The fact my kid has eaten the entire portion of pasta, linguini, says it all! The food was delicious, and the owner and staff, I guess family or close friends , were more than great. Also, the location and opening hour's, makes it perfect for a late lunch.

If you are looking for a typical Italian restaurant serving fresh food and a wide variety of meals and nice wines, you should pass there. The waitress will guide yiu through the menu card and give you some tips. I enjoyed it very much.

Fantastic food, kind and pleasant service, good prices. My family ate here two nights in a row while staying in the area. Our favorite restaurant.

Hier een avondje gegeten door de recensies. Moesten even goed kijken omdat de naam wat vervaagd is. Leuk tentje. Goed eten personeel inderdaad jong maar erg behulpzaam. Echter wat mij betreft niet de lekkerste van Vinci en viel ons op dat 't glas wijn minder gevuld was dan de locals om ons heen. (Translated by Google) Had dinner here one evening based on the reviews. Had to take a closer look because the name is a bit faded. Nice tent. Good food staff young indeed but very helpful. However, in my opinion not the tastiest of Vinci and we noticed that the glass of wine was less full than the locals around us.

Like your nonna’s food! Shout out to the tiramisu which was one of the best I had! Prices are reasonnable too. Also, we asked the waiters if they could call us a taxi to go back to our agritourismo (1,5km from the restaurant), since it was dark outside and there was no sidewalk. The owner kindly offered us to bring us back, and, in the end, Simone, a waiter, brought us back home safely! Grazie mille again!

What an awesome old town! If you're in Vinci it worth stopping by the museum and climbing to the top of the bell tower. The view was breath taking!
Mark Price — Google review
Interesting museum with drawings of Leonardo brought to life. It was empty on the day despite being Sunday and it had a great panoramic view of the town in one of the buildings (the view's last entry is 30 mins before closing so be aware!). Beware that you cannot touch anything in the museum which is a shame. It would be so much not interesting and educational if that would be possible. They argue that the models are art in themselves but they could have got simpler versions for exploration. Videos do not always explain enough and there is a lot of text everywhere. The museum is definitely not for children, they would be bored.
Monika Solak — Google review
A nice detour from the crowds of Florence, and experience the Tuscan countryside enroute. The museum is very small, spread out over several locations, so plan to walk between buildings in the village. Exhibits are limited, with a few small, replica models on display. Some descriptions are in Italian only, so it's recommended to download the museum App.
N Peter — Google review
Very interesting, full of DeVinci's inventions, there aren't many English explanations but the fair price, amazing view (especially from the top of the second building) and beautiful replicas and models more than made up for it. Vinci (the area) itself is also stunning, more than anything I'd recommend taking a detour through the area as the views are breathtaking.

Its a good museum. This one is aimed more at adults, if you have young children then I recommend checking out the interactive leonardo experience in Florence.

This is located in Vinci the place of this birth. Lots of well built models of his works with good written descriptions and some video and audio explanation. Was expecting a little more interactive as was given in the description. Your only need about an hour. The house has a great video but otherwise not worth your time.
Bret Zacher — Google review
Vinci hosts this distributed museum around 4 buildings: castle, palace, original home and another small painting exhibition. The core are two nice building with models of Italy creations, aided by a mobile pdf guide for foreigner and a support of virtual reality for few models. Very nice, in a small town. Worth going there to see all four together. In the castle there is also a nice panoramical tower overlooking the valley and a couple of multimedia rooms telling the story of the genius, both in Italian and English alternated. We Orth it !

