Amazing place to visit, I love it

Nice, unfortunately a part of it was closed for renovations. It is not vary well maintained and that is a pity. It was freezing cold inside in mid January. I guess they have not warm it because of economical reasons, but this is a big minus for the few tourists interested in the castle. Sunday, as many other castles in Slovenia, it is closed. This castle is opened during the week days and until 13:00 on Saturday. I actually added the opening hours for google because it was not even showing. It's clear that they lack tourists, but this opening hours don't help at all. People are mostly free on weekends, so how could someone visit anything if it is closed?! 🤔

The castle is not in a good shape. There is no hint its Hungarian origin (Szapary noble family). The park around the castle is well-maintained and relaxing

Didn't go inside, just visited to the courtyard. However it's one of the main sites in town. Worth a visit probably. The courtyard has a small cafe with drinks and seating area.

Castle is nice, exhibition is rather boring if you know Hungarian history. Texts are a bit repetitive.

Beautiful castle with lot of interesting things to see for all age groups. Probably the only place where you can still handle old guns. The castle is open on Mondays in peak season!

Love this place!
I love museums anyways...
This one is a lot of reading and tabloids on the wall with history in a fairly small but old castle. There are some quirky bits, like the lookout tower (I have vertigo, so only the hubby went up there with the older kids), rung the tower bell. If you go, although it costs a bit extra, it is worth watching the 3D movie about Hungarian history. For tourists it gives a really good summary, for Hungarians it is a cool short film to remind one of the school taught facts and stories. The best time to visit is the beginning of August, when there is a historical fair in the whole of the city centre, called Ostromnapok. It lasts the whole weekend and you can time travel back into the Middle Ages - eat the food, listen to the music, play the medival games or witness the re-enacting of the Hungarian-Turkish fights of 1500s with lots of soldiers and even cannon shots, the castle being the centre of attention. You can also buy memorabilia in this Mediterranean feel gem of a place.
Bernadett Davies — Google review
You can learn about history and have fun - medieval style clothing is available to try. Good fun with kids. Also the exhibition is interesting and you can have a nice walk around. Atmosphere is friendly and the castle hosts many cultural activities during the year. The most popular is the "Siege days" in August.
A must for anyone who loves crystals...the museum has a wonderful collection...I really enjoyed it

Very interesting place, some historical facts and a good exhibition of stones and amber. Something nice to do in a rainy day.

Very kind hosts and well designed museum despite of the small place.
All scenes are informative and provide a full picture of the history of stone mining. Also great insight about the arts of stone sculpturing. Congratulation to Poetsch family.

The Fire Tower is a noteworthy historical structure in Sopron, constructed during the 13th century. Its spiral staircase, consisting of approximately 200 steps, leads up to a balcony that offers panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside. Once utilized as an observation post for spotting fires, it now serves as a popular tourist attraction with an entry fee of around 1200 HUF per adult. The ascent to the top may involve some caution due to narrow stairs.
City on the palm of your hand, spectacular scenery, view fabulous, museum is full of beautiful artefacts... Certainly worth visiting

Symbol of the town. Beautiful 360 view. They increase the student price to 1200ft. Or i got scammed? 🤔
Noor Roziana — Google review
Beautiful town and amazing view from the top of the fire tower!!
Deepthi Ramesh — Google review
A very stunning and interesting landmark. You can learn a lot about the tower's history, as well as the city's. The tower also offers a great panoramic view.
Martin Holzapfel — Google review
I would say this represents the focal point of Sopron and with the great 360 degree views from the tower is definitely worth a visit. But you can combine this scenic experience with cultural interest by including the lapidarium which contains carved stone elements, some dating back to Roman times. Also if you go down to the basement you are standing on part of an ancient Roman road.
Miles Macdonald — Google review
Definitely the symbol of the city! Indeed it is really a gorgeous monument, which can be seen from different parts of the city! Anyway, it would be literally amazing if you can even acces it to enjoy an amazing view of the city but I am not 100% sure this is not possible to do!
Andrea Nori — Google review
Lovely place . The old city is full of romance.
NK L. — Google review
The biggest site in Sopron, the fire tower is a must visit. A former tower used to spot fires. You have to pay something like 1200 HUF to visit for an adult. There are only stairs to go up, but its not that many, and you actually do not go to the very top of the tower. Along the way are some visuals and descriptions that explain the history of the tower and the city. At the top the views are great, overlooking the entire city and countryside.
Paul Heller — Google review
Beautiful view of the city with a rich history. If you love history and architecture then this place is for you.
Rasheed Palacio — Google review
Very nice view~ In the night, the tower have magical lights. Really looks so good.
(The stairs little bit tiny, so be careful when you go to the top, or go back to the ground floor)
Imposing medieval castle, now home to a museum displaying treasures of the noble Esterházy family.
Very nice to visit! Definetly get a tour to take you around, as otherwise the loads of pictures of owners will be a bit without context. Some written infosheets in all rooms though.
Restaurant is also worth a visit if you are there and hungry!
Roland G — Google review
A very nice castle. I liked it a lot. On the hill, above very beautiful little town. Parking lot is free of charge. There is also a nice Cafe/restaurant on the site. Museum inside castle is very interesting. There are so many interesting things to see and learn. Staff was more then friendly and polite and very professional and helpful.
For every recommendation.

What a surprise this restaurant was, the location at night was spectacular, so we can only imagine how nice the view would be through the day.
The food was top class and the the decor was a very high standard and off the beaten track.
Colin Downie — Google review
A place with beautiful history and one of a kind weapon collection! It is only possible to visit the place as part of a tour during the winter season, and, unfortunately, the English tours do not take place during this season. The staff was very kind, though, and gave us an English booklet including all the details.
Vanesa Vazharova — Google review
Wow, despite of the freezing winter weather, the castle and the way there was really amazing! The castle can be seen from far away, and is a really unbelievable sight, approaching from the villages below. The frozen forests added a lot, too. Unfortunately, in the winter season, they only seem to offer tours (I wanted to check Dracula, but the office was closed at noon, and I had no time to wait. Might be useful to call in advance about the scheduled tours!) The complex is a bit on the modern side for me, but still is a special location that is well worth the visit, I really recommend!
Norbert Szél — Google review
What a stunning building! A veritable mountain on a mountain it was worth the drive even though the exhibits were not open. We were still able to walk the grounds and admire the ancient edifice. Kids had a great time.

Loving the place. Just avoid weekends and national holidays, cause waiting lines get bit crazy. We always bring our own food not to wait in another one... bring another set of clothes because you can get really wet on some rides... and enjoy

Today was really great. We had booked our tickets and reservation in advance, and therefore everything was very smooth.
We felt very safe and much welcomed their. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Some of them made really great jokes as well. :) so they made my day even more funnier.
Due to still some restrictions the attractions were easy to access and there was actually no waiting time. ... maybe one of the plus sides of this pandemic. Looking forward to visit it soon again.

For all people who are entering with birthday cards - do not count on it as you will wait in queue for hours just to get it. I wanted to use this opportunity as suprise for my son, to make him special vs rest of us and it turned out opposite. He felt as a person that has caused everyone else to wait. Cancel the service or make it better.

Peter Volek — Google review
The place was perfect one year ago. Something has happend here and it started to be extremely strict. We weren't allowed to use like 90% of the rides with our 2 years old kid because he is too short (under 90cm). Our 4 years old kid had birthday on the day of visit and he also wasn't allowed to use like 50% of the rides because he is missing 2cm to be 105cm tall. It just doesn't make any sense. Why I'm not allowed to use a pig ride when I'm holding a kid which could use that ride alone? Or a ride where You just go up and down super slowly? Any 4 years old can handle that alone and he wasn't allowed to use it because he is missing 2cm?
That disappointment in his eyes is just heart breaking...

Great place! Our children absolutely loved it! Me and my wife also had a lot of fun! Strongly recommend!
Kiril Stanchev — Google review
Great place, good fun for adults and children, but the number of people spoils the fun. We visited during the summer and around Halloween, weekdays both times. We started when the park opened. After about two hours, all rides required 40-60 minutes waiting not to mention the long queues at restrooms. Disappointing because the rides and attractions are awesome, Halloween decoration is spectacular.

