Beautiful peaceful place displaying the grandparents of yesteryears.
Well worth the entry fee.

Fantastic property, exquisite architecture and grounds. We unfortunately arrive too late and missed our home inspection but will be travelling back at next Open House event.

It was so exceptional I loved exploring the castle and found it very emotional. It was stunning. A must do if you can. Make sure you book tickets on line early!!

What a majestic old building originally siting on 32000 acres of very productive land. Being ĺovingly restored to its former glory. Well worth a visit. It opens to the public at different times throughout the year
Clive Coogan — Google review
There was a ticketed Open Day at the castle today. The gardens were beautifully presented. The rooms in the castle are stunning and you could see the clear difference between the rooms for the family and those for the servants.
The volunteers do a great job both with the public and how they present the castle.

I am gob smacked by this building & it's surrounds. It holds a place in my mind I will never forget, well worth seeing. The hosts & their helpers (on the day) were just terrific.

Beautiful place, glad I visited as all money raised from entry fees go in to restoration of the homestead.

A sensational step back in time walking through the hallways of Iandra Castle in Greenethorpe, NSW. Volunteers gave an overview of a past working farm with a share farming model in place and a large family living in Iandra castle. We strolled the gardens, stables and the castle. I didn’t want to leave. A big shout out to the volunteers that operate the running, restoration and showcasing of this large gem in the Hilltops region. Do yourself a favour and visit. TIP:- take a picnic lunch and relax and enjoy in the gardens.

The castle was great to explore, well presented and refurbishing the place. The gardens are beautiful, also coffee van there and sausages and steak sandwiches.

Beautifully manicured lawns and gardens surround the lovingly restored buildings.
Steeped in history, this is a wonderful place to visit and definitely worth the trip. Full of old world charm, it’s a history lesson in itself.
Be sure to take a wander through the grounds and enjoy the rose gardens.

Loved the place!! Beautiful historic building, beautiful grounds. Worth the visit!!

We were blessed to visit the castle on a beautiful Autumn day. You can buy tickets online ($20 adults). Not as much a castle as a large manor house, this piece of Australian history is local legend. Well run, and supported by local groups such as the Lions Club who sold sausage sandwiches and drinks, local volunteers also gave interesting lectures about the history of Iandra Castle. You can tour the main house, stables and garden at your leisure. We brought a picnic lunch with us and enjoyed it on one of the ground level verandahs. On the day coffee was available from a van, and the Young Steam engine enthusiasts had their steam engines chugging away near the stables. A most interesting and enjoyable day soaking up the sunshine and Australian history.

Beautifully restored, great informative history chat, beautiful grounds , very pretty place , there is a coffee can with a small selection of food which is lovely. We saw alot of people with picnics sitting around the grounds , great idea!
What a pleasure it was to visit Poppa's Fudge & Jam Factory - we were greeted by local, experienced Imogen who took us through the range of fudges and more. Later, owner Vicki came out and said hello and Imogen and Vicki were captivating to speak with. We bought Cherry Juice (even had a sanmple thank you Vicki, delicious) and a range of fudges. Can't wait to visit again.

I've always loved this place. So full of yummy surprises and the hottest chilli sauce I've found in Australia yet (Grumpy Gary's). Great range of gifts and homewares and the fudge is just delicious.

Extremely friendly, helpful family run business. Cherry Pies are delicious.
Great selection of handmade chocolates and fudge.
They have almost the entire range of Billsons cordials as well as Billsons Soda in the fridge.
Poppa's is a must visit every time you visit Young!

I don't normally do reviews but this one is worth one. As we couldn't do any tastings due to covid, we bought blindly the fudges and jam. Can I just say everything was perfect and the girls were lovely. The Cherry Jam wasn't too sweet and was slightly sour. It was just right! As for the fudges it's the best I have ever tasted. The flavours taste exactly like what they are supposed to. The consistency is so smooth and soft. And just the right amount of sweetness. Thank you 😊

Lovely little homewares and lollyshop. Had a delicious cherry pie and lollies and jam.. great service, but they let me wander through unharnessed, and when I had questions, they were amenable and pleasant

They have such a great selection of chocolates, lollies, truffles plus oils, vinegar, relish, Jam etc etc. So many things to looks and and grab! And ofcourse the highlight being the cherries. A wonderful museum full of history and memorabilia. Highly recommended, friendly staff. Museum has hundreds of items to view from old typewriters, radio's, sewing machines, military badges and memorabilia, huge uniform/clothing collection, lamps, older printing and farm equipment etc. Highly recommend the museum. Must visit.

Think twice before donating anything to them. I asked to borrow an item that my grandfather donated to help educate children. Sent emails, phone calls and visits in person but they refused. What's the point having items of history when the museum refuse to share.

A lot of local items and so much to see. It's worth the visit. $7 entry
Susan Baita — Google review
A lovely museum, full of beautifully displayed and restored pieces and real history from this very area! It is under attack, however, from those who would rewrite history with a 2024 world view, political correctness and driven by minority of loud, squeaky, troublemaking voices.
Yes, we should be ashamed of what happened to Chinese people way back, and our Indigenous brothers & sisters, but the truth is the truth and it must be told, and understood in the context of the time that it happened.
Patrick G — Google review
Lots of very interesting history in many displays, with friendly staff to assist.

Incredibly informative with a diverse array of wonderfully kept machines, clothing, photographs and other items from Young's (and Australia's) past. The workers are friendly and had a great "treasure hunt" to keep the kids (aged 4 to 11) entertained and engaged at the museum. Highly recommend!

Excellent little museum that shows the astonishing history such a small town. So many stories that helped shape who we are as a national were born in this place. You can always learn something new each day and the lambing flat museum will give you more than enough! Drop in for a quick visit, or spend a few hours having lunch in the adjacent park.

A wonderful time exploring the history of Young and the people who made this place what it is. The displays of clothing and lace work, home and farm equipment and tributes to locals who have excelled was fascinating. Our guide was friendly and very helpful. Loved the demonstration of the precursor to the stick vacuum from the early last century.
If you're looking for tranquillity and a walk in a superbly laid out garden, then this deserves a visit. It is beautifully laid out with all the various plants and trees to sooth you. Loved it.

