'Rocca di Garda' is undoubtedly one of the best (if not the best) places to visit on Lake Garda. Very often not even mentioned by the tourist itineraries, I discovered it almost by chance during my search of hidden beauties of Verona. You can park your vehicle at the car park near the entrance to the woods and begin your excursion to the 'Rocca di Garda'. There are signages with the direction to the Rock. After a few steps, turn left and go up the rocky road and take the staircase that, entering the woods. Then it starts to gain altitude and gives you the first views of the village and lake. The path continues through the woods until it reaches an asphalted road. Always uphill you arrive at the 'Sella della Rocca' where several paths cross. On the left, the path leads, in about 15 minutes, to the 'Eremo dei Camaldolesi', while, on the right, you go up towards the top of the Rock. The path now consists of stone steps and runs alongside the rocky side of the promontory until it reaches the top with the panoramic point. From here opens a splendid breathtaking view of the town of 'Garda' and 'Punta San Vigilio' with its characteristic gulf, from an altitude of about 300 meters. If you wish, you can continue a little further along the path and reach another panoramic point overlooking 'Bardolino' with an incredible view of the lower 'Lake Garda' towards 'Sirmione'.

(Translated by Google) Walk from Garda or Bardolino or Albarè di Costermano. Trekking shoe with rough sole required. Unfortunately, even today I see people going up in flip flops. The mountain rescue continues to receive reports of emergencies in the area frequently due to an underestimation of the danger of the excursion. This is recommended with the clothing and attention reserved for trekking. This is out of respect for those who, bringing help, risk their lives in emergencies. I invite you to climb with suitable shoes, paying attention to stay at least one meter away from the sheer edge at the many exposed panoramic points. There are rough spots and blind paths that end with a notable overhang. At the top and also during the climb, at least the one from Garda, I recommend keeping children close - and dogs on a leash - for their protection and safety. It is an excellent opportunity to teach children to move with caution, to walk in pseudo-mountainous environments, to pay attention to the environment and those around us. There are exposed points, steps, rocky points that are potentially slippery after rain. Take your waste home, as always. Bring water as there are no fountains. For the rest it is a panoramic place, well described by the other reviews, you can enjoy a splendid view of the lake. From there, less than ten minutes on foot, you can visit the hermitage of San Giorgio, a Camaldolese hermitage. Portare i propri rifiuti a casa, come sempre.

Warm quarters, some with lake views, in a polished waterfront hotel offering a restaurant & a pool.
This small peninsula on lake Garda is a wonderful spot to relax, albeit rather expensive. There is paid parking off the main road, then a short walk to the actual side steer leading you to the water. At the peninsula are a couple of luxury beaches (renting sunshade is 40 eur), a hotel and a villa (closed to public) and a restaurant with relatively high prices. However, you can sit and have a drink overlooking the water and not break the bank. It's worth going for the atmosphere.

Heike Kusserow — Google review
Punta San Vigilio is an enchanting paradisiac peninsula property of the aristocratic family of the Counts “Guarienti di Brenzone” located in the east coast of Lake Garda, ~50 min by car from Verona, 5 min from the lake resort village of “Garda”, and it is widely regarded as one of the most romantic spots across Europe. Its fame has grown thanks to it being an elegant/picturesque retreat cove that has long inspired artists, philosophers, writers and politicians such as Napoleon, Tsar Alexander II, Winston Churchill, Prince Charles, King Juan Carlos of Bourbon, Lawrence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, who slept on its shores at the XVI century “Locanda San Vigilio”, a luxurious hotel facing the idyllic bay. The walk towards the bay is epic: along a cypress lane down a cobblestone path through crenellated medieval gates, lit by the light of old lanterns you reach a patio where past a threshold you flow into the pier. Here you can nowadays have a meal and drink under the restaurant pergola. The road towards Punta San Vigilio is as well breathtaking: Bordered one side by majestic vertical cliffs and on the other by the limpid, luxuriant green waters of the lake. The nearby “Parco Baia delle Sirene” (= Sirens’ bay park) is the most famous beachside area close to Punta San Vigilio. There, (Open Jun-Aug; 9:30-19:00; tickets: 10-13€ Adults; 6-3€ kids 3-12 yo; Prices variable depending on the entrance time: <14:30, <16:30, >16:30) via a path under the shade of olive trees, visitors can reach a spotless beachside with two dining spots, a small ice cream parlour and wooden picnic tables available. Enjoy the magic of this place with respect for its history and make sure to preserve it for future generations.

