A very beautiful experience. One should not miss such opportunities. I took over Jamal Rum Camp. Very friendly staff and prompt response. The food was excellent especially the grilled chicken which was cooked under the earth on desert sand. The jeep trekking was excellent. The rum balloon camp was excellent room for nice bed and toilets.

This place is outstanding.
Arrange a day tour with a local guide. Try and get a vehicle that has a canopy. You will be exposed to the sun all day and you will thank me for the shade.
On the tour you will see many of the well known sights. If you are fortunate, the guide will take you to see ancient cave art.
All in all, a must if visiting Jordan.

I don't know how I can explain how much I'm falling in love with this desert. Everywhere is really amazing and can feel a live, I enjoy every second minute everywhere I move, one time in a life you must visit here and I prefer to come back here again

An adventure like no other, a mystical place for all who are in Jordan this destination is a must. If you come diving this place is great for a nice surface interval or the last day before a flight trip. Desert areas are full of animals and surprises on every corner, and sunset is a must.

Wadi Rum is a fantastic place where there are charming golden sands, rocks and huge mountains. It is said that its nature resembles Mars, but Wadi Rum remains the more beautiful. There are wonderful and very generous Bedouins. You can spend there a good time in the bubble hotel.
Note (do not forget to watch the sunset)

It's a beautiful desert. It's a protected area. Beautiful nature. Beautiful sunsets. Cold and warm breezes make you feel so calm. You have to book a camp in this desert. It's the camp's responsibility for your transportation, food and safety. It's a must visit place in Jordan. But I have a request to the government authority to look at the plastic pollution it is causing to the desert.

Very unique, almost otherworldly, especially given that the movies the Martian and Star Wars were both filmed in Wadi Rum. The same is very fine and blows easily, consider a neck gator to ensure you can just see the same versus breathe the sand. Landscapes, rocks, sand, and bedouins make this a very unusual and amazing place.

Our overnight journey to Wadi Rum with Nomad was truly something special, largely thanks to our wonderful guide, Mohammad. Amidst the otherworldly beauty of the desert, every dune and star seemed to tell a story.
Navigating the entrance fee of 7 JOD for foreigners or those without a Jordan Pass felt like a small price to pay for the adventure that awaited. Wadi Rum, with its vast landscapes and towering cliffs, unfolded like a cinematic panorama.
Yet, what set this trip apart was the unexpected twist. One night, my friend lost his phone in the desert during a high-speed drive back to camp. Mohammad, with a mix of determination and optimism, suggested we try to find it—a task that felt impossible. However, against the odds, after 8 suspenseful minutes of driving in complete darkness, we miraculously recovered the lost phone. It was a moment that added an unexpected chapter to our Wadi Rum story.
Throughout our desert odyssey, Bedouins extended their warm hospitality, offering tea that became more than a beverage—it became a symbol of connection and shared experiences.
Wadi Rum is an experience that etches itself into your memory. The silence of the desert, the camaraderie forged under the stars, and the sheer grandeur of the landscape make it a journey worth undertaking. For anyone venturing to Jordan, Wadi Rum isn't just a destination; it's a must-have experience that encapsulates the essence of this mesmerizing country.

I spent here 14 days, this place will be definitely in my heart! My second home, I cant wait to go back again! When you arrive, you can leave your car on the parking next to the Rest House and then you can just check the village. There is not much to do, but the local people are very kind and you can get a great coffee in the restaurant near to the parking. Then you can head to the desert of Wadi Rum for incredible night in the camp or for a jeep tour. 1 day here is not enough to absorb the atmosphere and enjoy the simple life without stress.

What a great experience. Honestly book with a guide and also try to stay in one of the pods overnight for a mind blowing experience. We actually just drove in paid about $5 or so to get in then made a deal with a driver to take us to some of the key locations. Well worth the $40 we paid for 2 people.

The place it’s very nice, peaceful and diferent. The desert are crowded of 4x4 car carrying tourists around the desert but it’s quite quiet at night. Actually I was hoped more about this place but it’s only a opinion, the desert is original and I think you have to see and take your own opinion and experience. Maybe my expectations were very high and perhaps that was my problem.

What a cool place! Doing a desert safari in Wadi Rum is definitely recommended. Also we slept one night in a camp side in the desert which was a great experience as well.

This is my first experience in a true sandy dessert. It was impressive with its redish landscape, looking like the Mars terrain. Our tour included the ancient rock carvings, climbing a sand dune to see the surrounding area, and Lawrance of Arabia's hiding area. The accommodation we had was great complete with dinner and breakfast. The staff were also very friendly and obliging.
Adie Klein — Google review
Beautiful landscape of granite and sandstone. Amazing to be here and see the beauty of the land. We went around Wadi Rum via truck and saw all the main points of interest as well as a few view points to see. I see why a lot of the movies use this as a place to film, definitely looks like Mars. Amazing place, nice camps to stay at and you don’t get bothered too much which is really nice as well. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Wadi rum is an amazing desert!
We came during winter and it was very warm during the day - but pack some warm clothes for the night. We were also luck enough to catch some rain while we were there.
You can go out for a camel ride or hike some nice spots. Just be careful, that your trip doesn’t get too touristy.
Lukas Güth — Google review
My visit to Wadi Rum in Jordan was a truly remarkable experience. Exploring the desert in a 4x4 allowed us to delve deep into the natural wonders of the landscape, from hidden caves and winding canyons to towering sand dunes and refreshing springs. At each stop, we were greeted with the option to purchase refreshments and enjoyed the complimentary Arabian tea, which was a pleasant and authentic touch, reflecting the Bedouin culture's warmth and hospitality.
However, the most memorable part of the trip was spending the night in a Bedouin tent. The Bedouin hosts extended their genuine hospitality, offering us a taste of their traditional cuisine. Sitting around the campfire, engaging in conversations, and relishing their food provided an intimate glimpse into their way of life, fostering a profound appreciation for their culture.
I highly recommend the complete Bedouin experience for anyone looking to fully immerse themselves in the captivating world of Wadi Rum. It offers a unique opportunity to connect with a culture deeply rooted in this rugged desert landscape and create lasting memories.

The shopping mall is large with a wide variety of shops. Maybe the highest attraction, which was the reason we went there, is the amusement park on the top floor. From small children to adults, there are options for everyone. However, after a while, you might feel bored without spending all tokens. The market is quite the opposite as it doesn't look new, clean and fresh!

Overall a great place to escape & have fun with family and friends. This was private beach & resort with play area, good breakfast & a lot of other healthy activities. You can rent kayak, speed boat, paddle boat, bicycle, tricycle, etc. It had a few swimming pools too. The beach is private with just a few people around so you can have fun. Everything was really up to the mark but the villas can be cleaner. For this reason I am giving it four stars.

The place was below average, filthy and the furniture was stained, the place was cold and there were no rugs in the room. When it started to rain the windows were leaking and my child slipped and hurt himself. I would not recommend you to go there unless u r ok with gross uncleaned bathrooms.

It is well located, the experience is very nice in a day use. The food is amazing, the price is reasonable, the pools are great and beach is very clean.
They need to improve the toilet water pressure and cleaning. The pool water was not that clean and could be better. It was first day of eid and many people was there. Decided to continue swimming on beach and it was nice.

Let me tell you a bout a day visit on the first day of Eid al Fitr .
1-The swimming pool area was uncared that the tables and the chairs were vey dusty (some were miserably broken)we had to clean them by the wipes we brought along with us in addition to the floor around where you can see many empty bottles or thrown ice cream cups.
2- The open buffet was not that tasty and with poor variety ,for the price paid it’s shocking not finding drinks or coffee besides …really un fair.
3-disgusting toilets with broken hooks ,and unfixed hand dryers ,nor toilet paper at least.
4- The hotel allowed itself to receive a bunch of Asian “GUYS” who weren’t doing correct things in a place where families with kids are at the same time.
5-the EID program maybe was the best part but the presenter man was a bit silly with me.
It’s a pity to find a place going low, compared to the way it was ten years ago ,to this extent .

There was a bad smell coming from the washroom. AC-Fans were loud and annoying. No in-house laundry. Location is great next to the beach, the sunset view was beautiful. The outdoor area is having a lot of fun activities for family. Overall it was fine experience.

Disastrous!
I booked a family iftar and confirmed my reservation on the morning of the same day. On my arrival at their location, i went to reception and asked to give me a table. The receptionist checked and answered there is no table available. I asked him to recheck, but he insisted that it was not available. At the same time, another family approached the reception, and the same answer was given to them. As families continue to arrive, they are rejected by saying the same. In total, around 8-10 families were rejected to get the table, and surprisingly, all of them did a reservation. On getting pressure from families, the receptionist disappeared for 10 minutes. We kept waiting as other people were doing iftar, and the preak of poor ethics, nobody from the hotel staff asked any of us to drink water or break our fast.
Despite, there was no sense of apology from the staff, including the manager, and they were telling you can come another day.
When we insisted, they returned our payment in cash, as it was paid in advance.
The whole scenario took us an hour of argument and debate at the time of iftar without breaking our fast on time along with kids and females.
Iftar buffet has become a business now, and many hotels who don't understand the hospitality business are arranging iftar buffet. Therefore, be cautious to book your iftars, especially when with family or guests.
Ahmed Ishaq — Google review
The rooms are enormous and excellent in the furnishings.
However, the emergency door between the 2 rooms is not well isolated and you feel like the next room inhabitants are staying with you.
Reception services are really slow and only one receptionist is available.
The location is far from everywhere and no markets/shops around.
Food is excellent and better than some other hotels in Al Khobar.

This is a must visit place in Saudi Arabia. Well maintained tourist spot. There is a small museum explaining the story of civilization. The temperature inside the cave is much lesser than outside. Best time to visit the place is evening. You can see the lighting. There are trekking on Fridays it seems.

It was my first time to visit the place. Glad that we arrived early so the line for the ticket was not long. We enjoyed the place. We shared good laugh there because of various pose we did.
The cave was divided into three areas. The first part was where we were introduced to the history of Saudi Arabia. We were able to receive souvenirs there. The second area showed artifacts about Saudi and the third part was the cave. The cave was cold inside and there were areas inside where there was no signal.
It's a good place to visit. Outside, there's various vendors and restaurants for souvenirs and food. You can dine in or eat there.

