Espinho is a city and a municipality located in the Aveiro District, Portugal. It is located in both the Greater Porto and the Metropolitan Area of Porto, 16 km from its city centre. This beach is not bad for being the north of Portugal. For me it is just so massive. When I visited it was very windy. Also, water is very cold.
Beautiful beach! Amazing surf and good quality sand. Bars along the front all good. Public toilets (paid 50c) and free showers.
wide sandy beach full if surfers. you can get lessons right there. also watching surfing schools is very interesting. ocean is cold but few rocky lakes are okay to swim up to knees also for kids. a lot of peole playing beach games. you can get to this place from porto old town with train - urban line from camphana or sao bento station to espinho direction. the train stops right on the beach. the andante card is valid also for this lines. the train cca every 30 min.
Not a great experience.. the wind is blowing you out, huge waves which not allowing you to swim, it gets extremely crowded plus the sport games everywhere over your heads. You cannot even close your eyes as gonna be hit by a teenagers ball...
Wonderful place and I love to see the waves shocking against the rocks.

Had a lovely session in the planetarium about the planets! The host was very knowledgeable and explained what he was showing well and in an entertaining way for both adults and children in the room :) Will definitely come back for other sessions.
The cinema is well equipped too and usually plays 1-2 recent movies.

If you're tired of removing sand from your skin after swimming but still want to enjoy the water, consider visiting Piscina Solário Atlântico's swimming pools. They offer both indoor and outdoor options, with the water sourced directly from the sea. For a nominal fee, you can also access additional amenities such as a sauna and various services.
The pool is treated salted water from the sea. The pool itself is massive and there’s a deep end, shallow end and a separate pool for babies/children. The lifeguards are also friendly and you’re allowed to jump in to the pool. You need to pay extra to have sun loungers or a table with chairs but there’s benches placed around one side of the pool that are completely free.
There’s a cafe inside with a great variety of food and drink. Staff are friendly. It’s also great that this place allows you in with your own food and drink.
We visited this place about 4 times within a month, I honestly recommend it to anyone who prefers pool over the beach.
The only downfall about this place is the toilets. They’re completely broken, run-down and there is never any toilet roll. They’re so disgusting.
Recommendations:
- Toilets need a massive upgrade and/or to be well maintained and cleaned.
- Unused/empty area at the top could use with some benches/chairs/sun-loungers.

the sea has all the facilities you need for a relaxed afternoon (Bar with the basics snacks/drinks) chairs to rent with umbrella, showers. For the sportive ones, you can swim your lengths in the Olympic pool filled with saltwater
Good pool, but iconic diving board closed and no balls allowed and no inflatables. Seating costs extra. Half day price available after 1400/1430.

This delightful guest house offers a prime location and accommodating staff, ensuring a pleasant stay for visitors.
I had the pleasure to stay 2 nights in this beautiful Guest House.
The bed was very comfortable and the area very quiet! I recommend! 😊

2,5 stars. This establishment has great bones to be a fabulous place but it falls short on all fronts. The rooms in the basement are damp, beds and towels constantly wet, maybe some air-con might help make the rooms drier. The place does not offer breakfast on the weekends. It is a shame, I would not stay here again.

At this point in our trip we have stayed at 7 locations. This was by far the most comfortable bed, pillow and bedding. Loved it. Slept well. So quiet at night as well.

Great course. Lack of buggies and the restaurant was closed so that was frustrating. The staff was really nice and helpful.
Can't believe I never left a review.. played this course twice while staying in Espinho maybe 8-10 years ago.. my man Paulo Duarte got me in there. Awesome track. Wish I spoke Portuguese better back then because the older guys I played with didn't speak much English. One of these days I'll make it back to the great city of Espinho and Oporto Golf Club.. and have a Super Bock with my man Paulo. FC Porto>Sporting🤣
Tee time reserved for 9:00 arrived at 8:30; nobody around at 9:05 and only members teeing off. Caddie Master very unfriendly did not make any effort to help. No organization at all so ended up playing in Miramar 40 min latter. Definitely a club for members only so don't lose your time.
I rang to book for 3 people and ask to rent golf clubs
Very nice people on the phone they told my the price was 50£ for game and 30£ for the rental each and I have to pay the clubs in cash and the rest in card so we took enough cash and is everything was ok
Then when we go there was a extra 35 £ for a trolley and we have to pay cash
When we complain that it was a outrage amount of money for a trolley and with didn’t had a lot cash on us we offer to pay with credit card and they refused
So we had to use all our cash to pay for the trolleys and the staff where very rude and arrogant
Please be careful when booked
I have used other clubs in Portugal and everything was nice this one are rude arrogant and they stitch you up