Very pretty village, a real find. Well worth the drive through exquisite countryside. Museum is small but informative. People are friendly, small restaurant attached to the museum is wonderful, inexpensive food.
Gary Kinsley — Google review
This museum is in two adjacent locations, on two floors in the main part and in the Castle next door, don't forget to visit the Castle as that's where the flying machine models are. There's are lots of models of the mechanisms and machines that Da Vinci postulated and (maybe) even constructed. None of the beautiful models on display (modern historic artefacts in their own right) can actually be seen working although they obviously are constructed to function as intended by Da Vinci. This is a bit disappointing and actually quite frustrating but understandable as the models are almost too valuable to become damaged or worn out, it's very tempting to turn a handle but not allowed! To compensate there are a number of GGI animated models on nearby screens which do show the workings very well. There is also a large informative caption dedicated to the model makers and talented technicians who produced the models from the original drawings which was good to see. In the castle there's a room which shows how the drawings, from which we know so much about his work, were made with details of ink, paper and pen methods. There are also sections on Da Vinci's contributions to the study of anatomy, physiology and medicine. Descriptive captions are numerous and informative in Italian and mostly translated to English with a few exceptions. It's not a huge museum but exhibits are well presented with enough information and explanations. The same ticket for 9 euro also gains access to the church on the same site where you can see the font that (most probably) was used in Da Vinci's christening. You can also go up to the top of the castle tower which has fantastic views of the town and the surrounding countryside. I visited in late July 2023 in the heatwave and there was a short queue for tickets and no queue to get in. Parking outside was full up so I parked just up the road on the way out of the town, 5 minutes walk.

Very nice museum and very nice view from the Tower! Liked this museum more than the interactive museum in Florence as it is larger and gives more in depth info on Leonardo's live and work.

Great! Not to miss if in the area. 3 buildings plus a short drive to his birthplace home. I only wish there was more hands-on machines to try. All the machines are tempting to touch but hands off. Learned a lot about Leonardo.
Byron Sheardown — Google review
If you love history and one of the most historic figures who lived, the Leonardo Di Vince museum is worth the visit. The cozy town of Leonardo's birthplace, Vince, is also worth the visit in itself. The museum features models of his inventions and many of the 7000 sketches of his interests, including anatomy, motion, flight, metallurgy, painting, and sculpture. Leonardo transformed the world. He is considered one of the great geniuses of humanity, and his museum outlines this genius. The fee for just the museums, (2), is $9 EU. For $ 12 you can visit both the museums and his home birthplace.
RH Erie — Google review
Although the museum has only a limited no of models of Leonardo’s engineering genius their display and description provides great insight to this most remarkable person of his time and times to come. Do not miss it on your journey.

Wow! I knew this man was brilliant but wow! The things he invented! Mind boggling. If you're into his inventions this definitely a must do. Tickets can be purchased upun entering the building. Put your climbing shoes on. There is an elevator inside and a free potty. I suggest you take advantage of it as there are no free potties. So keep those 1euro coins.

Il Ristoro del Museo is a charming, rustic eatery situated in the historical district near the Leonardo Museum in Palazzo Uzielli. It offers a delectable selection of homemade dishes, including beans with sage and pappardelle in hare sauce, as well as the renowned Fiorentina T-bone steak. The cuisine is both simple and traditional, showcasing classic Tuscan flavors.
Very tasty. We came back the day after for another dinner. Very simple and classic Toscanini dishes, but the food is so good. We highly recommend the sliced steak in oil and the Pasta Arrabiata, and for dessert- Panna Cotta! Amazing! The service was also Great!

A very nice little atmospheric restaurant ran by two older people. The women who runs all tables on her own clearly said that waiting times were high because many tables were filled. After around a 30 minute wait we got served. She was very polite and seemed very passionate in her work. The Bruschetta was good. The Pasta was good. The Fiorentina Beef was okay (quite a lot of fat on it). But overall had a very nice dinner in a cute restaurant for a very decent price. Would definitely recommend to visit this place. Do keep in mind that waiting times may be longer as she runs the whole place by herself.

Ristorante La Torretta is a fantastic, uncomplicated eatery located in a renowned Italian village, known as the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci. The restaurant offers authentic Tuscan cuisine, including delectable meats and delightful pizzas, as well as traditional Tuscan starters. The staff members are incredibly pleasant, courteous, and amiable; however, they do expect patrons to exhibit appropriate behavior. Prices are reasonable and fair considering the location.
Incredible steak. Generous portions. Best meal we had in a 2 week holiday in Italy. Some may call the waiter gruff, but we found him professional and somehow "of the area" if that makes sense! Highly recommended!

If you want an origin italian place, this is the spot to go. The food is extraclass good. Try the bistecca di manzo! But never mind the waiters. They only speak italian and they take their time until you get served.