Our lovely Chinese Gardens are a must see when you visit Young. A lovely area for family picnics and BBQ (provided by the Council). The gardens are Chinese inspired. The pagoda, which has a lovely view over the water, has recently been renovated, the perfect place for quiet contemplation. A path winds around the lake with viewing areas at different intervals. The pathway is lined by rocks and attractive plants. Autumn colours dominate at this time of year. The waterfall and water wheel provide relaxing water music. Ducks, wading birds and swans paddle on the lakes. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Beautiful any time of day.
Amanda Shaw — Google review
One of the most amazing surprise of a location, a beautiful garden is an understatement. Very well designed and maintained. A must visit
Bobby Ng — Google review
This is a gorgeous location with public toilets, plenty of parking, some picnic tables and lots of grass to lay out your picnic rug. The garden is across the bridge and is a lovely oasis of birds, a temple, rose bushes, natives, a waterfall, water lilies', quiet little spots to sit and contemplate the reflective pool. There are microbats living in the trees and lots of photographic opportunities. Its not far from Young, definitely put this on your list of places to visit!

Nice relaxed park just out of town.
Great for a picnic lunch and stroll through the relatively small but nicely designed and maintained Chinese style gardens
Rob McHenry — Google review
A reasonable tribute to the Chinese story, and a fair garden for a picnic or fishing.
Good parking, fair toilets, good interpretation signs.
Pretty gardens and ponds,
Caution with wheelchairs: some of the slopes are not engineered well, someone pushing may lose control going down slopes.
Michael Michelmore (Bert Fegg) — Google review
Really lovely, could do with just a touch of maintenance, but the whole area is very pleasant and free to enter. I'm guessing the waterfall works but I'm not sure when.

A beautiful, peaceful place to visit if staying in Young. Easy walk across the bridge and around the garden. Lovely pond in the middle with a water wheel. The sound of the water adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Just after we finished our walk, a group of ladies turned up for what was obviously a yoga meet. What a lovely place to do some quiet stretches. Worth a visit.

A tranquil and relaxing place to stroll, picnic and enjoy the beauty of the surrounds.
Lots of delicious honey!
I really liked this shop, as a quick stop during one of our recent adventures. Not only does it have lots of honey to taste test and a surprisingly wide range of bee gifts, but it also a small amount of bee keeping heritage. I enjoyed looking through the history whilst mulling over exactly how much honey I could consume in a day.
The service was lovely and the atmosphere in the shop is very relaxed. There are plenty of items designed for children and also a good range of other local prices that isn’t honey based. I also notice honey based skin care items too.
Well worth a visit, and there is coffee and toilets nearby for travelers. It’s in a very pretty location with plenty of things to check out and wander through.

This shop is a must see in Murrumburrah for locals and visitors alike. It boasts a comprehensive array of honey types, all of high quality. This is not to mention the endless bee related paraphernalia. Every time we pop in here we end up with an arm full of goods! Thank you Arlyn and Ken for your hospitality.

Awesome store to buy honey! You can also try so many and you will probably eat to much... haha but it's so yum! They have all different honey from all around the country. You can buy some honey combe and creamed honey. The lady who served us was very friendly and cute. I love these small boutiques that you can only find in country towns😊
Jubedaine — Google review
I always stop at this shop on my way through Harden. Lots of different types of honeys available for tasting and as many honey themed gift ideas as you can think off. I especially enjoy having a chat with the owner (6th generation beekeeper) to discover the provenance of the honeys that I most enjoy.
GLISS! — Google review
Stop here every time we go through on route to Leeton. Love this place, always find a new bee treasure and the knowledge of the owners is bottomless. The variety of honeys is extensive. Plan your trip around the open hours.

Delicious honey! So many varieties to suit everyone's taste. A huge assortment of 🐝 toys, games, stationary, souvenirs and honey related lotions and potions! Very helpful and friendly staff.
The Staff are very welcoming, Our cabin had a great view of the water and was very peaceful sitting on the big verandah with the kids watching the birds. Great spot for fishing and the shop does yummy kid approved chips. Well worth the visit.

Nice, quite. Lots of birds, kangas, lizards, 🦋.
Lovely attendants, very helpful. Clean amenities. Bins provided for rubbish. Large area to camp, or caravans. Little shop.
Big lake to ski, fish etc

Needs improvement. Why allow people to continually book and book campsites online until people have absolutely no choice but to sleep on the road! Its wrong! We paid $150 for a patch of dirt to sleep on and people are basically on top of each other. THERE IS NO SPACE. Theres no privacy anywhere. Idiots blaring music all night, rubbish all over the grounds, expensive kiosk with expired items! Ridiculous. This purely resorts to poor management of the grounds and running of the booking system. Management needs improving, especially
In terms of booking numbers. Go elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

Top spot. Great people. Good amenities. Great drive up to the dam wall area, seeing all the quaint old weatherboard building dating back from the '50s. Sandflies around the water's edge eat you alive after dark!!!

Location is amazing, cabins are amazing, the most comfortable pillows. Not noise of a night.
Staying here for a week and hopefully be back after Easter to stay for a couple of months.

Such an amazing location with a beautiful lake to one side and to the other sides it is surrounded by the beautiful Burrinjuck Waters State Park. There are lots of kangaroos and parrots who come to your site wanting food, there is bird seed and kangaroo food available from the office but bread and other human food makes them sick and aggressive. There is this one scruffy, skinny orphan joey who hangs around powered sites 301-307. He has no parents so relies on humans for food. Do not touch him though as he scratches a lot and probably has fleas. Also beware of the adult male kangaroos as they are very strong and can kick you if they feel threatened. It is great for animal lovers, boaters, water skiers, fishermen and paddle boarders
Zak Boulton-Singh — Google review
Spent easter here 2022 in unpowered site, You pretty much need a boat here to either fish or ski, otherwise there aint much going on for kids. Its really hilly, so leave the kids bikes at home. lil bit of Telstra reception, no optus or voda. Can have big fires which is great.

Camped with brother and our sons in swags for two nights. Amenities are top notch. Excellent showers; heated bathroom. Very clean. Excellent services. Nice boat ramp, Gorgeous dam. Be prepared for it to be very remote. Services are great, but if you're missing something, it's a long drive to the nearest shop.
Alan Garfield — Google review
There isn’t enough flat ground for campsites which is especially disappointing when it’s busy. Also noticed a repetitive feature that tends to be at this holiday park all year round…. The bogan. Between the smokers, parties, and drunks this is more of a party spot than a relaxing camp ground.
Courtney Eaton — Google review
Thank you to the staff in the park who extended such kindness to me :)
Last Friday, I just had one of those days, where almost anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I lost $100 worth of lures, my electric trolling motor blew a fuse and smoke was coming out of the head unit, I had a massive ‘bird’s nest’ tangle in my reel that required 90 mins to be relaxed, and it took me over two hours to get back to the boat ramp in my kayak because I was stupid enough not to realise how wild the waves can pick up in the main basin, when winds and strong gusts become very active. Also, two families at the boat ramp had blocked my car in with theirs, and even after politely asking them, twice, to move their cars, they did not.
However, upon exiting the park, the kindness extended to me by the staff is what truly made my day better. It touched my heart, and that is what humanity is all about - helping others in times of need.
If the staff who dealt with me ever read this, thank you. Your kindness is what made my day better.

