Located just 50 metres from the sandy beach of Porto Giunco, this extended stay hotel offers complete independence in self-catering accommodation. With features such as kitchenettes and balconies or patios, it's a perfect spot for those looking for a hassle-free holiday. Plus, free breakfast means you'll be set for the day ahead.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Although it was just the beginning of the season and not everything was as smooth as if the season is fully on, it was great to see how the hosts were taking care of these issues to make the best out of it! We felt very welcoming and well treated. Communication was great, easy to contact and very proactive! Also the location is very beautiful, just directly next to the beautiful beach and closely enough to the city center. just great! We would recommend staying at Puerto Giunco residence. Thanks for having us!

We stayed here for two nights. The room was really nice with cute small terrace and big garden. The woman at the reception was friendly and kind, she even offered us drive to the center of the place. There is also a terrace with tables for coffee and breakfast of your choice (you can choose from various jams, cereals, croissants, etc.). Beach is very near, just few minutes of walking as well as the lake where you can see flamingos. If you want to rest and enjoy in sunsets on beachside, this is perfect place for it.

Me and my wife had a wonderful stay there in October 2021. The rooms are very nice, spacy and clean. The hotel owner very polite and helpful in any matter. The hotel itself has a perfect location because of the close proximity to the beach and for us this region is in any case one of the most beautiful places on Sardinia. Only one aspect may cause a minus point - breakfast - since there is no fresh bread and many things come from plastic bags. But, get yourself some fresh bread somewhere else and enjoy your stay in this location!

The Residence is a real paradise, rooms and territory are so cozy and comfortable! An amazing beach is so close to your door. But the main point were Paola and Pietro, these guys made our vacation unforgettable! Any question or any request will be managed immediately, they were so kind to us as no one did ever! Thank you guys, you did my journey awesome, when I'm in Sardinia the one&only place I would choose it's Porto Giunco Residence.

Where to start from, great location, walking distance to the best beach in Villasimius, Porto giunco beach, spacious and tastefully decorated rooms and great coffee. However the real star is your host Pietro the Residence manager, knowledgeable and professional , very welcoming and always ready to help. Plus point he speaks English and his dinner recommendations are always spot on.
Will definitely recommend it for your Villasimius holidays.

The beautiful white sand beach of Porto Giunco is perfect for a relaxing day by the water with family or friends. With crystal clear waters and plenty of sun loungers, this beach is always busy during the weekends but remains relatively peaceful during mid week. The most popular spot on Porto Giunco is Tre Esse Beach Bar where you can enjoy affordable drinks and snacks while soaking up the stunning views.
The most Gorgeous Beaches!!!!! Just magical!!! Get your lounge chairs in the private Delfino Beach club!! They dance from 120.00 to 40.00 and Well worth it!! White sand beaches and great little bar there!! Just Magical!

Absolutely stunning beach! White fine sands, Sea bottom the same soft White sands. The blue and turquise colors are just fantastic! Kids loved it as well! Some areas on the beach are crazy expensive. Walk away from the middle and you'll find better prices for umbrella and sun beds.
Best beach we did visit during our week in Sardegna!
Kai Karjalainen — Google review
Nice beach, its linked to a lot of resorts who have seating on the beach as well. There is 1 bar/shop on the beach. There may be more however only 1 near the access point from the main car park. The car park itself is very large although it was very busy so still hard to find parking. There is a 3 to 10 minute walk (depending upon how close you park to the beach itself) so if your carrying heavy items or children will be wary. A lot of seating available to purchase and scenery with mountains surrounding is very nice. See image of mountain during driver down to beach. Water is clean and there are rocks on either side for climbers/snorklers. Waves have been strong in Summer 2021 so I cannot comment on the water attitude during other times of the year or if this is a one off.
Abid Khan — Google review
Beautiful waters and nice view. Ideal for children as it is shallow. Bit crowded but ok mid june. Also beach bar available for a drink or bite. Parking 5€/day. Bonus: flamingo’s at the back.

A beautiful beach with white sand and gradual entry into the azure sea. The parking fee is 5 €. Unfortunately, the flamingos in the lake were far away and were not very visible.
Markéta L — Google review
Beautiful but too windy when we visited. There was even a sign prohibiting swiming due to strong currents
Ahmed Alkhatib — Google review
Visited this beach for the first time under an overcast sky with intermittent sun shining through. It actually turned out to be ideal condition (read - not too hot) to explore the long stretch of the beach with its fine/clean sand, azure water & limestone rocks. Beach access is free and there are many areas to spread your towel to lay out to get a tan or you can also pay to get a chair/umbrella. Give yourself an hour or two if you just want to wander around & explore the nooks and crannies. Or you can spend the whole day laying out & enjoying drinks/snacks. There is a small parking lot which is free as well. An immensely enjoyable & satisfying day for me & my friends.

Beautiful little spot in between the mountains and the sea. The food at the restaurant is excellent (and plentiful), with tons of fresh fish and meat. An overall great experience for a nice stay or great meal!

