Amazing experience!! Highly recommendable, especially the chasing auroras tours. The guides know where to find them and will take you to amazing locations. I stayed 4 nights and saw them 3 times. The guides are also super friendly and helpful. You can also get a camera as part of the tour and they will show you how to take the pictures yourself. It was definitely an unforgettable adventure. I also took the dog sledging tour with them. The dogs are super cute and friendly. And in almost all tours there is a hot beverage included in a tipple.

We were on a 5 days adventure with Lights Over Lapland. We were able to experience amazing and scary Arctic circle, see parts of Sweden, Norway, wildlife and most important auroras! We were guided by an amazing and experienced Italian, named Claudio. He took care of our daily trips, was there to advise us what to do, what to eat and most important, take us to places where we can see Auroras.

We joined for the Morning Hike in Abisko National Park on 1 Dec. Definitely suitable for all fitness levels; it was an easy walk on trails at a good pace.
Our guide, Mike, was really informative about the area and what to take note of when in the national park. He would also regularly check in on us to make sure we did ok. He was also ever-ready to help with taking photos, and patient in repeating his explanations to those in the group who may be a little farther behind and could not hear.
Would highly recommend!

Fantastic! We had a great time! Sara was our everything guide - friendly, knowledgeable and skilled in the outdoors and Aurora hunting. A cheerful fire kept our fingers and spirits warm for a winter cookout. The Arctic environment is something special to experience! Things we did: Aurora watching, trail hiking through a winter wonderland of snow, Snowmobile to an Aurora watching location, dog sledding.

We love the experience of Northern Lights in Abisko. The guide - Oscar - is very good in their job. He was fantastic with everybody, very good knowledge about the northern light phenomenon and always friendly and helpful.
We like it very much and for us it was a memorable experience.

My third visit to Abisko and the trip did not disappoint. Led by our experienced guide, Chris, there was something to photograph every night. Chris was helpful, providing guidance to those unfamiliar with using a dslr, informative, pointed out great spots to shoot from, and kept us up to date on potential aurora activity. Lodging was good, food was great, the group of 8 was a good size. The clothing provided by Lights over Lapland keeps you warm. The national park was great to wander around during the day. I would recommend Lights over Lapland to anyone with auroras on their bucket list no matter what their ability is with a camera. Overall, a great experience!

The best decision my family and I made was to go with the Lights Over Lapland team when we wanted to see auroras. We interacted with Rachel, Chad, Lotta and Claudio (who was our guide for 4 days!). In every one of the interactions, we found the Lights Over Lapland team to be well prepared, kind, thoughtful and just fun to work with. Consider:
- We were flying from Bangalore to Stockholm to Kiruna and then Abisko
- We have a 6-year old and a 65+ year old senior citizen (my Mum!) on the trip
- We were visiting the Arctic for the first time
In spite of the above, the trip resulted in the memories of a lifetime for us. I'd like to specifically call out Claudio, whom we hung out with for 4 days. Claudio was very knowledgeable, tried to help us with everyone of our asks (for example, the need for warmer gloves, specific food, etc), took us around Abisko and honestly, is just a good all round human being. During our time in Abisko, we went out to see the auroras, hiked in the National Park and drove down to see the fjords in Norway.
Do two things if you're interested in coming to the Arctic:
1. Please don't come only for the auroras. The place by itself is insanely beautiful and there's plenty to do and just be
2. Go with Lights Over Lapland and choose the 4-night package

I absolutely enjoyed joining The Ultimate Aurora Photo Adventure with our guide Michelle! Michelle did a fantastic job in helping us set up the cameras, finding good motives and feeling well as a group. In front of the Sami camp fire we got to know a lot of details about the Northern Lights and had the obligatory warm Lingonberry Juice. All in all, I had a fantastic time and will bring some nice pictures back home. I can highly recommend this activity and a huge shout out to Michelle again!

Incredible experience! We did the tour with Sara B. The Arctic Circle is no joke and Sara went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable in every possible way. During the long stretches of aurora chasing, she kept us warm by making fires and lingonberry juice, took professional-grade photos, and shared her vast knowledge of the landscape. Definitely choose Lights over Lapland and highly recommend doing the tour with Sara!

Once in a lifetime experience, truly unique ! Dec.21
One of our best trips ever ! Should we put it in our top 5 ? It was so unique we cannot rank our experience in Abisko National Park. And our wonderful guide Sara of Lights over Lapland made it happen ! Wether the hunt for the northern lights with the professional cameras we could borrow, the dogsled tour, icefishing with cool Oscar and husky Scout, the moose safari and our cosy Swedish house, it was all very special, exciting, very well organised (compliments to the whole team), exciting, energizing and most of all inspiring. Truly unique ! A bucket list number one !

We did a 5 day private-tour with Chris, and I could not imagine a better guide. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun to hang out with. During the trip we saw brilliant aurora on multiple nights, and shot a treasure trove of pictures. We also got some incredible up-close portraits of reindeer and moose and sprawling mountain and frozen lake landscapes. The food provided was also delicious, from local meatballs and cloudberry/lingonberry jam to dumplings and chocolate cake that is to die for.
Be prepared to layer up! They provide boots and coveralls, but we got two nights of -30C (-22F), and I was thankful to have 5 top layers and 3 pairs of wool socks (all at once) on those days. There was always a hut or teepee to cozy up inside, but being able to stay out in the cold and not miss the aurora is well worth bundling up.
If you have the option of bringing a camera with a telephoto lens, I would also recommend bringing it. The camera and lens provided is great for aurora and landscapes, but a telephoto is more ideal for shooting the wildlife and I found it helpful to have during the daytime.
Overall, if I could give Lights Over Lapland a 100/10 I would. A truly well put-together experience.

Our group had a wonderful time at Abisko with our guide Oliver who was an excellent photographer and a fount of knowledge about the nature of the area. We enjoyed meeting the others in our group as well. The hotel was comfortable and the food was adequate. There were lots of nice nooks to escape to all over the hotel to read your book or have a visit. We were able to photograph the northern lights with the help of our guide and it was amazing to see his enthusiasm for capturing them was still alive even though we were the last group of the season. I came home with a bunch of aurora photos to remember the experience. All in all the trip of a lifetime, a dream come true. Thank you, Lights Over Lapland!

4 days in the Arctic circle chasing Aurora had been planned for 18 months. Now on arrival the autumnal weather we had expected was very much more winter wonderland than autumnal. This had draw backs because snow needs clouds and we wanted a clear sky. So after a night spent in the ice hotel in Kiruna ( warm room, we were not that brave) all arranged by lights over Lapland, we were contacted on WhatsApp by Sara our guide and invited to join a WhatsApp group to ensure we all knew what was going on. At 2pm Sara arrived to drive us through “heavy snow”. (I live in Perth Australia, where snow on our highest peak is newsworthy) so the snow might have been considered “lite” locally. Sara suggested that our visit to the Sami village was best done before leaving for Abisko and on realisation of its location we all agreed, and had a great time learning and patting reluctant reindeer and baking flat bread. We also popped into the church next door for further photo opportunities. Then onto the 1.5 hour drive north through said snow, on arrival to our accommodation, we were travelling as two couples and were surprised at one room with a double bed one with twin singles, we made the best of this with singles pulled together ( it was too late before we mentioned this to Sara, who explained she could get us a double mattress if we wanted, note to other visitors, your guide can only fix things they know about). We were talked through our pantry and what was good for our gluten intolerant guest, and our first night Aurora hunting was planned to start after a quick evening meal.
Sara arrived shortly after an announcement from WhatsApp and headed off in search of clear sky’s, it is important to bring your passport as Abisko is close to Norway and it’s probable that you will need to cross borders. We encountered lots of snow and no clear sky’s but with Sara’s help got a few group photos and realised later that behind the clouds Aurora were dancing.
Our first 3 days had our individual tailored adventures put on for us by Sara but stubbornly cloudy sky’s but on our 4th day
Once again the morning had us walking through stunning landscapes with the occasional sighting of wild reindeer.
Sara let us know that the evenings weather was not looking promising and as such we would head to Narvik bay in Norway for a, fire, cooked evening meal and an evening of fun company, even if the weather and Aurora were not going to deliver. So after a road trip with lots of singing we arrived, set up our cameras and sat down to Sara’s excellent cooking. After a while Sara suggested that as the cloud was clearing we should check our cameras and a small amount of Aurora could be seen on our images. The Aurora rose and fell as the clouds slowly cleared to an almost cloudless sky and over the next 5 hours the Aurora put on a slowly increasing show from only visible to the camera to clearly visible with the naked eye to eventually, so good we stopped taking photos and just marvelled at the spectacle. We arrived back at the accommodation, about 3am too elated to sleep, even with our airport pickup scheduled for 6 hours time. Sara had delivered what even she had admitted was an unlikely, spectacular Aurora experience. Which our cameras had great evidence of with my biggest issue, being able to choose from so many great images.
So after my rather long review, would I recommend Lights over Lapland, for Aurora tours, most certainly and we are already talking about when we can do it again.

High expectations for this vacation were exceeded. Not enough superlatives. Our guide, Sara B was amazing and she went the extra mile at every turn to make our stay in Abisko special. We knew that the aurora can't be guaranteed because it's a natural phenomena, but Sara did her very best to give us the best of chances and we also had a lot of laughs along the way - not to mention success. Daytime scenery should not be overlooked, and thanks to Oliver who helped us find and photograph mountain hare.

