I came from Ukraine with three children, my wife and sister, saving them from the war. And I decided to celebrate my birthday in your Indian restaurant. I wanted my birthday away from my homeland to be pleasant and happy. But when I left the restaurant, I had only negative emotions. We ordered £150 worth of food and wine. The food was delicious. But soon a waiter came up to us and asked us to quickly pay off and leave the restaurant without even letting us finish our wine. He explained this by the fact that we have already been sitting for 2 hours and other customers have already come to our table. It was an order from the owner of the restaurant. I traveled all over the world, but for the first time in my life I was kicked out of a restaurant, and humiliated in front of my children and on my birthday. For such a great country as England, such behavior of waiters and such attitude towards customers is unacceptable. It's a shame! Think a few times before coming to this restaurant - you may also be kicked out from the table!

Wedding anniversary meal last night and had the most delicious Chefs Special. I usually go for a fry tandoori as I’m not a fan of a lot of sauce so this sounded a good option! The chicken, lamb and king prawns all took on a different flavour in this dish. Highly recommend! And the staff are very attentive but not intrusively. Arafin was lovely to talk to and always smiling.

Food was nothing special, taste blended , all too garlicky, papodom as starters ,5 main and 3 naans, one bottle of withe wine sauvignon blanche and normal water…..£98 ….. not expensive but i wold prefer pay more and have tastier food

The most delicious food I've had for a long time. The lamb rogan was magnificent. I'm on a mini vacation so my first time in Devizes. Thank goodness I don't live here because I'd be obese!!!Well done 1 spice 👍

Excellent food and friendly staff. Enjoyed every meal we had there.

The staff is super friendly, we had the akbari chicken masala and the chicken shashlik. Food was full of flavor and the overall experience a 10/10! We will definitely come back and try some more dishes

Hi Arafin I would like to thank you and your staff for a fantastic evening, catering for our party of 35. Great food as usual, great service as usual. Everybody enjoyed the food and commented that it was the best Indian cuisine they had had. Big well done to you and once again Thank you...6 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
David Stout — Google review
Normally this would be our go to curry house, however, the service from front of house was shocking even though we booked a table on Tuesday we were shoved out of the way by where you collect a takeaway. The lady was really rude and unwelcoming so we left straightaway. In hindsight this was a great decision since the curry leaf found us a table and the food was outstanding. Won’t be back at one spice for a while and at least whilst the still employ that dragon…,

This restaurant is great for a week time meal, staff are polite and friendly which is very important! We have never had a bad meal from this restaurant and we visit often. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed 😌

Absolutely Amazing service Delicious foods every meals we enjoyed and definitely recommended them ♥️

I am not native to Devizes as I am only working here. I asked for a recommendation for a meal and was recommended 1 Spice. The staff were incredibly friendly and service was excellent. The food was amazing and was the best Indian food I have ever had. To top it all off the price was extremely reasonable. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Shaun McCann — Google review
Good pricing for a fair portion size and even better flavour. Staff went above and beyond on service and unasked, celebrated my birthday.
Bogdan Nicolae — Google review
The food was good, cooked well and had a little flavour to it. My issue was with the service that was provided. Not happy with the female that worked inside the restaurant. She was unnecessary awkward and unhelpful.
De Ryc Rr — Google review
Arrived at 8.15pm as booked. It took an hour for someone to take our order with the meal arriving after 10pm. Very poor overall experience. Will not return in a hurry!

Another lovely meal enjoyed at One Spice through Arafin and his team. Fantastic atmosphere (every table full), tasty food, great size portions and a friendly waiting team. What more could you want in a clearly thriving local business?

Food was excellent best Indian food I have had in a while. Service was fast and friendly and very busy restaurant.

Been going for years and not a single bad experience. Easily the best Indian food I’ve ever had and consistently good food, good service and reasonable prices. Cannot fault them in any way.

Tea house
Tea Inc., a charming tea house, offers scrumptious and wholesome food that perfectly complements their wide range of teas. Their menu is far from dull, always providing delicious and nutritious options. With an extensive selection of teas, including the delightful Turkish delight tea, this place is a paradise for tea enthusiasts. The knowledgeable staff are passionate about their craft and happily provide recommendations on brewing times and choices. In addition to the exceptional drinks, Tea Inc. also tempts visitors with incredible-looking cakes.
Booked a cream tea which was very good value, we were able to ask for more cream for the scones and a refill of tea within the price. If you can't eat it all, they have a box for you to take home the left overs. You need to give at least 24hrs notice for a cream tea and let them know your dietary requirements. There is seating both on the ground floor and 1st floor and a toilet upstairs. They have a sales room upstairs with a variety of goods, tea bags, teapots and much more. There is no wheelchair access. It is a very busy place and was fully booked when we arrived for our booking. Parking would be in the market place. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere as there was a woman sat near us on her phone the whole time not really using her inside voice. They have a variety of teas to choose from and they come out in a tea pot with a timer for best taste, you can do less or more depending on how strong you like your tea. I would highly recommend visiting Tea Inc.

