Fantastic experience. It was a little crowded when I arrived at 5:30 pm, but by sunset, practically everyone had left. So we were able to relax and spend some quiet time with nature. The shower gels and conditioner were high-quality and smelled fantastic! The sauna is also highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful scenery and outstanding views over the bay. We visited the place during the week in the morning at 11am. We had no reservation/booking, the visit comes with a with a big price tag, but it is worth the spending. They will stop visitors without reservation to enter the GeoSea, as soon as the capacity has been reached (mostly afternoon & evening times). The changing rooms and shower are very clean and beautifully designed. You can have drinks in the pool and spend a great time there. A great place to be!

Amazing time! I honestly felt like I was in an entire different world. It wasn’t crowded and extremely relaxing. More relaxing than Blue Lagoon & Sky Lagoon.

Incredible experience ! We have booked pour tickets in advance and we could even come earlier than the time indicated on pour ticket. The view on the sea and the temperature of the water is so nice. Drinking a beer when beeing in a bath is original and amazing !

We really enjoyed our visit to Geosea. It wasn’t originally on our plans, but it was 5 degrees C in July and we were so cold and our whale watching tour had just been cancelled. We are so grateful that the turn of evens brought us here. The water was perfectly warm and the views of the ocean were so comforting. Drinks here were really affordable and I loved that they had fresh fruit smoothies available - which were delicious. The staff were kind and helpful. We spent about 1.5 hours in total - and it was exactly what we needed.

Gorgeous modern sea water hot spa. Sit in the hot infinity pool staring out at the sea. One of my favourite places in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Amazing views and overall an amazing experience. This was extremely relaxing. However, we went on a night that wasn't super windy and we arrived at 9pm - we heard it can be quite busy during the day. The only downsides were that kids were allowed and swimming around and the mixed drinks were either poured super light or didn't even have alcohol in them.

One of my favourite hot springs in iceland, the changing room is clean quiet and Morden! The drink bar in water is nice, the staff is so friendly recommended us don’t rent the ropes because it is not a long way out to changing rooms. I recommend it to everyone!

This was a true Icelandic experience! Me and my partner went for an external oceanview hot bath for the first time and it was amazing! We really enjoyed having a sunset view to the ocean and the mountains.

Five star staff, the place is unique with great conditions and it was an amazing experience enjoying a warm bath and drinking cold beer with the sea and the mountains in front. We were really lucky to watch whales when we were in the pools. They have three different pools with different water temperatures and a sauna place. 100% recommended.

I really enjoyed this experience and I'm calling it an experience rather than a visit. It's not the biggest in terms of pool area but the views are the very best in Iceland from a pool in my opinion. We visited in February and it was bracing to say the least but kind of made the vibe even better as you battled against the freezing gale force wind just to get to the pool. However, I would advise, particularly if you're like me and a little short of hair on top, to wear a hat in those conditions. I was extremely glad of it!

Amazing experience! The staff was super friendly and professional! The building is very modern and comfortable. You can get a 10% discount if you go to the north watching whale whatching experience first. The locked rooms are amazing and super safe and clean. There are several pools with different temperature and one connected to the bar. Great place to see Northern lights.

Amazing little museum. The skeletons are impressive, but there is so much more. Bones you can touch, pictures from past eras, history on all kinds of topics, a movie theatre, and more. We enjoyed it even more than we thought we would.

Worth the admission just to see the Blue Whale skeleton. Smaller museum but full of information and so many whale skeletons. Highly recommend a stop if you’re in the area before or after a whale watch tour.

A great place to learn about our friends the whales and the impact made by us and them. Walk through a very well thought out layout of the beginning of whales all the way through to current events. The whale makes a huge positive impact on our environment. Our impact on them was a rude awakening and one definitely worth learning about.

By far one of my favourite museums so far, so happy to have finally seen a museum and focus of such an important and amazing bunch of beasts. I hold whales very close to my heart and walking through the history and future of our relationship with them was heart breaking and fulfilling at the same time. They really know how to make all of this information digestible for those who are not so aware of their importance and the human impact too. Thank you Húsavík! 🐋💙

The museum is a small but very nice museum that has all kinds of information about the animals as well as the election fishing and the history around it in Iceland. It also shows many exhibits in their real size and has various information about them on display. Very informative and you learn a lot about these beautiful animals.

