events, as well as many of the major motorcycle races over the years. If you're a speedway fan, there are even some of those on display!
Even if you're not a motor racing fan, this will still be of interest just from a local history aspect.

Very over rated, very much out dated. I mean the bike board ain't been updated since 1982. Non interactive especially the children's ay ground. They expect people to have a bbq in the picnic ground. The play ground is no good for children, no shade and quite frankly they could have at least made the ay ground an interesting, interactive kids area. One day they may get the idea of what a museum should be. There is much better out there but it depends on where or what you actually want to travel to.

This place is a hidden heaven. The top of the mountain at Mount Panorama is a great spot to just sit and chill if you are around. Although many peeps were jogging on the whole track which was quite impressive as its approx. 6 kms (inclined) but the whole place had a great vibe honestly.
And and and, you get to watch bunch of Kangaroos just roaming around the area too.
Will surely go there again soon, hopefully to watch a race on this amazing track.

Very clean. The drive is very nice with places to look left and right. Speed on conrod feels to slow they need to add an extra 20kph. Ticked off a bucket list it was awesome i highly recommend.

Absolutely breathtaking. We went in the early afternoon and just as the sun was setting. A beautiful, peaceful drive with stop points to view. Highly recommend. It was certainly worth the drive.
Do stop into the car museum as you exit.

Mount Panorama, the words instantly bring the roaring of supercars charging up the mountain and that same buzz of excitement is what you feel as you drive onto the circuit (even at 60km).
A motor racing iconic location, stunning scenery and views all around.
Will I be back, absolutely.

Have a drive around this iconic circuit.
The bends coming off the top of the mountain are very steep and very sharp. Amazing how fast a supercar gets through this bit.
Then go around the other way, remember it's 60kph and two way traffic, but it shows how sterp and windy the track is

A truly amazing experience to be able to experience driving like a pro, however the speed limit is only 60km.
The views from the mountain is stunning and you can even park your car and have a walk at the top of the mountain.
Totally free, but just make sure you stick to the speed limit as cops just come out from no where.

One of the most iconic race track in the world. The panoramic views at the top of the mountain are surreal, and there are plenty of opportunities for decent pictures with no fence obstructing the race cars around the track. Great atmosphere too during the Bathurst 12 Hours.

Amazing weather, if you like cool misty mornings followed by warm summer days, nature, fields of green and gold, with mother nature's music surrounding you on all sides. Wether travelling for a day visit while passing through, or camping, glamping,, hotels and motels for special holidays, Bathurst's Mount Panorama race track is the one ultimate walk and must do and see from the pit lane straight all the way to the top to Mount Panorama's specially named Brock's Skyline and the view in all weather is both breathtaking and amazing in all directions.
Why not stop at the local wineries located directly on the 6.2km Mount Panorama track. For your night caps and gifts for family members special day.

I love attending this circuit. Great track, good spectator areas. Camping here makes it a habitual experience.

Great circuit, local Council need to improve facilities up the top for spectators though.

Mount Panorama motor car racing circuit is up there with the best in the world. The size makes it great for action all the time, but the elevation of the Mount is amazing, something you will never see on TV until you are here. You can drive around too but ONLY at the speed limit LOL.

If you've never driven the track before, you definitely should try and get on a manufacturer's driving experience or professional drivers training day.
You definitely gain a better appreciation for the professional racing drivers who go around here for hours at a time.
The Bathurst 12 hour race is an amazing weekend!

Grand 1878 home with guided & self-guided tours & events such as high tea, jazz evenings & plays.
Loved walking through this beautiful family home. So much to view and the grounds were nice to walk around, checked out the peacocks and peahens too. Furniture artworks and fireplaces were amazing. Enjoyed it for 2hrs+ Well worth the entry fee, will come back another time.

Very nice area with a vibrant house. The owner family still lives there and the people still work there as part of daily errands. So many exciting heritage and nostalgic items around the house and nice car collection.

We did the garden self-tour only, which was fine as there are plaques full of information.
Largest Scottish thistles that I have seen!
It must be very hard to maintain the original very extensive gardens without considerable funding. Gardens seem to need a more singular vision, and are in danger of becoming a mishmash of enthusiasms.
Peacocks were an unexpected highlight of this walk for me!