We stayed at the campsite for just one night. It was okay for this one night. I don't know why this is so expensive , for i have not found a reason why i shoukd pay more here. As i said, it was okay. But no more then okay.
The toilets are good enough so are the showers. I saw there are more outside showers than inside the building. You can empty your chemical toilet in a little outside space and you can take in fresh water near the reception.

Music from MiniDisco and animation team is loud, songs the same and lasts well after midnight. We'd prefer peace and quiet time after 11PM.
Minimarket is really mini - closed like size and nearest decent shop is in Muravera, 15min drive.

Not a lot of privacy or shade on this campign. Beach in vincinity is ok. Restaurant serves decent food and staff are nice. Okay for a night or two while travelling.

Not suitable for camping. The campers are left in a space in the middle of the mobile house village with minimum shade, or on a grass parcel with zero shade.
I haven't even inspected the sanitaries.
I love this place it’s amazing, the water there is incredible and full of fish, I spent a wonderful afternoon! You have to pay like 4 euros for the entrance, but it’s really worth, and there’s also a bar to eat and have drinks !

Beautiful beach with paid parking (10 euros for a full day, and a little less after 4:00 p.m.), you also have to pay 1 euro per person. The water is crystal clear, sandy beach clear. It has a beautiful snorkeling area.
TtW — Google review
I do not suggest to come to this beach, in spite of the crystal-clear water, fine sand, and nice sea fauna. The access to this beach by car has a fixed cost of 12€ plus a variable cost of 1€ per person, which makes for an especially high overall cost. Despite the high cost of access, the beach is then occupied for the most part by a private establishment. The sun shades of such establishment remain planted in the sand even when the place is nearly empty. As a consequence, people end up being overcrowded in the part of the beach that is not occupied by the private establishment. Notably, a place at the private establishment costs 25-30€ per day. All of this occurs even off season. For example, I was last here in October, and the situation was exactly as described above. Last but not least, sea waters are delimited by an annoying floating rope that is supposed to serve as a delimiter between swimming and navigable waters. In line with the spirit of the place, such delimitation turns out being very unfavorable to the swimmers.
Overall, this is yet another Sardinian municipality that has decided to address the exploitation of its natural endowments toward luxury tourism and strictly market-oriented mechanisms. The result is that a potentially wonderful spot is turned into an area that is not particularly worth visiting.
Laura Roich — Google review
Great beach, extremely calm and clear water. A little small and busy though, even out of season.
Ivan Stanishev — Google review
This beach is fabulous. There is the calm, pool-like side and there is the snorkeler-paradise side. There are out-of-this world rock formations. There are umbrellas and sun beds. There is parking.
- the cafeteria only serves cardboard-like sandwiches and some salads.
- parking is €10
- due to COVID limitations, they only allow a fixed number of people
- you should reserve sun beds and umbrellas in advance if you want one.
- take a pair of shoes you could climb rocks in - it is super cool. I did it in flip flops though :)
- take a mask and a snorkel - you’d thank me later :)

The Ex Stabilimento Florio delle Tonnare di Favignana e Formica is a waterfront museum that offers unique exhibits on local history. The renovated tuna factory showcases the fishing methods used over the last two centuries and tells stories about the founder family. Visitors can learn about the production of tuna cans through detailed models, photos, and set up scenes. The tour guide is knowledgeable and speaks good English, providing interesting insights into both the factory's production process and the Florio family's history.

Interesting museum centered around a former tuna fish processing factory. The whole island of Favignana was at one point owned by the Florio family, which owned the tuna processing facility and industry on the island. The Florio villa gives one a good idea of the wealth of the family at one time. All in all, the island, with its beautiful beaches and the ex Stabilimento Florio, is well worth a trip from Trapani via hydrofoil or regular ferry.

Discover the enchanting Scogliera di Cala Rossa, a stunning coastal area with crystal-clear blue waters and white sandy bottoms. Accessible by bike, this picturesque spot is best visited in the morning to avoid the midday heat. While swimming may be challenging due to strong waves and rocky entrances, the breathtaking scenery makes it worth a visit.
The most amazing beach to go with if it's a day with Scirocco Wind.

By far the most gorgeous spot we visited in Favignana. The colour of the water was so beautiful and the swim was just as glorious. Best way to get to Cala Rossa is by Scooter. (Translated by Google) San Pantaleo Island, formerly Mozia.
It is an island near the Stagnone di Marsala which can be reached from the pier where you will find free parking and a very friendly gentleman who will take you around the island by boat for a modest fee.
Motya is a small island rich in Phoenician finds exhibited in the island's Whitaker Museum. The excavations are visible by walking around the island (less than an hour) starting from the pier where the ferry leaves you. Near the Museum there is a refreshment area full of plant varieties. TIP: Walk around the island (on a dirt road along the perimeter), even if only in this way you will come across all the excavations including the Tophet (only 3 in Italy), the Bible, the word of God, mentions it in 2 king . Bring fresh water with you.
Cost of ferry + museum 15 euros.
The ferry, with a local guide, is a cultural/folklore experience that I recommend. Let him drop you off on the island, after having walked around it, and he will pick you up then...
Stand in the refreshment area and breathe in the smells of the sea and vegetation in complete relaxation.

