Recommended. The price is more than reasonable. A leisurely trip in the ship, plenty of views, bird sightings and plenty of food, drink and prosecco. Would come back again. The team was grea, welcoming, friendly and made sure we were well fed and entertained.

After many years visiting this region we finally came across this great tour to the Casone of Marano Lagunare. An entertaining voyage with Alberto at the helm with delicious fish salad and crostini accompanied by endless bubbly. At the Casone, fish pasta followed by sardines with yet more bubbly. Gubbana grappa and coffee. Alberto’s musical entertainment completed the excellent package. Wish we had discovered this years ago.

(Translated by Google) Very fun day on board the Nuova Saturno.
Young, motivated and trained staff. There is a relaxed and serene atmosphere that makes the experience pleasant.
The connection with the territory and its traditions is striking, which shines through from the narrations and explanations of the captain and the naturalistic guide.
Abundant, quality food, a good, well-cooked fish menu.
The meat alternative for those who don't eat fish is to be praised.
The musical entertainment during/after lunch is nice and involves the public.
Definitely an experience to repeat.

Always fun to visit places like these! Entrance fee is €12, and the parking is free but limited amount of spaces.
When you first enter you will walk through a small "museum" with information about butterflies. Then there will be 3 different environments with butterflies 🦋 There are also other cool insects here, and beautiful plants.
This place is perfect for kids and those who are interested in this kind of stuff
Kristina Eriksen — Google review
Lovely natural reserve with three different 'ecosystem' rooms, with various environments and animals! Fair price for the entry and very interesting boards with every kind of information you need.
It's way bigger that how it looks from the outside; more points for the effort to reduce the plastic for the gifts!

Lovely place. Beautiful butterflies. It is nice to come and support the community. And take some lovely pictures, look at the butterflies and other animals.

A lot more to see than expected, in a small remote village! Really enjoyed it.

Friendly staff, stunning butterflies and interesting insects. An enjoyable way to spend an hour in a learning environment that really appeals to kids: seeing these incredible creatures flying around and enjoying fruit. Recommended.
Gabrielle Lewkowicz — Google review
A magnificient place. You receive a big dose of education about the different butterfly species and their environment. Inside you can then see and feel them all close up and see how they are really behaving. Some might even land on you or come close enough to feel the flap of their wings. Best of all the staff is very friendly, and you can enter and exit multiple times if you paid the entrance once. We loved it!

We were excitid to visit House of Butterfly. In addition to live butterflies, there is also an unusually large collection of beetles from around the world. We recommend visiting this place
HanaH — Google review
Interesting place to visit! Never thought a place like this existed. It was really nice to learn about butterflies and see them in action. You can enter with your dog if it is small and you can carry it, as in some of the areas there are animals flying and going around and your dog should not interact or harm them in any case. Would definitely bring my family when they come to visit!
Nestled along the Pisnica River, Lake Jasna is a picturesque destination with its white-sand shores and stunning mountain views. While smaller than other nearby lakes, it offers a tranquil atmosphere perfect for leisurely walks and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy the emerald green waters and find plenty of photo opportunities around the lake. Although there are no public restrooms available, the well-kept surroundings and library on the beach add to its charm.
Beautiful destination. You can eat and have some hot drinks. Beautiful view from the bubble. You can make brunch, lunch, dinner even inside the chalet what is close to the lake. For parking inside you have to pay. But close to the street you când find parking for free.

Beautiful place to relax and appreciate the clear Cristal water, ideal for single people or families…. You have a car park around the lake not sure if you can take local transport I drove to this place. You have restaurants and coffee shops around the lake to enjoy a nice day out
Ljubica Banic — Google review
A beautiful glacial lake with a lot of photo opportunities. An ibex statute on the lake shore provides a close glimpse into this rarely seen animals which prefer solitude of rugged Alpine mountain. A short walk from the town center is also pleasant en route.
Sukid Panja — Google review
Very beautiful, even on a rainy day. The walk around the lake is very short, and we didn't explore much further as it was a cold rainy day, but even so, the views are amazing, and the lake is so beautiful and tranquil. There is a nice cafe next to the lake, easy parking, but a fairly small car park for a nice sunny day.
Andra Gabriela Stancu — Google review

Beautiful lake both for swimming, although the water is quite cold for me (but as I saw, it didn't bother others) as well as for a short walk or rest and reading a book, which you can borrow right from the library on the beach. Very beautiful, well-kept surroundings and views of the surrounding mountains. We love to come back.

A small lake compared to Bled and Bohinj. However, you are enjoy the small lake as you can cover the entire lake by foot in under 30 minutes. Lots of photo spots available.
A calming lake with mountains in the background. The emrald green water is so soothing to see.
Parking is available for a charge.
However, no public or free restrooms available.
Lokesh Dupati — Google review
I love this lake. The water is so refreshing and cristal clear! There are ducks too, but it is not allowed to feed them with bread. Use maize instead.
There is even a free beach library for those who speak Slovenian. Nice idea!
Csaba Együd — Google review
Such a stunning location. The lake was nearly fully frozen which made it even more magical. There is a lovely bar area next to the lake which is definitely worth visiting.
Julia Norbury — Google review
Too crowded and commercialized. People were swimming in the lakes. Difficult to park if you come during the weekend and at noon. Still there are lots free parking places so do not stop at the first two parking lots. Continue driving past the lakes.
Pavel Radkovsky — Google review
It is really nice lake.
I’ve spent here almost all day. Here is quite place, few people, nice views.
I highly recommend swimming in the lake, it is clean and cool. take shoes with you, because the beach is pebble
You could do picnic here as well

Lovely place to chill and relax. The car parking to the lakes for the day cost €5 .. you can take your dogs and picnics with you. They have done nice benches to seat and enjoy the scenery.
If you need toilets they have some public portaloo toilets otherwise you can use the ones at the private places like restaurants. The lakes are walking distance. You can drive or arrive by bus but not sure how often is the bus to this place. They have a mini market inside where you can buy local cheese, salami, bread honey etc

Great place to visit if you are in the area of Tarvisio. These two alpine glacial lakes are awesome in winter, from the lower lake you can easily walk along the trail to the upper lake. You can access the upper lake with the car toll costs € 4,00.

Monte Santo di Lussari is a charming mountain destination with a picturesque village, pilgrimage church, and ski slopes. In the summer, visitors can take a chairlift to the top of the mountain and explore the scenic village at 1740 meters. The area offers stunning views of rocky peaks, valleys, and glaciers. Trekking enthusiasts will find various routes of different difficulty levels to surrounding peaks.
Extremely beautiful place. Swing around the bars over there for sunset aperitivo

The best place to visit for winter sport ! It’s a well know place for skiers ⛷️ and it’s beautiful small village on the top of the mountain! An amazing place for weekend skiing. Less than two hours from the airport in Ljubljana. You can leave your car at the foot of the mountain at the free parking in Camporosso In Valcanale, where you can also rent a ski equipment. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet place, it is worth staying in one of the three small hotels on the top of mountain. During winter a gondola lift is closed at 16:00. From this time only a small group of hotel guests and service stay on the top. Silence, peace, amazing views. Priceles
Mirek Tarczoń — Google review
The views and mountainous landscape are truly stunning. Accesible during summer by tele cabina, discounted to 7€ if bought at 5, just before desk closing. There are plenty of bars / restaurants offering decent prices

Exceptional place. Worth every minute spent there.
You can only get there by gondola, but what a place to be. Beautiful.
Filip Paunovici — Google review
The heaven on earth. There are cafes above the mountain where we can eat while enjoying the beautiful view of the mountains. The cable car service makes it easier to reach the top of the mountain. One of the best place for skiing.
shahla yasmin — Google review
It's cute but needlessly expensive. A bit of a tourist trap for the non-experienced. 20€ for the chairlift thingy was a rip off and the Albergo restaurant at the top is a rip-off. Thank god for the gorgeous view which made the thing at least somewhat worthwhile.
Lev Chek — Google review
Absolutely stunning and beautifull. I went there in the summer and now in the winter and I cant decide what is more beautifull. Its perfect for skiing, walking , enjoying beautifull view and good food. I recommend to everyone to go there in summer and in winter. There is cable car in Camporosso that will take you up. Sill under the impression of that beautiful place.
Tea Bašić — Google review
Not so Bad skiing area... but, avoit it if there is any possible national holiday in Slovenia, Croatia, Austria or Italy... slow and old ski lifts, very narrow terrain, too many first lessons skiers and a lack of parking space... I recommend it only if there is sun, during week and if you see a lot of parkings.. than, ok..
The Pyramidenkogel Tower is a popular attraction in Klagenfurt that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and Lake Worthersee. It features an observation deck, as well as a covered slide that provides visitors with a thrilling experience. The road leading up to the tower can be challenging for inexperienced drivers due to its steep and twisting nature. The parking lot is free and spacious, while the building's entrance is well-maintained.
Cool place. Road going up is fun, although might be challenging for novice drivers considering how steep and twisty it is in places. Parking lot is free, and large. Entrance to the building is very well maintained and the views from the top are brilliant. The slide from the top is well worth the 4 euros!
Micha? K — Google review
Spectacular views. Fair price as well and an awesome slide down. But wouldn’t recommend for someone who is afraid of heights as the tower does feel like it sways in the wind…a bit disconcerting
Thomas Coetzee — Google review
Very nice view from the top. 16 eur entrance fee for adults. It really worth the experience. You can come down by slide (150 meters, about 20 seconds sliding time), which cost extra 5 Eur.