We had a fantastic time on both of the tours we booked with Lights over Lapland. We went out with Joey for an Aurora chase on one night and with Alex and Sarah for the photography adventure the next. All three guides were knowledgeable and passionate and they made sure we had a great time and got any pictures we wanted. It helps that we were successful both nights in catching the Aurora, but I’m confident we would’ve been happy with the tours and the service provided even if we hadnt caught the lights.

I went on Aurora Chase with Lights Over Lapland with Joey (guide) and Matts (driver). The whole experience was fun and wonderful. Joey was funny and professional. She took the whole time photographing anyone who wanted to be in the picture. I now have the best pictures of me and my daughter thanks to Joey. She was so skillful at finding the northern lights and professional. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Abisko!

Exceptional "5D4N Private Aurora Escape"
My family and I had the pleasure of embarking on a 5-day, 4-night private adventure with Claudio as our guide, and the experience exceeded all expectations.
Claudio's meticulous attention to detail stood out throughout the entire journey. From the moment we alighted from the plane, he took exceptional care of us, ensuring every aspect of our adventure was tailored to perfection. His commitment to making our experience unforgettable truly made the trip exceptional.
Claudio's extensive knowledge of the landscape was really impressive. His detailed explanations whenever we had questions enriched our understanding of the surroundings, making the adventure not only visually stunning but intellectually engaging. It was evident that Claudio was a passionate expert dedicated to sharing the beauty and secrets of Abisko (and its surrounding regions).
One of the highlights of our trip was the awe-inspiring auroras, and Claudio took us to numerous breathtaking locations to witness this natural wonder. His ability to find the perfect spots added a magical touch to the experience, making each aurora display a unique and memorable spectacle.
What set this adventure apart was the bespoke feel of the entire trip. The personalized approach and thoughtful planning ensured that every moment was tailored to our preferences, creating a one-of-a-kind journey that will forever be etched in our memories.
Highly recommended!

What an awesome experience!!! We had the best guide "Sara" who worked really well with our group. She was just awesome to hang out with as well as keeping us in the right locations each night for an amazing light shows and to get great photos. The Lights over Lapland experience will always be one of my fondest memories. Sara also provided some great photos of her own that she shared. She did a great job of coordinating all of our activities, meals, transportation, and just making this a fun adventure. If you want to see the Northern Lights and have a great trip, this is the team to do it with, ask for Sara as your guide!!!

Lights Over Lapland had been a great operator for our adventure in Abisko. From enquiry to booking to confirmation and to the time when we were at Abisko itself - they had been extremely helpful and informative. What really works for us is that they were very responsive to our questions during enquiry and booking phases. This made it much easier for us especially we are 8hours apart. The tours were fun and we had really good guides! Special mention to Ben, Miquel and Julian! They were not just guides, they endeavoured to give us the experience of Abisko - even for some nights we did not see the lights. But they kept us engaged and told us so many inspiring stories. These guides made a difference to our experience in Abisko. Additionally Lights of Lapland made booking really easy and when we were there - they never cease to still support and helped us with settling in. Surely we will be back and would love to be booking through Lights Over Lapland again!I’m

Abisko morning hike and Ultimate Northern Lights Photography tour - 1 Dec
We booked two tours with Lights over Lapland and loved them both!
We booked the morning hike in Abisko National Park and our guide was Mike. The hike itself was perfect, the route was beautiful and was just the right level of difficulty. Mike was a wonderful guide, made us feel like we were on a walk with a bunch of friends than a guided hike! He was very friendly, explained a lot of interesting facts and was very helpful with pictures! He was also conscious of everyone on the tour and helped where needed
We did the ultimate northern lights photography tour with Sarah and Julian and this too was a wonderful experience . Ofcourse we were lucky with the Northern Lights itself but loved the setting of the tour itself. We were taken to an isolated place with a cosy teepee and Sarah and Julian were very helpful in the journey up and down. Most importantly they were very helpful to everyone guiding us with our cameras, my husband brought our new camera along but still they helped with this as well which I thought was very nice of them. They made the experience enjoyable and a bit more than the northern lights itself and also about the company and the experience.
Would highly recommend lights over Lapland and a special shout out to Mike, Sarah and Julian
The Aurora Sky Station is a popular tourist destination located across the highway from the STF Turiststation. It can be accessed by a chairlift that takes visitors up to Mt Nuolja, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Atop the mountain, there is a Panorama Cafe serving delicious food and drinks, while in summer, it's an excellent spot for viewing the midnight sun during late hours. During winter months, it's also possible to witness Northern Lights here.
The best way to see and experience the northern lights in northern Sweden.
Abisko is geographically located behind a mountain which protects it from bad weather and in turn produces fantastic opportunities to see the northern lights.
Visit the sky station to have an even more surreal experience of the lights from over 900m above sea level.
I recommend the dinner beforehand as you not only experience a great feed but also get access to the mountain ~2hrs before the other guests which makes the experience that much more special.

Because of a storm, we didn't go to the sky station. But our guide, Markus, gave our little group nevertheless a wonderfull experience. A nice presentation about the northern lights and a adventurous hike made our evening.

Absolutely breathtaking views at the top. Takes around 20 minutes to go up where there are hiking trails which take you up higher. Definitely a must visit!

Highly recommend! I think this is the best place to see the night sky. If there is Aurora, you can't miss it from here. The place has almost no light pollution. The chair lift would be another unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

Nice experience taking chairlift up to the station at Mt Nuolja. Took around 30mins. No sighting of the northern lights though. Kudos to the guide for clear explanation of lights and its myths. We remained at the station and chose not to hike further up due to cold weather (-18c). A good alternative is to go up spiraling case to top of building.
Kevin Yeoh — Google review
Amazing Place, must visit. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, very good cafe at the top. Best part was the chair lift ride in the dark.
Shifaaz Ebrahim — Google review
This sadly was disappointing it was fully booked, we travelled up at 9.30pm with a coach of other tourists, now I’m sure during the day when skiers are going up the chair lift is run at a constant speed, sadly the coach of mixed aged tourists, meant that each pair getting on required the lift to stop to allow this. So it was like a ferris wheel ride, 45 minutes up and 30 minutes down. Not great at -20c. The viewing platform had dinner guests who had finished meals but with no northern lights outside refused to move to allow our tour guide to give his talk on the lights. So another hour was wasted. The views are fantastic with a star and moon lit night, no northern lights which are the lottery but expect a slow journey up and down.
Terry Davis — Google review
Long chairlift (with great staff) and small cafe up the mountain. Beautiful place to see the night sky as so clear. If you are lucky you'll have the Northern lights too. One star off for steep climb out onto slopes, steps/rail would be good and the really basic toilet facilities.
Ali Dodd — Google review
I went to top of hill to watch northern Lights and status that this is best place to see them did not disappoint. It was was just amazing full sky just lit up. Did not need to wait long. I waited till guided hill walk which was very nice and guide was very knowledgeable. In in station there was presentation and you can get some hot drinks. I totally recommend this place for northern light watching.
Martins Freidenfelds — Google review
A lovely, if damp, ride up and down to the small, but cozy warm welcoming cafe. Enjoyed a tasty tomato soup and bread, followed by tea and cake. All unhurried, laid back, almost rustic. A decent way to while away an hour or two with a view.
Jools — Google review
We had a cloudy night and a huge group that went up, but our guide encouraged those of us that were willing to go on a short hike away from the station. From there, our guide shared information and stories about the town of Abisko and the national park, the Aurora, and the wildlife. We were able to see the milky way along with the Aurora and it was a truly magical time! The ride up made me anxious because it was slow and so dark, so be prepared for that if you think it could be a problem. I’d recommend having a headlamp with you. Every guest on the night visit is required to wear a pair of overalls to keep you warm, but I’d also recommend a warm face covering, a hat, and nice gloves to stay warm up top!

20 minutes up 900ft to the Café, it's a very peaceful ride, and the view of course is just breathtaking. If you're not going up there to ski, you can relax and watch people weaving through the blanket of snow. The staff are lovely. The Café experience is a little unique. I highly recommend. It's worth the trek 🏔😌

I visited the sky station in December 2021. Sadly, it was cloudy that day. Even after waiting till almost 1 am, I didn't get the chance to see the dancing lights. The sky cleared up for a moment, thus got a glimpse of the green light.
The most amazing part of the trip was definitely taking the chairlift through the dark to the top of the mountain. The tour guide showed the way from the STF to the base of the station, where everyone was given a warm overall and a pair of boots. It gets extremely cold while going up the mountain on the open chairlift. The sky station is quite cozy and nicely decorated. There is a cafe inside. The tour included a presentation about aurora.
A lifetime experience indeed.

Take the open chair ride to the mountain and then sat down at the open view deck and enjoy/ relax
We walked down to Aurora sky station from Abisko guest house. It was approx 4 Km trail and you can view a canyon during the journey
Hiking & winter sports, plus Northern Lights viewings in a wild national park with a visitor centre.
One of the oldest and most beautiful national parks in Sweden. Make sure you stay long enough to explore the 6 hiking trails this park has to offer and hopefully enjoy northern lights in the evenings, depending on the season.

Very beautifully planned trails for hiking. Once you visit the STF tourist center reception they explain the route with a detailed map and markers for the different trails and viewpoints. And best part are the markers along the way inside the forest too. Well maintained and beautiful! I went in February so it was mostly snow but the frozen canyons and waterfall with some running streams was breathtaking to see. If you are at Abisko you should visit here.