Isola San Pantaleo anticamente Mozia.
Costo traghetto + museo 15 euro.

The Saline of the Laguna Marsala is a working salt pan and salt-processing facility that offers boat tours and a museum. It is located on Mozia Island and has an incredible history to tell. The bike path runs the length of the laguna, but unfortunately it does not go all the way back to Masala nor up to Trapani as it should.
This place is worth visiting, especially if you are interested in food and want to learn more about sea salt production. The tour was very insightful and you can feel the passion of the company to pass on information on the tradition and craft of salt production. I can recommend to do the tour around sunset time as this is a magical moment. I was there mid of November, if u want to see the truly pink waters, your should go visit in late summer before the harvest period starts. No matter when a beautiful and enriching experience.

A fantastic place to enjoy the sunset, good wine and perfect music. By the way, Vito was very kind. We booked online, 30 euros and we had a table on the edge of the salt flat, you could drink as many glasses of wine as you wanted and they served us a fish couscous and a granita. The music was good company and at the end of dinner we enjoyed dancing. Keep in mind that you have to be on time to see the sunset!

Awesome view especially sunset!
We were there in the same day 2 times around 16.00 for get apéritif and 19.00 for dinner. Everything was perfect unless 2 moments:
- waiter forgot 3 times to bring additional drink
- on dinner we ordered meat tartare and after it both of us had really strong diarrhea and 🤮 … looks like meat was not fresh.

Good insight in to traditional process of salt production. The guided tour starts with 10 min informative video followed by small museum visit.
The guide then takes you across different areas of the premises to show the process in real life.
Worth visiting.

we would have really liked to do the tour, but when we went, we were
told there is only one tour per day at 12(noon) and we had missed it.
We then thought we would get a drink in the cafe/restaurant and just enjoy the view,
but the staff there were rude, especially when we said we didn’t want food, just drinks. The drinks we wanted we were told were not available and then we just left…

Booked a tour of the salt plains and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of walking through a place where man and nature worked together to produce something that flavours our food so well. Kudos to our guide, Marta, who did a great job of providing a concise summary education of the still very manual salt production and the delicate ecosystem of the salt pools. Don't miss this if you are in Marsala!

Purchased the “Salt Workers For A Day” package and have zero regrets! Great experience learning about the salt pans of the area, how salt is made and harvested, and loved the experience of getting to try it ourselves. We came on a lucky morning and harvested Fiore Di Sale and got to take some salt home from our “hard work” ;) Our guide seamlessly switched between giving us the English speaking version of the tour and then the Italian version for the others in our group.

The Ettore and Infersa salt works established in Marsala in Phoenician times are a wonderful and beautiful experience. We travelled from Trapani-Birgi airport along the provincial coast road and followed signs for Saline e Mulini and the Mothia and Stagnone Nature Reserve. After watching a very informative film about the saltworks our guide Alide took us on a very interesting tour of the saltflats explaining ever important detail of the work carried out and exactly how the salt was obtained and produced from this fascinating place. I quote from their leaflet “Anyone who truly wishes to discuss saltworks must come to this place in the west of Sicily the old very old saltworks founded by the Phoenicians”. (Voltaire)

Well worth a visit
Using the cable car to visit the beautiful medieval village of Erice is a must. We were advised by our hotel to use this rather than drive up, as the view is better from high up and they were absolutely right. There is great parking immediately at the foot of the cableway charging just 1.5 euros for 3 hours. We struggled initially to find the parking and ended up halfway up the mountain having used the postcode from Trip Advisor but now knowing that it is actually at the cable station I would say just google the location of this and you can’t miss it. It’s just on the edge of the town. The village at the top is lovely with lots to wander around and some restaurants and cafes so leave a good 3 hours to do it justice.

Another example in Sicily where the tourist is considered a cow to spill the milk for free.
22 euro the cost of the ticket for 2 adults and 1 kid. The cabins are comfortable enough for 10 Min trip but everything look like old.
At the ticket office the officer was not really polite.
There is a parking lot very closed but it is toll.
It is a paradox, at this point we use the car to go to Erice.
Espatriando Lussemburgo — Google review
No ride taken, it was closed due to wind on a not very windy day. We drove up and was glad to find the drive isn't bad at all. Parking was also easy in Erice. No one needs to risk going up and then getting stuck up there. They randomly close these things.
nolimetangere — Google review
For a modest price of 9 euro/person you will get a return ticket to Erice. Nice shuttles for maximum of 8 person, not air-conditioned, but well-ventilated (was ok inside even though outside it was 38°C). Beautiful view and fast way up, there are also several bus stops nearby. Also, there are free of charge toilets (not very clean).
Ondřej Vaníček — Google review
We stood in line 40 (!!!!!!) minutes just to purchase the tickets while cars were going up half empty. Why? Because for some reason there was a huge bottleneck at the ticket office. One person only, line of at least 300 people and not moving very fast… Just a reminder that its 2023 and it’s time to introduce some quicker ticket purchasing options instead of the lady behind a glass wall struggling for her life…This was a ridiculous experience. Also the drug addict/dealer selling water on the corner doesn’t really scream “Welcome to Erice”.
Guna Puršele — Google review
€11 for a return ticket. There was no queue today at 12:30. We took the bus nr 23 from Trapani at Via Giovanni Battista Fardella 18

I dont understand the negative reviews. The ride was worth the money, considering how quickly and comfortably it gets you from trapani to erice. The views from the cabins were beautiful as well. It is a great way to transport you there and it is a great attraction itself as well.