Loved the experience.. If ever one wants to start appreciating the minute details of limestone caves and the various geological formations (surprise surprise - there are more than 2!!), Geoff is your guy to learn it from. Stupendous guide, who enriches your tour experience by a thousand times! Highly recommended, for everyone.. Oh, and the location is also beautiful!
Pratyush Sahay — Google review
My family and I have twice visited these caves. Although they are small, they provide one of the best learning experiences of any cave system I have visited in both Australia and South Africa. That's because Geoff takes his time to explain to his customers what they are about to see in the cave, and how to have the best experience once inside the cave.
I really like how children (and adults) can touch the different rock specimens and taste the water, in addition to exploring in a relatively safe environment. Once they leave the caves they have a firm impression of how valuable and precious caves are.
Geoff is an excellent presenter and adds a bit of humour, but also drama to the occasion - like switching off the lights, and making us aware of how our eyes adapt to the dark.
One of the best features of the cave is that you get to sit down, which means that the caves are brilliantly accessible to less mobile people, including people with disabilities.
Geoff was particularly patient and kind to my adult son who has multiple sclerosis, giving him time to reach the caves and to fully participate in the experience.
The excursion is well-priced.
The information Geoff provides to his customers before they arrive at the caves is extremely helpful as the location is isolated and there are facts one should know before making the trip.
The approach to the caves is breathtaking and makes the long journey worthwhile.
A great initiative, and one which we all thoroughly enjoyed!
I classify this experience as educational. However, if you are a thrill-seeker you need to visit any of the larger, more challenging caves Australia has to offer.
Lauren Howard — Google review
The cave was beautiful and it was amazing to look around. The tour guide was knowledgeable and passed on some great, and interesting information. The reason for the lower score is because of how chauvinistic he was. There were sooo many sexist jokes and he was quite condescending - while I’m sure it was intended harmlessly, it’s 2021 and I expected better. At the beginning one of the participants decided she was not comfortable going down through the steep, narrow entry and, although she said had paid and made it clear she would not be seeking a refund but was terribly scared so wouldn’t go, he pressured her for a good 15 mins while we all sat at the bottom waiting for him to stop badgering her. She was audibly upset. When he finally came down he said “usually I can get women to do what I want, but the charm didn’t work this time”. 🙄🙄🙄
Jess Hall — Google review
Worth a visit. Not so commercialised as some of the more well known caves. Guide was knowledgable but not too flash with his time keeping. I wouldn't go with a young family as the tour was way too long.
Sarah Stewart — Google review
Best cave experience ever, don’t go if you’re looking for a quick walk though. That’s not Geoff’s style. He’s very passionate about what he does that must be respected. Not only was he punctual, he was also hilarious. A+ communication

We visited today and had a great time, there were a few other families and we arrived a little latter than anticipated but the guide was very accommodating. Cave is fantastic and very easy to get around in with only a few steps, they even do music events and weddings in the cave.
Amenities were nice and clean as well.
Matthew Robinson — Google review
We had no idea what to expect as we just followed the road signs to the cave. When we arrived the tour was about to start so we quickly got tickets. An incredible experience. The best part was the tour guide. Geoff was witty, knowledgeable, approachable and engaging. Geoff explained things so well and took his time. He was the best part of the tour for sure. We will definitely go again just to have some more banter with Geoff.
Adam Antonelli — Google review
The tour was a bit of fun, more of a talk than a walk tho (:

Wonderful trip!Magnificent scenery and Geoff is quite informative and taught us a lot about the cave and the history.
Emily wu — Google review
Very impressive experience. The tour guide is funny and knowledgeable. But the atmosphere during the touring was more like a geology class,
The tour guide Jeff is more suitable as a university professor than a tour guide.
Recommen to go if you really interesting in cave and geology.
Remember to bring a jacket, really cold inside.
Andy Li — Google review
The caves were beautiful and worth seeing. Unfortunately the guide talked to us for an hour prior to going in and then we were seated for 40 min inside the cave prior to being able to look around. The guide was very knowledgeable, however did not "read" the room and was purely focused on delivering the information that he wanted rather than being guided by customers. The experience was only advertised as an hour and it threw out our day and other people's completely out. He became very difficult when we said that we needed to leave and was extremely controlling! Such a shame as the cave is beautiful. Toilets were not working either and clearly had not been for some time.
Rachel Douglass — Google review
When there's more reviews of the tour guide than the caves, you know your on to something.
Well, Geoff is testament- they don't make em like they used to. What an absolute pleasure, we absolutely loved our time there. He was witty, intelligent and knowledgeable- but his enthusiasm shone through second to none.
Great experience 👍 plus the caves were magnificent
Jessie Martinovic — Google review
I recently did a tour with my family. I was expecting that there might be one or two small underground caves and I would have been impressed with that. However, there is a HUGE network of caves and they are STUNNING. The tour guide, Geoff, is very knowledgeable and personable and ran the tour in a way that really made you pay attention to and appreciate the amazing formations. The whole experience went for about 2.5 hours and there was plenty of time to enjoy the caves. Excellent value. Family friendly. Highly recommend.

Not sure what all the fuss about Geoff is so don't let that put you off. He was great and shared a lot of knowledge. It's old fashioned. Yes times have changed but not everyone has so just deal with it and don't blame him. Wee Jasper is a stunning town one of the most beautiful locations out here. Come have a look and enjoy the scenery. Truley amazing.
Keep it up Geoff.

While driving from Sydney to Melbourne we took a detour to Cootamundra to checkout Sir Don Bradman’s birthplace. Being a cricket fan it was great to see the room in which Don Bradman was born, it’s well preserved with lots of memorabilia and things about Don’s cricketing career. There is small entry fee of $5 for adults and kids are free. The Midwife who delivered Sir Don Bradman ran a small private hospital from the front room of her house, it was refurbished in 1991 and opened to public in 1992. Definitely worth a visit for every cricket fan.

I really enjoyed coming here and looking at all the great history. My favorite thing in there was the slaves that came from Britain. The statues looked so life like behind the glass, and they moved to! When I tapped on the glass they leaped towards me and began bagging on the glass. Scary! Then a guy went in there with a whip and scarred them from the glass. So realistic, I recommend this place to everyone wishing to explore the great Australian history.

