Outdoor Activities
Les Arcs is a renowned ski resort in France, offering a wide range of activities for both winter and summer. It's known for being family-friendly and catering to skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort boasts convenient access, reliable snow conditions, and various pistes. Visitors can enjoy skiing with stunning views, including Mont Blanc, amidst heavy snowfall. The area also offers excellent dining options and shopping facilities.
Typically French ski area, but undeniably one of the best hi-altitude resorts in the world. The ski lift system is supported by the French government and is designed and planned amazing well with awesome uphill capacity meaning you hardly ever have to queue for a lift even when the resort is busy. Some of the Arcs are what I would call French brutalistic alpine architecture, they are purpose built going back to the 1970s/80s. Arc 1950 is like a Disney version of an alpine village but cute none the less. The French are generally good humoured and great fun to be around, food is of course excellent at every price point, but don't expect this to be cheap 2000m up a mountain. All in all definitely worth a visit.

Amazing ski resort with everything you need! Great restaurants & bars on slope looking over beautiful French alps. General facilities such as public toilets, lifts, signage etc were very good. Everyone we met in this resort including staffs and guests were both friendly and we had a great a week holiday here in mid-March. We had a week full of sun so snow was melting in lower resorts but lots of snow in arc 2000!
Rei N — Google review
An incredibly wide selection of pistes for beginners and proficient skiers. I'd recommend going to the La Plagne side if you are newer to skiing however. For the one week I was there the pistes were well maintained and the lifts were never too crowded. The restaurants in the area are also good and not overcrowded.

Nice place to ski. Went here january 2022. Last slope went directly to the apartment

Huge area to ski in, high altitude loads of snow even in april, very child friendly, super selection of restaurants stunning scenery. Been twice and will go again, my favourite place to ski!
Timothy Richmond Gray — Google review
Wonderful experience that I highly recommend to anyone. Best ski trails I've ever experienced, with breathtaking views, including of Mont Blanc. We got to ski during heavy snowfall with fluffy terrain, icy slopes, everything and it was all incredible. There are a lot of great restaurants (we stayed at 2000), as well as stores for food, clothing, gear, etc. The staff were incredible in every village, and went above and beyond. 1950 is such a cute village and very worth the gondola ride. The Snake experience with ESF is a must on MWF. The ski instructors were incredible and some of the best I've come across. I'll also say that ski patrol is very responsive, the medical teams are great, they even do covid tests and EU certificates, and no matter what happens, you always feel taken care of at Les Arcs.
Beatriz Almeida — Google review
Nice ski resort site. Not so well maintained common areas. No easy access for disabled people. Overall, it was quite friendly for the French standards. The price range for food and drinks not too expensive.
Denis BATTOCCHIO — Google review
Really love this place it's big. Good for beginners and experienced and kids. You can easily stay in Bourg Saint Maurice and go up by the funiculair. Go to restaurant la ferm in villaroger when skiing. Get a plate du Jour at the sunny terrasse. Best restaurant when skiing. Will definitely be back.
Sabrina Skøt — Google review
Very disappointing. Don’t recommend coming here, especially when the weather isn’t great - they are clearly understaffed, slopes aren’t groomed, common areas are not properly maintained and in general the experience I had was way below expectations and far worse, compared to other ski resorts in the area. In the morning only 1 or 2 lifts operated due to poor weather conditions and staff was extremely rude. I complained and asked for a refund after waiting for 1 hr in the queue at the only lift that was open at the time (and then stopped due to technical issues) and the answer was that they cannot offer a refund but they will forward my “threats” to their legal department. Well I don’t know since when expressing a negative opinion publicly is considered a threat but here we are. So to sum it up, go to Tignes / Val Disere or Val Thorens and avoid Les Arcs (especially when the weather isn’t great) at all cost.

I had a wonderful week in Les Arcs. The skiing conditions were almost perfect, except for a few days of white out. I will go back there in a heart beat.

Great resort. Great ski runs. Amazing on piste restaurants. Would recommend for both advanced skiers and those with families.
Freddie C — Google review
Les Arc ski resort is perfect for all levels of ability. There are numerous Blue runs, which are perfect for the less gifted participants, such as me. Plenty of Reds, Blacks, and sheer drop mountain faces to throw yourself down / over, if that's your bag. Plenty of breathtakingly beautiful views, and bars from which to savour them. Accommodation is plentiful, and in Bourg St Maurice there's a great campsite if you've got a motor home, camping van or caravan. Having said that, this year I've seen quite a few cars with roof tents. Let's not leave out the less able of us, as there are loads of assisted skiing offered by the ski schools in the resort. There really is something for everyone in this Les Arcs.