The Torre campanaria del Duomo dell'Assunta is a magnificent historical landmark. Visitors must pay to enter and take a tour or climb up the tower, but it is definitely worth it if you have the time. The interior of the church is stunning, with beautiful lighting and colors on the ceiling that are sure to catch your eye. This wonderful church has a rich history and is considered very ancient, making it an essential stop for anyone interested in exploring Italy's cultural heritage.
Amazing gothic ceiling in this church. Nice view from the bells tower. I will say it’s the only two landmarks worth visiting, but for one euro more, you can buy the fulltour for 6 euros and can visit 3 others.

The tower creates amazing ensemble with the Cathedral nearby, and if you would be lucky enough (like I was) to see it covered with the mist from a cloud shrouding the mountain at which Erice stands - you'll never forget the scenery you witnessed.

The Garden of Balio is a charming medieval old town with narrow alleys and stone pavement. The church of San Giovanni Battista and the Antonino Cordici museum are must-see attractions, offering insight into the history of Erice. Visitors should explore the Norman castle, Castle and Towers of Balio, Pepoli Castle, Spanish Quarter, Porta Trapani, Porta Carmine, and Porta Spada.
Gorgeous gardens at the edge of the old town with spectacular views.
Everyone naturally heads for the castle structures but look for the little steps and winding terraces on either side of the main castle and you’ll be rewarded by million dollar 180 degree views of both Trapani and the countryside.
There’s also a cute cafe with an elevated terrace to sip coffee while indulging your Game of Thrones fantasies

The Castello Di Venere, also known as the Castle of Venus, is an ancient architectural wonder situated on the high cliff of Mount Erice in Italy. The castle showcases a Norman fortress dating back to the 12th century and is built over an ancient Roman temple. It's a popular tourist destination due to its majestic architecture, which attracts many foreign visitors regularly. At 2460 feet above sea level, it offers breathtaking views of the Italian countryside.

We drove all the way from Palermo to San Vito Lo Capo for the couscous festival.
We arrived about 1 pm and the place was not what I expected, it was very quiet not much happening.
We were told that there is only three booths selling couscous. We found a booth selling a variety of couscous and it cost €12 for a plate of couscous, a glass of wine/water and bitters/coffee.
The food was nice but not amazing.
Daniel Sgroi — Google review
I was in San Vito from the 10th to the 22nd of September. During the Cous cous fest the town becomes a sort of "Rimini", with music on the beach from 3pm onwards, which became very loud techno/disco music from 11pm to 1.30am on Friday and Saturday. The other days the techno/disco music played until half past midnight. This happened with a special permission from the police, as the Comandante explained to me. The food is not really good. For 10 euros you can get much better stuff in any "bar" or "tavola calda".
Before and during the Cous cous fest, garbage has remained for days outside the house (Via Meli), even though I took great care in following the detailed instructions provided by the authorities and repeated every evening (in Italian of course) by a car with a loudspeaker. Dogs, cats, and goats could repeatedly enjoy the rests of our meals and we could enjoy the sight of broken garbage bags.
The beach was almost every day full of seaweeds and other rests from the sea. It seems that neither the municipality nor the persons who rent the beach umbrellas are responsible for cleaning the beach, which I thought is a regular service in touristic areas (at least I have seen it on the Adriatic coast).
Even though the sun, the food and the people were nice, I won't go again to San Vito Lo Capo.
cristina pecchia — Google review
It's ok, but in my opinion it takes some of the authenticity of this beautiful place. Besides, you'll find lots of booths selling stuff that has nothing to do with the region or its past (e.g. Spanish beer or Swiss candy)
Spiaggia San Vito lo Capo is a popular beach among families due to its expansive sandy shoreline, although it can become crowded during the summer. Access to the beach is free, but sunbeds are available for a fee. Alternatively, visitors can sit on the sand with their own towel. The shallow waters allow for scenic views of palm trees and mountainous surroundings. Nearby attractions include Zingaro Reserve, known for its pristine beaches requiring some walking to reach them.
Oh,this stunning view and the color of the sea...
However, what is kind of irritating is Thai women offering massage each 15 mins when you want to rest. During couple of hours they will come to you MANY times.

We loved San Vito lo Capo, we came in October and it had such a chilled vibe, lots of international tourists but not many Americans which was great, the sand is like sugar and the water is crystal clear. It rained the few days we were there but it didn't take away from the beauty of the place.