Also there is a kids play area .
One can easily spend 2-3 hrs .
Can say it is a weekend outing

Great place to visit in Klagenfurt, from this tower you have a panoramic view on the city and the lake of Wörthersee, you can experience the slide from the 8th floor of the tower, the ticket costs for the student is 10 euro +4 euro for the slide if you would like to try it
aburashid aljabri — Google review
A nice attraction from which you can admire the beautiful surroundings in good weather.
The price is relatively high, but at least you can get a discount for students, for example.
The slide was unfortunately not in operation but would have cost more money.
The souvenirs were unfortunately also very overpriced.
Otherwise, you can sit down in the restaurant and have a good meal at the end.

beautiful architectural design in itself! sitting on top of a steep hill climb. i have been to many "observation" tower/platform from the Eiffel tower, to the top of st. peter's basilica, to Jinmao tower in Pudong, what i appreciated most about the Pyramid is that there are multiple decks and none of them is completely enclosed in with glass panels or fences (would be kind of unimaginable in the US due to the risk of massive lawsuit in case of someone jumping off! 🙄😁) therefore, not only do you have an unobstructed panorama view of the lakes, the alps, the meadows and villages, you also can feel the breeze and fresh air. to my surprise, there is an slide with which you can opt to slide back down. but in order to get more of this breathtaking view and get more fresh air, we opted to walk down the stairs ... unlike many staircases i had climbed before, this one is wide and with very easy steps to negotiate. there are even benches in the middle floors where you can stop and look out again. i was very impressed with architecture itself and many details incorporated to offer convenience and comfort to the visitors. a must stop if you happen to be in the area.
Tia x — Google review
Beautiful place for everyone doesn't matter how old you are .
We have attended the tower when the lift was broken, so several hundreds of steps must go up :-)
If you are interested you can go down by mega long slide on carpet

Very nice and interesting place, almost 100 meter high. There are two options to go on top, by elevator or by staircase. We go by foot and at half way you must beat fear by adrenaline rush. My wife give me some brawery to suceed. Thnx love ♥️

Nice platform to see the whole area. Breathtaking views! Buy combo ticket if you want to visit Minimundo or take a boat trip. It is better then the discount offered by Woerthersee card

Absolutely breathtaking view and simply a must if you’re visiting Klagenfurt. For those who still like to indulge their inner child every so often and enjoy a bit of adrenaline - you should definitely take the long slide on your way down!

Not for the people that are scared of heights. Perfect landmark for adrenaline junkie, specially part with slide. If you are not elevator person you can walk with stairs to top/bottom. Great view from top (at least i heard i was too scared to go), dogs are allowed only with muzzles.
Petar Pecanic — Google review
Great experience, a great view of the wortersee. Highly recommend for the whole family.
Petra G — Google review
We walked from the parking place on a pretty difficult route to the tower (route nr 27, ~4.5km, 2.5h). It was beautiful and fun, for the children too. The elevator was not working in the tower, but 'walking is the best medicine', so with a couple of hundred steps we reached the top.:) The view from the top is amazing. You can see the Wörthersee, the Alps and more. If you decide to walk to the tower, then be aware of that the last bus comes at ~18:15. We missed it.:D
MF Gugli — Google review
We went to the tower during the week and it was cold and a bit rainy. The family had breakfast in the restaurant which seemed a bit pricey for what we got. The slide was closed that day which was disappointing but the views were great and it was nice exercise climbing up to the top.

Here are some interesting facts about Pyramidenkogel in Austria Wörthersee:
It is the tallest wooden observation tower in the world, at 100 meters (328 feet) tall.
It has a 120-meter (394-foot) long spiral slide, which is the longest in Europe.
The tower offers panoramic views of Lake Wörthersee, the surrounding mountains, and the Julian Alps in Slovenia.
It is also home to a restaurant, a café, and a souvenir shop.
The tower was built in 2013 and was designed by the Austrian architect Günther Domenig.
Here are some additional interesting facts:
The tower is made of over 1,000 cubic meters of wood, which is the equivalent of about 10,000 trees.
The tower's spiral staircase has 441 steps.
The tower's observation deck is 70 meters (230 feet) above the ground.
The tower is accessible by car, bus, or on foot.
The tower is a popular tourist destination, attracting over 200,000 visitors each year.
Serđo Orihovac — Google review
Very nice viewing point. I recommend to go when there is no fog and nice weather. Normal entry 15€, student ticket 10€. There is a slide do go down the tower, it cost 4.5€.
There is a souvenir shop too.
i cannot explain exactly why, i have always been partial toward small chapels ...the underrated elegance that comes in smaller sizes, in inconspicuous location, often without any crowd, always holds special appeal to my senses. and this one is a fine example of it. the small peninsula (the town of maria wörth) it sits on is beautiful esp in the sunset. funny enough that we spotted the village and the church while on top of the Pyramid observation tower - its black/white exterior and classic austrian style steeple stood out in the sea of blue and green.

Nice place to explore. You can enter the crypta, the frescos are really interesting and beautiful, also an amazing view on the lake. This is gonna sound weird, but the people buried around there are so lucky, to be able to rest there, as some of the graves have a stunning “view” of the lake 😅

Lovely little chapel tucked away on the side of the half island.
The interior is amazingly detailed and goes back a century or two (can't quite recall the date).
The chapel itself is enveloped by a beautiful cemetary with wild flowers growing everywhere and a gorgeous view of the lake.

A small and quaint place but with beautiful views. Nice place to chill, meditate and relax. And the Pfarr Maria Wörth-Roman Catholic Kirche is just close by. A tip, need to dress appropriately so you can get inside. No short pants allowed. And on the other side, there's a small picnic place with a small restaurant. And the Shifffahrt Station is there too.

Nice view on the Wörthersee. Nice lawn, a few beach chairs, an ice cream shop, what else can you wish for on a sunny summer day? Maybe some shade! There is some shade at the ice cream shop and there is also some shade on the back part of lawn in the afternoon.
Notice: I didn't see people go swimming in this part of the lake, so maybe it's not allowed or not so popular because of the boats. I actually never saw a boat dock or depart, so I think it would be perfectly safe to swim here most of the time.
Landskron Castle, a historic hilltop fortress in Villach, Austria, has been home to various noble families from the 14th to the 17th century. Although destroyed by fire in 1812, it remains a top attraction with its medieval walls drawing many visitors for its scenic ascent and breathtaking views.
Great location close to Villach with lots of attractions. You may book a session with eagles on your wedding day. This is a real castle, a fantastic background for photos. Stunning views on each side. Every couple gets to cut their cake with a medieval sword. There is a beautiful Chapel located within the castle, great for a romantic ceremony. As a photographer I can recommend this location as one of favourites.

The entrance to the castle itself is free which was a welcome surprise, it has a decent restaurant with other things such as souvenir shops, snack bars etc.
TheDevilCookie — Google review
Breathtaking atmosphere and view.. problem with my visit was that we were a big group with optimized price and therefore the restaurant experience seems to suffer .. the plates were quite plain with good but not exceptional taste and the people were quite harsh - some of the statements even unfriendly.. I guess if it would have been a dinner for two with less monetary restrictions the whole experience would have been mega..

Parking is 2,5 Euros per day and you can see beautiful old castle and lovely Affenberge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Andrea Adanić Pajić — Google review
The food was delicious at the restaurant and the views were incredible.More than worth it to venture out and go see. The drive just to get to the castle is worth just taking the trip. There ia parking at the very top of the mountain so your only option isn't just at the very bottom. Its worth checking out. If you do decide to park at the bottom. Its quite the journey making it up that steep graded road about 1/2 Km to the top.

Nice one day family trip. The bird show is something special, but it is good to know german, because there is not enough english speak. Beware of summer heat, you can get fried up in the arena. It is ynder open sky. No roof or shadow at all. If you are regarding that it's a interesting place with astonishing view.
Aljosa Tomazic — Google review
The castle is small without any exhibition. You should pay entrance fee only to reach the part where you can see the birds and watch the eagle show. It's really good, we enjoyed seeing how those big birds are hunting. The entrance is free with Kärnten card, but parking is €3.8.

No service, they tried to close our sunshade umbrella without warning us or giving us another spot first. The umbrella just folded on out heads. They let us sit in the hot sun for the rest of are visit. Also, the burger was dry and the plate was underdressed with only some fries dumped on it. After showing that we were displeased, they did not care to apologize. I don’t recommend eating here. Thanks for reading

Affenberg Landskron is a popular family-friendly monkey park in Villach, Austria. Visitors can enjoy barrier-free guided tours through macaque enclosures and book interactive activities. The park offers an engaging experience for families, with tours lasting about 30 minutes to see the monkeys in their habitat. While visitors cannot touch the monkeys, they can walk among them and enjoy the playground, food, and drinks available on-site. Paid parking is available at the hill entrance.
If you want to see monkeys in the wild then this is the right place to visit! Sadly you cannot pet or touch the animals but you can watch them preform smart tasks. The guide was nice and helped if a monkey was bothering someone.
Quite a memorable trip!

It is nice to visit, you can only go through the park with a guide. This is done in large groups at the same time. The guide will lead you through the park and tell you a lot about the monkeys. A large part of the area is not accessible so that the monkeys also have peace. The guide speaks several languages, making it easy for everyone to follow

The line's weren't long and the tour is giving in both German and English. I definitely enjoyed monkeys running around all over you, just be sure to follow the rules!

Such a cool experience, you get to see monkeys in their natural environment during the guided tour. We had a great guide, had lots of fun anecdotes to tell, although the monkeys themselves provided enough entertainment and joy.

Nice place with the kids. Tour to see the monkeys. You walk amongst them but can't touch them unfortunatelly (in case you expect to interact with them)
Playground, food & drinks
Plenty of parking
Functional rooms in a trendy budget hotel with a bar & a sauna, plus free breakfast.
Nice design hotel near Millenium express. Very good food. The room was nice and we had the smallest room. The entrance room wher you can store your stuff works realy good. The room can be a little noisy if you would like to go to sleep early, but i have solved problem with ear plugs. The location is top :)

The position of the hotel is in an excellent place. In Nassfield Valley. Directly across the road is the starting gondola that takes you to the top of the mountain. The hotel has a rental shop and a sports shop if you forgot to buy something. As for the rooms, they are comfortable, clean and spacious for 3 people. Each room has a vestibule which is actually a ski room where you can leave your gear. There are heaters for pancers, which is super appreciated. There is no separate ski room within the hotel. The food is correct, a good selection. They clean the rooms and change the towels every day. The pool could be a little warmer. The complaint is that there are no massagers in the pool, which means a lot after hard skiing. I recommend the hotel for families with children, it has a lot of facilities, it is very interesting that there is an artificial rock for climbing. You can get climbing equipment at the reception. I would come back to this hotel again.