I have been to this place couple of times before, but this was my first time traveling with my family. In the past, you could enter for free. But now there is a fee. Most importantly, i have no issues of fee but it should feel that it is worth paying.
Here is my feedback, I entered at 5pm, but it was already dark. There have been a few changes in the structure, but it's not bad because it's easy for visitors to navigate.
I will not go into the history of this place. however, it has the shape of caves, and it looks great. I recommend visiting this place at least once in your lifetime.
Ticket Price Adults - 50sr + Vat = 57.50sr
Ticket Price Kids - 10sr + Vat = 10.15sr

Must visit place for seeing the oldest caves in the region.. it is beautiful to roam around and inside the caves.. well maintained and preserved for the tourists.. also from the hill top can get the best view of Date farms and greenery around.. Kids enjoyed a lot to get into caves and climbing the rocks.. The ticket 57.5 including tax and they started taking tickets for kids also for 11.5 SAR.. But when kids enjoyed inside it is paisa wasool trip.. I recommend to visit with family..

There’s a mountain and there are caves. It is beautiful, and the place is well lit. Enter the areas further beyond the prescribed path at your own peril. Beware of its beauty and complexity if you decide to traverse further into the darkness of the cave.

Once a secluded place with no surveillance, this is now a tourist attraction with a visitor centre, paid entry, barricaded passages and CCTV monitoring.
The induction of visitor centre has ensured that the place is looked after has basic facilities for tourists (washrooms, food stalls and restaurants nearby).
It's a nice place to take visitors to KSA - they will have a good time taking snaps. There is no information to gather here, just to experience the Caves.
Its amazing to experience nature's habitat - The Caves remain cool during summers and warm during winter (all of this is natural).
A good family outing for people travelling from Dammam-Khobar. It's a drive of 1 hrs 45 mins.
There is a Park nearby and has a musical fountain in evening (closed sometimes tho).
Grassy park & beach with sculptures, fountains, a kids’ play area & waterfront promenade.
Definitely the best place to visit in Jubail of you love nature.
Beautiful palm trees with grand lawn !
Flowers are everywhere.
Unique reflexology walk available.
I enjoyed walking there with bare feet!
Wonderful picnic place!
Boats are everywhere!
Parking place is big enough.

Al Nakheel Beach was an incredible experience. I spent nearly 3hours here and found it to be superior to any other beach in Dammam.
The beach was immaculate and well-maintained, providing a pleasant and clean environment. Additionally, there is a spacious garden area that offers ample space for leisure activities❤️
I observed many families enjoying their time here, indulging in tea, coffee, and snacks. The weather was perfect - not too cold nor too hot, creating an ideal atmosphere. I highly recommend choosing this beach over any other, as it provides clean water for swimming🏊 .

Riyadh Zoo Monument, established in 1987, is a popular entertainment center and tourist attraction in Riyadh. It houses over 1500 animals from around the world and offers various facilities such as gift shops, restaurants, parking lots, restrooms, a train ride, and children's play areas. The zoo is well-maintained with safety measures like boundary walls and glass installations.
The best ever place to bring children. Very wide and clean. Too many animals from all over the world. Elephants, zaraph, zebra leopard, gecko, white lion white tiger, white deer, champenzie, monkey, eagle, love birds, Patriots, mukao birds and many more are there. Well arranged and safe. A boundary wall and a glass is installed for safety. A beautiful high fountain attracts a crowd. It was a pleasant day. Much greenery and sorrondings. Many restaurants are located inside as well. A highly recommended place. Check the weather or prefer to visit after 5 pm due to outside hit weather.

I haven't visited this zoo since I was a child. Traces of delightful memories were there, but the zoo was incredibly revamped compared to the past. I love, love love the new organized sections. What's more amazing is: it's for free! No entering fee! Usually, zoos taking care of like this one have an entering fee. The staff are AMAZING and deserve a raise for dealing with huge crowds who tried to push their way inside without making a reservation and refusing to make an organized line.

Summer of 2023 weekday visit. Bring an umbrella, a hat and extra cold water bottles. It will be a hot visit, but realize it is even hotter for the animals. I arrived by taxi. Make sure you get a green teal colored cab and not somebody random. A short trip from my hotel, but it was nice not to have to walk there since I would be walking once I arrived. I purchased my ticket at the outside counter and immediately filled that the space was friendly and safe. There are many staff around cleaning cages and feeding a variety of animals and birds. I spent 2 hours and 15 minutes exploring the grounds with a temperature of 110°. It was not busy today, no li es and very few people in thenpark today. There are numerous places to grab a bite to eat throughout the zoo. The gift shop is geared mainly toward children's gifts. I saw: lions, tigers, leopards, black leopards, bears, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, antelope, a variety of parakeets and other birds, raccoons, monkeys, apes, sea lions, goats, donkeys, flamingos and too much more to list. Toilet facilities were available in a several places throughout the park. I used the one at the entrance. I only wishbit were cooler and there was more water pools in each cage foe the animals to cool down. I truly had an amazing visit seeing so many animals in such a small place with no lines whatsoever. It was easy to get a cab home. Make sure the cab's meter is working and they have adequate seatbelts.

I'll never travel to Sharm El Sheikh without this trip planner again
The state park National Museum Park in Riyadh is known for its architecture and exhibits on the history of Saudi Arabia and Arabia. The museum has 8 exhibition halls, each with a different theme revolving around Islamic culture in Arabia.
The National Museum of Saudi Arabia is an excellent museum. It is clean and well maintained, and every exhibit has English translations.
The staff were very polite and helpful. The public space behind the museum building is a magical place and a pleasant surprise.
We will watch for new exhibitions as an excuse to go back.

The National Museum is definitely worth a visit! A detailed journey through the past awaits you here! There are many exhibits and dioramas that bring you closer to life long ago! Explanations can be found everywhere in Arabic or English script. There are also many videos and interaction options in bilingual form that loosen up the visit. The free entrance and the non-existent waiting time complete this visit! After the visit, you can relax in the beautiful parks surrounding the museum and recharge your batteries to write your own story! If you liked this review, give it a thumbs up!

Went to visit on a Saturday morning around 10am with the family. There was plenty of shaded free parking and after walking inside the receptionists were helpful. After checking us all in and paying a grand total of zero riyals they told us the general pathway we would need to take around the galleries…
The kids found it a bit boring but were interested in the short films and other interactive displays…
There were a lot of artifacts throughout and some nice model displays of the grand mosque in Makkah.
Definitely worth a visit. Plan to spend about 60-90 min walking around…

Firstly it’s amazing how such attractions are free when they include so much. Was not sure what to expect but in true Saudi style it was bigger and better. I found the sections about the formation of the Saudi nation the most interesting as well as the history of the peninsula pre Islam. Surprised to find there was a whole other section outside the main building including lovely gardens. I would recommend especially if you are also interested in the history of Islam and the prophet.

A must visit to get a taste of Saudi history and culture. There’s no entrance fee, beautiful building and calm atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There’s a souvenir shop on ground floor. They have a prayer room for men & women. A cute cafe and beautiful gardens to chill out in. I saw families bring picnics and enjoy the sunshine surrounded by flowers and fountains.
There is also a royal car museum but it was closed when we went. We still managed to get a glimpse and it was beautiful. There was also a perfume history where you could attend with a few of 30SAR (pp) but we skipped it.
It’s a lovely day out so I would highly recommend!

Not a national museum. It focuses much less on authentic history and mostly how Islam has risen through the years. The story of Islam is pretty elaborate here and interesting. The museum is not logically sewn due to which not captivating. Some artefacts and representation of Mecca and Medinah was good. Except that, it was mostly a display of stones and minerals.

Wow, the National Museum in Riyadh was incredible! It felt like a journey through time.
Starting from the universe's origins, the exhibits showed how everything unfolded in this region. They had amazing displays about the history of Saudi Arabia, from the first Saudi state all the way to modern times. There were even really interesting sections on the holy sites of Mecca and Medina.
The whole place was so well-designed, with lots of interactive exhibits. It wasn't just reading text on walls – you could really get a feel for the past. I think I might have even learned a little Arabic! If you're ever in Riyadh, definitely check it out – highly recommend it!"

The Saudi National museum in Riyadh is a fascinating place to visit. This was my second trip, the first being in 2021.
The museum itself is situated near the historic royal palace; part of a cluster of attractions allowing you to explore the history of the Kingdom.
Inside, galleries cover the history of the region from the age of the dinosaurs through the pre-Islamic period and then on to the more modern history of the Arabian peninsula, from the growth of Islam through to the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The guides are very knowledgeable. Worth a guided tour if offered.
The large meteorite, found in the empty quarter, is fascinating - you can touch it.

I loved the place! And definitely I will be coming back.
It’s kinda ironic that I am from Riyadh and I have never been to our national museum until recently.
Some areas and stands need to be updated and the parking lot kinda confusing probably because of the construction next to it.

The expansive nature reserve of Dana Biosphere Reserve, located in Jordan, spans across various terrains including sandstone cliffs and valleys sheltered by red-rock escarpments. It is home to a diverse ecosystem with over 600 species of plants ranging from citrus trees to desert acacias and date palms, as well as about 180 species of birds. Being the largest national park in Jordan, it is a popular destination for hiking due to its scenic landscapes.

Great nature area with zero other people in early December. With lots of options but little time, we chose the Wadi Dana Trail (Red Trail) as recommended by our excellent host, Ghaleb, at Wild Dana Eco Lodge. We started at the lodge, so that added some time and kilometers to our trek.
Once we reached Dana Village and got on the paved road going down into the valley, it was a very steep 1.5k to the valley floor. The entire trail is 14k and you need a ride back, so we opted to walk awhile and return. We ended up doing a total of 15k in about 6 hours. The scenery is beautiful and we recorded 11 different species of birds.

We asked information from the visitor center (at Dana Guesthouse) where we were kindly encouraged to go on a hike on our own (we also didn’t pay any entrance fee). We chose a gorgeous Wadi Dana trail (the red trail) which is a one way 14km, but we chose to hike for some time and then return. The beginning of the trail is a bit tricky to find - because you don’t expect it to be what it is. It starts from behind the Dana Tower Hotel, really in the end of the village, a paved road down the hill. There are no signs, but if you find the starting point (locals are helpful) then the rest is really easy, because you really see the road in front of you the whole time and there are not really chance to get lost. First 1,6km and app 45min is really steep way down, but as it is basically by a road wide as a driveway, it’s easily doable. We ended up doing a 7,5km and app 3hrs hike back and forth in the gorge. We absolutely loved the scenery and the views. We really recommend the hike and it’s really not that complicated.

Lawrence's Spring is a popular tourist spot located in a red rocky desert, which gained fame through T.E. Lawrence's book "Seven Pillars of Wisdom." The path to the spring is not fixed and can be started from any point. It is essential to carry water as it remains under the sun throughout the day. The climb, although steep, takes only about 15 minutes and can be managed by children aged 11,13, and 15 years old.
The way up and down to the spring is not done trough a single path. You can start from any point and make your way up to the top as you see fit. It is under the sun at all time so plan to take water. It is a rather short climb though steep of about 15 mins. We could easily manage the climb with an 11, 13 and 15 years old. On the top you’ll find a very small spring that resembles a pond and that the Bedouin have tap into to bring water down the valley for the animals.

