Tapas bar
Spanish restaurant
Porta Tapas Bar is a trendy and urban eatery that celebrates Spanish cuisine in a casual and informal setting. Located close to Altrincham market, this tapas bar draws inspiration from the small independent bars found in Barcelona and Madrid. With lots of bar stools and casual tables, Porta creates a bustling atmosphere where customers can enjoy delicious food prepared by their skilled staff. The ambience is enhanced by the normal volume of background music, allowing for enjoyable conversations.
Unprompted visit with a friend. Beautiful place, brilliant service. We were looked after by Liza and she is wonderful asset to the restaurant, gave us a great advise on what to choose. Food was simply delicious. The restaurant has a nice outside area when the weather permits. Cannot wait to go back!

One of our favourite places to eat in Altrincham. Food is delicious & varied (for vegetarians & meat eaters). We always order the olives & tender stem broccoli (in a paprika paste with almonds). The staff are excellent, everyone is so cheerful & helpful. Best of all the service speedy! Tasty dishes appear in literally minutes. Atmosphere is lovely too.

Little gem. Absolutely loved it here. Food was so tasty and service wad quick and friendly. Recommend the hisby cabbage and tomato salad. Was to die for.

Best tapas we've had. Lovely staff, absolutely beautiful food and really nice atmosphere. Especially appreciate the normal volume of background music so you can actually have a chat. Top notch, lovely place. Well done to all

Originally traveled to Altrincham to go to the market but walked past this place and decided to give it try with my wife. It’s not often I leave reviews but I felt I had to, honestly, the food was just Amazing, really really tasty, great portion sizes & fairly priced. The staff were lovely and attentive We ordered wings, prawns, scallops, squid and a few other dishes and it was all cooked perfectly. We will definitely be making an effort to visit again. Good job guys !

Lovely little tapas place. In good weather it's nice to sit outside. Inside is not dog friendly so pray for good weather if you plan to come with your dog. The wines (especially the rioja) are great and all the dishes and service were excellent. I will be returning!
Charlotte Binks — Google review
Great location next to the market so on a nice day you can sit outside watching the world go by. Photos are blue cheese with pickled walnuts and honey, patatas bravas and the lamb meatballs. Staff were very pleasant.

Lovely little spot with great heart ❤️ staff were excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. Food was nic but... We've had nicer tapas in Manchester (in Sale and city centre), just more flavourful. But it was a nice evening.
Chantelle Horisberger — Google review
Very much enjoyed our Sunday afternoon trip to Porta. Fantastic tapas, each dish was awesome. We ordered Bread in oil, croquettes, prawns, potatas bravas, scallops and tenderstem broccoli. The lager on draft was cracking as well. Very relaxed atmosphere, prefect spot for people watching if you get a table outside. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Very reasonable price for the quality of food. Highly recommend!
James Wilson — Google review
It's a nicely decorated place, good for a light bite and drinks but not great for a main meal. The tapas portions are very small and a hit pricey. For example £7.75 for 4 King prawns is a bit miserly.
Canon Yau — Google review
Simply the best tapas in Greater Manchester.
Matthew Mcgahan — Google review
As always the food was delicious! I love that you have different specials each time I'm visiting. From the latest meal I can recommend: steak, broccoli with ajo blanco, croquetas, blue cheese with honey, and as always gordal olives!

Phenomenal tapas, incredible staff, went back the next night to try the rest of the menu. Can’t recommend enough

Restaurant
The Con Club is a trendy eatery in Altrincham that offers a diverse menu of classic meat and seafood dishes as well as sushi. Housed in a beautifully restored former working men's Conservative club, the venue boasts an industrial-style setting with distinct features like a large outdoor heated terrace, an intimate roof garden with a rooftop tipi, and even its own micro-brewery.
Came here for dinner and drinks. Ordered a few cocktails and they were all equally fabulous. Lovely staff and amazing service. The food they served were an absolute delight and tasted heavenly. Totally loved this place and will definitely be coming back!

- The staff really looked after us, kept checking in and making sure we had everything we needed - plus so chilled and happy to help with accommodating our large group. - Food was lovely, we all ordered the veggie roasts which were great sizes and then shared an incredible dessert! - Very good Coffee as well!!

I had a couple of hours to kill by myself in Altrincham. The market was too busy, so I thought I'd try the Con Club. It's an attractive venue, and a Sunday roast sounded good. As nice as the restaurant looks, I found it quite noisy. If I was with someone, I think I'd struggle to hear them without them raising their voice. Not a major issue but worth noting. I ordered roast lamb, but it seemed to be roast beef that I was given. I like beef, so it didn't seem worth complaining about. What I did have a problem with was that it cost £18.50 for one of the smallest roast dinners I have ever been served. You get a nice big Yorkshire pudding which pads out the plate and probably costs a couple of pence to make. Below that are a couple of slices of nice meat, then below that a tiny portion of veg, including one roast potato and a small piece of broccoli. As disappointing as the portion size was, the food itself was nice. Unfortunately, the company then have the audacity to add a 15% service charge on too. I dislike this trend at the best of times, but I'd pay 7.5% or 10% without too much of an issue. 15%, on the other hand, is absolutely ridiculous. I was only there for about 30 mins. All they did was bring me one beer and a plate of food. I then had to awkwardly tell them to remove the service fee. Surely a company charging a premium price for their food can also afford to pay their staff a decent wage in the first place?