Parco Baia delle Sirene is a lakefront park that is situated in a serene forest setting. The park boasts of numerous amenities such as a private beach, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Visitors to the park can choose between relaxing by the pool or enjoying the beautiful lake view. Despite being more expensive than other parks in Garda, Parco Baia delle Sirene provides comfortable sunbeds and excellent food and beverage options.
If you want to enjoy a bit of luxury:) We paid 18€/person = afternoon admission, lounger and towel included. Two bistros for drinks and snacks, clean toilets, service and private beach. Crystal clear water. Worth the money😉 Amazing sunset as the bonus🌅

We come to Garda since 15 years. We went in the past to Bahia Delle Sirene ( on the opposite side of the Land tongue). This year we went for the first time here. What a difference. First of all it is more expensive, but the sunbeds are larger and much more comfortable. The major difference are the sanitary facilities. I will not return to Bahia Della Sirene unless they renew them. I liked the infinity pool and the option to choose the pool or the lake. Food and beverages are also great and much better than in Bahia Delle Sirene. I can definitely recommend this place.

I didn't really understand the rules as we had our own towels and umbrella but they said we couldn't use them and had to pay. You don't really expect to have to pay when there are signs saying "Free Entry". It's like bringing food to the cinema, I don't think they are allowed to charge you but all the staff are told you have to pay and get really pushy if you stand your ground.
dijon dajee — Google review
Beautiful setting and beach, everything well maintained. There is a separate beach section for dogs. Plenty of shade. 30€ per person/ sunbed. Hence 60€ for two persons with sunbeds and an umbrella. The bar has food and drinks at reasonable price. Since the beach is rocky, bring your swim shoes. Parking is free
Martin Metz — Google review
Beautiful spot I used to visit for years BUT the new owners seem to have lost any customer orientation. They advertise free entry, but dont let you swim unless you buy the obligatory overpriced sunbeds for 18 (after 2pm) / 25€ full day. Even at 7pm (1 hour before closure) they asked for the full entry price and had no other - more reasonable - ticket option available. Although we wanted to buy drinks and snacks there. Sad to see this „development“ 🙁
Ralf Tischler — Google review
This place advertises “free entry” , which is not the case. Once you park your car and arrive at the entrance, a ticket office kind of establishment welcomes you. Staff explains the meaning of free entry as “you can go in, have a look, walk, see but if you’d like to swim, you have to pay EUR 30 per person for a sun-bed and umbrella”. I believe they are obliged to give you free passage to the beach hence the fuss of “free entry” everywhere. For us, with 2 kids (below 12 is free of charge btw) and just for a 30min plunge, it sounded a bit too overpriced but we wanted to have a look after a 1hr drive. There begins the interesting part. We went in, just walked to the right following the path on the beach and tadaaa! There is a public beach under the trees where you can simply lay your towel and swim free of charge. Just take your food&drinks as you might want to stay here all day. Crystal clear water…
Kursad Terzi — Google review
The place is okay but overpriced and the staff is unfriendly. There are many beaches around the Garda lake that are as good and free of charge. The beach has guards who tell you where you can take a sun bed, or more, where you can’t take a sun bed. There is a lot of available sun beds at the front of the beach but the unpleasant guards insists they are reserved. Even though there is only two of 45 beds taken there. 30 Euros per adult admission fee. Kids under 12 free of charge.
Åsmund Hanevik — Google review
Very well preserved place and fair cost to enter the park. You can enjoy a clean, organized, crystal-clear-water park with tennis table court, beach chairs, table for snacks among the trees. A perfect place to the family with no disturbance. The parking lot is for free. Tip: Arrive at the opening time at 09:30 and then you will easily find a place to park, small lines and lots of place to choose where to stay by the lake and your fun time is guaranteed!
Nadia Cecchinel — Google review
Nice beach, quite crowded in August. Around 12€ entrance fee, 2 coffee bars where you can have snacks or a menu. Toilettes. And gelattos! Some curious swans around too.

