Tignes

Tignes is a group of villages that form a high-altitude ski resort in the French Alps, near the Italian border. With nearby Val d’Isère, it’s part of the Espace Killy ski area, linked by a network of lifts. Val Claret and Tignes Le Lac villages are lively hubs, with restaurants and shops. In summer, the area offers trails, golf and a bike park, plus ski runs on the Grande Motte glacier.

Ultimate Snowsports Ski School offers exceptional ski lessons in the Alps, with skilled instructors who provide expert guidance to help skiers improve their technique and confidence. Private lessons are available for all types of terrain, including crud, moguls, and off-piste areas. The instructors go above and beyond to find the best snow conditions and offer useful tips that leave skiers feeling more confident after just a few hours of instruction.
This is the 3rd time we have used Ultimate Snowsports and in part the quality of the lessons is what has persuaded us to come back to Tignes for several years on the run. This year our 3 teenagers had great fun exploring the mountain with Tom while for the 3rd year running my husband and myself had a couple of excellent lessons with Mike who is as always extremely patient while gently pushing us out of our comfort zone and improving our technique. They are without a doubt the best ski lesson company we have found over the years of different resorts. Thank you Ultimate, we hope to see you next year.

Probably the best lesson I've had in the Alps. In a few private lessons with Tom, he helped to improve my confidence and technique in all types of terrain (crud, moguls, off-piste) and even got me landing spins. Highly recommend!

We had the best time with our instructor Mike! He was very patient, immediately understood what we wanted to achieve and accommodated our different levels of experience. We both felt that we made significant improvements and had an overwhelmingly positive experience. We couldn't recommend more and hope to return next year!

Simply Superb I booked Ultimate in 2021 during the pandemic based on the reviews here and could not have been more happy that I did - they were superb throughout. Matt was responsive and helpful all the way through the process, even when various government restrictions meant that it was a distinct possibility that we wouldn’t be allowed to travel. Matt kept in regular contact throughout and was happy to offer a Covid policy refund when it looked like we wouldn’t be able to go (thankfully it wasn’t needed in the end). I booked 3 hour private snowboard lessons with James over 10 days for my two young sons (8 & 7 years old), both of who had minimal experience of snowboarding (just a few hours in UK snowdomes) and could not have been happier with the result. James was professional, punctual, calm, friendly and encouraging throughout, and had them both carving happily down red runs in both Val d’Isere and Tignes within a couple of days. James emphasized safety and control on their boards whilst still making all their lessons an enormous amount of fun - both had done skiing lessons with other schools before and not had even close to the amount of enthusiasm for their lessons that they had with James. It also meant that they were both able to come snowboarding with my wife and I easily in the afternoons as well. Massive thanks to both James and Matt for helping to make it such a fun and smooth holiday for all of us. I’m not one to normally write reviews, but this was fully deserved. Don’t hesitate, book them now - you won’t regret it.

I found these guys by accident back in 2017 and used them for some one to one pre season instruction for my 6 year old. So 7 years on my little boy has grown up with Tom and Mike, he’s skied with them every year since bar one and his skiing is amazing now, it’s all down to Tom and Mike. The instruction is second to none, they combine all of the great tips to keep them improving but most importantly they have a laugh and keep it fun. They are simply brilliant with the kids, genuinely. My son comes back full of smiles every day. For balance the one year we used a French school and my son hated it, no laughing no fun, no banter, nothing in common and the usual language problems. It’s sounds like a cliche but don’t look anywhere else if you need ski lessons in Tignes.

We have used Ultimate Snow Sports for the last 3 years for our 2 sons and after each lesson with Tom the improvement in their skiing ability was amazing.