Lovely place, the food was so good.... especially the chicken. Great place for a few drinks or bite to eat. Good atmosphere and the staff were great too. Definitely recommend :)

This place is busy and loud. Menu choices are a bit boring but food is alright..

I visited The Con Club with my husband and my 4 year old son. All the staff were very helpful and super friendly. They interacted with my son and the whole experience was enjoyable. The food was great and came out really fast too. Lovely vibe inside and relaxing. Thank you to management who trained their staff so well, you're doing a great job ☺️

Very nice place if you want to enjoy anything from breakfast, lunch or dinner meals to just cocktails. I went for lunch and had a few starters plus a delicious Salt & Pepper Tofu with crispy noodles and vermicelli. The restaurant is also very clean and staff very polite. I personally don't like places where there is loud music but I understand it's the norm mainly in these kind of restaurants specialised in cocktails. Despite that , there were few families with children and elderly people who were enjoying having their meals.
Andreas Chioppa — Google review
It's okay 🤷🏼‍♂️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ If other places were full, I'd eat here again. I wouldn't actively return as the food was only okay. We were originally going to order a chicken club then saw the table opposite had and changed our minds - it looked very unappetising 👎🏻 🐔 The best were the tempura prawns 🍤 Albeit, even they could have had a little more crunch 💥 White wine served less than cold but not quite warm - had to ask for ice 🧊 (appreciate some people are fine with that each to their own) 👌🏻 Staff are all nice though 🙏🏻 💜 LGBTQ+ friendly 🌈 xx

Had been to Con Club many many times, love this restaurant and highly recommended. Today, a friend has visited from far far away home town, therefore , brought him to one of the favourite places. Everyone were more than satisfied. Nice staffs, great foods, relax atmosphere. Specially like their Sunday Roast menu.

Came here for an early birthday for my mum and had the best meal!! Thought it was going to be a bit loud due to the bar area right next door but it was absolutely fine. Food was incredible quality and plated beautifully. Service was great, absolutely no complaints. Couldn’t fault it on anything, would highly recommend.

The Altrincham Market is a vibrant market with an indoor food hall and a covered area for craft and produce vendors. The market also has a play area. The market is worth visiting even if you don't want lovely coffee and chocolate - it has good, clean public toilets.
A wonderful market with a fantastic array of stalls. Homeware, jewellery, food (the honeyed cashews are INCREDIBLE), pet care, candles, so much! All vendors were lovely, and respectful of browsing (no pushiness). It’s a big enough space to browse for a little while but there are also food stalls with seating for you to pause and relax. Parking is a little tricky but it’s absolutely worth a visit.
Lydia Lowrence — Google review
I recall this place from my visits with Mum back in the 1960's, when it was still a proper indoor market. What a lovely tasteful transformation this is. To have such an abundance of quality eateries all in one place is wonderful and the addition of "Jack in the Box" a real/craft ale bar was the icing on the cake for me. Quality cask & craft keg ales from Black Jack brewery. I tried several, all of which were in great condition! We also sampled a selection of bites from the Pizza bar, which were all superb particularly the fresh Foccia bread. Ok, its not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, delicious! If you've never been here before i highly recommend the experience.

Splendid regeneration of heritage buildings set in well managed public realm. Worth visiting even if you don't want lovely coffee and chocolate. Good, clean, but small, public toilets.

I've never been here before, but I wasn't disappointed. Food was amazing and a nice little bar in the corner. Loads of different options to eat, food or dessert 🍨 Definitely will be back. Didn't have the pizza but they looked amazing, probably best to share one though between 2.

Really enjoyed the roasted squash, tagine, and Chicken shawarma (From Ruden). Exceptional! Yet, the coffee was a letdown—served cold after a lengthy wait. Suggest grabbing coffee elsewhere before getting in the market for fantastic food.
Harry Inuk — Google review
Perfect place to hang out with friends and family. I would strongly recommend go in spring and summer season because the area is in the outdoors so with cold weather it's not so conformable. I really enjoy the huge variety of little independent crafty shops that there are around the market, they make it special. The table setting and order's organization is always a excellent. However you must download one App to order everything, so go with the homework for home 🏠.