It is a magnificent beach, very shallow for a while, so may be hard for swimming extensively, but also very very clean. There is even still space between the sunbed areas to bathe free of charge Would recommend a visit. Can get cold from the wind though. Only issue which is really annoying is the sellers of cheap plastic rubbish and massagers etc which regularly bother you, a shame to see.
Spiaggia di Màcari is a picturesque beach known for its crystal-clear and azure waters. It also boasts panoramic views of the distant mountains, making it an idyllic location to unwind and soak up the serene atmosphere. Beautiful place to swim and watch the sun go down. It is quiet and not crowded. In the middle of nowhere but close to San Vito Lo Capo where it is tricky to find parking. If my memory serves me right, parking is free here. Swimming shoes may be necessary.

The scenery here is magical. And there is room to lay down without being too crowded. The water is clear blue and it’s sand everywhere under your feet. It’s baby and child friendly. Many are doing snorkeling 🤿.
Why everyone go to San Vito beach Instead of here, is beyond me. This beach 🏖 is by Sicilian standard a 6 stars and San Vito maybe 4, then a 2 when you consider it’s a tourist trap.
There are chairs and umbrella to rent if desire or you can simply set your own little space.
The parking is free and there is a food truck serving good panini (4 €) and drinks (2.50
- 3.50 €) for a reasonable price.
You need to walk to the beach or take a little train that would bring you to it or the nearest beach (Cala Bove) a bit further.
If you need help, to get closer you can ask the gate keeper to open the gate for you so you can bring your car closer to disembark, and bring back your car to the parking lot, once done.

We had a fantastic hike here, you could either just do the lower coastal work from one end to the other and back which would be about 12ish kilometres in total or there is a path higher up the mountain for a change of scenery on the return route, the accent is about 400m to the higher path. The Temple of Segesta is an ancient Greek temple located in western Sicily and dating back to the 5th century BC. It is situated on a rural hillside and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. This well-preserved Doric temple, which dates from around 430 BC, is a must-see attraction for visitors to the area.
A great location overlooking the bay with views from cliffs, gorges, marble quarrys and olive farms. It is almost appropriate with the last decades represented with a viaduct from the motorway dividing up the scenery. If you can you should walk up to the theater at the top. The hike among flowers and with beautiful scenery is marvelous.
Owe Richard — Google review
This is certainly one of the most well kept preserve Greek temple in Europe.
You need to park in the free public parking and walk about 250 meters to the ticket boot. You can bring your car closer and let anyone get off and return park if needed.
The tickets are 8 € each, plus 2 € for the bus ride. The bus would bring you to the open theater. It’s at 1 km away, you can walk but at noon under 40C, I suggest you take the bus. For it you will need a mask 😷. It runs every 30 minutes.
To reach the temple you need to climb some stairs, about 250 meters away.
The theater is nice, but the view around is really what is worth your time.

This is one of the most pristine ancient Greek sites in Sicily and well worth the visit, if you're in the western half of the island (near Trapani, Erice, Marsala, Palermo for example). The temple itself is magnificent, and the rest of the ancient city is also available to visit with interpretive resources available in multiple languages. The site was used and re-used from the ancient Greek period through the Norman period, and so you can review over 1500 years of history here.
As a bonus, it's the temple featured in the last (2023) Indiana Jones film, although it's actually 3.5 hours from the cave in Siracusa that they connect with it in the movie. 😉
If you're going to see ancient Greek ruins in Agrigento, Siracusa, and other places, don't miss this one.

I would say the temple itself is a five star...well worth the hike up a 300 yard hill. We loved it..it will make a good Xmas card pic . Bring a tripod to get a good picture. We were sold on the amphitheater by the ticket sales guy... He said it was the best part of park..if you have been to an amphitheater before this one is small and probably not worth the bus ride up the hill, whatever you do don't walk it..it will take forever and is a steep climb..only for those with lots of time and are in extra great shape.. pay the extra for the bus up if you must go.

Do not know what to expect before we decided to go but it worth the travel, impressive structure with all facilities on site, gelato, coffee, alcohol and clean toilets. Nice place. Worth the price. I‘d plan it for colder days than 35+ degrees though, as heat and sun can be hard. There is a bus though which commutes between the different archeological sites which can be used for a small extra charge.

This and the nearby theatre occupy a lovely position with views of the surrounding mountains down to the coast. Surrounded by two deep gorges the lsite is exceptionally well defended.
To get the most from your visit I would recommend a good guide. There are toilets on site but at time of visit no other facilities whatsoever

Great place, the walk is a about 250 metres from the entrance to the temple and 1300 metres to the top, but there us a shuttle every 20-25 minutes. The ticket is 14.50 euros with the bus to the top. The coolest thing is that you can go in the temple and touch the stones .Amazing!
Grety Georgieva — Google review
The temple and theatre are so beautiful. Although they are stretched on distant areas from one another, it is worth going on foot to watch the views from all corners. There is also a shuttle bus for the less adventurous.
Charles Cassar — Google review
Worth the visit, best early in the morning or late afternoon. From the entrance to the amfitheater is a long walk up a steep path. For an additional fee you can take a bus. The temple itself has to be reached on foot, it is a climb but not a long one.

The temple is lovely and nice to see but the staff is very unprofessional and unfriendly. We accidentally bought wrong tickets - because we misunderstood what the tickets were for and they didn’t let us change the tickets. They said it is impossible when we all know a withdraw is alway possible to make.

