French restaurant
DeVilles, a charming eatery nestled in the Dalkey neighborhood, has been serving rich and comforting cuisine with a touch of French flair for over a decade. With an emphasis on bistro-style dishes ranging from classic French onion soup to delectable steak frites, their menu is sure to satisfy any palate. The establishment boasts an extensive wine list predominantly featuring French selections. Patrons can expect a warm and inviting ambiance while being attended to by exceptionally friendly staff members.
I loved everything during my lunch at DeVille's! First I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff is extremely nice. Then the food was super tasty and cocktails were delicious! It's definitely one of the best restaurant I have tried in the area, highly recommend it!

Had a terrific lunch here; the crab avocado tian with the ginger and lemongrass foam was Michelin quality! The steak sandwich which we asked to include cheese was also excellent with a generously thick chargrilled piece of rib eye. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the Onion Soup, which came with two thick slices of sour brown bread floating inside? Rather than the traditional toasted white croutons. It would also be nice to get the croutons and cheese separately and then have the option to add to your own taste. But I would definitely be back here to try more of their dishes!

Delicious DeVilles. What a great find! Walking through Dalkey we stumbled across this magnificent restaurant with delicious food and all very reasonably priced. There are a small number of tables outside, but inside there is a lovely selection of private booths and tables to ensure a safe and comfortable dining experience for all. White table cloths, very upmarket and great personal service from the manager and Antoine, the waiter from Avignon. We enjoyed delicious, juicy salmon and creamy moules frites, followed by a very tasty café gourmand. Lovely staff. Fabulous dining experience. We will be back. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and the staff couldn’t be more attentive and friendly. Very busy on a Friday evening and great atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back!

Excellent restaurant on the main street in Dalkey. We took advantage of the good weather last Friday & visited Dalkey. Came across this restaurant & were lucky to get a table for lunch which is served from around 12 to 3 pm. Our table was in a small area opposite a very busy kitchen but we would have preferred the front area as it seemed to have all the buzz. Food was very good. My wife had a steak sandwich & the meat was done perfectly. I had the hake which was beautiful & light. The waiting staff were so friendly. Definitely a must visit place but book in advance.

We just moved to the area and we are absolutely delighted to have such a stellar establishment nearby. I'm sure everything on the menu is good, but we find ourselves ordering the steaks each time we visit, because they are exquisite, and come with irresistibly tasty chunky chips; even the greens are top notch. I expect to fill a lifetime of good memories here, and it's not just the impressive food, the waiters pay close attention to the details, glass is never empty, you never have to wait more than a second to get their attention etc. I would love to try other restaurants in the area but it's hard for them to compete at this level.

Worth a review! Food was excellent, great service. Lovely buzz. Great little neighbourhood spot which attracts locals and tourists alike. Good value too, given quality of food. Would definitely recommend.

Four of us went here for a meal at 1pm on a Saturday. Thankfully we reserved a table as the couple ahead of us didn't and they ate at the bar. Upon being seated, we were given glasses of water while we perused the menu. The menu wasn't extensive but I didn't have any difficulty finding something to suit my limited taste in food. We were surprised at how long it took for the food to arrive, it really didn't look that busy. However, we all enjoyed our food which was club sandwiches, mussels and fish and chips. Our server was lovely and very attentive. It only cost us €70 for four main meals. There was no alcohol, just sparkling water so that kept the price down. Of course, there was a tip added on top of that.

Great food and a menu that has everything. Cocktails are great here too with a French bistro feel that is nice and warm in the winter. I think this place is nicer mid week as you can relax and stay a bit longer. Can be a little rushed on the weekend but all round very good spot

We were sitting outside with our doggy, couldn't enjoy an atmosphere inside, but it looked lovely. Anyway, I loved this place. delicious food, and very friendly staff. Their chowder was amazing. Fish and chips is just perfect, that a couple of side dips make it special.

Restaurant
Located in Dalkey, Dublin, 1909 Restaurant & Wine Bar is a popular dining spot known for its exquisite cuisine and extensive wine selection. This restaurant has garnered positive reviews from visitors and is considered a top choice for those seeking an exceptional dining experience. With a reputation for serving delectable dishes and offering an impressive array of wines, 1909 Restaurant & Wine Bar stands out as a must-visit establishment in the area.
Four of us had lunch outdoors at 1909 yesterday for the first time, having had dinner indoors here a few times previously. Lunch and service was absolutely excellent. We chose from the set menu. The range and quality was excellent. Superb vegetarian options - such as a four cheese wellington. Best lobster bisque starter I ever had. Highly recommended. There was a 10% service charge on the bill - it's not clear whether that goes to the server or is shared - would be good to clarify this on the menu.
Brian Kennan — Google review
Nice restaurant set in a period building in the Main Street of Dalkey. They offer regular Irish pub grub and some other European dishes. Food was nice but not excellent. Our server, while very professional, was a bit overbearing and very impersonal. They also had a “voluntary” 10% tip which we didn’t feel was entirely voluntary or well deserved. The ambiance on the first floor restaurant is much better than on the top floor. I also found it a bit expensive for what it is. Worth a try once but won’t return again.
Kanika Singh — Google review
I am afraid I am extremely disappointed with the restaurant, although, the service was very nice. I asked to remove the tomato from the hamburger and they brought it with it; after telling the waiter, they forgot the bacon when they brought it again. I told them but they didn't bring it. On top of that, they charged for some side BROCCOLI (they don't bring the bacon but they charge for the side) and they added the MANDATORY 10% on top of the bill. If you are charging almost 20 euro for a hamburger, I am expecting some professional service, and to ask how the meat is cooked (well done, rare, etc). I don't know if the problem was in the kitchen or working too much, but I am still waiting for my bacon.