Nice marketplace with 3-4 foodplaces (pizza, taco, steak/hamburger) and 3 drinkplaces (beer, wine/softdrinks, coffee) and a central dining area. The quality of the pizza is really good (stoneoven, Italian style pizza), and so are the craft beers. The beeftacos are of good quality too. Atmosphere is great, friendly people. As you share tables contact is easily made.

(Detailed review below) Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambiance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accessibility ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great food from the pretty decent selection of food stalls. I was tempted by the pizzas but in the end I went for the steak sandwich from Tender Cow. It was really good but wolfed down way too quickly. A friend had the steak and eggs and I tried some of the salsa and it was absolutely divine! Definitely a dish I would order on my next visit. Overall, I really like this kind of hipster-ish food markets. You do pay slightly higher for the experience but certainly worth the treat. The other problem which you may get is finding an empty table since this market is very popular and usually busy. Also, the coffee from House Coffee is pretty good. I didn't get the usual acidic after taste so it went down very smooth

Great variety of little shops and vendors. Lots of foods and coffee shops also. Right next to library.

Yara Restaurant is a Lebanese and Syrian eatery located across two levels, offering delectable cuisine and friendly service. Aiming to provide a unique dining experience, the establishment pleasantly surprises its patrons with delicious food. To enhance the overall ambiance, improvements could be made to the drink menu. However, customers are able to bring their own wine or beer, which is certainly a positive aspect. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic Lebanese and Syrian flavors.
Absolutely fantastic. Popped in for Sunday lunch as really fancied some kebabs and hummus and this was some of the very best we have had. Everything we had was just perfect from the salads to the kebabs to rice. Great that you can bring your own wine too… I’ll be back soon with a bottle of red under my arm. Yum.

Fatima Eidi — Google review
Tried out this restaurant and unfortunately was disappointed. I have been to other Lebanese restaurants & the food has been tasty. But here from starters to mains, all dishes were sub- standard. The kebabs had a strong smoky taste and were dry, the rice wasn't cooked to perfection, the pastry wasn’t crisp enough & over all flavour was missing in the food. I hope they make improvements.

Amazing birthday meal here tonight! Great service from all the staff as well as delicious, flavourful food. Amongst the party we ordered lamb chops, chicken kebabs, chips, different kinds of rice, greek salad, halloumi, pita, moussaka and hamra stew, and all were absolutely fantastic!

Great food and good service. Thought we'd try something different this time and was pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious. Drink menu could do with work to complete the overall experience. It's all about the experience isn't it? They do do BYOB which is good though. Highly recommended 👌

Delicious food, nice staffs and quiet atmosphere Restaurant. Greek Salad is my all time favourite dish to goes with Lamb Shawarma, although I am not a lamb meat fan.

This was our favourite restaurant in Altrincham until this week. We had booked a table for two for 6.30 on Saturday. We arrived promptly and were shown to our table by nice young staff. We enjoyed (until 7.30), as always, a nice meal, served by polite young staff members. At 7.20, an older female staff-member (who seemed to be a manager/supervisor) put the bill (which we hadn't asked for!) in the middle of our table just as were enjoying our last mouthfuls, which we found highly unprofessional and rude. There was no mention when we booked the table that it was only for 1-hour, and we still had a full glass of wine each. A couple of minutes later the same staff member came over again and said "I'm sorry we need this table". We paid the bill and left. My advice is: Go to Yara and enjoy yourselves, but only if you can be certain that the lady mentioned above is not working there when you visit.

The food here is amazing! We had 2 starters, rice and a mixed kebab between two of us, the flavours were wonderful. Just make sure you leave room for the honey & walnut cake and the baklava...they were the best I've ever had!

Southern Italian restaurant
Italian restaurant
Tre Ciccio is a delightful eatery in Southern Italy that specializes in traditional dishes from Campagna, such as authentic Neapolitan pizza and succulent roasted chicken with potatoes. This charming restaurant offers a lovely outdoor terrace where diners can enjoy al fresco dining during the summer months, while cozy wood-burning fires keep everyone warm and comfortable throughout the winter. The food at Tre Ciccio is simply outstanding - of top-notch quality, exceptionally fresh, and bursting with incredible flavors.
Descend the stairs from the unprepossessing street level entrance, and you will find one of the best restaurants in Alty. Sitting in the ‘conservatory’ area, with the sun shining, you feel transported somewhere else entirely (Italy, hopefully!) The pizza is terrific, there are also a few pasta or Italian-style roast chicken dishes if you want something different. All beautifully done and authentically Italian. They know exactly what they’re doing here, and I hope they keep on doing it, indefinitely.
Mike Hayes — Google review
Nice Italian Pizzeria, all the food was really good, (I would like the pizza more like bread) And more space between tables, was really closer, and really noisy (not privacy at all). Really nice and friendly staff.
Anthony Pascal — Google review
This place is incredible.. can't believe we didn't even know about this perfect restaurant. The food was top class, fresh and super tasty. Considering there was a party of 20 of us the staff were so attentive and food was perfectly timed. When you walk in at street level, it appears to be a tiny take away establishment but the you go downstairs and this great sized, indoor/outdoor area appears. Try it, you won't be disappointed
sam hickson — Google review
I booked a table for 16 for my daughter’s birthday party and asked specifically about wheelchair access for a member of our party. I was assured they could accommodate us. However, there is no way of accessing the restaurant in a wheelchair. I emailed the manager to discuss this with them before leaving a review, to give them the opportunity to consider what my friend had to go through to be seated. They did not reply to me, therefore I’m leaving this review. The food was nice, not exceptional, but it should be clear on the website that the only way in to the restaurant is by steps and clearly staff need educating.

