Italian restaurant
I visited Linguine Restaurant approximately four months ago and had an amazing time. Despite not having a reservation for a party of six on a busy Saturday night, the staff accommodated us, although we had to wait for about an hour. The service provided was exceptional; the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met. They were friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic throughout our visit. The quality of the food was outstanding across all three courses.
We (8 of us) enjoyed Christmas dinner at Linguine for the first time. Service was well organised, attentive and welcoming. All 3 courses were absolutely delicious. Starters - We tried everything from the homemade fishcake to the chicken terrine and butternut squash soup, all of which were fresh and really tasty. Mains - the turkey was melt in the mouth, the sirloin was outstanding and the salmon to die for. Dessert - everything was amazing, in particular the homemade cheesecake. All the staff were friendly and happy. A thoroughly enjoyable Christmas Day meal. At £60 per head, the experience represented extremely good value for money. Well done and thank you.

Great evening and perhaps the only criticism is the restaurant is a victim of its own success. I felt a bit crammed in and too close to other tables. Can't fault the lovely, friendly, hardworking staff. The food is great and they serve good portions.

This restaurant is an exceptional establishment in the area. The chef consistently goes above and beyond in every aspect. It never fails to offer exactly what you desire. I highly recommend this dining experience. Harry, you must try it.

The staff is very friendly. The food is really nice and very good for value (£12.95 for 3 course meal) Had pizza and pasta which are all very good :)

LOVE THIS PLACE! Every time i’m in Sale, I can’t go without visiting Linguini! Kindest people, greatest dishes, best amaretto:)

I went here about 4 months ago, and had the most fantastic experience. We had come in without a reservation, for a table of 6 on a Saturday night, and they said there was a table but we'd have to be an hour. Their service was second to none. They did everything they could to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and bubbly, and the food was outstanding - all three courses. Absolutely incredible. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Excellent. Hidden gem in Sale. Food and service is brilliant. Food is delicious. Their homemade Tiramisu is something you can eat all day long. Very cist. Will be going back.

I had the best Tuna salad main meal I’ve ever had. Husband had a fantastic pizza. The staff were very efficient and attentive. Aras, the manager was amazing and treated everyone with great kindness and respect. Altogether a fantastic team who worked brilliantly with each other. It was husband’s birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him and the atmosphere was brilliant 🤩

This place is a treasure for those on a budget. It's not fancy, but everyone who come in seem to be treated like a regular or close friend. We came in for an early bird dinner after securing a time slot of 5:15 with notice to vacate the table by 6:30. That's fine as that's plenty of time for a table of two. You get to choose from the main menu with dishes labelled with (eb) by the side. 2 courses for £9.95!! And 3 courses for £13.95!!! Yes, that's right. It's not a typo. Sorry I was hungry and forgot to take the pictures of the starters, but I can assure you it was just as nice as the main and dessert. The final verdict is. You don't always get what you pay for, because sometimes you get that little something special. The restaurant industry needs to survive, but they also know the customers are facing a financial crunch too. They didn't raise the prices to increase revenue. They just added more table and chairs and an extra sitting so that they can work harder and still allow the majority to enjoy this gratifying meal.

This is a lovely little restaurant. Lovely pizza and pasta, and the steaks are delicious. It has a ice friendly atmosphere and Aras and staff go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome appreciated. It gets very busy at peak times so definitely book. Much quieter mid-week.

Such a lovely little Italian. Delicious pizza and pasta, very good service! Was very impressed, we popped in on the off chance but thoroughly enjoyed. The pasta sauce was amazing and the people were so accommodating.

