The location is ideal for enjoying breathtaking sunset views while dining in style. Overall, Scarista House is a charming lodging option that offers excellent amenities and impeccable hospitality.
Went for evening meal - superb in every respect! Old-school service and attention to detail, old-school furnishings and decor; but absolutely brilliant cuisine....

Superb meal last night. Such a privilege to dine with you, thank you. We also enjoyed meeting our fellow non-resident diners. Congratulations again to the couple celebrating their Wedding - what a magical day!
Theresa Robertshaw — Google review
Just had the most splendid tea at Scarista House. Speciality teas, delightful range of sandwiches, beautiful scones jam and cream, and exquisite pastries. All made in house to satisfy greedy guests!

Had a Sunday dinner set menu. The whole experience was A* from start to finish.
frances glover — Google review
The website advertises breakfast for non-guests but it actually doesn't state the times, when we came around to ask for a table we were told the breakfast closes at 8.30. Don't go spontaneously.
Jasmin Simmen — Google review
Wonderful dining experience as always, prime location to watch the sunset.
Annalie Sinfield — Google review
Only visited for a dinner. Most amazing food centred on local produce. Stunning location by white sand beaches.
Linda Mottram — Google review
Ate dinner here on 01/11/22 on the recommendation of a friend. Odd set up of being escorted to a drawing room with other guests before being seated at your table. We personally found this slightly awkward and felt like we were intruding on other families' conversations. Absolutely stunning setting albeit slightly outdated interior. Food was tasty, however presentation was somewhat lacking. We felt that the meal was grossly overpriced. Waiting staff were friendly but not particularly proactive when it came to replenishing drinks or taking drink orders (waited an hour before being asked if we wanted another drink). Atmosphere was lacking and I feel that background music would have been a nice touch to dull out the surrounding conversations. Overall, pretty good food but comes at an unjustifiably high price. We feel pretty robbed on leaving this evening. Think the restaurant facilities and procedures need a bit of modernisation.
KJ — Google review
Lovely place. Not an international chain hotel but instead a small family run place with amazing rooms and one serving for dinner. The food is amazing; there is not much choice for dinner but they will go out of their way to meet dietary restrictions. Breakfast is great with plenty of home made options. The location is incredible with views over the beach and to mountains in almost every direction. We had a very happy time there and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Calanais Standing Stones

