A very interesting museum, and the staff member was absolutely incredible and explained everything so well. We had our pictures taken in the jeep and watched a short 20 minute documentary too. They were very accomodating and allowed our dog into the museum too which was great. Lots to read on the information boards too, and plenty of artefacts around the museum. A great cafe next door too, and highly recommended to visit!
Kerbray — Google review
A great place to visit. The museum staff were very friendly and so willing to help. The information in the museum is well presented and there are some great video presentations. Allow plenty of time to see everything especially the bunker. The cafe is open Thursday to Sunday and they have excellent tea and coffee. The main meals are delicious and well presented.
Ruth Angus — Google review
Beautiful place. Educational and lovely staff willing to educate you on all the facets of the lake and where the boats used to land.
War history Education. So much to see and do.
Has a lovely park outside for the children. The only thing I would like would be a cafe. It's missing and I'd say we'll needed.

Such an important location in Australian history.
Great team to have stored everything so beautifully.
We went at around 11AM, 2.5hrs just slipped in a jiffy .

History of the Catalans flying aircraft, there is a large model inside the building along with other artifacts relating to world war 2 , also check out the underground bunker that was used in the war, recommend this museum highly.
Alf Corbett — Google review
Well worth a visit. Do make sure you have about 2 hours to see it properly. From watching the video after a brief chat, to viewing the exhibits and the bunker at the end. The Flying Boat Museum explained how Lake Boga became an important part of WW2 and some things that we are not taught in Australian History at school
Denise Bant — Google review
This a must look at. There is a lot of history. Staff are super friendly. Naz can't help you enough. He shows true passion for his job. The bunker is worth a look. Give yourself a couple of hours. If you like reading maybe an extra hour or so. Highly recommend. 10/10

What a brilliant surprise it was to find this fabulous museum! I'm an aircraft nut from teenage years & was over the moon to see the restored Catalina plus all the other brilliant aviation (& other) memorabilia.
Lake Boga was a WW2 secret & also a modern day secret as we had never heard its story. So glad we visited & we'll be spreading the word!
Colin Slark — Google review
This is an excellent museum..a úst visit!! Lyn personally welcomed us and showed us in. The displays are informative and numerous. Can't fault it. The facilities are great as is the gift shop. Naz happily advised the best photo angles for the perfect photo on the jeep and of the Catalina. His sense of humour, sales skills and infectious laugh topped off the visit.😄 We walked out smarter and smiling. Thank you for making this such an enjoyable experience,
Naz and Lyn

If you are travelling through north west Victoria, put Lake Boga on your MUST list.
You have to stop off and enjoy the lakeside frontage with family playpark, sheltered BBQ, green lawns and shade trees.
But do this at the Catalina Museum.
After Darwin was raided by the Japanese in 1941, the allies needed a new base to repair and service the flying boats. So Lake Boga was chosen.
The Japanese even sent a radio message saying they were coming to attack the "secret" base!
Inside the air conditioned museum is a real life Consolidated PBY Catalina, along with models of the aircraft, engines, a B17 model and other memorabilia from its WW2 days.
In addition, the museum has a seriously nice cafe that serves really good coffee.
Not only is the area kid friendly, but pet friendly (with a dog drinking bowl at the BBQ) Its also wheelchair friendly throughout, from the car park, museum, BBQ, lawns and paths.
I admit bias, as I am an aviation freak, so my score is 15 out of 10.

What a great place this is. The Shearer, Jack, was very informative and entertaining. He told us some of his experiences as a shearer over the years and how the industry has changed. Excellent.
The museum has a number of exhibits which are really interesting. The cafe had the best carrot cake made by Mandy and Ricky and the Receptionist were so welcoming. Great experience
Showroom with 40+ classic, old-school vehicles on display, plus a spacious gift shop.
If you love Holden's this is a must see.
I really love the cars, the engines. A great place to celebrate a fantastic model vehicle!
Kerry Ladiges — Google review
A great museum with a range of classic and modern Holden’s that are swapped out every couple of months. With an affordable $10 entry to the museum itself, it grants access for either a 10 minute walk-in-walk-out or more than hour of in-depth reading into the history and information of Holden. The staff are super friendly and approachable and appreciate a good conversation. Overall the National Holden Motor Museum is a must visit for car enthusiasts keen on looking into the discontinued Holden name or rather, just to kill a bit of time while visiting Echuca.

It's not that I'm a motor fanatic but I do enjoy seeing exhibitions about vehicles.
This museum is not particularly large but it will take you through the history of this Australian brand that goes back more than 100 years.
The state of conservation and the care of the exhibition seems incredible to me and that makes the entry of 10 dollars (6 euros) not seem expensive for such a small museum.
There are the most curious vehicles and you will even be able to see engines and prototypes and vehicles from all eras which makes it interesting.
I especially like a small place that bases the exhibition on donations from people that simulates a kitchen from the 40s or 50s.
Interesting visit although I think it is more recommended for motor lovers.

Our family is a long time supporter of Holdens, and museums like this one are a treat!
We visited last weekend. Entry fee is cheap at only $10 per adult.
The weather was super hot that day but inside it was comfortable.
Great range of vehicles and memorabilia, and it was great to hear all the visitors reminiscing about their Holden adventures.
Please visit soon as the museum is closing down in April 2024!

If you’re a car fan or even interested in history the Holden Museum is a must when you’re in Echuca! There’s so much to see and you can get really close to some great and rare examples of Australian motor engineering. Ticket prices are very reasonable and you won’t be disappointed!

Loved our visit to the National Holden Motor Museum.
As a mechanic it was great to see all the different models of Holdens from the past decades. There are also some prototype models as well as models used in the product development process.
Super interesting place to visit even if you're not a car fanatic.
Definitely recommend it if you're in the area or just passing through.
There's also a great giftshop which has something for any car nut. Not just Holden fans.

Perhaps buy tickets if you come on a busy weekend. Holden is part of our National heritage, there's not much left of Australian pioneering history left. Echuca is a great place to visit

Wasn't bad, I'm not a big Holden fan, some others would love it more. That said it was interesting to see the history of Holden from before my time all in one spot. Entry price was fair and plenty of parking available.

The museum was great - awesome to see the history of Holden and the many different vehicles and motors on display but what really made this place was the service. The guys here are awesome- they made our experience smooth and fun by accommodating us and our dogs. Greatly appreciate the service. Thank you!

Open-air museum tracing the history of Echuca's 19th-century river wharf, shipbuilders & sawmills.
What a lovely place to visit with the kids! The street walk to the Discovery Centre from where we parked our car was beautiful. It reminded me of Sovereign Hill. When you get inside there is a lot to see and do. Make sure you walk around and see all of it as some parts can easily be missed. There is an indoor museum, and very large outdoor section. Entry is free. If you want to ride on the paddle boats there is a charge, however there is one on display on the river you can walk on as shown in the photos.

The steam boat 1 + half hour tour was well worth doing. It's good to see the accommodation along the river bank.
Lots of motor boats and jetskis along the way. It's holiday time Now in January.
In February it's to hot to visit.

Great place to spend your day. Our family (2 adults and 2 kids) availed the Heritage Package (costs $171) which includes 1 hour paddle steamboat ride, guided port tour, entry to historical museum, Great Australian beer shed and holden museum. We have hesitation to avail the guided tour at first. Were glad we decided to go for it. It was fun, informative and refreshing. Our guide tour, Jenny, is a legend! It’s our honour to have met her. We suggest to do the paddle steamboat ride. It’s wonderful to explore the length of Murray river while drinking beer/wine/coffee/soda (there’s a kiosk in the steamboat). The kiosk doesn’t sell hot foods only crisps and cookies. Kids will have opportunity as well to drive the steamboat. If you’re in a budget, the entry to the port is free. There is so much to do and explore. There’s an indoor play area at the top of the wooden dock. Kids can enjoy playing life size janga, bowling and playing music instruments while parents can recollect whilst savouring the scenic view. So, be sure to pack lunch and enjoy.

Port of Echuca is a must visit place in Australia. It offers lots of history and is action packed for fun, for all ages. Whether you wish to indulge in local history and stroll through the nearby port of Echuca museum or hop in to a stagecoach ride, or take a paddlesteamer ride... there's plenty of action for everyone over here. We visit Echuca few times a year and have enjoyed all these fun activities many times. Parking can be tight though during long weekends, public holidays etc. Highly recommended.

Great museum. Plenty to see. Enjoyed the one hour informative tour. The guide was excellent with an engaging manner and plenty of understanding of the history that answered the question 'Why Echuca?' Book for 11.30 or 1.30. The afternoon tour appears the quieter of the two. Plenty of souvenirs available. The museum has three entry. You can also book Paddle steamer rides here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed the Port After Dark lantern tour. Well led by the guide.

Over the years we have visited the Port of Echuca many times & always enjoyed our trip back in history. Today we visited mainly for a cruise on a paddle steamer. The river around the Port was busy & we really enjoyed our one hour cruise on the PS Alexander Arbuthnot just watching the world & scenery pass by.

A must do if your in Echuca. Plenty of things to see and do for the family to look at and the museum also is interactive so it was great with the kids. You dont need to pay to look around which makes it even better. You may want to book your steamboat cruise in advance as they can be sold out very quickly.

The Steam engine display is a must for Steam Rally enthusiasts. Well informed staff with a friendly attitude. You can ask anything about the steam engines and they will tell you in an interesting and educational way, about the history of the Steam engines on display, how they run and the history behind them.
I highly recommend this location for tourists to learn about the Port of Echuca and it's history. The displays of the equipment on display is interactive and fun to learn about the Port of Echuca.

small old town, Museum is free entry, nice view of The River Murray. The horse cart ride took 10$ for each adult. The city is famous for ice cream and winery. Free testing is available in few shops.
Eccentric collection of motoring, brewing & domestic items, including thousands of global beer cans.
Absolutely amazing and extensive collections of not just great Australian beers (signage, cans, schooners, etc.) but also showcases historic farm equipment, telephones and cool vintage cars. So much passion and history in this place. The not-your- ordinary tour by the owner himself, Neil, is a bonus not to be missed. Neil made it concisely informative and delivered in an interactive and fun manner. You’ll surely leave with a pound of knowledge and a ton of smile. Bonus: you can order a beer or wine to drink whilst enjoying your walk/viewing/tour. There are footy memorabilia which you can buy which proceeds goes to a children foundation. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR EVERYONE TO VISIT. You’ll surely not gonna regret it.

The Great Aussie Beer Shed is a must do when you visit Echuca. It is absolutely brilliant. Neil is a wonderful host who gave an entertaining tour. He is a quintessential Aussie who has an infectious passion for the past. He is so engaging that he had patrons singing a song from 1966! Our kids were fascinated with the memorabilia and it was wonderful to visit Jack's Shed, which is a tribute to his father. I highly recommend visiting this attraction. It is well priced and an enjoyable couple of hours for the entire family. Thank you Neil for capturing moments from Australia's past.