Wonderful national park in the north of Sweden. We spend one full day hiking inside it in winter, and I will for sure come back in summer to do the Kungsledden because I suppose that the landscape are beautiful during blue sunny sky !
Also, good spot to see northem lights, I wasn't in the good season to see it but we saw some.

I been here in winter for the northern lights. It was amazing experience. I also did a small walk in the famous kungsleden trial. Hope I will get back here in summer to do the full version of Kungsleden. But one of the well preserved national parks in Sweden for those who loves the nature in its best:)
JISMON JOSEPH — Google review
Beautifully diverse nationale park in a even greater mountain range. Several well equipped mountain huts are located in and outside the park. The kungsleden trail goes through the main valley but several more impressive and diverse valleys are also very accessible to any hikers or skiërs. The vistas and nallo valley are exceptionally beautiful.
Camping inside the park is not allowed except for the hut area. Otherwise outside the park camping is free for all.
Best access from abisko tourist station reachable by car and railway.
Christiaan Huigens — Google review
Beware of high prices of sleeping in the park (350 SEK / person in a *tent*) => one has to go approx 3 km away from the park to find a good place to camp and hike the whole park in one day. Otherwise a great place if visited in a good weather.

We could see northern lights two nights in a row. Its a great place to chill out. The only problem is to find a restaurant and supermarket.

Amazingly beautiful.
Make sure to first go to the tourist information point to get a map of the tracks! We didn't do it and almost missed the main attraction, the creek 😅
It is better to go by car so you can stay for the night, since the last train to go back to Kiruna is before 17hs.
It is a great place to see the northern lights, so if you don't rent a car, i think is worth spend one night in the hotel infront of the park!

It’s one of the most important Swedish national parks, an astonishing place to see. It’s one of the few places in Europe which is still virtually untouched by man, hosting a spectacular display of nature, with amazing views of Torneträsk (the lake), of various glaciers, and with a forest rich in birch trees, berries, and mushrooms. It’s also one of the best places in the world to see the Northern lights, due to the latitude and local climate.
The trails are kept in great condition, information is readily available both along the trail and in the visitor center in the STF Turiststation.
The Aurora Borealis Observatory is a luxurious apartment hotel that provides stunning views of the Northern Lights. It is an ideal option for those who wish to witness this natural phenomenon in Senja. The hotel has been specifically designed to facilitate observing the Aurora, with spacious rooms featuring large windows. Additionally, guests can enjoy free food delivery and avail themselves of an area shuttle service.
We stayed for 6 nights. The location is stunning. The views of the mountains and the Northern Lights are out of this world. The apartment was luxurious and extremely comfortable. The jacuzzi on the deck was brilliant. Breakfast was delicious and the Fjosn restaurant offers a majestic set menu dining experience.
Darren, the host, was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. He even texted us to let us know the Aurora was visible and he helped us book some amazing experiences. It was our first time here and we are already making plans to come again next year.

Everything on their website & social media is a lie. After arriving to our glass hut to discover there was no running water from the tap so no drinking water (wasn’t told we would need to buy bottled water) and no hand washing facilities, the whole hut stank of urine as the toilet still had the previous occupants waste in. Completely unsanitary accommodation. After complaining to reception and being told we had to wait until morning to speak to a manger, we were moved to an executive suite which they have now taken the money for after we have returned to the UK and when emailed to ask why they have taken more money they have replied saying it for the upgrade we were given!! Shocking.
The website states skies, toboggans, snow shoes, ice fishing is all available included in the price. It isn’t even available at all. There is only fine dining available. No other food is available and the nearest supermarket is 1.5 hours walk away.
The website also states they offer Aurora alerts so you don’t miss the northern lights. They don’t offer this after 11pm so not very helpful when the lights are very often between 11pm-5am and the accommodation that says faces the northern lights actually faces east not north so you are unable to see them from the inside.
Everything about this place is a scam. A lie. An illusion. Avoid at all costs.
Katie Webb-Jones — Google review
The place is a total disappointment and it’s hugely overpriced given the standard they offer. Only one widow can be opened (and only a tiny bit!) and there’s no AC, so on a sunny day it’s very hot and stuffy inside. Their website shows a selection of luxury apartments but in fact, the place has nothing to do with luxury. The furniture, faucets and shower are of extremely low quality, and so is the shampoo & shower gel. Breakfast is the worst we’ve had in Norway (and we've spent six weeks road tripping through the country and staying in many different places) - low quality products, very limited selection, dry scrambled eggs, and very dry and spongy bread (we had a much better breakfast in a hostel!). The check out time is 10, even though the breakfast is served from 9 to 11… It is definitely a place to avoid!!!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!
I wish I read the reviews on google before I booked this place based on the fake insta world. Unfortunately, I'd to experience it myself at the cost of $800. We reached the hut at night around 9pm and it took us a while to settle in because it is so tiny. There were no proper instructions provided for the hut and apparantly the door does not lock. Still we figure everything out in freezing temperature and ended up noticing it is not getting any warm in there. We waited whilst there was snowfall on the outside. We called the reception for help as we started shivering badly even with the jackets and blankets on. Believe it or not, we waited till 1am in the morning and it didn't heat up even the slightest. We had to pack up everything and leave to another apartment which we paid for the next night. We were told next morning that the manager will help us with the refund but he is not available right now. We were asked to send him an email for our problems and to our surprises the manager denied to refund us at all despite we did not stay in the hut at all. I have never been part of a bigger fraud than this. This resort has no basic hotel ethics and is charging for a luxurious stay. Please please book anything else but not this.

I would like to begin by congratulating the resort’s marketing team for an amazing job, we would not have booked if it wasn’t for the excellent marketing and website. The room we took was the luxury apartment and the rooms are 5 star standards with amazing views, shame we came in december so daylight hours were limited. As for the staff, Petr, Anastasia and Sam were genuine, helpful and happy to assist us. It wasn’t so with another 2 we dealt with, its like the luck of the draw when dealing with the staff. We followed the instructions on the website regarding notification of arrival, duely sent the email and took the liberty of calling when the bus from Bardufoss begun the journey to Finsness. Yet the pick up arrived 30mins after our arrival which left us standing in -15 degrees by the roadside, and that was after we called on arrival and the staff was still at the resort. We enjoyed the breakfast, although for the money you pay I expected better. The room amenities was modern and good, we were given room LUX1 👍. Took one tour from the resort, the national park tour and our guide Anastasia was knowledgable and made the tour enjoyable. We rented a car after that as the hotel tour prices made it more sense to rent a car and drive around Senja Island ourselves, we do advise anyone who is thinking of staying here to clarify with the resort about any possible hidden costs as they wanted to charge us for an extra bath towel. We thought it was a joke initially only to realise it wasn’t, in summary come for the room and liberty of seeing the northern lights without having to drive out aurora hunting. Don’t expect service levels commensurate to the rates from some of the staff, in hindsight there are many other much cheaper holiday home options which give you the same experience in terms of the views.

Scammer & Swindler!!!
Avoid at all costs!! This is costing us a lot!!!
We had booked the Old Farm House in Dec 2023 for 4 nights stay in Sep 2024 and paid up the full amount of KR26,400 with the contract of a FULL REFUND if cancellation is more than 1 month before commencement of stay. However, when we wrote in to cancel the booking in mid Feb 2024, with constant weekly reminders since, we had heard absolutely nothing at all from the Aurora Borealis Observatory!
NOT A SINGLE REPLY at all, not even to acknowledge they have received our notification of cancellation! Now it is already past mid Apr and all we get is total complete silence from them!!! It looks like nobody is working there or even present for the past 2 months (at least!), so beware of this place!!!
Do NOT believe what you see on their website! We have noticed that it has been upgraded since last Dec, looking even more beautiful and professional now. They have also changed the cancellation policy of getting full refund from 1 month prior to commencement of stay (our agreement last year) to 2 months (this year). Another fishy aspect of this place is that the email handling the receival of money is different from the email we have to write in to cancel our booking. When we wrote in to the former, it totally rejected our correspondence!
Due to this very expensive lesson, in the future, we will not be booking with any accommodations promising full refunds if payment is upfront. Furthermore, as we plan to see the Northern Lights end of the year, we will definitely NOT go to Norway to catch them. We will look at Iceland or Finland or Sweden or Alaska.
This is to warn all not to fall into the trap of Aurora Borealis Observatory! Avoid at all costs!!

They are not sympathetic. I made the booking and paid for the entire stay. When time was approaching, I asked for change of date. It was 3 days before my departure. But they replied and rejected my request on the last day before my departure. And i lost all my money. Yes, they didn't want to refund part of my money. I didn't ask for a full refund though. But i just lost it. So guys, be careful when you do your booking.

What am awesome experience here! Highly recommend! We have only been here two nights and have been fortunate enough to see the northern lights each night.
Edit: I took one star away.
- The hospitality needs some work. They mopped the floor DURING breakfast hours, I slipped on the floor and the lady who mopped just laughed at me (I let her have it after that). This is what ultimately prompted me to update the review.
- they do not clean your room. We were there for 8 days, very unexpected, but not too huge of a deal.
- we had a tour booked with a local, and it was just us. One of the ladies that works there had a day off and joined our tour at the last minute. She totally took it over and ruined it for us.
- there was a teacher conference there for a couple of days. They completely took the place over, couldn’t get breakfast, we got kicked out of the restaurant area. It was weird being a guest there for several days and then being pushed aside for them, like we didn’t matter. The staff was visibly and verbally frustrated, and very overwhelmed.