We've been a few times, in both winter and summer, and explored all the local towns. 1950 is our favourite place of Les Arcs. Great for skiing and walking. Lots if activities for kids, too.

Perfect ski in ski out village with great reaturants and bars
Steven Noon — Google review
Love its incredible view of the Alps. The resort provides a great variety of slopes and restaurants in general are good (though usually overpriced). Can’t give it five stars because of its ridiculous shuttle between villages. If you missed your last lift back to the side of your village, expect to spend 2 or more hours waiting for/standing in a crowded shuttle bus. Not a good skiing experience at all.
Alex Luk — Google review
Very exciting ski station with loads of slopes and entertainment

Excellent location for a ski holiday. Very family friendly. Lots to do other than skiing. Definitely recommend the zipline!! We came in February 2024 and was very busy and we were so thankful to have paid for premium lift passes as the lift queues got quite long at times. Excellent slopes for all ski abilities!

Le Refuge is a charming French Alpine restaurant with local dishes served authentically. The food is delicious and the atmosphere relaxing, making it a great place to enjoy french cuisine. Reservations are recommended for dinner, as the restaurant opens at noon for lunch.
Outrageously large portion sizes, cosy atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. Recommend queuing before they open at 18:30 (we got there at just 18:00) as is walk-ins only and very popular

Superb regional food with excellent service. Great location just up from the main square, which is nicely shaded on hot summers days. The interior looks like it will be cosy when the weather is cooler.
Patrick O'Neill — Google review
Absolutely the place to have lunch when transferring through Bourg Saint Maurice. We both had the Boite Chaude which was very fairly priced and though you could argue it requires very little cooking, the array of charcuterie and pickled items was extensive and of high quality.
James B-Y — Google review
Good restaurant with cosy atmosphere. A little pricey for the type food served. Try the crème brûlée - its finished on the table in front of you and very tasty.
Rob Villacres — Google review
Went here for dinner with our 2 children, whilst they don't have a children's menu they were happy for the kids to share a dish. Both my husband and I had the tartiflette with charcuterie, it was absolutely delicious and a very generous portion. Kids shared a salad which was also really tasty and had a lot of fresh ingredients. The waiter and waitress were very helpful and friendly. We loved it!
Kerry Lale — Google review
We decided to go here based on a recommendation and we weren't disappointed. As it opens at 6.30, we waited outside from 6.15, couple of other people also waiting, and once seated, by 7pm it was full. Note, reservations are not possible. We had the fondue which was cheese heaven! Once our bread and meats were done, asking the friendly ladies soon had it all restocked. The homemade creme brulee which was glazed at the table was also delicious. A party of 2, our bill was around €65 which included a couple of drinks. Highly recommended, get there early or around 8pm when the first sitting might be leaving. We'd return for sure! Merci beaucoup

Amazing food and unbeatable service! Not only the quality of the food is superb, but also good portions and good value for money. Tip: Please arrive early (any time from 18:30) as the restaurant was full by 19:02!

If you are looking to experience the Savoyard cuisine, Le Refuge is the right place for you. This little restaurant offers a charming French Alpine atmosphere combined with authentically served local dishes. I would recommend going for the fondue with mushrooms, the tartiflette (a baked potatoes, cheese and onions dish) and the raclette (melting Swiss cheese served on a charcoal grill). There isn’t an English menu, so you might struggle initially if you are not a French speaker, however, just ask the waitress for the spécialités and she will kindly pick the best one(s) for you. You will likely need to make a reservation for dinner, either over the phone or in person around noon, when the restaurant opens for lunch.