This is nit 4 stars hotel..where is pool or wellness? Where are bellboys? There is ni ski depot, you need to carry your skis around entire "hotel". This could be a good hostel..

We spent one week in January 2024 in hotel, we were also in this hotel year before. Position of hotel is great, near Millennium gondola, rooms are specious in front of the room is small room where you can leave your ski equipment, bags, jacket...
Nassfeld has a good conection to the highway so the trip is in general very relaxing.
This year we were unpleasantly suprised by the quality of food. The dinner was horrible. It consisted mostly of food which was bought in some supermarket and prepared in microwave. It was lacking both meat and vegetable. Chicken was prepared with some sweet or sour sauce, who is not a fan of taste could not eat it. Other type of meet was too hard to chew. Vegetable was every evening the same. Pasta was terrible also. For example appetizer was prepared from leftovers from breakfast, they used croissant which were filled with something. Desserts were always dumplings and cakes which were made from mascarpone cheese. Breakfast was a little bit better but always the same, eggs were almost always cold and it was lacking variety.
Regarding the cleaning it could be improved a lot of dust and spiderweb in room and hall.
Pool was average, nothing special. Hall was missing a carpet, my wife felt when she entered the hotel in ski boots, same happened to other guest because of same reason.
In general 3 star hotel, bad food, too expensive.
Nikola Ninic — Google review
Max 3 star hotel.
Rooms are terrible. Extra small and no bathroom. Just separate toalet, separate shower and sink in the room with skis, where people can see you from the hallway.
Also other things:
Tv has limited channels and locked HDMI so you can not connect your reciever.
Wifi extra slow. Only round 1,7Mbit/s
Furniture basic like in Hostels.
Walls and ceilings just concrete painted.
Reception is great, climbing wall, playground, etc is great.
Also no bottled water, no caffe, no minibar,… for the price of 5* hotel you get good hotel with Hostel style room.

Crystalski holiday makers please check the welcome letter, the Crystal ski hire shop is not attached to the hotel, although yes there is a ski hire shop but you need to walk 10 minutes to Intersport for Crystal.
Also the ski school meeting place/details on the welcome letter are incorrect. Please check with reception or call the ski school.
Crystal have been given this feedback in March 2023.
So the hotel......
We upgraded to a family room, a king size bed and a small wall separating the smaller bed. This room worked for us as a family of 3, not sure if 4 people would have been that great. Bathroom large and shower powerful.
You'll get your own ski locker area, again worked great for us.
Self serving food section for breakfast and dinner excellent, most nights the service for drinks was great. Austrias/locals in our opinion were given priority.
The main ski lift is minutes away.
Would highly recommend the hotel.

Amazing buffet for breakfast and dinner, every single day the food was really great. The service team was honestly the friendliest i have ever met so far. The rooms are not the biggest but you have lots of storage room at the entrance hall, can hang your bikes there, backpacks, suitcase and so on. There is even a shoedryer. Ofcourse it is also prepared for the winter season and you have a place for ski too. Been a great experience and i am looking forward to visit again.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Feanz Ferdinand hotel. The location is ideal and the concept of the hotel is perfect for a ski trip.
Thanks to everyone working at the hotel, and specially to Tomas, who was the perfect bardender in the lobby. Hope to see you again soon.
Nestled in a picturesque setting, Thermal Römerbad is a family-friendly thermal spa with both indoor and outdoor pools. The facility offers clean and well-maintained areas, as well as friendly service. Visitors can enjoy watching skiers from the pools during winter days. The full entrance ticket provides access to various saunas, water massage pools, cold water pools, and relaxation areas. Additionally, there are facilities for sauna sessions and changing rooms available.
This place is awesome and you just have the feeling of nature around you,.
Hugo Churchill — Google review
This is more of a playground for screaming children than a thermal bath. Nothing relaxing about the pool area.
The interior is quite cold, and you only get entry to the first floor pools for the “pools” ticket (no notice of the missing pools on the other floors).
Nice views, clean changing rooms, nice outdoor pool. Worth a 30 minutes visit, would be hard to stay any longer.
Fran Ledic — Google review
Looks more impressive from outside than inside.
Change room is huge and well organized with enough lockers.
If you don't have towels, renting is 4 EUR. Bathrobe is 7 EUR.
Entrence fee depends how long do you want to stay and beside ticket price, if you want to use sauna, it's additional 18 EUR.
There is one inside pool and one outside pool. Those are connected. Couple of indoor decks with deck chairs.
Pools are not for swimming, just leasure.
I'm not fun of this kind of activities, and if I had to pay entrance fee (I got it with my ski pass), I would be feel like someone cheated me.
We had 4 hours tickets but 2 hour was enough.
I didn't visit the restaurant.
Predrag Jelovac — Google review
Quite disappointing if you’re not super comfortable with being naked. Most of the pools are in the sauna area and don’t allow swimwear. The quiet zone is anything but quiet with a lot of parents bringing their screaming kids to this area (although there’s more than enough space in the normal area). Staff don’t care. Water temperature is a bit cold compared to St. Kathreine. Would not go there again, especially not for the price point.
Momo — Google review
Really one of the most beautiful sauna areas in carinthia.
However, 2 improvements are possible: better ventilation of the saunas, and the guest infusions are exceptionally poor. The infusion saunas are too small and the infusers stuff the saunas to the last square centimeter (in my opinion in Covid times an absolute no go) - but you do not have to go there.
The main pool is overcrowded with children and not relaxing at all - we skipped it.
The restaurant disappointed us the most. We ordered 2 salads with chicken pieces. For 14 euros we expected much more than a leaf salad with 3 pieces of meat.
So in conclusion sauna area very nice - spa area yes at off-peak times - restaurant no thanks.
Michael Rathmair — Google review
Good location and clean. There is a main inside pool and an eternal one. Also has facilities for sauna and relaxation facilities. The reception stuff is a bit overwhelmed by the big number of people, but just ignore that. The water is a bit cold, and there a few cabins in my opinions. But a good plance to relax after a skiing day.
alex urca — Google review
Very small, crowded. If you use only basic SPA, you get pass to the main pool, outside pool and kids zone. If it's crowded, like it was, you can't enjoy in any of it. It is too expensive to pay extra 20€ for saunas and the rest of pools. It is a very nice idea, but must be better realized. Only the dressing rooms and restrooms are renovated, but the pools maybe need a little renovation and innovation. I was in much better SPAs for much less money in Serbia.
Katarina Devetak — Google review
Very nice location right next to the slopes. We were there during weekday in the morning on a sunny day, so it was nit crowded. However, there are not too many baths, only two bigger pools, one inside, one outside and one extra for kids. It is good to relax there, but there aren't many entertainf areas.

It has nice pool outside but no place to sit in the water and no bar outside. You will not find any jacuzzi in regular price, you need to pay extra to get to spa and wellness. Not sure who had this idea to build main pool 1.8m deep. It just doesn't make much sense. No water massages in any of the polls. Wasted potential of this place...
Anan Kofan — Google review
It is placed in a beautiful environment. Has outdoor pools besides the indoor ones. Clean places and very nice service. Family friendly. The lockers and changing rooms are not separated by gender, which is also family friendly. Winter time, during the day, both from the indoor and outdoor pools one can watch the skiers stopping about hundred meters away from the pool. The water temperature is was warm, but to my family and friends was a bit colder than our expectations.

Amazing!! Will go back again next time we visit. There is a family section on the lower level and adult only nude section above. The saunas and pools were perfect for relaxing. My husband and I enjoyed the heated pools as well as having a snack in the cafe. Great value for price.
Jess James — Google review
This spa is SO BAD! you pay €23 for only 1 SWIMMING POOL in the evening where there are no hot tubs and jaquzis! THE SAUNA is not included and costs €15 extra and you must be naked! You cannot enter the other 4 pools with swimwear because it is in the sauna section! There are dirty things like hair and plasters everywhere and it's just really boring! you don't have bubbles or anything else fun in the bath! DO NOT GO HERE! You really can't do anything without swimwear! Really not recommended and very bad for this winter sports area! Spend your money on a snitschel or something else! Truly the worst spa ever!
Bram De Bruin — Google review
Overpriced. The price does not match the price on the website which is misleading.
And also, in my opinion, a sauna is a place to relax, why play music there, like at a school disco??
if the entrance costs 46€ - you can include at least water in the price...
Despite these shortcomings, there are a large number of saunas here, fortunately.
Еva Senko — Google review
Above average spa. The inside pool is large and the outside hot pool is also quite big and most importantly it is not shallow. I would slightly increas the outside water temperature if possible.

Very good value for price if one purchases the full entrance (swimming pools+saunas and relaxation area), with loads of saunas at different combinations of humidity and temperature, great water massage pools, cold water pools and buckets for an after sauna plonge and gorgeous external pools with massagers and view on the mountains.
Very clean everywhere, good facilities for showering and changing.
One downside is the absence of massagers in the family friendly area (with very good swimming pools though), which makes it not great for parents, or adults who don't want to access the nude only area.

I’ll reduce one star, because expecting to have more merchandise.
There are only two white shirts and an umbrella in three colours.