Overall a beautiful and relaxing place, €25 per person (same price children/adults). There's a relatively long walk down and up on a gravel road. In a hot day with kids it's not easy. Pool is nice and very clean, but overall there wasn't a great "attitude" for kids. Did not eat or drink in the restaurant.

Unfortunately it is always closed and even the protected oasis that should be opposite is in poor condition and is off limits to the public. Yet the church represents a very ancient and important historical memory for the area. Documents attest to it from 1084 and its position was in relation to a castle built in a terraced agricultural area at the foot of the Rocca di Garda. It underwent various changes of ownership and retains little of its Romanesque forms, because it was completely rebuilt in the 13th century. You can park in the small space outside the gate, just long enough to read its history. It is part of the historical-archaeological route of Garda and Bardolino. The outside area is scruffy. Broken tiles dead bird outside main entrance. Gives an awful impression of cleanliness. It’s expected that a visit to a pool is clean and sanitised. The pricing structure for the pool is unnecessarily complicated. Is this a deliberate attempt to confuse or alienate customers with Weekday and weekend pricing? Expect to pay circa €10 each to use the pools for half the day, but only at prescribed times. I cannot therefore recommend.

Entry is reasonably priced, me and my little one love the bubbles in both the outside pool and the small round spa upstairs, especially cause they are both heated! It's a lovely place to relax and have fun, they also have a heated pool baby zone with inflatables. Unfortunately it's real cold when out of the pool...changing rooms could get an upgrade too, showers...only 2 are working properly...that's a minus. And hairdryers are not really, well, drying much. There are no power sockets so can't bring your own. I loved the little bar, Alice was superkind and her snacks are delicious! Overall we had a great experience so we will go back for sure!

The pools were okay, nothing special and could be warmer. The saunas are probably the best part of the establishment. Lots of different saunas to choose from and complimentary beauty treatments. Definitely recommended for a Spa day.

Very nice group of pools, newly renovated in Summer 2018. Great in Summer, with a beautiful pool outside dedicated to the small kids, one with warm salty water and jacuzzi massage, and a big one for swimming and sliding. Wonderful indoor pool, which I could test since it was not open yet. Nice park. Only problem, you cannot take in food from outside and the bar has a very limited choice of dishes (only a few sandwiches and salad) and quite high prices.
Davide Valentini — Google review
Staff was friendly. Overall the visit was average. There is one 25mt pool, jacuzzi, and one heated outdoor pool along with an indoor and outdoor children pool. Cost to enter is cheap compared to other locations but you get what you pay for. I didn’t use the SPA area so not sure what the service is like.

Lots of cons ! Bad food, the vending machine in the complex will crush you. It's like a maze inside - 15 minutes everyone was wandering where the entrance and exit is. There are no signs. And to finish, the place marked as a parking lot, all the cars got fines.

Our apartment host recommended this place! We would not have chosen it because it's not at the lake, but it has a beautiful private garden in the back, which creates a quaint atmosphere. They were so friendly, especially to our child. Italians, in general, seem very kid friendly. You receive an aperitif and pizza bread on the house as well as a small ice cream in the end. We had the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Truffle Tortellini - both were absolutely delicious. This place needs to be on your list while visiting Garda!

Food wise it wasn't the best experience of Italian cuisine. Yes, you get limoncelo and bit of ice cream gratis when leaving. Food looks good but flavours are not there. I m surprised about people who gave 5 stars. All food was made without passion or love, tuna was prepared without spices, just two different vegetables also without taste, the rest you can see at the picture. It was the worst food during our stay in Garda. 3.75 overall (it is not bad, especially in the context of lake Garda being overcrowded with horrendous tourist traps, but it's not great either) 💶 Price/Value: good price for value considering the competition in this area. 🕯️Ambience/Athmosphare: little patio, with some separators in the backyard. Usually quite crowded. 🍕 Food: offer typical Italian dishes. More seafood oriented than the average Osteria. Had a Fritto Mista plate, which was not bad but quite ordinary, Tagliatelle Vongole had been quite good, just as the Bigoli with mixed seafood. BUT the Tiramisu was among the worst I had in my entire life. While I would consider Tiramisu to not be the easiest dish, this abomination just had it all: crumbly, wet, sour and dusty at the same time. Incredible. The waiters apologised and we got quite a good Limoncello as an apology. Free pizza bread was nice, a little dry though. And I would have preferred something more refreshing like fresh olives. 🍷Drinks: free aperitivi in the beginning were okay, common selection of wine. 🗣️ Staff: quite friendly and trying to accommodate you as good as possible. [Card payment possible]