We went to see the museum, knowing there will be a lot of old beer cans which would be interesting! But we were surprised by the tour guided by Mr Neil. Felt authentic, a life time dedication and his very interesting view point of Austrlian history, society, war and perfect show involving kids to pass the information about all these was just awesome! I admire the collection and would love to see this place and similar to stay operational and informative as it is now having Neil there.

Highly recommended. I read many reviews and saw the ratings before going there. But still surprised me. Neil is passionate about his life long collection and Australian history. He is a great story teller and showman that presents his passion and history in very interesting way. He could be good stand up comedian. Having him telling you the story add great touch to his amazing collection. Don’t miss it if you are in the area. I hope someone could catalogue all his collection and would add more note to each items. Government should give him some grants to expand this amazing work. This need to be deserved for future generations.

This place is amazing. The host has collected such a wonderful variety of rare and unusual objects that tell the history of our country. This isn't just a beer collection. My husband and I collect Coca Cola items, but this collection is WOW. There are rare pieces and unusual pieces both inside and outside. The host is a real character, so full of enthusiasm for his collection and so knowledgeable about the history of the items. We could have spent all day here.

The Great Aussie beer shed is amazing, and Neil and Andrea are spectacular hosts they are easygoing, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Tours are run. Give them a call. This is a must if you are visiting Eucha. There are plenty of things to look at: car museum, petrol bowsers, farm equipment, Anzac memorabilia, and most importantly beer products by the 1000s. This will keep you entertained for hours and free drink with your entry ticket.

If you're in Echuca and don't visit the Great Aussie Beer Shed, then you're just not an Aussie! All I can say is WOW! What a collection! It truly is overwhelming! We spent just over a couple of hours there but could have easily spent a full day there. The hosts, Neil & Andrea are absolutely wonderful people - very welcoming and happy to help you in any way they can as they're deservedly proud of their incredible museum. Even our dogs were welcome! It wasn't just the huge collection of over 20,000 beer cans than was mindblowing but it was all the Australiana, the carriages, the cars, the farm equipment and so many other items of interest from the past that kept us on our toes and watching in wonderment! Highly recommend and if you only have time to visit one place in Echuca, make sure this is it! Loved it!

Today we were greeted by Neil in the car park, he came out to say hello and introduce himself which was such a lovely, personal touch. We were then given a tour by Ray, who was just as wonderful and full of information. We had our dogs with us, and they so kindly accommodated them and welcomed them to join in, which was such a delight for us being devoted pet parents. The museum itself is amazing. There is so much Australian history here as well as an incredible family history, which I feel privileged to have learnt about. It's inspiring to think of how many incredible, everyday people there are that have made such a difference in this world silently, and we need more places like this to shed light on these everyday heroes. Thank you!

What a fantastic place!!! I cannot recommend this place enough. Neil's enthusiasm is infectious what an absolute legend and amazing place to explore. This place is a must see and to boot Neil donates the profits to the local children's hospital! True blue Aussie wish I had found it sooner and had more time there. Will definitely be back.
Thanks again Neil
one of the best lifetime experience! I went there today with my family and it just bring joy to my eyes! It was so beautiful and truely amazing to learn and see most beautiful kinds of animals! Learning to facts too. This is probably the best wildlife parks / zoo's I've been too. Thanks Altina Wildlife Park 🦓🦒🦁🐅

I returned for another fabulous visit to Altina today. The young Emily guided our tour. She was amazingly knowledgeable and very informative. We also did a behind the scenes tour which was an exceptional experience for our visiting family.

Was pouring rain and we still had a great day. Very close access to wild animals.
Great preservation of endangered species programs.
I paid extra for the meerkat experience which was absolutely wonderful. My ranger/guide was such a lovely person. Lots of great knowledge and took the video of me.

Altina is a hidden treasure on the Sturt Highway and a conservation haven for so many species in the heart of the Riverina. The animal encounters are delightful with utmost care taken that the animals are comfortable with visitors. Every visit has new experiences and we go back at least yearly.

Altina Wildlife Park is definitely worth a visit! This is without a doubt the closest and most personal zoo tour I think you'd be able to get! For about $140 for two adults and two children we had a horse drawn tour of the park. We arrived at 8.45am for the 9am tour and spent half an hour in the park's "cuddly zoo" where we saw monkeys, meercats, wallabies, red pandas etc before our cart departed. You also get to walk through their taxidermy museum which is wonderful. Jordan was our guide and Lawson our trusty steed. The horse tour walks through the park with the guide discussing the animals and another keeper offers the animals a snack if they come over and see the visitors. They have trained the animals to let them check them over when they do this which is very impressive and makes the tour even more personal! They have lions, hyenas, zebra, African wild dogs, rhinos which unfortunately weren't out, camels, caybara, heaps of deer, bison and much more. The horse cart is more expensive than the motorised cart but likely more personal without as many people. If youre visiting in Summer the 9am timeslot is advisable because of the heat. Sit on the left if you'd like to be in the shade. Bookings as essential as you cannot wander the park. Highly recommended! Great for kids. Thanks for having us!!

We did a tour on the 11/6/23.
It was an amazing experiance for the whole family we loved all of it, from the horse and cart to all the amazing animals.
I love that as you go around they feed the animals so you get to see them up all really close unlike other Zoos you see them sleeping from a distance (mostly). Tour guide (Rebecca) was so patient with the kids questions and comments they learnt a lot while seeing and loving the experience. They have already asked if we can do it next weekend.
I would reccomend this to everybody it is a MUST SEE 10/10 !!!

Absolutely fantastic, our guide Cat was amazing at answering all our questions and letting us have a good look at the animals but most importantly the animals look happy and adored
As the tours are guided you will have to wait at the main gates for the park staff to open them, which won’t happen until about 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time so if you are really early bring some water and snacks.
Such a heartwarming experience to see the animals so happy and healthy.

Took my partner to Altina for a surprise tour for his Christmas present and as a second surprise, he got to feed some giraffes. I really wanted to make it a double surprise by the initial surprise being the tour and the second surprise being the giraffe and zebra feeding which would happen after the tour. Becca was fantastic and gave us our tour on the horse drawn cart and really helped make the surprise the best it could be and helped me keep the second part of the surprise a secret until it was time to feed the giraffes.
Once we moved onto the giraffes we had Allie. Allie was wonderful and super knowledgeable about giraffes and zebras. We had such a great time feeding the giraffes and zebras and Allie made the experience such a fun and friendly one. It was so special to be able to feed these amazing animals and learn so much about them. Allie was also kind enough to take some really nice photos of us with Shaka (the best giraffe ever!)
Thanks so much Altina!

Good experience. We were there during summer, and it was so humid, definitely recommend going during the cooler months. It also gets really sandy as the cart/horses manoeuvre, so bring along a hat and sunnies.
We paid $45 per person for motorised cart.
It was disappointing that light afternoon snack wasn’t provided despite stating it on their website upon booking confirmation.
There were other animals outdoors and a small air conditioned mini museum you could take a look while waiting for the tour to start, but many of us were just in the AC room due to the weather, it was about 43 degrees celsius that day.
Our tour guide seemed to be rushing, we only had a few seconds view of some animals or just drove past them which was a pity. Our cart was overtaking all the other groups who had different guides.
I believe this would’ve been a better experience with different tour guides, nevertheless, it was a unique experience for us.

I took my son who is 4 today, he loved it and so did I. We did not go in the horse drawn carriage instead just opting for the basic seats on the back of the Ute. It was pretty cool. There was plenty to see, we arrived at 12:45, with gates opening at 12:50 for our 1pm booking. We could then park inside the park. From the parking we moved into the gift shop to pay and then on to the little walking track here we got to see some monkeys, mear cats, crocodiles and alligators. We had 30 minutes to roam around before boarding our ride around the park. The ride went for about an hour and half. All the animals seemed to like the attention and came up to the viewing areas, some with a little coercion of food from the guide lol. It was a great day out. The kids could move around the carriage while stoped to get a better look, all in all I would recommend Altina wildlife park. Bookings are essencial on their website.

Not like a normal zoo it's a guided tour we took my step father who has mobility issues they were accommodating and helpful and he got to take the grand kids and experience something new with them as a 58 year old man who has been to many zoos he was overwhelmed with the experience

Honestly one of the best wildlife parks my partner and I have visited, and we have been to quiet a few, you book in advance online or can call up to see if there are availabilities. We had booked 3 of the animal encounters and they were able to organise a fourth for us when requested, all the staff we very helpful, nice, and knowledgeable about their animals. The animals were well cared for and well socialised, with lots of room to roam. The monkey's and meerkats we interactive and happy to take food and climb all over you if you were quiet and respectful towards them. The rhinos we're happy to come in for some treats and let you have a scratch. The lion encounter were our highlight, feeding them was an amazing experience, just keep you fingers to yourself because they are wild animals. Our tour guide, I believe her name was Sonya, was lovely, she made sure to point out the different animals and gave us plenty of time with each encounter. 10/10, we will be visiting again!

Great little visit, quite a surprise to see lions, rhinos, hyenas and such deep in Australia. They put on a great show with getting the animals to come say hi, through a fence! And red pandas are very cute up close but also look a bit like ginger haired racoons

Every year my family and I make the long drive from Queensland to Victoria to see my lovely grandparents and every time we come down, we absolutely have to visit the Big Strawberry! It’s an icon- with delicious parfaits, lots of delicious strawberry items on the menu, and a fabulous selection of gifts to take home (the tiny jam jars and tomato relish are a must). My family love to visit- it’s very accessible for older adults and when in bloom the roses are gorgeous! I bought a jar of red gum honey in January to bring back with me to Queensland and just opened it tonight and it’s absolutely delicious- a wonderful reminder of all the good memories at the Big Strawberry! 🍓🍓🍓🍓

Stopped by on our way back from Barmah forest. The place looked a little touristy.
Shared one of the most heavenly strawberry pancakes every and bought a couple of bottles of strawberry and mulberry jams.
Must admit that the gems are a cut above what we get from the supermarkets.
Worth a try

I recently visited The Big Strawberry and had a pleasant experience overall. It was well signed so found it very easily. While it wasn't as big as I initially imagined, it still provided a fantastic photo opportunity. The farm's collection of produce and jams was impressive, and I couldn't resist picking up a few delicious items to take home. Additionally, the café served tasty food, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. If you're looking for a charming place to capture some memorable pictures and indulge in quality produce, The Big Strawberry is worth a visit.

We found this 'big thing' quite by accident and decided to stop in for lunch and a look around, after photo opportunities in front of the Strawberry we headed inside the restaurant/Cafe. First impressions were wow! This place is absolutely rocking, the dining area is huge and was packed out, we had a browse through their souvenirs section before ordering lunch. TheIr menu was quite large with breakfast options as well as lunch option, plenty of items for the sweet tooth as well.
Price was not to bad, about what I expected really, service was a little slow because they were so busy at the time, we ended up having to sit outside as there was nothing left inside the restaurant. Food was really nice, I had the Smashed Avo with Strawberrys, the missus had the baked spud and my son wanted Strawberry waffles. Very friendly service with a smile.
A lovely day out and they have am indoor play area for small children and a man cave out the back with auto and motorcycle memorabilia, almost like a small museum.