Mentioned on

Ancient Ruins
The Calanais Standing Stones, situated on the Lewis islands, are a remarkable ancient site with a ring of stones encircling a commanding central monolith. These megalithic ruins predate Stonehenge and were erected over 5000 years ago. They have been used for rituals for more than two millennia and are speculated to have served as an astronomical observatory due to their cross-shaped design.
THE set of standing stones to see! Nice visitors center with café and toilets. Parking can be tricky. Be sure to visit the other three stone circles nearby as well. 👍🏼
Dan Ward — Google review
This is a really awesome place. Very fine example of Standing Stone circle. It's a large area and is only one site among 12 or so sites that are spread around the area, though this is the best one! You cat really come to Lewis and not give this site a visit. There is of course a cafe and gift shop that has some cool stuff. All in all, you will not be disappointed by a visit, esp if you have an interest in this sort of thing.
Gordon MacLeod — Google review
These were so impressive to see in person. Really breath taking. They have cool informational boards to read about it all. I only wish there were some way to protect the land a bit more as when we were there the ground was starting to wash out. A toilet would be nice too.
Alexandra — Google review
Well preserved and free attraction that is worth a visit. Local guard collie appreciates a biscuit and a pat! Visitor center was closed but there is a local information board to give a gist of what the stones represented.
Allan — Google review
The stones are a must see! Easy way to find them with car from Stornoway. Free parking, a little wak up and you are there. Free entrance. Amazing coffee shop with fresh coffee and scones! Very beautiful gifts in the gift shop! Amazing energy of the place!
Stefana Belkovska — Google review
Loved the stones, they felt very spiritual and ethereal in a way especially thinking about the long history and all those who lived before us building and enjoying these stones. The stones themselves are free to go and see, there is a paid option (only £4 pp for adults) to go into a historical information type room if you are keen on learning more about the history and stories behind the stones. The only weird thing for us was that the stones were not located in some rugged remote area. Behind the stones are houses and back yards with washing and normal people things! It was kind of a shock that there was a residential area right amongst the stones, it wasn't quite what we expected! But they were still an awesome thing to come and see nonetheless. Staff at the Cafe and visitor centre were lovely and the toilets were free and clean facilities as well.
Amelia Williams — Google review
Great to visit when it’s quieter. Visitor centre closed for refurbishment. Shop, outdoor cafe truck and toilets closed, check for opening hours. Really dramatic stones with tarmac path up the hill. Narrow gated entrances, restricting access for wheel chairs and buggies
Heather Bell — Google review
If there is one stop to make on the Isle of Lewis & Harris, this is it. I also enjoyed full access to the stones, whereas on Orkney, you have to view the circle from a distance. We arrived at 5:30 after the visitor's center closed, so unfortunately couldn't learn more about the stones. However the upside of arriving late was fewer people and I could take some nice photos of just the stones. Admission is free.
Christopher Herlong — Google review
Anyone who loves standing stones, this is a must. The views from the stones are also lovely. It gets busy and it took a bit of patience to capture a shot without someone in a bright yellow jacket in the way!
Claire Hill — Google review
Whatever was the main reason to erect this standing stones in a such a remote place it is a wonderful feeling to know humans create all this 5000 years ago. Very easy to find with google maps, easy to drive to this place and park, free parking, free entrance and great views. Definitely worth a visit.
Marius Cucuveic? — Google review
In peak season, too many people. Many tourists on holiday allowed their families to climb & hang from the stones. Many others broke pieces of stone away and kept as "souvenirs" (I was surprised and saddened by this). Go when the site 1st opens or late when it is about to close to avoid heavy attendance (don't be fooled by the photos....there were no less than 125 people at this site at the time they were taken....I just timed the photos right and cropped out the people). If you are a Historic Scotland member (for us a VERY wise investment to be a member if you plan to visit many sites), you have free assess to the exhibition (it was very well done with only 4 other people in this area... lovely and quiet).
Lisa Cooper Colvin — Google review
Love going here and great to be able to walk amongst the stones. Dog (on leads)friendly. A lot of renovation of the visitors centre and cafe. Look forward to seeing it when it is finished.
Felicity Goodman — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful, we came here in January and we had it almost all for ourselves, it is really easy to reach and there’s plenty of parking spots. The visitor centre was closed for renovations unfortunately, but I will take it as an excuse to come back, definitely a not to miss attraction!
Valentina Parente — Google review
Beautiful place! Great view. Amazing historical circle of stones. I couldnt believe it will be so big. We arrived at 7 am an we were the first there.

Great place to just chill and relax thinking about it's past.. The visitor centre is very good too with ample parking at the site. If your near, give it a visit, you will not be disappointed.
John Turnbull — Google review
Worth the two-hour ferry over to Isle of Lewis just to see the stones. Free of charge and the place is truly magical.
talia sallem — Google review
I really wish to go back in time and see what exactly the purpose of these rocks is, and I am glad you can go next to them rather than cording off like stonehenge. It's quite a small car park but if you don't find any at the location you can park near a hotel and walk from the hotel hillside.
AZ — Google review
The story and the stones are fascinating. Parking is plentiful and we came in on a backroad to avoid the crowds. Unfortunately, a cruise ship had landed in Stornoway that morning and the area was swarming with people. The day happen to be sunny and we enjoyed our time overall. Definitely worth a visit.
Betta Rautio — Google review
Wow how amazing is this! Slightly busy but we get that because it's such an important heritage sight that why would it not be. Such a wonderfully calm, tranquil place, its so amazing. Well worth a visit and a place I'd be happy to go again.
Scottieboyuk — Google review
This place is one of the Highlights of the Outer Hebrides. The visitor centre is really tastefully designed, tasty dishes at the Cafe with super friendly staff. The film about the stones is worth seeing and provides interesting information. Visiting the ring of stones lifts up the mind, wonderful that unlike stonehenge it is possible to have direct access. We stayed far longer than intended.