Today I visited this small stunning museum with the beginnings of Ferdinand Porsche. Don't expect a huge museum with the topic of what Porsche is today. This story over there is about a past chapter. Especially the passionate movie where Ferry Porsche and Luise Piëch have been interviewed about the history of this awesome company. It makes you feel what kind of pioneers they were at that time. It has nothing to do anymore with what it is today. A company to offer cars for everyone's taste in all segments. After I visited this "museum" I felt really blessed 😊
Raggaschlucht is a stunning natural attraction featuring a mountainside waterfall cascading through a narrow rocky canyon. Visitors can explore the gorge via wooden walkways, offering breathtaking views of the rushing water, waterfalls, and polished walls. The walk is relatively short, around 800m long with an ascent of 200m, making it suitable for families and those seeking a less strenuous adventure. Educational signposts along the way provide valuable insights into the area's natural features.
We really enjoyed the place
Don't get me wrong it was hard to get to the top but the views on the road and the top are worth the journey
Adrianna Gregersen — Google review
Without a doubt this gorge is fantastic. The roar of the rushing water through the narrow gorge below as it tumbles over waterfalls and cascades down polished walls is so impressive. You walk up on boardwalks hanging above the rushing water until about 45 min later you reach the top. Photo ops abound as you wind your way up the walls and go across bridges. The walk down on the access gravel road takes maybe 30 min back to the starting point. It's steep in places and can be slippery. The best gorge in the area.

Compared to Bärenschützklamm, which we visited a few days before, this gorge walk is very short (it's only 800m long and goes up 200m) and it's twice more expensive. But nevertheless, it's beauties are more densely packed, it's very beautiful and is much worth the visit. More over, it's much more suited for families with kids, since you can easily walk it in 1-2 hours, depending on how much time you allow yourself to enjoy the views. They also have many usefull educational signposts along the way.

Liechtensteinklamm is a stunning natural attraction in the Alps, characterized by its deep and narrow gorge, footpaths, bridges, river, and waterfall. It is only accessible during the summer months. The surrounding mountains offer various hiking opportunities for all levels of hikers. St. Johann im Pongau is a popular ski destination with several ski resorts in the area.
Great gorge with many interesting parts. There are tunnels, spiral stairs, a very cool waterfall in the end. Also we were here first in 2012 and came again 9 years later and a lot has changed and many parts added, which was a very pleasant surprise. So if you visited a few years back I'd still recommend to come back again.

I don’t even know where to begin. We learned about this place from a poster at the salt mines. We hadn’t planned on going and I’m so glad we did. The place is stunning. It’s definitely a workout, with lots of stairs and narrow passages but it’s like every turn there is a new, more beautiful photo opportunity. My girls were over the moon, my oldest wanted to take lots of pictures. It’s not a terribly long hike and there are lots of resting places along the way. If you are in the area don’t miss this one.
Erman Jones — Google review
The place is very close to grossal. There is ample parking at the place and the staff was nice and friendly. I would just wish if they gave more information upfront like how big is the walk etc since we are with a toddler.
The rush of water can be heard and water is crystal clear. The areas can be wet and a bit dark so recommended to wear non slippery shoes.
Overall we enjoyed the place and was a good workout carrying the kid whole way and back.
Trip should last around 2 hours. You can take small picnic as there is a bench at the main waterfall

It’s a beautiful place for a beautiful short hike, there’s €10 entry fee and at the end of the hike you get to see this beautiful waterfall with chilled breeze making it worth all the time efforts. The tracks are a bit slippery so wear shoes accordingly and also the cave parts are dark even though the mobile lights are sufficient I would still advise to carry a torch. Totally worthy and instagrammable.

Edit: rating up to 4 because the company replied. It is definitely worth a visit!
Giving it a 3 because we pulled up right before 4pm. The website says last admission at 4pm, which means they let the last people in AT 4. The lady behind the ticket counter says the park closes at 4. We drove an hour to have to turn around and go back. We decided to return the next morning and it was a beautiful hike, just wish the website had been correct in their statement of closing time.
Alysa Hunter — Google review
I would say it's a beautiful nature reserve, but these words don't do justice to this place..
It's a stunningly beautiful gorge with rushing powerful waterfalls. The trail itself is rather short, ~45min each direction (and don't forget the steep climb) that leads you to the base waterfall and back.
The views are out of this world: if rushing rivers, giant cliffs and huge waterfalls are your thing, do not miss this place!
Itay Shamir — Google review
Very scenic and pretty area, but do not expect a hike of any sorts. There is walking combined, but that’s just to get from the entrance to the bottom of the waterfall. There’s an entrance fee, so it’s not just an area out in the woods, where you can go for free.
Elian Eid Larsen — Google review
A place that you must definitely visit if you are in the area. The entrance fee is not very large and you will be treated with a unique and very scenic trip directly through the gorge via a series of walkways and tunnels. Every turn will open a new interesting view. The path is easily traversable even with a kid (but there are quite a few stairs, so be ready to carry them:-) But its probably best to visit without a dog

Tickets are €12 each and well worth the price. Bring a jacket because it gets a bit chilly when you’re in the shade. We brought a sack lunch and ate it at a picnic table by the waterfall. There are lots of stairs so it’s probably not a good idea for someone with bad knees. We very much enjoyed and it was the highlight of our time in Alpendorf! I highly reccomend.

Very good experience with this ravine. We waited max. 10mins for entry. Parking lots were free to use. We went around noon but I highly recommend to go there in late afternoon maybe. Also use good shoes, maybe even trekking shoes for the not so long path.
B. O. — Google review
Even though the ticketing process is painful, and we waited 35mins to get a ticket, it is worth the pain. The walk through the gorge is fun and spectacular, and the waterfall at the end of the public path is worth the walk. You can grab some great images along the way
Jarrod Hunt — Google review
Pretty cool and very easy to get to. The staircase might be difficult for some people, though.
The only reason it's not getting five stars is because it's not as majestic as many other places I've seen.
Camilla Bülow — Google review
It's a great place to see. A lot of stairs but worth the effort. The views are amazing. Best to be here from the morning, then it is a little bit crowdy.
Jan Platoš — Google review
A little bit more difficult as the added staircase makes the journey more adventurous but at the same time - more physically challenging. Breathtaking views, sounds of the rushing water and colourful rock formations are a great way to spend about 1.5 h. Good facilities and parking.
Maija — Google review
This is a very popular gorge, and for good reasons. The second half of the "ride" it is breathtaking and the end of the trail offers a surprise which I won't spoil.
It's well maintained.
Definitely a must visit.
My 4 star choice was because of a combination of things:
- the first half is obstructed by wire nets.
- I feel that there's a needless set of long stairs and they could've carved an alternate route, it feels all this needless effort is for the circular stairs to be used. But here might be other factors at play why they chose to do this
- it feels like it needs more details along the way, like what rock layers can we notice, etc. or history(if it has). It's a little devoid of informational elements
- price. Admission is 12 euro. While not steep per se, you can definitely see they had a lot of work to do to make the gorge usable for tourism, the trail is not that long (not short either) and I was never a fan of setting higher prices to natural wonders that should be more accessible to everyone

Well designed fairy tale park for children, with revolving motives of four basic elements - Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Nice walking track is guided by two friendly ghosts - Ghosty & Spooky. I bet, your kids will love them.
Even if the price for cable car is not cheap (cca € 65 for 2 adults and 2 children), it's worthy to visit. The park itself is tasteful, toy train, which brings you to the top of the mountain, is free of charge and you even have wifi on the summit. And panorama around is nice.

Perfect! It is the far end of Snow space resort, but the slopes are longer, and there is less people there, so I actually preffer it to Flachau 😁 not that there is anything wrong with it.. Just go, everywhere arround this resort is great.
Waterpark complex with indoor & outdoor pools, looping slides & a spa with 7 saunas.
This was absolutely amazing for kids. They loved the slides, the wave pool, the jumps to water, the climbing wall in water and for me, the best was the hot outside pool. Outside was 2 degrees and raining and we were in hot 35 degrees water.
The place is very clean and well arranged. The lockers are very convenient and large enough.

Evening deal for 19€ from 7pm until closing time is great. Very nice sauna area. However, the staff has to stop shutting down the outside saunas and start cleaning everything already from 9.30pm. It's very rude for customers who have paid to stay until the end and feel pressured to leave the facility from 9.30pm already.

I was only visiting the sauna world for a few hours after a ski day. I left with a really great and unique experience. The sauna world was amazing, lot of sauna for your choice, each with pretty high quality. The whole area was clean and calming.
I participated in the mountain crystal sauna an event with a local sauna master. The high standards of the place could be noticed here too. Great show, great host. The together shouting and the little gym in the cold is something that I will never forget. Also the host paid attention to teach the audience why are we doing that specific exercises and how is this great for our body. You never know where you can learn something new.
Overall it was only a few hours visit due to the time shortage, but it gave me a great special memory. I will definitely visit again.
One opinion to improve. In case of overtime it will be great if by the check out you can use your credit card to pay the overtime bill. However this doesn't changes the five star rating by me.

Nice and clean therme. We got there on Easter monday so kids got free entrance. For a few euros extra you can get entire world of saunas which are very nice and clean. Just obey the sauna rules: only towels and no bathing clothes, and when you are in, keep your feet on the towel.
All other rules are at their web page.

So I spent nearly 4 hours here so it was pretty nice time overall - the sauna area was pretty big and (yes nude only, I don't think I saw anyone cheating this rule or misbehaving) had a nice choice of steam rooms, saunas and I guess "relaxing" pools. I spent the bulk of my time here. I did like the little touch of having racks for your glasses so you can leave them outside of the saunas.
The main leisure centre part had several different pools, hot tubs, 3 flumes and a smallish lane pool but they were all perfectly nice. A lot of seating too.
I did like the building, lots of glass and natural light and secluded views onto some pretty scenery.
However what stops this getting a 5* is that price wise I think it's too expensive. It was €30 for me to have a single adult entry with sauna access for 4 hours, which yes was okay, but the 2 hours or non sauna prices seemed pretty high to me. Also the pools water wasn't the hottest. Maybe I'm a wuss, but they weren't super comfortable to be in a long time. Possibly another reason why I spent so long in the sauna area (where they have several different temperatured rooms).
I'd go back if I was in the area but again it would be for the sauna.