Great little place. Cozy. Charming. Inviting. Very helpful staff. Very clean. Excellent food. Excellent prices. Early bird offer was a find for us. Spent a night in Sale waiting for the next morning early flight from Manchester Airport. It just happened all other restaurants nearby were closed on Monday (be aware). Just under 10 pounds for a starter and a main of superb quality and presentation. Highly recommend.
Lana Edwards — Google review
Went for the early bird with my friends and we couldn’t have been more disappointed. My friends had the pizza and the portions were so small. I had the sea bass and it was so tasteless and clearly was not fresh. They charged us £5 for a lime soda which was ridiculous and on the website it says it’s £13.50 for 3 courses in the early bird but then in person it says it’s £11.50 for 2 courses and £4 if you want a dessert, 2 of my friends got desserts that then we found out were not included so they had to pay an additional £6 for these. We came as we thought it was be a nice and cheap meal out but it turned out expensive and didn’t taste very nice. The desserts however were delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive but not worth the money overall.

Italian restaurant
Borrello is a charming restaurant that serves delectable Italian cuisine in a delightful ambiance reminiscent of the "belpaese." The food quality is exceptional, from the appetizers to the main courses. It is an ideal choice for celebrating special occasions. The attentive service provided by Senor Felipe was simply outstanding! Borrello may be considered a traditional Italian eatery in Sale, without offering rare regional delicacies or innovative ingredients.
The restaurant staff are very warm and welcoming. The staff truly cared about our experience. The food is absolutely amazing – by far the best Italian restaurant in the city. The best meal we had in a while. Thank you guys. See you soon again.

Enjoyed an early evening mid week dinner with friend. We both had a delicious lasagna and a bottle of Merlot followed by lovely crème brûlée and ice cream. Great value and Rachel who served us was lovely.

There are number of Italian restaurants in Sale promoting 2 or 3 course early diner meals. They are all good and definitely value for money, but Borrello is definitely the best. @£13.95 for a 3 course meal with lovely tasting food and heartfelt service, they really can't be beat. The atmosphere is cosy but not trying to pack you in like sardines in other early bird diners in Sale that we've tried. They didn't rush you to get in another sitting too. The food was tasty and well presented. Overall this is a great budget friendly local Italian worth repeated visits

Absolutely love this place, we went for my sisters birthday, they were so accommodating for such a big party. Food was amazing, cooked perfectly and very tasty and all pretty much arrived at the same time, we actually got the chef to come out at the end so we could thank him personally. Lovely atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Good value for money, highly recommended. As it’s in the Main Street there is no parking, however there are a few parking places around. Will definitely be going again! 🙌

Generous portions, lots of variety and great service. Very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this Italian restaurant a minute walk from Sale Metrolink stop." (Photos from latest visit April 2024 - still great food and different but just as friendly team).

Just had the most brilliant service and gorgeous food served to us by the family that is Borello in Sale. The special occasion being that we were together as a family with no particular reason just that we could finally !! The atmosphere inside is fabulous. Not too big but the staff are amazing and non stop. We were so well looked after and the food and wine was plentiful and divine. Can't wait to go back !!! Thank you.

Absolutely incredible experience. I’ve lived in Sale for many years, yet as soon as we sat down, tasted the food, and experienced the incredible service, we were transported to Italy! Lovely meal, great ambience and music, but still so accessible transport-wise, would definitely recommend to anyone. It’s amazing in every aspect and I can’t overstate the quality of the good; my friend and I just looked at each other after the first bite!

I have been a regular at many restaurants and have tried various menus, but I have to say that the early bird menu at this particular restaurant is by far the best. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is always top-notch and you never feel rushed. Let's start with the food. The early bird menu offers a great selection of dishes, from traditional favorites to unique and creative options. Every time I have dined here, I have been blown away by the flavors and presentation of the dishes. The chefs truly know how to elevate the simplest of ingredients and turn them into a culinary masterpiece. And the best part? The price! The early bird menu offers a great value for the quality of food you receive. It's the perfect option for those looking for a great meal without breaking the bank. But it's not just the food that keeps me coming back, it's the impeccable service. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a warm and friendly smile. The staff is always attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations and accommodating any dietary restrictions. I have never had a bad experience with the service here, and it's clear that the staff takes pride in providing the best dining experience for their guests. And what sets this restaurant apart from others is that you never feel rushed. I have been to many restaurants where the staff is constantly trying to turn over tables and rush you through your meal. But at this restaurant, they understand the importance of enjoying a meal at a leisurely pace. You can truly relax and savor each bite without feeling pressured to finish quickly. It's a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of other restaurants. In conclusion, the early bird menu at this restaurant is the best. The food is outstanding, the service is top-notch, and you never feel rushed. It's the perfect combination for a great dining experience. I highly recommend giving it a try, you won't be disappointed.

