Sa Proa is a restaurant that offers regional fish dishes and paella in a relaxed atmosphere with stunning sea views. While some restaurants in the area can be expensive, Sa Proa maintains consistent pricing throughout the year, providing great food at reasonable prices. It is known for its authentic caldereta de langosta, making it a top choice for those wanting to experience the true flavors of the island. The restaurant also receives praise for its excellent service and artistic presentation of food.
This place is one of the best around. Amazing lobster caldereta and despite being a fish restaurant the meat is also excellent!

Nice lunch with the family on a cloudy August day. We had the monkfish and the sea bass with a local Menorcan Chardonnay to let them swim. Kids had the kids menu. All dishes were good and well prepared.
Lenhard Hübscher — Google review
Excellent restaurant with great and fast service. Don't miss the tataki menorquín with sobrassada. Food it's well prepared with very good prices. Wine list it's good and there's a wine for any budget. Well worth it.
luislukas — Google review
A firm favourite of ours. Excellent service, food very artistically presented and nicely executed. Three of us had monkfish with prawns in garlic, one had chicken breast. Nice selection of moderately priced wines. Only gripe is that the portions are on the small side. The two guys in our party left feeling somewhat hungry.

Local food with great quality and price. Really lovely place and service in front of the sea. A+

Brilliant service - the staff were very attentive and welcoming. The seafood Paella was beautiful, as it was to look over the bay with a chilled glass of vino.

Very nice food, great chef. The only bad thing was the waitress she would not say her name, but really rude. Besides her amazing place.

If you're looking for a cozy and welcoming Mediterranean restaurant, Can Tanu in Fornells is the place to go. This family-run establishment offers a warm and homely atmosphere, perfect for a nice family meal. Their menu boasts delicious dishes such as their famous paellas and specialty lobster broth, all made with the finest ingredients and lots of love. Seafood lovers will be thrilled with their selection of fish dishes, particularly their mouth-watering lobster stew.
Fantastic family run restaurant father go out to catch the fish mother cookes it son serving you, Definitely not to be missing if you are in the area,

Just reopened and very quiet in Fornells, so the atmosphere was lacking, but this was to be expected. Tried to find a menu online before visiting to see if any of the lobster and shellfish dishes which I absolutely love would be available for one person (partner allergic to some mariscos). Sadly no luck. Everything I craved and had so looked forward to was only for two people. So pescaditos fritos to start. Tasty, but no garnish at all, lemon had to be requested. Mains were monkfish for me and Menorcan lamb chops for partners. Mine…potatoes stone cold, partner … delicious fried potatoes. No condiments on the table or visible to go get myself and waiter had gone away, so no chance. I’m sure that when they hit their stride in the summer months it is wonderful if two of you want the same main course. For me, I can safely say there are restaurants that easily surpass this and I will return to my favourite ones in the future.

Really nice restaurant, food was delicious and staff was really friendly and did their best to make us and the tables around have a wonderful evening. Large portions and high product quality. We ordered the octopus a la gallega and the black rice.. outstanding! Will definitely come back! Thanks so much guys!
Paola Garc?a Huss — Google review
The croquettas that we were served were still frozen in the center. Without apologizing, the waitress took them away and put them in the microwave, not including the two we took a bite of, instead of bringing back fresh ones. Finally we had to pay full price for half the dish. The rest of the food was okay.
Binori Kodagoda — Google review
Waited 4 days for a table so was expecting a lot. The food was good but value for money ? Definitely not . How can you charge €12 for bread with tomato ?
Tony E — Google review
Incredible experience! We had the seafood platter which was absolutely divine, the quality and cooking of the dish was totally on point. The atmosphere and the staff was brilliant! Local family owned business made with passion, love and care! Thank you so much for the memorable evening :-)
Alex D — Google review
Very welcoming and helpful staff. However the food was not good at all. I ordered some zamburinas (small scallops) which were cold in the middle, I understood they were frozen. We then had a sea food paella which was a real disappointment, sea food were not fresh as well, my friend was sick all night. The house was honest enough to not charge us the paella when they noticed that we did not eat it.