The Isle of Harris Distillery is a beautiful distillery with great people. It offers tours of the whisky and gin production process, as well as the chance to taste and buy bottles of gin.
Great distillery tour! Very informative. I also liked the visibility given to the women who work here or are somehow linked to the distillery :)
Thaïs Maisonnet Hitz — Google review
I have not been here, but I must say this: my parents were never big into whiskeys and especially did not favor gins. They visited this place on vacation and they tried and liked the gin. That is impressive. They knew I liked gin, so they brought me a bottle when they returned home. I have tried gins from all over the world. But this gin... I took one sip and had to zone out for a second. It is unspeakably good. It is complex like any good whiskey or wine, you feel and taste the essence of the island. I will be procuring more of Harris Distillery's gin in the future as it is an unforgettable flavor.

Just the most lovely people and what a beautiful distillery! The big open fire is very welcoming and of course the gin is incredible. Thank you Shona & team for hosting our visit.

Nice shop with gin tasting. Whiskey is not yet ready still at 7 years old so a few years to wait before it's bottled and sold. Gin is £40 a bottle and they sell refills in aluminium bottles. They have nice gift sets with matching gin glasses amongst the choices. Very new, clean and friendly staff. There is also a Little coffee shop which also sells a small range of cakes there.

The tour is an absolute must! Everyone is so kind here and knowledgeable.
Sheena Mills — Google review
Great distillery managed by lovely people who welcome you with open arms. We enjoyed our little tour and the tasting during the distilleries part in the whisky trail and spent the whole day in Tarbert. Seeing what the distillery has done and still does for the people was especially nice and i expect great things to come out of it in the future. I knew and loved their gin before and can't wait to taste the Hearach!
HAF Prog — Google review
An interesting and entertaining visit. Easy to book online, has its own car park, friendly helpful people. Tasting of a whisky similar to the hoped-for result of the first malt and of the unflavoured spirit used for the gin (takeaways available for drivers). Good talk about the gin and a visit to the distilling room. OK to take photos. Highly recommended if the subject appeals to you.
Ruth H — Google review
Great distillery tour, I must admit I had no idea it was a whiskey tour or that they just released their own whiskey (harris gin lover here!) but it was a fab tour. Tasting of the new make, whiskey, and then gin was great and it was a really laid back and personal tour which I loved. We bought a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of gin so myself and husband both came away happy! Unreal location and love the community feel of the place.
samantha fraser — Google review
Very informative tour of a great little modern distillery producing both gin and whisky. Gillian our guide was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about both the company and the products. The cost of the tour may seem a little high but it does include 2 whisky tastings and a gin plus some jelly babies! Unfortunately after such a wonderful experience and insight into the company's values we felt we had to buy a bottle of both products 😋
Smiley Bean — Google review
Superb tour by Gillian (probably one of the best distillery tours I have experienced) which really brought alive the character and ethos of the distillery and their whisky and gin which both tasted great. Highly recommended
Andy Saxby — Google review
We booked a distillery tour here, when staying locally in Tarbert for a getaway with friends. The distillery itself is stunning; beautiful decor, lots of natural light and a really cool sitting area with a fire and cool wall decals. The staff were amazing from the get-go. They couldn't have been any friendlier and were really knowledgeable about the distillery and the products within it. The tour was really enjoyable, educational and worthwhile. You even get jellybeans! The tour guide, whose name I have completely forgotten (sorry), was amazing, very well suited to her role with a warm and chatty nature. The shop and cafe are definitely worth a visit too. We were really surprised at how generous the coffee/cake portions are and for a really reasonable price compared to other main tourism stops! Highly recommend a trip here! Keep up the good work team Harris !
Allyson Stewart — Google review
Friendly staff and a nice setup. We felt a little disappointed by the lack of attention given to the Gin. We appreciate it was a path to the whisky for the distillery but like many people we came for the reputation of Gin and it was a couple of minutes at the very end of a tour. I think it will be better once you can taste their own whisky but for sure a generic malt at the start was just a bit lacklustre. For sure, no where near enough attention given to the gin. The tour guide was friendly and passionate though. Free parking adjacent and the building is decorated to a high standard.