From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt welcomed by the Manager: Aris and the menber of staff. The food was delicious and also the service. Over Christmas however the restaurant was busy, they made sure to treat us with a very friendly and welcoming manner. The food was very delicious. Especially the prawn dish.

The service was very slow first 2 meals arrived then it was another 15 minutes before any more came out. Food looked like it had been thrown together children's pizza was dry and inedible, staff spent more time on their phones and chatting to each other. Nice lad behind the bar very attentive and polite prompt service, poor manger seemed run off her feet and flustered. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Wednesday evening dead, no staff, single server was uninterested and dismissive but food was of good quality and prepared well. Thursday morning breakfast was better with good staff levels and good service. Wide range of breakfast items.

The staff at this pub go above and beyond for their customers...after my Aunt fell ill whilst dining there the staff were absolutely amazing!! They came over to check what was happening and immediately knew it was serious and the lovely waitress called an ambulance for us on her mobile while another lady came from the kitchen to see if they could help and administer first aid. As I spoke to the ambulance service they both comforted my Mum who was in shock and extremely upset as my aunt appeared gravely ill..they 2 stayed with us as my Aunt eventually came to, and never left her side until the paramedics arrived. I cannot thank them and the rest of the staff for the care shown to us that evening and for the rest of our stay as we were in the Premier Inn next door. When my aunt left hospital the next afternoon and went back to the pub the waitress from the night before gave my Aunt a huge hug and said how glad they were to see her looking so much better..also the lady from the kitchen came out and had a chat and was also glad to see her. The kindness shown from these lovely people was astonishing as they genuinely cared. It wasn't just part of their job. The atmosphere in the pub is fantastic and staff cannot do enough for you in general when dining there. The food is excellent. Service quick and efficient. The outstanding team who work there create a feeling of warmth and kindness. I can never thank them enough for helping us and showing the care and generosity that they did. We will definitely be back when on our next road trip.

A two night stay, Tuesday - Thursday, at the adjacent premier inn, the Wednesday breakfast was passable at best, Thursday morning was atrocious at best, firstly no orange juice, a breakfast staple in my eyes, same as the previous day my scrambled eggs, sausage and mushroom eventually got delivered to the table, here enters the word atrocious, how is it possible to serve under cooked yet BURNT mushrooms (see pics). We also decided on a quick evening meal on Wednesday, bad decision, everywhere and I mean everywhere was sticky, the bar top, table and even the menus, the order was placed, Scampi chips and peas twice this was after showing the bar staff what I wanted on the menu, because she didn't understand, eventually out came two plates of Haddock chips and peas, back up to the counter to explain that the brain dead serving staff had got it wrong with apologies and promises they would sort it out I returned to the table out came the food plates, one of Scampi chips and peas one of Haddock chips and peas, eventually we did manage to eat with the thought never again.

Lovely and friendly atmosphere. I had the mixed grill which is a belly buster of a meal and the unlimited breakfast is a winner. Highly recommended and a big thank you to the beautiful Claire and the lovely Sophie for being so being so helpful and friendly

Kids enjoyed the play area, I think perhaps the staff could do with a bit of training as service was just a little strange. I think I've just got used to great service in local restaurants recently so this place stands out. I've nothing against the place and will probably go again, just will lower my expectations a bit.

I've not been here in a while, 3 years Food was scrumptious. Hot and delivered promptly with polite service. Found the decor, fresh, spacious, and comfortable. It has been redesigned to cater for all, cozy, and intimate areas and spacious areas to partake in merriment.

