Grilled fish, seafood platters & pasta dishes on a large outdoor terrace with views of the sea.
I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant in Marzamemi and it was an unforgettable experience! The location was great, with beautiful views to the ocean that added to the overall atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The owner was particularly awesome, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The food was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of Siciliaan dishes to choose from. It's no wonder this restaurant is so popular and a trending spot - you might even get to rub elbows with some celebrities! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting South East of Sicily.

Disappointing service by a Michelin restaurant. Really nice location in a square at the beautiful town of Marzamemi. The food quality is a typical story of Sicilian excellence. We both had some really good pasta. A bit too expensive for the kind of lunch menu, with really small starters and cheap bread. If you decide to eat something at Taverna La Cialoma, you will not be disappointed, but we expected something extra from a Michelin restaurant. Food quality is a strong 4 star. The service on the other hand was really disappointing. Slow service, no one gave any explanation of any of the dishes and a very slow removal of the dishes after people had eaten, ending in the restaurant attracted plenty of flies. Took a long time before we got the desert menu and no one came by to collect the order. After 15 minutes of waiting we decided to get the bill and save the dessert for another place and occasion. Several people also went inside to pay since no one came by to collect payment by card.

Let me say that this is one of the best locations I have ever seen in Sicily. Not many restaurants are so lucky to have a terrace literally inside the sea. The staff members were very polite and knowledge, they spent time to explain to me every single food feature. The food quality is a typical story of Sicilian excellence, however, although they are justified by the short working period, the price is little bit too expensive for this kind of menu, that's why 4 stars and not 5. By the way if you decide to eat something from them, you will not be disappointed.

We had a pleasant and relaxed lunch at this Michelin Guide restaurant, enjoying the sea view from the cozy terrace. The food was simple but carefully cooked with fresh ingredients of the highest quality, making for a genuinely Sicilian experience! Kudos to Nonna Lisa who combines passion and experience in her cooking!

Beautiful setting and location but horrible service. Waited 50 minutes to sit down with two children. Got ignored once we sat down. Food was at best average and the service was a disaster. They brought us our drinks once we consumed all our food even though we reminded them 4 times. €200 for 4 adults and every other restaurant in the square looks better.

I must say that I am highly disappointed after all these years. La Cialoma belonged to one of the restaurants I have always liked to go,next to my favourite place Cortile Arabo. However, this year I felt like being in a tourist trap. The restaurant is perfectly located on the main square with an arrangement of tables that has prevented me almost to breath (I am 190cm/88kg). If you look at my photo 📸 you will see what I mean. Once seated you are stuck. Seating is not the most important in a restaurant but belongs to the whole. Unfortunately the food was not convincing either. The datterino tomato salad for 7€ was cheek... A handful datterino tomatoes a bit evoo and that's it. OK, good km0 tomatoes, good evoo but not that way and not for this price. The staff was friendly but like the food without love and soul. As initially said, it felt like being in a cheap tourist trap. A lot of people, rushing for making the table ready for the next ones. I do understand that after Covid one wants to catch up. This has been done but by dramatically decreasing the quality. In my eyes a bad management decision. You have lost a regular customer and I am sure more customers think in a similar way. I wish you a plenty of success with your new concept. Conclusion: no recommendation for the people who love quality

A great variety of seafood influenced selections as well as fresh seafood itself. We asked to see the fish of the day and they showed us a platter with at least 4 varieties, very fresh. Beautiful outdoor patio on the square with shade umbrellas.

Really loved my lunch here. Firstly, the setting is just gorgeous. All the details, from the flower pots to the paint- superb. Menu is very simple but everything is done well. I had the fried anchovies which were fantastic, and the fusilli with tomato and almond pesto. Highly recommend this spot. If you can sit ocean side even better!
Charley Friedman — Google review
Excellent service and price is equal to quality of the food. The location is the best square to eat in all of Marzamemi. The seafood is all fresh and very well prepared. Can’t go wrong here. The fish soup was a knockout.
Dany Le Goaix — Google review
Delicious food, excellent service and the Best of all, the place! The tables on the front of the taverna, at the site of the square are lovely but the terrace at the side of the sea is absolutelly wonderful!
Fernando Linares — Google review
Watch out to the bill! Ours was overcharged. The "fish of the day" was 20 euro per portion in the menu, while in the bill it was charged with 26 euro. We wonder how much a prosecco bottle was in the menu, as in the bill it was 40 euro. 🥴 Too bad they spoiled our overall impression, as the atmosphere was really nice.