Brilliant. I was taught by Gregor. He was the perfect balance of calm, patient and kind, yet persistent, detailed and challenging. My skiing came on massively in 4 days and my confidence also hugely improved. By the end of the sessions I was exploring the mountain with my family, delighted to have crossed paths with this company and their lovely team. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Ultimate , my 13yrs and 10yrs old enjoyed a lot their classes now in February 23 Half Term. We had some bad experiences before with the bigger schools where they didn't learn anything so this year we decided to go for a smaller school and I am so pleased we did. My youngest could confidently ski by the end of the week, the difference is so impressive. Last year he was so scared and couldn't understand anything the instructor said, while this year we did reds and even a black together. Their technique improved so much and the best part is that they had fun. Both Mike and Gregor were lovely and very attentive. My eldest had a bad ski fall before he started the week so he missed day one, they were very good checking how he was and Gregor gave me a lot of confidence that he knew how to keep an eye on him. (Obviously it goes without saying the doctor gave the thumbs up for him to ski too after we had him on rest for 24hrs prior to the class). Lala has also been great . She gave me a call the day before to check how he was and was always very responsive to all my questions when I was still booking the classes. I wish there were more schools like them.
Andrea Harvey — Google review
We had a fabulous lesson with Matt last week- the best lesson we'd had for a long time, and much needed, not having skied for quite a while due to the pandemic. He found the best snow conditions and gave us some very useful tips, generally making us feel much more confident at the end of our 2.5 hours. Would definitely recommend.

How do you know who's great at teaching your kids to ski? Of course anyone who puts their kids in with any company will say they are great, so I can only comment as follows: Great communication Really positive, friendly (and patient looking after 7 year olds) instructors Small Groups - only 3 for my twins, so virtually private Group, and their max size is 6 When mentioned amongst those I met in Tignes, Ben and the Companies instructors were highly respected - see Ben's bio for example! And most importantly, did they learn to ski? From a few basic lessons at the Snow Dome, I was skiing with them on the Green runs above Val from day 3 and only Blues day 5... Day 6 they were seeking out the lips at the edge of the Gratallu piste jumping to woops of delight... If that's not perfect, i can't imagine it getting any better. Already planning the next trip...

Tignes is a renowned ski resort with excellent skiing facilities and easy access to nearby resorts and amenities through reliable public transportation links. It features a funicular that takes visitors to a massive ski area, along with various options for eateries, hotels, shops, and even a lagoon. The ski area provides ample snow cover even in April, ensuring enjoyable skiing experiences for visitors of all skill levels. However, there are some outdated ski lifts that need replacing to improve the overall impression of the resort.
For the fourth time in this ski resort. Always plenty of snow, always nice weather !!! A place to return to. Remark, to replace a couple of old ski lifts which still spoils the impression a bit.
Marko Markovic — Google review
Having been to the relatively nearby Les Trois Vallées, I can say Tignes is comparable in many ways and offering a ski experience on par with its more premium cousin. The resort boasts a large piste playground stretching over several key areas from the family-friendly Tignes (Le Lac, Val Claret, 1800) to the more advanced terrain of Val d'Isère with a wide range of pistes for different skill levels. Runs are great as they're groomed daily and the slopes receive tons of powder. Weather conditions can vary drastically throughout the week but we experienced some of the best conditions during our time with lots of bluebird days. And just as you think the snow's getting a little packed, fresh snow gets dumped to refresh the pistes. The resort is generally well-connected, allowing you to easily reach new areas to explore - otherwise, they have frequent shuttle buses that go between major stops around the resort. The town is very walkable and has a decent range of dining options both on and off piste throughout the day and to kick back après ski. Overall, it's a great resort with lots to offer for beginners and experts alike!

A wonderful ski station with fantastic views and an enormous number of slopes for all levels. Also there are plenty of activities to do apart from skiing and a good infrastructure. Tignes application is very useful. I highly recommend Tignes as a ski resort !

Direct access to slopes to a very large ski domein, a lot of snow, skiers are civilized, good to exquisite food on the restaurants. The landscape is spectacular. Hotels are in the architecture of the 80's but modernised will all necessary confort. Due to the attitude may be foggy and cold to frozen! Speak French, locals will appreciate it!

