One of the most important, famous, historical, and Best history ruins in Russia. This city, especially this Kremlin was the start of Russian Democracy and It was once prosperous city. I heard that Russians are really proud of this history. There are lots of Russian tourists. I was the only Asian person to visit(haha). Anyway it was really interesting. This city and Kremlin was not conquered by Mongolian Invasion. Alexander Nepsky did well. Nice place to visit.

What a truly spectacular place. Although much of the walls and surrounding buildings have been restored, it still retains much of its historical narrative, and is a great place to enjoy history through the millenia.

Excellent monument of medieval culture and architecture of XI-XVI centuries. You are going to find splendid cathedral of Saint Sophia built in XI inside the Kremlin. Splendid Archeological meseum full of medieval artifacts and collection of medieval icons is also situated in the Kremlin. Highly recommended for your visit.

Save your precious time and money, almost 80% things are closed due to construction work. I still decided to go, really beautiful place. Can easily reach via Bus No. 7 (use 2GIS app for bus routes and timings).

This is a definite must go if you are in the town of Veliky Novgorod. This outdoor museum provides a pretty good flavour of how Russian houses and buildings in the countryside used to look like in the past. It was also a very pleasant surprise to find out that we could enter the buildings and poke around at the various recreated scenes. Only giving it a 4 stars because two thirds of the museum was closed for restoration when I visited

Interesting History. Novgorod was once a big commercial spot. This city was one of Hanseatic alliance city, with London and Stokholm. Properous city. But Ivan the terrible trampled this city, because it is dangerous to Moscow country and did not obey to his opinion. According to explanation this territory was for selling products, like market.

If you're in Veliky Novgorod and looking for a really cozy and traditional Russian meal, Dom Berga is the perfect place. The food is fantastic - especially the mushroom soup and the dumplings - but it's also great for brunch or dinner. And don't forget about their excellent cranberry drink!
Traditional fare in a traditional setting. Particularly recommend the mushroom soup and the dumplings. Also the pickled mushrooms and the assorted pickled vegetables. Excellent cranberry beverage - just perfect!

Food was average but the service was pathetically slow. We were a party of four, of which two of us got the food but the other two had to wait for one hour to get their food. Besides a shoulder shrug they could did nothing to speed up getting the food on the table.

Perhaps I chose the wrong dish but this was the worst meal I've had in Russia. Two mice size pieces of beef smaller than my pinky nail, bread was inedible and so overpriced). Service was friendly and nice.

The cafe Skazka is a popular spot in the city of Veliky Novgorod, and the food is always delicious. The downside is that the service has become much worse in recent years, after Covid closed down.
While it has been some years since I experienced this wonderful cafe, I still think of the meals and fellowship this cafe provided. Such a magical place.

The food is delicious no matter what you order from their menu. I would highly advise to reserve a table at least several hours beforehand as the place is very popular all days of the week. In case there's no place in chaikhana, you can always try the restaurant right next to it - Portland where you can order the food from chaikhana. The only difference between the two places is the atmosphere. I like it better in chaikhana.

This is a very nice children-friendly restaurant! I had pasta with cheese sauce and strawberry-mint lemonade – they were great! Wouldn’t recommend strawberry cheesecake, it was just fine. There is a separate room for kids to play and from what I saw, they enjoy it a lot! P. S. The name of the restaurant is in French even though they have Italian cuisine. Doesn’t really matter, just don’t get confused :)
Aliaksandra Bondarava — Google review
I have been many times now to La Chatte - I come every summer. The service is really good - and the food is delicious! There is a wide assortment of dishes for everyone. The presentation of the food is very nice - especially the desserts. The atmosphere is very calm an relaxed and the interior is very chic and comfortable. There is a small children's playroom with toys and video so the little ones can escape and parents and guests do not have to hear them.

I ate here for a very late lunch or early dinner in the restaurant (there is also a cafe). The portions were a little small but were incredibly delicious. It is possible I was a bit hungry but my trout, black spaghetti and caviar creme was delectable and my wife’s turkey burger was delicious. We also ordered desserts and they were generous and well presented. We’d definitely go back.
