Villa Strassburger is a chic attraction located in Deauville, France, on the Normandy coast. Built in 1861 by Napoleon's half-brother, this wonderful circa 1900 house has been preserved in its original style. Auditorium
The recent opening of Les Franciscaines in Deauville has completely transformed the city's cultural landscape. This 19th-century convent, brilliantly redesigned by contemporary architect Alain Moatti, now houses a variety of artistic spaces. The chapel has been converted into a performance venue, there are temporary exhibition areas, a permanent museum, a charming garden cafe, and even a multimedia public library. It is truly a serene and remarkable place to visit.
Beautiful town with incredible sundown views and great beaches

Unfortunately there is no dance performance this weekend but it seems the place to watch dance in Deauville. The place is too good to be true then the list of philanthropy can explain. I was excited about "univers spectacle" but there were very few books about dance and I didn't find books about theater. Actually it is mainly a universe of movies. The restaurant looks nice but a refreshing drink is less welcoming.

Fine dining restaurant
L'Essentiel is a contemporary restaurant in Deauville, renowned for its imaginative fine-dining dishes and extensive selection of wines. It has received top ratings from respected food guides including Le Fooding, Gault et Millau, Michelin, and Le Figaro Magazine.
We like to eat at good restaurants with high recommendations and this was 6 of the best courses of food we've had in some time. Classy venue with a full floor to ceiling window into the immaculate kitchen. We were set at ease immediately with the surroundings, comfy seating and excellent service from the staff. We had a great bottle of Sancere recommended by the waiter (just over 50 Euros) to accompany the 6-course set menu (81 Euros each) chosen for the table. Starting with a tartare of veal with smoked eel - packed with flavour and texture set the trend for the next courses, a cold delicious bisque with tuna, pasta with oyster, Iberian pork, Normandy cheese, and then a choice of great desserts. Highly recommended.
Graham Keeble — Google review
Very underwhelmed. The food was a 6/10, the service from our waiter was subpar and it felt like we were forgotten on multiple occasions. The bus and other staff were very friendly though. Our wagyu was served blue (below rare) which would be ok if it wasn’t extremely chewy and somewhat of a chore to get down. Same goes for the beef tatak, which was also surprisingly bland for how beautiful the presentation was. Both sauces and accompaniments were totally misplaced for the type of meat served. As someone who is well versed in both Korean and French cooking I feel that the fusion element didn’t add anything to these dishes. It actually subtracted. It was really forgettable, which was such a disappointment. The waiter more or less disappeared after our mains were served. I ordered another glass of wine to go with my cheese course, and the wine never arrived. The waiter never came back outside until after dessert was served. Luckily the busboy came by and asked why I wasn’t eating my cheese. The food was ok. I wonder if it stands out in Deauville because practically every other restaurant serves more or less the same menu. As an outsider I feel this left a lot to be desired and tbh I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. There were other issues but I don’t want to keep writing about this. Stick to the other repetitive restaurants in Deauville and don’t expect a sensational meal during your visit here.

Amazing diner. The staff is friendly and helpful. The kitchen that you can see from the dining room offers a great atmosphere. Can't wait to come again. Worth every penny.
Julien Danjou (jd) — Google review
We went to this place for a dinner after doing some research online. I ordered medium Wagyu beef for the main and it came really chewy and dry, well below reasonable expectations for a good slice of beef, let alone Wagyu. Mentioned this to a waitress but it did not have any impact whatsoever, probably should have spoken to somebody else as well but then again you are in a Michelin-starred restaurant and expect the service to be at a certain level. Not sure how they manage to retain that star.
EM Trading — Google review
We had a great food experience with 7 rounds. A little disappointed in the service that was not always attentive and the main part of the meal that had to return to the kitchen because of a mistake that one would not expect on this level.
Vince L — Google review
Exceptional service and wonderful atmosphere. All team wearing masks correctly and compliments to the kitchen for an incredible meal. Unfortunately I was eaten alive by mosquitos as the door to outside was wide open for circulation but all in all a great dinner.
Caitlin Niltiac — Google review
We had a very good meal at this sophisticated, modern restaurant. We came with high expectations that were almost, but not entirely, met. The dishes in our six-course menu were carefully crafted to produce fine flavours, textures and presentation, but I felt the Asian influence in the cooking gave all the dishes a similarity in taste. The service was formal but not as slick as I hoped. We had to ask twice for three different items. I was getting cross by the time I asked for the bill for the third time, and even then there was another delay before they came to take payment. But the food was good, the ambience very nice and I would have no hesitation in going back if we are in Deauville again.
Chris Robinson — Google review
Amazing French-Korean fusion. We picked à la carte, we tried two appatizers one with fois gras and one with oysters and both were really good. We particularly enjoyed the fusion between the fois gras and the miso soop. As a main course we tried the Noix de saint jaques and the bavette. they were amazing, my favorite was the noix de saint Jaques especially with the mix with chorizo. The desert was amazing as well. The service was excellent, and prices reasonable and in-line with what they serve. I definitely recommend.

Cuisine could be even more inventive/ risk taking provided the interesting Korean/French positioning! That being said: great atmosphere, fresh products, good service at 60€ per person without drinks (+ 50-100 EUR bottle of wine).