I recently had the opportunity to take private snowboarding lessons with Freedom Snowboarding in Val D'Isere, and I was genuinely impressed. From the initial contact until the actual coaching sessions, Freedom Snowboarding provided a top-notch service. The instructor, Jay, is an outstanding coach who truly has a passion for teaching snowboarding. Under Jay's guidance, I progressed from being a beginner to confidently riding challenging slopes and even tackling the terrain park.
Jay is an amazing coach and is the best one who has tort me and my son. He enjoyed it so much and was very sad when it was over. He could not turn at all and after jays lesion he could turn way better. We would highly recommend jay and his team to anyone

Review: Jay from Freedom Snowboarding I recently had the pleasure of taking some snowboarding lessons with Jay from Freedom Snowboarding in Tignes, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Jay's expertise and professionalism truly set him apart as one of the top instructors in the region. It was evident that he possesses a wealth of knowledge and skill when it comes to snowboarding. His passion for the sport is contagious, and his years of experience shine through in every lesson. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced rider looking to fine-tune your technique, Jay has a knack for tailoring his instruction to suit your every individual needs and abilities. What impressed me most about Jay was his unwavering dedication to your progress and safety. He took the time to thoroughly assess abilities and goals before customising a lesson plan that would help achieve them. Throughout each session, he provided clear and constructive feedback, helping to improve my technique and build confidence on the slopes. Beyond his technical expertise, Jay's professionalism was truly commendable. He was always punctual, well-prepared, and approachable, making everything a comfortable and enjoyable experience. His friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for teaching made me feel at ease, even when tackling some challenging off-piste terrain. Overall, I cannot recommend Jay from Freedom Snowboarding highly enough. Whether you're a novice looking to master the basics or a seasoned rider seeking to take your skills to the next level, Jay's expertise and professionalism make him the ideal instructor. If you find yourself in Tignes, or surrounding area,, don't hesitate to book a lesson with him—you won't be disappointed!

Literally cannot fault Jay & the team at Freedom. I've been to the performance camp for 2 years running now. Jay is an extremely talented boarder on and of piste and his BASI lvl 4 is testimony to that. He is able to help in any area you need to improve. I signed up for the camp to snowboard in a group as a solo traveller and came away a better boarder and made some great new friends too. Even if the members of the camp have different things they wish to focus on, Jay will put the time in to make sure that all styles of boarding are catered for and everyone has something to work on. Can't fault Freedom. The camp is great value for money too. I'll be back.

I booked two private lessons while on holiday in Tignes. Jay is such a great instructor! He is patient and calm, even when I was flapping during white out conditions! He encouraged me to be a lot braver and I’m really grateful for the confidence and knowledge I gained. 100% recommend!

Amazing experience! First time on a snowboard and on Day 2 I was already managing turns and going down a long blue run. Jay is an unbelievable instructor - so patient and super friendly. I recently had two private lessons with Jay from Freedom Snowboarding out of Val D'Isere and was definitely impressed. From the initial contact through to the delivery of the coaching sessions, Freedom Snowboarding delivered a high quality service. Jay is an excellent coach, and is truly passionate about teaching others to snowboard. Jay took me from a beginner level to the point where I could confidently ride red runs, and hit the terrain park. Jay's knowledge of snowboarding is excellent, and he was able to explain everything to me in a practical way. I can't recommend Freedom Snowboarding highly enough. The lessons with Jay allowed me to enjoy my holiday with the confidence to ride all runs with my friends. I can't wait to get back out riding with Jay for another week soon!.

I had an incredible lesson with Jay! My second day on a snowboard and he had me doing 360s (I tried anyway..). Jay was lovely, so patient and a great instructor. Couldn’t recommend Freedom more!
Lydia Easun — Google review
Had an incredible week, can't recommend Freedom Snowboarding enough! There had not been fresh snow in tignes for a couple of weeks, but Jay took us splitboarding and still found us some powder turns! He also hugely improved my riding on piste around resort and helped me get rid of some bad habits. Thanks Jay!
Ollie Davison — Google review
My first lesson with Jay was back in 2019, and he had managed to inspire me to the point I wanted to become a snowboard instructor myself. Since then, he has supported me with more lessons and the training needed for succeeding at my courses and getting my qualifications. I would highly recommend Freedom Snowboarding, no matter what level you’re at!
Luquee Saraza — Google review
Booking process was extremely straight forward and Jay was very accommodating when I needed to swap my lesson time last minute. Jay boosted my confidence massively and gave me a new love for snowboarding, he met me at a location that was convenient for me and took me to meet my friends at the end of my lesson which was perfect! 100% would recommend!

Jay’s been coaching me for years. He’s helped my riding improve massively and started me on my competitive freeride journey.