Great seafood, warm, friendly service, family-run place. Most of the crowd is local. Had the mixed seafood plate (1/2 serving - more than enough for 1 person). Just wonderful!
And they are vegetarian friendly! They made a very thoughtful salad plate, with good sources of veggie protein.
For a first dinner in Espinho, this will be hard to beat!
Great food and service, the room is a bit small and the light a bit harsh. There is a tv constantly on, which degrades the experience a bit.
The portions are big, but a bit expensive compared to other restaurants, still it is worth it.
This was a delicious meal, very colorful and very flavorful, it was called the shrimp rice and I highly recommend it. The staff were exceptionally nice and the food was served quickly. All in all it was a five out of five experience. This place is definitely worth a visit.
The best dining experience you can find in Espinho. We had the fish stew and it was simply the best. The appetisers of olives, bread, pate and fish cutlets were also amazing. The owner gave us free liquor at the end. Excellent service and a very homely environment.

Aquário Marisqueira is a highly recommended restaurant in Portugal that offers an exceptional dining experience with excellent service. The seafood dishes are of the highest quality, with fresh fish that melts in your mouth and has a soft texture like a cloud. The portions are generous, making it suitable for sharing between two people, and the wine selection is amazing. The attentive and kind waitstaff add to the overall positive dining experience.

Worst fries in all of Espinho so far, really soggy. Portions quite small for the price. Food is nothing special, nothing you would go back for. Apart from that, the waiters are really unfriendly and sometimes very odd, you don't feel comfortable during your stay.
Fantastic Fish Restaurant right on the Atlantic. If you love fresh fish and want to eat it while looking out to the ocean then there is no better place to enjoy the fish the wine and the view. I had the monk fish and rice which was full of flavour and light.

Great seafood on the beach. Top level service. We had the biggest tiger shrimp I've ever seen. As big as Maine lobster. We also had pasta class and shrimp and the pasta was tasted homemade. We will be back soon.

One of the best dinner and service in my life. Fresh fish melted in my mouth, was soft like a cloud, big portion for 2 persons, amazing wine. Waiter was very attentive to us and very kind. For those seeking affordable meals without compromising on taste, Restaurante Baliza is a highly recommended choice. This restaurant, formerly a guest house, offers delicious traditional Portuguese cuisine. The staff at Restaurante Baliza are exceptional - despite their limited knowledge of the Portuguese language, they make every guest feel incredibly welcome. The Prato de Tapas is particularly outstanding; it is packed with incredible flavors and comes in generous portions.
This is a great local place to eat, full of local people. Service was good and the guys and girls there really look after you. We had beer and a full meal for 2 for only €25, beautifully cooked fresh local produce and nice port. A good local business I will use time and again.

Fantastic staff - despite of our almost non existent knowledge of Portuguese language, we felt very much welcomed by the staff. Prato de Tapas was amazing, full of flavour and a good sized portion, mixed grilled meat for two was great - we had few questions about it, which were answered every time with a lot of patience, which we were very grateful for. Overall, we had an amazing experience with a fantastic food, a great house wine and haven't been treated that well in a restaurant for a long time. Thank you /muito obrigada

If you are looking for very good meat at a reasonable price - this is your place! Super friendly staff and simply great food. In case you don’t plan to meet anybody next day - go for the garlic steak- just great! Not to forget - even the simple mixed salad with good olive oil and the house wine are more than okay…

I took vegetable soup (1,65€). It is really delicious!
Then we ordered an entrecôte for 2 (30€) as the main dish. It comes with french fries, souses and a salad. A giant portion, really.
A glass of red wine (2,50€) and a homemade lemonade.
The food is fantastic! The service is very nice. The waiter who recommended me to take the entrecôte came and asked if I am happy with the order.