One of the must visit places while you’re in Cootamundra!
Right across the train station, don’t be deceived by its vintage looks from the facade, inside the museum lies a treasure trove of surprises with memorabilia from the region’s past that will surely take you back down memory lane. Allow approximately 25 minutes to thoroughly look at the exhibits and there is complimentary tea/coffee as well. The staff are lovely with good knowledge of the region’s history!
Open Monday to Sunday.

Definitely one of the best, if not THE best museums I've visited. Organised in small rooms of information, atrifacts, and meaningful displays I did not become overwhelmed with meaningless information as I usually do in much smaller museums. All info and artefacts were categorised deliberately to make the flow of info more meaningful. Found at the Visitor Information Centre, this unassuming community museum is a Must Stop!

There is a very good place to understand the local history of Cootamundra, it is worth to stay
The Captains walk itself is interesting but it is also part of a great park with bbqs, shelters, playground, toilets. Great to amuse the kids whilst you appreciate the cricketing history. I learnt a few things as did my Dad and he knows way more cricket than I do.
Parking is easy right out front.

Great walk displaying all the past to present Australian cricket captain's & the legend Sir Don Bradman.

A must for the cricket enthusiast. A short walk with busts of past Australian cricket captains complete with a little info on each.

Good concept but average facility maintenance for a supposed "must visit" of Cootamundra...thought the Council could at least cut the long grass.

Awesome walking and mountain bike track.

Unfortunately, the council is doing lots of work at the park, so the grounds are not as good as it could they could be. The busts were very well done, quite close to the subject recommended visit

Good idea for a small country town! Also encouraging for cricket fans. It is good to know a few more names and their achievements for Australia and the world of cricket. A nice short walk done in a beautiful park and they have all the basic well maintained amenities nearby!

If you're a cricket fanatic or someone who just respects the greats of the game, this is for you. It's having some repair work at the moment due to recent floods in the area, but it is still a good place to visit.
Deidre Curry — Google review
While it was great to see all former captains of the Australian Men’s Cricket Teams, it was bitterly disappointed that not one female captain is yet to feature in the walk. Because this walk is NOT called Australian Men’s Captains Walk. There is in fact no mention of gender and yet only one gender is represented here.
We’ve had female test cricket captains for at least 90 years. Why are they not here too?
Louise Walsh — Google review
The park is being redeveloped and it's a bit messy at the moment, but you can still see all the captains. It's going to be great when it's finished

Heaven for cricket lovers.. One of the best places I’ve ever visited in my life. Captain’s walk is a beautiful park with all the Australian Test Captains’ sculptures.. their records and stats engraved on each sculpture. Bradman’s Birthplace is about 3 minutes from here. A great historic place. People in Cootamundra are lucky to be part of this heritage. The park consists of bbq, children play area and a beautiful walking path.

Depicting a famous 1850s bush ballad, this monument shows a dog guarding his owner's tuckerbox.
A great place to stop and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There are tables to sit and eat or just sit and relax for a bit after taking a break from long drive. The souvenir store is great, with many awesome products, from fridge magnets, crafts to boutique alcoholic beverages. There is also a Cafe there to enjoy a coffee too. Highly recommend this place, when you are on a road trip to stop by. 👍🙂

A nice place to stop either direction during daytime. Little cafe serves nice coffee and fresh sandwiches, the kitchen is closed as well as selling local produce and trinkets. Friendly service from owner, support local small businesses as still struggling after covid.
Grass to lay down on and relax, or table and benches scattered about.

Such a lovely historical spot to visit. I noticed the old statue to the side, and the new monument has a water fountain around it. Wanted to recreate a photo I took there of a child but couldn't as the old monument no longer has the dog on it and it's been moved onto a larger monument and is surrounded by water.
Beautiful backdrop and location.

My dog and I went to the older and quieter part of the complex to stretch our legs. It was nice to see the cafe/souvenir shop is still operating there.
It's a great spot to have a picnic and purchase treats and/or souvenirs from the shop.

Good for a quick stop, folk history and amusing sign. The cafe was shut when we visited. Shame. The dog was smaller than the photos depict.

Lovely shady rest stop. Great shop with lots of gifts and souvenirs. Enjoyed the cherry juice! Friendly staff. Now, there is a Tucker Box to put your own dog on, so you can take pictures, but only if your dog will get up there and sit on it! 😀

I saw The Dog on the Tuckerbox in the 1980's sometime when driving from Adelaide to Sydney. I think it was in a bit more of a bush setting then. However Australia has changed a lot since then and progress we have. I loved it then and I think it is what we need now, so l believe it has been done well . It is such an Australian icon, and a must see for visitors passing through.
Raelene O'Flaherty — Google review
If needing a rest or a top up of something to eat aswell as a quick look around travelling along the Hume is worth a visit
Darren Borg — Google review
It's an icon because of our Australian history. Some history is presented at the site. There's a dog on the Tucker box statue to take photos of and one for your own dog should you be so inclined. Nice between grass. Some toilets. A bit of dirt to park on which can be unpleasant if the wind gets up. A souvenir shop. Fork and did in in the area. If you've never been it's worth a stop but I would not go to too much trouble. Certainly better than it was 20 years ago.

Nice place to stop and have a break photo opportunities a little history and plenty of shade . Also small souvenir and refreshments shop there and toilets . Toilets appear to only be open when the shop is .

This nostalgia and old bush ballad make this place a nice way to breakup your road trip. There are both Tesla and Chargefox chargers nearby and plenty of fast and not so fast food options within 2min walk of monument. The views of surrounding hills and idealic landscape vista are a great way to calm the mind.

The iconic Dog on the Tucker Box. My second visit, the first being 25 years ago. It's still the same. I love the merry history surrounding it and the numerous poems and songs it is included in. It sits at Five Mile Creek, 5 miles (north) from Gundagai.
There is a mock tuckerbox you can sit your dog on to take a photo.
Lots of parking and easy pull out back onto the highway. There is a turn zone in the middle of the highway, so pull in and out possible in either direction (we had caravan in tow :-)

Please share some love for the ladies at the Dog on the tuckerbox shop.
They were broken into at about 3am this morning (18/10/2023).
I was looking forward to visiting this shop to buy some presents.
But, it only takes a few to ruin it for the many.
I hope the Police catch the little mongrels who did this.
If you are passing through Gundagai, NSW please just call in and say hi to the ladies who run the place.