Märchenparkweg 1, 7062 St. Margarethen im Burgenland, Austria
The Esterházy Palace, located in Eisenstadt, is a grand royal baroque residence that dates back to the 14th century. The castle has undergone several renovations over the years, including a neoclassical-style makeover. While many of the palace's 256 rooms are occupied by the provincial government, visitors can tour 25 rooms to gain an insight into its history and former inhabitants' lives.
Beautiful place, so much to see, and learn about History... Really worth visiting 👌👌👌

The paid guided tour was boring. The tour guide wasn't too enthusiastic. However the wine cellar was impressive and very interesting.
I won't recommend anyone to pay for the guided tour. The interior halls weren't so impressive.
Only the wine cellar was interesting.

NK L. — Google review
We visited the castle/palace on a Tuesday afternoon and booked a tour. The tour was in German language and pretty interesting, although it focused a bit too much on stories about people who visited the castle and not enough about the building itself.
The interior is spectacular and we were permitted to even see the main concert hall, despite an orchestra already setting up and pracsticing for a concert taking place later in the evening. In the end, we also received vouchers for a café next to the castle (a free coffee if you eat a cake for at least €5,-). The castle also offers a few museums which was useful to pass the time until our tour started. We visited the wine cellars, which presented a wide variety of old tools used for wine making and other agricultural processing. This museum by itself was quite interesting and we enjoyed it. Can recommend visiting - and the pedestrian area of Eisenstadt's inner town is right around the corner as well for a stroll.

Gerhard Schleining — Google review
My visit to Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt was a captivating dive into a rich historical narrative, enhanced by the exploration of its current exhibition dedicated to Melinda Esterházy, née Ottrubay, and a modest yet authentic dining experience just opposite the castle.
Starting the day with a meal at a simple, authentic restaurant located vis-à-vis Schloss Esterházy provided a delightful preamble to the day’s cultural journey. This establishment, while not historic, is imbued with a charm that complements the grandeur of the castle with its straightforward and genuine approach to cuisine, offering a taste of local flavors that set the stage for the day ahead.
The focal point of my visit, however, was the Schloss Esterházy itself, particularly the exhibition dedicated to Melinda Esterházy, a figure of profound grace and resilience. Melinda, originally from Budapest, rose to prominence as a prima ballerina, captivating audiences with her poise and expressiveness. Her journey from the stages of Budapest to becoming the wife of Prince Paul V Esterházy of Hungary is a story of love, art, and survival against the backdrop of political turmoil.
The exhibition meticulously chronicles Melinda's early life in Hungary, highlighting her contributions to the ballet and the arts, and her eventual marriage to Prince Esterházy. It paints a vivid picture of a woman who was not only a muse and an artist but also a resilient figure who navigated the complexities of life with dignity, especially during the tumultuous times of the Communist takeover in Hungary.
Melinda’s life took a dramatic turn with the onset of the Communist regime, leading to her and her family's escape from Hungary. This part of the exhibition is particularly poignant, showcasing her strength and determination to preserve her family’s legacy and heritage despite the daunting challenges they faced. Her flight from communism is not just a tale of survival but also a testament to her unwavering spirit and grace under pressure.
The exhibition at Schloss Esterházy serves as a tribute to Melinda Esterházy’s remarkable life, from her artistic achievements in Budapest to her enduring legacy as part of the Esterházy lineage. It offers visitors a glimpse into the personal lives of one of Europe's most distinguished families, highlighting the intersection of culture, history, and personal resilience.
In sum, my visit to Schloss Esterházy was a profound experience that went beyond the architectural beauty and historical significance of the castle itself. It was an opportunity to delve into the life of Melinda Esterházy, a woman whose legacy is a powerful narrative of talent, love, and survival. The exhibition not only honors her contributions to the arts but also her strength in the face of adversity, making it a must-see for anyone interested in the rich tapestry of European history and culture.

P.S. For people are interested play American Roulette,is not that type.Is the French one,and they added a double zero at Tiers between 10 & 5.

A really nice quiet place. I play poker, and they offer daily tournaments with relatively low buy-ins. After the tournament, there's usually a €1-3 cash game running. Much better offerings than in the Vienna casino. I'm not a slots or blackjack/roulette player, but they offer those as well in a nice environment and not crowded. There's a well-stocked bar and friendly staff. Definitely worth the short drive/ride from Vienna.

Founded in 1133, still today does the Christian prayer resound in this ancient place. There is no sign that this praise to God, the Creator of Heaven and earth, would cease with the still growing number of young monks in this place. CCb Markgraf-Leopold-Platz 1, Markgraf-Leopold-Platz 1, 2532 Heiligenkreuz im Wienerwald, Austria
Replica Roman city sector built on an original 4 AD site, including baths & a mansion.
One of the best places to experience Roman life. Reconstructions are pretty realistic, all thought there are as is it normal, personal adaptations due to modern lifestyle and safety requirements.
All in all, as an archaeologist, as a historian and as a tourist myself, I totally recommend visiting this place. It's totally worth it.
Alida C. 007 — Google review
Good way to spend half a day with kids. Unlike with other Roman ruins, they brought this one to life by partially reconstructing some of the houses, and furnishing them as they must have looked 2,000 years ago. The highlight of our visit was the main villa, where the floor heating and the baths were fully functioning. They also provide guided, interactive tours.
The ticket actually includes 5 Roman attractions, which are all close by.
You can also combine this visit with some cycling in the area or a visit to Schlosshof castle (just a few kilometers away), to make this a full-day trip.

Went here and used our NÖ Card. The entree fee would have been 12€, but only paid 3€ for a walking tour, which was quite nice.
Very nice areal with a playground for kids as well.
Only minus I have was, that I paid 3.30€ for a bottle of bubble free mineral water....

It's a partly restored 2000 years old Roman legion camp and city for axillary population. You can see the original ancient ruins, but some of the buildings are restored in their original form. I have been in similar places, but this one is outstanding in many ways. The people who created this project were very sensitive to details that you feel you traveled 2000 years back in time. Big parking lot, and restaurant inside. I highly recommend this place.

We have been her for 3 times in last 20 year, each time some new buildings finished/ rebuilt. Our most favorite museum. You can touch, feel and enjoy the old Rome Empire atmosphere than nowhere else in the world
Marian Szetyinszki — Google review
I've been there both in normal days and in events (Römerfest, Spätantike). On normal days you can have guided tours and explore the archeological site. On events there are people dressed in character and a program of different attractions, which I super recommend.
When visiting the museum, use the opportunity and go to amphitheater ruins and the Heidentor too, which are other related attractions of the city.
Note: bringing a snack is a good idea. There is a restaurant that is accessible in the museum but the food can take long (and they may close the
kitchen).

Super interesting. They've even rebuild a couple of buildings so you'll get a real feel of what life used to be like back then. We're definitely going back

Great day out in the border between Austria and Slovakia at this Roman legionary fortress. Bigger than it originally looks from the outside. The bath inside was a surprise as we weren't expecting it to be warm.
Easily spent 3-4 hours here just roaming around and taking pictures of everything. The kids park was fun to mess around in as well, even though we're 25 years old 😂.

Loved touring this reconstruction of a Roman city. They tried to use as much of the original materials found from the site and did a wonderful job recreating parts of the city especially the Roman spa area. Good interactive exhibits for the children as well as a play area. Well worth the visit to this site.

We ate a Roman dinner with a short guided tour around the place and the next day we walked through the rest of the ruins of the ancient city. I can totally recommend this to every fan of ancient Rome. You can finally see how they really lived. Be sure to visit the amphitheater and arc.

Fantastic place, it is an astonishing look into the ancient time and civilization. Romans were brilliant in many aspects, including architecture and living. We will return next time to stay one day, to visit every corner.