Fine dining restaurant
Located in the heart of Deauville, Restaurant Maximin Hellio has been earning awards for its fine French cuisine. With three Michelin stars, it offers a wide range of menus from 39 to 135 euros. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is outstanding. The lobster and crab dish was especially delicious, with subtle use of kombawa reflecting the restaurant's local focus. The homemade bread was also a standout, warranting mention on its own.
We decided for a weekend getaway in Deauville and found this place, very well located, one star michelin, so why not indulge. The perfect choice as we found out while dining, the staff is lovely, we tried some wonderful dishes, the lobster and crab were outstanding, the subtle use of kombawa refreshing, the french caviar a delight. The homemade bread, even if a sidedish does deserve to be mentioned, it would make some bakers would be envious. A great restaurant, we'll happily try out again, we had agreat time.

The menu is revealed seated. One is pleasantly surprised by so much imagination. A special mention for the shrimp broth with potato mousse stuffed shrimp. We also like the amuse bouche in a crab shell.
Karl — Google review
Great place. I am happy that Deauville finally 3 years ago got the restaurant of the superior quality. Everything is perfect. Homard bleu de mon papa, saint-pierre de petit bateau, artichauts, boeuf de Normandie, carottes and fantastic desserts invite to be back many times.
M Ache — Google review
Very disappointed. All dishes had a sharp taste like vinegar. The only dish which was nice was the scallops and that was so salty it completely ruined it. Left the restaurant hungry and completely bemused as to how they have a Michelin star.
Lisette-Marie Roberts — Google review
Excellent food, imaginatively presented. One or two dishes on the six course menu were less good than others, but nothing to let down the meal overall. Price is what you'd expect for the quality.
Julian Lynch — Google review
Food is very good, service is abismal, you can run out of water wine or anything and yet they still don’t offer you any drinks🤷‍♂️ The staff walk round like they’re in a maze looking for the exit, for the price this is very poor value🙄
Mark Lance — Google review
We had a very bad experience here. Maximin Hellio was rude upon arrival. Then the service was very slow. They took a long time to bring water and serve the wine. The food was flat and without creativity. And the deserts were simply not good. We would not recommend this Resturant.

Very high quality cooking, imaginative use of seasonal produce and a relaxed style in the kitchen, which we could see from our table, made this a memorable meal. We had the mid- priced menu - at this level it is not cheap, but well worth it. We will certainly be back next time we are near Deauville

Good service, amazing tartare & fries, lovely interior and view, comfortable chairs. Everything is very clean. Finally a proper restaurant.
Anastasia S. — Google review
Sharp, modern restaurant on the 5th floor of the Novotel. If you happen to be seated at the front of the restaurant then you'll be treated to stunning views out over the seafront that tend to trump the food which is decent but not fantastic, perhaps trying a little too hard on presentation over quality. It is however reasonably priced so if you are happy with the above then still worth a visit.
Graham Keeble — Google review
Located in front of the sea a good place to have a bite after almost 600km of driving “patience” 😅. Located at the 5th floor of a Novotel, this evening it was fully packed of souls because of a conference taking place in Deauville. Cosy atmosphere (but will not give 5 ⭐️ because of the table allocated to me…), excellent, kind and quick staff. The food is good and my Cheeseburger was well cooked and tasty. All considered not bad at all buy sure that it is better on summer time.
Andrea Valacchi — Google review
The food is awesome and the dining room is a gem! Very welcoming staff—the whole resort must have one of the best HR team in the region (really, they rock at recruiting talents!)
Yo Le Bi — Google review
Amazing view, very nice staff. Food is uneven and average, which is surprising for such a location. Haddock fish was great, mozzarella was not acceptable, burger was not good, french fries are excellent. This restaurant could be a five star location if the quality of food was improved to a""normal" French brasserie level. No need to reply to that review with copying / pasting the same text as for the other reviewers.
Antoine Becker — Google review
L'Etage Deauville restaurant offers a delightful experience with its picturesque view, delicious food, and warm and welcoming staff, including an approachable manager. The ambiance and scenic setting create a charming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The food at L'Etage Deauville is generally good, although we found the quality to be a 4 out of 5 for the dishes we tried. While the flavors were enjoyable, there might be room for improvement in terms of taste and presentation. One highlight of the restaurant is the exceptional service provided by the staff. Their friendliness and attentiveness add to the overall enjoyment of the meal. In conclusion, L'Etage Deauville offers a pleasant dining experience with its lovely view, good food, and attentive staff. If you prioritize a captivating ambiance and top-notch service, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. However, if you are seeking exceptional food at a more budget-friendly cost, you might want to explore other dining choices in the area.
Ali SMAES — Google review
Great: Appetizer (mushrooms) was delicious so were the Scallops - a bit of an unusual flavor combination with plantains but delicious as long as you have an open mind. Not so great: Surprised they didn't offer tablecloth; I'd expect as much in such a "chic" bistrot. Also for some reason, the waitress waited for us to finish our cocktails to place the order with the kitchen -> took a long time to get our food.
Eric Metens — Google review
Visited with my boyfriend. We had the lamb shoulder with dried fruit and fries on the side. The shoulder was dry as a bone with a cloying, sickly sauce and the frites were also dry and tasted frozen. We ate a couple of bites and then asked for the bill, whereupon we were smartly charged nearly €100 for the privilege. The staff did not offer to comp the lamb despite us eating virtually none of it. Would never come again.

A very good dinner experience in Deauville. To be honest, seeing the insane prices around the city I didn't really know what to expect from a 50€/menu in the center, but I was surprised. The dishes were all very good. The meat was tender and the fish was perfectly cooked, with very subtle sides that gave fine and original combinations. The soufflé au Grand Marnier in desert was also excellent. We didn't try the more expensive lobster menu. To finish, the service was great. They were attentive, quick, and all smiles. Truly a good experience, I recommend this place.