Great, clear and easy communication during the whole booking process. Booked two days of guided split boarding. Jay was really knowledgeable and very passionate about what he does. We loved it and will definitely book with Freedom Snowboarding again! Highly recommend!
Gemma Thompson — Google review
Jay has helped both my son and I progress our snowboarding beyond our expectations. His clear instructions make it really easy to improve and gave me a lot more confidence to tackle slopes I was previously nervous on. And for my son, he has taken him through snowparks and onwards to big off-pistes, guiding and pushing him to progress in Freeride. Jay is a great coach from beginners all the way to budding Freeride competitors. It's almost annoying that he's then a really nice guy too!!! You'll be in safe hands.

I was only interested in swimming pool, so haven’t checked any other stuff they have. The pool is 25 m, part with lines and 2 m deep and part with decks reducing the depth. The pool is very clean and nice, I was told it gets busier from 4 pm, I was there at 3 and there was only a couple of people. The lockers operate with the password you set up yourself, so you don’t need coins. As others mentioned the pool is free if you have an active ski pass

The pool gets busy after 4pm. Before then it's very pleasant. I was impressed by the gym facilities. Nice selection of free weights, machines, treadmills and spinning bikes. you can either pay per session (10EUR) or sign up for the full week. Towels and trainers are also available at the front desk if needed. It's best to go before 3pm after which it can get a little busier.

Ok for an afternoon if ski conditions aren't great. Free entry with the ski pass and buses run frequently from Val Claret, though could walk to it too. Water seemed on the cool side but we were talking to a lady who said the temp does vary. Clean and like the cubicles as you go in and come out the other side to get to the pool. Hangers thar fit neatly into lockers so you don't need to crumple clothes into a bag...

Nice little swimming pool complex. Got in free with lift pass. Lane swimming pool plus "fun pool" plus slide. It appears you don't even have to wear "budgie smugglers".
Clive F — Google review
Although it’s a big aquatic centre, the swimming pool is only 5 lanes and packed even during mid season. Spa (also called Wellness) is nice, and Turkish hammam is definitely worth of a visit, there are also 3 saunas and 5 or 6 jacuzzi. Don’t miss their tea-room with beautiful view to the mountains!
Victor Perov — Google review
Very good spa. It would be 5 stat review. But someone opened the locked locker, had time to steal everything non gps trackable and left things back as if nothing happened. Even locked the locker. Password was not easy... Zero security... What's the point if you have a good time and you end up without your official papers, your wallet...

The pool is great nice showers and changing area, with lockers that are free, but didn’t manage to get into the gym, need specific shoes which I don’t have and are to hard to get in tignes
tom taylor — Google review
Such a great facility, pool gets a little crowded at times but that’s normal in a busy resort. The gym and spa area are also very good, really good equipment and space. The annoying thing is, it doesn’t open until 11am, of all the fitness enthusiasts, athletes and gym goers I know, every single one of them does some sort of training in the morning before their full day begins. I’ve never seen a centre like this open so late.

+ nice saunas/ hot tubes/ scenic views of mountains + nice person by the reception - I’d wanted to put 3* because of the very inconvenient dressing rooms. I had to put my boots together with all my clothes in one small closet( maybe 40x70cm?) Walking around with naked feet is not just unusual in such places but also not hygienic. - and getting in and out the centre for my grandma would be impossible (snowy, icy hill, not normal clean pedestrian road). Place with a good potential

We had an unbelievably fun time Snowtubing in Tignes Val Claret! Romain was a brilliant staff member, working tirelessly and always with a smile on his face to send us all spinning down the slope laughing and screaming! 🙌🏻 We are a group of 7 24-year-olds and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip! Good fun. The magic carpet is convenient and the slope fast and gets your stomach in your mouth! One of the staff member’s dogs was chasing the tubes down the hill, barking at them, which could be off putting for some. The manager seemed to sort it out quickly. At one point they didn’t allow some children to clear the end before launching the next person off, which seemed concerning.

The French restaurant La Ferme des 3 Capucines has a warm and atmospheric atmosphere, excellent food (recommended by Michelin), and reasonable prices. It is best to book it in advance as the restaurant is popular. The cheese raclette was good, but I wouldn't recommend the fondue if you're familiar with Swiss fondue.
Local made cheese, raclette was good, I wouldn't go for the fondue if you know what a Swiss fondue is.