It’s like travelling back in time. Not just for Ancient Rome enthusiasts but also for families with children. Been there a lot of times and still love to be there again.
The Bratislava zoo has a good variety of animals from all around the world, with some being endangered or in need of help. The enclosures are big and well-maintained, making it easy to see the animals. It can be a bit hard to find some of them if you're not looking for them specifically, but overall it's an enjoyable zoo to visit.
Firstly I have to say that I'm not a big fan of keeping animals in captivity.
But if I'm looking at this from the visitor perspective only, Bratislava ZOO has grown to an enormous size offering huge variety of animals and knowledge about them.
Lots of toilets, places to eat, sit and enjoy.
Filip Blaho — Google review
Good and huge zoo. The animals have big and nice enclosures, which might make it a bit hard to spot some of them, but it is better for them. It takes a few hours to walk the hole thing, so set off at least 2 hours.
Only downside is the food options and the lack of indoor dinning. Very cheap entrance.
Nicolai Nielsen — Google review
I visited zoo with my family and liked the landscape with few tracks of hiking. It is indeed a large land but could have been maintained better.
Felt pity for some animals whose conditions are heartbreaking.
The Flora at the beginning is mere a formality with very few varieties.
Vehicles inside running on fossil fuel that too on diesel and polluting the air not only for visitors but also for animals. I recommend to use only electric vehicles.
Some fun LIVE activities should be organized to attract visitors.
This could have been much better

Awesome zoo! The ticket price is 5 euros for children, an adult - 7 euros. A lot of animals can be seen up close - rhinos, hippopotamuses, bears, giraffes, zebras, horses, cheetah, white tiger, white lion, monkeys and many others. Very clean cages, aviaries and animals are active and friendly. We were 90% satisfied with our visit, as Dino Park was closed and we did not see meerkats and wolves. But this is a reason to visit the zoo again. We recommend to visit.
???????? ?????????? — Google review
Spent 3 hours in this zoo. Lots of animals and big enclosures. You can get up close with lots of animals like the hippos, rhinos and monkeys. The bear is huge and we saw it eating.
Lots of walking involved in this zoo and not wheelchair friendly. If you want to see the rhinos you probably won't be able to unless you want to walk for 10 minutes up a steep and uneven path.
A great way to spend a day in Bratislava
Andrew McMahon — Google review
Interesting zoo with many less common animal species, as well as everyone's typical favorites. The area is rather stretched out, so for some habitats you need to walk a bit, but that's no problem as there are places to buy food and drinks all over the park. Most animals have fine habitats, though some, like the one of the bear, are rather small. Price is good though, so worth a visit.
Julian 2000 — Google review
Really good zoo for the price. Not so busy!
You can tell they are trying to improve all the time, some of the animals in the older areas do have smaller areas but they are actively working to move them to bigger ones!
I recommend buying the year pass and coming back multiple times, it really is nice seeing the animals develop!
C J — Google review
Very nice place and only 10 Euros per adult. It took us about 4 hours to go around everything calmly. It is nice that many animals are given natural living conditions and excellent food suitable for them. We saw many different animals, many of them very cute. We liked it and the price per person is relatively low. It is true that in some places we did not see animals in aviaries because they live in their real environment. Among the trees and other greenery. In such an environment, deer, wolves, and others. I recommend it to everyone in Bratislava.
Valerija Aleškevič — Google review
The zoo overall is very nice, although we didn't see many animals, maybe because it was too hot, so they were hiding. Some parts of the area were a little old and dilapidated. Seeing the whole zoo requires quite a lot of walking, but there's a minibus you can pay for to take you to the highest point of the zoo. There are panels providing some interesting extra information to read about the animals, such as the names, family history or fun facts.
Zuzana Kovacova — Google review
+ The animals are wonderful and they are well taken care of. They also have some interesting animals that I haven't seen in SLO, HRK, ZOO.
+ A beautiful and large building for the monkeys, with plenty of space for the monkeys to play inside and outside. 5🌟 for that.
- Routes could be arranged more sensibly, or shortcuts or intersecting routes could be arranged. Now it is necessary to walk a long way to visit certain animals, then return to the center and take another path back to a smaller hill.
- I miss the possibility of petting animals for smaller children, for example goats.
+ The ticket price is acceptable. 👍
- Only the toilets were open in the middle.

we had a lovely experience in the Bratislava zoo on a Saturday early afternoon. It was not too crowded and it was easy to reach all the enclosures. The zoo includes a big forrest area all over the zoo making it feel very nature-like despite being so close to the city (easy public transport access).

Animals sleep during the day. A very large area. Animals are wonderful. The food is tasty, but it can be better.
Renata — Google review
With a great variety of animals, this zoo has something to offer for everyone. Keep in mind though that some enclosures are quite far apart (5 - 15 min walking) and some paths are quite steep. Also, some enclosures, for the example the brown bear, were rather small for the animals.
Tim van de Pol — Google review
Smaller but very kid-friendly Zoo. There are many animals which small children love - zebras, bear, lion, leopard, giraffes, chimpanzees and so on, which they recognize from their kids books. Also these highlights are close to the entrance so you don't have to walk too much to see them. There are also many great playground for kids. Living in Bratislava I would definitely get a pass for one year and go there on a regular basis. I definitely recommend it!
Ján Dujčák — Google review
It was a magnificent experience. Recommend to plan the whole day there, because it's really huge. I loved that most of living zones are in natural forest, so the animals have quite a lot of space.

Honestly the worst zoo I’ve visited … I cannot believe it’s got as many stars as it does. Some parts which have been invested in are nice but some areas are very run down. The larger animals such as lion, jaguar etc were in smaller enclosures than the alpacas! I was particularly concerned about the hippo enclosure which had no water. I left feeling guilty I had funded this. If proper investment was made this would be a lovely zoo. Even the vegetables that were thrown in looked rotten.
Most animals were locked in their cages, with no other viewing gallery to see them. So most of the time we were looking at empty enclosures. I dread to think the condition of the enclosures we can’t see , if the ones we can we in such a terrible condition.
Plenty for the kids to do though, in terms of play grounds etc.
Libby Steele — Google review
For the size of the city, we were expecting a much smaller zoo. However, it took us an entire morning to properly see all animals and enjoy it.
The price is super cheap for everything they offer and you can see and do.
Matilde Farto — Google review
We are fans of ZOOs and we go in every town we visit...
This one is a bit small and probably because of cold temperatures a lot of animals were hiding :(
But we have seen some of them
The ZOO is not big, i think you can be around in max 2 hours...
A nice experience if you are traveling with kids. All the food kiosks were closed (probably because winter), so if you think you will need food/drinks, bring it with you...

The territory is large and good for walking. This place is more like a park than a zoo.
The animals (that I saw) looked healthy and well cared for.
The zoo will be very interesting for children because there are beautiful playgrounds.

This is a must for any not-first-time Vienna visitor: this huge, natural-looking yet meticulously manicured park has been built around 1970 on top of a large (and diligently secured) dumpster, but you would never guess its past. Cozy nooks everywhere, impressive, shady trees, vast lawn areas, free lounge chairs that make you relax immediately, a number of water features, a labyrinth, playgrounds, a Japanese garden... You can't really discover it all in one take.
If you are stamina-challenged, choose one of the entrances on top and then let yourself "roll" comfortably downhill.
It is quiet here mid-week; it helps that the use of anything with wheels (except strollers) is not allowed.
Once you arrived at the bottom of the hill, don't miss taking a break and enjoying a sweet delight at the Kurkonditorei Oberlaa: these folks know how to spoil your sweet tooth!

Belvedere Palace is a museum in Vienna, Austria that contains a wide range of art from the Middle Ages to today. The collection has particular importance for its holdings of Gustav Klimt paintings, which are some of the most beautiful and iconic works in the whole of Austria. The palace and its gardens make for a lovely place to spend an afternoon, and it's worth visiting if you're interested in Austrian art.
This is a must visit location in Vienna! The gardens are stunning in their elegance and memories of a bygone age abound in the architecture and layout.
The views of the hills around Vienna are wonderful.
You have beautiful water fountains to calm body and mind, and there's a lovely cafe at the Upper Belvedere where you can sit indoors / outdoors and relax whilst contemplating life in Vienna.
In addition, last, but certainly not least, you have the Gustav Klimt exhibition and the palace itself.
Time well spent, I'd say!

The complex of palaces and gardens Belvedere is just a masterpiece. Two palaces (upper and lower), a complex of fountains, landscape design, a huge square. Therefore, this place is always crowded. Gorgeous art exposition of Gustav Klimt, including his most famous works. If you decide to see the palaces from the inside and see a collection of paintings, then it is better to take tickets online (the difference is noticeable). On Belvedere it is necessary to have at least 5-6 hours. It's worth to see it by own
The buildings look amazing as well as the garden. Sculptures and fountains located along the paths are pleasing to the eyes.

*Note, I didn’t go into the Museum. This is about the gardens. I didn’t feel like going to see “The Kiss” which is the main reason you go to this Museum.
The gardens are absolutely spectacular. All three levels of them. The bottom level is fun to kind of walk through the hedges and find a little spots. Some of them have sculptures and some of them just have park benches but you don’t know till you enter. The two main fountains are beautiful and super picturesque one side you can see the beautiful palace on the other side you can see Vienna making both sides beautiful in different ways. You can easy spend a good 2 hours just walking and enjoying the gardens

My visit to Belvedere Castle in Vienna was a captivating journey through both art and history. This splendid palace, with its magnificent architecture and stunning gardens, is a true gem in the heart of the city.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the incredible collection of art housed within the castle. The Upper Belvedere, in particular, showcases an array of masterpieces, including works by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. These paintings are not only artistically significant but also culturally and historically important.
The beautiful gardens, with their meticulously landscaped design, provided a serene backdrop for the castle. The views of Vienna from the terraces were absolutely breathtaking, making it a picture-perfect spot.
The staff at Belvedere Castle were informative and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you're an art enthusiast or simply seeking a taste of Austrian culture and history, a visit to Belvedere Castle is a must. It's a cultural treasure trove that offers an unforgettable and visually stunning journey. I highly recommend it to anyone exploring Vienna.