I visited this pub while staying at the Premier Inn next door. The staff were very friendly on arrival and directed me to sit anywhere I wanted and told me how to order. I ordered cheesy garlic bread for starter and fish and chips for my main. Both were very tasty and well cooked. Staff were fsbrastic throughout and happily recommend this pub

Although this place is large, it was very quiet during the school holidays. There is a ball pit play area seating next to it. So you can watch while eating if you have children. The food was not great, but I did the job. Standard taste and presentation. If you have a bonus card, you can get 30% off the bill. Staff is not very friendly, no smiles welcoming, or checking on customers to see if everything was OK. Must have been short staffed. The table across from me was left with mountains of dirty dishes and flies gathering because it was left the whole entire time we were having our dinner. It was not busy either. Children in the play area are not watched properly by some parents had to go have a word with one parent because child was being rough and bullying other children.

Not the best of places to go to. Food wasn't great. Looked lifeless. The coleslaw just contained the carrot and cabbage, no mayonnaise. I asked for some real coleslaw though and they were happy to get some prepared for us. One thing that wasn't great - our grandchild is autistic and is fussy with the colour of his food. They could have been a bit more understanding and helpful when we asked for a little bit of flexibility with the food order. It wasn't a major ask, just a little bit extra plain white pasta because he won't eat the other colours. Alongside this, it took a fair while for the food to come out and then even longer for the dessert. The staff are quite polite and helpful otherwise.
Peter Purcell — Google review
This place used to be amazing. It's looking so tired and dated now. Even though the staff can not do enough for you and are lovely, the whole place just needs a face lift and a glow up. Went for breakfast and were served quickly. Food was lovely, best poached eggs I've had in a long time!!! Everything else was just OK. The tea and coffee area was so messy and needed a good clean but the options were vast and you are never short of something to choose from
Laura Jones — Google review
Food just warm apart from microwaved chicken which was hot. The other meal steak and ale pie chips and peas just warm was charged for extra gravy which we never asked for. The desserts were very nice. First time at this restaurant won't be going back. The girl who took our order was unfriendly more concerned about her fake eyelashes. The lads there were nice.

American restaurant
This casual chain restaurant offers great food and a festive vibe, with drinks available including beer, cocktails and a wide selection of American fare. The service can be a little slow but the main waiter is amazing and so friendly.
We popped in here for a few starters to share and a couple of drinks. It was busy and gave the restaurant a nice atmosphere. The waitress that looked after us was great & the food was as good as what you'd get at any TGI Fridays.

The starters and the dessert were lovely but the mains wasn't for me it was undercooked, bacon to crispy and to much salad. The chips were ruined by the amount of salt that was on it. Its a lovely place with very good service really polite and helpful staff

Almost didn’t go because of the number of bad reviews this place is getting. I’m glad we went, as we had a good time, and I feel the reviews are not representative of the typical experience here. It perhaps wasn’t ‘service with a smile’ but it was at least attentive and accurate. The food was generally enjoyable, with a good drinks selection, although it is seriously overpriced. I would only recommend going when there is some deal or offer one, don’t go full price as the prices are insane. Good atmosphere on a Saturday evening

Such a disappointing recent visit. TGI’s used to be THE place to go for our family, however after 2 poor visits we will no longer be customers here. Upon entering the branch, we had to wait to be seated, no staff to be seen anywhere, with only three other customers we would have expected a fast welcome. Finally someone came over and we were seated, atmosphere was poor and the waiting staff barely said a word to us. Shocked to see how much of a price increase was on the menu, over priced items. Food arrived quickly and was to the usual standard however again waiting staff didn’t show any attention to the table or ask how the food was etc. A shame for us as we’ve enjoyed many years eating here, eating out a restaurant is a rare treat for many and you want it to be a positive experience. I’d suggest bringing back the atmosphere the team used to have and you may see more regular custom!