Quirky little tea shop in a sweet street off the market place. Nice little touches with the food presentation. Great ploughman's savoury scone and the soup of the day- carrot and coriander.
CC — Google review
Lovely tea shop with a delicious menu catering well for vegetarians. Delicious cakes and scones.
Claire Williams — Google review
Little cozy tea shop with very nice staff and good selection of tea. I personally enjoyed the house tea. Hot chocolate, sandwich, scone with cream and jam were really nice. Will come back if we pass by the area again.
Thao Tran Beal — Google review
What a beautiful little tea room. If you like tea, this is definitely the place to go, the tea menu is packed with all sorts of different teas. I went there twice now for a light lunch and had the soup of the day with a scone both times. The soups were delicious and really nicely presented. There is also a really nice selection of things you can buy, like cups, teapots, tea etc.
M T — Google review
Fabulous little tea shop. The stilton and bacon scone was great and the house breakfast tea was one of the best I've ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed it and completely recommend it.

If you're in Devizes in Wiltshire - or even if you're miles away from Devizes - you really need to call in to Tea Inc! Nestling in a cute little passageway just off the Market Place, this beautiful, historic building holds the delights of Tea Inc. You will be amazed at the array of different tea options, the very good coffee but (most of all) the mouth-watering cakes and snacks. (Who could resist a scrumptious Persian Love Cake on Valentine's Day!) They even have a great selection of tea pots and accoutrements in the sweet little dining rooms upstairs. The staff are delightful, knowledgeable and very welcoming. This is a place you really must not miss!
Sally Noseda — Google review
First time here and love it!!!! Small and quirky with a great selection of teas and scones. Will be here more often! Homemade warm fruit scone with blackberry and liquorice jam. Another with strawberry jam. Paired with a soya hot chocolate with marshmallows and a alpine orange tea, brewed for exactly 3 minutes with the timer 🤣👍🏼

We, Angelo and José from Holland, made a trip through the United Kingdom and on our bucketlist stood an real English afternoon tea. We arrived in a beautiful alley and came in an also atmospheric, inviting tea house. We were friendly welcomed and they gave us a tea menucard with 80 different flavors. When the tea was on the table we got a etagère with sandwiches, scones and cake. Everything was delicious and we want to thank the owners for a wonderful afternoon. We also bought some gifts out of the shop on the first floor.

The George & Dragon is a historic inn located in Rowde, Devizes. It features charming guestrooms with Wi-Fi and a cozy log fire. The establishment also offers a restaurant and a beautiful garden for guests to enjoy. This traditional sixteenth-century coaching inn seamlessly blends modern style with rustic country charm. The pub boasts exceptional food prepared by renowned chef Niall Keating, who draws inspiration from his travels and Asian cuisine.
Simply superb! Idyllic garden seating. Staff were good humoured even at the end of a packed Mothering Sunday. Three courses for five people were delivered quickly and without fuss. The food was beautifully presented yet decent portion sizes and tasted wonderful. No complaints over the drinks either. If the parking was a little larger this would be a 6 out of 5.

Stopped here for a Saturday evening and was really impressed. Only 3 rooms available which makes the experience very personal. Booking in was minimal and booking out non existent. Chippy the owner even offered late checkout without asking. The building is very old and quirky. Floors are definitely not level which for us added to the experience. Our room had a bath in the room itself which was a fun addition but might have been a struggle for someone less mobile. The hotel fronts on to main road but we didn't find road noise excessive. Convenient for Devises and Caen Locks
Gary Topp — Google review
Lovely quirky place, full of history and character. Room was comfortable, food in the restaurant excellent with great breakfast spread in the morning. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, we had a fantastic stay, thanks Chippy and the crew for making our stopover in Rowde such a pleasure

Don’t go here if you want a cheap meal as good fish is expensive. Quality was excellent freshest fish we have eaten in a long while. Service impeccable could not do enough for us with my sister who is terminally ill. Best service we have had in a while. Even allowed us to bring our own no alcohol wine for medical purposes. Wonderful lunchtime experience. Will return.