Beautiful view of the desert after you scrambled up the mountain! Wear good grip shoes/sandals, take water with you.
First stop of the jeep tour from the village so pretty crowded at the base. On the way back to the village, we stopped here again to take a 1/2h camel ride (5jd/per) back to the village. Highly recommend the camel ride, super fun experience and just a right amount of time. The camels are cute and seem to be well-looked after!

It was challenging with the heat! You have to climb the rocks which is really challenging at some point, the hike varies between medium and hard. There’s nothing special about the spring but the view of the desert is breathtaking. Nice experience

In all honesty a bit disappointing. The scramble yo is kind of fun and it's a nice view (but so is the view from many other places) but the 'spring' itself is an uninspiring puddle of green water. Bit of a tourist attraction close where everyone goes because it's close to Wadi Rum village rather than a must see site in its own right

Beautiful views, short hike up from the foot of the hill over rocky terrain (avoiding the piping!). There's also a rock at the base with petroglyphs for extra perusal.

Most jeep tours end here. I didn't think it was worth climbing up and I'm glad I didn't. If you do, I suggest you do so very early.

Check the rock with the ancient writings, climb up the mountain (take water). The view is insanely beautiful! Then enjoy Bedouin tea when you get down. This is a regular stop for all tours - Jeep or camel, so later in the morning can become pretty crowded. Highly recommend doing it though! One of the highlights of our tour!

Make sure you do a multi day visit to wadi rum because this site and the other ocuple ones close to the village are innundated with tourists and not all that much fun. If you can get to the back of the desert you can have similar places all to yourself.
Wadi Rum Protected Area is a stunning natural environment, known for its breathtaking red-rock desert landscape that was the backdrop for the film "Lawrence of Arabia". The area offers a range of activities such as climbing and camping in traditional Bedouin tents. During the day, visitors can admire the silent panorama, while at night they can enjoy peace and tranquility under a sky full of stars. Wadi Rum also provides tours by Jeep, Camel or on foot to showcase its incredible sights.
Wadi Rum is one of the most dramatic landscapes in the world. During the day it is a tremendous, silent, breathtaking panorama. During the night it is a place of tranquility and peace under the dark sky as the flames of the campfire mixe with all the desert stars. Nowhere do the stars shine as brightly as in Wadi Rum. Our tours aim to help you experience the wonders of our ancient Desert home. We offer tours by Jeep, Camel and on foot of the incredible sights of Wadi Rum. Come try traditional Bedouin cuisine and spend the overnight stay right in the Desert surrounded by peacefulness and stars.

12% as popular as Petra - Wadi Musa
31 minutes off the main route, 81% of way to Sharm El Sheikh
Al-Siq, a 1.2km canyon with steep red-rock walls, is a renowned tourist attraction in Jordan leading visitors to temples and other sites. Its narrow passage creates an atmosphere of anticipation for the hidden city of Petra that lies ahead. The Nabataeans recognized its spiritual significance and turned it into a sacred way with various spiritual landmarks dotting the path.
We had visited during the last week of Dec and it was very cold and breezy. It's one of my favorite destinations in Petra! Amazing to see the nature and colours of the stones.
One has to walk a few kilometers through the Al Siq Canyon to get to Petra's most famous "Treasury". It looked like a way to guide people to the treasure of Petra. Unforgettable memories and it's worth the long walk.

Walking in a narrow canyon on the main trail on the way to the treasury. It was really hot out and suddenly cooled down since the canyon walls block the sunlight. Reminds me a lot of antelope canyon and the narrows from Zion national park. Even though the main trail is a long walk, walking through here made it seem very short since walking through here itself felt like part of the experience

A 1km spectacular gorge leading to the face of Jordan, the Treasury.
Early morning is the best for photos.
If you can't walk the distance, electric carts can take you for a fee.

Truly gorgeous views, rivaling the monuments themselves. The sunlight and shadow highlight the already painted canyon walls in never-ending variety. You'll need to follow the slot canyon photography strategy: take a picture, turn around, take another picture. Take a few steps, and the scene changes completely, so repeat for the next mile. Go first thing or last thing to minimize the number of people in your views. Also, you can pay to ride through the Siq on a golf cart.

The narrow passage and huge rocks makes the canyon very beautiful. Early morning views are amazing. Every turn on the road made me go wowww !!!! And at the end of the road , you will find the most amazing architecture. Take your time and moment to fill it in. Capturing and cherishing this place for a lifetime.

Al - Siq is the main gateway to the ancient Nabatean city of Petra in southern Jordan. Also known as Siqit, it is a beautiful, narrow gorge that winds for approximately 1.2 kilometers and ends at Petra's most intricate, hauntingly beautiful structure, Al Khazneh. Petra was built so that it was almost impossible to attack it. Namely, in order to enter it, you have to go through this extremely narrow canyon, up to sixty meters high in some places, and a kilometer long. Throughout history, the city has had great geographical importance. It is located between the Red and Dead Seas, so throughout history it was important to the Egyptians, Arabs and Phoenicians. It was also an important place for the transport of Chinese silk, as well as Indian spices. That is why the position of Petra is extremely important, as well as this passage to a magnificent city with many sights. It is exciting to follow the winding road and the canyon itself, which delights with its beauty in the alternation of pastel colors of orange, brown and gray. The main part of the Siq was created by natural rock formation and the rest was carved by the Nabataeans. At the beginning of the Siq, one can still see the remains of the city's gate. On both sides of the Siq, there are channels to draw water from Wadi Musa (the Valley of Moses), from outside the city to the inside. From the right, it is evident that the water flowed through pottery pipes, but the left channel is carved from the rock and covered with panels of stone, and there are spaces in place to filter water. At the beginning of the Siq the original Nabataean dams are visible, and these prevented the flooding in the Siq, and collected water for use. The floor of the Siq is paved with stone slabs, part of which can be viewed in its original location.

It literally means "the shaft." Walking through the Siq is an experience in itself. The entrance to the city of Petra is through narrow gorge, flanked on either side by soaring high cliff.
The long walk through the canyon is an exciting journey that is worth a visit not only for the historical treasures that lie beneath but also for being one of the unique geological landscapes in the world.

This is the gorge that is near the start and takes you directly to the Treasury. At some points the walking parts of Al Siq is a large space but sometimes it shrinks down to a smaller space. Really nice colored walls of the gorge. If you’re walking in the morning you get nice shade along your walk, during midday it is horrible. There are a few benches and trash bins along the way so you could take a break at times. Overall nice to see Al Siq and the water systems they built with this amazing structure.

Winding shaded passage, full of exciting surprises: multicolored massive rock formation that play with light & shade leading you finally & gently to a surprising partial vista of the Treasury.....sliwly disclosing parts of it until the whole Treasury is wide open in front of you.... lovely 3-D experience
The Treasury, an elaborate temple carved out of sandstone rock face in Jordan, is believed to have been a mausoleum. It gained fame from being featured in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Located at the end of a mile-long gorge called Siq, visitors can witness the rose-colored rock carving slowly unveiling itself as they walk through. The temple offers a peaceful experience with occasional sounds of chariots passing by.
Tips for the wonder of the world:
1. To take the great pictures of it, just go little bit on the side , there is a corner covered with the carpets, you can ask locals to take pictures over there.
2. To get the shots from the top, you need to pay about 10$ per person to the locals that will try to catch you on the streets. Don’t pay more than that.
3. Take proper shoes for climbing as some areas are dangerous :)
4. Enjoy each minute next to this beauty.

Petra is famous for its temples and mausoleums, most of which are built on the edge of the city, above the main street. Some tombs are simply designed, containing numerous burial pits in an unadorned stone mausoleum, while others are elaborately designed.
One will have to climb 19 steps to the stop and then 8 more steps through 4 pillars to reach the temple corridor before coming to a main hall with the size of each side of the hall about 28m. At the end is the Most Holy Place.
Coming to Petra is not only coming to thousands of years old architecture but also coming to the harmony between a peak culture and majestic nature.

The whole of Petra is beautiful and fantastic to finally see. Whenever you enter from the general entrance at the museum, it will be crowded up until the Treasure. Afterwards the crowds will decrease a lot.
On our second day in Petra we asked a taxi to take us to the back entrance. This was the best decision we made! We were the only ones there! We showed our tickets and walked on a paved road for 10-15 minutes until we arrived at the Great Temple.

Entry was hassle and queue free. Once in get your tickets at the ticket office and then walk to the entry point where they check your tickets and passports. We walked a while on the dirt track and through the canyon in blazing heat to get to this beautiful monument. Where a bit of ancient history awaited us. A place hidden under sand for a thousand years! An iconic Jordanian attraction and a must visit. I couldn't visit Jordan and not visit Petra. Entry is included with the Jordan Pass which waives the Visa cost, so well worth it even if you enter Jordan and only visit Petra. We absolutely loved it! We walked to the top for a better view and had tea with the Bedioun but it was worth it for the crowd free photograph opportunity. Be aware they do ask for money for taking you up to the view point we paid 4 dinar per person which included the tea. If you're too tired to walk back they have camels horses and golf carts to transport you back to the exit for between 10 - 25 Dinar the queues were huge so we walked back. Famous part of Petra. Naturally very beautiful and packed with people as well.
Many have seen this via movies, documentaries, or maybe even a video game, but nothing prepares for clearing the final steps of the Siq (the narrow canyon leading to the Treasury) and seeing it in person. Standing in front of it, taking it all in, appreciating that it was carved from the top down, and the long history is so much more meaningful than any other exposure you may have had before arriving. Experience is different than seeing on photos. Do not take the horses as cost of these is a rip off. Loved it! Experience is different than seeing on photos. Do not take the horses as cost of these is a rip off. Golf cars are available for older people or if you like to get to the treasury quickly but walking is recommended. Do not take a guide to take pictures from elevated spots because the track is not long nor confusing.

Amazing place! The best in Petra for sure. We came here in late morning and it was perfect, not too crowded. Would definitely come back, just amazing! Also worth to climb up and take pictures from the spot from above, where the locals charge a fee ro bring you. Don’t pay more than 5JD per person. Enjoy!

How can I rate one of the seven wonders of the world less than five stars? From all the books you read about this place to all the movies that have been filmed here, you will at once not believe your eyes once you see it in real life yet also feel like you’re finally seeing something you’ve always dreamed about. We came in December and the weather was perfect with few tourists crowding around. Someone also got down on one knee and proposed! A truly special place…

I have seen the treasury at Petra only in movies like Indiana Jones. When i saw the same for real for the first time, it was majestic than what I imagined or what i saw on the TV. To reach the treasury, you have to walk for 2 kms through a beautiful Wadi. The walk was so exciting because of the beautiful rock formations. The treasury is just the beginning of an exciting trip to Petra.

