It is such a good place in an ordinary seaside town. Actually, a restaurant on the pavement along a narrow street. However, it is teeming with people and a place is hard to find. We managed to book a table one day ahead. Unfortunately, we were very hungry to take photos of everything.

Finally found the best seafood restaurant in South-East Sicily. Hard to book, given the demand, but totally worth it! Oh, and prices are very accessible too

If you like fresh fish, this place is a must! Just let yourself being guided by one of their waiters. Best restaurant while our stay in Sicily.

truly one of the best restaurants I've ever been. lots of the freshest fish you can eat with great pasta and other Sicilian options. the red shrimp spaghetti is a national treasure. English spoken, make a reservation as all locals know this place too.

We stumbled across this lovely restaurant after visiting the local beach and it was the best meal of our holiday. INCREDIBLE seafood, we shared the raw and the cooked seafood antipasti and some oysters. The raw antipasti was the highlight, but everything was delicious - perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The service was delightful and the local white wine (I wasn't given any more detail than that) was the best white wine I drank on our holiday.

Very nice seafood restaurant. Probably well known among locals but a hidden gem for tourists.

We have been there like two years back during the lunch time and since we were very satisfied we decided to celebrate our special day out there. I regret that decision now. As first service was not up to pair. We have received undercooked fish! When we inform service they just said ohh undercooked then just took a plate without saying even sorry! then they brought my plate so i share with my husband. We were waiting anotger 30 min for dish which previously arrived and was not being properly prepared. When collecting the plates waitress dropped knife on the floor and until the end of our visit noone lifted it .. I was so dissapointed with literarly everything, not saying about my husband who is from Sicily. We do not reccomend this place anymore and we won't be back there.

The owner waited on us and spoke a little English which was nice. The squid ink and pasta was amazing! The oyster were huge and fresh. This is a must stop while your in town.

Best seafood restaurant in Portopalo Fresh seafood presented well. Traditional with a hint of uniqueness in some presentations of local cuisine. Family run with attentive service. Highly recommended

One of the best fish restaurant on Sicily. Maybe the best. Nice attentive service, amazing dishes. Order the antipasti of raw fresh gambas, shrimps, anchofish. Great oysters, excellent pasta di mare con pistacchio. Simple decor, insight the usual bright light as in many restaurants in Italy. Outside terrace on the street.

Seafood restaurant
U Piscaturi is a seafood restaurant that offers generous portions, decent flavors, and reasonable prices. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance as the place tends to get crowded, leaving others waiting for an available table. The wait time for service was acceptable, considering the circumstances. The food exceeded expectations since quantity doesn't always equate to quality. However, it was disappointing that a glass of sorbetto cost 5, which seemed excessive compared to other menu items.
Massive portions, fantastic, addictive flavours. Was recommended here by locals. One pasta is enough to feed a family of 4. Got the linguine with Gambero Rosso because they were out of Lobster. Couldn’t stop eating even though I was stuffed!

Calamari fritti NON freschi...vedete voi il colore!! C'era troppo olio aggiunto su ogni piatto che serviva solo per mascherare il fatto che niente era fresco. Mai mangiato così male. Yes this place has giant portions but that doesnt necessarily mean top quality. The food is NOT fresh and has so much oil on it that it serves only to mask the fact that nothing is fresh. Even though this was suggested to us by locals, there are much better places to eat spending the same amount. Shop around and dont waste your money here. And seeing the responses from the owner, they don't even care that people complain. Don't go to a place where they dont listen to the customers...they only want your money!

Giant rations, fair enough taste, affordable cost. We reserved a table for 6 people by phone a day before. The restaurant was really crowded, with people (without reservation) waiting for a free sit. We waited 25 minutes to be served, in my opinion it was a fair amount of a time. Nobody will tell you this, but rations are considered for at least two people (perfect for three). The price is almost 10€ per dish. I was surprised: all was really good, against my expectations, as usually quantity does not mean quality. We were disappointed just for one thing: it is incredible to pay 5€ for a glass of sorbetto. This was really a trap, if compared to other dishes prices in the menu. Beside that, I will likely come here again.