Brilliant restaurant. We went as a walk-in table of two - the place had a great atmosphere, the staff were friendly (and forgiving of our utterly terrible french) and the food was delicious. Definitely a place to go when in Tignes but I'd recommend a reservation as they had to squeeze is in and we had to give up the table at a certain time (although they made us fully aware of this when we asked if there was a spare table). Other fun notes, the decor was great (there was a fire, which was a nice touch) and as the menu was in french, it was something of a lottery as to what the food was (we were helped by Google and the waitress giving a broad idea - i.e. pig). What's more, it seemed good value considering how much a salad or sandwich can be up the mountain!
James Wilson — Google review
A great place for some local French food. The atmosphere is great and in the summers you can see the dairy goats through the window in the main dining room. We had a party of 9 and started with the escargot and bone marrow. For mains we got raclette, fondue, the cheese thing with the bacon and potatoes and cote de boef with frites. We mowed it all down expeditiously. Highlights were the escargot and raclette although the fondue and steak were great as well. Just prepare yourselves for a gassy night/next day!

I loved everything about it. Super cute, delicious food. Everything we ordered was amazing. They need to hire one more server considering how crowded the place gets and waiters were constantly running but still not enough to cater all tables in a timely manner. Highly recommend.
Valentín Aseyo — Google review
Beautiful spot but a little underwhelmed by both the food and service. Croziflette was fine, but nothing special. Veal was a kind of broth, which again wasn't anything to write home about. We ordered cured meats which didn't arrive. No one checked on the table, no one asked if we wanted more drinks so I'd consider the service average at best. Prices were OK compared to other spots in town.
Andrew Dawson — Google review
Great experience. We visited the restaurant for a dinner. Very emotional atmosphere and of course excellent cuisine (recommended by Michelin). For the start we took escargots and trout in teriyaki sauce, the main: trout and duck. For 2 persons with a bottle of white wine just 80eur. The price is more then reasonable. You need to book it very in advance. Recommend!

We went twice to this restaurant during one week in Tignes. The reason was to give a second chance after the first dinner, which was a bit of a strange surprise. Overall, the place looks very nice, cozy, very mountain style. We truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The service is very good with friendly and polite waiters. In principle, the menu offers a good variety of local traditional options. So everything seems to start with the right approach. Unfortunately the most expensive courses are very disappointing. The first time we tried the Raclette and it was surprisingly tasteless. Kilos of cheese melted for you, but absolutely no taste. An indication of very poor selection of cheese. As said, we decided to give it a second chance and we went there again a few nights later. We said, rating is high, maybe we were not lucky... So we went back and tried the Fondue and the Cote de Beuf. The Fondue was horrible, tasteless and the cheese separated from the serum and it was absolutely without any flavour. Extremely disappointing and again indicating a poor selection ingredients. Fortunately the Cote de Beuf was okay. Nothing spectacular but good. This place remains a good option in case you are in Tignes but don’t expect nothing near to the rating. It’s nice and cozy and with price aligned to the others (€50-ish pp).

Le Panoramic, a restaurant located at an elevation of 3,032m on the Grande Motte funicular in Tignes, is known for its unique decor featuring sheepskin rugs as chair covers and curtains. The renowned chef Jean-Michel Bouvier oversees the culinary creations here, while his son Clement Bouvier manages Ursus at Hotel Les Suites in town.
This is the best restaurant in Tignes hands down. The food taste and quality was unbelievable. We took a starter of Scallops which had a Jerusalem Artichoke puree in a shell and the scallops were grilled perfectly in a wood oven. Then for the main course we took the barbecue pork ribs and lamb which came with a mashed potato and special lettuce salad which were all just perfect. For the dessert we took the ice cream with Alcohol. The alcohol was not for us at the end, as well as the raspberry ice cream, but the vanilla one was 10/10 with real vanilla beans and made in-house. The winery selection is huge and you can consult with a patient waitress about winery pairing. We let her choose us a wine and it was great. Service in general is above and beyond in this restaurant. We left the restaurant at its closing and skied down almost alone all the way to Val Claret on a well maintained wide red slope. The restaurant can be visited also without skiing at all through the Glacier train lift. Be sure to book a table in advanced because the restaurant is usually full. This is a must try for anyone who visit Tignes.

