This Restaurant is definitely a fine dining place. The moment you step in you are treated so nicely. Many small things added to your dining experience like a welcome Prosecco a little appetizer and a little sweet and of you dinner. The food was delicious I had a champagne risotto and a rack of lamb both were awesome. My server recommended a wine pairing for both dishes. I love both wine. Thanks for the excellent night.

Just finished the best meal ever during our time here in Montecatini Terme. The service was fantastic and very attentive. The food was amazing starting off with a complimentary shrimp starter. We had the seared scallops as an appetizer and had the steak Florentine which was more than 2lbs. I was a little worried as I saw in the menu that is was $70 eauros for 2 persons and I read someone’s review that said it was per person. Thank goodness it was for both my wife and I. Honestly I would have paid $70 each since it was so delicious. We topped the meal off with a recommendation of Tiramisu from our server who said it was her favourite and it didn’t disappoint at all. In fact all their desserts are made in house by their own chef. Did I mention the other complimentary things like a glass of Prosecco to start and some fantastic cookies and pralines at the end. If you’re ever in Montecatini you should definitely give this place a go. If I could give 10*’s I would 😀. Great price for everything you get.

Non-EU citizen beware: if you don't have a scannable green pass they won't let you in, despite clear instructions from the Italian government. My wife called to reserve a spot outside and upon arrival we were asked for the green pass. We showed our CDC vaccination cards and were told those are not valid. I pointed out that official info on the US embassy in Italy with reference to The Italian Ministry of Health's website state that CDC vaccination cards "white cards" are an equivalent to the Green pass. The host refused to listen and said he has clear instructions not to let anyone in without a scan. We asked to speak to the manager, because it's difficult to get a last minute reservation wherever and we have a hungry 2 year old baby on our hands! We were told to wait a few minutes as somebody would be right with us, but nobody was coming. Feeling that something is not right my wife called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, but was told that the manager is not on sight. The host was obviously lying and hoping that we would just leave (make the problem go away). We confronted him, to which he responded very rudely that they are calling someone. We got into a discussion and finally the "manager" (or maybe not?) came out. The lady said she can't let us in, because they are facing big fines for violation. At that point I had only a few questions left: why couldn't she just come out and talk to us like a normal person without the whole theater of hiding and escalating the situation? Why make us wait with a hungry baby for such a long time hoping we would just leave? Why don't restaurants in high tourist areas get informed about the laws? Is this how Michelin-recommended restaurants work?

Food was great. Everything went ordered was fantastic. Prawn tartar was the highlight for me. The owner (I presume) even brought out toys for my 15 month old when he started to be a little restless during our meal. Highly recommended.

I went in to a Michelin restaurant expecting really great food, but came away disappointed. We got complementary wine and soup to start of with. And let me say Italian wine can be fantastic but sadly the soup and bread left a lot to be desired. To the main course. Champagne Risotto with saffron and parmesan mousse. I thought it sounded amazing. But when I received the risotto the saffron only served as garnish and the parmesan mousse didn't add much to the flavour. And sadly the flavour of the Risotto left a taste of "risgrynsgröt" (as we call it in Finland) in my mouth. Cannot give them lower than 4 stars because the service was good, the complementary food was really nice, but the overall experience was lacking.

Great soups, seafood, sienna sausage filled ravioli, and the tagliata was wonderful. Most pleasant service and authentic cuisine. Not far from the historic centre of town which is definitely worth a visit too.

Stayed at the Grotta Giusti and was looking for a place to have dinner that features local fare. I was blown away by this Michelin rated gem in a quaint Italian villa. We tried the house special of the day - fried different cuts of pork - tasted like mom just cooked it! The Bistecca Florentina - charred outside, pink inside, tender and flavorful all over. 3 of us shared the 2kg steak. Dessert; tiramisu - always a pleaser and fig pie - sweet crunchy fig covered in crumbly crust is a surprise find. We took a cab as it was dark but we've read that we could have walked it. Made reservations in advance for 7 pm and we were the first ones there. It became busy past 8. Loved the warm and neighborly atmosphere and looked like everyone knew each other. The price value is reasonable. So glad we tried Il Mailettto, will definitely come back.

We have tried almost everything on the menu including the desserts. The 40 days aged stake was the best stake we ever had. The charcuterie board is the meal to start with for sure. Overall if you are in Tuscany, you must eat at this place.

Il Maialetto was overall pretty good! The chef was very nice. He brought out the full block of steak to show us the quality of the steak and let us choose how thick we wanted our steak. The ribeye steak was well salted and cooked to the requested temperature. We also ordered the pork with extra crispy skin and the tomato bread with prosciutto. The pork was very delicious, well seasoned and the crackling skin was amazing. The tomato bread was okay, the prosciutto was cut pretty thick and overwhelmed the tomato spread. My biggest "complaint" would be the fact that no English menu was available. We were able to figure it out with Google Translate, but it would have been nice for a restaurant on the Michelin recommended list to have an English menu available. If you're in town visiting or staying at the Grotto, I would highly recommend visiting Il Maialetto for a good dinner.