Dog on a Tucker Box Gundagai area is an interesting place with a couple of historical Homestead ruins and a couple of old horse draw wagons also so here!
As you turn off the Hume highway near the petrol station, the small road heading to the Tuckerbox, there's road works being done at the moment being (February 2024)...
Unfortunately for us the souvenir / gift store was closed and also I will add there is some tables seating area if you need a rest from driving...
This part below is a copy from the sign in front of the dog statue of most part:
Dog on the Tuckerbox memorial is supposedly based on an
incident that occurred to a teamster named Bill the Bullock on the road to Gundagai in the 1850s. While leading his bullocks team and wagon across a creek five or nine miles from Gundagai,
Bill's wagon became hopelessly bogged in the creek, trying to drag the wagon out of the bog one of his bullocks and then broke the wagon's yoke.
Thereupon, Bill gave up the job and went to have his lunch...
But here, to top off his run of bad luck, he found his dog sitting - or worse - on his tuckerbox...The other bullockies thought the incident a great joke, and one of them supposeally wrote a poem
about it.

Stopped on way back from Albury NSW, a great stop to see and take a break. Brought back memories from when I was a kid, and our caravan trip, back in the late 50s early 60s with Mum, Dad and Sister. You can pull off and get back on highway with no trouble, and the area is big and plenty of room to unwind. There is food, and the little store has different nik naks to buy. Also an antique shop for a look around, not sure if connected to the store with the food. The second photo taken from ladies, so had to take photo, interesting info, gave me laugh. Iconic tourist attraction, worth the stop.

A worthwhile stop on the road. Take your time and inspect the old fashioned railway architecture. Even though the bridge was destroyed in a flood, it is still in marvelous shape and gives you an impression about what once was leading technology.
Unfortunately the walkway on the intact part of the bridge is currently closed due to damages in another storm (?)
The bridge can be seen in detail from a lower point of view which can be reached by a little pathway. Don’t forget to check that out.

The old town Gundagai was built on the Murrumbidgee River and became a township in 1838.
On the 25th of June 1852 it was destroyed by a flood 4 to 5 metres deep across the river flats. With 78 recorded deaths, the flood was Australia's worst natural disaster, until the 2009 Black Saturday Bushfire in Victoria.
An even larger flood followed in 1853.
Prince Alfred (6 August 1844 - 30 July 1900), after whom the bridge named (opened in 1867) was the Queen's Victoria (24 May 1819 - 22 January 1901) her second son. He was the first member of the Royal Family to visit Australia, touring in 1867 - 68, when he was 23 years.
He was shot in an assassination attempt at Clontarf (Sydney) March 1868.
Prince Alfred Bridge the iron spans are of unique design. The top chord is continuing and rests on roller bearings.
The piers are made of 6ft high by 6ft diameter (approximately 2M x 2M) cast iron drums made at Fitzroy Iron Works Mittagong. They were the first large iron casting made in Australia.
The total length of Prince Alfred Bridge was 921 metres. The Railway viaduct built in 1903 is the largest timber truss bridge ever built in Australia and measures 809 metres.
Prince Alfred Bridge from 1867 to 2021, was at Gundagai for 154 years. Early November 2021 due to the significant safety risk that the deteriorated timber viaduct poses to the Public. So it come down.
The 25 June 1852 Murrumbidgee River flood, local Aboriginal men, Yarri, Jacky Jacky, Long Jimmy, and one other played a role in saving many Gundagai people rescuing more than 40 people using bark canoes.
2017 a bronze sculpture of Yarri and Jacky Jacky with a canoe was unveiled in Gundagai, the number of people whom they saved is 68, one third of the towns population.
In the census of 2016 the population of Gundagai was 1,925.

All I can say is wow!! Do yourself a favour go to the Gundagai visitors centre and have a yarn with Jackie. While you are there you have to spend some time with Rosconi's Marble Masterpiece. It will blow your mind. Ask plenty of questions the more you ask the more you will learn about this amazing piece. And do lunch across the road at the Services club chinese restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Gundagai has hidden treasures if you like discovering the less famous stuff.

The lady at the information centre Jackie was so lovely and accomodating. Audio tours aren’t something we’ve done before but we found it very informative. Given that the gaol itself is small, we would have usually walked in and out but because we had the audio it was very interesting and we did spend some time there. Price is $10 per adult which is an extremely reasonable.
Such a great place for lunch and cold beer! Was awesome to meet Michael and Tim, Tim provided a real raw and honest view on brewery life during tour. Michael was more than accommodating to all my questions when booking tour/tasting/lunch. Burgers were SO GOOD! And think Bounty Hunter is my new fav (really Ginger Ninja will always be No. 1)! Definately worth the trip and will be doing again and more often. Thanks guys!

Lively and cosy brewery with exceptional food and drinks. Generous and tasty salad with trout and a melt in your mouth chicken pesto pizza. 23 beers and ciders on tap and selection of local wines as well. We enjoyed the experience and the quality tastes of Kenny Red Ale and Borambola Double Joy Rose.

In Tumut's heart, where rivers flow, a brewery stands, a place to go. Crafted brews, a liquid art, at Tumut River Brewery, they're set apart.
With every sip, a journey unfolds, through each flavour a story is told. From golden lagers to rich dark ales, a symphony of tastes, spur snowy valley tales.
With laughter and stories, friends unite, under the brewery's warm and friendly light. In the shadow of nature, by the riverside, Tumut's charm and warmth collide.
Local ingredients, dishes divine, a culinary and beer delight combined. It's all here in this place that awaits, where we arrived as strangers but left as mates.
A haven that beer lovers and foodies adore, here everyone's welcome, whether two legs or four. So raise your glass, with cheers and glee, to Tumut River Brewery.

Pre-booked for a large group for a Saturday lunch and the kitchen took over an hour to deliver the majority of the meals, which frustrated our tour group members. Unsure if there was an issue with staff in the kitchen but meals were coming out one at a time. On the flip side, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food was good, the beers are tasty, and I would recommend to any beer enthusiast to pop in to sample the range. Just reconsider bringing a large group for food.

Absolutely spoilt for choice for beers, bounty was the highlight beer for me - taste like a lovely mix of Guinness and a bounty chocolate bar! Plenty of others to try with the paddle and the server was kind enough to give us a ginger beer on the house to try too!
Pizza is probably the best from a small town I've tried and the waffle chips so crispy with a nice amount of sugar and cinnamon.
Great to see 2 tesla chargers available for patrons (no cost) to use as well. Very happy to support local business looking after EV drivers.
Will definitely be stopping by again on the way up to NSW/ACT

Tumut River Brewing is prob the best local restaurant in town. Only 2 minutes drive from the main shopping town. This is one of the main attraction in Tumut so give it a try, they have a lot of different flavoured beers and drinks. As for food, it’s pricey, portions are small and there’s not a huge selection to choose from. Service is pretty good, food is ordered at the counter and served quickly. There’s plenty of tables both inside and outside, booking is essential.