I went to this place two times within a week. There are lot of pools, slides, trampolines and even a climbing wall. They also have like 8 saunas and the best part is that they organize sessions in these saunas every hours. Make sure to be there 15 minutes earlier cause they are usually fully packed. Unfortunately they have 2 and 4 hour packages and a ticket for a whole day, but from my experience 3 hours would be the ideal length of a stay. Prices are pretty reasonable.
Arpad Tamas Madaras — Google review
One of best saunas within reasonable range. Friendly staff, regularly cleaned floors and reasonable prices of drinks and food (can be better, can be worse). The only point is that in late afternoon it gets way too crowded and honestly I'm not sure if the capacity is set properly...
Liked it anyway 🙂

It's a good spa with a good restaurant inside, they have cheap fast-food. Probably they should add more variaty and options for hydro massages, there aren't many at all. The sauna is nude only.

The best Therme in the area. A lot of hot swimming pools to relax, hot temperatures in the pools, chilaxing decoration and roof, great restaurants with tasteful dishes, great slides that offers a lot of fun and affordable prices for the whole family. An example of the perfect Therme.

I had a great time here with my two daughters (8&6). We booked a four hour pass and it was the perfect amount of time. Unfortunately, we only discovered two additional pools when we had only an hour left - the outdoor pool, which was the perfect place to hang out in the cool night air, and the lap pool with diving boards. With all the variety I can’t imagine anyone getting bored. The three slides were so much fun although two of them were only for older kids.

Our family loves this place. Been here repeatedly and never saw the place crowded... Fun for all age groups. Water slides are well maintained, pools are of various temperatures and features (climbing wall, jumping towers, artificial waves...) The atmosphere is laid back and calm. Not the biggest or newest place on Earth but it just feels nice. Decent selsection of drinks and food available.

Praise for the complete facility. The food is very tasty and is ready very quickly. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The only objection is the massages. My boyfriend took a 75-minute massage that lasted only 50 minutes. Although the website says that the massage costs €96, he paid €115 for it. We will come back again, but certainly not for massages.

Lots of different water activities to do including three great slides, waves climbing over the pool, diving board, salt poles and lots more other things. It's very well priced and we stayed there for 4 hours. Fully happy with our children

Fun swimming pool. We were in the area on holiday and the weather was not very good, so we decided to go there on Monday morning at 9AM (opening time). The queue at that time was about 45mins. They have a special rate for two parents and one child, which was nice. The Flachau Card gives discount on the 4 hour visit making it almost the same price as the 3 hour one. There are few changing booths, a few bigger group changing rooms. The lockers open with your ticket. The baths are nice and most have some kind of minerals in them that are supposedly healthy. We only used the clothed part (baths) and did not buy entry to the sauna part. The baths were pretty busy, but it did not feel overly full. They have three slides. One is doable together with young kids (although the rules say >8, my 6 year old daughter loved it), but the one with the funnel is a bit too fast and not allowed for kids >10. I tried it and would definitely not recommend "bending the rules" for that one. The third one has a looping and I did not try that one.

Pools are quite equipped and you can have a lot of fun also with children. Sometimes it is really crowded but you can check that on web site. I would give better mark but at the end, when we wanted to take shower before going home, water was cold and we could not shower our children there.

We loved the sauna zone and it's pool zone. It was chill (no kids, no yelling), clean. Not for shy persons (FKK zone - no clothes).
The regular pool zone was great too, perfect for families with kids.

One of a kind experience, safe and fast, highly recommended! Disclaimer; the staff expects you to put on your own straps, which is obviously doable, but for first timers, it would be nice to receive the staff’s closer attention.
I recommend taking the flying coaster to arrive to the original starting point more easily (however, if you consider the prices too high, a 10 minutes walk will also do).

Nothing to complain about. Friendly staff, wonderful experience...just do it! 4 people can go at the same time and if you're in the vicinity, do try and check the availability in person, ignore the weather forecast or the website info. Maybe the waiting line was a bit bigger...I waited like 30m after I got equipped to actually ride and like another 30m for the coaster (but that is to be expected I guess). Also try the zip line + coaster...they go well together.

The Salzwelten Hallstatt is a salt mine museum located above the town of Hallstatt. It is known for its educational exhibits, including information about how salt is formed and the history of mining. The mine has deep shafts that date back to the Bronze Age, making them among the oldest in the world. Visitors can take a bilingual tour that goes into detail about these topics and even includes a ride on miners' slides, with one slide being 60m long.
I really enjoyed the museum and the tour of the salt mine. It was very informative and there's a lot to see inside. It's supposed to be the oldest salt mine in the world and the tour goes through all its history, from ancient times to modern days.
The slides and the short train ride are a nice touch and everyone has fun using them.

When visiting upper Austria and the lake Hallstatt area, this is a must do activity, visiting the oldest active salt mine in the world. The tour through is a great experience.
While waiting for the tour to start there is a cafe (snacks/finger food too) and bathroom in the building. The tour guide is friendly and is done in both German and English when going through. They are very knowledgeable as they explain about the salt mine, the mining process and it's history. There are a number of interactive visual experiences as you go through. It's really a well maintained and clean experience.
Take some warm clothes with you, you are given overalls to wear over your clothes, and a free locker to leave your belongings in before you enter the mine. Inside the mine was about 8 degrees Celsius.
We went as a family of 4 with 2 young kids 4 and 5, and they enjoyed it too. There are a couple slides and a train ride to finish it off.

Beautiful place. It’s a unesco world heritage site! Amazing 7000 year history of salt mining. Superb views from the top! The guides are amazing and so are the ways that the miners used to travel! Slides and trains!! The story told by the guides are amazing and very involved! The value for money the attraction provides is amazing! Must visit. Do not miss. If you go ins summer, you will have a lovey route to walk up as well. In the winters the funicular is great and provides the best views too!

Very particular place, standing on top of a hill, reachable via funicular (cost of the funicular and salt mine entrance = 36). There is a parking nearby the funicular Station. The tour of the mine takes 2 hrs. Better to go early, since there is always a queue. You are provided of special clothes to dress on top of yours. Then there is a walk to get into the tunnels and the caves areas, where a guide shows you how the salt is extracted. In a dedicated section a movie shows how in the prehistoric eve the salt was extracted. There are then two slides very funny to move from one area to another. Finally a train brings you back to the starting point. Highly recommended.

You need to take the cable car up here, otherwise it's a one hour up hill hike. At the time of writing (June 2023), the combined cable car and salt mine tour ticket costs EUR 40. I'd say in total we spent about 3 hours total for the mine and the viewing platform. The cable car takes you up hill to where the Hallstatt skywalk viewing platform is. There is also a restaurant and toilets there. From there to get to the mine you need to walk maybe 10 or 15 minutes up hill, a large part of it was very steep, I think it will be very very challenging if mobility is an issue.
The nearest car park is car park #2 and its a 5 min walk to the cable car station. We didn't prebook tickets because we had read online that car park #2 gets full easily and were worried that we wouldn't be able to find parking in time. In the end we arrived around 10am on a Friday and managed to find parking easily and only then bought tickets for the cable car and mine. Not sure what it's like on weekends.
The view from the skywalk viewing platform was pretty, although I don't think I'd say it's unmissable nor must see. Take a look at the photos below and decide for yourself. The platform is quite small and can get very busy as everyone is trying to take pictures from one single spot.
The visit to the mine a guided tour with two short slide rides. There is also a short mine train ride on the way out. The children will loved it. The tour itself consists mainly of a few videos telling you about the history of the mine. I like history so I found it quite interesting. Despite this I don't think I'd say that the salt mine is an unmissable attraction when visiting hallstatt.

Amazing and unique experience. Good guided tour. But there are lot of improvements to be made. There is about 600-800 meters uphill walk after the funicular, which is difficult for small children and elderly. Walking back and forth takes a lot of time and thus very less time and energy is left for enjoy the view at Welterbeblick. Secondly, there are lot of screens and visuals. Which is good in one aspect, but they should focus more on showing more real stuff, as it is the oldest operational salt mine.

Best day ever, unforgettable experience. We had so much fun make sure to arrive max 10 am to avoid waiting in lines. You will spend 1 hour and half there and you will enjoy the 2 slides and the train ride. Unforgettable day. We paid 40 euro with funicular ride well worth the price. It was very cold inside make sure to take your jacket with you or wear it under the costume. It was -10 degree in July. Very nice experience

My family came here a couple years ago and really enjoyed our tour. It's a bit of a trek up the hill to get to the entrance.
Because the tour goes pretty deep into caves they supply coveralls for everyone due to the cold. Once the tour started we got lots of information on the salt mine history. There are a couple slides to go down that bring you farther into the caves and then a train ride out. It was very cool!

We visit the mine with tour, and I really like the guide it was very cool. I enjoyed the museum part. This salt mine is the oldest mine in the word and I extremely enjoy the movies that they showed during the tour, which very informative and there's a lot to see inside. To use the slides and the short train ride are very fun.

In the beginning we thought not to go to the salt mine, because it did not sound very exciting. However, due to the cold weather we had in this day we decided to visit the mine, and it was a very good decision. The kids like it from the minute we entered the site. We got special white uniforms as the mine workers, and the tour was very interesting including a lot of explanations on the one side, and entertainment on the other side as movies and animations. We saw an underground, lake and cool demonstrations of many kinds of salts and minerals. We also used 2 nice slides inside the mine, and ended the tour on a fast adorable train.
There is a 15-20 min walking from the lift station to the mine which located in the top of the hill.