WARNING!! This company took my money for a reservation and has not refunded me even though I canceled three months in advance. They also won't respond to my emails requesting the refund or to at least tell me when to expect it. So I'm assuming they will not be following their policy and will not be returning it. It has been a month since I canceled. My reservation was for the end of September and I canceled the end of June. Their policy on their website states that if you cancel greater than one month you get a full refund. They've ignored my attempts to reconcile this privately. I have no choice but to attempt to contact the authorities in Norway if I can. I figured I would warn others so they didn't have the same issue. This is why people book with big companies instead of directly with the establishment. They have the big companies to deal with this issue. So sad.

Such a horrible experience. The rooms were filthy and the service was even filthier. They had no sense of human decency. There are no proper amenities, the heaters don't work, the doors don't lock and the staff is just rude. If you have extra money, I recommend burning it rather than staying at this horrible place.

Nice modern apartment with lovely views. However it lacked basic amenities such as storage for clothes/luggage racks, some cooking utensils, and ingredients such as oil, sugar etc. Everything was brand new but it lacked a cosy/homely touch.
The free pick up was good but the overall service during our stay was nothing wow and we didn’t receive help with our luggage. We were never offered servicing of the room or fresh towels which is ridiculous to pay £600 a night and not have this. Website says free ski rental but we were told this wasn’t possible and they were unable to arrange any activities for us. We paid around £80GBP per person for just a four course (vegan) menu for dinner which was tasty, but didn’t really fill us up and wasn’t worth that price in my opinion. The breakfast was also quite a basic buffet with almost no hot dishes and not great vegan choice. I was told I didn’t include my dietary requirements on the booking form, but as a vegan of 11 years and a frequent traveller I do not doubt that I would have done this.
A staff member came to the room to drop off snow shoes for us and knocked, and when we went to answer the door we found they were looking through the glass which was a bit intrusive seeing as we weren’t fully dressed.
Upon check out we were shouted at to ‘hurry up’ because they had to pick up other guests, and once dropped to the ferry terminal the van sped off in a hurry, seconds after we shut the doors. We weren’t notified of this other pickup and were only a few minutes late as we had a lot of luggage, but regardless it’s not a polite way to treat customers who are paying a ridiculously high amount to stay there.
Yes they have a fancy Instagram page and it was a pleasant stay however I think we were overall disappointed with this accommodation and personally would not return. I am sure for much cheaper you can probably find somewhere with better facilities and much better service.

The room is amazing. Hot tub outside. Fridge, stove, microwave full kitchen. Amenities zero. No TV or cable. Bring your laptop or cell phone if you need to watch something. Shampoo, condition, soap and some other necessities that are usually provided by the hotel, not present. Need better cleaning. Prices out of touch. $100 per person for dinner? Really?

Decided to have a short stint in Norway at this place a week ago. The Aurora apartment was bigger than expected. Cozy living room, Kitchen available, Huge shower and a bedroom. Took a gamble by visiting this place for 2 nights only but was lucky enough to be blessed with the northern lights on the 2nd night. Received Aurora alerts from reception and also knocking on the door. During the day we didn’t have much plan but the staff got my wife and I out for a snow shoe hike and a photo shoot. They topped it off with sledding down the snow hills. Thank you Jackie and Manuel for making our stay enjoyable! Would suggest for those who are keen to visit to plan your activities ahead, get your groceries and snacks for the aurora show earlier before heading to the resort. They will ask you if you want to drop by the grocery store when they pick you up from the Bus terminal. Would recommend.

Everything on their website is a lie. This place is a sugar costed fraud run by an incompetent and inconsiderate management.
Me and my wife had a glass hut (igloo) stay in October, and it was snowing that night. We checked in around 8 pm and went to Hut. It's a very very tiny hut - no space to keep big bags or even walk. On top of it, you'll need to spend at least 4 hours learning how to do basic things like water supply, cooking stoves, and the main thing - HEATER, WHICH APPARENTLY DID NOT WORK THAT NIGHT. I and my wife shivered through past midnight till the point we just could not stay in there. I had to pack everything up again at 1 AM and leave! Their on-site support stops at 11 pm, and you're on your own at that point - GOOD LUCK!
Post this traumatic experience - I talked to their front desk personnel next morning, and they said management was not available to talk in person ( which it never is) and reached them out on email. I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH AN INCOSIDERATE INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT IN HOSPITALITY BUSINESS. Their manager Sayed did not issue any refund for a dysfunctional hut but did not give a damn about the troubles we had within their facility.
LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE - YOU ARE GOING TO PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR LITERALLY NOTHING PLUS TRAUMA. THANK ME LATER WHEN YOU SPEND YOUR 350$ SOMEWHERE ELSE.

So cosy! As advertised the aurora views were stunning! We really appreciated the text message alerts provided by staff when the aurora were visible! The staff were wonderful and polite, the room was extremely cosy and we had a wonderful time. We had one issue with the hot tub that the staff quickly resolved, and our stay was not impacted in any way. Thank you very much for letting us stay with you!

I would have loved to provide documented feedback about our stay, but since it got canceled from the host initiative it’s hard to be objective. Oh, and if you wonder on the customer service and help suggesting alternative accommodation, I can’t comment either since we were properly left on our own few weeks before our stay and during high season. Thanks for nothing…

I have been dreaming of this excursion with my husband since we met! I truly had the most lovely time. Our room was beautiful and the view from it with all of it’s quiet, wintry solitude was all I could have hoped for! We caught exciting glimpses of the Northern lights much later on in the evening which really completed an exceptional stay.
The staff is kind and hardworking. The complimentary breakfast was delightful as well as the restaurant upstairs being run so efficiently by Natalia all on her own as the waitstaff. Have this person make you her special cocktail made with Blot! Hot apple delight that I will not soon forget! I am very grateful for the experience I had and hopefully my next stay will be slightly longer!

I was beyond excited for the experience, but due to a canceled flight and a storm, I never made it. I tried to get reimbursed for the $1800+ for the Luxury Panorama Apartment that I booked but was told to go through my insurance. I booked directly through the observatory, and insurance was not an option. Early on, I took advantage of a 20% discount, which gave me a credit of about $372 to use on-site. I understand that they don't control the wrather or airlines, but there could be a contingency when a traveler is physically unable to make it. I didn't know my flight to Bardufoss was canceled until I landed in Oslo. The power had apparently gone out at the observatory as well, so it was difficult to reach someone. Long story short, I was denied a refund. I didn't agree with it, but I accepted the loss for the apartment rental. On February 12, I then inquired about being refunded for the $372 credit. Initially, staff were very responsive, and I was told that it would take four weeks from my stay - which never happened because of bad weather and a canceled flight. Several follow-up emails later, I'm now being ignored, and I still have not received my credit back. As frustrated as I am, I was still polite in all of my correspondence. Although I didn't get the full experience, I was still going to rate my experience, but solely on customer service. Given that I'm out of $1800+ and no one is responding, I'm out of nice things to say. This was my first international trip, and this experience seriously messed it up for me.

The only good thing about the Aurora Borealis Observatory is the location. It’s a beautiful spot on the Senja island. Apart from that we were disappointed from the facilities for such an expensive price. The rooms are small and they don’t have a view to the North to see the northern lights. There is no shampoo or tea/coffee in the room. I wouldn’t recommend it as the island has nicer hotels with a much better price.
ELENI POLYKARPOU — Google review
I have really mixed feelings. On the one hand - the location is stunning. Beautiful. Surprisingly close to the town (so you do get some light pollution) - it’s not “in the middle of nowhere” as it appears from the photos - but it’s still stunning.
This is not a hotel - it’s a small collection of rooms / apartments across a site - with then a reception and breakfast / dinner area. Breakfast was a small selection - but tasted excellent. Staff - weren’t available at reception a lot of the time but seemed friendly.
We stayed in a luxury apartment. It was really big. Quite minimalist inside. Stupid controls for the lights which were incessantly complicated and with no instructions. Little things were annoying - only one pillow each and no spares. Minimal towels. No robes. Not enough coffee - but they weren’t deal breakers. If I’d asked at reception I’m sure they would have got more for us.
It did feel very expensive for what we got if I’m honest.
It all just feels a bit disjointed - like the guest experience hasn’t been considered. I think they over rely on their location and the Northern Lights … and with just a little more focus on the guest experience, they would be excellent.