Arrived on the day of first sale of the new Harris Whisky. Quite crowded, but well worth it. Whisky tastes brilliant, so I had to get a bottle to take home with me. :)

St Clement's Church : Rodel

Mentioned on
Church
Sights & Landmarks
St. Clement's Church, located in Rodel, is a medieval stone church adorned with sculpted panels on the bell tower and houses the tomb of Alasdair Crotach MacLeod. The church has been well restored and offers visitors an intriguing glimpse into the history of Clan MacLeod and other local people. There is no entry fee to explore this stunning old church which boasts grand coastal scenery. It is definitely worth a visit for those interested in history or architecture while visiting the area.
A very evocative ancient church with some inpressive mediaeval carving just a short drive from the ferry terminal at Leverburgh. If you have time, go past the church on your right, take the left-hand turn which takes you along the windy coastal road past Geocrab - the scenery is stunningly other-worldly.

Uig Sands Restaurant is a gorgeous beachside seafood restaurant located near Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. The restaurant serves fresh, locally caught seafood in a relaxed setting with stunning views of the ocean. The food is British and Scottish, and reservations are recommended for weekend evenings.
Before I start praising the place, which needs to have a Micheline star. An advice, make a booking IN ADVANCE, call or online. The restaurant is busy and worth a separate visit to Uig, Isle of Lewes. Outer Hebrides not Skye. About: stunning ocean views, delicious food, good choice of drinks. It's more or less seafood restaurant, but you have a variety of dishes. Set Menu 3 course cost around 55 £ per person. It sounds expensive but you will feel food taste and enjoy the views, and will say it is worth it . Excellent service and actual internal design. Tried scallops and langoustin, Chef our best compliments, special highlights for deserts. Yammy.

This place should be on every foodies hit list. Simply amazing tasting honest food cooked perfectly and presented well. It won’t be long before the Michelin star is coming for Kenny and his team. I have dined in many Michelin star places recently and this is right up there with them without star prices, just reasonable pricing. Chef Kenny took the time to come and talk to us and had a we chat between service. I am very hard to please and I have no complaints here with anything, other than they really need a tasting menu! Cannot recommended highly enough - you must book and try it. Oh yeah and the view is sublime….. breakfasts and lunches next once it gets a real name for itself but ps please don’t tell anyone …because we will be back!

WHAT. A. PLACE. Booked in for an evening meal to cap off a special holiday. The service was spot on, a warm welcome when we arrived and the food was out of this world. The staff were very accommodating, the location was perfect. It was the best end to our weekend away. We will definitely be back.