So beautiful!!! Be good to plan/time when they have there events in evening. It’s a bit of a hike up so if you have elderly folk I would skip.

Perfectly proportioned temple with simple and clear architecture located in a stunning landscape in the middle of nowhere. Tranquil and peaceful. There are ruins of an amphitheatre and an antique settlement on a hill nearby which are covered by the entrance fee to the temple and can be reached either on foot (25-30 minutes steep uphill walk) or by a shuttle bus for a few extra €. I recommend the bus. Shuttle bus in winter every 30 minutes. I don't know if the schedule is the same in high season. One needs a car to get there. It's just a few km away from the highway to Trapani. Car park is free of charge. (Must be one of the few parking spots in the whole of Sicily without extra costs 😉)

An incredible site in Sicily. Definitely worth a visit. Consider bringing a picnic and definitely bring some water. I paid extra for the bus to the top and then walked back down which was a great way to experience the site.

This place is off the charts. I love Greek Temples and Theatres in general.
This was an experience that I will not forget.
I walked up the theatre hill. It was an effort. They have a shuttle bus.
Its a remarkable place.

The temple itself is super beautiful and spectacular. I would recommend it to anybody. The rest of the sites (theater, Agora/Forum, etc.) seemed quite dilapidated and unkempt. A fire has raged through here in summer of 2023 and many things are not repaired yet. You still pay €12 for the basic entrance.
I would recommend making the signs less verbose, the texts are way too convoluted and are not good at communicating the main facts. Also, would an electric bus make sense? It‘s only driving a very short distance up the hill and could probably recuperate most of the energy on the downhill return.

Karin gave us the most amazing information about the temple & theater. She is an amazing employee who is very proud of this very important archeological site. She represents the park so professionally & is one of the park’s best assets. Without Karin’s information & advice, we would not have enjoyed the park as much. We have been several times & never had learned as much as we did this time. Bravo Zulu to your wonderful employee for making our trip spectacular!

Visit it now to experience something from another age and another world. The wildfires swept through this area in late July and left the whole area burnt or scorched. The plants are blackened and brittle, the soil is dry and crusted, the air is heavy with the acrid smell of destruction. Yet despite this devastation (it appears even the restaurant did not survive) the temple continues to stand proudly on its plinth, as it has for millenia, a true survivor. The ticket office seemed untouched by the fire, and the staff are friendly and professional and spoke good English. There is a short flight of stairs to reach the temple, but these could be managed by most. It appears there is an access road that could be taken by those with mobility needs. The stairs give you an excellent approach to the temple, bringing you face to face with the main entrance, framed by the mountains beyond. Walk all the way around the temple if you can as the views are spectacular. You can walk within the.temple for even more immersion. The car park is gravelly and unshaded, but is safe and ample. There are a row of vending machines for snacks (although I expect they will reopen the restaurant before long as it did not appear to be badly damaged). I was only charged €5 as there was an event in the theatre. The scale of the temple is truly vast and it is well worth the visit.
The Segesta theatre, nestling in the side of Mt. Barbaro, today commands a spectacular view of the Gulf of Castellamare. First built in the late 4th to early 3rd century BCE, the theatre as it is seen today dates to the 2nd century BCE. Originally it had 29 rows of seats (the lower 21 survive) divided vertically into seven sections (kerkides) by access steps. The capacity would, therefore, have been around 4,000 spectators. The theatre is supported by a containing wall (analemmata) constructed of limestone blocks. The orchestra, scene building (once decorated with scenes connected to the pastoral god Pan), and entrances (paradoi) on either side have been lost. The theatre continues to host theatre events and Greek dramas throughout the summer months.

This is certainly one of the most well preserved and renovated open theater in Europe.

A beautifully preserved ancient theater. When a person imagines that centuries ago various comedies and dramas took place here, tears come to his eyes that what people can achieve when they come together and build something beautiful that will survive for centuries. I definitely recommend visiting this truly beautiful place and seeing it all, you will not be disappointed
Radovan Majer — Google review
The theatre is impressive and the views from there are beautiful as well. The trip up was too much for me, so I was happy to add the bus to my ticket and simply walk back down. The temple at the bottom, although large, is actually more impressive from above, looking down through the open roof.

Amazing !! Peaceful. Stunning views of the valley. Was greeted by a friendly dog which was super cute. Definitely a must see if going to Segesta

Worth paying to get the bus up even as hikers (on a non-hiking day), but be prepared to deal with guides trying to jump the queue with their busload of people. We didn't stand for it and made sure we got on, after all we had paid. Great views from the top, and the theatre is in good condition, along with other ruins.
Chris Bing — Google review
Aside from the theater, the ruins aren't very impressive here. The theatre was cool, and it was interesting to notice the acoustics (you could hear someone in the bottom from the top of the stairs without any yelling, somehow)
Overall it was okay, but not as "grand" as I expected. The views of the countryside were worth it though, regardless of the history
Jason Krein — Google review
Nice archeological site with great view to the surrounding area. It is still in use for local performances. But is was very windy and cold up there, jackets are recommended. Shuttle bus available.