Absolutely stunning palace. If you are short on time, do just the upper palace. Keep in mind entry is per the time given for your ticket. They don't take you in early and only give you a 20 minute window if you are delayed. The exhibitions are on three levels and it takes at least an hour to see each of them properly, 90 minutes for each level if you want to do justice to the beautiful paintings, sculptures and the rooms of the palace. The lower level has medieval and modern art if that's your thing. The gardens between the palaces are lovely too.

A beautiful palace with astonishing architecture and stunning gardens! The interior isn’t what you would expect as the palace was restored after being bombed in WW2. There is a beautiful ballroom made of marble on the second floor. The palace is filled with paintings from different periods and styles and can be considered more like a gallery.

It's hard to put this in to words how much this is worth visiting. You need to like art and you need to have patience to walk around and enjoy the culture. It was spectacular to see Klimt's the kiss. We were fascinated by this incredible piece of Vienna’s history. Upon entering from the main gate you have this huge space with a lake and manicured flower beds.
At the entrance of the museum you must deposit your backpacks in a special room at the "bag storage" and you can choose which direction to take first. The visit inside the museum has no time limit, you can go inside for as long as you want. It really is a must-see tourist attraction. We recommend making tickets online so you can skip the line at the ticket office.

Make sure to get to the Upper gallery for this. Get your ticket online to skip the queue. The first floor baroque art ceilings are just marvellous and I couldn't get enough of staring at them. We only visited The upper Palace at Belvedere as this has a great art collection in particular the works of Gustav Klimt and many other great works of art. The building itself is spectacular as it was built as a Palace and never occupied as such, now serving as an Art Gallery. It also has a very nice cafe which looks out onto the gardens and Lower Belvedere.
There is, of course, a gift shop where one can buy memories at all budget levels.

Very impressive grounds and buildings - worth a trip just to walk around outside. Of course, the main attraction is Klimt's "The Kiss", but there are many other wonderful works of art. It's not as large as some other galleries and as such, it only took us about an hour and a half to look around. We went towards the end of the day and it wasn't too busy.
We had the Vienna Pass and couldn't see how to pre-book tickets on line, so went to the ticket sales on the day to find out we didn't need a ticket and to just show the Vienna Pass at the main entrance.

We bought tickets online and there was no waiting time. But there was a small issue, they were renovating the part where you can store your luggage, so it was an extra effort to take it back to the HBf, to store it and to come back. The online ticket was valid for one hour, so you need to be careful to not miss it. The museum itself is a bit overrated and 17€ is really too much for it.

Don't buy ticket. Just go visit the garden.
Well the palace is huge and is ticked. However, the garden behind it captures its essence is what I had heard. The garden is open for all for free. It has beautiful sculptures, a lot of flora, and fountains. The sculptures are unique and perfect for time travel. The garden is extremely well kept and has flowers like tulip and lavender. One can breath the fragrance in the air. A lot of tourists stop here and so should you!
You can sit around and take a moment to absorb the beauty.
There's a small cafe there as well which too is open for all. They seemed to have a decent collection but they don't allow takeaway... They are strictly "dine-in" only. We were in a rush so couldn't sit in, but if you have time - the desserts looked good

I loved the Palace itself, it’s so gorgeous it’s actually a little overwhelming. The view is breathtaking to the point I felt like I was not paying enough attention to the art displayed inside.
This is one of the best, if not the best overall museum I have ever been to. Unfortunately my visit has been a bit tainted by the way I was greeted at the entrance. I was told to use the lockers on the left hand side, to my surprise those required a €2 coin to be inserted, which I did not have so started panicking a little, understandably - this visit was the highlight of my trip and having spent close to 8 hours travelling to Vienna, tiredness started catching up to me. I saw no mention of this on the website. In fact, I checked the FAQ prior to my visit as I contemplated heading to the hotel first, having been on the move since I arrived in Vienna earlier in the morning. For those interested, from Belvedere website: Yes, you will find lockers, free of charge, at all Belvedere locations.
How come was I directed to paid lockers? I can only imagine this was an attempt to get even more money from those visiting. Extremely disappointing and distasteful. I eventually headed to the cloakroom, where I was able to leave my backpack indeed free of charge.
I am the kind of person who always visits the museum gift shops to have something to bring back the memories, however on this occasion I decided not to purchase anything, purely because of the locker situation.
Schloss Hof is an 18th-century Habsburg complex featuring a restored farm with state rooms and ornamental grounds. I absolutely recommend to visit this beautiful castle, and while you're at it, i really recommend also seeing the Niederweiden Castle. It's not far from Slovakia on feet, or if u wanna take a bike. Some might say that the ticket price is too high, but i think it's really worth it. The gardens are beautiful, you really can see the hard work of all of the staff while looking at the state of the lands and gardens, also there are many animals, that look well taken care of at the farmhouses belonging to the castle SchloßHof. The exhibitions of Sisi and her son were very informative and nicely done, i was really surprised to see that the staff included slovak translations to the main german descriptions and at the start of the exhibitions, you also could find english booklets with the same translations of the whole exhibitions. I would like to also thank all the staff that worked on 28. September, you really made my day even better than it was, from lady at the souvenir shop, the lady at the cash desk, to the lady and mr. Roman who kindly drove us to castle Niederweiden by bus even tho we missed the official time it was supposed to go and then were even willing to arrange a time that worked for us to take us back. Im really sorry I didn't catch all your names but you are the best. All in all, this was a great experience that was worth every last cent i paid for the ticket. Really recommend, you won't regret it.

Beautifull palace near Vienna with one of the most astonishing gardens I've ever saw. The palace itself is mostly classic museum with only few rooms traditionally furnished, but the gardens itself are worth the trip. Great fountains and architecture, vivid flowers and as a bonus, you can spot many sqirells in at least one part of the garden, where you can also sit and relax in the shadows of the trees.

Beautiful place for all day Family Trip. Schloss Hoff ist opened every day during the year except 24th of December. You can enjoy the gardens and interior of the castle. In outside you can walk through beautiful garden, you can play with kids on playground and see little animals, horses and camel. There is always clean restroom available all around the place. You can enjoy the meal in restaurant or coffee and cake in coffee shop. Ticket price is 23eur for adults, children up to 6 years are allowed free of charge. For recent info about prices please refer to official website.

Beautiful castle. Entrance fee a little strangely high and strangely priced (21€ entrance +4€ only for a guide). The guide was excellent and we really enjoyed the guided tour. However as it was officially the family tour, I didn’t see it was especially family friendly and parts of the pottery als is not especially interesting. But the castle and the gardens and buildings around are definitely worth a visit!

Very nice to visit. Plan more than 2 hours, because it is huge and if weather is nice the garden with camel, horses, donkeys etc. and a lot of plants and palms is beautiful for recreation and picnic. You can also visit the castle inside or have a marriage party there. I would consider it especially as a place for kids to run free and have fun while parents can relax with a coffee or beer.
Maybe bring some snacks if you want to safe money.
But you can buy ice cream between 2€-5€. Or a hotdog 🌭 (4,50€). There is also a restaurant named after the white peacock 🦚 living there. You can order local Austrian food and perfect coffee.
Entrance is a bit expensive. To keep the Areal so nice costs a lot. If you do not live too far away you should consider if a ticket for one year. You can use it use it also for special events like Easter or Christmas market and Halloween in the garden labyrinth (not too spooky for kids, but a small adventure).

Very nice park and castle, everything is in a good condition. Lots of things to see including animals and gardens. Place is great for kids with lots of activities. It is worth spending there whole day since it is very large.

Very nice polished experience, big gardens with some animals and plenty of activities to do during the events. Plates, clothes, some furniture and stuff inside. Very few rooms available to the public though. Fair prices for whole area.
The Vienna State Opera is a world-renowned opera house with major productions, original decor and multilingual guided tours. It's a perfect place to start your Instagrammable journey in the city of music.
Amazing experience. Went to see Rigoletto and the production was flawless, impeccable. The theatre itself is a jewel. It's so enormous that I didn't even have time to see all the rooms. Definitely visit if you're in Vienna.