This hotel could easily be 5 stars, but unfortunately the price/value ratio and lack of basic amenities brings it down to 3.
The good:
- Absolutely great location for watching the northern lights. No need to book any Aurora Hunting trips which easily run 150 EUR p.p. or more. Just step outside your room for good views. Or even better, walk 5-10 up the hill to get amazing, uninterrupted and peaceful views of the lights.
- Great view from the room (Standard apartment) across the nearby fjord.
- Breakfast is small, but good
The bad:
- Way too expensive and not really luxury.
- No closets at all, no shelfs or in the entrance way (where you want to take off your snowy clothes etc.)
- No shampoo, conditioner, lotion, slippers etc. provided. Only a very thin shower gel which we did not use since we brought our own.
- Beds are very basic (blankets are nice and warm though).
- They do not clear the paths properly. It is very icy and lots of people slipped and fell. You can of course say "Well, it is Norway, bring spikes or snowshoes". But for a hotel that caters to regular tourists, do a better job of keeping your guests safe. Either clear the paths properly, provide free spikes or state clearly in your "good to know" section that people need to bring spikes even for simply walking from their room to the restaurant. The distance between the rooms and the restaurant is not clearly stated on their website. We were lucky and had very pleasant weather. I would not want to walk back and forth in -20C and snow/ice storms.
- Restaurant building looks nice, and food is plated nicely, but taste is mediocre.
- Not much to do there other than that. You need a car to get anywhere else (closest grocery store is 10 min by car). It is however great for hiking and snow-shoe hiking. Very peaceful.
Overall, the expectations they set via their website and Instagram do not match the prices they are charging. It is completely OK to stay there, and one can even argue that it saves you money as you do not need to book Aurora chases. But do not expect luxury amenities or treatment. You are met with "northern charm" and as long as you focus on observing the northern lights in relative peace and quiet, you will be fine.
The details just do not match the set expectation. We booked one day tour and, in the description, it states something like "includes tea and a delicious chocolate bar". The tea was regular, cheap Lipton tea and the "delicious chocolate bar" was a local brand Kit-Kat. Just don't overstate what you are actually offering. It sets your guests up for disappointment.
If they got some of the basics and then the little details right, this would easily be 5 stars. They are basically living off the great location and seem to be OK with that.

What a wonderful place to stay, amazing views and really friendly staff. Before our trip here staff were very quick to respond via email and arranged to pick us up from the ferry and dropped us right to the door of our apartment, we stayed in one of the luxury studio apartments- I would recommend this to anyone the views are incredible. They have large windows with electric blinds with undisturbed views of the mountains and Aurora if you are lucky. The only criticism I have is that our hot tub wasn’t heating properly, we informed the staff and they were super quick to respond and try and help us sort it- unfortunately we couldn’t get it sorted but they allowed us to use the villa hot tub and house (which is amazing!) and actually even better view of the aurora which we were lucky to see!! This place was an amazing couple of days of chill after 3 exciting days in Tromso. I would advise this place is more of a self catering apartment than a hotel (although breakfast is nice and the restaurant is amazing too) so you would want to bring supplies with you- just note all supermarkets are shut in Norway on Sundays! We had to get an early ferry upon leaving the resort so couldn’t make it to breakfast so the staff made us a takeaway breakfast which I thought was a really nice touch! The only reason I have given the room a 4 is because of the hot tub, but we understand these things can happen when you are in the arctic!
Polar Park is a family-friendly zoo and polar park located about two hours away from Tromso. It offers large enclosures where visitors can observe arctic fauna such as wolves, brown bears, lynx, arctic foxes, elk, reindeer, musk-oxen, roe deer and moose. The park also provides guided tours for a more informative experience.
Enjoyable time wandering around the big enclosures and observing the Norwegian animals. They seemed happy, well cared for and not stressed, interacting with each other in a natural environment. Two of the keepers stopped randomly and pointed out the best way to see the animals and also lots of interesting facts about them. Very engaging and a credit to the Park. Got some nice photos.

The park is very nice and diverse in the animals they have.
We visited in December and the weather was too bad to see anything, we couldn’t see for example the Bear, Lynx, Reindeer or the Wolverine. We would’ve expected the park to send a message saying that the animals aren’t gonna be available.
The reception lady was nice and nevertheless we enjoyed our time there.

Do the arctic fox experience. It was amazing! We got to feed them, so of course, they were up close and personal. They were completely adorable, and it was totally safe. We loved the whole experience. We loved the rest of the park as well. Seeing the wolves was fantastic. We loved the bears, one even rolled down the hill while we were watching. It's nice that they are in a natural habitat, and they seem to be well taken care of. We even got a brief glimpse of the wolverine.

Amazing to be so close to arctic animals, the guided predators tour was great for information and to be able to see the animals eating. Unfortunately the bears were not viewable this time of year because of hibernation but all the other animals were around. Great experience

Had a chilly experience with the temperature down to -27°C so unfortunately a lot of the animals were inside which I don't blame them for! Friendly staff but would advise visiting on a warmer day/and a weekend day when they have predator feeding. We did see the reindeer, bison, moose, lynx and arctic foxes (the latter of which were adorable). Only there for about an hour and a half before we froze!
Anna Stratten — Google review
It's ok. I expected a much larger more open park, but this is more of a zoo, with large enclosures instead of cages. I would recommend doing the guided tour at 1pm as we only saw a single moose and a deer on our first walk around. The bears, a wolf, the wolverine and some foxes came when the guide called, so we saw them too on the tour. There is other stuff to do, but not more than an hour at best. We did grill some hotdogs and the facilities are nice. If you are in the area; visit, if you want to see a bear; visit at 1pm. One thing to note, you can camp in the little area next to the parking lot and there is facilities that are open for the campers.

Absolutely a wonderful place to visit! We booked the package to visit the foxes and it was easy to see the employee loved his job but even more so-- the foxes loved the employees! We also met the wolverine (not personally!) as he came out to get snacks from one of the guides and enjoyed the bears and the Lynx as well. Would recommend to anyone. Take your time here. Go slow and enjoy the experience.

Visited in winter so, understandably, many of the animals were inactive or hibernating. However, we got to witness the wolves playing (which was magical), and had a chance to get close to the arctic foxes. The animals look well taken care of and the staff were very attentive and helpful.
Bring a good camera, dress warmly in winter, be patient and allow yourself at least 3 hours for a leisurely visit.

We visited the park in early Jan and we could see all the animals except - of course - the bears. We spent more than 2 hours watching the animals: as this is not a zoo, it takes time to see the animals who are free to move and hide. We found them all very friendly, not intimidated by the human presence. We loved this park a lot. At the end we had lunch in the warm and cozy restaurant area.

Too pricey for what it offers. 💵💵💵💵
Unless you're really into long, paid, walks.
Few animals, most are barely visible, some are not visible at all. I've seen more elk and reindeer on the side of the road, during any given driving hour, than in the wildlife park.
Sure, it's beautiful, the animals have a lot of space and probably a good life. That's also probably the reason why they're barely visible.
In my opinion, a fair price would be 120 NOK. 315 seems far too high...
I've even asked for a refund and the suggestion was to join a guided tour later, instead. Which I kindly declined.

It was a comfortable half day trip and worth the experience.
The park itself is like a small hike through the norwegian nature and encountering their wild life there. Surrounded by the beautiful nature of Rohkunborri nationalpark.
The staff is very friendly and open for any questions regarding their animals. Their zoo shop is also sizable and has plenty of merchandise to choose from.
The animals (roughly by my memory)
1 wolverine
3 polar foxes
~1 moose (i believe there are more, but I only saw one)
~4 (domesticated) grey wolves
~5 wild grey wolves
~6 wild brown bears
2 bears called salt&pepper (raised by humans, salt is a female albino) which serve as mascots of the zoo
2 lynxes (father & son in separate enclosures)
~5-7 musk oxen
~8 reindeer
~8 domestic goats
~multiple deer (presumably red deer, not visible during my trip)

Such a wonderful place! It is very evident that the animals are being treated very well, the zookeeper was awesome and happily answered all my questions (I had about 506 lol). The weather was wonderful so most of the animals were sunbathing and visible. We got to enjoy arctic fox training and feeding sesdion which was so much fun! They are so cute, engaged and super smart! You want at least 3 hours to enjoy the place and see the animals. In addition there's a lot of sitting areas, a bridge that crosees the gushing river, a nice coffee shop with fast food and a store. Very good prices and wonderful people. The park is clean and very well maintained. Animal enclosures are very big and you can clearly tell they are at ease and taken care of, which made my experience perfect. I highly recommend making the trip it's worth it.

The park was spectacular and the animals and their enclosures were wonderful. It was disappointing though that on the day we visited in November we were unable to see any bears (hibernating), reindeer (illness) and we did not see any male deer or moose, and no muskox. Just unlucky on the day. Definitely worth the visit though.

Waterfront hotel with casual apartments offering dining, a sauna & a hot tub, plus a fishing dock.
Excellent view. Nice clean room. Comes with shared sitting, kitchen and balcony to catch Aurora. The place is so peaceful and quiet at night.
However, it's out of nowhere. It's not situated in a convenient location.
The hot water system needs to be improved. Hot water runs out fast, I assume it's a small tank as there won't be any hot water left after 2 or 3 people shower. You will have to wait for at least 45 minutes for the tank to be filled and water to be heated. The toilet floor is heated. So that was nice.
We saw great Aurora the entire night (starting from 8pm till almost midnight). Best place to spot aurora is behind the restaurant.

Amazing location, historic and beatifull place!
They have a good mountain for hike just in front of the hotel, movie postals. The islands around, caribbean style, coral beaches, clear water, full of activities to do. The staff from Reception and Activities were really nice and very helpful.
Super recommendable place.

Apartments are clean and warm with plenty of space and self-catering facilities, but the adjacent hotel has a good restaurant so you can eat well even if you don’t want to take the trouble to cook.