I must give both the restaurant and the room that I was staying in during my 2 day visit an outstanding review. The restaurant: The food was delicious with a vegetarian tasting menu that was varied and unique. I only stayed 2 evenings and dined here both nights, with different choices each evening. Very, very good. And the individuals working there were so down to earth and friendly. As a lone traveler, I was treated with as much respect and attention as the table of 8 across the room, even though I obviously would not be spending near the amount of money as they were. Cannot give enough compliments to everyone and everything about my dining experience on both evenings. The room: I was a tiny bit apprehensive when we pulled up and my driver was unloading my luggage. The area is very remote. Which I intentionally booked because of the remote location but REMOTE in this case, is a slight understatement. And, the walk from the accommodations to the restaurant, is a bit longer than anticipated as you must use the road to ensure a safe walk to the restaurant and back, due to the somewhat treacherous landscape surrounding the area. ALL of that said, it was PERFECT. Once I settled into the fact that I could easily and safely walk to the restaurant, by myself, as I was on a solo travel adventure, I relaxed and enjoyed the stunning beauty. There is a little convenience store within walking distance. I did not have a car so I asked my driver to stop so that I could pick ups some treats for breakfast, as well as a bottle of wine. They have many variaties of De-alcoholized wine available. I settled on a delicious bottle of Lindeman's Alcohol Free Semillon Chardonnay, which was quite delicious, and some yummy chocolate chip shortbread cookies and strong coffee for my breakfast. My evenings on the patio, and my breakfasts in the morning were amazing and just what I was desiring and needed. The views, room and amazing stars at night were incomparable. I highly recommend both the rooms and the restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Michelle Heneman — Google review
We dined here last night as an early birthday meal for my husband. The location is stunning and despite the weather, it was still a great and interesting view from the table. The food was probably the best we have eaten all year, the smoked salmon starter was fantastic, the scallops main course on special was phenomenal and the lamb dish also great. Desserts felt a little underwhelming compared to the starters and mains, they were still very good but one complaint would be the popcorn served with the “donuts” was slightly burnt and the taste was then overpowering. Despite this I would still return even at the price of £75pp. I did feel the drinks prices were slightly off, £9.50 for a single gin and bottle of tonic water is very steep, I don’t think the prices should be so high when the meal is already on the pricey side.
samantha fraser — Google review
Delicious meal at the Uig Sands Restaurant. Plenty of choice between the menu and the specials board. They were able to cater for my husband who is a coeliac and the menu was explained to him but to be honest there was not much he couldn't have. Service was very good. Light airy fresh looking restaurant with fantastic views over the beach.

Cannot recommend this fabulous restaurant enough. Stunning menu with incredibly fresh ingredients which were beautifully cooked and very well presented. First class service by a friendly, professional and attentive team. As if that wasn't enough the location is truly out of this world. Breathtaking, mesmerising, gorgeous - I could go on and on. If you are visiting the Isles of Harris and Lewis don't miss the chance to dine at this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

We were in Uig for a wee staycation so popped along to Uig Sands Restaurant for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and the flavours were on point! The service was also fantastic with very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this for a special occasion but is quite pricey otherwise. Bear in mind that you have to purchase the full three courses (currently £75pp). The food is absolutely worth it though!
Marion Murray — Google review
Our dining experience here was superb and the three courses were well worth the price. We chose a bottle of Chablis which perfectly complemented the dishes we ate. The scallop that was part of my starter was the best I've ever tasted and every course was perfection. The pineapple dessert with mini 'doughnuts' was unexpected and divine. Excellent food and wonderful warm, friendly and unpretentious service is one thing, but the sunset view over stunning Uig Sands combined to result in a truly unforgettable meal. 3 courses for us both and a decent bottle of wine came in at £200, which for a special meal whilst on holiday, we thought was well worth it. When we return to Lewis & Harris we'll absolutely dine at Uig Sands Restaurant again.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The view was breathtaking! By far one of the most stunning restaurants I’ve spent time in. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!
Robyn Mackay — Google review
Visited this restaurant with high expectations after reading the glowing reviews. The location, ambience and service were fantastic. However......The food quality ranged from excellent (crab amuse bouche, crab and langoustine starter, deserts) to mediocre. The asparagus spears (starter) and scampi with chips were no better than our local pub, sadly. The cod was served on a corn purée with calamari coated and fried; the corn flavours completely dominated. All other aspects of the meal were good. No Michelin star from us.
Simon Jones — Google review
Fantastic restaurant with stunning views over the estuary. The service was attentive, and the quality of the food was excellent for all of our dishes. But really the stand out feature was the location which really elevated the whole experience.
Andrew John — Google review
The food is secondary to its location and view which is amazing and blows you away. The food was lovely but the view makes it super special. James(?) gave us super service and was lovely to chat to, especially as he came from the potteries originally where we came from, he helped everyone join in with others convos so you were able to make a lovely evening in the company of others (strangers). Everyone must go.