TGIs Sale used to be a very busy bar! Post covid it seems to have large quiet gaps! But they're not doing anything essentially wrong! They have to staff accordingly so even a small rush sometimes will result in a lengthy wait at the bar! But still fun ,friendly and well priced!
Paul Garner — Google review
I went to the TGI Fridays in sale and I have to admit I was extremely disappointed. Not only was this a treat for my birthday, it was one of the worst experiences I have had. We were the second guests to arrive and our orders were taken quickly which was great, however this is where it stopped. We went to have the downtown menu as it was great value for money. We were told that it wasn't on offer on a Sunday, which my wife quickly advised them it was. The server went away to check and then came back and said we were right. We made our order and the starters came in a reasonable time. A little later our mains came, however my daughter's hotdog was cremated and the bun was rock hard. The squeezy cheese and ketchup which we asked for on the side was replaced with grated cheese and invisible ketchup. We tried to get a servers attention but they were non-existent. My wife stood by the kitchen door until someone came and they took it away. They later came back with the replacement, again grated cheese and we had to ask for ketchup. A little later we were asked if one of us wanted a top-up for their drink. We were pretty much left. After eating our mains we decided to call it quits and asked for the bill. It literally took 20 minutes for them to come with the bill. We told them we would pay by card and they went away to get a card machine. When checking the receipt, they had tried to charge us for two hotdogs. Didn't realise they wanted us to pay for their first attempt at one of the easiest things on the menu. This was then corrected and we paid and left. Not sure who is running this location as it had slipped greatly since the last time we visited. Not in any rush to go back there again.

Been some time since we was at tgi Fridays, we still wasn't happy. Yes we booked in and got our table fast, but we was cold while waiting, starter was nice and hot, when we got our mains my wife order the Lemon & garlic chicken, wheres the chicken lol. I order the Steak med rare. The steak I wasn't happy too chewy had about half of it just left rest of the food. That was a big let down couldn't wait to get out.

Had the fantastic meat platter, the food was incredible! Our waitress Savannah was so helpful and efficient and always kept our drinks topped up, a true credit to TGI’s Just a shame prices have increased so much due to cost of living (4 mozarella dipper starter is now £9.80 compared to around £5 just a few years ago) otherwise we’d love to come back much more often! Highly recommended! 🤩

Booked a table for 7.30 had to wait half hour for table to be seated on opposite side a restaurant which was completely empty, so why the wait,,,,the servers were great when they eventually arrived , food was good , over priced some over salted so if your watching salt levels I'd say when ordering

Not once was we asked if we wanted drinks, had to get up and go and ask each time. Waited 35 mins for starters to come, chips were under cooked. Overall experience was just poor and in future will go elsewhere.

Good Friday evening dinner with family at TGI Friday. We wanted to have some fast food with some American ambience which this place has got. I ordered Red Hot Grilled Chicken burger with fries and my wife ordered Texmex Salad 🥗. Kids meal came free with each main meal. Everything was great except my burger. The chicken in the burger was overly cooked, which made the taste bitter, very dry and hard. The burger didn't have any flavours. I had to ask for a hot sauce separately as no taste in the burger. I wouldn't recommend this burger item to anyone if it's made the same way. Rest everything was fine. Sharing some pictures.

Never ever again will l ever eat from this place again. Two cocktails for £16 with very little alcohol content. Could not taste the alcohol. The food was the worst ever. Boneless chicken wings were pieces of dried chicken in bread crumbs tossed on top of a plate of salad. Hardly appealing. My friends plate of food with bearley enough food on it was laughable. The price was outrageous for what we ordered. Both servers were miserable and not even a smile between them. I asked for a take out box and scraped the content into it. I didn't want them to serve the pieces of untouched chicken pieces to the next customer just in case they picked it from the plate. I threw it in the bin. TGI Friday's use to be a nice place to eat many years ago. It's well below standard unfortunately.