The fish is super fresh and outstanding quality. I'd add more vegetables to the fish dishes. At the end you get tired of so much -only- seafood. But overall is a great choice if you love seafood.

We've been 10 days in Sicily (Syracusa and then Portopalo di capo passero) and THE beat meal and service tonight! Wonderful antipasti: gambero rosso crudo and then amazing paccheri ai ricci di mare (excuse translate!) and such a great team cooking and serving! Wonderful evening out in this restaurant.

Eat fish and look at pictures of fish. Front room nicely lit, back room reminiscent of a school dinner hall. Wife assures me the fish was lovely. Place doesn't serve beer - not a deal breaker but worth knowing before you go I reckon!

Really shady - they tried to overcharge us 40 euros - for example the wine which was 20 euros on the menu, all of a sudden on the bill became 28 euros - they also added other random items which we didn’t order. Be careful here. Food was decent but def wouldn’t go again.

Tiny place with a menu with the perfect measure. The service couldn’t be more polite and friendly. Everything was delicious, even the simplest dishes in the menu. I will recommend it for sure!

Went for seafood with a view, left with scombroid poisoning. I ate the Tuna Tartar (the culprit), while my wife had the Calimari, and we shared the Spaghetti Vongole. Before paying the bill I began to feel dizzy, but I assumed it was due to the combined effects of recently swimming in the ocean, the wine and the heat. In the car I started itching and breaking out in hives with mild heart and chest pains. At home my symptoms worsened, turning my face and body red. I do not have any fish allergies and eat raw seafood regularly, and my wife was fine, so we knew the Tuna was to blame. 2 benadryl and 6 hours later I have finally started to feel normal. Save your Euro, your time, and your health. Go elsewhere.

Pizza restaurant
U Palangaru is an exceptional seafood eatery, boasting an assortment of dough options that are rarely encountered elsewhere. The quality of their oceanic offerings is impressive, and the affordability of their menu is highly commendable. This establishment comes highly recommended for those seeking a delightful culinary experience.
This restaurant has a magical atmosphere created by a cute wall made of crates. They specialize in seafood pasta and pizza. You MUST order anything with 🍅 when you are in the Pachino region. You haven't ever tasted tomatoes like these. We have no pictures because we ate it so fast. Tonight we had the homemade ravioli stuffed with fresh ricotta with Norma sauce......customade by me not on the menu. The decor is beautiful. The town buzzes with a beautiful energy and live music. This was an unexpected delight after leaving Noto.

Very good pizza with a choice of dough that you rarely see. Seafood is also good and the prices are very reasonable. I really recommend.

We reserved a table and dined here on a Saturday night. The food was fine. The reason for awarding this restaurant only one star is because it blaintly puts profit ahead of its customers health. When we arrived we told the waiter we had earlier made a reservation. He pointed us to our outside table that had been squeezed in by the entrance where everybody walked by as they entered and left the outside dining area. There was no hand gel in this area for customers to use. As for social distancing, it couldn’t have been in a worse place. Shortly after placing our order a group of dinners arrived not wearing masks and brushed past me to get to their table. So much for social distancing and having to wear masks in public places. Here it was none existent! When a similar thing happened again I called the waiter over, expressed my concern and asked for us to be seated elsewhere as I could see other empty tables away from the entrance. The response was that they were reserved. They remained empty whilst we quickly ate. Just as we were about to leave, one of the empty tables got occupied as a couple arrived. Other tables away from the busy entrance remained free. In hindsight we really should have left immediately we were shown to our table. In truth there should not have been a table placed there as there was no way social distancing and customer safety could be achieved. Sadly covid-19 cases are currently on a sharp increase. Is there little wonder!

If you want to wait two hours before STILL not getting your pizza then this is your place, also tried to charge us for bread which we never received so we had to leave without any food. Plenty of other good restaurants in the main Street to check out so stay away from this one.
Oscar Waters — Google review
Went there 19.30 for dinner but a funny waiter said fully booked since we did not phone. Eaten at another place with no problem on our way back the restaurant was still with some empty tables. Their loss