We stayed for only one night. The view from the room was fantastic. We had two single beds that we had to push together, which was ok but not as comfortable as a normal double. The room was really warm, even with all of the heaters off. We couldn’t have a window open as all of the ‘arms’ for holding the windows open had rusted and broken. No shampoo in the shower - not a big deal but most other hotels in Norway provide it. The room has tea and coffee but no milk. The blinds are very poor at blocking light during the summer nights. The restaurant was good and the staff were friendly. The price seems a bit high for Norwegian standards, but for the view, we would stay again.

Our stay at Hamn i Senja was good in early January. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. Our group found the food at the restaurant to be pretty bad for the price, yet it was the only food available in the area. My main complaint came with our reservation to book the lighthouse. We had planned to view the aurora by the lighthouse, so we paid 615kr for our group to use the lighthouse. While the listing promised hot drinks, there was no coffee or even hot water available for our use on a cold night.

We booked directly a kajak tour of 3.5 to 4 hours on the website of the organization that runs also the hotel. And the activity was offered by the hotel as well. After 2.5 hours we were back, because we paddled so fast according to our guide. This was already clear half way, but he never suggested a detour so the trip would have last longer.
In the confirmation Email a lunch and hot drinks were included during the trip. But no hot drinks and a lunch was prepared and sent with the guide. Only after asking and insisting on the lunch, we got lunch finally at the hotel.
Compared to others in the region, the price was quite high.
So check you confirmation Email very good, so you get where you paid for.
By the way, the archipel is beautiful and certainly a kajak trip worthwhile.

Beautiful location and amazing views from my suite. Otherwise nice and well equipped room but I was left wondering why instead of a proper double bed there were cheap too soft and narrow twin beds in a suite… A good restaurant on site and excellent breakfast included.

We enjoyed our time at Hamn. Unfortunately we encountered a few problems during our stay. Firstly we were not given the room which we booked. We had booked the modern suite with sea view and outdoor area but where given a smaller, dated suite in a different building with no patio. When we raised with this with the staff they were polite and acknowledged it was incorrect but stated that there was nothing that could be done (although we were offered to use the jacuzzi and sauna for free). The blinds were partially broken and made for a bright room the entire night. The service in the restaurant was very slow (~1 hour) yet the food was nice. The area is really nice although quite far from a few of Senja’s main attractions. Overall it was definitely overpriced and we didn’t receive the luxury we were hoping for. We would probably stay somewhere else next time.

We came only for breakfast and for the sauna : it was incredible. The place is beautiful, the food is delicious. Moreover, the staff is great and really nice. I must say that the lady at the reception has been extra nice with us, it was really pleasant. We do hope that we will be able to come back!

So many things to rave about this place. The location, incredible. The room, stunning. The view, WOW. The jetty out front to do an Arctic dip- lovely. The sauna, give it a miss, it’s a weird setup. The hot tub, we had a nice time but the spa has not capitalized on the location - it should be raised so you can actually see the view. Breakfast, lovely. Staff- most were okay but there was an obnoxious manager who spoke on her phone very loudly during our breakfast with no regard for the guests. Also - the signage for reception and directions to the room are very lacking. Not as friendly nor welcoming a location as everywhere else we’ve experienced in Norway, which is a shame because otherwise it’s such a beautiful spot.

Prachtige lokatie.

Beautiful location. Really in the middle of nowhere. We arrived in bad weather and it was an exciting ride in the dark.
Large 2 person apartment with extensive kitchen. You cannot determine the heating yourself, so it sometimes became a bit too hot for our liking.
Upon arrival it was not clear where the reception was. This is located in the large white building on the water side, but it cannot be seen from where you come by car.
House numbers are a bit unusual. Our apartment was 1704 and our bedroom (inside the apartment) 1702, the key said 1702. So we had to search because the front door says 1704 with small letters indicating that 1702 is inside.

The hotel is somewhat a tourist trap. Very strange heating method, you cannot control the AC by yourself. The hairdryer worked poorly. The mattress is tooooo soft and makes a backache. No grocery around but the dinner menu is hardly appetising.
The view is fine.

Didn't stay for long as we were on the move to see as much as possible. Would love to go back and stay here for a few days. Absolutely beautiful location. They had electrical bikes and kayaks to rent as all well as many other activities available. The provided dinner was perfect, some of the best food we have had in country.
The gondolas up to the top gives a beautiful view of Narvik and the sea. Each gondola has 10 seat. 👍🚡
The restaurant at the top only serves simple foods and drinks. 👎
Out of 3 automates for buying parking and gondola tour only 1 worked! 🅿️👎

We rented out skis in early January.
The equipment was ok, nothing special compared to standards of the alps, slopes and helmets old, skis more recent.
What really made us mad though was that after payment we were offered to get an intro to the ski resort, mentioning that only one of the slopes would be open. To pay the full price for reduced opening hours with no slopes and no info in advance about this is, to put it mildly, very bad service and, to be blunt, close to scamm.
We can therefore not recommend this rental service!
Alexander Mix — Google review
Rental equipment is very low quality and very expensive for that also.
Additionally, the person at the rental was extremely rude of us. He did not understand our English and since he did not understand, he made fun of us. If you can't talk English properly, it's you I should make fun of.
Sorry, we definitely won't take a vacation here again. Great job.

Very nice and informative. It takes about 2-3 hours to visit the exhibition, organised over three floors/topics: the naval battle(s) in Narvik in 1940, the ground warfare and the prison camps in northern Norway during WW2, and a display of military vehicles/cannons combined with thoughts about wars and conflicts.

Great reminder of what we have done ourselves in the past. Any war museum in the world is always disappointing. But the definitely have reserved history very well. It’s a very small museum, but well preserved, enough information and lots of war vehicles inside the museum, which was fascinating.

The Narvik War Museum is well worth a visit! It provides a very detailed look at the history and stories surrounding the Battle for Narvik during World War II. A lot of thought has gone into making the exhibits accessible and a wide range of languages are available both as text and audio. It's perhaps suited more to school aged children and older as there isn't very much that would be entertaining to younger children.
I would also recommend a look at the gift shop which is accessible whether you pay to visit the museum or not. Considering its size, it is quite well stocked with all things 'Narvik' (not just war related)!
Overall, expect to spend around an hour during your visit or up to two hours if you're having a thorough explore!

The war museum in Narvik offers a captivating and educational experience, allowing visitors to explore the local history during the Battle of Narvik. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, presenting a vivid portrayal of the challenges and sacrifices of that time. It's fascinating to witness authentic artifacts, photographs, and stories that provide a glimpse into the past. The museum's immersive approach, incorporating multimedia elements, truly transports you to that era. Grottebadet is placed in an underground cave, what makes it special and different than other water parks. There are different pools to choose between in Grottebadet. For example the racing pool (which also has a 1, 3 and 5 meter jump), the hot pool, or the normal big pool with a big slide and waves.
If you are hungry you can also buy food in the small restaurant which is placed next to the big pool. The prices are a little bit high, but that is normal.
It is a great place to visit with your family at any day of the week.

Mixed feelings... Nice bath in a cave, but they like to close the pool VERY early compared to their advertised closing time. Good for families, but not allowing people to bring food seems silly, when all they have is a relatively unhealthy cafe. Also people here don't know how to share the sports pool when it's filling up

Overall decent, but I felt sick after like 2 hours of being there. There is only one slide from what I know at least, and iy gets boring after two rounds down it. the smaller areas felt pretty crowded and there where random things floating in the water and kids biting off chunks of water floats.
I got a headache in about 20 minutes.

Located about 1km south of the town entrance along the road to Bleik, Spaceship Aurora is an innovative space center that offers a wide range of experiences. Visitors can enjoy a widescreen 16-minute movie and explore exhibits about the aurora borealis and Norway's involvement in space research. The center also provides the opportunity to join a virtual mission aboard Spaceship Aurora, where participants can send up a virtual rocket.
Was so Lucky to get a hold of a family ticket with the Mission to Mars and all 5 of us were fully entertained by our roles on the spaceship. Kids were loving it!

I got an welcome of a weird smell not sure what it was do not want to know that it was. We bought tickets that was way overpriced. We bought the travel to mars tickets 400nok for one ADULT! And 225nok for an child. (9-16) there was some uniforms in shitty condition. Sure the training was sort of fun but not really. When we came into the spaceship there were seats with seatbelts. I thought there was gonna be some vibration or get thrown. But no why is there seatbelts then? And then came the last room. You got some vr's mine was a little bit destroyed but still worked. You controlled sone robots surprisingly that was the best place to be.
Would I come back? No if you have kids under 9 they could have fun but no.
Was it worth it? No there is nothing special there you can learn it on YouTube or search it up on Google.
The rating is really bad you should step up your game with this. Or lower the price.

Not meant for adults, and not much for children either. I was expecting to see and learn about space technology but there were nearly none. This has to be experienced. Starting with the beautiful little Bleik harbour and the very welcoming and friendly captain and guide. This hour and some long guided boat bird safari around the fabulous Bleik Island was truly special. We saw white-tailed eagles, thousands of puffins and a number of other sea birds. The guide was knowledgeable and had so many wonderful stories and tellings that really made the trip. Fluent in Norwegian, English and German as well as a few other languages I am sure. Definately well worth the admission fee. Can't wait to take my parents on this trip, keen birders that they are will be amazed.

Excellent tour for 600nok per person. Short boat ride to the rock and then hundreds of puffins. Lots of other seabirds as well as sea eagles too. Tour guide was very softly spoken but captain was very loud and frequently pointed out eagle sightings. Highly recommended.