Great pick among local restaurants! You are welcome with an aperitif and the meal is served pretty fast. The quality is great and I really enjoyed pasta with Genovese. Great experience. Friendly staff and great service. A few freebie extras throughout the course of the meal such as an apero drink upon arrival and a baked pizza bread for the table. We went with the tuna tartare, a pasta dish with shrimp and truffles, a pasta dish with pesto, and the steak with Parmesan. Everything was delicious but as the other reviews said, it’s a lot of food! Reasonable prices. Nice outdoor seating space in the garden area behind the restaurant (off the main alleyway). Highly recommend.

So the food was good, I mean totally good sea food. There are few things you need to know though: It’s not a restaurant how you normally mean this word. You come, chose fish or meat and they bring you different dishes with fish or meat, bottle of vine, water and coffees to close the dinners I think it’s a great option to try, though for me it was really really a lot :) If you are hungry or with the company of friends - really great 👍
Julia Kiwa — Google review
Crazy place. There is no menu, so you choose fish or meat or vegitarian. After this the madness starts. We got dish after dish and it seemed like it never stopped, we got eleven plates in total with all different seafood. Some good and others average. It was a fun experience, but not as fancy that I hoped for.
Johan Linse — Google review
We have been there with friends and we were looking forward to the 10 plates menu. It was very full. All portions were too small to divide / 4 but we thought there will be 10 plates so we were fine with this idea. At the end we paid 40 euros for 6 plates - and we felt like tourists in a nerved environment. Perhaps it is better to go there when it is emptier - no recommendation from us.

Way overrated and overpriced. Fixed menus More of a fast food/buffet restaurant. But it's priced too high. Non-existent service beyond bringing in the food and removing plates. The neighbour table was asked to reuse plates for their next dish I ordered the meat option and received a few cold slices of ham. The grilled meat never arrived. We paid and left early. Avoid this place.

If you could visit only one restaurant while you’re in Garda, choose this one. Make sure to have a reservation or come early when visiting in summer. There is no menu. You can choose between meat, seafood and vegetarian. You should choose the seafood option. The courses keep coming and coming and you’ll get what the chef has prepared. Also there is the typical Italian vibe and atmosphere that everyone loves. We have found this gem a couple of years ago and we are visiting every year!

I'm looking forward to coming back here! it's been a year since my last visit.....and I'm still thinking about how well I ate at your place! Congratulations, I'm impressed!

Great dining experience, no set menu you just specify fish meat or vegetarian and receive numerous courses (I lost count after 10) and bottles of either red or white wine. The food is dependent on what's available at the market that day and was really fresh. We sat outside in the little garden and it was very atmospheric. Really good value and a unique and unusual experience.

I had the most delicious pasta in my WHOLE life here! Tagliatelle pasta with truffle and zucchine. The service was good as well.

Excellent and fresh seafood, set meat or fish menu, great value, great service

Fun place. They serve you in courses. Mainly smaller sharable plates of meats, seafood and pasta. Very unusual food choices so be ready for some new things.

Restaurant
Il Giardino delle Rane is a charming lakeside trattoria located in Garda. The restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its wood-fired pizza and delectable spaghetti with clams. The garden is adorned with whimsical frog sculptures, adding to the enchanting ambiance. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the lake while savoring their meals.
We love this restaurant! We travel often to Garda and can recommend this restaurant directly at the lake with beautiful view to the lake! Fair prices, also menus for kids (e.g. Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes Frites for 6€) or a specially grilled(!) skewer with king prawns and octopus (see attached picture), both for the taste but also for the eyes ;) Clear recommendation!

Nice place in a nice setting in Garda. Restaurant and garden are filled with frog statues. The kids love it! Food is very good. Try the pasta and Fish!

Nice garden, good location. Average food, pizza ok but pasta was dry and small portion...Good red wine. Service ok. Overprised.

Very delicious "spaghetti alle vongole", good priced and nice setting. Spotted quite a lot of Italian people (and not only tourists), which seems a good sign to me. Children will love the frogs :)

This place worships 🐸 frogs and is a great old place both to stay at and to just 👂 eat. I would highly recommend both the food and the staff 😃 who deliver same with a cheery crack and genuine smiles.