You don't have to be near the coast to enjoy beautiful seafood! This country pub is has a wonderful cosy feel, not too many tables so you can actually hear yourself talk over dinner, if you're looking for an intimate dining experience this is for you, staff are welcoming and friendly.
Suzie Fawcett — Google review
Lovely pub, with a good atmosphere, but I was left underwhelmed at some rather overpriced food. The food was tasty, but the dishes felt rather unfinished, which makes the premium price difficult to justify. For example the Prawns, at £28 for a main course consisted of around 8 prawns in a shallow bisque. Both the prawns and the bisque were delicious, but the dish was crying out for something to mop up said bisque, whether that be bread, chips, or a green salad. Instead one was left with a plate of shells sat in a nice sauce. Equally with the steak for the same price. A nicely cooked piece of steak on a plate of sauce, with some chips in a separate bowl. Again, it just felt to be missing something, some green vegetables, a side salad, something. A shame, because the food was tasty, and clearly expertly cooked, but the presentation needs more thought. The same was true of all the dishes our party had, with the exception of the fish and chips, which were excellent. All in all the food was good, the pub is nice, but more effort is needed to justify what is a very premium pricing strategy.
Paul Robb — Google review
We stayed here overnight after a visit to the Caen Hill Locks. We are ourselves B&B owners & found this to be a very friendly pub with great staff. The Chef does needs to engage with customers especially when discussing our food in the bar with the bar staff, we are not invisible! The evening meal was excellent BTW. Chippie the owner is a great chap & nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast he served was excellent and his local knowledge helpful. Would we come back, yes indeed!
Steve Piercy — Google review
Had a delicious 3 course meal. My mom only eats fish and it's hard to find places with good fish. Everything was cooked beautifully. Even got scallops with the roe (we did ask for it to be kept on, it's the best bit!) Brilliant service too. Is pricey but where isn't these days and for fresh fish too
Zoe Betts — Google review
The service was very good they couldnt have been more helpful. All of the food was really nice and high quality. My only complaint would be the portion size as i was still hungry after the 3 courses, the crab cakes and brownie were very small in size.
Jez Wiltshire — Google review
Excellent B&B style pub/restaurant. Nice spacious rooms, mine even had a claw foot bath. Tasty local ales on tap with a big garden out the back full of flowers to soak up the sun in. Food was A+, I had a whole crispy baked fish which was perfect and a full English breakfast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Thanks Chippy and the crew! One thing to be aware of is that while Rowde is a very nice little village there are no shops, not even a petrol station or convenience store so make sure you have everything you need if travelling.

Southern Italian restaurant
Massimo's Ristorante Italiano is a hidden gem in Wiltshire, offering a diverse array of dishes from the southern region of Italy. Located in an underground setting, this restaurant provides generous portion sizes, which some may find slightly excessive. Despite that, the prices are reasonable and comparable to other dining establishments. The service is commendable and the staff are amiable.
A lovely atmosphere and surroundings, really good and friendly service with excellent main course food and deserts to die for
Anthony Watts — Google review
Pleasant Italian tricolor salad, nice cake. Coffee is OK. But it's unusual for an Italian restaurant to not be greeted with warm smiles. The food is pretty good but, on our third visit, we still felt as if they didn't enjoy serving us. I know that many people really rate Massimos so I wonder if they save their warm welcomes for customers that they know well.
Sally Noseda — Google review
Good food. Server was unpolished (calling us ‘mate’ rather than ‘sir’ for example) and working hard run off his feet with only 2 tables occupied on a mid week evening - server was friendly and helpful - he just needs to be more ‘polished’ in the approach. Food was good quality and tasty. Would return when visiting the area again.
Stuart Rigby — Google review
Really lovely place to eat, so homely and welcoming inside. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We definitely stayed much longer than we should have, but the staff were still really accommodating. I had the Calzone and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to come back soon.
Kat French — Google review
I went in for coffee cakes and pastries were good. Coffee was really weak. I had a latte and my mother had a cappuccino. I drank mine as I was very thirsty, my mother left hers as she didn't like the taste far too milky. Needless to say not the best coffee in town. I was hoping for a decent cuppa being Italian. I offered to take my mother's coffee back but my mother is old school and didn't want a fuss. Not that it would've been. That said the atmosphere and decor was very good. Clean and tidy

Massimos is a little Italian gem in Devizes. From the authentic atmosphere to the delicious food (especially the pizzas!), you're guaranteed a wonderful meal here. I have been many, many times (and ordered takeaways) and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an independent eatery. The friendly and patient staff are always very accommodating about my food requirements offering both gluten-free pizza and pasta options. And my friends who are strict vegetarians have always been well looked after and understood. If I could give 6 stars, I would!!
Kerry Coleman — Google review
Hidden gem in the centre of Devizes. Senay and Massimo work incredibly hard to ensure friendly and efficient service is given along with excellent ingredients, well portioned home made Sicilian food... and the tiramisu is the best I've ever had in an italian restaurant including in Italy! We loved our meal and will certainly be back!
Laurent Petas — Google review
Absolute gem. We visited Devizes for the first time today, and were so glad we discovered this lovely place. We had lasagne and fish and chips- both delicious, in my opinion the lasagne was the best ever. Excellent value and lovely staff. Thankyou!
Georgina Breeze — Google review
So with my son and wife decided to go out for dinner as we were getting home too late to cook for ourselves. Massimos is a out of the way down to the basement type restaurant that we had never tried before. It is worth going down to it. Portions are a great size and if anything a little too big for me. But that's me. Prices are reasonable, on par with any other restaurant. Service was good and staff were pretty friendly. I would definitely visit again.
Richard Samson — Google review
We had a lovely meal here. The service was friendly and efficient and there was a nice vibe to the place. The tables were nicely spaced so you could have some privacy and portion sizes were decent, not too much and not too little. There was a wide variety of options on the menu and you could visit many times without eating the same thing twice.