The place is amazing. You can live an wonderful experience in here! Give me goosebumps just for remembering the night I watched the Tristan Isolde from Wagner! The acoustic of the place is incredible, if you have time, the chance to check it up and the likes for this music, this is a must go and do in Wien!!!

Very grand, we had the tour which lasted about 45 minutes. It's very opulent, well worth having a look. The guide was a young lady and was very friendly, she very clearly loved the opera and the Vienna Operahaus.

A beautiful building from the outside and inside. Richly decorated and absolutely worth seeing. You should definitely take a guided tour here. However, you have to register in good time, as these do not take place all the time.
Very important: In front of the building, many apparent employees of the opera or various dealers sell tickets for tours or performances. Under no circumstances buy! Whatever is being sold here, it's not opera tickets. According to the staff at the opera, the sale cannot be banned.

This is an amazing experience, it's a must to visit if you love opera. Each seat is equipped with a small screen that has the script on in English, French or German so no need to buy the libretto (booklet). All the good places are usually fully booked so I recommend you book ahead of time.
Yasser SharafAlDin — Google review
It is worthy of being one of the top four opera houses in the world, and it is beautiful from the inside out. There are small screens in front of the seats, and the lines are translated in eight languages, so you don't have to worry about not being able to read them. For opera without a parting screen, if you go out you can't come back, so don't drink too much water.

One of the famous attractions at Vienna with rich history. I think the tour could have been better- little big crowd with 1 tour guide. Inside was good but I feel there are lot better opera houses around the world. I believe the history and outside the auditorium makes it worth for 4 stars and must see.

A beautiful historical opera house with a great legacy and continued excellence. Grab tickets for a show extremely early because seats sell extremely fast. Some seats don't actually have a view of the stage so pay attention to which you purchase. The main entrance is the original entrance and opulently decorated. You'll find multiple bars and cafes inside but expect to pay a premium. Staff is great and speaks English.

Adjacent to our hotel, so we could see the beautiful facade on many occasions. The exterior is stunning, as is most of the interior, but the performance hall fell flat. Granted, some buildings, including the opera hall, were damaged by bombing during WWll. The hall felt very stark without the Baroque embellishments included in the rest of the building. Our expectations may have been too high for this venue, but we expected it to be on par with the history of Vienna. We did not see a performance, so perhaps when in operation, our perspective may have changed.

A superb evening watching the ballet Sleeping Beauty accompanied by the brilliant Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. A fantastic opera house with such opulent surroundings, fantastic frescos and carvings. Well worth a tour before you come to a performance to hear the history of the building.
A thoroughly memorable experience in one of the world’s top opera houses.

We watched Simon Boccanegra which though not the most exciting of operas was enjoyable especially performed in such a beautiful opera house with good acoustics, and modern touches like individual screens for lyrics in several languages, as well as a good orchestra. The bar room was also very pretty, all in all very worth the visit.

This place is remarkable! The gilding of the decorations, the grandeur of the amphitheatre, the beauty of the view over the roofs and the grace of the artists are simply remarkable!
This place touched me a lot, for the ballet of course, but also for the harmony and the magic of the air.

Very interesting tour (a little bit too crowded) through the Opera. Our guide was very interesting and prepared.
Maybe smaller groups or the use of earphones would permit to better enjoy the experience

Really beautiful and we loved that you can go out on the balcony. We sat in the cheap(er) seats and could still see/appreciate the music. We aren't exactly Opera experts so the screens with English and German translations were great. Glad we got to see an Opera but on the fence as to whether it was worth the money.

We did the tour here with a lovely tour guide, and despite not having gone to an opera before, I found it interesting and informative. It's an impressive building and even more so impressive the work that goes on behind the scenes. I'd recommend the tour to anyone with an interest in architecture, history, and of course, opera and the arts.

Of course you have to book a guided tour when visiting Vienna. An incredibly beautiful building with great finesse. A huge stage and the new techniques that are explained to you round off the visit. The tour is very professional and carried out on time. You wait at the side entrance. But be careful in front of the opera, there are many ticket sellers who are not necessarily from the opera. The vendors are often dressed up and offer all kinds of tickets.

Gorgeous architecture suitable to fit plenty of visitors. It is worth seeing and attending an event. If you buy las minute tickets for the seats on the far ends the visibility is very limited, you can enjoy the good music by the orchestra and the singers but not the full performance. There are cloak rooms on each floor, convenient buffet (food better be pre-ordered as there will be queues).

We went and did the tour and really enjoyed it. We booked at the start of our trip online for later in the week. You can also go to the booking office 15 mins before the tour times and buy leftover tickets but these do sell out so, I'd recommend booking in advance online. Our tour guide was really friendly and engaging, telling us lots about the history of the building and answering any questions. We had a group of about 20 which was a good size. The Albertina is a museum in Vienna, Austria, that contains the world's most comprehensive collection of graphic material. The collection includes pieces from all the major European schools of art, dating back to the Middle Ages. The museum also features the world's largest collection of French impressionist paintings and German expressionist paintings. In addition, the Albertina has a wide range of 20th century art on display including works by Gustav Klimt and Pablo Picasso.
Wonderful display of art in an amazing building here in the heart of Vienna. The rooms are spacious and set up well for viewing and seats throughout for those who like to sit and observe the art. The price is well worth paying for what you can view here in the Albertina. Monet, Picasso, Warhol, Rodin, Matisse and Munch to name a few.

Albertina is a very nice museum with a great sampling of a great number of the big name artists from the impressionist through the modernists. Many of the artists are represented by a single piece, especially the impressionists, however what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality. There are also plenty of artists represented by multiple pieces of art. They also do a good job showing off different periods of artists careers when possible such as Matisse, Kandinsky and Picasso, just to name a few.
The pieces are also very informative with information printed in both German and English.

If you are not so familiar with the different styles I’d definitely consider getting the audio guide to go along with the exhibitions, about €3 or so.

During my recent visit to Vienna, I had the pleasure of exploring the renowned Albertina, and it proved to be a captivating journey through art and history. Located in the heart of the city, the Albertina is a cultural gem that offers a rich collection of artworks, fascinating exhibitions, and an impressive display of historical artifacts.
Upon entering the museum, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the building and its elegant architecture. The Albertina's facade exudes a sense of refined beauty, and it serves as a fitting introduction to the treasures that lie within. The interior spaces are equally impressive, with well-curated galleries and exhibition halls that create an inviting and immersive environment for visitors.
The collection housed in the Albertina is nothing short of remarkable. It boasts an extensive range of artworks spanning different periods and genres, including masterpieces by renowned artists such as Monet, Picasso, and Klimt. The museum's comprehensive display of prints and drawings is particularly noteworthy, providing a unique opportunity to explore the intricacies and artistic processes behind these

Great exhibits with lots of information in German and English about individual pieces and artists. I liked the variety, with many artists displayed but arranged thematically. I particularly enjoyed the Gottfried Helnwein exhibit, it's very well put together and has a lot of interesting information about his information for most pieces displayed. Plenty of free lockers available to store your things for a €1 deposit, which the woman working the cloakroom gladly directed people towards instead of taking their money, which I appreciated. Overall nicely run and easy to spend 2-3 hours here.

Albertina, nestled in Vienna's heart, is a cultural beacon housing centuries of artistic masterpieces. With elegant architecture and diverse exhibitions, it offers a captivating journey through the history of art. Its rich history dates back to 1776 when it was established as a private residence for the Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschen and his wife, Archduchess Maria Christina. Over the years, it evolved into a renowned art museum, showcasing the Duke and Archduchess's extensive collection of drawings, prints, and paintings. Today, Albertina stands as a testament to their passion for art and continues to enchant visitors with its cultural significance and artistic treasures.

The audio guide is helpful for art novices and available on smartphones for 3 euros each. Of course bring your own headphones.
The Albertina has a lot more exhibitions but we only had time for one

The Gothic cathedral St. Stephan's Cathedral is located in the heart of Vienna and boasts an ornate spire, catacombs, and a treasury museum. It is a popular Instagram spot for panoramas of the cityscape from either the tower or the outside.
Very very stunning church in the heart of the city. Made it there during mass in the evening, but will definitely be going back today to get the feel of the place during the day.
Amazing architecture from both inside and outside. It’s jaw dropping. And it has such an amazing/positive/calming energy.
The is no entrance fee to the church itself but if you wanna climb the tower and its 300+ steps or to see the catacombs you need to pay. Will add an update after I do the tours today.