The weather was a bit frisky, boat rocking a bit, poor visibility, and still it was an amazing experience. The crew was telling lots of the Puffins and other seabirds in the area. Karl (the deckhand) even convinced me there were no waves (sure felt like it though). Highly recommended.

Visited with my family - wife, four kids. Since it was a Saturday in July, the scheduled trips were fully booked, but the owners told me on the phone that they will do another trip even if we would be the only passengers—which was nice.
It’s an short trip out to the puffin island. On the way out, you get some info on what you are about to see. The island itself is very impressive up close. And then you get to see the life around it. It is an unforgettable experience.
And it all happens against the backdrop of the cliffs surrounding Bleik. It’s totally worth it.

A sweet trip to see the Puffins on the water and close to the Island. We made it spontaneously and booked it online. Very nice host Rolf and his granddaughter. Price absolute ok. The most impressive - of course - are the Puffins, and they are really that sweet :) Definitely recommended tour when you are nearby Bleik, we wouldn't want to miss that experience.

The guide was informative and had his own type of humour. There were a lot of puffins to see. I just wish we could've gotten a little bit closer. No lifejackets were needed to be put on. The boat was very unstable and you had to hold onto something to not fall over. Nevertheless we felt safe. Overall a worthy experience.

Wonderful excursion!! Puffin Safari staff (when I went Rolf&Per) is really professional, friendly and so nice, they gave us a lot of information and we saw hundreds of puffins! I went to similar excursion in Iceland,, Faroer, Scotland and I never manage to see a single puffin, here you are literally sorrounded. And the trip itself on the tiny boat Laura is really beautiful, the views of the coast are amazing. Thank you for this great experience

It was a great safari. In our opinion there are two things that can be approved.
We were in the Harbour on time, but didn’t know what boat would take us. It would helped us if the organization made it more clear where to meet.
During the last part the captain used a hammer on the side of the boat. Besides that is was an enormous lot of sound for us as passengers, it disturbed all the wildlife on the island, and that a few times a day.
Besides these remarks it was a great safari, where we saw a lot of birds
Pieter en Sanne — Google review
This tour exceeded expectations and was definitely worth the price. We got to see countless puffins and them interacting with different birds. There are also sea eagles hunting the puffings and various birds trying to steal fish from puffins.
Puffins aren't very big so bring a camera with a appropriate lens (I only had my phone) and maybe pack some binoculars for best views. You can see them well enough with your owns eyes though.
We could bring our dog with us which was a big plus.
Highly recommend when in Bleik!

Fantastic experience with Karl and Martins Puffin Safari! Karl has been a fisher himself and knows all about the nature and wildlife and he knows puffins very well - he will tell you. Many stories and anecdotes from Karl, the safe cruising from Martin and of course - thousands of puffins and some great eagles make this trip so enjoyable! We went on board with a 7-months-old baby and it was no problem at all. It can be very windy of course.

We decided to do the puffin safari in Bleik as we missed out on Lovund Island earlier and I been wanting to see puffins for so long now.
What an experience, we saw soooo many puffins, everywhere sitting on the water, so close to the boat, thousands of them. Flying around, diving, flapping their wings, puffins just being puffins, so cute. We also saw some sitting on their "veranda" as our guide so nicely put it.
We also saw many Sea Eagles but for me, the puffins were the heroes. It really was an exciting experience, even my husband was impressed 😀
Very friendly, helpful and informative guide Rolf.
I can't recommended it enough, but make sure you book ahead.

Nice to see the Arctic circle markers from different years, but the centre itself is mainly just a shop selling tourist items. Not much actual information anywhere. It was fine. Very crowded and has more of a focus on the gift and curio store than on any information about the area or history of the place. Interesting to cross the artic circle. If you feel like some reindeer meat, then the restaurant has some reindeer dishes , we skipped it. Not particularly well kept, but the staff were pleasant enough.

Whilst we are so glad we came here, I can’t deny that we weren’t a little disappointed.
✅ there is lots of parking and there are lots of walks to go on in the vicinity. You can ask the cashiers to play the movie in your native language.
❌ The restaurant closed early with no sign to reflect this, it was just a big shop selling magnets and hats and such, and the ‘movie’ ended up making us laugh by how bad it was. The visuals were very low budget and, whilst we were hoping for an informative video on the Arctic circle and its origins, we were met with a primary school level explanation which was quite repetitive.

Gift shop at the arctic circle crossing. Generic memorabilia. Most are cheap stuff made in china with Norwegian prices. They do have a mail post with a nice arctic circle stamp which is a innice touch. The toilets were all out due to a plumbing issues. The building has a big sign on its roof with the coordinates to take a photo in front of. There is a cafeteria but close pretty early. Plenty of parking in front and an overnight parking to the side.

Stopped with the intention of having lunch etc but due to a problem all toilets and cafe services were shut. Probably not their fault but as a visitor, not what you wanted to see. The "shop" was full of trinkets and probably targeted at children. Outside was nice although there were several drones in the air despite this being a restricted zone.

Got to be done, reindeer burger and coffee at the Arctic Circle. The visitor centre boasts a well stocked souvenir shop where we were served by a very friendly senorita, gracias! I recently visited the aviation museum in Bodø and was blown away by the sheer number of planes and displays on offer. The military section of the museum was particularly interesting, with several rooms filled with real planes that have played a significant role in the history of Norwegian aviation. There were also plenty of displays showcasing plane engines and other aircraft components, along with informative explanations about how they work.
The civil aviation section of the museum was equally impressive, with a wide variety of planes on display ranging from small private planes to larger commercial airliners. There were also several interactive exhibits that provided a deeper understanding of the science behind flight.
While the museum was a bit pricey, I found it to be well worth the cost. The 2-3 hour tour gave me plenty of time to explore all the exhibits and learn more about the rich history of aviation in Norway. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the aviation museum in Bodø for anyone with an interest in planes and aviation.

Visiting the Aviation Museum in Bodø became an unforgettable experience, filled with knowledge enrichment. The museum astonishes with its scale and diversity of exhibits. Walking through the spacious halls, you find yourself surrounded by a vast number of airplanes and aviation technology, each telling its own unique story.
The museum displays aircraft from different eras, starting from the first aviation pioneers to modern military and civilian aircraft. The level of preservation of many exhibits is particularly impressive, allowing one to understand and appreciate the technical achievements of different times.
The museum also offers unique opportunities for learning and entertainment, including simulated flights and educational programs. This makes it an ideal place for family leisure, where both children and adults can find something interesting and informative.
The Aviation Museum in Bodø is undoubtedly a place worth visiting. It offers an extensive collection that amazes with its scale and diversity, and provides deep knowledge about the world of aviation. It's a place where history meets modernity, creating a unique and inspiring adventure for curious minds of all ages.

Very well organized museum. Interesting exhibitions and good coffee 👍

The museum offers a big collection of aviation history, I was really surprised to find such a gem here!
Sadly they did some work on the public aviation part so we couldn't see much of that, but we wouldn't have had time anyway since the military part had us occupied until they closed.
We were there for about three hours and we couldn't see everything we wanted so I'd suggest getting there early enough.
One big plus which I didn't see in many other museums is that you can touch many of the pieces at display, which in my opinion adds a lot to the experience.

Great museum! Tons of reading material, tons of unique exhibits! The reception has information in many languages of the world. Convenient location two kilometers from the airport. I recommend to visit everyone, it will be interesting for all ages!

It's got to be 5*this place is an amazing experience and on a day like today very good to hide from the weather conditions. Take a number 1/2/3 Bus from Bodo, pay by card no problem. Then enjoy a coffee & cake later.Great day

From an American point of view I thought this was an excellent museum. Clean, open, many of the exhibits were in several languages. It will take about 2 hours to see it thoroughly. From an aviation enthusiast point of view it was great to see that all aviation was celebrated and not just the Norwegian history, though that was obviously emphasized. Great history, cool museum. The control tower was fun too.

I would recommend you leave at least half a day to fully explore this fantastic attraction in Bodø. It is full of interesting items - staff are super help full and friendly - and so knowledgeable- there is a real sense of pride in the work they do and the information they pass on.

Excellent museum! I was so surprised to find this amazing museum during a short stay here. As an aviation professional I always seek out aviation museums but I had no idea this one was here and it was SO well done. Great history of aviation in Norway both civil and military. Loved it and extremely well curated. Worth the trip!

Very nice museum for those interested in aviation. Most exhibits don't have any fence so you can actually walk all the way up to the planes!

Fantastic museum , very good history of aviation from the first flight , the two world wars and contribution of aviation to the growth of Norway 🇳🇴. The different aircraft displayed and the equipment both civilian and military was fantastic
We had the RIB ride to Rødøy. Except for the hike which was amazing, our guide was super friendly, added interesting facts along the way, and gave us extra tips for the rest of our trip.
I highly recommend going on a trip to Rødøy with them!

Put together a super three-day adventure tour along the beautiful Helgeland coast. Safe navigation and super local knowledge meant that we had maximum use of the time, with little waiting. Great climbing on Rødøyløva, Gin tasting atMyken, gun shooting in Ørnes, trail cycling, Rib riding, and a fabulous climb on the Blackice (Svartisen).
We also had a great overnight stay in Glomfjord, where we took sauna and swam in the sea with eagles around us.
Recommends everyone to use Meløy Adventure (Øyvind), to plan your next adventure.