My mum and I had a reservation for dinner tonight. Greeted with a warm welcome. James was our server for the evening, he was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was tremendous, so flavoursome and more-ish! Everything was cooked to perfection. I had the coconut and like doughnuts for desert, which I highly recommend. Wonderful to round off a great evening. The views are stunning also. This place is a gem.

I want to thank all the staff that ensured we had the most special time at Uig Sands. I had just proposed to my fiance about an hour before arriving and they couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Great all round experience. Great views from our table seat in the window (despite the rain!). We had three courses - Razor Clams were excellent, the tandoori monkfish with salt and pepper langoustine was excellent and the parfait for dessert was great too. The Wild Eve non alcoholic spirit with soda is good for drivers too. Excellent all round experience and price is fair given location, quality of food and current climate. Would recommend

Tasting of the new make, whiskey, and then gin was great and it was a really laid back and personal tour which I loved. We bought a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of gin so myself and husband both came away happy! Unreal location and love the community feel of the place.

Superb tour by Gillian (probably one of the best distillery tours I have experienced) which really brought alive the character and ethos of the distillery and their whisky and gin which both tasted great. Highly recommended

Good set lunch menu. Quite fancy food so not ideal if you're after a good feed. Food was imaginative and tasty and decent coffee. No syrups though. Was busy as soon as it opened so would book if possible, I imagine dinner would be busier also. Lovely staff :)

After looking for a place to eat in Stornoway that was nicer than your standard fish and chips this place did not disappoint. We visited on a Monday night and managed to book the last table available. Beautiful service and lovely food. The cocktails were a lovely touch too! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the island. We can't wait to come back to visit again!

The food here was excellent. The starters were very tasty and the mains equally so. The dessert wasn't quite up to the same standard but still pretty decent. Unfortunately the service let the whole experience down. While seated quicky we had to ask for the bread that all other customers were served and the water which we had previously requested. All aspects of the service were very slow. Sometimes it is nice to be given some time between courses as in Edinburgh your often rushed. 3 hours before entering and leaving was just to much though. Would I go here again? Absolutely.

The Blue Lobster Cafe in Stornaway is an excellent coffee and cake shop, with friendly staff. It has a great location overlooking the harbour and Castle Grounds, and also sells souvenirs and other items.
Lovely coffee and really nice bunch of staff, very smiley and attentive. The coffee shop is well located in the centre and there’s parking just outside.

Lovely small café and shop by the harbour, they only sold drinks and cake when we visited in November, hot chocolate and carrot cake tasted great.

LOVE The Blue Lobster. Great coffee and a really good selection of cakes. I sit outside with my black Lab, Jenny, who enjoys watching the world go by and hopes for some cake crumbs! Lovely owner and staff too!

What a lovely place, really was. Really well decorated inside, looks brilliant but, today, it's all about the weather and outside. Man, it was hot but the Blue Lodster has a great sitting area outside. Lovely, friendly staff served us, coffee and cake, all round and some treats for our dog 🐕 Lovely 👌

Absolutely fantastic coffee shop in Stornaway - amazing coffee and cakes in a great setting, exactly what we were hoping to find on the Isle of Lewis. Staff super friendly - recognised us from the day before and happy to help. Also has a selection of things to buy from mugs to art to greetings cards.

I visited here 2 years ago when visiting the Isle of Lewis for the first time and I remembered their oat chai latte was the best I'd ever had. Popped back again yesterday and sure enough the chai latte was as amazing as I remembered. I even made my boyfriend try one and he was blown away too 😂 The staff here are absolutely lovely and I love the little cafe shop and the atmosphere here!

Pleasant surroundings & ambiance with a view out over harbour. Great coffee ☕ nice selection of cakes/scones, indoor & outdoor seating. Takeaway also available.

The cakes were great and the cappucino delicious! Almost marshmallowy froth on the cappucino, mmm 😋 the staff were friendly and patient when we popped in and out trying to decide on a place for coffee! Glad we chose here 😀

Well after reading all these fantastic reviews we were looking forward to experiencing all the cafe had to offer. When we turned up they were busy which is always a good sign. I asked if they would keep us a table. Yes for 2pm? Is it the round table for 4 people you want? Well there are five of us? We left to wait outside in the rain to decide what we would do for next 25mins and the assistant came out and said we can't serve 5 sorry. Bye. Unbelievable!! Oh and one of us was on crutches... not impressed!!!