Beautiful church, most of the main parts are free to visit so I can't think of a reason to not visit.
There are some parts of the church which you need to pay to enter, I paid for the catacombs tour and recommend that. I also paid to go up the north tower, you get good views of Vienna and a good look at the amazing tiled roof, however I am not sure it is worth the asking price of EUR 6 - take a look at the photos below and decide for yourself whether you want to pay to go up.
You can only buy tickets in person at the church, you cannot buy them online in advance, also they only accept cash, no cards.

This was an incredibly interesting and beautiful place to visit. There are several options for tickets, we chose the € 20 all inclusive per person one.
This allows a visit to the Cathedral itself plus both the North and South towers. One has an elevator and the other over 300 steps.Even though we could access both, we went with the elevator.
The view was fantastic, both of the city and the rest of the Cathedral. Then we had a guided tour of the crypt, absolutely brilliant and a great tour guide. The tour was in German and English and highly worth taking.
I would highly recommend this tour and if at all possible, try to be there for 10 am at least before the crowd. This part of Vienna is incredibly busy with tourists..
Also tickets are not available online and must be purchased in person in the Cathedral. This is cash only, as is the gift shop.

Behold the majestic splendor of Saint Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, a timeless masterpiece that transcends mere architecture to embody the very soul of Austria's rich history and cultural heritage.
As you step through its ancient gates, you are transported to a realm where the whispers of the past mingle with the echoes of the present. Towering spires reach towards the heavens, their intricate facades adorned with intricate carvings that tell stories of triumph and tribulation, of faith and fortitude.
Inside, a symphony of light dances through stained glass windows, painting the hallowed halls with a kaleidoscope of colors that inspire awe and reverence. Each step unveils a new wonder: from the grandeur of the nave to the serenity of the chapels, every corner holds a treasure waiting to be discovered.
But it is not only the physical beauty of Saint Stephen's Cathedral that captivates the soul. It is the palpable sense of history that permeates its walls, the echoes of centuries of prayers and praises that linger in the air. Here, amid the hushed whispers of pilgrims and the solemn strains of organ music, one cannot help but feel a connection to something greater than oneself.
Saint Stephen's Cathedral is not merely a building; it is a living testament to the enduring power of faith and the indomitable spirit of humanity. It is a place where the past meets the present, where the sacred and the sublime converge in a harmony that transcends time itself.
To visit Saint Stephen's Cathedral is to embark on a journey through the annals of history, to walk in the footsteps of kings and queens, poets and peasants. It is an experience that will stay with you long after you have left its hallowed halls, a reminder of the enduring beauty and majesty of the human spirit.

I recommend you to take all in one ticket. You can buy it inside, go to the left and you will see the entry to the South Tower. Buy a ticket and go to the North tower. To get there, go out and walk around the church to the left side. You will see the entry to the North tower. It was not easy to get to the top, pretty narrow staircase corridor and long way up. The reason why you should go to this tower first because it closes earlier (see photo). You can observe night city from the South tower only.

I had the opportunity to go inside and check out this incredibly historic cathedral located in the city centre of Vienna. Both the inside and outside of the cathedral are stunning and picturesque. It is free to enter the church but there is also certain areas of the church that you need too pay to enter. I definitely could have spent more time in here and would definitely do it again when in Vienna and definitely recommend stepping inside if you haven’t at least once for a few minutes. At the time we we’re here it was mid November and there was a large Christmas market set up in the city center and we were wondering around on the evening when the area was most lively. Definitely wish to come back in the future.

Check times. Closed for tourists during mass. Free entry but pay for central bit and catacomb tour. Very busy when we went around 13.30.
It is truly subjective as it does depend on how much churches and cathedrals you’ve visited. We have visited too many I think especially the ones in Italy and even in England, hence this was a bit underwhelming. Gothic design. Tick. Ornate carvings. Tick. Not all of the outside has been cleaned which is authentic I think. We could see how history and time have affected it. Black soot/smoke from centuries gone.
One thing to commend it for being different - amazing roof!! That, I love. ❤️

Wow. I'll be yet another person to add a 5* review to this magnificent church! Stunning in its exterior, the beauty manages to extend to its interior. We made it during a mass which was great to experience and then visited again in the evening. Ultimately, my only gripe is that they only accept cash for tours.

We bought the cathedral and catacombs. Cathedral has a QR code tour on your phone that is very informative. The catacombs were amazing and a little scary. Must see. We wanted to go to treasury too but the timings didn’t work for us. Do check opening times because they seem to open and close for visitors throughout the day/week, depending on services and mass.

We loved St. Stephen’s! We decided to buy tickets to the catacomb tour and the South Tower and we felt that we saw plenty. I think we spent about 10€ per person total to see both.
We loved the catacombs tour. Our guide was very enthusiastic and gave us a lot of information about the catacombs. It was very in depth and in both German and English. You pay at the end of the tour in cash (they have change).
The south tower was quite a trek - not for the faint of heart or claustrophobic. The stairs are very narrow and you end up walking past people going the opposite way. It gets very hot as well, so I’m not sure I’d recommend going on a hot day. We went on a rainy day and it was cooking, but thankfully the windows at the watch tower were open with a nice breeze to cool down at. You pay for tickets at the entrance of the South Tower.

You must visit this cathedral when you are in Vienna. It is the most beautiful church in the city and probably in Central Europe. The exterior of this gothic cathedral was build from 1300-1500. It used to have the highest church tower in the world, and when you enter this cathedral you will be amazed on how much effort the Viennese put in building this master piece. This church entry is free. But you can also visit some of the paid areas of the cathedral

An awesome inspiring cathedral inside and out. The outside is amazing with the tiles and spires . Inside doesn't disappoint with ornate interior , stained glass, high buttresses. A must while in Vienna . It is free but you can ppay more to see more.

Amazing architect.
A must-visit in Vienna.
Very helpful & polite staff.
We did the all Inclusive tour, which was worth it!

I think it is one of the most important cathedrals in Gothic architecture. It is truly a magnificent work, it also has ties with the Ottoman Empire. It was used as a shelter during Ottoman sieges, and its bells were also used to warn Turkish raiders...

I visited St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. It was a magnificent building with a rich history, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Strolling through its grand halls, one can't help but be awed by its beauty and the stories it holds. It's definitely a must-visit for anyone exploring Vienna, offering a glimpse into the city's rich past and architectural marvels.

Amazing gothic cathedral. The main cathedral in Vienna.
You can get an all inclusive ticket for 25€ to go up both towers, the museum and the catacombs or it's about 7€ for each thing individually. We just visited the catacombs as my husband had been up the tower previously. The catacombs are well worth the visit! The tour guide we had was very good. The tour was done in both German and English and very informative and the tour guide was very charismatic.

The construction began in 1137 and completed in 1578, however due to circumstances such as fire and WW2, it needs to renovate or reconstruct until to this time.
Anyway, this century old cathedral is one of the marvelous I've ever seen.
It is an iconic tourist spot located in the heart of Vienna.
The interior and exterior are jaw-dropping.
It is a free entrance and yet a long queue especially in the afternoon.
There is a portion inside the cathedral to purchase ticket entrance.
During my visit, a throng of people passes by and you can't concentrate nor roaming around.
It was such an honor to see, feel and experience a hundred centuries structural buildings.
Recommendable tourist spot but I prefer you to come here as early in the morning to avoid people.

St. Stephens Cathedral is a stunning architectural masterpiece located in Vienna, Austria. The Gothic design and intricate details of the cathedral are truly mesmerizing. Absolutely Devine church in the middle of Vienna city. Only a very short stroll from the underground of Stephensplatz Plenty of opportunity to take Photos’ Off this majestic church. You can go in side but must pay extra to go to the front rostrum of the church itself. Plenty of photo opportunities. Still under renovations. Cheers big ears

St. Stephen's Cathedral, or Stephansdom, is a stunning Gothic masterpiece situated in the heart of Vienna. Construction began in the 12th century, and the cathedral has undergone various modifications and expansions over the centuries. Its iconic spire, reaching over 136 meters (446 feet) high, dominates the city skyline. The cathedral's interior is equally impressive, with intricate stained glass windows, majestic altars, and a beautifully crafted pulpit. St. Stephen's Cathedral is not only a significant religious site but also a symbol of Vienna's rich history and cultural heritage.
The historic city center of Vienna, known as Historisches Zentrum von Wien, is a magnificent sight filled with elegant buildings, baroque castles and parks. The 19th-century Ringstrasse boulevard is the highlight of the area with numerous incredible buildings adorned with fascinating designs, carvings and statues. The location is exceptionally clean but can be overcrowded during holidays making it difficult for taxis and cars to pass through.
A truly beautiful sight. There are several buildings in this location. All with amazing and intriguing designs, statues, patterns and carvings. The area is very clean. Taking pics and stopping to admire can be uncomfortable as the area is extremely busy(as it should be). So better go in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays. During holidays, the area is decorated beautifully. Taxis and cars will find it difficult to pass the streets here due to excess pedestrians. All in all, amazing place, definitely a most visit when you are in Vienna.