The grounds are beautiful to look at, and sit in. The staff very friendly. The food in the restaurant part was very disappointing, couldn't order from the menu, only could order pizzas today, and they weren't very nice, we couldn't eat them, we tried, but felt sick after.
The gift shop upstairs had a nice range of local and non local wares.
The chocolate factory, u could see them making it through the windows, and you could make yr own chocolate too for a price, then you could go to the chocolate and licorice shop and buy some goodies to take home.
Outside they had a big shed that was full of vintage automobiles, for a gold coin entrance.

I really loved this place. It was our destination for our weekend trip to Junee and I travelled with my wife, kids and parents-in-law. We visited Saturday and while there were no scheduled tours, we asked and the lovely staff organised on for us and a few other families. The lady giving the tour, Katrina, was excellent and taught us a lot about how the products were made. We had fun too with the vertical bowling too and my son was delighted to win a prize. Lovely gift shops and cafes very reasonably priced. The coffee and hot chocolates were the best we had in town, we were back Sunday morning for another round! Definitely worth a visit.

Tours are run daily at 10:30am and 1:30pm so unfortunately we missed the tour however we were able to walk around and have a look through the windows at some of the production. Upstairs is a gift shop with a range of different items not related to the licorice and chocolate factory. For $5 you can make your very own big chocolate freckle in the freckle hut. There are several places to sit and enjoy some food. The hot chocolate’s are delicious.

Unfortunately no chocolate was being made the day we visited but despite that the building was beautiful to look around. The gift shop was pretty but honestly had very little amount of items related to the chocolate shop, to me it seemed very sporadic. The licorice shop smelt amazing, and the staff were lovely. Beautiful gardens as well. There is very little storage and unfortunately the building seemed more like a storage place, than a building where chocolate is made, as well as a cafe etc. There were cardboard boxes everywhere, plastic crates and a random ratty old computer chair. All in all it was a beautiful building to visit & the licorice is delicious.

Reportedly haunted Victorian-era house hosting supernatural tours & an offbeat doll museum.
What an awesome experience. If you haven't been here, you should. The presenters were awesome people and the house is amazing to explore. The stories told of its history are wonderful to listen to and I wish it could have been longer... We are planning another trip down that way again soon so we can spend some more time there.

Fun to visit. There are definitely ghosts at the property. Lovely older lady that served my family and I.
Sadly it wasn't very well maintained outside and wasn't very good the second time visiting.

This is an excellent experience. Lawrence is a passionate story teller so be prepared to be scared out of your skin. I'm in awe of the work the family has done over the years. Highly recommend the overnight experience.

Loved it. What a place and a story. We got to meet Olive and she signed the book my wife bought. We would love to do the full night time guided tours with over night stay that they offer but, unfortunately they are booked out until late May, so if you want to do this book now.
But the homestead and the ground are worth a walk around to take in the story.
Thanks Olive.

The house is beautiful in terms of its architecture and for the rooms (8 in total that were open for viewing) that were furnished and kept clean. However this is not a historic haunted house, they have rather made it a dirty old rundown place with weeds, termite infestation, spiders and wasps making nests wherever you see outside of these 8 rooms. Part of the house is closed due to being in tatters. The outhouses were some of the most crazily dirty rooms I have ever seen in Australia. The owners are lazy and do not believe in cleaning and mopping the place.
Laden with cobwebs and insects of all varieties it was a nightmare to see this place and felt really sad for how they are treating such a historic house. All it takes is a mop and bucket to clean and I can't believe they can't afford it!!!
Nothing haunting abt the house except the tacky mannequins unnecessarily added to the house making it haloweenish while it doesn't need it.
A sincere request :- CLEAN UP!!!

The young lady that does the meet, greet and money taking, is fantastic, will talk and guide you on what to look for is upbeat and certainly knows the history of the place. Worth a visit, steeped in history, and we also took her up on a discountbdeal for the group, so be nice and she may also offer you a deal.
Go see if you can bump into a ghost or 2!

Super cool experience! Definitely worth seeing the homestead, even from a historical perspective. We did the night tour, dinner and stay and it was definitely worth it! Would love to go again.

Amazing. Loved the vibe. Loved the energy. Loved chatting to the owners. What a memorable experience. While it may be Australia's most haunted homestead, I felt completely at home playing with the spirits. Saw things move. Saw orbs. Heard voices and my daughter felt her head being touched... maybe it was a spider web. Creepy but fun.
Claire Chancellor — Google review
The owners of this Homestead have done an amazing job of curating quite a collection of antiques and objects. Whilst we didnt see or hear a ghost during our visit, the ambience is definately quite unusual. We went during the day, I can imagine it would be atmospheric at night! The owner gave a talk when we purchased our tickets and entered the grounds, he provided us with a map which detailed the main house and surrounding grounds. Very interesting!

Great experience at the Monte Cristo homestead after wanting to visit since I was ten years old. I would love to go back and stay overnight sometime too but for now it was just a stop over on our way home.
We explored the home and it was super cold in the servants quarters as well as the old cart stables. We got one live picture of a few orbs floating around which was weird and cool.
Besides those new things it was a really nice stop over in a very historical building that I had known of most of my life, and always wanted to visit. So it was nice to finally do that.

Went here last Saturday to before I went to the chocolate factory. They have a great selection of old trains and carriages on display plus gift shop and working train models. You could spend about an hour looking through the old trains

We had an excellent afternoon experience the early modern train locomotives from steam to the modern day in the largest and oldest roundhouse with huge turntable in the Southern Hemisphere.
The mini model train run was outstanding!
Loved the place.
Syed Quddusi — Google review
Interesting train carriages with good interpretation. Being a working roundhouse, I was able to watch while a diesel engine came in to the roundhouse and then transfer to a bay. There is a great working and large train set on display. It reminds me of what we had at home. The volunteers are also great with much information.

A must see for all railway enthusiasts. There's a model railway that visitors can operate. The steam crane is impressive. Many locomotives and rolling stock that can be entered.

It's an outstanding piece of the local history encapsulated in a round facility building. Can you believe that once this place was full of energy, steam and people? It's a "must see" place for everyone interested in railways and trains.

Fantastic place to visit. The carriages and locomotives on display are great, and the roundhouse itself is very interesting.
The staff were excellent (special thanks to Ian for taking the time to explain the history of the roundhouse and the locos) and the model railway was incredibly detailed.