I was skeptical after reading all the negative reviews. I could have missed out on such a wonderful experience!! 1) Service is not fast pace, we’re in Italy and we’re on vacation. Don’t expect it. Stop giving low scores based on slow service. Timing of the food coming out was great! Our waitstaff was amazinggg, gave wonderful suggestions like the local bottle of wine and it paired perfectly with all the food. Incredible! 2) You MUST GET TUNA! Marzamemi is a fishing village and they fish for RED TUNA! That’s what those boats in the marina do. 3) They definitely deserve the Michelin nod. The wine list was fantastic and the food was out of this world. We noticed the menu changed from other reviews. 4) I noticed some of the pics in the reviews, they were posting the wrong restaurant. This is the restaurant that is in the square, the center. Not on the sea. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We ordered marinated red tuna with beet cream and cucumber, pasta with tuna ragu, pasta with sardine, grouper fish with tomato and capers, tomato salad.

Very friendly service. I came to this place after having visited the bar Al Ciclope of Puchino many times. Although the have the same owner I must say the time I visited this one, the nocciola ice cream wasn't as good the one in Puchino. Not bad though.

According to us and our Italian friends as well - very good granita and pastry! The granita was more liquid but good. Nice sea view.

Restaurant
Ristorante Cortile Arabo a Marzamemi is a charming seafood eatery located in the heart of the old fishing village, offering an intimate and picturesque dining experience. The restaurant boasts an airy whitewashed venue with a large waterfront terrace, providing stunning views of the sea. The courtyard is adorned with ancient stones and white and blue majolica tiles, creating a historic yet elegant ambiance.
We had dinner in this beautiful restaurant with my fiance'. It was a Saturday night and we did not have a reservation, but the staff made everything possible to accomodate our request. The food is very nice, we have ordered several courses (you can see the pictures) and everything was delicious. Very interesting was the oil emulsion, served in a toothpaste tube..very lovely experience. Also the tomato dessert..delicious. We also had a drink in their bar, it is a beautiful lounge area right on the see. Definitely recommended. Staff speaks great English.

The location was very pleasant and typically for the old town of Marzemino. It is a small and well managed restaurant offering excellent food and service. Strongly recommended

A fabulous lunch ! This rates up there with the best Michelin restaurants we have attended. We had starters, shared first course and mains. Plus dessert. The white wine was local and superb. The staff are fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Everything was super, and the towelettes were amazing! Highly recommend.

Had a really nice dinner with my fiancee, food is great, and if you call ahead to reserve (as I did), you can secure a spot on the patio outside overlooking the sea, very suggestive. As for the food, very nice, started with two appetizers, one of which was an interesting take on "pasta alle sarde" without carbohydrates, very interesting and tasty. The other appetizer was a tuna carpaccio (they didn't have the swordfish which was our first choice). As for entree, we had a risotto with seafood and burrata, which it would seem not a good combo, but worked really well. The other entree was a typical Sicilian seafood spaghetti, very simple in preparation but so tasty, it was like sampling the fresh flavors of the sea with each bite. For second we shared the ricciola, very nice prepared and nice and light. We finished with a delicate, not too sweet cannolo. Service was very nice, and the view so romantic, would definitely be back.

The view is nice, really close to the water. The seats outside are worth it! The staff is polite and nice, and they try to provide a personalized experience, explaining each dish and being available. The food was not as good as expected- “Fancy” looking, but expensive and average taste

A unique bar on the beach in Marcemami. The service is as it should be, attentive and not intrusive. They offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Along with the order, they also offer compliments.

Wonderful. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic wait staff and epic food. We opted not to do the 5 course meal and regretted it! You can spend a reasonable amount or a lot, it is up to you. Definitely worth booking at table and trying this place! You will not be disappointed!

Seaside location is picture perfect and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Our lunch was tasty and prepared with a great deal of creativity (anchovy ice cream as a starter!). We shared our meal and some great local wine. A most relaxing afternoon dining experience.

Fantastic service, Michelin Star level food and probably the best location and atmosphere I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. You are right on the water and the food is incredible. Also, at the end of the night, the chef came out and talked to us, super nice guy! Highly recommended. Oh, and they also have a very good wine selection!