Well worth the stop over if your in the area. Can pick strawberries in summer. Great selection of jams and sauces. They also sell strawberry gelato.
The Caravan of courage — Google review
Fresh, tasty meals. Kids' indoor playground huge and not too noisy when you're sitting outside it either, because it is separately enclosed. Staff friendly and did their best to get orders out to our large group. We didn't have to wait very long for our orders either. Nice coffee.
Clean restrooms with a baby change area, etc.
Enjoyable to browse all the different products on offer in the shop such as jams, sauces and even strawberry-themed merchandise. They also have strawberry gin, strawberry and other fruit liqueurs and other alcoholic beverages for sale, all made by them.
Bit of historical info to learn about if you wished, the site itself being of some historical interest.
It was an interesting place to visit and would go again.

Food has always been prepared freshly, is always delicious and the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. If a mistake has ever occurred it’s been rectified happily.

amazing place to go if your looking for some sweet food infused with strawberries. the pancake works is the best for kids and they even have a massive playground to get the kids out of your hair for a little bit! would recommend this place to anyone i meet!!! there is also a memorial of antique cars and motorbike for all of the car enthusiasts. also there is a opportunity to collect your own strawberries in the right season, your able to take home the strawberries in which you will fall in love with, definitely would recommend checking it out.
paris hayes — Google review
Definitely your typical "tourist" place.
Good for some photos, and great if you want a huge variety of strawberry products (read: alcohol, jams, sauces, candy, etc)... 👍
However if you want to eat, the menu is very limited with average quality, there is a 3% fee to use card payments, (also a 15% mark-up on public holidays), and the (indoor) kids playground is a $7.50 fee???
Yes, there is a small outdoor playground (for free), but surely if people are spending $$$ in the restaurant, it warrants entry to the 'regular' playground.
Sorry, too much profiteering for us to go back or recommend to others.👎

Strawberry was big. As in, to scale with the big banana. Still not entirely sure what we actually ordered, pretty sure we ordered scones that didn't arrive. Coffee was nice and hot. Staff looked looked they loved their job and didn't have anywhere else to be. Overall it was a great drive to get there, Shame about the strawberry.
So bad it was good. Keep up the good work!!

Dropped in for a 'quick' takeaway and 20 minutes later we left with an incredibly overpriced haul - $54 for a small bag of choc strawberrys and 4 milkshakes.
Smoothies tasted like they had no flavour and very few strawberries. Disappointing service complete with an eye roll when i asked for extra topping in the milkshakes - "well that's how we always make it!".
Wont be back.

Breakfast consisted of a generous amount of food on the 'big breakie' the bacon was thick and crispy! The tomato relish and caramelised whiskey onion gave great contrasting flavours to the meal.
And now to the whiskey tasting. There was a great selection of whiskey for. Would highly recommend the Bosque Verde!

What an amazing start to the day! I had booked the Distillery tour for two. Our guide Paul (I hope I got that right) was utterly amazing! He had a passion for his profession and translated it well too my wife and I. From the history of the mill and how the business was started is truly amazing, from walking through the distillery to seeing the product aging to the various samplings, of staple lines and of limited runs we had an absolute ball. We were given a very special pre release from Paul after he'd listened to our ernest input of needing to secure one of the limited barreled whisky's, on his tour. We were so privileged! We bought three bottles, and will make Corowa a staple in our drinks cabinet. But back to the tour! Paul and the staff are bloody awesome!

Table water is provided upon arrival which you don't see a lot of these days either. Food was fast arriving and very very nice, my Nashville Chicken burger had char grilled corn cernals in it which was quite unique, never had that before but was really good.

My grandparents and I went here for a nice coffee on a extremely hot day. I had an almond ice chocolate with cream on top that was $7.50, and a orange and poppyseed cake. The ice chocolate was absolutely amazing, full of rich chocolate, that you could tell was probably made from their own local chocolate, and the ice cream and cream was thick and very high quality. There was a hint of a sort of spice in the ice chocolate, unsure what of, but it gave such a good texture to the ice chocolate. Orange and poppyseed is not my favourite flavour of cake, but this was so light and fluffy, and combined with the delicious icing with orange flakes on top, and the silky cream provided, made it a delicious treat in the mouth. The cake itself was a tiny bit dry, but again, the cream and icing solved that issue. Staff were lovely and inviting, and very accommodating. We sat in the outside area under the shade, and it was lovely. Afterwards, we visited their chocolate shop, and watch a staff member make the chocolate to sell. Overall a lovely experience, and a hot tourist and cafe destination for anyone residing in or passing through Corowa

If you are planning a function, and need a place that ticks all the boxes... this is it.
When you drive in town, look for the silos.. the place is the old mill right next door.
Plenty of off street undercover parking, wheelchair access is a breeze (aside from the function room) and in the toilets, the ladies features a bowl of sanitary items. (That thoughtfull thing is worth five stars alone)

He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and made my family and I feel like we were old friends.
His recommendations were on point and he took the time to explain not only the history behind each wine but also All Saints Estate as a whole.
The only negative I can say about my interaction is that his dad jokes only made me laugh and my dad felt like he had met his match

An amazing place with an amazing vibe. Came here for a wedding. I definitely recommend this place for weddings around 100 people give or take.
So my partner and I arrived about 30 minutes earlier to the posted time of 4pm to the wedding and we were worried we would goto.. say, like the wrong location at the venue.
We saw the entrance and drove in through the gates and was instantly blown away by a 300m straight driveway lined with tall trees forming an arch way right down to the end where you could see... a castle! Okay, not quite a castle but it had the roof shape like one, and the inside was a lot different to that of a castle.
We parked in a nice parking lot and already got a glimpse of what looked equally, if not better then any google photos of the place. So that's the panoramic view of vineyards, a rose garden where the wedding was roctake place, the larger building which boasted large rooms for brewing wine, a cellar door for wine tasting and purchasing their wine, I bought a few bottles for when we returned home.
But what tied all this together was a garden with hedges stone paths and brick pathways and a large fountain, similar to the one in the Friends intro.
We went and purchased wine, and the staff are amazing, kind and helpful. We put the bag of wines in the car then walked to the rose garden for the ceremony. After which we had drinks in the garden and proceeded to the wedding reception located in the larger building.
We were seated at round tables and then went through the night with a 3 course meal. Simply divine, then it was dancing. Then we left.
This place is perfect. You leave feeling like wow, and it makes the best memories one could ever have when reflecting on one's truly best day in their life. A wedding in a perfect location.

Wines Excellent and foods amazing but unfortunately, the employees in the winery need to be retrained.
The location is beautiful, but the staff attitude, especially in the wine tasting room, is abhorrent.
I watched as non coloured individuals were served without an issue. However, in the middle of my tasting I was questioned if I was aware that the tasting needs to be paid for.
When we expressed our interest in purchasing a couple bottles of Moscato, we were asked if we were going to "purchase it just like that". As if we were unaware that we would need to spend money at this venue.
To make this clear, we are people of colour and felt as though we were treated differently because of the way we looked.
I have never felt this racially profiled. We are coming into 2024, and to experience this attitude, it was embarrassing and unacceptable.
Unfortunately, my family and I have decided never to attend this venue again due to our treatment. I hope our review is taken seriously and actioned so that other people who look like us do not have to be treated like we were.
We are coming into 2024. People are people and our money is as good as someone with white skin
Do Better All Saints Estate

I bring regular groups to All saints and since the opening of the new cellar door, Lee and his team have taken the tasting experience to a new level. The wines are quality, prices reasonable for the wine quality and the service is friendly and timely. Highlights for me are the Shiraz Durif, Marsanne and GSM.

Aviation museum featuring a number of historic military craft & regular flying displays.
This museum has been on my bucket list forever! Finally got there a couple of weeks ago. A five star affair, where every aircraft in this museum flies. You've probably seen them in action at various airshows. They have a big warbirds one coming up in October here at Temora. Fingers crossed I can get back down for it.

Great display of ex military aircraft. Great to see them being restored. Only have three stars as woman on front desk rude, didn't even tell us where to go to for display etc. To keen to take our money and get back to her phone call

Temora Aviation Museum is the most impressive aviation museum I have visited. The staff here are welcoming and wonderful. The collection of warbirds is wide-ranging, each of them meticulously maintained and presented. The biggest highlight however, was our tour guide, Malcolm. Malcolm was a breath of fresh air with a deep and profound knowledge of the planes on show and beyond. Malcolm conducts tours every Thursday and I cannot recommend seeking him out, enough. Thank you Malcolm and thank you Temora Aviation Museum for making our experience so brilliant. P.S. Malcolm, the Ryan is for you.

Always a great place to visit.
Even better on showcase days with spectacular flying in some iconic aircraft.
Two flying Spitfires, Hudson, Vampire, Meteor, Dragonfly Tiger Moth, 2 Ryans, Canberra, Cessna O2A, Bird dog, Boomerang and Wirraway!
Some rare aircraft in brilliant condition and people around more than willing to provide any info you need.
Love this place.
Now has 3 flight simulators as well. Spitfire P51 and P40. Well worth a visit.

It was an amasing place and staff that I had never seen before. 🤩
I heard the history of the war. Louis, Yasmine and all the staff were always nice and friendly.
Each plane has a detailed explanation with a video. It was interesting to be able to see an airplane with a history up
I heard the show goes on 16 September, and I'd like to join again.😘😘

Truly a national treasure 🙌
A combination of incredible history through the age of flight, amazing tourism backed by local dedication, and military support in the air and on the ground. When you combine this with Warbirds Australia, you have a seriously impressive experience, which is nestled on the outskirts of a beautiful country town..
This museum is guaranteed to impress, no matter how old or young you are and the kids will love it too. Oh and if you are not the kind to buy souvenirs, good luck with that, there are so many choices.
Absolutely stunning ❤️🍻

We went to the Temora Aviation Museum and were shown through by one of the guides who had great knowledge and interesting stories to tell. The aircraft are very well looked after and the collection is very interesting. Would love to go back for an airshow.
It is a must for any aviation enthusiast.

Went to one of their aviation show days. Happen every few months. As a museum it's very well done. Good explanation panels and planes right up close. On show days plane's are up flying with a terrific MC giving you a running history of the individual plane. The pilots can be quizzed directly after landing. It's great!

Although we arrived at Milawa Cheese Factory a bit late in the day, we still had a delightful experience. While we missed out on some offerings due to timing such a picnic on the grounds, the shop boasted a tempting array of meats, cheeses, and condiments for us to take home. The beautiful day added to the ambiance, making it a worthwhile stop. I highly recommend dropping in when in Milawa.