A truly beautiful area of Vienna. There are numerous buildings in this area with amazing architecture, sculptures, patterns, museums and carvings. The area is very clean and has lots of opportunities for taking photos. The area is most busy in the evenings and nights when everyone comes out. During holidays the area is decorated beautifully and has many Christmas markets around the area as I experienced when I visited here. In my opposition from what I saw the best one was the large Christmas market near and around St. Stephens Cathedral in the historic city centre. I would definitely recommend this area as a must visit when you are in Vienna.I would definitely visit this area again when I am in Vienna

No other city in the world can be like Vienna. It would take three life times to see it all, and then a fourth to see what you have forgotten! Don't get into the tourist traps, but read about Vienna, get a good city map, learn some German, and venture out into the city filled with secret, small passages, Cafés, wonderful museums and very good food.

1010 Wien, Austria
I'll never travel to Prague without this trip planner again
The central square of this city boasts a 12th-century cathedral that is in contrast with a postmodernist building. A popular Viennese coffee shop, Cafe Hawelka, is located just three minutes away from this bustling area. Despite its lack of fancy decor, the cafe exudes an authentic atmosphere and has been frequented by writers and artists for over seven decades.
St. Peter's Catholic Church is one of the oldest churches in Vienna and features ornate baroque art and architecture. The church also offers daily organ recitals.
Absolutely stunning church in the middle of Vienna! And hosting classical musical concerts.... Sounds beautiful and calming in a wonderful setting!

Gorgeous old church with fancy architecture from a long time ago. In simple words: Make sure you visit the beautiful and ornate St. Mary's church Peter's Church is a church that belongs to Peter. Built in 1733, this was the first domed baroque building constructed in Vienna. Make sure to enjoy and take in the beautiful insides of the building, including the fancy pulpit and the paintings on the ceiling. It is not far to walk from St. Stephen's cathedral is a place that you can visit for free.

St. Peter's Catholic Church is simply awesome. The grandeur of its architecture and the serene ambiance within its walls create an awe-inspiring experience for visitors. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a sense of reverence and peace. The intricate details of the stained glass windows, the majestic altar, and the ornate decorations all contribute to the church's beauty and spiritual atmosphere. Whether you're attending a service, seeking solace in prayer, or simply admiring the craftsmanship, St. Peter's Catholic Church is a place that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

Beautiful church in the middle of Vienna
We visited for their classical music ensemble.
A excellent quartet playing classical music in a beautiful setting

A lovely church that is also utilized to hold the nightly concerts. It is beautifully built and well-maintained. It seems that the air isolation wasn't done so well so it can get quite chilly if the weather is a bit cold out there. Regularly the church is probably free of charge for entry but for the concert do you have to get tickets ahead of time.

We enjoyed a fantastic classical concert at St Peter’s after a fun day of shopping at the shops all around the area.
This is such a beautiful church, accompanied by the inviting atmosphere.
There were only a few staff at the night event, given most of the customers knew where to sit, ao there was no services needed from our end. But from watching their interactions with others, was very friendly.
Regardless you want to come here for a concert or just to check out the church, are both recommended by @winedinenvacay

Amazing church - somehow much less tourists than St. Stephan Church, but I love this one way more.
The colorful marbles are breathtaking; the gold is a nice touch added. There’s a lot of interior decoration, but still gives an elegant vibe and not overwhelming the viewers.
Would highly recommend a visit!

It's free to visit, opened for most of the day and definitely a recommendation to anyone.
The multiple altars, paintings and ceiling are something not to miss.
Very close to St. Stephan's Cathedral, but as well worth the visit of not more (and with the bonus that is free).

The Peterskirche is located on Petersplatz, it is baroque roman catholic parish church in Vienna. The oldest church building (of which nothing remains today) dates back to the Early Middle Ages, The construction of the new Baroque church was begun around 1701 .

The Peterskirche is an excellent church, perhaps not as glorious as the quite similarly planned Karlskirche but fully deserving of a visit. The dome, the ellipsoid interior create a wonderfully unified space where you really can experience awe regardless of whether or not you are a believer. Definitely take the time to soak in the feeling of the church and explore the chapels. The only negative comment I have is that the church, just off a major walking street, was very crowded when I visited. But don't be dissuaded - brave the crowds and don't let them distract you from the glorious interior.

The St. Peter's Church in Vienna stands as a breathtaking example of Baroque architecture, captivating visitors with its stunningly ornate interior and imposing facade. This historic church, nestled in the heart of Vienna, offers a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The intricate frescoes, the majestic dome, and the elaborate altarpiece are particularly awe-inspiring, showcasing the artistic brilliance of the period. The church's acoustics make it an excellent venue for concerts, adding a sublime auditory experience to its visual splendor. St. Peter's is not just a place of worship but a testament to Vienna's rich cultural and historical heritage, making it a must-visit for both art enthusiasts and spiritual seekers. Its peaceful ambiance provides a tranquil retreat from the city's bustling streets, inviting visitors to reflect and rejuvenate.

Unbelievably beautiful church. You look up and it's like heaven on earth. When I went it happened to be a concert inside the Church with Christmas carols. And it was a 10/10 experience
Akis Blionas — Google review
I happened to visit the church a few minutes before an organ recital through pure luck. The recital I attended ran from 1500-1530; check the church website for times and programmes.
For the cost of a donation I was able to sit inside and enjoy a beautiful recital while resting my legs and admiring the church. The costs go towards the maintenance of the organ, so it's for a good cause. The concerts are fairly relaxed and seating is not reserved (at least not for the matinée I attended). The pews obviously face the altar, and so the organ is behind you - sit at the front if you want to turn around and watch the organ while the music is playing.
The Prater amusement park is a large public park in Vienna that has been popular with generations of Viennese. The park has a long history of hosting recreational activities, including a landmark giant wheel from 1897. In addition to its recreational value, the Prater is also home to Vienna's biggest stadium, the Ernst Happel Stadium. The area is huge and provides plenty of space for sport enthusiasts as well as shade for picnickers and strollers.
Really fun place, right outside the train station. We came by sunfall and enjoyed the beautiful lights after it went dark. The good rides cost at least 5 euro for person.

Great amusement park with a large variety of rides and activities. Not too crowded, waiting queues are small or rather nonexistent.
Good option for a date, family day, or some old fashioned adrenaline rush.
Ferris wheel is particularly charming during the sunset. It can get a bit windy and cold at the top depending on the season.

Love it, always a ton of fun! A bit on the pricey side, but keeping in mind this is an amusement park in the middle of Vienna, open basically every day, it makes sense to pay per ride. Fun for a quick trip, 2-3 rides and then off to grab something to eat.

I didn't expect much since we got the same attractions in Prague twice a year for several months, but the atmosphere is really great. And it gets even better after sunset with the bulb lights. I recommend going on a Booster and the high carousel during sunset. The view is stunning.

There are tons of food joints where you can eat while choosing rides.
It is good for kids as well as adults both. Inside you'll find rides, houses, food joints, water rides etc.
Moreover, it'll take an entire day if you enjoy it completely.

This one of most important attractions in Vienna, and probably the best destination,,
It’s an open amusement park, with roller coasters, museums, indoor games, restaurants and much more,,
You can easily spend a day there without being bored,,
Main disadvantage, there isn’t like an “all pass”, you must buy your tickets for each ride, ahead of riding it, most of them cost around 5 euros, and some are more expensive,,

Nice place to visit and a must go when you are in Vienna.
However being "free" to enter is misleading. The rides cost so much per person for one ride (mostly 5€ per person per ride) that it makes wanting to do most rides a very expensive visit. However it is nice being able to walk round and look at everything for free if you are not a fan of the rides.
Great to see at night when lit up.
The prater swing ride is great for views.

Nice area. A bit history-failing, that even history mentioned like battle of 3 emperors, Czechs are added a 4 cornered column with themselves also on it feels like Czechia fought also in the battle and same sized as the Russian, French or Habsburg empire. Also the 4 trees - even it is a great idea to put trees from the participating countries - but the Czech tree..