Loved the whale museum, such a respectful and well curated collection, my wife loves whales so this was perfect for her, the stories behind each skeleton were very interesting (they are all pretty much beached whales so not sourced from hunting etc) and had english translations all over 😊

Wow, the whale skeletons alone make this place worth a visit. Full scale blue whale skeleton is a sight to behold. Narhwal skeleton was also really bizarre, the front tooth is super long and looks unnatural even. There was also a lot of info about whales, interactive things, preserved parts from whales and a short film. Lovely gift shop too.

First time visiting a whale museum! It’s one of a few in the world and they have a blue whale there and different kinds too. Wow. Loved this place and how they related to climate change effects and how it affects whales and the whole marine ecosystem.

Well designed museum with some stunning pieces! I easily spent about two hours reading, viewing, and thinking about their displays. Lots of wonderful history about Iceland as well.

Really interesting museum to see and get to know everything about whales. There are also real skeletons of different species of whales on the first floor and a giant skeleton of a 25m blue whale on the ground floor. You can get a 20% discount on the ticket (which we paid around 12€) if you book a whale watching tour with north sailing - Husavik whale watching.

I was not expecting such a lovely museum in such a small town! They have whale skeletons from several species that have washed up onto icelandic shores. Incredible blue whale skeleton. The museum was very informative and they show a documentary upstairs that is an interesting watch! The gift shop has some cute items. Staff were friendly and you get 20% if you have/will go whale watching! A must see if you're in the area.

What an amazing experience! We saw humpback whales, puffins, dolphins, seals, etc. AND I would have been happy with just the amazing views! It was an all around wonderful time. We had a great guide, smooth sailing, and we were all very warm!

This is amazing experience with great company! We did it at the end of November, they finish with the tours at the end of the month for the season. We were lucky to have only 6 other people with us that day, so it felt like private tour. Our guide was Miro, he did fantastic job. I have to say we got really lucky with weather, it was warm, absolutely no wind and we have seen so many whales I forgot the count! They give you overall and heavy raincoat, so you don't have to worry about being wet. The only recommendation-wear more socks. I wore just one thick pair with winter boots and that was the only part of my body that was cold from time to time, as you just stand there doing nothing. Wear as many pairs as you can fit 😂 The other tour provider (who pops first on google when you search for whale watching) had full boat of tourists and they came after us, so we always did get better view! Go with Gentle giants, you won't regret it. (Photos are not of high quality, it's just my phone, whales were closer than it looks)

Great service and nice boat :) suddenly we didn’t see any whales :( but it’s understandable, it’s nature. Want to admit that our guide Miro and captain did all the best to entertain us with interesting stories about whales. Also waves were crazy this day, almost everyone on the ship threw up :) but as I said, our guide helped us even with this as much as he could. Make sure in advance that you are ready for sea sickness (take some pills if needed because it’s really hard to handle 3 hours like it non stop) Also we received the vouchers to free visit again (any time in a lifetime) due to the fact we didn’t see any whales Outfit is provided (jacket and raincoat)

We did the GG1 Whale watching tour and I highly recommend it. The captain had an ethical approach and we didn't chase the whales which is stressful and risky, but we still saw blue and humpback whales. The guide is knowledgeable and passionate and we had an amazing time!

This was an amazing experience! We did the same „whales 3 h tour” last time in 2009, with the bad luck of not seeing even a single tale... but this year, after 14 years, we came back again and it was a breath-taking afternoon! So many humpback whales in the bay - and so magic moments to be near them! And we had the grace to play with some dolphins too, many puffins... On the way back to the harbor - to make the experience totally unforgettable, we also observed a majestic blue whale... The best tour ever! The guide was so passionate and lovely - special thanks to her! It was the 17.30 tour on 23rd June.

The crew was awesome :) we were able to see whales and dolphins but only for a short time, so we were not very lucky. The crew explained the best tours are when the sea is calmed, so I’d recommend to check that before booking your trip. The sea is wavy, so if you suffer from seasickness think it twice before getting on the boat.

Fantastic experience with Gentle Giants, highly recommend! We saw humpbacks, a bunch of different seabirds (yes, puffins lol) and seals, as well as a pod of dolphins. 10/10, would do again.

A great experience, we saw so many puffins and humpback whales! And our guide was just as excited as us. I recommend the RIB tour as you can get very close to the whales.