Beautiful old house. Very cluttered inside feels like there is too much stuff inside not relevant to a house of that age. The owners were welcoming and are fixing the place themselves so doesn't seem to have government funding support etc. Small entry fee $15. Beautiful gardens

This place is full of amazingly gorgeous historical items from around the globe the house itself is an architectural wonder. They are always improving, renovating and restoring. Currently underway are renovations to include a cafe which will be wonderful. Also fingers crossed that the guide book with details of many of the objects will be finished soon. Looking forward to reading more about the house history and contents Christopher 😁

We visited the house during Easter holiday.
The entrance fee is $15 each and there are lots to look around.
Very beautiful garden and antiques in the house.
Highly recommended to visit!
* thanks for finding my lost wallet and sending it back to me*

The house has very interesting furniture but has dead animals skins. Other then that they can be suitable for animal lovers because of a cat named Wilson, a turtle called Henry/Hank, an unnamed tabby and many, many peacocks in the garden. Perfect for history lovers too! Sometimes, you can just have a look around the garden outside. There is a church, an antique store and many more! Also, you don't need a guided tour because there is many signs of information inside and out.

I really enjoyed my morning at Abercrombie house. Seeing a part of our history still alive and housing an Aussie family was wonderful, it's like its still breathing. And the staff member was lovely and getting to talk to the family members on the day I was there was fantastic also.

Must visit once to have a great experience. The collection of vintage items is there. You will get a royal vibe and great sight of vintage collection. It was a great feeling...

A beautiful mansion built in the mid 19th century. I was fortunate to visit on the annual Scottish Day. It was fabulous with lone pipers, a pipe band, singers and dancers.
The house itself is fascinating and nearly every room was open.
I will visit again.

This magnificent estate is well worth a visit. So much to see in so many painstakingly restored rooms. From the massive ballroom to the hundreds of authentic furniture pieces and a bewildering number of fireplaces. The grounds are also a sight to behold with all the lawns, gardens, stables, blacksmith quarters and other outbuildings. Friendly and helpful staff to answer all questions on the history of the place. Highly recommend at least a three hour visit.

This was cool, but a bit strange.
The house and historic furnishings and trinkets were lovely, and it was interesting to look around and imagine what life would've been like. It wasn't busy at all, and we were at our leisure to wander around at our own pace without getting in anyone's way.
The number of rooms and winding staircases and windows and balconies is just beyond anything we build today.
Although the renovations have been underway for literally half a century, they seem very haphazard and even the bits that are open to the public have extension leads running everywhere, visible fire extinguishers, filyhy patched carpet etc, and no information about what the room was used for, how it would've been decorated etc.
Every flat surface in the house is crammed with mis-matched bric-a-brac with no information about what it is or how it relates to the house. E.g. a Chinese vase is shoved next to an African wood carving, next to an ancient arrowhead, with some old glass water bottles stacked nearby.
Every wall is covered with random pictures and pieces of artwork, from military scenes to yachts to nude sketches to flower tapestries to family photos. Again there is no information about their time period, where they came from, how they were acquired, or how they relate to the house.
Yet there is a full A4 page dedicated to the pet turtle, and one for the yabby as well.
The gardens are not really maintained and are just "there"; not set out with seating to sit and enjoy. You can wander among the out-buildings, but none of them are open to look at and most of them have junk stacked under the verandahs etc.
The grounds do have some interesting and detailed information about the white settlers, the building of the house, the women who occupied it during WWII etc.
Overall, it's an interesting historical experience. There is plenty to see, and the family has obviously put a lot of love and hard work into it, but it feels haphazard and directionless.

Abercrombie House is a magnificent looking house. The construction is a tribute to the builders of the time, as well as those who selected the materials for the building.
As the house is now occupied, not all of the rooms are accessible, but the house is so big, and there are so many rooms to visit, that this hardly matters.
We did find that the house was overly cluttered with souvenirs and mementos from the various family's travels and there was no pattern or theme to all the items in the house. It seems to be a random collection of items from around the world. It was a little more difficult to appreciate the inside of the house, the pictures of those who have lived or connected to the various residents of the home or how the house was home to various families in the time it has stood.
It's still well worth visiting for a glimpse into the early years of life in Bathurst and surrounds. The grounds of the home are beautiful and tell the story of how the more well to do lived in the past.
Abercrombie house is about 10 minutes or so from the centre of Bathurst, hidden away from the main highways and even the local roads.

Great to see a part of history is still here. Happy to pay the entry fee to contribute to restoration. The house definitely needs more maintenance and cleaning. The rooms open to public needs a lot of tidying up so it wouldn't feel like it's just random stuff piled up here and there. I understand that this would require lots of hard work and not to mention $$$. Funny to see the Christmas decos in July.

A time capsule sitting on the green.
The attention to details of the building's original design is amazing. The occupants of the great mansion over the years brought culture from around the globe back into their rooms and further enriched the visiting experience.
A recommended attraction on the outskirts of Bathurst.