We visited Tre Ciccio with a group of friends. The pizzas were beyond amazing, with a perfect blend of flavors and the freshest ingredients. The service was top-notch, attentive and friendly, my only small comment is that our order took a bit too long to arrive to us. The environment was cozy and inviting, creating a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy the delicious food. I can't wait to return!

We used to love visiting their Bramhall restaurant so this was our first visit to Altrincham. Still amazing food and lovely atmosphere. Was great to celebrate our anniversary here
Kate Munns — Google review
Enter through the modest street-level entrance and descend the stairs to discover one of Alty's finest dining gems. As you sit in the sunlit 'conservatory' section, you're whisked away to what feels like Italy. The pizza here is exceptional, and for those in search of diversity, the menu offers delightful pasta dishes and a variety of Italian-style vegan selections, each crafted with care. Everything is beautifully prepared and genuinely Italian. The expertise is evident, and one can only hope they continue their culinary excellence.

Fantastic lovely tasting food we where a party off six got to say our main course on desserts very yummy
Matthew Brooks — Google review
The place looks tiny when you enter but once downstairs is surprisingly roomy. My favourite thing is the main dining area, the large table we were seated at and a view of the outside. The event was enjoyed by all and it was relaxing and the young waiting staff are attentive and pleasant. Downsides - it is a bit pricey IMO. My Margherita pizza was just average and the base was chewy and hard work for my jaw! There was only tomato sauce round the edges with the cheese concentrated in the middle, which I don't especially appreciate. The prawns on toast starter was lacking flavour as the prawns seemed like they were precooked and bland with any flavour only being in the garlic butter and were disappointedly not infused; plus the fresh chillies were more like red peppers with little heat. Sorry to say I've had better and in fact could make better. A couple of the party had chicken dishes which did look very nice (there is a piece of potato I was given from their dish, seen in the photo, placed on the pizza and it was tasty!) The olives on the pizza were an extra chargeable topping. No parmesan was offered and should have been on the table. Some of the mains are quite sizeable, and had we known would have skipped starters. Nothing complimentary was offered as often is, in many restaurants. A positive experience but my food was OK at best and nothing to rave about. Just to add, the manager - or perhaps he is the owner - hasn't got the best bedside manner and seems uptight - but I think that's his personality! I don't think he would deal with customer complaints well!!
Eudora — Google review
The food, service and atmosphere were lovely. It was around 15-16 pound for a pizza. The spicy roast chicken was excellent and a decent size. That was 19 pounds at the moment. I would highly recommend this place.

Booked a table for 4 on a busy Sunday afternoon. Really steep stairs to get to the table in Conservatory area, not sure if there’s another way in as this wasn’t offered from what I could see;if that could be an issue for you. Could see others coping just about with pushchairs etc. Thankfully they had heating on directly next to the table as it was very cold. Not much more I could ask for on that. Definitely the time of day we went it was a family friendly atmosphere to day the least. Staff were good looking after us and food arrived pretty quick all. We went for a mix of starters and roast chickens and pizzas for mains which were okay. Was disappointed to find they hadn’t prepared enough desserts in advance for us on the day. I think I’ll try Tre Ciccio again maybe on a warm summer evening! Hopefully the tiramisu will be ready next time.

My daughter visited with a 4 friends tonight, she had pizza sud and 2-3 hrs after she arrived home we have been battling with horrendous adverse effects from food poisoning for the last 7 hours. In the past, lots of us have been there, numerous times but tonight someone did not wash the greens ie basil that top the pizza? Or not wash theirs wash handling them? cause we got a nora virus infection. Do they wash raw food/vegetables before topping the pizza? Do they clean properly and watch cross contamination? Do they rinse surfaces or utensils etc after applying cleaning products? Were the toppings “expired”? I actually wanted to let the restaurant know by private email of that DANGEROUS experience tonight and to ask them to be vigilant in cleaning and washing products thoroughly as well as their hands when handling raw vegetables and greens and address possible cross contamination, but they do not have that option anywhere on their website.