A great Greek theatre preserved in a very good shape. It is worth the excursion, just make sure you pay the extra 2€ for the bus ride atop the hill. :)
Fiedler P?ter J?zsef — Google review
Very beautiful but extremely hot in the summer and there’s only one bus that takes you from the ticket area to the theatre and back so if it’s busy you’ll probably end up waiting for 15 minutes in the heat. There’s also a temple about 100m up a small hill from the ticket area that is amazing. They also have a small cafe with food, water, granite, and souvenirs. I recommend morning visits for Segesta.
Emma Thompson — Google review
Historical place and beautiful sight. Prices are fair. We did not go on a guided tour and we found that information about the site was lacking. Busses are provided for 2.5€ pr person to the top of temple and theater.
Casper Lorentzen — Google review
This is a top place to visit. We went in April and it was pretty quiet apart from loads of bus loads of teenagers who we somehow avoided. We got the tickets with the bus ride. Would absolutely recommend the walk looked like a ball ache. Would have been even worse in summer. The theater itself is a joy to look at but cast against the scenery it is a feast for the eyes. Honestly I'd visit just for the view. Well worth the trip.
Robin MacNeill — Google review
Super well preserved and extremely cool steep hike up the hill from the parking lot. There is also an optional shuttle bus up if you fear the walk.

Beautifull , adult entrance was 11€, you need good boots to walk up the hill, worth the trip .

Theater sits on an amazing spot with great views. Took the bus tour up €2.50.

Amazing views and historical place. The shuttle bus will take you here from parking - you will need to pay 8.50 for entrance including the bus but I would recommend it just for the views :)

Lido Zanzibar is a beautiful beachfront location where visitors can rent accommodations and enjoy the clean and well-maintained beach. The bar area is pleasant, but the prices for food and drinks are slightly high. However, the staff is friendly and helpful, and overall the facilities are well-equipped. Visitors have returned multiple times to enjoy their time at Lido Zanzibar.
Clean territory, very well equipped, friendly and helpful staff, nice bar area, very reasonable prices. First visited yesterday, returned today and will come back again tomorrow.

My family (with 2 small kids 1,5 and 4 years old) was there today at 10am. There was a longer queue waiting to buy a spot with sun loungers and parasol, so I stood there as well thinking if I stand the queue I will maybe get a spot as well, anywhere, even at the back lines. I understood it was Sunday and very crowded on the beach, but I was here for the first time and based on various google and tripadvisor recommendations I thought I could give my family also a nice experience, where the kids could eat normal restaurant food and enjoy the beach.
But after standing there almost 30 minutes and watching how local Italians can get free spots from the owner and they did not have any reservation, just paid in front of me directly to the owner, finally the owner told me that he suddenly has no free spot for me.
When I asked him how is it possible that he just gave spots to other Italian people before me, he just looked down and said sorry I'm full. He was afraid to even look into my eyes. I was there probably the only english speaking person at that moment and I also said to him that I'm here with 2 small kids, he just said sorry I have nothing for you.
I got angry and I left, as I didn't know and also how could I have assumed that this is the way how such a recommended place will behave and welcome any tourists on a Sunday morning.
Huge disappointment and discrimination. I recommend to all tourists to check in advance which time and day are foreign tourists also welcome at this place or try to book a spot online (maybe that works - or maybe not based on the reviews I've read now on google).

Nice place to stay at the beach. You can rent places at the beach but you have to pick drinks an other stuff at the bar. The beach was nice an clean. The prices are a bit high (drinks and food) so just four stars. Everything else was fine we will come back but please lower your beach prices.

First of all, the pizza is really good indead..but you (might) get treated in a different way, if you are a foreign tourist. I definitely received my pizza order later than other (pizza) orders from italian guest even though I ordered much earlier than them. The beach itself is nice but I will definitely choose another location over there..

Dreadful food n service. First time in my lifetime I didn't finish a meal... and I ordered a pizza.
- Pizza was just burnt dry bread with salad thrown on top. Asked for chilli, didn't get it
-The waiter didn't come over to ask how we were or even a smile
- No bread or olive oil like ever other restaurant in Italy
- 3 TVs blasting out football
- Most expensive meal so far in Italy
- No apology given despite nothing eaten and feedback given
- Service charge still taken
- No house wine despite advertised
My girlfriend's pasta. ...was the same.
Avoid this place.

So good place - place as art and place with plenty of history. Respect. Car park available. Don’t miss the town - Poggiorealle - few km away. Town who was destroyed by earthquake. Both worth to visit. Keep safe - as some part of the roads are damaged - hardly to pass with normal car. Perfect for 4x4

This is a 20 acre art project memorializing a town that was wiped out by the 1968 earthquake. It was designed by Alberto Burri and is made up of huge concrete slabs on the footprint of the town. It is free to visit.

Nice to visit, interested to see that amount of concrete transformed in a “sculpture”. Location is easy to find, but in the middle of nowhere along the road. You will find space to park by the road. You will see farming’s around and a nice view. There’s no sign explaining the place, you find this kinda information online only.