Both the service and food are very disappointing. Had lunch there today. Asked one of the stuff if frois gras terrain is a hot dish and he said yes. I ordered it but it come as a cold dish. I complained and asked for an exchange. They left the cold dish on our table and brought the one I wanted to exchange but in the end charged us for both dishes. Ever The lamb shoulder, the sorloin, bone marrow, eggs and fois gras, fois gras terrain are all very average. The price is outrageous for the quality of their food. Can’t hate the experience more🤮

One of the best restaurants in the French Alps. Bone marrow was delicious. Their wine list is outstanding too.

We came up for the dinner service and what an experience! While you do have to take the train up, you can ski down which is pretty cool. We had some pate sandwiches to start and a salmon cracker as well as a soup. While the sandwiches and soup were somewhat disappointing, the pork definitely was not. It was probably the best pork I’ve ever had in my life. The salmon starter was also quite nice. Desert featured a serve yourself bar and the marshmallows and peanut puff were the standouts.

Beautiful place with great atmosphere, food was delicious, and the 3x dessert option with extras makes you feel like a kid again! Will definitely return.

Difficult to get to (when runs are closed) we went off piste and it was well worth the heart in mouth moments. Sadly the restaurant was full but the cafe was fully loaded and nicely presented. Carafes of wine, dishes to suit all appetites and desserts that wouldn’t look out of place in a patisserie. We had bolognaise and the burger, if you I wish to dine in the restaurant I’d advice booking via the website and toilet is 50c

Conveniently located at the exit of the funicular, with spectacular views of the mountain tops @ 3000+ m altitude; has self-help canteen part with mains like chicken, pork, pizzas, pastas, burgers, tempting desserts; self-help wine like Merlot, Chardonnay from the barrels; warm & cosy deco inside; outside seats where you can enjoy the views on sunny days☃️🍷🍪Battalion suggestion: not sure if they do now already, but good if they can provide free toilets

A surprising restaurant above clouds, located at... 3.000 m. With a exquisite cuisine based mainly on beef, Le Panoramique is the right place to fulfill a ski day. Reachable both on ski or boots, you will be welcomed with a pear of foozy sleepers only for your comfort. Many thanks for the personnel, kind, helpful, fast, marking the dinner very pleasant. Special thanks to our lovely waitress from Normandy :-) pay attention: no parking place available (joke)! :-)))

Restaurant like no other ! At 3300 meter altitude sitting on the Glacier in Tignes this is welcome break spot for both skiers and walkers exploring the heights at Tignes! you will need a walking pass or a ski pass to here on the short altitude experience funicular train .

Most incredible restaurant in the whole resort. A stunning, stunning interior with a beautiful view. We were given fluffy slippers to put on which was so lovely. Service was great, the staff went above and beyond to welcome us, and the food came very quickly. The open kitchen was a nice touch! The food was incredible, we ordered the ribs and gnocchi and both were great. The dessert buffet was also a highlight. Would highly recommend.

If you're willing to make the trip up via funicular to this restaurant, you won't be disappointed by the views and the chews. Sitting near the top of La Grande Motte, it boasts spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and overlooking Val Claret just below. They offer something more of a premium dining experience both for their sit-down and cafeteria sections with a price to match. That being said, the food is indeed noticeably of a higher standard with freshly cooked mains and mouthwatering desserts on display. The interior is tastefully done with a real alpine cabin atmosphere and nicely set tables to complete the elevated dining experience.

Top restaurant! Wonderful experience! You should try the beef prepared in the wood fireplace! The wine list is fantastic , you should try the scallops as an entrée ( noix de Saint Jaques) or/and terrine!
Leonardo Duarte — Google review
The meal was absolute perfection. Everything we had was incredible. The service was pretty good. The only negative was their poor dessert buffet. Everything was way too sweet. Blueberry pie was just filled with sugar so were the other options. Thank god we were very full anyways. They give you slippers, which is a nice touch.