We enjoyed our tour overall, but maybe wish it had been noted at the start of the trip which end of the boat would be more inclined to get splashed with water as we had some choppy waves throughout our trip. The jump suits provided were water resistant but maybe due to age not fully waterproof anymore. I ended up feeling like i was sitting in water by the end and it turned out a decent amount had leaked through where i was sitting. We got splashed quite a bit by the water and i would have sat closer to the front if i knew this was more likely at the back. We only saw one whale, sadly, as the rougher water made for less ideal conditions but it was still a fun experience and we appreciated how the guide would quite accurately call out where the whale would likely be spotted next. Would be willing to try this tour again in the future and hopefully have a better viewing experience.

What a wonderful experience with Gentle giants! We managed to see 4 different whales in the span of 3 hours and the experience was so surreal. The team are very experienced and are always ahead in terms of spotting the whales. The guide also spoke English which was great! We took the 8am oak boat which was very much worth it imo because the boat wasn’t crowded so we all had enough space unlike what we witnessed on other boats. If you’re considering the rib boats, they’re much more expensive but you do get closer and faster to the whales.

This place is wonderful, from all the staff, the boats and the gear they provide it all. They are all very professional so nice. We visited on June 17th and the weather was on our side, it was gorgeous. Our guide Rui Duarte was awesome. We first went to see the puffins off an island fairly close to their dock, where we got to see thousands of puffins. Then we went a little further out and saw some blue whales. After about thirty minutes here we then went further out about 30 minutes or so and encountered humpback whales with one of them bubble netting their prey. We watched the humpbacks for quite some time. The one bubble netting we watched over and over again for more than 40 minutes, what a spectacular sighting it was! Finally, it was time to head back to shore and on the way, we encountered some dolphins! I highly recommend this excursion, it is not to be missed!

Really smooth and worthwhile experience!! We were lucky enough to spot many humpbacks :) if you don’t see any whales, you’re given a return ticket valid for any other time of any day.

The best Whale watch I have ever been on! Booked at short notice whilst in Iceland as original tour we had booked cancelled. Delighted to find that Gentle Giants have a reputation amongst other Icelandic tour operators as being ... 'simply the best Whale watch tour in Iceland' ... period! They were brilliant! Wonderful tour guide and skipper, saw many Humpbacks and a Minky. Booking onto a rib boat easily worth the extra money over a slower larger boat ... the skipper got us out quickly (whoop!) and then moved us around ... fast (whoop! again) Simple to find, easy to get kitted up and get onboard and ... what amazing backdrop scenery!!!

My wife and I had an amazing time out in the bay whale watching. The tour guides were wonderful, and they weren't afraid to move fast and get the boat close to the action. They also were happy to answer questions about the area and the aquatic life.

First of all, it's a really good experience. It doesn't matter the company. The price of the same type of boats is the same, and the spots where they go to watch the whales are the same. But they fill the boats too much. Except for those who sit at the very nose of the boat, others struggle to see anything or even nothing. Or you have to pay more money and take the smaller boats.

All food ordered are delicious, ordered 1 prawn tacos with salsa served with big prawn and fresh and with a squeeze of lemon on top it is so flavourful and refreshing the portion is big as in photo, another dishes is Icelandic fish stew surprisingly taste good when you judge it with its looks served with piece of rye bread yumyum. The 3rd is a fish of the day they served cos fish on the particular day which tasted really special with the sauces which I do not know what sauces is that. The restaurant just located behind whale watching centre which walk down from the staircase beside it.

We got a huge portion of french fries, which unfortunately was a bit too salty. The interiors are great, and the wood makes it a warm place, on a great central location for Husavik

Fish was quite tough and chewy. Not expecting Michelin star standard but was expecting fresh fish since it's literally beside the port. However the fish was dry and hard and tough. Definitely one of the worst fish and chips I've ever had.

Fish and chips and big portions! Crispy and warm. Would have loved that they have tried to solve the riddle, why is there so much plastic wasted for a meal to be served? The aesthetics and presentation would be better on real plates and real silverware. Is that better for the environment I really don't know? Nice and friendly people:-)

Small unassuming kiosk with a large terrace and indoor seating too. They have just one portion that it says right in the name. But that is all they need. Best one I've ever had. No unnecessary coating on the fish, just the bare minimum. The fish was so fresh, as if it had jumped to the plate from the sea. French fries were not that great, but the fish was just godlike. Does not look like much in the pictures, but better try it! Cheap too!