Le Savoy is a welcoming eatery that showcases a rustic atmosphere, featuring a cozy cabin-inspired design. This establishment specializes in hearty French cuisine and boasts an impressive selection of après-ski cocktails. Located in 2000 Arc, Les Arcs, Bourg Saint Maurice, France, Le Savoy offers a variety of dining options including lunch, dinner, brunch, and late-night fare. The brasserie provides outdoor seating and is wheelchair accessible.
We came here twice, once for raclette and once for cote a l’os. Both were well prepared. The cote a l’os at perfect temperature with choice of sauce. Nice mountain ambience and lively atmosphere. The staff ski outfits with suspenders are adorable. Reservations recommended and were easy to make online and over the phone. The second dinner here they had live entertainment with a man with a guitar - it was charming. I see there are many complaints in reviews regarding slow service. We personally didn’t notice it too much. During the rush of dinner, we did feel we had to flag down the server to remind them to bring the wine but not exceptionally upsetting to the overall experience. Overall, dependable mountain classics and satisfactory service and ambience.
Caro Wood — Google review
For pretending to be so bougie, their chefs seem to not use salt whatsoever in any of the dishes we tried. Unsalted potato gratin is rather awful. Also, portions were completely inconsistent as the duck breast was probably 1/4 of what the veal cutlet was.
Jimmy Guo — Google review
Le Savoy is a restaurant in Arc 1950 with an amazing decoration and atmosphere. We ate lunch here with 4 people at a very busy time but off-season. We had a main of crozets and a sort of French toast with cheese and a perfect egg, both tasted very good. It was clearly too busy for the staff because service took quite long and certain things had to be asked twice (no bread on the table, the bottle of wine we ordered). With our food we drank a bottle of Chignin-Bergeron which was good. We had an excellent café gourmand to finish. All in all this restaurant is definitely worth going to, but don't be in a rush, and reserve!
Marc Hilhorst — Google review
When you order a 1.2 kh of prime rib for 100 euro, you expect it to be "extra ordinary" The food was served cold, over cooked is most parts. When we gave the feedback for the waitress there was no comment, only when reporting to the manager they gave us discount of 10%... all we really wanted is to have a quality meal. Disappointed...
Nadav Margalit — Google review
As a toerist, they don’t treat you well. We would like to grab a bite and need to wait for the kitchen to open. Therefore we ordered some drinks and a starter. We receive the bill at once with the request to pay directly. The knew wait waited the get dinner, which we procure did not after this experience! Furthermore the frites “we ordered as a waiting starter” served cold and tasted very bad. If you’re a toerist, please avoid this restaurant.

We ate for four people, didn't need a reservation and came to eat dinner. We had the garlic bread, pulled pork burger (burger of the day), the quarter chicken, cheese burger, steak and gratin. Pros: Very generous portion sizes, extremely pleasant staff, nice decor. My pulled pork sandwich was fantastic, and the steak was apparently also very nice. The garlic bread to start was very nice. Cons: Food definitely wasn't worth the price, the chips were hard and not very nice as a side, the chicken was completely void of any flavour, the gratin was also not great (my friend who had it states "I have never made potato gratin before, but I could probably watch a YouTube video and make something better"). The gustatory experience was lacking taking into consideration the amount you pay in one of the culinary centres of the world. Would have expected better.

Solamente estuve tomando un café con leche. Muy buen café, sitio muy agradable y confortable, cálido, con manitas. Es caro, pero lo normal para establecimientos en este tipo de lugares. Ideal para entrar en calor en un descanso de un día de esquí. (Translated by Google) I was just having a coffee with milk. Very good coffee, very nice and comfortable place, warm, with hands. We were a large party that came for a boozy dinner on live music night. We absolutely loved it ! Had an amazing time. The music was really fun and the staff were very accommodating. We were having so much fun that we got up and danced ( not sure you were meant to do that). Had a great cheesy and heavy skii dinner. Good time all around. Can really recommend the duck and chocolate mousse.

Nice restaurant and atmosphere but the food was below our expectations and didn't match the price. First time in my life a bearnaise was served cold (apparently on purpose 😞). Belgian (french) fries were overcooked and bad quality potatoes. Veggie zucchini balls were poor. Lots of potential and nice staff!
Louis-philip X — Google review
Stopped here for lunch almost every day during our 1 week ski holiday. Busy, but always able to get a table and food are always good! Service is super friendly and quick too. We were pushed for time on the first day as we had lessons in 20mins, yet after we ordered food it turned up in 5mins!! (Chips and hot chocolate). Reasonable prices for the location! QR code payment system was very quick and convenient. Negatives: 1) I was not too impressed with the toilet cleanness. Also the toilet seats were not fixed on properly so it was difficult for my 5 yr old to get on/off the seat with a moving seat... 2) If you are not having food and only want a quick drink, only the high chairs by the bar are available - they are way too awkward for any kids younger than 10 to sit on - not kids friendly from that prospective and potentially unsafe for small kids as they may fall off the high chairs easily.
M “Lil_MK” — Google review
There was a nice band right in front of our table, which somewhat made up for the poor food and wine selection. The Tartiflette was good, Sea Bass was horrendous.
Tamir Taub — Google review
We had the fondue aux cèpes here for 2 with a side plate of charcuterie. There was enough fondue in the pot for 4-6 people, which meant that there was a lot of cheese left over and also you couldn’t get to the grilled crusty cheese at the bottom of the pot which is the best part. Maybe that’s how fondue is usually served in this area? However it tasted very good. The flan patissière for dessert was excellent.