Amazing historical site. Mid morning and late arvo were the best times to visit - min crowds in Feb. It does get quite chilly in the shade. Bring a jacket with you.

Petra is amazing! Must see! Tourist or a local its all beautiful. Lots of rock formations shops and hike up to different vantage points to see the treasury.
Golf cars are available for older people or if you like to get to the treasury quickly but walking is recommended. Amazing place to visit and I highly recommend anyone that comes here to visit the treasury as it’s one of the UNESCO world heritage sites.

Of course an iconic site to visit.
To avoid crowds, start your tour in the morning and at the back end. This way you will not have too many people. Also, visit Petra By Night. Amazing experience but it’s not every night.

Excellent place to visit we entered from Little Petra with an hour strenuous walk to the Monastery then down past the Queen's palace , amphitheater then on to the Treasury
Then up to the viewpoint of the religious sacrifice. Stay at the wonderful Petra guest house at the entrance to Petra.
Petra, an ancient city carved into the red mountain rocks 2000 years ago by the Nabataeans, is a remarkable World Heritage Site in Jordan. It features palaces, temples, tombs and stables that were carved from soft sandstone cliffs. The city can be accessed through Wadi Musa town which serves as an accommodation and transport hub. A well-preserved site atop Jebel Madbah known as Petras High Places is accessible via steps signposted near the Theatre.
If you're in Jordon. Petra is a must Visit Place . Historic information plus Amazing scenary you will get their. One of the top location in Jordon

A must to visit place, not only in Jordan, but in the world
This wonder of a place is a city that is carved within the rocks of the mountains from thousands of years ago
To reach the “treasury” you must walk through a valley for nearly 50 minutes
It is totally worth it to enjoy the sight and take memorable pictures with this wonder of the world

Truly a wonder of the ancient world, and the principal cultural treasure of the Kingdon of Jordan. It's worth the trip.
We spent a day there and only saw the things on the main path. There are many other sites off the main trail. We could have spent two or three days exploring it all.
We should have got our admission tickets at the airport when we obtained our visas.
Don't forget Little Petra - if you have the time.
Water, sunblock, a hat, and good shoes are a must.
You can pay to be driven/carried all the way to the Monastery.
So many vendors. In some places they ruined the atmosphere of it. But they have a right to be there - It's their home. Just don't buy anything from children.

Petra is an exceptionally beautiful place filled with amazing facades on stone mountains done around two thousands years ago. It gives chill through the veins to walk along the valley pavements once used by the Greek, Persian, and Arab caravans.

There are no words to describe. You must visit and see for yourself... beautiful, stunning views. Make sure you have one full day at the list 6 hours. I spent 2 days and wasn't enough. Staff is super helpful, especially the security at the bus stop who helped me so much. Thank you. I took a buggy the second day as it helped me time wise to visit the monastery and get further and quicker. Make sure you have good walking shoes, hat 👒, sun protection, and water. There are plenty of places you can stop for tea and lunch at the Nabatean restaurant. Buy a Jordan Pass before you arrive. It includes your visa and tourist sides

Gorgeous place! Go early to beat the crowds. Did not enjoy the continuous hassling, especially by the Bedouin kids.
When you go: don't ride a horse, donkey or camel when you're clearly too heavy (like most of us). Think logically please and don't contribute to this animal cruelty.

This is one of the majestic places you will ever see in your life. This is a must do while alive, do not make the mistake and not see this wonder. There’s so much to do and see here. Make sure you start right at the beginning of the day, to make sure you see everything. I would recommend buying the two day pass, it really does take a long time to see everything especially if you climb up to the monastery.

What an amazing experience to visit the Petra historic site. It is recommended to visit for two days, so there is enough time to visit not only the Treasury, but also the Monastery, and to hike around (there are a few hiking trails, one of them gives a view in the Treasury from above).

Took the back entrance trail with my parents 55 and 62 I highly recommend if traveling with older adults.
If you feel like you can’t walk 1.5 mile and a half up in a steep incline then get on the donkey ride up.
You will be haggled and asked to buy thing be aware nothing should be more expensive than 8 dinar for snacks and drinks should be .50 max 2.

START FROM THE BACK ENTRANCE!! Ask your hotel and they will arrange the ride to the back gate. Obviously you can read many of the reviews. Petra is beautiful. It’s a once in a lifetime place to see beautiful and gorgeous heritage sight. Moving on from that you need to know it’s about a 6 to 8 hour walk or hike, uphill, and downhill. When you start from the back entrance, you see the first and essentially hike downhill to the Petra main entrance which is the Petra visitor center. By starting at the back, you save yourself the walk back from the monastery to the entrance. You can thank me later. Another positive of starting from the back entrance is that essentially you are going downhill after about a 2 to 3 km uphill that you need to do for the monastery. Have fun and good luck 🤞🏽

There are not enough words to describe Petra.
The scenery makes you feel as if it was 2000 years ago.
The route to the monestry is doable, but steep. It takes about 2.5-3 hours to reach the top.

This UNESCO heritage site is spectacular, with great access to a 2000 year old former capitol and trade behemoth. It is hard to believe antiquities can be so magnificent in technology and grandeur, but visiting Petra also fills you with appreciation for the beauty of something created 20 centuries ago and still exists.

You can stay here for the whole day. Totally worth hiking till the end to see everything. Shuttle buses available to go back to visitors’ center.

A voyage into the rich history of trade route. The exquisite carvings on the natural rock mountains are a testimony of the rich ancient history, culture, traditions, arts ,crafts and taste. Indulge your self in the rich history of Nabataean Kingdom. The place will certainly provide you a unique experience.Definitely a wonder of the world.
The Monastery is an ancient spiritual site built in 3 B.C. as a Nabataean tomb, situated within the larger historical landmark of Petra. Visitors to Petra should not miss exploring The Monastery along with the famous Siq, Treasury, Theatre and Royal Tombs. A hike from Little Petra to The Monastery is recommended, which offers beautiful views on the way up. From there visitors can navigate their way back to the Treasury through the Siq.
The Monastery is the next best structure after the Treasury. It’s quite a hike up. I’m in decent shape and I’d call it a moderate + hike. Incredibly enough there are people selling souvenirs and even cold drinks all along the way. You can stop and rest and get something cold to drink. At the top there is a shop that sells snacks and drinks. There are benches and you can sit and admire the view. I’d recommend the hike. Take your time and enjoy the scenery.
Ted Eckman — Google review
Absolutely stunning, well worth the hike and distance! So happy we went all the way as it’s breathtaking. You will not regret.
Once you get there, there’s a couple of stores for you to take a break, get food, snacks and drinks, and after you can continue with the walk to go right to the top and get an even better panorama view.
Helen Bui — Google review
Really cool place to go but the hike there during a hot day is very difficult. Lots of stairs. So beware of that! Still loved going there as this is a very interesting construction and place. You re very high and you can see a lot of things around.
Diogo Santo — Google review
After an strenuous hike up Petra's Ad-Deir trail in the intense desert sun, we rounded a bend in the path and suddenly saw it - The Monastery!
We were awed by the sheer size, not to mention the intricate columns and sculptures influenced by ancient Greek architecture. The amount of work amount of work required to construct this massive undertaking was overwhelming.
We felt the Monastery's grandeur was worth every step and breath to witness as we felt like modern explorers. What a reward and culmination of our trip to Petra!
Jonathan — Google review
It is quite a hike to get to the Monastery but definitely worth it, it is not long but the hike is going up and it's quite steep and definitely takes it out of you
But when you have made the hike you are rewarded with this breathtaking view of the Monastery there is a little cafe there where you can sit and take in views and have a well earned drink of something to eat
Would definitely try to do this earlier in the day when the sun is not so hot ,cause imagine it would be hell trying to do this in 30 plus degree heat
It is huge and still so well preserved just
Another place that has too be seen and visit on a trip in Jordan

The Monastery stands after a whooping 700 steps walk under the sun in the morning and with some shades on the second part of the climb in the afternoon. While meeting a lot of people on the way up and down it is not crowed. We walked with our 11,13 and 15 years old and it was just fine. The Monastery is an amazing building even though you can only see the outside!!!

We went early in the morning with no stops on our second day to petra and it was tiring but achievable. Plenty of shoes that sell cold beverages if you need. Less crowded than the treasury. It has a nice cave and you can take beautiful photos. It also has a rock where u can lay down relax and enjoy the view while the treasury didn't have a god viewpoint even though we did the trail up the hills.
Anna Maria Sotiraki — Google review
Hiking to the Monastery is a great experience if you have the time. It’s not easy, but it was worth the effort to see this part of Petra. The Monastery is much bigger than the Treasury and quite impressive to stand in front of.
Don’t ride the donkey. If you can’t walk yourself, then don’t go.
Sarinah Mastor — Google review
About 3.5 mile hike up 800-900 steps from the valley, but so worth the effort. The Monetary was built mid-first century AD. There is a back way to get to the Monetary, far less effort and distance to cover, but, you have to have a way to get there. There are donkeys that will be offered, this would be a personal choice, I know they are covered pack animals, but I am not convinced that includes human weight on this type of path.
Erik Oppenneer — Google review
I recommend taking the back route so you can start off with the monastery before going to the treasury and avoiding the grueling 800 uphill steps. You can pay for a jeep 4x4 from little Petra to take you to the back entrance to start. After about a moderate 3 miles or so, you’ll start to see the monastery. There’s a nice cafe with food and snacks right there. However, They were charging 1JD to use the toilet. Otherwise, very pleasant and not as chaotic as the treasury.
Helene — Google review
Taking about 30 minutes from the Colonnaded street, we reach the Monastery. The path going up to the Monastery can be challenging, especially when you encounter driven mules going up and down the path.
However the end result is well worth the effort.
Adie Klein — Google review
We took the back trail to the Monastery. Loved it. The Monastery is one of Petra's main attractions. It's worth the climb any way you get there. Great photo opportunity. We saw an Insta-girl go through her preparations, get photographed by a friend at a most advantageous position for a few minutes, then leave.
You can get a nice overhead view by climbing to the coffee shop.
Nathan Jensen — Google review
Well. This is not as spectacular as the treasury but I would still visit it for the small hour long trek (easy trekking but not recommended for elders or with disability). The route offers spectacular views if deep gorges. And the result is not bad. The monastery has a cleaner and complete look. The stone color is different. And you can enjoy staring at it from the shop in front.
Arindam Roychowdhury — Google review
Incredible and absolutely massive. I was able to do the hike 4 1/2 months pregnant and 18M post hip operation without any trouble. Big incline but everything is pretty easy steps and plenty of places to rest along the way. We came for sunset and were one of maybe 10 tourists the entire time, thanks to our local Bedouin guide.