Unfortunately this place as definitely gone down. Have eaten 5 or 6 time here in the past and last time the fish was thin and dry. Decided to give it another go and it was the same this time. Too expensive for a meal in a box. And I don't know why they don't serve fillets rather then cut up small bits.

We got great fresh fish from here. Probably some of the best fish I've ever had in my life. Service was extremely quick and friendly, and prices are completely reasonable. We also got pretty big portions. I will definitely return to this place if I'm ever around here in the future.

A cool fancy seaside place. There is outdoor and indoor dining as well at the top deck. You can place your order and take it from downstairs. It was the first place I tried fish and chips in Iceland. It was comparatively costlier to the other places I had thereafter. But hunger knows no miser.

Very delicious fish and chips and big portions! The fish was really crispy and the chips too, also everything was salted at the right amount. You can sit down on they terrace, but whatch out for the gulls! Perfect meal after a whale watching tour, you get a discount, when you show you Gentle Giants Whale Watching Ticket. 1800 ISK is a very good deal for what you get!

Do yourself a favor and skip the lines at the restaurants and over to this place. Wonderfully seasoned and not too fried fish and chips. And at a great price for Iceland. Probably the best I've had. And throw in a view of the harbor for one fantastic post shake watching experience

Wooden house, good options for veggies and vegans. Good fries with vegan mayonnaise! Otherwise pizza, burger and several.other dishes. Fresh fish options as it is at the harbour. Kitchen open till 2100, reserve in summer months to be sure to get a table. Dishes come with good and fresh salad. Deserts are nice, too because there is sorbet ice suitable for vegans. And the brownies were very tasty with strong black coffee. For five main course plus drinks and deserts around 20K Icelandic crowns. When sunny there is a pleasant terras outside.

Awesome staff, interesting food combinations and very delicious. Ultimately cozy and comfortable inside. Gentle Giants discount works here too. Food is served with free vase of water which is nice. Coffee and syrup are yummy but I suggest taking milk to it.

A restaurant right next to the whale watching information office. We checked other restaurants as well but this one had “fish of the day” (come on! It’s a fishing town…!) and we recommend ordering this with the local Husavík beer!

It was a very good stop on the way. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The fish soup was excellent. The fish of the day was not tasty enough and a bit boring.

Pizza was great. The jalapeño and garlic breadsticks were even better.

Fairly nice restaurant in Húsavík. The menu had a few different selections, which tasted pretty good. The breadsticks were a real highlight. Though the open door policy meant flies were all over the place during dining.

We had to wait a bit to be seated since It was very packed, but It was totally worth It. Top quality food and amazing staff. Special mention to Sunneva who did a great job in managing the continuous big wave of customers. Salka Is a restaurant you definetely want to try if you are in Husavík

This was the perfect place to have dinner after our whale watching tour. Conveniently located right by all the attractions on the harbor. Beautiful decor adds to the enjoyment of your meal. Great choices for starters, entrees and desserts. Daily fish specials are not to be missed. The spotted catfish was delicious. There's a full service bar too. Don't skip the desserts, the chocolate brownies were the best. Vegan options are available too. Such a great way to end a day on the water.

Amazing place to take the lunch We had pasta with mushrooms and fish of the day. Everything was perfect, the serving was flawless, and the food very delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised by cappuccino.

Melt-in-your-mouth fish and bacon. I could have stayed there for hours sipping coffee and relaxing. The atmosphere is perfect sea-side comfort. I popped in after lazing in the GeoSea thermal baths up the road. This place was perfectly delicious!

We had sandwiches for lunch. The smoked trout sandwich was very good, as was the strawberry rhubarb coffee cake. The ham and cheese wrap was ok. The chocolate croissant was very good. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean.

Great interiors. High prices. Oreo cake wasn’t good, it was an industrial cake, same as in N1 stations but more than twice the price. Avoid this place.

Their vegetarian burger, sweet potato fries, soup and cakes are all great + I loved the cozy atmosphere so I visited twice during my one night stay in Husavik.

Some of the staff is completely disappointing! The girl opened us the door, letting us take a sit. After waiting for 10 mins, we approached the bar to order and she said the kitchen was already closed.