We have been coming to Massimo’s for years and it is one of our favourite places to eat. Always guaranteed to have delicious food and such a warm welcome - Massimo’s is more than just a restaurant, it’s an integral part of the town/community. Gorgeous atmosphere, wonderful food and the loveliest people - would give more than 5 stars if I could! 😊 Thank you Shanai & Massimo - we love you! Devizes is lucky to have this gem of a restaurant 🌟

We've been going to Massimo's for many years and we've always had an amazing meal. We went for our Christmas meal, Shanai and Massimo were really friendly and wonderful hosts, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. I can recommend the Calzone, it's very tasty and it's huge, so turn up with an empty stomach. I can honestly say, it's the best Calzone I've ever had.....and I've eaten a lot of them in my time! All the other meals our friends had looked very tasty too and they all thought the food was delicious. A very authentic and traditional Italian restaurant, with wonderful staff, its well worth a visit and you won't be disappointed!
Brian Stuart — Google review
Absolutely brilliant evening! It was a birthday celebration and the restaurant had put up a birthday banner over our table, such a lovely touch and a birthday brownie at the end of the meal. All the waiters were friendly and the manager was so warm and welcoming and we all felt really looked after. The food was beautifully wholesome and so delicious- arrive hungry as portions are generous. We will define being coming back again 😊

Maybe Monday is a bad night but we certainly didn’t get the 5* experience others seem to have had Further to your response below and subsequent email exchange I wish to make it clear that this IS a genuine review. Sorry if I have hurt your feelings but on this particular occasion the meal was very disappointing.

We went for an impromptu dinner around 7:30 yesterday evening (Thursday). Although a midweek evening in January, there were still more occupied tables than not - a sign that we'd made the right choice! We shared a piccante pizza, chips and a green salad which were all delicious. Friendly attentive staff too. Would definitely come again to try a pasta dish!
Laura Andrews — Google review
This restaurant is well worth a visit. It's downstairs next to the Italian bakery, a good number of tables but feels nice and intimate. We walked in just after opening on a Wednesday and got a table, but be warned it gets busy as it's clearly popular! Food was great; it's not a fussy place to eat but the meals were very tasty. Decent portion size and a reasonable price. Wine by the bottle or glass, and plenty of beer and soft drinks, too. Service was excellent: speedy and polite. I'll definately be going back - more stuff on the menu I need to taste!

The owner of this pub, The Crown, which features its own micro-brewery producing Real Ale, welcomes all dogs to visit and meet their own pet dog named Laurel. The establishment offers a fantastic experience for customers, as one person had booked a table for eight to celebrate a family gathering. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, with the wait staff being delightful. Moreover, the food was not only delicious but also served simultaneously to everyone present.
Went down to meet some friends for the pub quiz. Vibrant atmosphere. Really busy. The staff were fantastic and really friendly. Good selection of drinks.

We had a wonderful experience at The Crown. We booked a table for 8 to celebrate a family gathering. Everything was set up perfectly. We needed wheelchair access so the position of our table was important. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the wait staff were lovely and the food was delicious 😋. We had a slight wait for our meals but were so impressed to all be served at the same time. We met the chief chef afterwards which was a real treat. Well done The Crown and good luck moving forward. We highly recommend you 👌

Just perfect. Don't be put off by the outside needing a lick of paint. The food was lovely and Wadworth 6x wonderful. Inside the eating area is huge yet manages to retain a friendly cosy feel. The service was fantastic, with the staff almost instinctively knowing when a second pint of 6x was required! Pudding - treacle sponge - was superb. A perfect end to a hard day coming up the Caen flight! Would throughly recommend a visit! 👍👍👍👍👍

Met by staff quickly and given a choice of seats. Decided as the weather was good to try one of the booths outside. Service was efficient and friendly, we all had different burgers and were all very pleased with the choices and quality. Even though the business has only been open for a few months, they are doing a great job. We will definitely go back and try other menu options. Well done Sarah and Simon.

Despite the need for a bit of a tidy up and some fresh paint, the Crown Inn provides delicious food and a comfortable dining area. We booked the day before, as we were travelling back from Stroud, to the New Forest, so we wanted to stop off in Devizes for Sunday lunch. The Crown Inn did not disappoint. We selected the ‘small roast’ and it was plenty large enough for us. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