Absolutely stunning.
The hike was worth, the views are fantastic.
When i ended up reaching this place there was Hardly any people.
Petra is not just the treasury which is 40 mins walk to visitor center, I encourage everyone if possible must visit the Monastery as well, it is worth, it’s is beautiful.

Ok, I will give you that the idea of 900 steps is a bit daunting, especially in 25°C+ heat, BUT - MY GODDD, the view is worth it.
I took breaks, plenty of them. There were so many stunning spots to enjoy the view, get snap happy, and also to catch your breath.
Some of the steps are uneven, but it's not a race so take your time and watch your step. Bring a hat, a bottle of water and wear good shoes - I did the whole day at Petra in walking sandals with no regrets.
This is definitely accomplishable by all and I would definitely recommend it!

You won’t be disappointed- absolute must to walk the 850 steps up for the view. Don’t take a donkey. Once at top there are a couple more vantage points from higher elevations.
Ron Webb — Google review
This is where the journey should begin. The Monastery has a lot of underrated viewpoints unlike The Treasury where they closed some of the hiking trails in order to avoid a lot of tourists.
It is recommended to take a photo on the pea shaped rock and there are some higher spots to visit to just be careful going up and down as it was surrounded by stones and rocks around.
Fredric John — Google review
Signaling the end of Petra is the Monastery, this is quite a long way from the start to get to but it is worth it. Also there are not too many people that make it out this far so it’s not so crowded. We got there and there was still some shade on the right side so it’s a good place to take a quick rest after hiking all the way over. Lots of nice photos spots but we liked the big rock that was a little further away, like 150 meters and took nice photos from there. Amazing architecture and magnificent building!
Josh Baltazar — Google review
Totally worth the walk up all the stairs. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and take water and snacks as it’s a long walk from the entrance. It’s about an hour from the treasury without rest stops. We didn’t have time to sit down for a drink and enjoy the view as we were rushed as part of a tour group but have a full day in Petra so you can enjoy the beautiful sights without rushing.
Photos include the walk up to and views along the way.

Definitely a “Must-do” on your visit to Petra.
We had planned to take the back route into the Monastery but it was closed because of heavy rains.
I was dreading the long climb up after reading about the 700-900 steps up but it was actually not bad at all. In fact, the walk up to the Place of High Sacrifice the previous day was much harder.
Take your time and enjoy the walk!

This is another amazing building of Petra, not as well-known as The Treasury, but about twice the size. It's a challenging walk, up 950 steps, to see The Monastery, and there are many stalls and shops on the way, selling food, drink, and souvenirs. Loads of cats to stroke on the way, too. At the top, aside from The Monastery, there are a few shops selling sandwiches, drinks (including 0% beer, which was nice), and snacks.

You can do the visit with your own car. We enjoyed the visit but we were a little bit disappointed since the predator zone was closed (according to the girl that sold us the tickets since 2016). They gave us a map with the name of the animals but there was no other information in the brochure. I think that they need to renew a little bit the installations. There is a picnic zone in the entrance and also a WC.

Nice place to visit for a change of pace, but can't say there is a lot to do there.
Nice to see the animals at a very natural and spacious environment and I can appreciate that, but gets pretty monotonousness after 30 minutes, don't expect the place to entertain the family for more than an hour.
I heard it used to be bigger, but nowadays you can mainly see only Ostriches, Arabian Oryxes and Donkeys (I'm sure I'm missing something, but no more predators at the Hai-Bar as of 2020).
V_M_P — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. I volunteered here for a few weeks, with a friend in February 2017. The staff/rangers are truly incredible people. Their devotion to the animals and the guests who volunteer is like none other. I would highly recommend stopping by this amazing sanctuary.
During the course of my volunteering I became much more aware and appreciative of desert life. I learned that the a lot of the animals within the reserve are kept away from the general public, as to keep them relaxed and comfortable. I thought this was fantastic and a very rare thing to see. Almost every place that cares for animals, also uses whatever ways they can to gain money and attention from said animals.
Not the Hai-Bar. It might not be the best for visitors but I commend them for their actions. They would rather live comfortably knowing the animals are safe and not stressed. That should be respected!
P.S. Just so you know, the desert actually contains pretty much any animal that you can find anywhere else. Just smaller, more adapted to conditions. (I'm often asked why I would volunteer at an animal sanctuary in the desert)

A little safari park with a lot of ostriches, different kind of funny deers, horses, etc. The animals are close to the road so you can see them well from your car. You need to stay in your car during the visit. If you stop next to an ostrich they will try to eat some invisible things from your car. So if you see an ostrich near a car and picking something it doesn't necessarily mean that they are feeding the animal, it can mean that the bird thinks that it can eat the car and it's really funny to see.
You need to drive on a dirt road but it's doable with any kind of car.
Ask for the CD/pendrive that explains everything about the park, it's full of interesting info.
Anna Ujvári — Google review
Not very excited tour, but definitely worth to visit. You can drive around in your own car what is taking around 30-45 minutes. You will see all animals which are living in the dessert.
Super relaxing environment. All of the food and drinks were great. The bartenders made the drinks beautifully and the scuba instructors were awesome. I will definitely come back and enjoy the serenity again. They had great music playing, the beach was lovely and the glass boat tour was nice.

Very clean and well maintained club. Swimming pools are of decent size, with nets to play water polo.
The restaurant has a wide variety selection of dishes to choose from.
I wish they had a space that's air conditioned, or add more water sprays around the eating tables.
The beach at the Red Sea is very clean, with many recliners to use and umbrellas.
Washrooms are regularly cleaned and shower areas are spread across the facility.

The entrance fee is very affordable comparing to other beach clubs. Adults 13 JD, children until 12 yrs 7 JD. The place is big with many swimming pools. For snorkeling is very good either you bring your own equipment or you rent it. I didn’t try the scuba diving, but this place has all the water activities available. Beach is good but having water slippers is very recommended, as the water has to many rocks and corals that can hurt you if walking barefoot. They have a locker service which costs 2 JD + 3 JD refundable deposit when you give the key back. Lockers are located in the women or men bathrooms, so they may ask you who needs it in case you want to rent only 1 in case of family. Staff are very kind and helpful.

Nice beach club with facilities. We went there because we wanted to snorkel without going on a boat trip. There is a reef right at the beach. Just jump in and enjoy the fish and coral.
Pools are not heated, so no swimming in the pool in winter, but the sea was our main goal, and the temperature of the water was okay, no problem to swim.
Entrance fee 13 dinar, kids under 12 are 7,5 dinar. This includes beds, towels, showers, changing rooms etc.
They also organize boat trips, scuba diving and activities such as banana boat.

Fantastic place for relaxing and snorkeling! The reef is impressive and so are all the types of fish that can be found in there.

We visited here for glass boat service. They charged us 20 jd per head. The ride was good. They showed the airplane, corals, sunken tank. Gave time to swim near Japanese garden.
They give snorkels and paddles for free. You have yo pay only if you lose it. If you visit during winter, ask them for wet suit.
At last the music was nice with panaromic view of Israel, Egypt and jordan. There are changing rooms. Okayish clean. They give towels as well.
Nice view of beach from the shore. Boat is in good condition.
Only thing I didn't like is food in the club.
Glass bottom can be cleaned weekly once..it was dirty

Well maintained private beach, worth the price as you have everything for your convenience, you'll get towels upon entering. Filipino guy makes some good cocktails ;). Downside is the food overpriced and bland.
Beware there is security check at the front, they don't allow your own drink ( except water ) and food

Private beach on the outskirts of Aqaba. There are 3 swimming pools at the top of the complex, with steps down to the beach. Loungers and towels are available, and there is a bar that serves food and drinks. Snorkelling is an option, and the reef is metres offshore and is teeming with marine life. Boat tours are also available.

Well, I'm not a fan of this type of clubs but when you are a girl traveling alone and want some piece and privacy, it's definitely the place to be.
The entrance is 13JOD, and you have a towel, shower, and changing room.
The place is mostly under cameras, so you can either lock your stuff (1 or 2 jd 🔐 don't remember exactly) , but I left it on my place and everything was fine.
There is a beach bar, a swimming pool bar and restaurant. Food is delicious, however pricy. But you usually don't go to Jordan to drink alcohol. So I was happy to taste Petra beer for almost 7 JOD but if I ever come again I'll stay on local tea coffee and lemon mint drink.

Very nice beach with clean beach, pools and sea. We enjoyed them all. Also the staff there was really nice and polite. We also tried snorkeling and everything was nice. We also experienced karaoke night with fire show which was amazing.

Private resort. Check on entry. Here you can also swim in a swimsuit. Clean and tidy exterior. But the changing room and toilets are dirty and outdated. Beware of entering the sea from the beach. There are very sharp stones. One star down for the toilets and sharp stones.

We spent a great family day in this beach club, it has a nice private beach with beach seats and umbrellas, 3 swimming pools with crystal clear water, clean toilets and changing rooms , you also get a towel on the entrance all this included in the ticket price which is fair ( 13JD) per adult. All and all it was a great experience.

Clean beach ⛱️, nice sun beds with sun shades, you spend your time playing volleyball, darts, and stretching and yoga classes. After swimming you can use the towels (included in the entrance tickets).
If you are hungry you can order some food to eat at the bar.
Also from here you can buy some boat trips to view the beautiful Red sea on glass boats or diving and snorkeling.
BTW, music is nice but I think that more traditional Arabic songs are welcomed.
The transport to here is free, you can reserve your seats from the hotel, don't forget to ask at the reception for Berenice beach. The entertainers ladies are nice and willing to help, and entertain.
Timna Park is a geological wonder and national park in Israel, containing ancient mineshafts and striking clifftops. Visitors can hike across the park to see amazing works of nature and ancient man in the mines, as well as wildlife, plants, and trees.
A desert hiker's paradise!
Amazing park! The hiking points are absolutely breathtaking.
Advise: lots of water! Comfortable hiking wear and lots of sunscreen and hats!
WC points are also limited so best to prepare!
Easiest hiking trail points are about one and half hour to two hours. We spent the whole day at Timna Park. Won't advise you to go there if you are in a hurry.

Magnificent nature park. Convenient roads take you to many attractions, there is a variety of hiking options - 30 minutes, 90, or few hours. Nature and Archeology at its best.

Important: This place is huge, the ticket is for 3 days because doing it all in 1 day is very hard. it contains many places that are very far away from one another so you drive from one place to the other by car. You can also do it on bicycle if you wish (I saw bicycles for rent including electric ones). If you are really brave you can do a lot of hiking here. Be very prepared to be protected against the sun - sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, long sleeve clothes and tons of water.
This place is what you dream about when you think about a desert. You can easily forget you are in israel and imagine you are on mars or some other deserted planet of your liking. We went only to 2 points so we didn't actually see much but our breath was definitely taken away by this alien place. The photos don't really show it, you must come to feel and see.