This place is wonderful, if you want a outside table come in advance, a lot of options, for sure you will find what you like Vegetarian options are available Very affordable

I love the place! Staff is friendly. Rooms are small but very clean (cleanliness being my top criteria). The location is tip top: surrounded by shops and restaurants. Both are opened till very late (maybe 23h or more. That could be a down side for the light sleepers because it can get noisy up until everything closes). The terrace of the hotel has view on the lake. The only downside is there is no parking.

We only drank coffee here which was okay, so we can’t really speak for the food. When we wanted to pay the waiter gave us a higher price than what we should actually pay and when we asked for the bill he said he was mistaken and told us the correct price. We don’t know if it was really a mistake or not but it was a bit uncomfortable for us.

Great location, have vegan and gluten free options. Staff lovely. We do end here 3 times during our stay in Garda. Possibly the only restaurant with decent gluten free options.

we were in the month of august! greeted by an aggressive and disrespectful blonde, we sat down and she yelled at a girl to get bread, she yelled a lot at everyone and ran like crazy. As soon as I finished eating, he took my plate away without even asking if it was over, my wife wasn't finished and she took the plate, I learned that she needed the table for other people. I went to the bathroom and asked the other workers at the place who she was and to my surprise it was the director Dani, I asked if it was always like this and they said laughing that she was calm that day! tip to the owner, replace urgently because you have a fantastic place and the food is perfect!

Visited the restaurant and had a meal with family. We were. Party of 10 and they accommodated us without a reservation within an hour. They had options for vegan and vegetarian family members. The service was excellent but the food was standard. Be warned, there is one toilet and it doesn’t have a seat.

For a real italian food? HELL NO! If you want pizza for tourists then come here. Ours was super dry and bad. We were very disappointed, this is giving a bad name to italian food. When we asked the waiter what is going on, and talked a bit about the food and tradition(which anyone can learn from Italia Squisita, Eva from Pasta Grammar, Vincenzos plate or Luciano Monosilio) the waiter told us that the chef isnt even Italian and that he doesnt know the tradition. Go to LA LANTERNA instead for the real Italian food.

Delicious Gluten free Pizzas! Really tasty An extensive Menu clearly stating what could be Gluten free or vegan. A very friendly host, great location on the waterfront and a pleasant atmosphere. We would strongly recommend it for those with gluten allergies and look forward to eating there again soon.

Could of sat outside of here the whole holiday long. The food was beautiful and all the staff were really friendly. My partner and myself are vegan and they were more than happy to accommodate us. We went twice on our holiday and the second time we watched the sunset. It was absolutely stunning. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly be back on our next visit to Garda!

Made a reservation for dinner here. I was very excited to eat Horse and donkey - they both were soo so delicious! I also enjoyed my salad and tagliatelle bolognese. The service here was excellent. The atmosphere was nice. Overall, I would highly recommend it!

Great food and amazing service. The restaurant was able to move our reservation last minute from 9pm to 8:30, booked a taxi for our return to Verona, and brought my credit card (which I had forgotten on the table) in the taxi right before I was leaving the restaurant to return to Verona. Pasta and wine were delicious, and dishes looked like those of a gourmet restaurant while affordable. Decor was beautiful and typical. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. Thank you again to the team!

Staff really friendly which created a relaxing atmosphere. The melanzane parmigiana was wonderfully homecooked. A real highlight was the cheese board which the owner talks you through with a sense of pride. You will not be disappointed.

Had a pleasant meal here dining solo. Starter with the bigoli with lake sardines. Next had the Tatar with Garronese Veneta Beef. Wish I wasn’t too full to try more. Hopefully will be back. Also loved that they had the 1/4 l of wine. Good location with a nice outdoor seating. It doesn’t compare to the lake, but you will not get food like this in the lakeside restaurants.

Outstanding, delicious! The only real authentic Italian food in Garda. Everything is fresh out of a kitchen upstairs. Staff is wonderful. Must book a reservation in advance.

My friends and I galloped over for a quick bite at the last minute. We had to jockey for position in order to get a table but the staff was quick to accommodate our group of stallions. A trough of water was brought out immediately as it was very hot outside. Dishes may not be for everyone but definitely a triple crown experience.