Fab little bolthole for some unique cheeses! They do tastings...we arrived 20mins before closing and still managed to sample 3. The goat cheese camembert was stand-out...it was excellent warmed in the oven too ! They have a vast array of pickles and preserves to match with your cheeses and it looked like they did a build-your-own picnic for the daytime

Came here as part of the Tour de Vine’s Self-Guided Cycling Tours from Beechworth. They will set up the cheese board for you, which has a great selection of different types of cheeses, crackers & grapes.
There is a wine shop right next door, so you can also do some wine tasting.

We visited again last week on our drive pass. As with our previous visits, it was certainly worth visiting. Lovely range of cheese and local produce. We sampled a few of their goat cheeses before purchasing. Their cafe seem to have had a lovely makeover, beautifully set up, comfortable chairs, excellent tea & coffee. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area 🙂🙂

Absolutely delightful place to have a glass of wine and a delicious cheese platter. Eclectic selection of comfy sofas on a huge patio outside.Nice and dog friendly. Just make sure to hedge your bets on the cheese - not everyone likes all the strong tastes that are on offer :-)
Andreas Ludwig — Google review
The website says it's open until 5, but cheese tasting finishes at 4. We were able to sneak in a very quick tasting when we arrived at 4, but it was disappointingly short.
Much of the cheese we bought was close to the use by date and not as fresh as those we had tasted. This applied to the cheese which had been marked down in price and those of full price.
The duck terrine was dry and didn't taste nice. We threw it out.
This is the second time we have been there and the quality issues were present on both occasions.
However our previous cheese tasting had been a revelation. We took our time truly tasting the differences between each of the different cheeses and learning how to taste properly.

Today I visited to Milawa to go to the aptly named Milawa Cheese Factory. This is a great example as to how you can convert a cheese factory into a successful tourist destination
It has a lovely cafe, a cheese shop where you can sample their wares (the aged blue
vein particularly tickled my palate) and a cellar door offering local wines.
Sadly their cheese platter was far too large for one and would not travel well in a car on a hot day so in this instance I did not buy anything. Certainly a nice place to visit though...
Don Tadixz — Google review
Nice self guided take away cheese tasting platter meant we didn't have to book. And with the large grassed area out the front, we were able to sit and enjoy the cheese in the shade of a tree before going back to buy our favourites.
Winery, cafe and gift shop were all there too so we stayed for lunch and a wine tasting.
A second visit had me trying the guided tasting and another lunch inside the cafe. Warm, great atmosphere, good music played loud enough to hear, but no two loud that you couldn't easily converse. Food was tasty and we headed back to the shop for some of the cheese we had tasted.
What a great winery. The grounds are beautiful. Friendly staff. I enjoyed reading the history about the family. Toilets clean and a lovely restaurant. We camped at their campsite opposite and it was so nice.
Rose-Anne M — Google review
Wine tasting was $5 for 5 wines and there’s no option to taste individual wine before purchase. Beautiful winery grounds with clean toilets but didn’t stay long as the restaurant was fully booked out.
Their bestseller Prosecco are probably cheaper to buy from Dan Murphy’s than the cellar door.

Our visit to Brown Brothers Winery was nothing short of fantastic.
Despite being unable to explore the vineyards, the immaculate estate and sunny weather set a delightful ambiance. We indulged in a wonderful wine tasting experience at the cellars, savoring an exquisite selection of wines.
Although the restaurant was understaffed and unable to accommodate bookings, the service remained commendable, with the waitress candidly informing us of the situation. We still relished in a diverse menu of grazing options, each dish complementing the wines, lemonade, and strong coffee.
The beauty of the estate added to the overall charm, making it a highly recommended destination for a memorable day out with family.

Aahhh Browns Brothers! Our fourth visit and there are still new wines to taste. We booked a wine tasting for $15 each and had 45mins with Rose, our wine consultant, enjoying old favourites and many new ones with explanations of how they were made etc. The children had a lounge to play their Ipads and colour in. All in all, a great way to indulge in some wine tasting! They have something for every palate! The restaurant was fully booked for lunch, so book days in advance, but we had a coffee and the kids played in the enclosed playground. A relaxing afternoon!

REVIEW:
Presentation of Brown Brothers was absolutely stunning. The colours were vibrant to add interest, and definitely made the dishes more enjoyable to eat. If it looks good... there's a high chance it'll taste good!
It did hit the peak for the second entrees. Lots of combinations I don't usually get, and they've incorporated stracciatella in their menu which, in my opinion, is an understated refreshing flavour that is trending in Modern Australian cuisine at the moment. I've liked some of their interesting flavour combinations such as garden radish and the witloof which I've never had this way before!!
Their mains were a little bit of a let down for me. They weren't as excited as the entrees, and they served sous vide chicken which is a personal hate of mine. My friends enjoyed it though for its perfect white meat, but I find all "boiled" chicken bland. Looking @u haianese chicken.
Brown brothers focus on sustainability and reusing their ingredients. Love the stories of how they source local, and commit to minimal waste.
If it's not too out of the way, Brown Browners with their friendly service (and warm heaters!) is decent.

We had lunch at Brown’s Winery yesterday. The food was absolutely amazing.
The waitress introduced herself very professionally with great knowledge and expertise.
The food was a fantasy of flavours. Every dish was superb and beautifully presented. The tart was exquisitely delicate and fine. I don’t know how the chef did it.. I wanted to pair the wine so the waitress explained the wines and suggested the most appropriate. A sensational eating feast of delicious, fresh, sustainable vegetables and herbs grown in Brown’s garden, along with quail, chicken, beef etc cooked in a way I haven’t experienced before. Best lunch I have ever had, so I don’t need to travel to Melbourne to find really delicious food! It is found at Brown’s Winery. .
A truly memorable day. Thanks to the chef and waitress.

Just experienced my first wine tasting ever, and couldn’t have picked a better winery than Brown Brothers! My partner & I did the premium wine tasting and enjoyed a vast variety of wines, served to us by Mark.
Mark had a great amount of knowledge and shared with us the history and culture of each wine we tried. We could not have had better service, thanks Mark! (I told myself I’d only buy 2 wines, but I left with 4!!)
Thank you Brown Brothers! I can’t wait to come again 🍷

Drove up especially to try the set lunch menu and absolutely loved it!
Took the pups for a lazy day out and they enjoyed the grass area. This place is a well set up place catering families with a playground, picnic blankets and beanbag style seats.
11 dishes washed down with an estate Chardonnay was spot on. Great knowledgeable staff and a vibrant atmosphere.
The house made olive oil is out of this world.

As part of our weekend away we managed to do a pit stop at Brown Brothers, the rain didn’t stop us.. immersed in their wonderful wines and jams we had to buy a few more and enjoy the experience.
Some of our favourites were the Prosecco; Moscato; and various red wines.. We couldn’t resist the Prosecco; Cienna and Mascato jams (yum, they go great with our scones). The group stocked up on wines and jams as part of our stop and we’re looking forward to being back next year to enjoy the menu presented at the restaurant.
Staff were extremely friendly, heart warming and knowledgeable. Such a wonderful team out there who welcomed us with high spirits.

I love an experience where you try one dish and it’s delicious. Then try another and it’s also amazing. And the third is also delicious and you then you can’t pick your favourite. This was the great start to the menu at Brown Brothers. The venue has well spaced tables and floor to ceiling glass windows which allow you to sip and eat while surrounded by the green trees. This was perfectly matched by the service by Jason and Alex. I was surprised when given the set menu that it wasn’t chose one dish from each section - you get all the dishes! And all for $80. Incredible value. Each dish is locally sourced perfectly paired with a Brown Brothers wine. It’s become my favorite regional Victorian restaurant.

We love this winery. The wine is great. Wide selection of Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cab Sav and loads more. The food is really good, and there’s a nice little playground for younger children. We were there midweek today and it was pretty quiet. We’ve been there before on busy days and it’s still pretty good because there’s loads of space. Also, their fortified wines are amazing.

We stayed at the campground across the road, which is: so handy to all the milawa gourmet area has to offer, esp if he Brown Bros winery 👌🏼. The grounds are beautiful with lots of seating in the sun or shade on their manicured grass. We went in for a tasting & discovered delicious wines that aren’t on their tasting list, THANKS TO RUSSELL, who is super friendly & and font of knowledge! Being a sweet wine drinker, Russell introduced me to the strawberries & cream, raspberry & white chocolate, hot cross buns & moscato gold varieties. Delicious 👌🏼. Woolshed Falls is a popular tourist attraction that offers stunning scenery and a viewing deck for visitors to enjoy. After heavy rainfall, the waterfall area becomes even more picturesque. The site includes a picnic area, ample parking, and nearby bush tracks for exploration. For those who are steady on their feet, it's possible to walk down onto the rock formation near the waterfall face. Visitors can swim or shower in the falls but should be cautious during hot summer days as temperatures can rise quickly.
This place was fantastic! Stunning scenery, easy access for all abilities to the top viewing platform. An easy walk down onto rock formation for anyone steady on their feet. Was lovely to sit around or explore the rock formations on the waterfall face. Absolutely gorgeous was to while away the hours on a sunny day.

First track to the left as you're heading down Woolshed Rd. You will either have to walk it, 4x4 or bike it. It takes you to the top of the falls. You can't get to it from the other side. Great place to do nothing or walk the rocks.

It's a very short walk.
Just be careful whilst walking on wet rocks, they can be slippery because of the musk.

Really easy waterfall lookout to go to as the platform is right next to the carpark. Then you can go to the top of the waterfall too, just go down the track which is not difficult at all but not accessible for wheelchairs. Wear proper hiking shoes as a caution so you can explore the top of the waterfall safely. Went when it was absolutely pumping. Probably one of the best waterfalls in this area of the state!

Woolshed Falls - So beautiful 🤩
Woolshed Falls is a stunning natural attraction located in the heart of Victoria, Australia. As soon as you arrive, you will be struck by the sheer beauty of the area, with its pristine waterfalls cascading over the rocky terrain. The sound of the water is soothing and the air is fresh and invigorating.
The walk to the falls is well-marked and relatively easy, with a clearly defined path that winds its way through the lush bushland. Along the way, you will see a variety of native flora and fauna, including kangaroos and wallabies.
When you arrive at the falls themselves, the view is simply breathtaking. The water cascades down a series of rocky steps, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's power and beauty. The surrounding cliffs and lush vegetation only add to the overall ambiance of the area.
One of the best things about Woolshed Falls is that it is relatively quiet and peaceful, with few tourists around. This means that you can enjoy the beauty of the area at your own pace, without feeling rushed or crowded.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Woolshed Falls to anyone who loves nature and outdoor activities. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply looking for a relaxing day out in nature, this beautiful attraction is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Absolutely beautiful experience. There was about 10 people there all spaced out, so it wasn't too crowded, which made the experience pleasant. We visited the Falls first, and the water was cold and beautiful, and even had a large pond for kids to play in. Afterwards, we went to the viewing point looking down at the Falls, which was also beautiful to look at, with information about the history of the Falls which was pleasant to read and learn about. Always a stopping point for us when we are passing through the area!