We have been to a lot of different places, and this one was by far the worst (there were no other "bad" ones). Terrible service, mediocre food. You don't feel welcome here. The interieur is greasy and old, the kitchen looks dirty and the place lacks nearly everything that it would need to get people to come back again. So seriously: Don't go there. ANY other place will be better. Hopefully the place will change in the future, though.

La Burra di Vinci is a wonderful spot for an authentic Tuscan evening. The cuisine is exceptional, and the hosts are welcoming. While not low-cost, it provides good value for money. Although plastic chairs may seem out of place, they make perfect sense when sitting on the grass under a starry sky in nature. The menu doesn't offer a wide selection, but it covers a 5 km range, so don't expect extravagant options like Champagne or Coke.
Was simply amazing. Staff friendly. We were here on a quiet evening. Apart from us a bigger group and another couple were having dinner. A fixed menu of four courses. Mixed bruschetta to start with some Parma and melon. The second course was a Florentine crepette. Very tasty. The third course was the classic pasta with ragout. And after that although we were full there came a plate with meat. The food was plenty and rich in flavour. Accompanied by a fine wine and good company we couldn't ask for more.

Brilliant find while driving around Tuscany. Perfect weather which allowed to sit outside, we ordered some zizzole (a type of gnocchi) with porcini and some pici with ragù di cinta. Good location and good service. Quality is ok, portions rather small. High prices for what you get. The worst is that they charge for tap water (2.5 euros for 750ml) even in a day with 40C and even if you have two small kids. This is outrageous and a shame. Being an Italian myself I think we should change this mentality to try to make profit on everything

Restaurant
Ristorante Pizzeria Leonardo is a charming family-friendly restaurant in Vinci. Despite its unassuming appearance, the warm welcome and attentive service immediately set the stage for a delightful dining experience. The menu is available in English, and even furry friends are well taken care of with water and attention. While the rustic ambiance may initially give pause, the delicious food quickly dispels any doubts. The pizza boasts fresh, high-quality toppings despite a slightly crunchy crust.
My husband,.kids and I went there the day before yesterday with our dog,.sat outside and had an absolutely lovely experience! The family immediately prepared the table, brought the menu which were also understandable in English and gave as a very warm welcome. It was nice to have the feeling of having the restaurant all to yourself (in the beginning it was awkward) and have a nice romantic experience with the girls and our dog got some nice attention and water too! The food is delicious. We were in love with their antipasti! Yes the pasta is really good! I loved every minute there. I specially enjoyed the family and kids going on with their life as usual, talking and playing close to us. Lovely! My only negative point would be the €2 service fee. They could also invest a little bit more in their appearance and/or tables outside.
Miryam Jara — Google review
Looking for a restaurang in Vinci, found a place that did not look too appealing. Went inside anyway and found a table. Next to our table was an American middle aged couple that looked at my expression and whispered "try the pasta it is pretty good!" He was absolutely right! Never get deceived by the looks. Food was excellent and the service even better! Highly recommend it!
Kelly Song — Google review
The cheap, plastic tables they have outside are not fit for purpose - even cutting up your food makes everything shake and spill. Their anti-mosquito measures are inadequate - by the end of the meal, there were bugs on most of the plates and even floating in our drinks. We asked for medium steak but got very rare (about a millimetre of brown top and bottom, cold in the centre - maybe this is the case in all of Italy, I don't know). Worst of all, food was really bland.
David Power — Google review
When we sat down behind the table (and used the restroom) our expectations have been almost down to zero. We have surprised everything else then what we have entered (rustical old environment, slow, only italian speaking waiter)! However, when we got the ordered, we have been positively surprised. Really delicious! If they improve on the appearance and refurnish, they could go for highest grades! Pizza with too crunchy crust, toppings fresh and great quality. As a minus also a serving charge of 2,00€ per person, but this could be expected in Italy. Waiter should be faster and speaking english, but you can also expect to get this in Italy.
matija novak — Google review
We had tried to go to the restaurant that was directly above this pizzaria but it was booked solid so we went to the only other place, in town, that was open. It's really a cute place, run by a family who sits in the dinning room, playing games and enjoying their life. The food could be really good if you have no comparisons to other pizza in Italy but for me it's was somewhat mediocre. The portions were small and the prices were based on the value of the name that the restaurant represents and not the quality of food that they serve. It can be a nice stop on your way to greater things but it's not a destination point, for sure.