Le Couloir Bar & Restaurant is a lively slope-side establishment that offers a vibrant atmosphere and refined French fusion cuisine. It is widely regarded as the best bar in Tignes, known for its extensive selection of wine, cocktails, and discounted drinks during certain hours. In addition to its impressive drink offerings, Le Couloir Bar also stands out for being one of the few places in town that shows sports on TV in the evenings.
Lovely apres ski with half price beers. Food is alpine pub grub.
Chris Tomlin — Google review
Great pub for apres ski, especially for the Brits! Live music, reasonably priced drinks and food looked fresh. Prices vary considerably for a diet coke... Best price for 2 prosecco at €12 during happy hour..m became our go to. Staff pleasant and friendly unlike other bars...
Amanda Montford — Google review
This is the best place to watch footy as there are TVs around the bar and happy hour is currently 2 beers for 8 Euros until 7pm. Also prosecco on happy hour. Watched the Chelsea vs Liverpool Carabao Cup final here and it was great!

Starters were good (especially the Camembert), however the service was rather slow. Took over an hour to bring food after the drinks, even though we were the first group in the restaurant area upstairs. As for the burgers, 5/7 in our group found several pieces some cartilage in the bacon.

Best bar I've found in Tignes. 2 for €8 on Grolsch, Prosecco & Vin Chaud between 1600 - 1900 hrs. Atmosphere - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (later in the evening, one of the few bars to show sport on TV). Food - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (try the Après Camembert......just what's needed after a day on the slopes!) Last but not least the Staff - they are all Amazing!!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In a lot of venues around here I've felt like I'm not welcome, however from the second we walked into Couloir both me and my ski students felt both welcome and well looked after by all the staff! Crossing everything I get to teach on another course here next season because I want wait to come back to Le Couloir Bar to see you again! (you have my permission to ban me from late night Espresso Martinis next time 😂)

Food was really nice, with big portions which is much needed after a day of skiing! I’d recommend the burger. Not too expensive either and the waiting staff were really lovely and helpful.

Lo Soli - L'Alpage des Chaudannes is a delightful chalet-style restaurant situated atop the Chaudannes chairlift on L'Aiguille Percee. With its charming exposed stone walls, wooden beams, and cozy log fire, it offers a gourmet menu that is truly outstanding. The restaurant boasts a lovely sun terrace which provides breathtaking views of the Grand Motte glacier. For those eager to hit the slopes again quickly, there is also a convenient self-service area available.
One of the best restaurants that we tasted this week! The beef was excellent! The wine list is good in relation to price and quality. I recommend stopping there for lunch before/after your ski session.
Leonardo Duarte — Google review
The view here is great and you can also soak up the sun. We ate at the restaurant part but there is also a take away. The meals aren't cheap but they are very good. I ordered the soli burger meal and you get a lot of food (lots of salad, fries/chips and a big burger). The taste of the whole meal especially the burger was great too
Richard Baljeu — Google review
Lovely place for a midday meal on the slopes. The restaurant is easily accessible from the main lifts from the Lac area and boasts gorgeous views overlooking Val Claret as well. The restaurant offers both sit down and cafeteria style dining options to fit your budget and preference. They're well known for their large generously-filled omelettes though they do offer an extensive menu that should offer something for everyone. The food is pretty good and portions are generous which is really great value and a way to fuel you for the rest of the day on the slopes. PS. The salad is an absolute unit and can definitely be a meal on its own!

Fantastic find on the mountain, the best food we had all week, either on the mountain, or in the village. Excellent attentive service, shame we didn't find it earlier in our holiday! 😃

Brilliant little restaurant, not cheap but good service, great food and really friendly staff. Only negative is the long queue to order, but if you’re not in a rush it’s no problem.

Dessert are good here. Chicken drumstick is also good. The vegetable soup is amazing. Tiramisu is also nice. If you sit outside, they have a very nice view of the mountains and pistes. There is a long queue when we were there for lunch. Took a while to get the food.

Ok stop. Bogs down stairs, pretty sure someone had died in the ladies, the smell was badddd. Prices tho not cheap, were not stupid. Food looked Ok. Nice place to sit outside.