Was this the best experience in Sicily? From a point of Land Art, certainly! Very impressive structure in the middle of nowhere. Reminds you of the village that was previously standing here. No guides or information, so better read up on it before you go. Also, you absolutely need a car to go there, no public transport. But all this adds to its harsh charm.🤩
Jakob Fix — Google review
Worth it!!! We were on a time crunch, but you should plan to spend 30 mins min. Parking in the large parking lot wasnt necessary...there was a road pull off parking area where Google directed us that had ample space for the off season.

This land art installation is one of a kind, if you listen to the right podcast and information on this installation you will understand what's the real meaning of it. The intention is so emotional and is a unique experience to discover this Cretto after travelling to the road of the opd town destroyed by the earthquake. Enjoy the view and all the emotions that this site will give you.

Town ravaged by earthquake in 1968, torn down and replaced with a concrete monument indicating buildings and streets. Not much to do or see here, but it is a good place for pictures.

an unusual Art Installation whereby the original street plan of Gibellina and building remains have been overlaid in a concrete cast. It's odd to walk around in an almost clinical environment whiler forgetting that where you were walking was once a real village with real people.

Poggioreale is a ghost town and comune in the province of Trapani, western Sicily, southern Italy, located in the Belice valley. The Economy was mostly based on agriculture and fruit cultivation.

Nestled within a botanical garden, Bioparco di Sicilia offers more than just your typical zoo experience. With a focus on conservation and education, the park is home to over 57 species including chimpanzees, lemurs, zebras, meerkats, Sicilian grey donkeys and llamas. Adding to the excitement is the dinosaur park featuring life-sized models of prehistoric creatures like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops.
A very nice place, which looks unpleasant from the beginning, but right after the start of the walk you will discover a very beautiful bio-park. It's not an ordinary traditional zoo but such a nice garden full of animals. There will be roosters, wild rabbits and lizards running around.
In the refreshment area you will find a very nice modern bar, a restaurant and a gift shop connected with a toy shop. The prices are not expensive at all. The bar is open until 18:00, the restaurant until 15:00 and the toy/gift shop also until 18:00. There are very nice staff here, with whom you can easily communicate in English.
There are quite a lot of animals here and you can even pet some of them. At the end of the zoo you will also find a huge garden with various flowers, plants, trees and herbs.
I fully recommend this place also for families with children. There are lots of educational things to do, attractions and also a few mini playgrounds.
There are plenty of places to sit everywhere and Uricte will have somewhere to relax.
I definitely recommend visiting this place when you visit Sicily. Tickets cost 8,50€ for an adult and 6€ for a child.
!WARNING!
Bring mosquito repellent because they are really annoying and aggressive.

I was impressed by the areas for the animals and was glad to notice that there was also a section for dinosaurus statues. My 5-year-old son was particularly interested in this area. The only disadvantage is that the park only has one small cafe where you can only buy chips, coffee and ice cream
anna iivarinen — Google review
It’s a zoo that kids will no doubt enjoy! We visited on a grey day which wasn’t good enough for the beach.
I would have given a higher score if not for a couple of points:
1) the zoo car park is next to the entrance but you have to walk back out onto the road (no path) in order to access it. If you’ve witnessed how Italians drive this was quite unnerving, especially with a child in tow. Just knock a whole in the wall 🙏
2) the zoo is long and narrow so when you reach the end you have the long walk back along the way you came. And in the middle we almost turned around as it looked like we had reached the end. Had we not checked satellite imagery / gps we would have stopped short.
3) the chimpanzees and their enclosure looked a bit sad. Our closest cousins deserve better.
4) oh and our first impression once we were in was the dinosaur land which was in serious neglect, including the path coming to a dead end.
But like I said, the kids would probably enjoy it.
Note: not wheelchair friendly imo.
Ian Stenning — Google review
Is a nice concept, but is neglected. From the entrance it looks neglected, it needs a better promotion and a strategy of remodelling and publicity. The animals saved the view which is always interesting to admire and get to know.

Cute little place with well treated animals. Price was decent and small kids had free entry. Easy to go with strollers and many picnic areas. Morning was great time to visit(before 12 pm) because after that it's way too hot.
Alessia — Google review
Expensive for what it is and what it offers. Most of the dinosaur area was closed off without anyone informing us at the ticket booth or otherwise. Not a lot of animals to see and you could barely see the animals unless you went into the shrubs. The place had potential but lacks care which is a pity.

What a beautiful place! We found this gem wandering around in Carini village, up the hill. There was a sagra with traditional food and candies, and the castle was open from 9pm to midnight. Check their website as they have different evening opening every month ;) The castle is HUGE and all the terraces were open to the public as well as many rooms; quite an experience! Highly recommended if you are around the Carini area!

The castle sits on privileged location, which guarantees amazing views from it's upper areas. The tragic story regarding the Baroness of Carini's demise just adds to the experience. I didn't quite like the renovated areas as it's too conflicting with the original walls and feel of the castle.

I was really impressed with this castle! Quite a bit of it has been restored and they're working on the rest. In addition to the castle itself, many of the rooms house a Marionette Museum. They're beautiful. This is a must see and very much worth the 3,50€ entrance fee.