We were drawn to this place due to the number of amazing reviews and we were not disappointed by anything. We ordered some starters and then Caldereta de Marisco during a rainy day and everything was just perfect: the food, the atmosphere, the service. The chef also came out and greeted all the guests, she was extremely nice. I can't recommend enough this restaurant!
Francesco Onion — Google review
Excellent and very attentive service throughout. We had the "Caldereta de langosta con arroz" for 2, accompanied by some white wine. The waiter/waitress looked after us, the head chef came out at some point and spent a few minutes with guests at each of the tables, and before getting the bill we got a complimentary "Pomada" coctail (local gyn + lemonade). We could have not chosen a better place to dine in Fornells.

Amazing restaurant set in top location in Fornells. Proper local food. Legit. Staff and chef welcoming and friendly. Fideuá (local variation of paella) was 🚀

Best octopus ever (Galician style - tons of paprika). Skip it if you don't like paprika! 🤣 Otherwise, go for it. The chef came out and asked everyone how the food was, which was a delightful, personal touch. My fellow diner was appalled at my ability to inhale such quantities of octopodes. 🐙🐙🐙
Morwenna Stewart — Google review
The food and the service was bad. We were served frozen croquettas and had to pay the full price even though half the dish was binned and the other half finished cooking in the microwave. Disappointing.
Curtis Sellier — Google review
We had an incredible dining experience at Can Tanu. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was simply outstanding. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying their lobster stew - it was an absolute delight. This restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return.

Sa Llagosta is a standout seafood restaurant in Menorca, particularly recommended by local seafood enthusiasts. Situated in the charming seaside village of Fornells, the establishment is renowned for its fresh seafood options. With a focus on lobster dishes, their must-try specialty is the caldereta menorquina, a stew frequently mentioned by celebrity Chef Jose Andres. Fornells itself is an idyllic coastal destination and Sa Llagosta offers an unassuming yet excellent dining experience by the water.
(Translated by Google) We visited Sa llagosta recommended by a friend who goes to Menorca every summer. We were between another place and this one, but we decided on Sa lagosta. The lobster stew is very good, we see that the price has gone up quite a lot in relation to other interventions by other customers where they put the price, but this is understandable due to the current increases. The restaurant introduces dishes that are more elaborate than the rest, with avant-garde touches such as the sardines we shared as starters. The total price, excluding anything (dessert, bottle of wine, water, beers and coffees) €240 between two people. Molt recomanable

(Translated by Google) First, explain that my score is between 4 and 5 ☆, basically because it lacks slight details to improve, in a place where you spend almost €100 on average, under normal conditions. I hope to come back, and then arrive at 5☆. It is a modernized eating house, a current restaurant, where the product rules, but without forgetting avant-garde winks in the elaborations. Small place inside (tables a little close together), with a maritime decoration, and a terrace by the sea. High level tomato, from our own garden, and with a delicious dressing; good little nettles with hummus (a good combination); rich bread and oil; tasty rockfish tartar with salicornia; a gratin lobster with alioli, level 🔝. Correct desserts, for a good ending, but overpriced, in my opinion. Interesting wine list, with enough variety and quality. Attentive and pleasant service, but with faults, correctable, in the knowledge of wines and in the clearing of the table between courses and before desserts. However, I would have no problem repeating it, since despite the price, the RCP seems adequate for its quality.

Probably the best “caldereta de langosta” (lobster stew) you can get in the island. But also the priciest, €91 euros per person and it’s a minimum of two, just for the stew, no drinks or other courses. But a great experience overall. The food was amazing, make sure to come hungry and not order too many appetizers. Also make sure you reserve in advance

The cava we ordered, the first option on the menu, the second in price if I remember correctly, without being spectacular, was good, and in general everything we ordered was very good, apart from the fact that the terrace is in a privileged place. We will return for the stew as soon as we have the opportunity. The employees are all very nice, pleasant and attentive, the truth is that it is a great experience. Special mention for the anchovies, a delight. One of mine and my partners favourite spots when we went to menorca . If we could of gone there every night we would of ! Situated in Fornells which is very quiet at night time however, Okapi was always busy ! The best spot in Fornells . The food was amazing , the drinks were delicious . The staff were all so friendly . Walking distance from where we were staying . Nothing bad to say about this place . If we ever come back to Menorca this is definitely on our list to return . Our favourite was the Picanha , the chicken wings started and the chorizo & pineapple starter . Favourite cocktail was the orgasm . Favourite dessert was the baileys tiramisu !