Was there over lunch with 3 children. Super sweet service, and the food is really extraordinary. Bit experimental, and this is what you expect from an uprunning place. Gracie!
Christian Mangold — Google review
Good service, excellent view and white terrace that makes a lovely contrast to the sea. Prices and food portions however are similar to those of a Michelin restaurant still missing the complete level of taste in the food. Happy to see the effort to improve the quality in this city

Liccamuciula offers a unique dining experience in Marzamemi, a charming fishing village with a rich history. The restaurant embodies traditional Sicilian cuisine, featuring dishes prepared with fresh ingredients from the pantry and garden. The menu includes almond biscuits, tomato chutney, tuna "ghetto," and Sicilian cheesecake with cannoli and pistachio.
Delicious meat/cheese and seafood tapas plates. Quick and efficient service. Cute town.

We choose this restaurant for an easy late lunch/aperitif as we were pretty tired from the flight. The service was ok, maybe a bit distant and cold. Food was tasty and quite large portions. The table outside are the vest especially during an hot summer evening. Overall, the experience was not bad but it did not leave an impression on us.

The restaurant is at a very beautiful spot. the decor and the prices make you think that you will eat great food. That was not the case. ( But that was a problem in Sicily in general ) We order 2 plates of pasta, one caponata, one tuna bianco, a fish and we ordered 2 bottles of white wine. The wine and the fish were really good, tasty and value for money 👍 All of the other dishes were badly cooked and presented like a homemade food from your mom. Not something you expect from a place like this. The problem with the waiters was that they asked you if everything is ok every 3 minutes and they were always trying to take our plate while still eating ! They were trying to empty the tables fast so they could refill again. The deserts were like they have been bought from a local bakery. They were not even trying. We paid around 50€ per person only to be hungry and disappointed
Amalia Charala — Google review
The food was absolutely terrible, but fortunately it was also expensive. Way overpriced place with slow service (that you are charged 10%) that forgets what you have ordered (and then you find it anyway on your bill). 20€ plate of different types of local fish was a plate of few different kind of fish… from CAN. I believe being local means it was bought in local supermarket. Great tourist trap 👌🏻

What a beautiful little corner. Loved those pretty details inside and enjoyed our aperitivo in the patio outside, right in the small busy square of Marzamemi. We had two small delicious (non-pretentious) dishes, tuna, and local cheese together with our drinks and enjoyed so much our time there

Love love love this spot in the plaza! Not only with a great shop but great location. The staff was friendly & ready to serve you. Food was good & quickly delivered. The decor is bohemian chic & is just s great charming spot to enjoy a bite, drink, dessert or s full meal. Trust me when you see it, you'll know which one it is.

Prologo e Romanzo, an amazing sequence of dishes. Great and competent Valentina who described the dishes to us. A plause to the chef for the preparation and presentation. Caponata, tasting of tuna products, baked amberjack and swordfish au gratin. A good Grillo wine to drink along with the dishes delighted the evening. Congratulations, highly recommended, also for the good value for money.

Located in the historical center of the town is one of the best places to try local cuisine. Freshly fished tuna is really great. Restaurant is lovely and cozy inside but I recommend getting table outside to enjoy mesmerising view of the city plaza.

We had lunch here. A salad made of different fishes (very tasty and fresh), a pair of birra Messina, a cheesecake made of sicilian lemon (I do not recommend because it´s seems not to be handmade) two coffees and a amaro amaretto. Nice place, nice waiters and food ok. I would go back.

(Translated by Google) Quality worse than cheap, the sandwiches are dry and with nothing inside, but above all we waited 1 hour and a half for 4 Margherita pizzas, tasteless and burnt. In the meantime, the rudeness of the staff stands out, making you wait 100 minutes, friends and relatives at most 10. A star because there is no less, but they deserve to close today. (Translated by Google) There are 6 of us, and we see this place which also advertises kebabs, an unusual food to eat in these places, but nevertheless we decide to consider the idea of stopping. In the meantime, I am preparing to go to the bathroom, and I am immediately called back by the owner (or presumed to be one), who tells me that it is not a public bathroom and therefore I have to consume to use the service. Even though he tries to explain that we were about to stop, the guy doesn't listen to reason, so I diplomatically tell him to fuck off. I hope that the person I'm talking about reads this review, and I therefore invite him to reflect on the fact that by putting yourself in this way, not knowing who you are dealing with, you can also risk a "differently polite" reaction than the one I had. And perhaps I also understand why at around 8pm the place was empty. There is certainly no shortage of clubs in Marzamemi, and I personally wouldn't go to this one again, even if it were the last one left in the place.