Visited only the garden but it alone took 2 hours with two little kids

Nice country palace but overshadowed by the nearby peace monument and greater palaces like Lednice not too far away, but surely worth a two hour visit.

It is a very beautiful castle. There are 4 types of tours in various languages and the place is nicely preserved. One of the tour is obviously focused on the battle of Austerlitz and a other one allows you to try the torture devices ... It can also serve as wedding location... something to keep in mind.

The former name of the city and castle is Austerlitz where the "battle of three emperors" happened. It's a nice looking castle in baroque style. The tour on historic halls was great - the guide was really nice and I liked the story very much. My family and I were lucky to have a tour only for us - no other people appeared. Also the garden is a pleasant place to walk after or before a tour inside the castle.

Nice place for a family walk. Peaceful and quiet with lots of greens all around. The castle is nice and we'll renovated.
Watch your step. The road inside the village could be tricky. Better have snickers on.
The place has great old times vibe. The village is not so big to explore. But when you will get enough of old school entertainment you should go to garden. It’s huge and I liked it a lot.
I liked archery, make your coins, soap, paper and candles.
Definitely recommend to family’s with children

It's amazing village where you can try the traditional professions. Behind the village there's a British style garden like Mr McGregor's garten from the Peter Rabit tale. Just simple worth a visit.

Amazing place 👍 not just for kids. Craft village, herb / plant farm and nice open grill restaurant.
The place is fully kids friendly but definitely not for your stroller or pram!

Very nice place to spend time especially with kids. Ancient village where u can try hand made many stuff there is place where to eat and shop where u can buy nice organic stuff from food to cosmetics. The experience is quite expensive if u have kid who want to try everything but it worth it. Only thing I find as minus is that there wasn't any place where to drink or buy water as places like this in the world having water tap always available here u can buy small cup of lemonade or water with sirup and beer but no bottle of water. Some attractions are closed during the week and opens for weekends but even though there is enough to see and try. Be sure u wear good shoes as u will walk on stone roads

Absolutely stunning gardens- huge area of medicinal plants, fruit plants, flowers and trees. It includes a maze and many benches and statues and sculptures can be spotted throughout the different sections. They also have sheep, goats, ducks, pigeons a pig.
The village part is where kids can learn about different crags and make their own soap, candles, paper and more. There is also a "tavern" where you can get something to eat and drink.

Amazing craft village. An entire day can be spent. Something like portkeyed to HP world. Entire old world charm with several craft making experience. Primarily for family with kids but if you love crafts it can be enjoyed as an adult too!
The canteen was amazing even with decor. They have an impressive herb garden. Also the shop is very nice and reasonable

Polished hotel in a Baroque castle, offering refined dining, an indoor pool & a cafe.
Beautiful small castle with awesome park. You can choose to visit castle or the park only where you will definitely have great fun getting lost in the labyrinth 😀

The staff for the first few days were absolutely amazing. The children's room had a few hazards, which inevitably led to a girl splitting her head open on a table that didn't have the plastic covering on a metal end, some tables had the plastic while others didn't. The toy box had nails sticking out. When the girl split her head, they removed the hazards upon my wife's request. I was in the room playing with the kids when this happened.
The staff, who hadn't been there yet this week, were unprofessional. Saying things like "if you have a personal problem you should go home" or "If they would've watched their kids this wouldn't have happened"
A simple apology would've sufficed, but they tried to save face instead. They have since decided to close the children's area instead of making it safer.
Before this with the staff previously, it was the best hotel service I'd experienced. The cleaning ladies, the kitchen ladies and people at the front were absolute angels to my children, prior to this. It seems to me it was upper management who were the rude ones.
Regardless, due to regulations in Czech Republic, anything labeled as a children's area should be free of hazards and should be frequently inspected by staff.
I had planned to come back next year and rent out a better room, but unless there is some type of apology, I will not be returning. This would've been a five start review before this experience. I hope they find some way to rectify this experience, I'd love to give them the opportunity to apologize and compensate for their rudeness. If they do act professional, I definately would change my review. As of now, I won't be returning annually as I had planned.

It's a nice place if you like the mythos around the labirinths. What I really liked that on the information boards there are lots of interesting cultural, historical facts about labirinths. So not only for kids...

Excellent guided tour. I think I have never been on any better. And I've been on so many before:) Also nice park with attractions for kids and grownups too. Unfortunately I don't have for some reason not enough good photos. I was most likely preoccupied with other things than taking shots.

It was such a great experience. We took "Christmas tree tour". It was entertaining, knowledgeable, great decorations in the rooms, the tour guide was to the point. Only one thing I would change is the number of guest in one tour, I would make a smaller group. The manor house is beautiful plus it has huge park with attractions for kids and adults. We will definitely come back.

Great place to visit , though a bit expensive in season. The multiple labyrinths located around the château gardens keep kids occupied for a few hours. The inside of the château is also very nice and the Vtipna kase Cafe is cozy and has great food. In the winter, though, some of the labyrinths are not accessible.

Enjoyed a very nice wedding here, might be a bit pricey, but that is to be expected with location...

Beautiful chateau with a nice view and the best park full of labyrinths and mazes! They have funny program for kids during summer and at some special occasions during the whole year. There is also a chilling zone with 'fatboys' in the shade in front of the chateau.

Really Really terrible experience at the castle for our wedding!
We planned our wedding and could have had it literally anywhere in the world but because my wife is Czech we decided to have it Prague and I thought it would be fitting to have it in a castle because she is my princess.
Let me say this was not the cheapest option as there were a number of other lower and similar priced castles but we chose this one because of its allure and majestic photographic potential.
We had an amazing wedding planner who assisted us in every way possible that was within her means but here is where it all went wrong and become a nightmare instead of the best day of our lives:
- Sound is very very important! probably as important as the venue and photographs. They completely failed in this department! at our service they provided sound in our wedding package but it was one little speaker, manned buy an old guy in the corner. Not any person in the crowd could hear the music that my wife obsessed about for hours and hours. When she walked down the isle nobody hear the song that was supposed to make me cry and thats so sad. Nobody could here the service or anything for that matter until we said I do TERRIBLE!
- The DJ provided to us cancelled he's services a week before our wedding because he didn't have our music playlists even though we came prepared with our playlists as he didn't understand the songs. He was kind enough to allow us to use he's sound system for a cheaper rate and one of my friends did the DJ duties. The DJ insisted on strobe lights and a disco ball inside the venue that almost entirely ruined all our party photos. We didn't know where the hell to disconnect the lights and didn't want to be liable for any damages so we left it on!
- The translator provided to us cancelled last minute for whatever reason and they provided a replacement that could barely understand English herself... Nothing against her but she should never have been put in this position!!
- Caterer is where it really got messy! We were forced to use 1 of 2 caters that the castle wants to use otherwise we would need to pay an extra 50 000 czk to use our own catering company. This guy is the single reason why i am writing this review in the first place! We came for tasting twice told him what exactly what quality of products we wanted and he gave us exactly the opposite. We wanted a snack table with canapés, nice cheeses, prosciutto, meat cuts and a leg of pork, jams, fresh fruits and amazing breads! We imagined a beautifully decorated table with the best of what he could provide but he gave us the worst possible cheese, no prosciutto, underwhelming fruits and 3 big jams with zero decoration... it looked like something in hospital.
- We also ordered the full food package and again were disappointed. The soup was absolutely disgusting! its a Czech tradition for the newly weds to feed each other soup on the wedding day but dam that was the worst I've ever tasted in Czech Republic. We had a fish starter that when we tasted it before was palatable but on the wedding day was terrible. We ordered the duck main and this was the highlight of our day as it actually tasted amazing and exactly as we wanted but it was all ruined by the cake. The cake was some cheap cream cake exactly want we didn't order to taste :( this almost brought my wife to tears and got me soooooo angry on our very special day!
- We Also ordered a the unlimited drinking/alcohol package and chose the Italian wines and unfortunately they provided cheap Hungarian wines.
One thing is clear... its a profitable business where service doesn't really matter. Loucen needs to understand that it takes more than just having a beautiful castle with great facilities to be a wedding venue!! We can never get that special wedding moment back and when it mattered most they dropped the ball and made us look really bad.
My only advice to the castle is your only as good as your service providers!!

Great place for families with children, they will enjoy themselves a lot. Many people today, cause it is czech national holiday. Restaurant is not so good, not so many choices and prices are little bit higher, but in limits :-)..