Great place. It is not a fancy restaurant, it is a normal place with really good food and a nice beach/vacation vibe to it. It gets a bit warm in the inside, but at night the terrace has a nice breeze and feels perfect. They are very attentive and nice. Food and service are both excellent. Price is fairly adjusted (not expensive at all). I was there last year and this year, both times great. I will definitely come back.

We are at this bar/restaurant most days on our holiday. We cannot speak highly enough of the food, service, atmosphere and wonderful view from the bar/restaurant. We ate a variety of meals and they all delivered on quality. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and it was a pleasurable experience for each day we ate there. Would highly recommend if you are in the area or worth a drive to experience this if not local.

Staying nearby we fancied a change of scenery, booked the same day and when we turned up they were fully booked. Have to say that my wife, myself and our two young daughters were welcomed in and accommodated. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. Have to say we didn’t mind paying that bit extra! If ever in the region please visit but I would advise booking up if eating

Very good service and place to enjoy food, the paella called "es crac" is just very average but high quantity that is it good but the starters were quite good, the final price without wine was close to 35 euros per person, as reviewed the paella of marsico should be chosen not this one. Service again makes this restaurant really good.

Dear reader, What an amazing place to dine for lunch. I would strongly recommend you book in advance. I took a chance and as there was only two of us, they found some space. Believe if we were more, might have been a struggle. This restaurant is very popular with locals and foreigners alike. So a great mix of atmosphere. The sea food is just exceptional. Very well prepared, and looks and tastes great. We decided on the lobster and we were not disappointed. Looking at other dishes around us, and the faces of the customers, their feeling was the same as mine… satisfaction. Located in a great spot, and free parking is near by. You can take in some of the tourist spots or just have an amble around town before dining. A must location as you travel around the island.

Worth the hype Great atmosphere with incredible lobster dishes 🦞 The homemade cheesecake was fluffy and light, almost like a whipped cream. It was so good it made me think (just for a minute) that maybe I could be a cheesecake person.

Simply the best crema catalan we have ever tasted. The service was first class and friendly. The restaurant is well known for its fish dishes but we don't eat fish. The meat dishes were tasty though. Prices for the fish were not cheap but not much different to other places in the area. Prices for meat dishes were reasonable and the vegetables were nice too, although i could have eaten more veg. Got bonus marks for the Creme Catalan and the service.

I wouldn’t bother with this place. Immediate arrogance as you walk in at 07:55 and they tell you to come back at 8. Then they pretend not to know about the booking you made a month ago. Twice. They don’t answer the phone to confirm the booking either. Should have known when I saw the Michelin stick on the door.

The best dining experience we had in Menorca. First, the location and views are hard to beat. Very picturesque spot and surroundings. Secondly, I felt that the service was personal and of high quality. Even though the place was full, we felt very welcome and comfortable. Unlike some other restaurants of same range, I loved the quality of the ingredients and the fact that the products and their original taste were respected and not over-salted. We tried cheesecake for a dessert and found it a bit intense, i’d recommend it to guests who appreciate flavorful farmers milk taste . Next time, I’d rather try crema catalana.

Food is amazing as all reviews and external sites suggest. But, service needs to improve, customers need to be treated with more respect and empathy, which seems to be good if customer is local, despite being the first arriving at opening time, they let in many customers that arrived later, they also rudely kick out anyone arriving without booking. we ordered lobster "asopado", but they never presented the live lobster to us, whilst they were doing so for other customers, if you are paying such a huge amount for a lobster I would expect they ensure customers that what you are eating is fresh, was not the case. The food deserves to be tried at least once but If you try this restaurant my recommendation is to demand a respectful service.

Es Cranc is a must during your stay in Menorca. It’s in a seaside village of Fornells which is stunning. Worth a walk before dinner. I often travel with at least one vegetarian, there are some options but this restaurant is more for those who want to try a lot of high quality seafood. The boiled and grilled Lobster is superb as are the langoustine. The razor clams were so good we reordered. The chipirones (small fried squid) were too 10% I had on the trip. Bravo