The Chalets de l'Arc in France is not a hotel, lacking rooms. However, they excel in serving tasty and substantial dishes with a relaxed yet professional service. The attentive staff ensures efficient service, making it an ideal place for families to create memorable moments.

Very attractive restaurant with outlook over ski areas. Pleasant management and helpful service. Not cheap but good quality fondue, fish and vegetarian food was available.

Excellent bread baked in the old bread oven. Some of their dishes "chaussons" are actually that bread stuffed with various things. The portions are big. If you take the terrine by yourself as a starter, you'll be full. The wine was good. The service was rather quick but could have been more friendly.

I’ve been to the alpes for many years. This was the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! Despite the trek up the slope, it was definitely worth it for the at the food, atmosphere and service! 110% recommend!

Outstanding location with 360 degree mountain views. Food was decent but unfortunately service was slow and they made a mistake with the bill. This was quickly amended and shots were offered to make up for the confusion.

Great mountain chalet. The terrace is a real sun trap and has great views. The menu is varied and all the food was very fresh and very well cooked and presented
Jan-sebastian WIST — Google review
Came here twice once for lunch and once for dinner. For dinner you must walk up the slope for about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. As we were coming from Arc 1950 we took the free pedestrian gondola to Arc 2000. As we started our ascent on foot we were offered mulled wine for the trip from two restaurant representatives at a mobile kiosk. Absolutely delightful. Dinner itself was a great experience with a raclette cooked at the table on coals. Served with four types of cheeses and four types of charcuterie. My husband counts it as one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. The experience walking up the ski slope to access the restaurant and seated right by the fireplace was wonderful. Lunch time is a bit more chaotic but we came back for the “chausson”. Lunchtime you c ça an also walk up from Arc 2000 but since the ski lifts are open you can also take a lift further up and ski down to the restaurant. For lunch we arrived about 10 minutes early and were told by a frazzled host to come back later. We killed time with an apéro at the floor below to L’Epicerie which is part of the same franchise but serving meals less formally for a grab-and-ski.

We had a lunch on the terrace on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Service was very nice and they have typical food for the region. We tried the tartiflette which was very tasty but a seriously huge portion! And the chocolate mousse was lovely too.

The food is tasty (typical of the region) and the mood is excellent. We had lunch on a sunny Saturday and there was a person playing saxophone. The music is very nice and the view is amazing. The staff is very nice and the service is efficient. We spent a great family moment. (The place is not accessible by car but could be accessible by walking or skiing as it is on the slopes.)

Mamie Crêpes, located in Arc 1800, is highly regarded as one of the finest dining establishments in the area. The amiable and humorous owners create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patrons to enjoy their meals. The portions served here are remarkably generous, especially when it comes to their delectable crepes - which are truly colossal. It is rare for anyone to finish them entirely.
Very cosy crêpe restaurant in the middle of Arc 1800 with very tasty crêpes both salty and sweet! We ate here with a party of 4 both in summer and in winter. Their crêpes are made with local ingredients and have great tastes; example is the super mamie which is a crêpe with a fantastic tomato based sauce and steak haché on top, to which the chef adds fresh local produce on the spot (in our case mushrooms). An extra nice touch is the possibility to have homemade cider with your meal, brut or sweet, both tasted great. Would definitely recommend. The restaurant is small (in cold winter only inside) so reserve! You can also finish your meal with chartreuse or montcorbier, the local digestifs.

A traditional crêpière at the ski resort area at les Arcs. The staff are very kind and friendly. Their cider are house brand and delicious. the papy crepe was the highlight for me, it has everything one needs for a savory crepe delight. Probably the best restaurant in arc 1800. The owners are very friendly and very funny. The quantities are huge. The crêpes are huge. None of us were able to finish them. They also do a real « fondue savoyarde » from a family recipe. All the ingredients are either home made or bought from small farms. It’s a must go!

The waitstaff are attentive and the restaurant accepts American Express, Mastercard, and Visa for convenience.
Very cozy restaurant where you feel at home. Additional charm was added by the fact that we were sitting on the second floor. As far as I understand, Savoyard dishes are distinguished by their simplicity and include a large amount of cheese. It was a little unusual for us, but despite this, everything was very tasty. I ordered sausage with rice - I recommend. Separately, I want to note the hospitable hosts, the waitress and the chef who personally came to ask how satisfied we were.

Nice restaurant at the end of the terrace. It's facing the valley, not the pistes, so it is much easier to find a free take without a reservation. The food was good. The duck burger was quite original but not outstanding. I would have liked a bit more caramelized onions, and maybe some pickles or tomatoes. The staff was pleasant.