This lovely national park is full of great activity, beautiful sight seeing and a good place for spending the night.
We spent one night in the caravan which was clean and well equipped.
Breakfast was good and fresh.
We took the sunset tour with the local ranger - highly recommended.

There are also shaded places to have tents
Dolphin Reef is a protected beach in Eilat with abundant shade trees and a resident pod of bottlenose dolphins. Visitors can enjoy lounging on floating piers or taking a guided tour of the dolphins' habitat. Contact with the dolphins is strictly prohibited.
Fun, scuba diving swim alongside dolphins. Clean beach. Environmentally-conscious, and animal- care-conscious place. Wonderful, knowledgeable and professional guides.
Galit Yona — Google review
I have very mixed feelings about this place. We do end up here every time we come to Eilat and I like that the dolphins are free to come and go as they please BUT it’s very expensive and crowded. You just catch short glimpses of the dolphins (true it’s because they aren’t penned in which is a good thing). All of the activities cost extra and the prices are extremely high. I dunno, it’s only a so/so experience. We’ve had a much better time at some of the free beaches. The food is typical beach food with typical beach prices although I will say the Greek salad I had for lunch was quite tasty. I guess I would say, this doesn’t need to go on your Must Do list but if you’re out of activities and you need a few hours to kill, this isn’t terrible.
Rachel Shapiro — Google review
Absolutely loved it! The dolphins were so cute and the entrance was gorgeous! Defenitatly recommend if you are coming to Eilat. I would recommend to come early in the morning if you want to choose a good spot to spend the rest of the day. It gets crowded but there are still a lot of places under the trees to hide from the sun. The water was super clear and security was okay.

I and my son tried diving first time here . Very helpfull and funny instructors so no stress at all. The riff is very small here, no match for observatory, but delfinus are amazing and all the time near you
Valius Adomaitis — Google review
Suchhh a beautifull place to watch dolphinsss, the dolphins are free to wander in the ocean which beautifully symbolized how free they are and just how they love their care takers enough to come back all the time to hang around us! Beuaitufl resort right next to a very aesthethic looking wooden structure with a sight and a bar and places to sit every where on, on the wooden water floating structure u also get great and beautiful ocean views and can see the dolphins in the big circle! Before the wooden structures there's of course a beach u can chill in and just wander around shops and soveniers 💕✨

Small beach with expensive entrance fee with a little to see (compared to other Eilat beaches) with independent snorkeling.
The "swim with dolphins" which costs a little short of 300 nis left me with mixed feelings: The dolphins are impressive and the guides are very nice, but how much of a dolphin you are going to see is based on luck. Additionally the system is built as if you are an evil moron who visited the sea for the first time: you swim holding hands, no diving, no cameras allowed.
Andrey Klinger — Google review
Very beautiful tourist attraction! We saw 3 dolphins here! It’s about a luck to see them comming from the open sea! Student discount on the entry. Very delicious food in restaurant!

One of the must visit beaches of Eilat.
Seeing the dolphins so close is awesome. I got some real nice pictures and videos of them playing.
The restaurant and service are good - surprisingly tasty and priced fairly. The facilities are cleaned regularly.
There are peacocks freely walking around, which is exciting for the kids. There's even an albino peacock.
I highly recommend visiting, but you better get there right before they open or it'll be hard to find any parking. Note! Entrance is at a fee, but you get a beach the isn't crouded, even at high season.

Wow, what an gem of a place! First time ever, a beautiful, lush spot to spend the day, with or without diving. My daughter had an incredible first time scuba diving with the dolphins. The diver guide was very patient with her and she'll never forget the experience. The restaurant is fine, there's also a bar on the premises. Not cheap, but worth it!
Julia Mor — Google review
Wow!! So much to do and Beautifully designed. Lots of trees and shade. The bar was a little over priced for what it gives, and there aren't other options there. But all the waiters were really friendly. And the best thing is the dolphins, that swim around all the time And enjoy the divers and people. Scooba diving was amazing! My personal guide was sweet and patient. The corals were stunning, and the dolphins were sweet and friendly

It was my first time riding a camel, but the workers there made me feel really comfortable they were very professional and nice.
the camels was well taken care off, and they actually didnt smill wich was impressive😅.
we went to a one hour tour it was nice I think one hour is more than enough because after riding the camels fore more then 30 min you will start feealing some pain.
the tour guide explaiend to us about the anciet city... how they take care of the camels etc.
I went at 17.00 pm the weather was great, the sun not hot but worm and cozy.
pleanty of free parking.
they have sleaping options but it was expensive.

This was really, really good. It was a way better experience than my previous time on a camel… much more expensive, but worth it. This is extremely professional and the camels are clearly well cared for. It was nice and long, and the guide was very fluent in English. At 6pm, the weather was gorgeous even though it was hot, it was not uncomfortable, and the views were outstanding.
An experience unlike any I’ve ever had, and very worth it.

We had such an incredible time at Negev Camel Ranch in Dimona. We were welcomed with tea and coffee upon arriving. We enjoyed a 1hour private tour with our sweet tour guide Naama. She was so knowledgeable and explained all about the surroundings and the biology of the camels. Out tour was filled with stunning views of the Negev and the friendliest well tempered camels. A once in a lifetime experience. Definitely worth the trip!!!

So special place and very worth to be visiting. At the begining had doubts, bet we had one day (with dinner and breakfast) and 1 hour camel ride: enjoyed every minute of our visit. Camels are taken really good care, it is good to to see how people look after them. And small houses are very cozy. Overal place has really good atmosphere, tasty food and really interesting experience.

We absolutely enjoyed our trip to the Negev Camel Ranch! The trainer who took us out to the desert was very kind and attentive. They take great care of their camels. They educated us on how intelligent and sensitive the camels are. We learned a lot from that 1.5 hour ride into the desert. It was so peaceful. We also enjoyed their delicious tea and had ice cream while waiting for them to prepare the camels. One of the best experiences we had while in Israel. I would recommend it to you as well! My kids were only 5 and 4 at the time. They loved it!

There are many beautiful camels in the south of Israel. But if you didn't reserve time, you can't ride even around ranch.
Nataliia Honcharova — Google review
My bf and I LOVED our one hour camel ride through the desert. It was very easy to reserve online the night before when we decided on a whim to do this. We happened to be the only two there for the 10am ride on a Saturday so our ride was private and this made for such an awesome experience! We also lucked out with cooler weather (still 80s) and a nice breeze for a lot of the ride. A huge thank you to our guide, Ahmed, for teaching my bf and I all about camels (They’re remarkable animals!) and for sharing with us an abbreviated history of Bedouin ways of life, past and present. We had the most insightful/peaceful ride through the Negev Desert with Bella and Petra (Our camels 🙂). Ahmed was absolutely wonderful, and we knew immediately we were in the best hands. In the short time we had together, we chat and laughed with each other about our lives and it was hands down one of our favorite experiences in Israel. Ahmed made us delicious tea after our ride, which was really nice. One day, we hope to come back!! This farm is a magical place with the sweetest camels, and the best hospitality. Highly recommend this place!

Sick ranch plus stunning scenery coolest ride. Best part of our trip. Just watching my father get on it was worth it. But honestly randomly found this place and we didn’t know what to expect driving there was scary we thought it was our last ride but when we got there like such good service and they even have hotel situation you can stay over. It’s mad easy to book and it’s such a good deal for a full hour. seriously a total 10.
The beach pavillion Eilat Coral Beach Nature Reserve is a beautiful coral reef and swimming spot that offers snorkeling, swimming areas, and footbridges. It's one of the best places to dive in Eilat, and the offshore seas are home to a vibrantly brilliant world of coral and darting fish.
Great beach if you want quiet and snorkeling. Bathrooms, showers, snorkel rentals. Lots of shaded areas and picnic tables. Not much parking but you can park across the street

Our preferred place in Eilat!
Every time we are in Eilat we go to this place, the best still and ever.
Actually we were there every day, not a problem as we slept at the Yam Suf Hotel, only a 5 minute walk to there.
1. the beach is incredibly looked after
2. The Reserve guards are watching all the time for trespassers so very little chance something bad could happen to you while swimming
3. and of course the corals and the fish.
Yes the coral are less beautiful than in the previous years, the mini tsunami a few years ago did damage the reef, but still they are interesting and the fish are till there and still super beautiful.
Don't "FOMO" it, would you?

It is a well organized reservoir, with a variety of fish and corals. There are shaded places to sit with beach chairs and picnic tables.
I like the extra activities (movies about the reef, corals guide and guided snorkeling tour, and all are included in the entrance ticket)

Great place. Amazing biodiversity, the beach is nice and convenient. The corals are very close, and you can almost touch them (but you shouldn't). If you don't swim it is still nice to look on the fish and corals from the pier. There are lockers with USB charging stations, and the place is very relaxing.

Very beautiful there is a free version which is quite crowded, but if you pay a little you get a clean, beautiful and not crowded at all beach. The fish and coral are incredible and I was particularly impressed with how careful the lifeguards were with the wildlife. Would definitely go again

One of the good beaches in Eilat
Clean, had toilet, shop, walk route, bridge directly to Red see with excitement view of corals, different fish types

It's better come with your own equipment
Pay attention - NO SAFE GUARDS

Amazing place! Make sure you take snorkels! For 35 shekel, the place offers quite an experience! A long stretch of white sand, beautiful reefs to snorkel and pretty secure!
The Underwater Observatory Park in Eilat is a huge aquarium complex with an observatory that takes you under the water to see the reef and the fish and coral. The highlight of the aquarium is the Coral World Underwater Observatory, which has two large display halls that descend 12 meters below the surface of the Red Sea.
Wonderful. From walking through the lively coral reef to the 3D cinema which is unlike any other I have witnessed. The screen goes above the head so that it can be protected from any point in the room and looks like the whole is above you.
It is also not all inside, you can take a nice walk in the sun between the different sections of the aquarium .
Does not compare to the London aquarium in the slightest.

We’ve been to aquariums all over the world and this isn’t the glossiest or the most high tech. But my kids love it and beg to come back every time we are in Eilat. There’s lots of different things to do that keep everyone entertained and you cannot beat seeing fish in their actual habitat. We love this charming little place. The 3-D movie was a huge hit!