A good night out. The food was as good as I would expect for a chain restaurant like this, the service was excellent and the place was busy enough to have atmosphere but quiet enough to enjoy a good conversation with my fellow eater. All in all, I'd go again but t think it would have been a little over priced had I not been able to use my blue light card.
Ruth Alison Davies — Google review
The menu has been reduced as has the size of the portions. The prices have been increased - best part of £20 for the chicken strips - felt that I'd been ripped off. The place was filthy with rubbish and bits of food all over the floor. It used to be a decent place but it is being run in to the ground. I feel sorry for the staff as they were nice but there wasn't enough of them to give a decent level of service and to keep on top of the cleaning. It feels like the chain is about to go bust.

Bar & grill
Located on the outskirts of Sale Water Park, The Boathouse bar and grill offers customers a chance to dine while enjoying picturesque views of the water park. With its open all-day service, this restaurant caters to various food preferences. Some positive aspects include the breathtaking scenery and helpful staff, alongside ample parking during less busy times. However, there are a few drawbacks such as average food quality for the price and portion sizes, and inadequate air circulation leading to strong frying oil smells.
I've not been here for year and after today I don't know why I don't go more often. There's a fantastic view of the lake from the restaurant. My friends and I all had the early bird menu option. I had smoked mackerel pate with cream cheese, toast and a small salad. My friends had broccoli soup with poppy seed bread and butter. And tuna and egg with salad. Cheese and onion pie with magnificent crispy, crunchy chips and beans. Steak pie with lots of steak in the filling and gravy and a haddock and chips. Three of us had soft whippy ice cream and sauce and an apple and blackberry crumble and custard was devoured very quickly. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We'll definitely be back

My first time here. A birthday party with 14 ladies. Stewart, our lead server was a champ! So patient and accomodating. All the staff were terrific! The menu was a set meal. I had the pea soup, pie, veggies and gravy and cheesecake with ice cream, all vegan. The singer was amazing, the atmosphere deluxe, what a great, memorable night. Wonderful place!

Been here so often over the years and can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. The staff are really warming and helpful and the menu is just what you'd expect from a typical English restaurant that's well established with choices such as prawn cocktail, breaded garlic mushrooms and pate starters to a selection of steaks, fish, chicken and vegetarian option main meals. Recently I had the mixed grill and had to share with my boy as it was amazing and the plate was full of perfectly cooked meats and sides. The steak at 6oz was to die for. Also the view out into sale water park just adds to the atmosphere of the place. We'll worth a visit and you can always burn off the calories with a walk round the park afterwards 👍

We all had deserts for less than £20. Staff were very good. We would certainly recommend

I visited with my wife during the Christmas break. I've not been for a few years and the food quality was much better than I had remembered it being previously. The service was very good. I had very recently had surgery and they went out of their way to make me comfortable changing my chair to something more comfortable for my stomach.

Pros Stunning view and beautiful scenery. Enough parking space out of extremely busy hours. Helpful and friendly service. Cons Average food quality for the price and portions served. It could do better regarding air circulation/condition as the smell of frying oil is extremely strong. Not very kids friendly, especially if you have a pram(elevator out of service).

The best food I had since last 2 years in manchester. Have tried many places, but this place gave that warm feeling and a essnse of increased appetite when I went there. It's really a nice place to visit with good view and food. Fresh food is what made me write this review. Keep it up guys @ The Boathouse.

I have been quite a few times, and every time has been wonderful. The service is brilliant, staff always very helpful, and friendly. Food is amazing, we are a family of 10 and none of us have had a bad meal. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to going again.

Had a great dinner! Brilliant view and service! We had fantastic haddock, cod and scampi with raspberry pavlova and cheese cake! Will definitely come again!

Visited on a Sunday around 6:30/7pm. We didn’t book a table but we were seated straight away. Our food was lovely, I would recommend the Garlic Bread starter and the Haddock and Chips. Also really generous portion sizes. Good service, and really nice views of the lake.