Visiting a few days after some reasonable rain in early summer there was plenty of water flowing, and pleasant to explore amongst the rocks, though they were slippery in parts.

A mighty popular spot with many flocking to the upper falls for a swim in the streams that make up the falls. Mighty big plummet if you get too close to the falls itself. Surprisingly, no real warning signs to speak of so be sure to pack your common sense if you decide to picnic there

Water begins at the top and makes its way to the bottom.
My theory is that gravity plays some role in this process.
Others believe it is a magical phenomenon. Who knows!
All I can say is that it would make for a great place to cool down on a toasty day and even on this cooler day was a nice place to visit.

Woolshed Falls Road, Beechworth VIC, Australia
I'll never travel to Canberra without this trip planner again
Beechworth Historic Court House, situated on Ford Street, is an integral part of the Justice Precinct. Dating back to 1858, this impressive building complex was constructed with local honey-colored granite and includes several historic structures such as the former Telegraph Office, Police Station, Chinese Protectors Office, and Gold Wardens Office. Today, it stands as a museum showcasing Beechworth's rich history including its involvement in gold mining and World War II.
Tours run on the hour, highly recommend seeing the new Kelly Trials exhibit. Afterwards you can tour the courthouse and view the objects they have on display

Dan B — Google review
If you want experience the deeper history of Beechworth, then the Court house is a great place to start. Beechworth has an amazing number of little places you can take the kids or yourself to go and have a visit to learn about Beechworth.
The court House is of course famous for its association with Ned Kelly, but it also is an amazing place to come and see a historic building, built in 1958 and was a working courthouse right up to 1989, this courthouse has been an interesting and integral part of the community just as much as the Beechworth Goal Has.
I love how you can almost access nearly every room of the courthouse minus the lady's balcony and a storeroom. But the Library happened to be our favourite room, it was filled with old law books and just had that nostalgic feel about it, the kids loved the library and the holding cells.
(They used to have an audio spill that used to play but that feature was not there anymore. It did make for a great way to experience the court room.)
The kids love being able to explore and sit where the judge and lawyers would sit and they did a little court play of their own. It was cheap to get in costing us a family of 6 $10. you could pay a bit extra for a guided tour which would probably have been great. There were souvenirs you could purchase for reasonable prices.
Accessibility: The courthouse is wheelchair friendly, and you can access most of the courthouse bar the cells I believe. The staff are welcoming and encourage all to come and take part in the history of Beechworth. Great place for kids and anyone to come and visit.

One of the oldest well kept historic courthouses in Australia where Ned Kelly was trialled. Beautifully kept and interesting historic facts as you travel around the inside of the court house. Well worth a visit and just a few dollars for entry

Nice and informative with so many preserved gems! Not the best for younger kids or people not too interested in the Ned Kelly story, but if you’re game you’re going to absolutely love it!
Millie Williams — Google review
This place is fantastic! Cheap to visit. The court house is in original condition as it was on the last day is was used. Lots of interesting information to read. Ned Kellys trial began here in August 1880 before it was transferred to Melbourne. Don’t forget to go around the rear of the building where one of the old stable buildings still stand. Also the old stone lock up with would be terrible to be locked up in. The whole area is so interesting and next door is the telegraph office to visit as well.

The Courthouse is a part of Beechworth historic precinct alongside other historic buildings. It was built in 1858 and has seen many historic court hearing’s including Ned Kelly, his Mum Ellen Kelly and Elizabeth Scott and ran for 131 years. It’s very well preserved and has lots of interesting information to read and absorb. Definitely worth a visit if you are in or around Beechworth.

Fabulous old buildings in the main street opposite the Information Centre. There is a walk that you can do. Just ask in the Info Centre. These buildings all have great signs out front with info on what they were. They are all well preserved. One of the best historical streets that we have been to. This is where Ned Kelly had his first trial. Do visit the Information Centre across the road and the Bourke Museum behind the Info Centre. Beechworth is one of the best historical towns that we have visited.

am assuming due to couple of luxury hotels the beach has been really well maintained. Which is a really good point. I don't remember spending almost the entire day at any other beach but this. A beach worth visiting and spending time. Take a nice dip in the Arabian Sea. lie down on the beach get sun bathed and have yummy food on the shacks there.
p.s Our favourite shack was "Gloria". Mr Satish was a polite and very helpful host. Tried the others as well (Misha and Amish) but we found this the best. Gloria shack is between Misha and Amish, close to the beach opening of Mahindra Club.

Formal gardens containing a wealth of native & exotic plantlife & a small-scale railway.
Loved the Zoo within the gardens, entry was free, but a gold coin donation is appreciated. Playground for the kids, train and pony rides and a cafe. Worth a visit.

Stopped in Wagga 2 weeks ago. Had a look around & stumbled across the Botanic Gardens & zoo. A great place to spend a morning. The free flight aviary is absolutely amazing. Well done Wagga! The gardens were lovely too.

This is the second time I have visited the Botanic garden with my godson a soldier at Kapooka, the first being in June 2022 and this visit in May 2023. It is a very well laid out garden. I was particularly interested in the display of local flora. This time we concentrated on the fauna. It was interesting to see dingos close up. The deciduous trees looked splendid in their bright autumn colours.

The playgrounds are great and kids love playing on them they have BBQ plates next to them they work most the time so great place for family's. And it has a fitness track great for jogging with chin up and dip bars. And the scenery is beautiful and well maintained. Honestly if I could go to only one place in Wagga this would be the place besides my couch

Visited today with my two small children, lots has changed since our last visit. Lots of renovations, some new animals and by the looks of it more is happening. The kids enjoyed themselves and had a great time at one of the many play area's. It really is a beautiful place you could spend most of the day here.

A must visit place if passing by Wagga Wagga as a traveller or just as a local. The garden is flawlessly beautiful with lots of flowers and little attractions. It has access to public toilets and ample parking space on flexible pavement strip built closer to the road. There is a train ride journey one can enjoy imitating the real railways (popular among kids) that works once or twice a month on the weekend only. The toy train is run by the volunteers of Wagga Wagga society of model engineers(WWSME). The toy train is called Willians hill miniature railway.

Having grown up in Wagga and having spent many happy times in these gardens it was a pleasure to visit again today. It is the perfect place for a picnic. However, the Garden Cafe serves excellent "All day breakfast" and lunch - reasonably priced. Lovely playground for little ones. A free, mostly Australian animals and birds, Zoo and a great adventure playground. Chinese garden, succulent garden, rose garden and a model railway. The perfect place for a day out with the family.

I had a wonderful visit to the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens in the heart of the city. The garden's beauty and tranquility were truly impressive. I was captivated by the diverse collection of plants, well-maintained pathways, and the serene lake. It's a perfect place to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy a leisurely stroll. The staff was friendly, and the educational aspects added to the experience. Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful escape within the city.

Wonderful public parklands with several separate children's playgrounds, zoo and avery, cafe, pump track, and miniature train. The train runs the first and third Sunday of the month and costs $4 per person. You must wear enclosed shoes. I've seen people take the dogs on the train too. The cafe has great gelato. The zoo has dingos and other Australian animals. The Avery has a free flight area with a fish pond. Lots of fun for the entire family.
An old flour mill that has renovated to a high standard and would be fantastic for engagement or wedding venue. Great watching how they make the yummy chocolate and licorice. Staff also very friendly and helpful. We didn't get to eat there but would really like to next time we visit there.

The grounds are beautiful to look at, and sit in. The staff very friendly. The food in the restaurant part was very disappointing, couldn't order from the menu, only could order pizzas today, and they weren't very nice, we couldn't eat them, we tried, but felt sick after.
The gift shop upstairs had a nice range of local and non local wares.
The chocolate factory, u could see them making it through the windows, and you could make yr own chocolate too for a price, then you could go to the chocolate and licorice shop and buy some goodies to take home.
Outside they had a big shed that was full of vintage automobiles, for a gold coin entrance.

Took the opportunity to have lunch here while in the area. Great to see they were dog friendly in the outdoor eating area.
The menu has changed since last here with some interesting new additions.
The staff are super friendly and accommodating to requests.
Lunch we tried the the Vegemite croquettes, an acquired taste I think, not for us.
Steak sandwich and the squid tacos were delicious.

If you are passing through Junee make sure you stop at the chocolate factory here for some delicious chocolates which will not disappoint you. I know I enjoyed the chocolate coated nuts 😁. But overall this place is great whether you want to just look how they make things, to stopping and enjoying their cafe to just buying chocolates. Visited over the Easter weekend and it was quite busy. We didn’t do the tour, or eat at the restaurant, but food looked and smelt great. Got a coffee and dessert from the cafe which were both fantastic. Also loved the liquorice store and wish I stocked up on the raspberry bullets! YUM!
Would love to come back and try the food. Very nice atmosphere. Be mindful of the vehicle you drive in, as it’s loose gravel. Also found this cute friendly dog wondering around outside 🥰

I really loved this place. It was our destination for our weekend trip to Junee and I travelled with my wife, kids and parents-in-law. We visited Saturday and while there were no scheduled tours, we asked and the lovely staff organised on for us and a few other families. The lady giving the tour, Katrina, was excellent and taught us a lot about how the products were made. We had fun too with the vertical bowling too and my son was delighted to win a prize. Lovely gift shops and cafes very reasonably priced. The coffee and hot chocolates were the best we had in town, we were back Sunday morning for another round! Definitely worth a visit.

Tours are run daily at 10:30am and 1:30pm so unfortunately we missed the tour however we were able to walk around and have a look through the windows at some of the production. Upstairs is a gift shop with a range of different items not related to the licorice and chocolate factory. For $5 you can make your very own big chocolate freckle in the freckle hut. There are several places to sit and enjoy some food. The hot chocolate’s are delicious.
Jo Seaby — Google review
Unfortunately no chocolate was being made the day we visited but despite that the building was beautiful to look around. The gift shop was pretty but honestly had very little amount of items related to the chocolate shop, to me it seemed very sporadic. The licorice shop smelt amazing, and the staff were lovely. Beautiful gardens as well. There is very little storage and unfortunately the building seemed more like a storage place, than a building where chocolate is made, as well as a cafe etc. There were cardboard boxes everywhere, plastic crates and a random ratty old computer chair. All in all it was a beautiful building to visit & the licorice is delicious.

Lovely space to visit! Super different from when I was a kid and I must say, I’m a huge fan of the changes. I love that you can view how everything is made without paying. The Albury Botanic Gardens, established in 1877, span across a vast area of 9.9 acres and boast an extensive collection of native and exotic plants. It also features a remarkable children's garden that is sure to impress the young ones. The gardens' circular walk provides easy access for everyone. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of their BBQ areas and picnic benches while enjoying the tranquil surroundings.
These gardens were really amazing, and although relatively small, they had so many different areas and a very impressive children's garden. The circular walk was lovely and was very accessible for everyone. Definitely worth visiting with small children, and there were toilets, BBQ areas and picnic benches within.