Pretty amazing experience. Very interesting history, I did not know before that salt mining goes back to 7000 BC in this area. Some good to know facts: the time you book online is the funicular ascent time, not the tour start. And you will not be allowed to take the funicular at an earlier time. So consider that. The tour goes pretty quickly I did not have time to listen to the audio guide. I am planning to listen tomorrow on my way to drive home.

It is worth paying €40 for the Kombi ticket, which includes a guided tour to the salt mine.
After the furnicular, plan another 10+ minutes of uphill walk to reach the meeting point for the guided tour.
During hot summer, bring additional warm jacket, as temperatures inside the salt mine are around 8°C.
The tour lasts 1h30min and is fun and informative, with a blend of action (slides and a train ride back to surface) and information (by tour guide and several places with videos in German with English subtitles).
You can pre-download their audio guide app on your phone, to get explanation in your language (the tour is only in German and English). You may also want to bring your own earphones to listen to the audio guide during the tour.

Very interesting place that you don't see very often... It is worth visit from the very beginning - the funicular that takes you up to the altitude of 838 metres almost vertically, with amazing views over the lake and the village.
Inside the mine (that goes considerably higher than the funicular's end point) there are little trains and huge slides that allowed miners to move swiftly from one cave to the the next one. You're given old cloths to keep you protected from the salt. Some interesting information on the historic context of the mines.

This place is totally worth the visit. The views you see from the top are breathtaking.
I highly recommend the salt mine tour, but here are my pros/cons:
Pros:
1. The guides are knowledgeable and funny
2. It’s an extremely interesting place to see how salt was mined throughout history and how it forms
3. Suitable for all ages
Cons:
1. You sit and watch many videos throughout the tour about history/methods/info that I found to be too long and boring. The guide can just explain it without us having to sit and watch. There was about 3-4 videos, some are in German and only subtitled in english.
2. You wear the miners uniform which is nice, and keeps your clothes safe underneath, but if you’re wearing a long jacket it’s going to be really uncomfortable.
It took us 90 minutes almost to finish the tour, in my opinion it should take not more than an hour without the videos.

The weather is Hallstatt is variable so go prepared and check the forecast before going there, the drive from Vienna to Hallstatt is easy meanly true highway and last bit true the villages, really nice drive so a must try.
The salt mine experience is a super worth the money one so strong recommend it as is the world oldest salt mine as well! At the ends of the tour you will get the chance to try 3types of salt too and they will gift you a little salt container for each participant as well.

The experience was awesome and I learnt so much about salt mining. They provide the necessary clothing to go into the mine. We also get to play the mine slide which was extremely fun. The only problem was there was too much people in one tour, and the guide need to speak in both German and English, so it takes double the time. But it was during Christmas holiday so it’s understandable.

$40 euro per person for tram ride (to and fro) and salt mine. It’s worth the money for the views alone. It’s a bit of a walk from the tram to the mine so don’t expect to just be right there. There is so much to look at on the walk including the salt mummies they found there and a mini-temple to St. Barbara.
Fun fact. St. Barbara is the patron saint of miners. Her father beheaded her for being a Christian.
Once you get to the mine you stay in a waiting area until the next tour. Once the tour begins you go into an additional room where you put on your salt mining gear. There are lockers, free of charge. You walk through a photo history area before the tour officially begins. Once inside the mine, they provide a wealth of information in both English and German. There are two fun slides, the second of which a photo is taken. 5 mini films, a light show, salt tasting, and a train ride out.
My favorite part was the light show around the water- it’s very mind trippy. Doesn’t even look like water. A copy of your slide photo is 8 Euro, cash only.

Came for the visit that is worth of the ticket value. Interesting fact to know the history of oldest salt mine in the world. Also had fun with two slides and one tram ride in the mine.
At an elevation of 1,148 feet, the Hallstatt Skywalk offers a breathtaking view of the UNESCO World Heritage site. This observation deck provides a panoramic vista of the alpine landscape. Located in Hallstatt, Austria, it is a popular attraction during Christmas and winter seasons. The platform can be reached via a lift or Salzbergbahn funicular after descending from Krippenstein mountains. Visitors can cross a suspension bridge to reach Rudolfs tower before accessing the viewpoint platform.
Must come here. It is an UNESCO protected viewpoint. Extreme beauty. You can take the stairs or you can take gondola to go uphill. For winter season, the gondola is recommended. You can buy a ticket for gondola and viewpoint alone or you can combine it with an entrance ticket to the guided tour in salt mine. There is a nice restaurant here as well.

Such a amazing place! The perfect town to visit in winter. If you are lucky you can enjoy a sunny day after some snowing days, I thinks that it is the perfect way to visit Hallstatt. Is quite far away from Vienna, you have to take 2 trains and 2 buses, but the experience is totally worth. 8 hours are enough to visit the town. I also recommend to go up to the mountain with the funicular (in winter is not allowed to climb by the walk side). On top of the mountain there is an amazing view point and a restaurant. I hadn't enough time to do the mine salt attraction. I am totally in love with this town. If you really like lakes, mountains and beautiful cities, you have to visit Hallstatt

Hallstatt, Austria. One of the best place ever. Deep nice lake between the mountain, very old village built on steep mountain slopes, noisy mountain rivers, beautiful swans, charming streets and embankment, many souvenir shops and restaurants.
All this creates an unusual atmosphere when visiting this village.
There are few parking lots, first hour costs 4 euros, 2 hours - 7 euros, 4 hours - 9 euros.
The funicular in a few minutes will bring you to the magical place to see the village and the lake from a bird's eye view. The ascent and descent costs 20 euros. If you want to visit the exposition and go down into the salt mine, it will cost 36 euros

Hallstatt's story begins 250 million years ago. "White Gold" was discovered here when this vast area submerged under water gradually began to rise due to rising temperatures. That story from 800 to 400 B. C or Iron or Bronze Age. Salt extraction started from here 7 thousand years ago. Such is the story of the beginning of the UNESCO World Heritage and the most beautiful village in the world. But I am writing in detail about how to go to this place, how to travel cheaply, where to stay and what to see. Like all my other travel stories, I will try to write in detail here so that someone like me who wants to do the tour alone will not face any problem.

I visited this place while on my way to Salzwelten. It can be accessed via a funicular and then a short walk. There is a small restaurant close to this viewpoint, which offers beautiful views, and one can sit and relax there.
The view from this place is heavenly, and since it's narrow, it can accommodate only 1-2 people max. Photos won't be able to do justice to the view from here, but I have still posted a few. I would definitely recommend visiting this place to enjoy the view of Hallstatt and surrounding places from above.

In December of 2019, amidst the quietude of winter, I ventured upon the Hallstatt Skywalk Welterbeblick, a place where time seemed to fold into itself. Standing there, the world unfolded beneath me in a silent panorama of wintry beauty. It was an encounter that transcended the mere act of seeing—a moment where the soul found its mirror in the endless stretch of nature. In this serene suspension, I realized the true weight of beauty and time’s gentle passage. Awarding this experience a 95 out of 100 feels almost reductive, for numbers barely graze the surface of its impact—a memory etched in the essence of time itself.

The journey to the hilltop was filled with anticipation and excitement. As I made my way uphill, the promise of the skyline view ahead beckoned, motivating me with each step. Despite the misty conditions obscuring the mountains initially, I remained hopeful for the scenery to reveal itself. Thankfully, as I reached the summit, the fog lifted, unveiling a breathtaking panorama that exceeded all expectations. It's undoubtedly a must-visit destination for anyone seeking the beauty of nature's grandeur.
I went during off peak season and, therefore, avoided waiting times to go up or down the hill. As always, I suggest buying tickets in advance, but I didn't.

Not many people during the month of March. We went up the funicular and straight to viewpoint. Absolutely stunning view of the lake and surround mountains. It's foggy too so we need to wait for the fog to clear. Can't get enough of the view.

Very nice small town with great view. I visited here from Vienna . It took almost 4 hours to get there although the road conditions were great. If you have a car it is going to be a nice drive. Otherwise you can register with one of the day trip tours from Vienna. Obviously travelling with your own car you will be in charge if time schedule.
Eisriesenwelt, a massive ice cave discovered in 1879, is open to the public for guided tours during summer. It's considered the biggest accessible ice cave on earth, covering 30,000 sq metres and featuring 42km of narrow passages that delve deep into mountain's core. The tour takes you through surreal chambers of blue ice where visitors climb wooden steps and traverse pitch-black corridors illuminated by carbide lamps.
It’s a really difficult uphill walk, we walked for around 50 minutes, but couldn’t reach the end!!
Nevertheless, the view along the way is breathtaking and worth it,,
Parking lot were limited and it’s better, safer and more comfortable to keep your car downtown and go with the bus!!

Amazing experience to see the a piece of the massive ice filled cave system! Please take appropriate clothing with you! (I can recommend gloves).
Our guide was great at telling the story of the cave, and was keen on answering questions we had.
Make sure you are fit! There are a lot of steps to take in there.

We absolutely loved this - short hike to the ice cave, views are stunning outside and inside the ice cave, natural ice forms are surreal - felt like I was in some scenes from game of thrones/lord of the rings. Quite a lot of upward/downward stairs (some fairly steep) inside the cave. Not a place for baby prams/buggies!
L. Wong — Google review
The ice formations are absolutely stunning. It was also fascinating to see layers of ice going back thousands of years. It is definitely worth a visit.
The guide was great and really nice.
The walk to the caves offers stunning views onto the surrounding peaks and valleys.
We went with a 4 and a 7 years old who are very good walkers (they can easily hike several kilometers on steep mountain path) and they both absolutely loved it.
It seems it is usually prohibited to take pictures most of the time. In practice, it would be unsafe in most places with so many stairs, but possible while the guide stops to deliver some information.
Beware that the caves are not accessible to all:
- the walk to the cave can be a bit long and steep for some.
- there are 1,400 steps to go through in the cave (not high, but some parts are very steep). About half the visit goes up the stairs and then the other half goes down.
- the visit is lit with flames, so low lighting can make it uneasy for some to watch their steps properly.
You need:
- warm clothes (0°C in the caves)
- good footwear (recommend hiking shoes)
- be in reasonable physical shape
- If carrying a young child, a back carrier
Estelle NEVO — Google review
The largest ice cave in the world, with up to 42 kilometres of depth, but the ice is only across the first kilometer. It's colder outside than inside as there's no wind inside the cave, but still a sweater and a cap are necessary. Memorable experience.