We dropped by after our whale watching tour around 6:30pm and the place was packed and the kitchen was busy. We were hungry so we requested that we order takeout which they happily accepted. We got the food and sat down on one of the outdoor tables. All the food were very tasty and flavorful. Fish soup is a must try.

10000% recommend this restaurant. the food was fresh and flavourful. we had the salmon which was excellent but the true star was the catch of the day, blue ling. i had never eaten it before… and it was DIVINE!!!! our plates were spotless by the end! the atmosphere was cosy and i want to extend my sincerest thanks to the staff who were understanding of our request not to put alcohol in the sauce as we are muslim.

Good restaurant and friendly stuff, but you should make a reservation for dinner. As a starter we had the fish soup, which was great. The best we had in Iceland. For the main course we tried the lamb and the fish. Both were very good. The chocolate cake was ok, but nothing special.

Very good food. We have been there twice and the food was always excellent. The small drawback is that we needed to remind ourselves to the staff that we would like to order or pay.

Our third visit, and just as good as the first two times. Excellent delicious food, all locally sourced including the catch of the day from the bay you can see from the windows! Brilliant service and coped well with allergies as well. Definitely worth visiting when in Husavik!

We had a nice dinner here, just make sure you have a reservation, it is usually full at 7-8 pm. We had the soup starter, which was good, slightly spicy, not as hot as others say it is :) As main courses we had the Bacala and Lamb, both were good. The chocolate cake was tasty, we were surprised it was hot, like a lava cake :))

Such an excellent meal and cute location. Brilliant fish soup, fish of the day, mussels and lamb. Would highly recommend. We went for a late lunch/early dinner at 5:30 after whale watching and it hit the spot perfectly!

I stopped in mid-afternoon and decided to try their specialty fish soup and it was fantastic. Lots of root vegetables and shrimps with a good portion of cod throughout. They say it can be too spicy for some people but it was perfect for me. The bread was fresh and perfect for mopping up.

Homely food and atmosphere. Would recommend. Probably the best restaurant in iceland so far. Loses one star for forgetting dessert order.

Best restaurant we visited on our Iceland trip. I can 100% recommend this place, especially if you want to try some fantastic seafood and traditional Icelandic dishes. Moreover, the service was excellent starting from the welcome, bringing us to our table and giving us some recommendations regarding food and wine. Also i have to mention the cute house the restaurant is in with all the little details in decorations and interior making you feel like home.

Wow, what a fantastic meal we had here. The batter on the fish and chips was to die for. The chips were french fries style, so could have been triple cooked chunky to be better, but thats splitting hairs. It was delicious. My other half had the fish of the day which was cooked on a skewer with pepper and onions in a creamy white wine sauce with asparagus . The best food weve had in iceland. Nice setting and interesting history in the menu. Highly recommended

Went here for dinner . There were 10 of us. They made a space upstairs for all of us to eat together. The food was real good. The weight staff was very nice. Forget about a couple of bed baskets that we had ordered. Maybe because we were upstairs and out of the way but in that it was good

Really good meal, beautiful interior, nice staff. The soup and fish of the day was 💯. Also, if you do a whale tour with Giant Whales you get a discount here too which is perfect to get a hot meal after hours in the sea.

Great experience! Incredibly tasty seafood and vegetable soup and best salmon of my life! My friends ordered the fish of the day (cod) and it was also extremely good. I spent ISK 2300 for the soup and ISK 5100 for the salmon (tot 50 €). The food was so good that we decided to come back the day after.

The BEST fish soup I’ve ever had in my life. The fresh bread was perfect. Fish of the day was to die for. The fish melted in my mouth, and the potatoes and side salad were so flavorful. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely DELICIOUS. Don’t miss this locally owed restaurant if you’re in the area!

Being a Kiwi I’ve had plenty of fish and chips throughout my life so rarely does trying a new fish and chips surprise me as a stand out meal. Well that changed when I ordered it at Naustið. Their fish and chips had everything right. The chips were fried perfectly crispy, the sauce was excellent, the fish could not have been any better. The batter was more on the thicker side but somehow managed to be as flakey and crispy as a thin batter and it made this outer coat very unique and one of the best I’ve ever tried. The fish itself was incredible tender and fresh, combining this all with the sauce was like a symphony of flavour in my mouth after each bite. Wow, probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and I’ve had probably 50 different ones in my life. Do yourself a favour and try the fish and chips here!