One of the best botanic gardens I have been into.
Although the size is relatively small as compared to others, but they successfully managed to design it very well, invested in many plants as you walk in. Good on you.
The only thing I would suggest is to renovate the old toilet facilities at the main entrance.

What an awesome experience. If you haven't been here, you should. The presenters were awesome people and the house is amazing to explore. Loved it. What a place and a story. We got to meet Olive and she signed the book my wife bought. We would love to do the full night time guided tours with over night stay that they offer but, unfortunately they are booked out until late May, so if you want to do this book now.
But the homestead and the ground are worth a walk around to take in the story.
Thanks Olive.

The house is beautiful in terms of its architecture and for the rooms (8 in total that were open for viewing) that were furnished and kept clean. However this is not a historic haunted house, they have rather made it a dirty old rundown place with weeds, termite infestation, spiders and wasps making nests wherever you see outside of these 8 rooms. Part of the house is closed due to being in tatters. The outhouses were some of the most crazily dirty rooms I have ever seen in Australia. The owners are lazy and do not believe in cleaning and mopping the place.
Laden with cobwebs and insects of all varieties it was a nightmare to see this place and felt really sad for how they are treating such a historic house. All it takes is a mop and bucket to clean and I can't believe they can't afford it!!!
Nothing haunting abt the house except the tacky mannequins unnecessarily added to the house making it haloweenish while it doesn't need it.
A sincere request :- CLEAN UP!!!

Amazing. Loved the vibe. Loved the energy. Loved chatting to the owners. What a memorable experience. While it may be Australia's most haunted homestead, I felt completely at home playing with the spirits. Saw things move. Saw orbs. Heard voices and my daughter felt her head being touched... maybe it was a spider web. Creepy but fun.

The owners of this Homestead have done an amazing job of curating quite a collection of antiques and objects. Whilst we didnt see or hear a ghost during our visit, the ambience is definately quite unusual. We went during the day, I can imagine it would be atmospheric at night! The owner gave a talk when we purchased our tickets and entered the grounds, he provided us with a map which detailed the main house and surrounding grounds. Very interesting!

Great experience at the Monte Cristo homestead after wanting to visit since I was ten years old. I would love to go back and stay overnight sometime too but for now it was just a stop over on our way home.
We explored the home and it was super cold in the servants quarters as well as the old cart stables. We got one live picture of a few orbs floating around which was weird and cool.

We stopped here for lunch at the Holbrook bakery. Fantastic baked goods and delicious coffee, a must-visit for a snack.
The Oberon class submarine is a fantastic place to learn about Australian and British naval history. Take a photo with the huge half-submerged submarine in the park.
After this, you must visit the museum/visitors centre to take a walk through time. Stick around and watch the holographic history lesson in the centre's theatre.
As of 08/03/22, the cost for an adult ticket to the museum is $7. Well worth it.

Interesting and educational on the history of submarines, inside the museum there is a section of a submarine where you step inside and feel what it is like to sleep and work in a confine area, there is also a working periscope you can operate, respectable price $5 concession, staff are helpful and courteous, highly recommend this museum

One of the must do stopover when driving between Melbourne and Sydney/Canberra.
I know its weired to imagine a submarine displayed inland but hey the name of this town was changed to honour decorated WW1 hero Lt Norman Douglas Holbrook who captained the unsinkable terror (submarine HMS B11).
The submarine displayed is the hull of real HMS B11 submarine and you can see the sheer size of it.
The museum is great as it offers a great insight into the life of the mariners in submarine. There are 6 displays to showcase various sections of the submarine.
They have a good 3d holographic story narration for the curious minds that takes you through the achivements of HMS B11.

Our lovely Chinese Gardens are a must see when you visit Young. A lovely area for family picnics and BBQ (provided by the Council). The gardens are Chinese inspired. The pagoda, which has a lovely view over the water, has recently been renovated, the perfect place for quiet contemplation. A path winds around the lake with viewing areas at different intervals. The pathway is lined by rocks and attractive plants. Autumn colours dominate at this time of year. The waterfall and water wheel provide relaxing water music. Ducks, wading birds and swans paddle on the lakes. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Beautiful any time of day.

Fantastic van park the place is in immaculate condition so clean and we'll maintained. One of the few parks that is pet friendly added to all this is it's terrific location right in town.

Staff were wonderful and informative, little souvenirs well priced and the Holographic show about the history of the camp was the highlight. Well made and easy to watch. #getChrisToCowra
Lush Japanese garden with streams & ponds, plus exhibits, annual events & a cafe with patio seating.
I wish I had visited the gardens a lot sooner instead of just driving through Cowra. It is a healthy walk around the grounds which are immaculate, and there are golf carts for hire for those who need them.
The staff are friendly, the walking paths don't have cracks or unevenness, the elevation change gives fantastic views, and the river, lake and waterfalls are tranquil. Take a picnic and relax on the ample grassed areas.
The grounds are quite open, so be careful on really hot days as you'll be in the sun a bit.

Absolutely beautiful! Even on winter, it was still colourful. Such well maintained grounds, and incredible plants. Love how there is a list of plants and numbers on the plants to tell you what they are. The view is incredible and the artefact exhibit is fantastic. Allow a couple of hours to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Don't miss it if you are in Cowra!

I was amazed by the history of the garden, the garden was very beautiful and it was well taken care. My favourite was bonsai and those fishes Nd ducks, feeding them was satisfying. Upabove the garden, the environment and atmosphere was serene. The cultural heritage gallery was one way to know the history of the garden. Really beautiful and awesome.

There just aren't enough stars.
The gardens are exceptionally well kept and there are hidden vistas around most corners.
Wonderful exhibitions, gift shop and manicured lawns and shrubs.
The gardens are just beautiful.
Unfortunately we left the cafe until after we had seen the gardens. It was supposedly closed for a function but not all the inside tables, or any of the outside tables, were set up. Even so, no room for two people who just wanted a cuppa and a treat.
Maybe next time some signs telling other patrons that the cafe will be closed might be insightful.
The cafe non-experience didn't detract from the gardens.
One piece of advice. Two bags of duck/fish food won't be enough!

On arrival, the team member in reception was lovely. The gardens were fantastic on generally a gentle undulating hill. The stroll through them was relaxing and peaceful with many photo opportunities. Although this was purely a sightseeing visit, as a Marriage Celebrant, there are some beautiful places here a couple could choose for their wedding ceremony. Checking out the various Bonsai was interesting and the variety of wild Australian native birds were gorgeous.

A picturesque and beautiful place to go to. Staffs at the entrance/souvenir shop are so lovely. The garden is so clean and serene. Everywhere I look at, I am just like "WOW". It's just so wonderful. You better check this out. They also have cafe inside to relax.

Beautifully landscaped gardens and wonderful rich history at Cowra Japanese Gardens. Not overrun by visitors either even though we visited on a busy public holiday. Would recommend a detour to anyone considering a visit.

Truly unbelievable! We spent hours here walking around and taking in all of the intricate details. I think I could have spent several more and still not seen my fill. It was beautiful in Summer, I’d love to see it in Spring. It’s dog-friendly and has a reasonably priced admission fee. An absolute must visit.

We made the decision to detour via Cowra to specifically see this garden. We were not disappointed. This garden is stunning. It is set over quite a few acres and is beautifully set out and manicured. Very reasonable entry fee. It is also worthwhile to visit the site of the prison camp and the war cemetery to complete the story behind the garden.

Fascinating and beautiful not to mention pristine. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit although being in a wheelchair the undulating footpaths and bridges gave my carer quite the workout. Lol
However they did offer companion card access which was nice. Particularly educational museum, handy car park and convenient caffe.
Fully recommend! 👍☺️

A beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The gardens are astounding and well kept. And the story behind the gardens themselves is interesting as well. We had a Japanese POW camp here at Cowra, and there was a break out of the prisoners, during the escape and the search, 200ods Japanese and three Australians were killed.
Though they were enemy combatants the locals buried them with great respect and honor. After the war this became a Japanese war cemetery and made inroads to a fellowship with the Japanese people.in the seventies Ken Nakijima a landscape architect designed the gardens and with help build and planted the place. After his death, his ashes were even interred here.

If you like Japanese style gardens, you will love these. They rival some in Japan, I've been a lover of Japanese gardens since visiting Japan in 1975. These gardens are stunning and beautifully designed. We intend coming back this way on our way home to visit again. Can't recommend them more highly. We also had lunch at the gardens Cafe and it was pretty good too. The best chips we've had in ages and a delicious quiche, cab thoroughly recommend the Cafe as well. And by the way the meals are very, very generous, we shared the quiche dish and it was plenty for lunch. All up a fantastic place to visit. Just do it.

We were driving through Cowra and decided to drop in and see these gardens and I must admit they are beautiful and well set out and maintained and there is also a cafe here where you can sit and eat and also some tourist items on sale here. There is an entry fee here as well. See my YouTube The Travelling Social Worker in Thailand for my walk through these gardens

Beautiful and well maintained park. Feeding koi and ducks (and ducklings) are fun for kids and adults. Feeding food is at $2 per bag. Flowers and all plants are beautiful. The view from the lookout point is awesome. If the weather was better, I'm sure it'd be even more stunning view. We came when it's raining and they provided umbrellas for free to use for strolling in the park.
Walking path is easy for young adults and kids, perhaps some elderly who has trouble walking might find it a bit challenging to go up to the lookout point.

A beautiful and tranquil garden that is a must visit on a trip to Cowra. Lovely stream all the way through the gardens and lots of wildlife to see.
I was lucky enough to visit when there were ducklings and chicks around. It was great for wildlife and still life photography. I could have easily spent a while day wandering around these gardens.
There is also a bonsai house with lots of bonsai tress that are many years old. This was a peaceful area and lovely to see.
There's a cafe on site, quite expensive but lovely cake and tea. The gift shop offers some unique gifts as well that are from Japan.

Absolutely beautiful! We visited early on a day that was forecast to be 40 degrees yet the grounds felt lovely and cool. We ate at the cafe which was delicious and marveled at the waterfalls, the ducks and Koi, the architecture is so well designed. The bonsai were magnificient and it was nice to cool down inside afterwards touring the artworks and the zen garden. You can finish in the gift shop which has some unusual items for sale. This is definately worth a visit. Opposite the car park is a sculpture garden and place for the kids to run around before taking off on another driving adventure.

Well worth the visit. Beautiful, tranquil gardens. Kept in pristine condition. Smooth walking paths, with some managable hills and slopes for those a little walking challenged. The most beautiful parts are all accessible. Bench seating for little breaks or to take in the beautiful surrounds. We weren't there for the cherry blossom, but the Crepe Murtel was a picture.