Hey,
We are very excited about our Glacier Hike! The experience on the ice was outstanding! Our guide Steve was great with us and let us do individual things several times. We were able to climb up a 6m high ice wall, which was great!
We can absolutely recommend the tour, especially with the guide Steve we were very satisfied!

We had a great day with our guide Ulrik on Svartisen glacier!
He is a very knowledgable guy, and explained a lot about the glacier and the surroundings.
The tour was tailored to our liking as we were just with two.
We had nice convesations about generic stuf in Norway and he tipped us to visite a bakery in Lom. Great tip Ulrik!

We had a great trip from Stött to Kalsholmen lighthouse and back via rib boat. Fantastic views and sunset with a calm ocean, we spent several hours at Kalsholmen, getting a tour of the lighthouse, grilling, sauna, and late night swimming a short distance from the sauna. Great service and deep knowledge about the area. I'd love to go back, apparently it will be possible to spend the night there next year. Highly recommended

(Translated by Google) The road to Austerdalsisen was not easy. We tripped over fallen logs and branches, jumped over streams (we later crossed them)… never giving up on the goal. Only our trekking shoes and a third of our calves, which were mercilessly drowned by the local swamps, gave way. The forest ended and the terrain changed. We started (about another 3 km to the destination) to climb the rocky surface. On the left side we passed massive rapids and waterfalls flowing from the glacial lake. We realized how small and powerless we were against the forces of nature… and we still didn't know what was coming next in this untouched wilderness. We continued (jumped) along the red-colored rock formations… an unreal landscape that was once covered by a glacier. We reached Austerdalsvatnet lake. Here the tongue of the glacier was shown to us in its full beauty. We reached the Austerdalsisen slide. I cannot describe the feeling we experienced. The gentlemen pulled out a Tulamorka (bleeeee, I don't normally drink it) and scraped some ice from the glacier into the shots. We tapped and looked down at the huge, multi-colored mass with complete humility.

Cesta k Austerdalsisen nebyla jednoduchá. Klopýtali jsme přes padlé kmeny a větve, přeskakovali potoky (později už jsme jimi procházeli)… nevzdávali se cíle. Vzdaly se pouze naše trekové boty a třetina lýtek, které nemilosrdně utápěly místní bažiny. Les skončil a terén se změnil. Začali jsme (cca další 3 km až do cíle) stoupat po skalnatém povrchu. Po levé straně jsme míjeli mohutné peřeje a vodopády, stékající z ledovcového jezera. Uvědomili jsme si, jak jsme proti přírodním silám malincí a bezmocní… a to jsme ještě nevěděli, co bude v této nedotčené divočině následovat. Pokračovali (poskakovali) jsme dál po rudě zbarvených skalních útvarech… neskutečnou krajinou, kterou kdysi pokrýval ledovec. Dostali jsme se k jezeru Austerdalsvatnet. Zde se nám v plné kráse ukázal jazyk ledovce. Dorazili jsme až ke splazu Austerdalsisen. Nedokáži popsat pocit, který jsme prožívali. Pánové vytáhli Tulamorku (blééé, normálně ji nepiji) a do panáků naškrábali trochu ledu z ledovce. Ťukli jsme si a s naprostou pokorou shlíželi na tu obrovskou, různobarevnou masu.

(Translated by Google) On the way to the starting point you will regularly find signs "P Svartisen". When you get there, you find that the parking lot is closed and there are no boats. You can park on the street beforehand, but expect a few campers there. The path from the "parking lot" on the street to the boat launch is about 2km on a gravel road. From there it's about 4km along the lake and then another 3km to the tongue. We went there by bike, which is highly recommended for the route to the boat dock. There was/is a campsite at the boat launch that is closed. Everything looks pretty run down. Will it open again?
The path along the lake is overgrown and extremely (!) muddy. You're more likely to wade than hike. We are by no means fans of tourist boats, but in hindsight we would have taken the boat (if it was running). Once you get to the end of the lake, the path becomes dry and rocky. You are in a beautiful glacier landscape with rushing water and a great glacial lake. There is a small shelter within sight of the tongue.
Now anyone who has ever seen a glacier will be a little disappointed. It's still nice, but in my opinion not worth the effort and the terrible muddy path. You can trudge back again...

How could ancient people manage to erect this statue on pure water? No one knows! What a mystery...

A haunting Anthony Gormley statue looking out to sea from Mo I Rana. There’s a glass panel to allow for great views, with some Norwegian inscriptions. If you get here earlier in the day, there are some built in recliner sun loungers which would be great to catch some rays. There are other seating options too, should you need a driving break like us before heading to the Arctic Circle centre!

Great rafting activity on our way south. It is a highlight in our trip!! We had a great time and a lot of fun. The owners and our guide Vetle are very professional. Our group were lucky to kayak 7 days of grade 4 with the calm and kind River North team, who guided us across the exceptional offerings which Trofors and surrounding areas had to offer.
Mariann, Joe, Rhys and Zach fostered a sense of confidence and safety whilst encouraging each of us to push to the upper end of our comfort zone.
The team were both flexible and attentive to detail to make each day special (e.g. with media, swapping our boats to play boats to make sections more challenging, doing shuttles at different sections for members with varying energy levels).
Grateful for the week we received and hope to be back soon.

Scenic Sjøgata is a residential neighborhood on the Vefsna River that features traditional wooden houses built in the 19th century. Cozy cafes and colorful boathouses line the waterfront, which is also the backdrop for local history exhibits in the Helgeland Museum and Vesfn Museum. A zip-line attraction offers thrilling rides across the river, while the Sjosiden Senter mall draws local shoppers.
The Petter Dass Museum, located in Alstahaug south of Sandnessjoen, is a stunning showcase of avant-garde architecture and offers a fascinating insight into the life and work of the medieval Norwegian poet Petter Dass. The museum is situated amidst breathtaking granite surroundings, with pleasant grounds that include a walk to the lake, church, cemetery, grass-roofed buildings, and picnic benches. It holds great historical and architectural significance and boasts knowledgeable staff.
Beautiful views, cafe and Museam. Well worth a visit of you're in the area.
Callum Miller — Google review
We stumbled across this place while driving the Kystricksveien. As we are British atheists we skipped the museum as the religious poetry would probably be wasted on us. However, I was blown away with how they had carved out the granite to fit the museum in between. The stone is just stunning and it's amazing to think of the work involved to do this. The grounds were also very pleasant with a walk to the lake, church, cemetery, grass roofed buildings and picnic benches.
The cafe was also great, with a nice view of the water and good selection of cakes, that the staff helpfully talked us through. The lunch menu also looked good.

So glad we booked. After driving for a number of hours we stopped in for 3 hours of walking, animals, food and some fun family orientated rides and attractions that our daughter really enjoyed. The park isn't huge, but that means you can manage to walk it easily in a few hours, although we could also have spent longer. We saw a few of the animals, but we late for the feedings. We had a snack at the restaurant and the food was good and relatively fast. There was hand disinfectant at every station and everything was clean. Some rides were closed due to Covid19, which was a bummer, but better to be safe. If we are ever passing by again we will definately stop. Well worth the visit.

Nice place for children in the age 3+. Plenty animals and activities. Even if it consumes some money to spend a day there for a family, it is a memory that children remembers. Some activities has to be paid for extra, in addition to the entrance fee, like the Zip-line (photo), the climbing area and the internal shuttle train. The crash-boats were fun, but there was also a lot of people waiting for thos, so expect some waiting there. Also the downhill carting/roller coaster was fun for the kids, but might not be something for those below 4years old. The day we were there, it was more than 30deg temperature...
The prominent granite massif known as Torghatten, situated on Torget island south of Bronnoysund, is renowned for its natural tunnel running through the center. The hole measures 160m in length, 35m in height and 20m in width and can be accessed via a relatively easy walking track from the base of the peak. The best vantage point to view this iconic spectacle is from a southbound Hurtigruten coastal ferry rounding the island.
Amasing place. Have been there at the 10th February. Lots of snow and -16celcius. But still all the roads were cleared of snow, even the path that leads from the road up the mountain was cleaned of snow. Interesting plce to see and visit. Highly recomend!

Place rather an embarrassment; there's STAIRS going up to the hole! Was in Brønnøysund for 2 days (Aug 23-24, 2023) to get my bicycle repaired. The bike shop that did it was already done by noon the 2nd day, so I thought: Why not go to the hole mountain everyone's so eager to see. And well, I'm not a landmark hunter for a reason, & the place, sure enough, confirmed my bias. Just see for yourself:

Recommended mountain fortress with underground tunnels to see in Stjørdal. Located just around 45 minutes from Trondheim. Parking area, toilett, benches, museum, cafetaria (at the moment close) are available. Guide by request. Make sure to take a picture over the sitemap near the parking area so it will be easier to check the number and the place inside the fortress. Try to get up to tower nr. 8. Inside the tunnel it can be chill, especially inside the lounge room. Free entrance to the fortress.

A very curious place. When we arrived, the kiosk was closed. A small house was used as a museum that was still half unfinished. There we found a sort of alternative kiosk built inside.
The fortress itself is still very much as if it's just abandoned a few days ago. Be very careful with small kids!!! There are a lot of sharp edges and steep en slippery stairs. Also mind your head for the low ceiling.
Some spaces have lights, some do not and are very dark.
It would also be nice if there was more information, and also in English!