A wonderfully preserved and operating roundhouse. The static displays are great. Especially the postal car!

The volunteer staff make the $10 ticket worth more.
You can go on some beautiful, well maintained old carriages. the mail van is a highlight of all.
A beautiful place, especially those ancient ruins in this valley, a place that is not crowded and good in summer holidays, especially when the temperature rises.
I advise everyone, to pay attention to the rocks and reduce the place when going down to the gold mine, especially the parents that they should be careful about their children inside the river and when swimming.
You can park the car in the park, and there is a special park for the disabled with a sign.
information, if you come from afar, watch out for a road through the mountains.
it is better to bring your food with you and there is a village very close to the gold mine if you want to buy food from there.
Archaeological landmarks over 150 years old in Australia. You can read more about these monuments on information panels and pictures as well.
There is no difficulty in reaching these trails, you just have to be careful when going down to the valley.

Stopped here as I saw a sign mentioning it as I was driving through Adelong. The place looked amazing. I would have loved to have been able to walk🚶♀️down and around the historical area, but I wasn't able to. Hopefully, I will get back and walk around here.

One of my favourite swimming spots in the region! Toilets on site, although only drop toilets, plenty of places to explore, also a great area to sit and eat lunch!
If you haven't been what are you waiting for!? Nice day trip from Wagga!

Great place to cool off on a hot day. Many little places to picnic and get into the water. Not as cold as you'd think. Not much shelter from the sun down at the water but a nice area up the top before heading down.
Mandy — Google review
A great stopover and well worth the walk around the ruins.when you get there is you walk left you will quickly get to a small bridge, otherwise if you go right you need to walk maybe five to ten minutes till you get to a bridge upstream. If the river is down you can cut across the rocks, but either way you will need to cross the river to get to the gold mine ruins.

Such an amazing place. Reading the plaques about the old buildings and history was really cool, make sure to fins the cottage ruins, it was a highlight. The river was so clear and beautiful... I wanted to have more time to explore down stream. It would be a great spot to visit when it's warm enough to swim
Kaih R — Google review
What a beautiful place. Scenic, quiet...except for the sound of the rushing creek. Good concrete paths and steps giving excellent access to all parts, covered picnic tables, toilets and a massive mandarin tree full of fruit.
Brian Barrett — Google review
Very interesting place with good information scattered throughout the site. Various access ways that suit most people, wheelchairs etc a bike challenging, not recommended. There's a Outlook area to view the ruins then pathways to get closer. As well as the ruins there's a beautiful waterway. There's toilets and picnic tables near carpark.
Tracy Kenwery — Google review
This is a great place to stop to stretch the legs or cool off along the road to Gundagai. There is a viewing platform at the carpark overlooking the ruins. From there you can take the trail and stairs down to a number of walking tracks through the ruins and to the river at the bottom where you can plunge in for a swim.
We took the 20min walk and a quick swim before heading back up, which was a great way to break up the drive.
Mark Burgess — Google review
If you enjoy learning about our pioneering gold history then you’ll love this place. Numerous information signs go into facinating detail about the people and processes involved. There is a viewing platform close to the carpark if you are not able to manage the walkways that take you down to the creek and around the ruins.

Such a magical spot for photos. Every photographer should make the effort to check it out. The angles and light is perfection and late afternoon gives the best effects. I can't wait to go back in the snow. Wow! These photos are just from my phone. A must see attraction within the Tumut area. It's a easy drive from Tumut and the drive itself it quiet beautiful. There are forest drives along the way that you may want to explore as well. Just be cautious of the logging trucks as they frequent the same road. Highly recommend this attraction. Also its dog friendly and kid friendly.

Was told about this place by a friendly lady at the Information Centre and almost didn't visit. Decided to stop off and found it well worth it. Not too far off the main road, and the size of these trees and their regular arrangement was quite the sight.
Wouldn't go out of your way to get here, but if you're already going past, this is a great place to stop for a quick wander (though keep in mind, it's a forest, so there are no facilities and you'll need to take all your rubbish out with you)

Incredible place, magical forest and not crowded at all! It’s breathtaking to walk among those pine trees and it’s an amazing photo spot as well!
The sad thing is that they are staring to cut down the trees on the opposite side of the road, but this part is so beautiful that they don’t have plans to touch it.

The Wagga Beach precinct is a perfect spot for a picnic with the kids, a stroll with a friend (with four legs or two) or just some solo peace.
So very well maintained, clean and tidy.

Beautiful area but can get very crowded very quickly. The water was a bit murky, but still okay for a swim. Lots of signs talking about Wagga Beach being a Top Australian Beach in 2020 (number 9), but we probably wouldn't have ranked it this high ourselves.
A grass verge for the most part next to the river, with a toilet and shower block, picnic benches, children's playground and shade under the trees. Worth ticking off the list, but we wouldn't say a Top 10 beach in Australia.

Had an absolute blast with many different things my kids could play and interact with.
The only downfall would be the lack of secure fencing around the whole playground.
My little girl was able to duck out from my watchful eyes.
Lucky she was found before she was swept away by water

I don’t know how it was the 9th top beaches of top 20 beaches in Australia. I didn’t find anything here, rather it was too smelly. There is not even a view of beach, it’s just like a lagoon or whatever you could say.
The water is so dirty that you may not feel to step in. The whole lands are muddy, not having any sands at all. No beach feeling at all.
Alok Kumar — Google review
Wow❣️ There has been a massive amount of thought and money put into this area... 2 huge play structures, open grass, seating, clean toilets, a car park, walking trails, covered BBQ structures, life buoy stands. Nothing like my childhood dragging a truck tyre inner tube up the dirt track, & swim back to the beach in seconds. It was sad to see so little beach, just mud, & only a couple of metres visible from the recent floods, hopefully it improves with lower water levels

Reminding you that intergenerational transmission of knowledge doesn’t have to be traumatic, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery are running Miyagan: Relations. This exhibition celebrates artistic knowledge and skills bring passed down through generations with pieces from seven Aboriginal families.
Aunty Lucy Connelly Williams from Waradjere land lined one wall with colourful Dillybags (2019–20), while her daughter, Lorraine Connelly-Northey explores the bag form using rusted and burnt tin, mesh and wire on an adjacent wall. Lorraine takes the practical to conceptual in her piece called narrbang-galang (many bush baskets) (2019–20).
Star of the show is Emily Johnson from Barkindji land, whose work, Blak Future Mood (2018–20) appears alongside work from her grandfather. Emily’s funky series of interconnected panels, explores virtual reality and futuristic ways of living blak.
Downstairs you can visit Hardenvale—our home in Absurdia by Catherine O’Donnell, Kellie O’Dempsey & Todd Fuller. It’s a homage to the 1960s Western Sydney fibro shack—just like the one I spent my own childhood in.