A charming little coffee shop with some indoor and outdoor seats and a small shop. We only stopped in for a little while but the staff were lovely and the tea and coffee were really nice. They had a great selection of cakes and milkshakes too but sadly we didn't have time to try any of those - next time!

Great Coffee! Basic coffee shop, with cakes but limited food offering. No customer toilets. Very nice outdoor seating area overlooking harbour. Nice inside space too.
Glen Graydon — Google review
My new go to place for coffee! I love the different seating options if you need to work, or relax in a comfortable chair. There is also an outside seating area by the harbour which is rare in Stornoway. There are a variety of cakes on sale, and also gift items for sale. The shop offers a range of other drinks including milkshakes, iced drinks etc The staff are friendly and cheerful. I highly recommend a visit!

The Boatshed Restaurant in the Royal Hotel provides delicious food for a special treat (evening meal). The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere with high ceilings and an open fire in the grate. The menu features British and European cuisine, as well as Scottish dishes. There is also a full bar and free wifi.
Lovely restaurant in Stornoway. We ordered mussels and seafood tom yum pot, serving portion and taste is good as well as the customer service. Generous dessert portion too, 1 order can definitely be shared by 2 person. Definitely well recommended.

We enjoyed our dinner so much we are heading there again! The team accommodated us early which was lovely as we were quite hungry. Nathan was brilliantly attentive and provided stellar service. The food!!! We had the goat cheese salad, the leek soup, and the salmon roll… all of it delicious. Enjoy!
Vicki Ryan — Google review
Lovely food, great atmosphere, attentive staff. Starter muscles were great- huge mussels, great money for value. Same goes for salmon main. The “tom yum mixed seafood pot” was a bit disappointing, it was tasty enough (very loosely tasted like tom yum soup), seafood was cooked well and nothing was over cooked, however not a lot of seafood for £29 (10-15 medium-sized mussels, 1 scallop, 2 pieces of 2x3 inch monk fish). Would go again, would just avoid ordering the seafood pot.

Lovely food (all reasonably priced) and good service. Visited twice during our stay in Lewis. Booking is recommended even in the low season.

Had an excellent meal in the Boatshed on a Friday evening. Service was fast and helpful, whilst offering a really good choice right across the menu. The portions were generous and very tasty. It was also sufficiently busy to generate a relaxed atmosphere and on a cold and blustery evening outside, it was also nice and cosy inside. Highly recommended.

Food and service were both excellent! We shared the Tower of Charles Macleod Haggis and Black Pudding appetizer and it was beautifully plated and wonderfully flavorful I had the salmon spiral for my main which was delicious. The raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake with fresh cream was quite the treat as well!

Had The seafood hot pot type thing. Lovely but have removed some ingredients and the actual food you get is not worth the price tag at all. Less than 100grms of meat/fish/shellfish. Staff didn't seem to bothered when I mentioned just said " dish has been degraded". Better places will open in time.

Nicely presented good, but the cooking wasn’t up to the looks. My langoustine was watery (boiled too long?) and the salad hasn’t been spun dry and only had a hint of dressing. I asked the waiter for some oil, “olive oil” he asked. But when it came it was plain cooking oil in a fancy tumbler. So presentation top, but taste less than average. The waiters were enjoying themselves so nothing to fault there.

Polite and friendly. Good food. Not a cheap meal though but we'll sourced. Loved my Thai seafood bowl with rice. Great chips too.

Highly recommend. We really enjoyed a Friday night dinner. While it was great to see the restaurant was busy the service was quick, friendly and efficient. All of the staff were welcoming and ensured that we had everything that we wanted. Importantly our dinner was piping hot and served on warm crockery and the red wine was at the correct temperature. The venison soup and main were to die for. A must.