This place is a must see for young and old.
It is a beautifully maintained park, with a big variety of coral. The underwater observatory is absolutely amazing. The water of the red see is also accommodating the coral beautifully.
The aqua dome is also an experience like none other. The whole is turned into a 3D video and it literally feels like you are under the ocean and touching the sea life yourself.
The shark pool is amazing to visit during feeding time as there are divers who get in and feed them.
It is really a world to visit and enjoy every second. There is lots of souvenir shops and also restaurants. And obviously what is better than a nice-cream on a hot day in a wonderful place 🙂

A real fun place for kids, but also for the sea animal lovers. We had a guided tour and it was perfect and well explained. I enjoyed every bit of it. I would have enjoyed more if the glasses were a bit cleaner. Nevertheless, it was fun.

Great place to visit. Easy to get to by bus from Eilat. You can buy tickets online or at the gate. The exhibits are lovely.. sharks, stingrays, corals, turtles, octopi, fish. Climb the observatory to the top to see great views of the Red Sea.. then go below sea level to view coral and fish. Try and avoid Jewish / school holidays is it gets very busy. The 3D movie was an extra .. it was not so good.
Makhtesh Ramon is an extraordinary geological feature and erosion landform located in the Negev desert of Israel. It spans 40 kilometers in length and 6 miles in width, boasting a unique mountainous terrain with diverse colors and shapes. This natural wonder offers stunning landscapes that are perfect for hiking, biking, or simply enjoying the silence of the desert. The starry nights are also a spectacle to behold. Additionally, there are luxury hotels available for those who prefer refined accommodation options.
Unique place in the world. The mountains have different forms and colours. Geological treasure

The Mizpe Ramon crater is the closest most of us will ever get to feel like we are exploring another planet. It's a surreal geologic experience. Taking a four wheel drive in late afternoon is a must do. If you are in Israel you need to do this crater. It's easy to get to by taking a train to Bersheeva and then a bus to the small town of Mizpe Ramon. We spent 2 nights in a hotel on the rim so had plenty of opportunity to photograph sunrise, sunset, and moonrise. The hotel had a grand all you can eat breakfast.

The Makhtesh Ramon in the highlands of Israel’s Negev. It’s the area in the south where Moses and the Hebrews wandered for 40 years before entering the Promised Land. The sheer cliffs are fitting metaphors for two turning points in this very wilderness—one for Israel and one for Moses. The Lord told Moses to speak to a rock and water would flow for the people. But Moses’ anger toward the people’s unbelief got the best of him. Instead of speaking to the rock, Moses struck the rock—as he had successfully done before (Num. 20:11). God graciously provided water, in spite of Moses’ actions. However, God also rebuked Moses because his “unbelief” put a ding in the Lord’s reputation. Ironically, Moses had called the people “rebels” before he struck the rock, and the Lord later told Moses that he also had “rebelled” in striking the rock (Num. 27:14). As a result, Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land. How essential that we look at the panorama of our future not with eyes of fear—but of faith.

Such a beautiful, natural and untouched oasis. Great hiking!
If you have any questions as to whether g-d created the earth, visit Makhtesh Crater and you’ll have the answer.
And check out the Museum which does a great job of illustrating how the crater formed.

8.28.17 - We only drove through the crater and that alone was pretty cool. However, the views from the road heading down into the crater from the Israeli side is inspiring.
The nature center is very informative and the rangers are relatively nice, but it might take a little bit of effort to warm them up. There are nature trails you can take, but make sure you arrive early enough otherwise it can be a dangerous path where you can fall off the edge or run into a family of goats/rams (something we saw).

Looking like a surreal place from a Science Fiction movie, the Makhtesh Ramon is an extraordinary nature sight in an otherwise quite boring surrounding. You can eather take a stroll along the crater's edge or take a hike through the Makhtesh. Make sure to visit the Infocenter before in order to get hints regarding hiking routes. Also be sure to start early in the morning as it tends to get very hot already before noon.

I've camped out in this Makhtesh twice, and it only gets better with every trip. There plenty of options around the desert area to do before you pitch a tent at night. For example, you could bike ride, camel ride, or go on spectacular breath-taking (literally) hikes! If you want to go straight into the night, there is a night activity I highly recommend which is called SOLO. This is where you walk in a secluded part of the desert at night and sit under the stars for at least 20 minutes. No electricity what so ever (except your flashlight to see where you're going but when you're sitting...lights off!). It's absolutely something to try. Seeing the many stars at night illuminate the sky and the moon shining on them all, is an enlightening experience.

Makhtesh Ramon Crater is situated in 30 minutes drive from Avdat National Park.
*Even though Makhtesh Ramon means "Ramon crater" in Hebrew, it is not the crater from meteorite, nor from volcanic eruption. It is the world's largest natural "erosion crater" .
*Hundreds of millions of years ago, the Negev desert was covered by an ocean. Due to tectotic movements the ocean started to move to the north, leaving behind a steep cliff.
*There is only one settlement in the Ramon crater area, the small town of Mitzpe Ramon. Its name means "the viewpoint over Ramon crater" & it suits it very well since you may see this amazing sunrises over the crater right from the edge of the town!
*There are no “working hours” of Ramon Crater, but there is a Visitors center, as well as several restaurants & hotels around so you can stay here for a night to enjoy the desert, the sunset & the sunrise in this magic place!

Nestled in a picturesque setting, Castle Zaman is a remarkable slow-food restaurant that promises an unforgettable experience. The stunning infinity pool and delectable cuisine make it a perfect choice for a romantic getaway or simply unwinding amidst breathtaking scenery. With its medieval charm and attentive staff, this hidden gem offers exceptional hospitality. Guests rave about the delicious flavors of the food and the impressive selection of beverages, from refreshing smoothies to a full bar.
Magic place with amazing good food and nice service. Only a group of young upper-class people wich created a bad atmosphere with endless discussions about the very transparent rules for using the pool. My admiration went to the superior owner for her friendly patience towards the very disruptive guests.

The location is really nice and the view is awesome, hence the 2 stars. But if you are a vegetarian, I cannot recommend this place at all. Its highly overpriced for the meal you get (there is only one vegetarian option which was 80 % rice and a little bit of vegetables) which was 45 euros without any drinks, starter or dessert. Me and my vegetarian friends were extremely disappointed, because given the price the dish was just ridiculous. My friends who ate meat liked it a bit better, but also not in the range what you would expect if you pay 45 euros for one dish in Egypt. If you don't care about money and love a beautiful location and view, then this might be the perfect place for you.

This my yearly visit to one of the most beautiful spots in Egypt.
I have some sort of magnet that keeps bringing me to castle Zaman. 1st visit was over 10 years ago. Yet the place never list it charms. Highly recommended to visit. Enjoy a dip in it’s unsalted “pool” of spices me sort. A swim or a snorkel at its private beach at the Red Sea is a great experience too.

Once again I would like to thank Castle Zaman for an unforgettable time and delicious meal. The portion were very generous and perfectly prepared. We opted for Fish for a light lunch. My German friends were so impressed by the quality and service that they will come each time they are in Sinai.
Thank you 🙏😃

A very emotional experience to remember the history and to hear Ilan Ramon's last words in the space with his family. And when the video was over and the curtain opened slowly, the entire view of Ramon Crater was unfolded in front of us. What a strong emotional moment! A very unique experience of visiting the Ramon Crater. It's also part of the Matmon network of Israeli Parks Authority. So if you have Matmon, don't miss this place.

Cool views of a crater on the way to Eilat from TLV. I would have rated it 5 stars but we went to Petra the next day and this is NOTHING by comparison. It's kind of like a miniature Grand Canyon. A mini canyon.
Atlashrugger — Google review
Thece Mitzpe Ramon visitor's center uses recent technology to create an awareness of Ilan Ramon's achievements while also explaining the unique geology of the Ramon crater.
I enjoyed the visit but would not recommend it for everyone.
Neil Churgin — Google review
The center is very nice. However, the only thing I remember from it is the ticket I got in the parking lot. To be fair, there is a large sign in the lobby that you need to pay. By the time I got back to the car, I already had a ticket waiting for me. So there is a dedicated person who's job is to wait for visitor cars and get them a ticket. It's "nice" to understand where their income comes from. Sorry. I will not visit Mitzpe Ramon again. That's the last income you'll ever see from me.
Yuval Koren — Google review
An absolutely breathtaking taking setting with spectacular multimedia presentations in multiple venues. We'll worth the effort to get there. Good public makes getting there trivial. We had good accommodations an easy walk from the center.

A new promenade being built along the lip of the Makhtesh makes this place even better than before!
Ariel Shalev — Google review
This is a very impressive national park. It’s a hour long tour that consists of various short videos that tell the story of the Israeli astronaut who died in the Challenger explosion as well as telling about the impressive crater formation. Afterwards we had delicious authentic (and inexpensive) food at the restaurant. It was great and very worth it.
Jennifer Leach — Google review
A not to miss site when in the area or just passing through.
Firstly, the sights cannot be ignored, the visitors center sits right at the edge of the crater, unraveling magnificent views and a unique landscape. In addition to all the splendor, its not rare to see antilopes roaming around freely. Please keep them safe and healthy and avoid feeding them.
Secondly, the center itself is informative with helpful explanations of the area, the wildlife and how the Ramon crater was created . Visitors who wish to connect more to this beautiful landscape, can inquire about the hiking trails and activities offered, as there are plenty of ways to explore. Just make sure you have plenty of water and snacks with you.
Furthermore, theres a whole section dedicated to Ilan Ramon, israel.s first astronaut, in memory and honor of the whole 2003 space shuttle Colombia.s crew and its tragic misfortune. And though one may wonder, the crater is not named after the late astronaut.
Theres a resturaunt near by, plenty of parking and the whole site is wheelchair accessible.
Best times to visit are sunrise and sunset due to the bursting display of colors. My personal favorite is the sunrise when the site is still considerably empty and the views are to die for, and you still have a full day of exploration in front of you. Take note that the visitor center will be closed, so mind the hours.
Highly recommended.
Hila Om — Google review
Tips: 1) in the room with the semicircular blackout curtains and projector, be prepared to take photos after the movie 2) the overall tour takes about 50 minutes 3) the final movie is the most skippable if pressed for time (it's about the evils of light pollution and isn't as unique to the site).
If you're not pressed for time, certainly worth a visit. There's a series of movies - most of which are informative- half focus on the crater, half focus on the first Israeli astronaut, Ilan Ramon, who perished aboard the Columbia in 2003. The front desk staff are helpful, Toilets clean, and there are some souveniers for sale.
Bryce Hwang — Google review
A short and sweet review of the Ramon crater, how it was created, the darkness it inhabits, which enables stars to shine in the sky, and a tribute to Ilan Ramon, Israel's departed astronaut.
Very enjoyable, informative and kids will find it interesting.
In addition, there's a restaurant nearby, and parking is rather abundant.
Highly recommended.