These gardens are absolutely stunning, the best Japanese garden I have seen in Australia. Before or after strolling around the gardens you can enjoy great food and beverages from the cafe onsite. Take your time as you will take so many photos, everywhere you turn there is another impressive view to capture.
Depicting a famous 1850s bush ballad, this monument shows a dog guarding his owner's tuckerbox.
A great place to stop and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There are tables to sit and eat or just sit and relax for a bit after taking a break from long drive. The souvenir store is great, with many awesome products, from fridge magnets, crafts to boutique alcoholic beverages. There is also a Cafe there to enjoy a coffee too. Highly recommend this place, when you are on a road trip to stop by. 👍🙂

A nice place to stop either direction during daytime. Little cafe serves nice coffee and fresh sandwiches, the kitchen is closed as well as selling local produce and trinkets. Friendly service from owner, support local small businesses as still struggling after covid.
Grass to lay down on and relax, or table and benches scattered about.

Such a lovely historical spot to visit. I noticed the old statue to the side, and the new monument has a water fountain around it. Wanted to recreate a photo I took there of a child but couldn't as the old monument no longer has the dog on it and it's been moved onto a larger monument and is surrounded by water.
Beautiful backdrop and location.

I saw The Dog on the Tuckerbox in the 1980's sometime when driving from Adelaide to Sydney. I think it was in a bit more of a bush setting then. However Australia has changed a lot since then and progress we have. I loved it then and I think it is what we need now, so l believe it has been done well . It is such an Australian icon, and a must see for visitors passing through.

If needing a rest or a top up of something to eat aswell as a quick look around travelling along the Hume is worth a visit
Darren Borg — Google review
It's an icon because of our Australian history. Some history is presented at the site. There's a dog on the Tucker box statue to take photos of and one for your own dog should you be so inclined. Nice between grass. Some toilets. A bit of dirt to park on which can be unpleasant if the wind gets up. A souvenir shop. Fork and did in in the area. If you've never been it's worth a stop but I would not go to too much trouble. Certainly better than it was 20 years ago.

This nostalgia and old bush ballad make this place a nice way to breakup your road trip. There are both Tesla and Chargefox chargers nearby and plenty of fast and not so fast food options within 2min walk of monument. The views of surrounding hills and idealic landscape vista are a great way to calm the mind.

The iconic Dog on the Tucker Box. My second visit, the first being 25 years ago. It's still the same. I love the merry history surrounding it and the numerous poems and songs it is included in. It sits at Five Mile Creek, 5 miles (north) from Gundagai.
There is a mock tuckerbox you can sit your dog on to take a photo.
Lots of parking and easy pull out back onto the highway. There is a turn zone in the middle of the highway, so pull in and out possible in either direction (we had caravan in tow :-)

Please share some love for the ladies at the Dog on the tuckerbox shop.
They were broken into at about 3am this morning (18/10/2023).
I was looking forward to visiting this shop to buy some presents.
But, it only takes a few to ruin it for the many.
I hope the Police catch the little mongrels who did this.
If you are passing through Gundagai, NSW please just call in and say hi to the ladies who run the place.

Dog on a Tucker Box Gundagai area is an interesting place with a couple of historical Homestead ruins and a couple of old horse draw wagons also so here!
As you turn off the Hume highway near the petrol station, the small road heading to the Tuckerbox, there's road works being done at the moment being (February 2024)...
Unfortunately for us the souvenir / gift store was closed and also I will add there is some tables seating area if you need a rest from driving...
This part below is a copy from the sign in front of the dog statue of most part:
Dog on the Tuckerbox memorial is supposedly based on an
incident that occurred to a teamster named Bill the Bullock on the road to Gundagai in the 1850s. While leading his bullocks team and wagon across a creek five or nine miles from Gundagai,
Bill's wagon became hopelessly bogged in the creek, trying to drag the wagon out of the bog one of his bullocks and then broke the wagon's yoke.
Thereupon, Bill gave up the job and went to have his lunch...
But here, to top off his run of bad luck, he found his dog sitting - or worse - on his tuckerbox...The other bullockies thought the incident a great joke, and one of them supposeally wrote a poem
about it.

Stopped on way back from Albury NSW, a great stop to see and take a break. Brought back memories from when I was a kid, and our caravan trip, back in the late 50s early 60s with Mum, Dad and Sister. You can pull off and get back on highway with no trouble, and the area is big and plenty of room to unwind. There is food, and the little store has different nik naks to buy. Also an antique shop for a look around, not sure if connected to the store with the food. The second photo taken from ladies, so had to take photo, interesting info, gave me laugh. Iconic tourist attraction, worth the stop.

Loved the experience.. If ever one wants to start appreciating the minute details of limestone caves and the various geological formations (surprise surprise - there are more than 2!!), Geoff is your guy to learn it from. Stupendous guide, who enriches your tour experience by a thousand times! Highly recommended, for everyone.. Oh, and the location is also beautiful!
Pratyush Sahay — Google review
My family and I have twice visited these caves. Although they are small, they provide one of the best learning experiences of any cave system I have visited in both Australia and South Africa. That's because Geoff takes his time to explain to his customers what they are about to see in the cave, and how to have the best experience once inside the cave.
I really like how children (and adults) can touch the different rock specimens and taste the water, in addition to exploring in a relatively safe environment. Once they leave the caves they have a firm impression of how valuable and precious caves are.
Geoff is an excellent presenter and adds a bit of humour, but also drama to the occasion - like switching off the lights, and making us aware of how our eyes adapt to the dark.
One of the best features of the cave is that you get to sit down, which means that the caves are brilliantly accessible to less mobile people, including people with disabilities.
Geoff was particularly patient and kind to my adult son who has multiple sclerosis, giving him time to reach the caves and to fully participate in the experience.
The excursion is well-priced.
The information Geoff provides to his customers before they arrive at the caves is extremely helpful as the location is isolated and there are facts one should know before making the trip.
The approach to the caves is breathtaking and makes the long journey worthwhile.
A great initiative, and one which we all thoroughly enjoyed!
I classify this experience as educational. However, if you are a thrill-seeker you need to visit any of the larger, more challenging caves Australia has to offer.

The cave was beautiful and it was amazing to look around. The tour guide was knowledgeable and passed on some great, and interesting information. The reason for the lower score is because of how chauvinistic he was. There were sooo many sexist jokes and he was quite condescending - while I’m sure it was intended harmlessly, it’s 2021 and I expected better. At the beginning one of the participants decided she was not comfortable going down through the steep, narrow entry and, although she said had paid and made it clear she would not be seeking a refund but was terribly scared so wouldn’t go, he pressured her for a good 15 mins while we all sat at the bottom waiting for him to stop badgering her. She was audibly upset. When he finally came down he said “usually I can get women to do what I want, but the charm didn’t work this time”. 🙄🙄🙄

Worth a visit. Not so commercialised as some of the more well known caves. Guide was knowledgable but not too flash with his time keeping. I wouldn't go with a young family as the tour was way too long.

The caves were beautiful and worth seeing. Unfortunately the guide talked to us for an hour prior to going in and then we were seated for 40 min inside the cave prior to being able to look around. The guide was very knowledgeable, however did not "read" the room and was purely focused on delivering the information that he wanted rather than being guided by customers. The experience was only advertised as an hour and it threw out our day and other people's completely out. He became very difficult when we said that we needed to leave and was extremely controlling! Such a shame as the cave is beautiful. Toilets were not working either and clearly had not been for some time.

I recently did a tour with my family. I was expecting that there might be one or two small underground caves and I would have been impressed with that. However, there is a HUGE network of caves and they are STUNNING. The tour guide, Geoff, is very knowledgeable and personable and ran the tour in a way that really made you pay attention to and appreciate the amazing formations. The whole experience went for about 2.5 hours and there was plenty of time to enjoy the caves. Excellent value. Family friendly. Highly recommend.

This 2,228-m. peak in Kosciuszko National Park is the highest mountain in Australia.
It’s almost like taking a pilgrimage to the top of Australia. The scenery is splendid. Well worth the walk to and from the summit.

Mount Kosciuszko - the highest peak in the land part of Australia, sometimes given as the highest peak in Australia and Oceania, although in the classification of this part of the world it is outside the top ten. It is located in New South Wales, in the Kosciuszko National Park, in the Snowy Mountains in the band of the Australian Alps.
Track to the mountains is not very difficult but all track is 6 hour, 4 hours up, 2 go down. Be careful with the snow next to the peak and wear good shoes.

My trek to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko was an incredible adventure! Despite encountering rough weather conditions at the top, the experience was absolutely worth it. The stunning landscapes, well-marked trails, and diverse flora and fauna made the journey unforgettable. Be prepared for the unpredictable weather, but the sense of accomplishment and the breathtaking panoramic views from the summit make it all worthwhile. Australia’s highest point, situated between Melbourne and Sydney, is no small peak at 7,310 feet (2,288m) high. There are two main routes you can take to the summit: start at Thredbo ski resort for an eight-mile (13 km) jaunt or from Charlotte Pass for a longer 11.6mile (18.7km) hike. To avoid snow, go in December through to March. The Thredbo route will carry you above Lake Cootapatamba, Australia’s highest lake, and you can hitch a ride in the cable car if your feet are tired. Opt for the Charlotte Pass route and your exertions will be rewarded with alpine wildflowers aplenty. Easy-breezy boardwalks and paved paths take you to the very top, where you can gaze at neighbouring Mount Townsend – only 60 feet (18m) shorter than the one you’re standing on.

I came up here on what was likely one of the worst days to climb. Wind was measured by the Parks staff at 80km/hr, there was rain, and I did not come prepared whatsoever. Who can really, for that weather?
It's not a hard climb to be honest if you take the chairlift from Thredbo, weather permitting. With the wind and rain we had to really motivate ourselves. We were freezing and my 7yo got blown off the raised metal track and few times. It took around 4 hours for us to go up to the summit and back but I could do it alone in good weather much, much faster. The track does have signs asking people not to run though. There's great views from the top. You can come from a few different approaches, not just Thredbo.
There's no water on the walk, no protection from the elements. A toilet is about 4.5km's in, if coming from Thredbo. It's very nice for a long drop.
This is not a hard climb if taking the chairlift, and I'd recommend it to anyone with two good legs. Just be prepared for bad weather. Really prepared.
Lastly, the staff working the mountain were very friendly and we had the MTB crew give us a lift down the mountain after the chairlift was put off of service by the gale. Legends, all of them

It was a great experience going on a summit walk to the mountain. We were very overwhelmed by the views all over the walk ways. It was not very difficult walk rather it was very enjoyable.
Thredbo is a popular alpine resort that offers a wide range of activities throughout the year. In winter, it's known for skiing and snowboarding, while summer brings opportunities for mountain biking and hiking. The accommodation options in Thredbo cater to various budgets, making it accessible for families and individuals alike. The region is also recognized for reliable snowfall in the Snowy Mountains, particularly at higher altitudes like Thredbo.
Perfect for the passionate rider and their family. Lots to do for the younger riders around Friday flats. Everywhere can be accessed by foot. Great pump track and skatepark with playground right next door to keep the little ones busy.