Take the cable car up, the alternative hike is very dangerous. The cave is amazing to see, you will Explore it in the dark with oil lanterns to guide you. Worth the experience but go early because it can get quite busy.

It was very good especially the ice sculptures and the hike had a very nice view . The only thing was that they kept taking whichever group was bigger so the German group always went and the English group had to wait for almost and hour for the tour guide to come . We told the person there and he did not do anything or answer our questions.

Ice Cave is a unique experience. Me and my teenager kids (13, 15 and 17) loved it. Make sure to bring warm clothes as it is zero degrees inside. Prepare yourself for a challenging walking and climbing stairs (details on website). We spent around 3 to 4 hours in total. You can eat during your way down in a lovely panoramic restaurant with nice and correct menu and prices.

Great place. Just remember that it is very cold inside (around 0 C) and it is very popular - a lot of tourists! Better to go there in the middle of the week.

Absolutely spectacular!! But it’s physically demanding. Must walk uphill quite a ways, get on a gondola, walk uphill again until you reach the ice cave. Then in the cave, there are 700 steps up and 700 steps down. But it’s well worth it!!!
Wendy Roland — Google review
Difficult 40 minutes uphill walk from the parking to the cave in addition to a 5 minutes cable car but it's worth every minute. The views on the way are amazing and the tour in the ice cave is wow. In the cave you have to climb 1400 steps so you should be in quite good shape
israel yogev — Google review
Amazing ice cave to visit however if you really want to enjoy the tour, you must bring:
- Winter coat, warm socks and a pair of winter gloves, hiking boots
You will stay about 1hr inside the cave and it is freezing cold as expected. If you are around Salzburg or Munich, you should add this cave tour your itinerary.

Amazing experience! The climb to the cave was heavy (even if you're a fit person). But it's all worth it! Go as early as you can in the morning to avoid crowds.

Har to get up. Poor information about necessary equipment. Very few toilets. We asked staff many times if the place was suitable for small kids and us, wearing summer clothing. The staff assured us it would be fine. Well. It wasn't
We payed almost 80 euros and couldn't even see the cave

Great place to visit! The hike is perfect length for children and the views are magnificent (in autumn) ! It is not stroller friendly, so taking a baby or child (hiking) carrier is the preferred option. In the cave itself there are lot of stairs. Dress up properly-it is cold inside.
Ivana Naumoska — Google review
Highly recommended! It’s worth the price in my opinion. Absolutely stunning to see. You go deep and very high up into the cave with everything changing. The guide gives good information and lights up some of the more fascinating sculptures formed by the ice.
It’s a little complicated to plan your visit there to be honest but once you’re there it’s easy going:
*Pack warm clothing!*
1. book a ticket in advance online
2. there’s parking at the bottom of the mountain with a shuttle that takes you up to the visitor center where you have to be within your time slot that you chose on your tickets. Alternatively, you can take your vehicle to drive up yourself (very steep and curvy roads!) and find parking roughly 10min away from the visitor center which you have to walk.
3. scan your tickets at the visitor center and walk roughly 20min up to the gondola. After that, the time on your tickets don’t matter anymore so take your time. You can either walk a scenic panorama-hike or walk through a lit-up tunnel which is a little less steep.
4. take one of the two gondolas up (2-5min max.)
5. and then walk another 20min to the entrance of the cave. Here you can put on your warm clothes and get ready for the cave.
6. After max 15min you will be let in with a group of roughly 30 others.
If you have a dog that’s scared of heights, darkness or that has sensitive paws, I would recommend not bringing it as you need at least one hand to make sure you’re not falling yourself (steep steps and dark surroundings) and so you can focus on what’s around you - would be a shame to miss.

Amazing place with great views during walk up. It could be hard for older people or small kids. In cave is cold, but all tour inside takes 60-70 minutes and aroumd 700 stairs up and 700 down. Better is it early in the morning. I saw around 20 persons, later there was so much more people.
Lucia Uríčková — Google review
The tour is worth the money. If you come with public transport, make sure that you get the hourly shuttle bus directly to the ticket center.
From there you need to hike about 20 minutes to the lift and then another 15 minutes to the cave entrance.
The inside of the ice caves is very beautiful and the guides explained a lot of the history and development of the Eisriesenwelt.

Breathtaking😍. From the parking lot you have to walk uphill close to 25 minutes to the cable car. Then the cable car ride take around 3 minutes. Post the cable car ride, walk again about 25 minutes uphill to get to the entrance of the cave. In the cave you will visit the 1-1.2 km having around 700 stairs one way. The guide explains in detail about the cave system and it’s history. Don’t miss

On this tour, you'll experience all that the town has to offer. Explore the Old Town and stop to visit the village's unique Beinhaus (House of Bones), a collection of 1,200 decorated human skulls. Admire the view of Mühlbach Waterfall and on the way there observe the colorful Baroque houses scattered on the mountainside. The whole experience in Hallstatt is ok except the only supermarket gave me a bad experience, the cashier in this store is racist especially towards Asian. Eagle's Nest, Nazi mountain-top retreat now a restaurant with views, located near Berchtesgaden. The lodge is reached by special shuttle bus from the Kehlsteinhaus bus station and can only be visited by those with a valid tour ticket. It is number one on the tourist list for things to do in Berchtesgaden, and Synonyms include: mountaintop retreat, luxurious lodge built for Hitler, expensive house, luxury home.
The buses are clean, comfortable and very timely. It is very well run and organized. You can either bus, hike or bike to the top where incredible views await. Don't go thinking you can tour the property however. Accessible space is limited to bathrooms and a restaurant mainly. There are restrooms, a restaurant and gift shop at the bottom where you catch your appointed, time specific bus. You must pay for parking using coins only so be prepared. Once at the top you can wander the grounds of the property and climb stairs and short trails leading to amazing views. Proper footwear is encouraged if you hike trails. It's very rocky and uneven.

Great example of NSGWP engineering and excess. Being one of the few standing buildings of the era this a must visit for any history nerd. Arrive early in the day to allow time to explore, enjoy a beer, and have lunch. Discover the fascinating Salzwelten Salzburg, Austria's largest show mine, where visitors can experience the historical significance of salt mining during Salzburg's princely era. Descend into the depths of the earth wearing a boilersuit and embark on a thrilling tour aboard a rickety train that navigates through narrow passageways, crosses into Germany, and includes an exhilarating 27m slide. Despite initial skepticism about visiting a mine, many have been impressed by the service and organization provided.
Had a great time, was interesting, the guide, Niklas, did the whole tour in fluent German and English, was very knowledgeable, and engaged with the children on the tour as well and answered their questions patiently and with enthusiasm. Would highly recommend, and would encourage tipping the tour guides afterwards, as they are very well informed and make the tour worthwhile!

This was surprisingly fun! When I first heard “salt mines” I wasn’t sure how fun it would be but you see the way they invest in the tour experience and it pulls you in. Our tour guide Niklas was EXCELLENT - Expert at swapping between German and English, talking to kids, teens, adults. The slide was the most fun. I’m from Minnesota so it was a fine temp in the cave with a light jacket - the coldest part is when you take the “train” into the mountain. We were staying in Salzburg near Old Town so it takes some maneuvering to get there via public transit. Do not take Uber Taxi - it didn’t show the metered fare before we selected it - I mistakenly assumed it would be cheaper than the 50 Euro Uber and it was 70. We took the train home. Thanks to Niklas for a great experience!

This might have been the highlight of our trip to Austria. The kids (8&6) were super reticent about going, sure that ninety minutes would be too long and ‘why do we always have to go on tours’ but they ended up being blown away. They couldn’t say enough about it afterwards and kept on bringing up new things that they were impressed by. Our tour guide was super friendly and helpful. She seemed to go out of her way to include my youngest and feel like she was getting a special tour. The views from outside the visitors Center are astonishing and they have a special platform for taking lovely pictures.

Wow, what a wonderfull experience!
We were 6 adults and 6 kids and we had an amazing time. The tour starts with special clothes you put on top of your clothes. Then you go by a small train to the mine and then start walking. At some point you even cross to Germany!
There is also a fun slide inside and a boat with a lights and sounds show. It was so much fun and so well done, we all enjoyed it so much.
It costs 30 eur for adults, it is not included in the salzburgcard.
Don't miss it!!

Really enjoyed the guided tour (~70 mins in total). It was an immersive and engaging experience as a whole, would definitely recommend to do this in Salzburg.
The tour is conducted in both German and English, so it is okay for those who may not understand German.
Very cool looking displays, as well as informative videos shown at different stations to help visitors better understand the history of salt mining in Austria. There is a short boat ride within the salt mine, and a station to taste the brine if you like to try.
There are two slides as part of the guided tour. For the first slide, your photo will be taken as you slide down (you can purchase a physical copy of it for €9 at the end of the tour). Your sliding speed will also be measured and shown on a display panel as you reach the bottom. Think kids will like the slides. The second slide is longer, but no photos taken/speed measured.

This was very fun. There were two very fun slides and a fun train ride (2x). Our tour guide was great. The shop was very nice as well. The only negatives I will say is that our tour was too full. There were about 60 of us and finding spots on the train were difficult for those last in line. Also when we had to watch a movie or gather around to look at something he was explaining, many people could not see. The guide could have been better about instructing others to let children come forward or to make a wider circle. There were many rude people on our particular tour and they shoved their way in front and blocked views for little ones. Very frustrating.
Otherwise the tire was much more fun and interesting than you would expect. I will also say that the gourmet salt can be found in the shops in old town Salzburg for about 2/3 the price. So maybe don't buy salt from them.