Wonderful public parklands with several separate children's playgrounds, zoo and avery, cafe, pump track, and miniature train. The train runs the first and third Sunday of the month and costs $4 per person. You must wear enclosed shoes. I've seen people take the dogs on the train too. The cafe has great gelato. The zoo has dingos and other Australian animals. The Avery has a free flight area with a fish pond. Lots of fun for the entire family.

Fantastic experience. The whole family loved it. There were awesome stories about the snowy high country and how it was back in the day. The show was broken in half with 2 parts and Billy tea supplied with milo for the kids and cake and biscuits during the break between shows. The gift shop had loads in there from hats to shirts and spoons. The show was alive with animals that were well trained and gave a good impression of how even modern day farmers work with and around livestock. What a treasure! The smaller the town in Australia....the bigger the heart. Holbrook is a friendly, interesting and lovely town. Definately worth a visit.

What a cool place to stop at on your road trip to Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne. It’s got some truely awesome old submarines with a lot to explore as you wander the grounds.
If you need a break on your road trip this is the perfect place for it, no matter if it’s for the photo op, a chance to stretch or a picnic in the park.
Would love to go back and check out more of the museum portion of this exhibit however with the submarine being open all day every day, and the park too it’s an easy stop at any point on your trip.

What a picturesque place to stop on your way to or from Sydney.
We stopped here for lunch at the Holbrook bakery. Fantastic baked goods and delicious coffee, a must-visit for a snack.
The Oberon class submarine is a fantastic place to learn about Australian and British naval history. Take a photo with the huge half-submerged submarine in the park.
After this, you must visit the museum/visitors centre to take a walk through time. Stick around and watch the holographic history lesson in the centre's theatre.
As of 08/03/22, the cost for an adult ticket to the museum is $7. Well worth it.

Interesting and educational on the history of submarines, inside the museum there is a section of a submarine where you step inside and feel what it is like to sleep and work in a confine area, there is also a working periscope you can operate, respectable price $5 concession, staff are helpful and courteous, highly recommend this museum

One of the must do stopover when driving between Melbourne and Sydney/Canberra.
I know its weired to imagine a submarine displayed inland but hey the name of this town was changed to honour decorated WW1 hero Lt Norman Douglas Holbrook who captained the unsinkable terror (submarine HMS B11).
The submarine displayed is the hull of real HMS B11 submarine and you can see the sheer size of it.
The museum is great as it offers a great insight into the life of the mariners in submarine. There are 6 displays to showcase various sections of the submarine.
They have a good 3d holographic story narration for the curious minds that takes you through the achivements of HMS B11.
Amazing couple did an outstanding job gathering all the pottery pieces from 1800 era!
Beautiful pieces gathered! Mind blowing pottery pieces made for water purification, ginger bottles… just mind blowing.
You were not allowed to take photos.
Support this wonderful couple in their journey.

Fascinating display of various pottery manufacturers in Australia starting from convict times. The many photos give an insight into the people and their work sites. Explanations of pottery making techniques, like the moulds, were helpful. Going to have a good look through grandma's cupboards searching for identification marks of Aussie potters. Some of the items on display look familiar ...

An amazing museum. The stories of how the collection came together from Geoff are wonderful and really give context as to how precious this Museum is for our history. Geoff you are going to record these wonderful tales of acquisition? Classic collecting process - Notice something you are interested in at a time when pieces are largely not collected or valued highly then pursue with determination.

A superb place for any visitor interested in early Australian Pottery. This museum is vast, well presented, informative and easy to get to from the highway.
Check the website for opening times, the small fee and contact details for travellers who may be going through outside of regular open days.

Some places require two visits to absorb all that it there. This display of early pottery till 1920 has been displayed over two levels. Had so much historical research done. Perfect for potters and history buffs.

Must stop tourist attraction. A wonderful and comprehensive display of Australian pottery collected over 40 years by the owners/operators of this gem of a museum. Well displayed with illuminating texts that give you a real appreciation for the history of Australian pottery.

Amazing local, off-grid, forward-thinking, award-winning winery/cafe/restaurant, nestled away ~30mins from Albury in a beautiful hidden location, peaceful surrounds in amongst the valleys. It’s near the recently completed Woomargama Lookout, with great views of the surrounding valleys, where from some points you can even see Mt Kosciusko too. Owners Julianne and Les were amazing hosts, giving us great info about the areas, produce and their process. Eating areas are: outdoors, on deck with umbrellas for shade, and indoor, incl a comfy fireplace. Food was fresh, full of flavour. Barramundi with Prosciutto salad was superb. Great pairings with their own, award-winning Reisling. Wonderful coffee using a local Albury brew from The Brothers Cup. Great experience, will be back as we hear some sweeter wines, are nearly ready. 😉 We were treated to a special visit from Graham Robertson, an Antarctic polar biologist, who’s done a lot to help the fishing industry clean up their harmful practices. Everyone had great stories to tell. Delightful experience all around!

The first thing you notice about this place before you even get to the car parking is the amazing view...it's nestled between the Woomargama National Park just a short drive from Holbrook.
Juliane & Les are your hosts, they do a wonderful job at making you feel right at home when trying the drops produced on site as well as talking passionately about how they are produced.
There's a cafe which has a selection of to die for food & also options for those who do not drink/drink wine with beer/soft drink/coffee.
You will also find a play area along the side deck which makes the idea of having the kids along with you not so bad.
They are open most weekends and take bookings for other times of the week.
A great find!

Called into the winery today (Sunday) for a wine tasting. I was informed by an elderly gent that it would cost $20 for 4 wines per head. I commented that that was a bit expensive, I was told " my time does not come cheap on a Sunday". Too stunned to reply we just walked out.

What a hidden gem! We were so warmly welcomed by Les and Julianne and were delighted in our sit down experience with Les, sampling all those beautiful wines produced at Flyfaire and coming to understand just why they are so unique! Lets just say we now have a whole new appreciation for what a Riesling has to taste like!! Will definitely be stopping by again!

I visited recently with my 2 sisters and niece and enjoyed the wine tasting and the story about how they are produced. I loved the bottle collection on the wraparound verandah. The setting is very pleasant and relaxing. I did not taste the food this trip but will on next trip with some family and extended family from England in the very near future. The site is developing and I cannot wait to see the finished product when completed.