Multiple chairlift options, but you need to check before arrival that how many are operational due to weather conditions. A lot of details are regularly updated online which is great. Live camera feeds are also available online which you can check for snow presence or conditions up hill and prepare accordingly.

Alpine bliss. Great in winter, great in summer. Grab your skis or bike and head on up. Not the greatest vertical drop in the world, but the friendliest, smallest, most fun resort for New South Welshmen and their friends and families

Just as well run in summer as winter. Fun kid’s activities all week. The Bike, Hike and Adventure Challenges were a big hit with our 6 and 7 year old. Organised sports, tree planting, arts and crafts and more. The mountain bike tracks are fabulous with something for all levels. Live music at The Alpine too. Fabulous summer holiday destination! Shout out to Sam and Mr Mac for running the kids activities so brilliantly.

While it was their first day, Anita, Joe and Luke from Bike Patrol did a great job of getting me and my bike off the mountain safely after I crashed. Luckily for me, Luke was a ranga and gave me good luck. Anita had cool sunnies. Joe had less cool sunnies. Huge thanks to them and Thredbo.

Well where to start … I guess my former loyalty. Skied there since I was 10, then worked for Thredbo (in hotel) after uni for 2 seasons … and skied ever since till age 48 (typically twice a year). Skied Perisher once never Victoria. So formerly super loyal.
I forgave the greed and reduced services over COVID to an extend. For example as a snowboarder not bothering to build a park as Sydney was excluded was just petty cost cutting.
However the 2022 season was embarrassing. Bulls balls and not much else at the much loved Black Sallees will cost you guys a lot more than the small extra margins you made last year. Probably my missing spend alone will make your decisions bad business…
Stuart Diver is killing the atmosphere, the special vibe that did make Thredbo special. The independent operators added intangibles that made the place great.
I’ve not even mentioned lift ticket prices … I’d actually be happy to pay $200 per day if the place were special.
My advice is stay away a couple years, way for the CEO to be replaced, then give it a go in 2025.
I’m going to try NZ this year, can’t be worse !!

Thredboland is the best! Drop the kids off at 8.30am and pick them up at 3.30pm so mum and dad get a holiday too. After 5 days at Thredbo land our kids could ski blue runs and they loved every day of it.

Thredbo offers an exhilarating skiing experience. The diverse range of slopes caters to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers. The breathtaking alpine scenery adds to the charm. Lift facilities are efficient, reducing wait times. Off-slope amenities like cozy lodges and restaurants complement the adventure. However, it can get crowded during peak times, impacting the overall experience. Nonetheless, Thredbo remains a fantastic destination for a memorable skiing getaway.

We stayed at the ski in ski out chalet by the Supertrail and it was amazing. I like how Thredbo has free shuttles to go around the resort. I also like there are nooks and crannies to explore if we're not on the trail. I would love to return and hopefully winter is better next year.

Rooms are set up for winter. They are warm in summer. Hiked from base to the top. Long walk. Very scenic and enjoyable. Enjoyed the hotel. Had lunch at highest restaurant in Australia. Again very warm but heh, tick, tick.

Thredbo is a breathtaking, natural, beautiful, and relaxing retreat. I loved travelling on the chair lifts to the top of the mountain and experiencing the spectacular views. The local food/dining is expensive as the village has no competition. There is a daily fee to enter the Kosciuszko National Park. Overall, I give it 5 Stars.

Great part of Australia. Going up there at the moment is really lovely. You get a good idea of the landscape and the picturesque view of Thredbo village from up the top of the ski-lift.

The township was full of mountain bike rides. No parking anywhere!!!!
Went to the bakery....pretty ordinary.
The place hasn't changed much in 10 years.....needs a makeover.

Thredbo is a beautiful place. Winter season sports like skiing and summer sports like mountain biking. Plenty of open space to enjoy whatever the weather. Thredbo has always been one of my favourite places to visit, especially if you love the outdoors. A definite must visit this place if planning a holiday.

Just passed through on a day motorcycle ride. Very pretty and pleasant. A few people about the accommodation areas on holiday.
Definitely worth a look.

Excellent place, we spent two full days, we tried chairlifts, bob sledding, cycling, hiking, leisure centre, and different free kids activities.
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
Sadia N — Google review
This company is too lucrative by asking for a lot of money with little service. Plus their strong discrimination, while the chairlift is OK to serve bike rider but no tourist. Dont you understand the local economy is supported by tourists? there are more tourist than riders....STRONGly NOT recommend the passes
Located in the heart of Jindabyne, Lake Jindabyne Hotel Motel is a popular choice for visitors to the Snowy Mountains region. The motel offers modest rooms with beautiful lake views and provides amenities such as WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and air conditioning. Guests can enjoy dining at the casual bistro and lounge bar or unwind at the nightclub. For those seeking adventure, mountain biking in the Snowy Mountains is a thrilling option.
Stayed after riding our mtbs from Thredbo along the valley trail.
Great Motel. Rooms were light and comfy with a great view of the lake. The bathroom seemed newly renovated and the shower was excellent. King size bed was very comfortable. Dinner at the pub was great. Then the complementary hot breakfast in the morning was awesome. My kind of motel.

Stayed here last year and was just as happy with my stay then as I am now.
Staff are very friendly, and when we had an issue with our key not working they came and sorted it out very fast. Room was clean, bed was comfy, air condition worked brilliantly.
We ate dinner at the attached pub and it was lovely. Large serving size and delicious.
Great view from the pub and the room of the lake. Absolutely recommend staying here if you're in the area.

Stayed here a few times for work, found it to be great . Large size rooms with big comfy beds with a great view over the lake. Cool little bar with great bar meals and excellent stuff. But the best part about this place has always been the buffet breakfast, huge selection of everything you want and more.
Troy Shields — Google review
The room was reasonable. The mattress and over sized pillows were ok but did not help with sleep. The air conditioner did work initially but we did feel that it wasn’t quite work late in the night. So all in all broken sleep. It wasn’t helped by the very late night pub music and guests… it is great if you want to drink at the pub and hit the bed at the motel. If you are planning other activities in the morning .. you will have trouble getting a sound sleep.
Breakfast was really good within the room price. The tech that allows access to the room is automated and works really well. Location is really good… car parking is easy.
All in all 3/5

Worst experience at a pub/bistro. Would not recommend
Received not one but two meals with undercooked chicken. Chef and manager explained it off as being “cooked to the standard”. It was pink and had a glossy and soft texture and wouldn’t tear apart. Undercooked. They did provide a minor compensation but definitely not enough. Poor customer service from the chef and manager who did not want to acknowledge the fact they provided 2 bad meals.
Whole experience left me in a bad mood and with a messed up stomach.

Didn’t stay here but had lunch there today.I know it’s low season. No excuse for terrible food $20 for a burger and steak sandwich. Steak was raw and cold. Surely on a hamburger you could spare a bit more salad. The chips were cold. lemon lime and bitters was the worst we’ve had. What a rip off. So disappointed in the whole experience

Well worth the drive from Canberra for the perfectly cooked meals. My vegetables were aldentè and dripped with a hint-of-garlic butter sauce. It perfectly complimented the med-rare 300 grams Scotch fillet that was 2 cm thick and so tender.
My friend was enamoured with the homemade Tartare sauce that accompanied her beer battered fish.
A great view of East Jindabyne and the lake which was a sapphire blue under the autumn sunshine.

We enjoyed our stay at Jindabyne Hotel, and the room was very clean and tidy. The location is very good, you have to go for morning and evening walks beside the lake Jindabyne, all the restaurants are at a walking distance, make sure you choose the free breakfast option if it's available, totally worth it, warm and fresh breakfast, satff was very friendly.

Stayed for 3 nights. It was cheapest accomodation i found. Nice clean room, comfortable bed, beautiful view of the lake. The only issue (for a snowy town ) no drying room.
Pub food also great!
Would stay again .

Perfect place to stay if you want to be in the centre of Jindabyne, have comfy beds, and have heating when it’s cold! Right next to the pub which has great food, multiple pool tables, and music on some nights. My favourite part was waking up to the beautiful lake in the mornings. No view like that anywhere else I’ve stayed in jindy!!! Thanks for a great stay :)

Basic accommodation. King bed very comfortable, bunk was uncomfortable. Rooms are clean and bathroom new. No microwave but great breakfast included.

Stunning location looking across the lake with access for swimming. Very friendly staff & a cooked breakfast is included. Rooms are renovated & comfortable but VERY noisy - from neighbours, to bar attendees & pool players, to the builders currently on site constructing a new block of rooms (January '24). Bring ear plugs, patience & a sense of humour.

Roomy restaurant which gives the place a quiet feeling. It is family friendly in the way of food and seating but there isn't any kids area or activities.

Big room with very comfy, large bed, good seating, small but ok bathroom. Rooms have views over the lake & included cooked breakfast makes this place a good deal. Short walk to shops. Recommended.

Had a great time with the kids. Big room with a huge, comfy king bed plus 2 lots of bunk beds. Great view over the lake and so handy to walk into town. Easy check-in with a code and a nice breakfast that filled us up all morning.

(Just reviewing the bar/restaurant, not accommodation)
Meh.
There’s a reason why everyone else is eating across the road at the Banjo Paterson hotel..
The atmosphere at this place is absent, the food is expensive for what it is & it has the widest selection of extremely average beers I’ve ever seen.
One great thing is the enormous selection of sauces for the kids to choose from, and the complete absence of other punters means that there isn’t much of a line up.
Nice view though

Cannot beat the view from the family room , great location, chilled relaxed vibe and staff . Really comfortable king bed , nothing fancy but clean and heaps of room

We were deceived with false advertising and pictures that do not show the reality for me. They spoiled my vacation for me and my family, which I had arranged for earlier. The room that was given to me, (room number 1), it was like a room on a work site, or construction site as the hotel is under renovation, there is dust and equipment around it, and work cars occupy most of the parking lots. For parking, it was not a suitable hotel for my left and the way the reception staff dealt with my complaint was not good at all, showing a lack of respect for customers. Summary: It is impossible for me to recommend or think about this hotel, even if it was free.

Great views, friendly bar staff and cold beers. Bistro not so great. Waited 1.5 hours for a couple of kids meals and schnitzels. Not bad food, but hot salad with a frozen pressed schnity not really worth the wait.

Disappointed to see prices are so much more expensive than others in the area. We book early to get decent rooms/prices, but unfortunately won’t be staying at Lake Jindy Hotel because it’s unaffordable.
For a group booking with similar hotels (and star rating) in Jindabyne, Lake Jindy Hotel is well over $1,000 more expensive for identical dates - it’s no wonder you can still find a spot available later in the season.
We have stayed here previously, and while the rooms were adequate, comfortable, and mostly quiet, It’s still a 3-Star hotel and the prices being asked aren’t justified. I would look elsewhere.