At first, I was sceptical about visiting a mine but I quickly changed my mind about the service and organization. I was a speleologist in the past so I know the dangers of heading deep into a mountain. We were given thick clothes to not get dirty and keep warm as inside the mine there is 8°C all year long. The journey started with a 3 min banana train ride and then proceeded by feet in a circle for then get back to the train and outside. The whole tour is 3 h. The tour guide explained professionally but also funnily to us in detail the history of the mine and the way from the past to modern times the salt is still extracted today. There are two wood slides in the mine, they are an example of how people in the past were used to moving from one tunnel to the other. We tasted the brine, one drop can cure your soar throat!
The air inside the tunnel has 100% humidity with salt particles and it gave us two irritations to the throat for the whole two days after the visit, however, I suggest going.

A very nice salt mine tour near Salzburg.
Takes about 1-1.5 hours for the guided tour. A bit pricy but we had fun.
A cart takes you inside the mine where you can appreciate different techniques of mining salt- anti ER times to modern days. 2 nice mine slides. You also cross the border to Germany underground at some point.
Perfect activity for a rainy day in the area.

Railway transporting passengers on a picturesque ride to the summit of Schafberg Mountain.
Definitely worth doing. Views are amazing from the top. You can buy a one way ticket up and then walk down or buy a round trip. Walking down from the top takes about 3 hours depending on how fast you walk and how much you stop. We had to specify a time for the return but were able to change the time once we got to the top. At the very top is a cafe with outdoor seating. Great 360 views. There are a few pathways to walk around up top. Probably want to plan to spend time to walk around and take pictures or do some light hiking. For a weekday in peak summer it was crowded. Don’t have to buy tickets too far in advance but you might have to wait a couple train times if you do walk up in peak season.

The Schafberg Bahn offers an intriguing experience with a scenic trip, but it's advisable to avoid it during the summer. The cabins tend to heat up significantly, reaching uncomfortable temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius, especially since they are packed with passengers. The high price of 50 euros per person for this experience feels steep. However, the panoramic view from the top is breathtaking, featuring a 360-degree perspective. Additionally, there are two restaurants available for refreshment during your visit.

Nice mountain with beautiful views of the valley and lakes around it. Best way to get there is by the steam train, which takes about 35 minutes and run every 20 minutes during peak period (hiking is also an option).

A fun and unique way to get up the mountain.
We went during peak season in August.
We went early to get the first train at 08:50 and to be able to park in the car park right next to it which fills up fast.
Had pre bought tickets online.
Views from top amazing and huge restaurant as well as other food stands.
Love the trains in the bright red, makes for good photos and video of them chugging up and down.
Made the mistake of walking all the way back down 4250 feet. A bit much!

Unique experience, but there is too many people and not so much to do on the top. Don’t get me wrong, the views are amazing, but there is not much to do on top.

Beautiful ride up the mountain! A bit expensive, but I get why: the train station and the ride up are modern and smooth. We had no issues. Once up, I recommend staying around 2h and maybe do a little hike on the right side of the train station, as you look up the mountain.

Nice experience in a slow-moving train with beautiful scenery along the way. The view at the peak is beautiful. A must-do activity if you are around the region. You won't regret it with the amazing scenery you get at the peak. It's quite pricey as it costs euro 47.6 per adult but it's worth it. Need to book the descending train slot when you buy the tickets.

Fun steam train ride of about 35 minutes with amazing views along the way. Our group road the train on a Monday around 11:30 am. We didn’t experience any issues, but the train was fully sold and completely full.
Recommend arriving early enough to be able to pick seats together (especially for larger groups). Also recommend being near the window when possible to get a breeze when it’s available. When our group went, the temperature outside was in the high 70s, but inside the train, it was significantly hotter. These trains have no air-conditioning and little circulation so be aware in the summer months.
Overall, the views were amazing, you won’t be disappointed.

The Best Mountain Train Experience you can have.
Superb views , everything was run professionally and no issues at all with anything .
My suggestion is to make sure you book your tickets online beforehand like we did . For both up and down trips time to suit you.
Makes life a lot easier as you are then guaranteed a seat on the trip time that you selected.
The whole experience was awesomeness at its best !

Not for people with health conditions! I was excited to enjoy the view and was expecting that in 2023 society is inclusive and options are offered for visitors that have problems walking or hear problems etc , but I had to learn , just do not go up. I managed to get on the train, but to reach the hotel and restaurant on top , one has to walk ca 1/4 mile steep uphill. If you can not do it, there is really nothing you can enjoy at the train station on top…. Maybe the rest rooms 😢 … otherwise really no. Onside ration for the disabled . Should have read before , but pretty disappointing … enjoy other sides that carry for people that had surgery and can not walk an incline , but do not expect any help or provision … hope they wake up one day and think about society members in wheel chairs or otherwise challenged people … until then never again

Awesomeness all around.
Even the drive to this point was breathtaking.
Price of a round trip is a bit on the higher side. 43 euro per person. But we dont mind that a bit.
It takes around 30 mins for one side. Vintage style travelling. Views around just keep getting better. Might be hard to climb in for people with some difficulty with legs. No arm chair support.
Note: you have to select boarding and returning time before hand. At the counter, they accept card payment too.
In all, if you can, don’t miss it.
There are eateries at the top. But carry some cash.

Markt 35, 5360 St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut, Austria
Zwölferhorn is a popular destination for winter sports and hiking enthusiasts, boasting a 4,993-foot summit that can be reached by cable car or ski lifts. Visitors are treated to stunning views of Lake Wolfgang and the surrounding Salzkammergut region. The mountain also offers challenging trails for hikers, but the reward at the top makes it worth the effort with opportunities to enjoy beer while taking in one of life's best views.
Amazing view of Wolfgangsee from the peak.it takes around 10 mins to reach to the peak with cable car. It's a beautiful hiking trail.can easily spend 4-5 hours here. The night before we went it had snowed quite a bit, n it was amazing to walk around in fresh snow. There's a lil restaurant which offers good food.

It's a mountain peak of St.Gilgen and Wolfgangsee. Just takes 10 minutes to reach the peak. There is a restaurant at the mountain for refreshing.
Walking trails are having some amazing views.

Amazing view
The price of cable car is about 30 euros
There were many people going up to the mountain although it was cold

Great, sometimes challenging trail, but views and beer on the top are worth it. Horses and cows everywhere. :) I reccommend it. About 3 hours to the top and 2 hours back to Sankt Gilgen - ordinary walking.

Love the mountain, great nature. Great landscape view of lake wolfgangsee and sankt gligen, you can see much of other mount peeks of austrian and german alps.
Cable cars are amazing and clean and take u to the right place.
It has a good cafeteria and very clean bathroom.
Very good place for a hike.
I really recommend.

A beautiful place to visit, great views and a good place for parasailing 🪂
Part of the Schloss Mondsee, this Basilika was where , in which the wedding scene of Maria and Baron Georg von Trapp was filmed from Sound of Music. Be prepared for the beautiful and macabre sights that await you in this lovely cloister church.

A beautiful Basilica in a nice little town. Worth a visit if you are traveling Austria or just passing by. If you’re a movie fan, you know why this place is famous. If not, it is still beautiful and worth a quick stop. It was free to go in, and there was a free Water Closet on the other side of the square.

Beautiful church which was featured in The Sound of Music.
Very soothing and relaxing looking at the grand surroundings of the church and there is also a nice gifting shop attached to it.

Absolutely beautiful church with a different style. The pinks and florals were nice, and the 5 skeletons in the alter are a cool touch! There’s a lovely little Christmas market right outside during the winter.

Beautiful catholic church in the centre of the town... The external architecture is calm and the inner carvings are indeed pretty. The colourful streak of buildings outside the church boundaries gives the whole area a very warm and jolly feel. There's a great souvenir shop too onside...a little expensive though. This church is a must visit when close by..

Nothing special from the exterior, but a beautiful interior in soft pastel pinks makes up for it. Famous because Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer got fake married there.
I really wanted to see the cage where they locked up the nuns during the wedding scene, but couldn't find it. Movie magic, I guess!

A "must-see" for anyone retracing the steps of the "Sound of Music" movie. This is the church where the "Maria Problem" was finally solved, both in the movie and in real life.

Always enjoyed the Sound of Music and lit a candle for my mother and grandmother as this was their favorite movie. This was the church they were married in during the movie. Beautiful church.

The wedding of the Von Trapps was filmed inside this church for the Sound of Music but the real couple didn’t get married here. It’s a lovely church with a nice gift shop and large plaza in front. Plenty of cute shops nearby including ice cream, cafes, and souvenir shops. It’s easy to pass a few hours here.

I went there on the sound of music tour. This is the actual church where the wedding in the movie was officiated.
Besides the sound of music trivia, this church is an impressive testimony of art. If you happen to be in Mondsee or around the area I recommend you visiting it.

Such a wonderful church the inside is so nice. Love the town that its in. A must see! The church in the sound of music.

This is the cathedral where Captain von Trapp married Maria in the Sound of Music. The outside is Ok and we were trying to figure out out of all the beautiful churches in Austria what they would choose this one. I think part of it is the proximity to the Mondsee Lake where they filmed the boat ride and the bike ride. I also think the central doors and the grand stairs leading up to the alter were very grand. The art was over the top decorative. We went for a Sunday mass and the choir and organ were wonderful. They concluded the service with a wine gathering outside. I think that was unique to this Sunday but how do I know? They literally spent 15 minutes off the service talking about their wine venture and the priest blessed a huge cask.

Beautiful town, fabulous Basilika, a must visit for sound of music fans as this is the location for the wedding of Maria and the Captain in the film. Really wonderful food and cafe bars set against the Mountains and lake.