I don’t like sharing negative reviews however this must be the most horrendous lunch experience ever. The lady, waitress, blonde hair, short needs to get some manners as well as basic customer service skills. She was extremely rude, despite many empty chairs said we can’t add 2 more chairs. We asked for the bill around 5 times with no luck and when I said when are you bringing it she gave me a dirty look and said ‘go and pay inside’. Management needs to act on her if they want more people coming to this place because we certainly wouldn’t. Food was good. Views were excellent.
Vasila Mehtiyeva — Google review
I was here today and they tried scamming me. When ordering a pitcher beer, I overheard the two bartenders speaking French. I understood that the first bartender checked if the price was 32€, then another blonde bartender urged her colleague to change this to 39€. I thought nothing of it and paid. Later when we wanted the food and drinks menu, I saw that the price for a pitcher was 32€. I went to the bar to ask what had happened and they were not even surprised, another bartender just handed me the 7€ without even checking what had happened. The way they acted made me feel as though this was a regular scam for tourists. Would not recommend this place if you are not French because they will try to scam you.

Great place to stop and rest! Lots of fresh food and alcohol. Great views of the surrounding area! On a snowy sunny day there is no where more lovely! Provides good access to several runs either back down to Tignes 1800 or 1500. Well worth a stop for a beer or two!

La Table de Jeanne is a highly recommended dining establishment in Tignes, known for its diverse menu featuring delicious Savoyard specialties and all-day availability of crepes. Additionally, they offer quick takeout options for those on the go. Conveniently located, the restaurant boasts a pleasant atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. With consistent high standards since 2019, it has established itself as the top restaurant in Tignes.
Cozy and elegant restaurant, every dish is delicious, especially the escargots with basil pesto! Their home made wine is also terrific, we really enjoyed the dinner after ski & snowboarding all day! Definitely would love to come again

The Beaufort fondue was good, the service was just great! I won't recommend the onion soup, it's small, tasteless and pricey. Overall it's a good experience, though French cuisine can be much better. The most annoying thing in this place - they say you have only 2 hours to eat, but it takes more then 30 minutes to get the food. When we asked for dessert we've been offered to eat it in the waiting table in the entrance. So embarrassing and disrespecting.
Oron Amit — Google review
Véry nlce setting and beautifully decorated. One of the higher end places in the village, just not sure the service and originality of the dishes are the best you can get in Tignes. Still had a very nice evening and enjoyed it a lot. Noone will regret going there.

Absolutely charming and authentic raclette / fondue spot! The charcuterie board was exquisite, making it the ultimate destination after a day of skiing in the mountains.
Karin Araman — Google review
Very disappointed with the "buffet". For appetizers they had 2 types of cheese, some salad and soup. We asked if they had some ham they said 'no' and brought some sausage at our table. Later we saw that they were cutting fresh ham for another dish probably. Really disappointed with the self service variety. Good variety for the desserts though. One must also know that there are 3-4 dogs walking around while people are eating. One client was scared of dogs (as well as our kid). It was not a very comfortable atmosphere.

So good! Been here first time in 2019 (alone) & loved the warm welcome and food, back this last week in 2023 and am very happy the standard is still as high & lovely. To me best restaurant by far in Tignes! The booking reservation process (have to put a deposit) is maybe the only negative as is a bit strong for ski resort but I knew when we booked we were going and would be happy so not a problem for us!

This is by far one of the best petit gateau I’ve ever eaten. They call chocolate soufflé with ice cream. Entrecôte was not good at all. Kids like their burguer and fries and wife had the gnocchi which was alright.

Everything was amazing, the service was great and spoken both English and French which was perfect. The menu card was also available in both languages. Food was fresh and the quality + quantity you get for the price you pay is also really good!

My friend booked a reservation here and I’m so glad he did. We had a beautiful, cozy and delicious meal at La Table de Jeanne. I don’t eat a lot of red meat, so I was a bit hesitant about the menu, but I found some delicious items for myself to enjoy. Starter: Onion Soup 🔥 Light but very flavorful and served piping hot in a bowl. Main: Cod Loin with Butternut Squash 🔥🔥 The Cod was one of my favorite meals in France and my favorite dish in Tignes. It was fresh and bursting with flavor. Still thinking about it now. Dessert: Raspberry Sorbet 🔥 I’m not a big raspberry person, but this was delicious and I ate every bite. It was soaked in raspberry liquor. Atmosphere: a very quaint and beautiful space that really comes together in the details. It transports you back in time to the time of kings and queens. The service was great as well and had a in-house sommelier that helped us with our wine selection. Overall, this is a beautiful space and I had a wonderful meal there. Pro tip: Be sure to take a look at the menu before going so you can figure out what you want to eat.