One of the most beautiful places in earth!
However..one of the ropes that are using as a "fence" before the cliff is torn so don't leave the kids by themselves even for a second specially the youngest among them!
Elad — Google review
Interesting facts and videos on how the crater was formed and which animals live in the desert today. Would have liked to see a bit more of that.
As a tourist interested in the crater I would expect the visitor center to cover mainly that, rather than show the life story of an astronaut. Did not really get the relevance.
The Blue Hole, situated on a reef 8km north of Dahab in Egypt is a famous diving location. It is essentially a large sinkhole that drops down to incredible depths, making it suitable for experienced technical divers. For those who prefer to stay closer to the surface, there are still plenty of marine creatures to observe around the outer rim. Jumping into the hole from its edge provides an experience similar to skydiving.
One of the most beautiful places in the world for diving and snorkeling.

Try hiking the mountains next to the fast boat meeting point. The view is magical up there.
Taking a fast boat to Abu Galoum from here is very unorganized, its not safe for pregnant women, children or anyone with back problems.
It costs EGP 120 per person for two-way trip to Abu Galoum excluding car rides.
Passant Effat — Google review
Honestly not worth visiting. Diving at lighthouse in Dahab is much better. The Blue hole is so big and steep, that cannot even see the complete hole unless you have a drone. The beach is just rocks and the place is stressful and just has bunch of big restaurants - a real tourist trap unless you are diving.
You can take a taxi/truck from or to Dahab for something like 100 EGP, or a boat to Abu Gulum for 50 EGP. But usually it is visited as part of a snorkeling trip.
Sebastian — Google review
Just before the boats to Abu Galoum, there are some wooden posts: that's the bells. Here you can enter for snorkeling/diving to the Blue Hole, without destroying the reef, as there is a mini-canyon. When you look down, it's really deep right away, its great. From here you can follow the reef up to where it slopes down, where you go over the reef into the blue hole, which you can exit at the stairs. The reef here is probably even nicer than the actual blue hole.
Ewoud — Google review
It is a place where you should start your blue hole snorkeling trip from.
It also has the fast boats which take you to abu Galom.
The current is hight sometimes so you have to take care while snorkeling there.

Jabal Mousa, also known as Mt Sinai, is a biodiverse nature reserve that boasts of archaeological ruins. It holds great significance for Christians, Muslims and Jews alike, who believe that Moses received the Ten Commandments from God at its summit. The mountain's scenic beauty makes it an easy climb offering glimpses into biblical times for pilgrims. Jabal Mousa is situated in southern Sinai's high mountain region which adds to its magnificence.
Should be labeled more clearly for such an iconic location but this is what comes up when search for Mt Sinai. The Mt Sinai Greek Orthodox Chapel is the correct location of the top of the mountain so will review that also to hopefully make it more prominent in search results.
This was a wonderful trip!! We did not want to do the all night hike with tour groups out of Sharm so we hired our own taxi and spent the night in St Catherine. Wonderful!!

Easy hike good for beginners. There are resting spots near the peak where you can rest and eat or drink something while you wait for the sunrise. The sunrise is also one of the best that I've experienced after mount Catherine's sunrise.

I visited Mount Sinai in December 2019. I started the hike after midnight to arrive at the mountaintop a few hours before the sunrise to secure a good spot for the sunrise view. As the first light pierced through the darkness, the layers of mountains shrouded in the mist emerged in front of me. The perfectly round sun disc appeared moments later, making it the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen in my entire life. The mountainous landscape around Mount Sinai was also very unique and exotic. It was definitely one of the most memorable trips I experienced.

The Best experience of this trip. More than five stars. I would definitely climb the mount if I visit again. Took 3 hours of climb but the views and the spiritual attributes of the Mount summit made it worth. I got to the top before sunset and watched the sun go down behind the mountains of Sinai!! On my way down I watched the moon rise behind the peaks and it was spectacular !!

Claiming at night to see the stars and the sunrise is an amazing experience. Hot drinks and snacks are available during the claim and on the top. You can also rent a camel to get you 2/3 of the trail up.

This was a pilgrimage at the top of the mountain where Moses is said to have received the 10 commandments. The journey is long and rewarding. All parts of my patience and resilience were tested. The most difficult part was climbing the last 700 steps but we made it to the top of the mountain for the rewarding sunrise at 6am and back down the mountain.
It's very cold at the top, you'll question all the layers you prepared for the trip

One word - magical! Stunning sky with crystal clear stars during night trekking and a mesmerizing sunrise. I found it little challenging due to lack of rest and intense travel, and took around 2 hours with multiple rests, but doable in 1.5 hours if you have decent fitness level and rested. Plan so that you definitely reach the top by 4/4:30 AM and get a good place and rest.

Magical place, guide highly recommended. The track takes about 2 to 3 hours up and 1 to 2 hours down. From parking lot it is 13 km in total. Super easy, you can even take camel to the point, where 700 stairs are starting. We went on sunrise.

Absolutely lovely and peaceful hike. The path to the summit is a great challenge if you’re physically fit. There is an abundance of people offering camel rides if you need additional help for a small fee.

It absolutely lovely, thou climbing up the hill takes time, and the 750 steps at the top make it look like you are treasure hunting----
Of course, you can get a camel ride (taxi) in case walking becomes a problem

Such a beautiful place, it's a long hike but definitely worth it if you want to catch the sunrise or sunset.
Motaz — Google review
I don’t know whether Moses received the 10 commandments in this place or somewhere else in Saudi, but I can tell the trek is pleasant and the view from the top is splendid.
The massive drawback is the lack of care from the responsible of the site and the total disrespect from lots of visitors throwing their trash everywhere.
Plastic bottle, bags, cans,… are paving your way to the sacred mount.
Shame on you Guys!!
SIMPLE SOLUTION: FORBID VISITOR TO ENTER WITH SINGLE-USE PLASTIC.
The parks, such as the World’s End in Sri Lanka, which implemented this rule preserve the nature of their site and generate sustainable revenue at almost no cost.
Stephane Ruellan — Google review
An amazing experience. Do this trek at night and watch the most beautiful sunrise ever.
Afzal Ismail — Google review
Unique experience! You get to see where Moses prayed for 40 days and nights as well as Elijah Basin.
You can rent a camel for 25$ and do 2/3 of the trail. Once it gets very steep you must do it on foot (be careful, it's a bit slippery). Food and drink are available every 10/15 min as well as bathrooms. It feels a bit like in the Himalayas.
You reach 2285 m of hiking once you reach the top. I hiked from 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. to get the sunrise at 6:30 a.m.
The Bedouin guides are only paid 15 Egyptian lira which is nothing. Try to leave a tip for them (bakshish )

Extremely exhausting but just as rewarding. It was challenging to climb the mountain at night, but seeing the unpolluted night sky was definitely worth it. Sunrise at the top was breathtaking. Seeing all the things in broad daylight as we were coming down was a one-of-a-kind experience.

Saint Catherine, South Sinai Governorate 8730062, Egypt
Saint Catherine's Monastery is an ancient Greek Orthodox monastery that houses a library of ancient manuscripts, a church adorned with icons and a picturesque garden. It was founded in AD 330 by Byzantine empress Helena who built a small chapel and fortified refuge for local hermits beside the burning bush from which God spoke to Moses. It is regarded as one of the oldest continuously functioning monastic communities in the world.
It's one of the important Christian religious sites in South Sinai and Egypt.
It's a very good experience to be there and see the 3 religions side by side in the same place, Jewish, Christianity and Islam.
It's a very important trip if you go with a tour guide to let you know the historical importance of the place and how it contributes to the Egyptian religion history

This historic religious site is a unique special "Must See" site for any traveler to the Sinai. Visitors should arrive there early enough as it opened its doors for visitors between 9:00-11:30am daily except Fridays and Sundays. The Monastery houses the 2nd largest manuscripts library second to none but the Vatican library. Simply fantastic

From Dahab, our journey to St. Catherine's Monastery on the Sinai Peninsula was nothing short of magical. The transfer service was seamless, setting the tone for an extraordinary day. As we stepped into the grounds of the monastery, we were immediately enveloped in an aura of tranquility and historical significance.
The monastery houses an impressive collection of relics that left us in awe, each piece telling a story of faith and history. One of the highlights of our trip was the climb up Mount Sinai. To enhance our experience, we hired a local Bedouin guide for 650 Egyptian Pounds. His expertise not only enriched our understanding of the place but also ensured a safe and enjoyable hike. The path he took us on was both challenging and exhilarating, offering breathtaking views at every turn. The most surreal moment came at sunset.
As we descended, the psychedelic effect of the changing colors was mesmerizing. The rocks transformed under the setting sun, creating a kaleidoscope of hues that seemed almost otherworldly. This visual spectacle was a fitting end to a day filled with spiritual and cultural enrichment. In summary, our visit to St. Catherine's Monastery was a five-star experience. It was a perfect blend of spiritual discovery, historical exploration, and natural beauty.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Dahab and looking for an unforgettable excursion.

It is a long drive from Sharm Al-Sheik, so if you aren't into long drives you can skip it. I did it on a tour and it was interesting but not as interesting as other Egyptian monasteries. It was pretty, but I was disappointed that I couldn't see the whole monastery or any monks. You can also check out the monastery on your way to hike Mount Sinai. The highlights were seeing Moses Well and where he saw the Burning Bush. As a Christian it was really interesting. If you are really religious you will love the chapel, I didn't take any pics there because I feel it is disrespectful.

Very nice place. The hike to mount Sinai is totally worth it, you may want to get there to see the sunrise, is magical. Just take into account that it will be a little cold on the top so take a jacket or something. We started walking around 3am and got to the top around 4.30 am. Check the sunrise time and be on top about an hour before to see how the mountains start to appear before you. I also recommend to take some food, even tough there are some Coffe shops there, you can only get chips and coffe, not much. If you don't want to walk, you can take a camel ride to nearly the top (might have to do the stair part on foot, about 1 km), but is super uncomfortable, I won't recommend it.

The majestic Monastery of Sinai is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its unique importance in the traditions of Christrianity, Islam and Judaism. The trip was an awesome experience. We chose the night walk to see the sunrise on top of the Mount Sinai. The trip started at 10PM with a 2 hour bus drive from Dahab to the monastery. From there the driver organised the entrance fee for the group. The walk starts from 1500m up to the top of the Mount Sinai at 2290m. The walk can be challenging for some people because you climb in total darkness, so bring good shoes, your own torches or headlamps. You can also do most of the way with a Camel ride. Bear in mind that the Camel will not go up the 758 final stayrs. And by the way I highly recommend warm clothes (November), take enough water and snacks. If you don't, no problem there are some shelters along the way where you can buy water and snacks. We organised the trip very briefly through our Hotel. The costs are 25 dollars per person which includes the transportation (up to 2h drive one way), entrance fee for the site of the Monastery and the climb with a guide of the Mount Sinai.