Amazing service from Justin and the team at 1909, absolutely impeccable, everything we ate was on point, we were a large group and we’re well taken care of. Lamb was perfect, steaks were delectable, as was the salmon and the sides well portioned and really tasty, wine selection is out of this world, and cocktails made well, would definitely eat here again, and recommended anyone in town to do so!

I came a bit by chance after seeing an elderly couple enter. Really liked it: delicious, cheaper options available, free sparkling water with the lunch menu. You can eat inside or outside.

IMPECCABLE SERVICE! Thank you to our waiter Rowan! Ireland is well known for the polite service but this was a cherry on top! Had beer battered fish and chips with a cool beverage. Greatest dish I’ve had in a while. Would absolutely travel back to Ireland for this place. One of our table had their birthday and they brought out a creme brule with fruit - happy birthday written on the plate. What a lovely surprise! Thank you again to Rowan & the cooks!!

1909 was a great find in Dalkey and we had the best dining experience in this restaurant while visiting Dublin for a week from the USA. The staff and food were terrific. The restaurant has a cosy ambiance that provides a nice sanctuary from the fast changing weather elements. We had their Mussels and Fries, Steak and Lamb Shank, which were all cooked to perfection. Two in our group were French, and they LOVED the complex sauce of the mussels. My daughter said she had the best steak ever which was succulent and tender, cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and very attentive to us and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this restaurant for elevating your Ireland experience. Cheers!

Very original set up. I am not sure if I like the booth, but... I guess it's matter of taste. I am not sure if a slow service is a thing in Dublin. 😁 As everywhere we went it took a while for us to order a meal. When we arrived, it wasn't that busy. It looked like they were very understaffed. I am guessing it was a manager meeting and seating guests, then he was trying to take orders, serve drinks.... When we've ordered our meal, it came out very fast. The chicken "Parmigiana“ it was outstanding. The guy didn't mind sharing the secret of the dish. I had Lamb shank, that it was nice, but I hoped for a little bit of a wow factor after tasting the chicken. I am glad that our daughter point it out about 10 percent tip charge on the bill. As we normally leave a little bit more than that, but if we haven't seen it....

Excellent restaurant with very talented kitchen staff supported by a very committed owner. They manage to make very simple ingredients taste really special. Food accompanied by a very good selection of wines. Prawn stater followed by the special ‘Yorkshire pudding and mash potatoes’. Main course description does not do justice to what was one of the best main courses I have had in years. P.S. there’s wonderful meat in the pud. All I need is an excuse to go back.
K M — Google review
the food itself is absolutely delicious! the only issue would be that the space is suitable for small group and intimate dinners. toilets are way down the narrow stairs and the toilet space is really really tiny, the dryer being right by the toilet bowl doesn't really cut it. service seems slower than usual. since the restaurant closes by 11pm, sometimes the waiter could do a little nudging of the customers to order faster and move it along...but of course this wouldn't fit the local dining culture.

In Dalkey for a week and went by 1909 on our last day. I'm from France ans my partner from Spain both living in Scotland so always looking for a good place to eat. We had the calamari to start and very soft, just enough crumbs, it was really good. Then we both had the filet mignon with brandy Peppercorn sauce, one with chips one with mash. The steaks were cooked perfectly, still juicy and tender just the way it's supposed to be. Homemade mash was really good as well and chips were not oily at all with a touch of paprika on top. I had after the Creme brulee of course and once again so good, the top wasn't too hard as it can sometimes be but still had the right amount of crunchiness. My partner had a bailey's coffee with the cream on top done perfectly. For the meal we had the Merlot from France, easy to drink and very tasty. If we had a bit more budget we would have gone with another one as they have a really and tasty red wine list with good vintage. We finished with an espresso martini (foam again was perfect) and a whisky. We also had a shot of limoncello coming with the bill. However its not all about the food, our waiter Csaba was amazing, attentive, welcoming and let us go have a sneak peak at the upstairs which felt like we were in a different time. Might a bit pricing if you're on a budget but I would definitely recommend going there and cook for a few days at home later 😉

Situated at 107 Coliemore Rd in Dalkey, The Club Bar and Restaurant is a must-visit spot. Upon entering, you are greeted with a welcoming ambiance that immediately puts you at ease. The charming wooden decor and traditional pub style provide a delightful setting for an unforgettable dining experience. Established in 1840, this establishment is a well-known drinking spot in Dalkey.
Lovely place to grab a bite to eat or go for some pints. Very relaxed traditional style pub. Food quality is very good. There is also some outdoor seating

It was really quiet when we arrived around 2PM on a Saturday, just a dozen or so customers. We were told it was due to the rugby game the previous night. The interior is lovely and old, but it's so dark. There were a few men sitting on their own having a quiet drink, obviously this atmosphere suited them. Our server was lovely and very patient with an 'elderly' member of our group. We ordered the chicken wings for joint starters and they were delicious. For the main meal, I had a beef burger and chips but wasn't overly impressed with either. My wife had the chicken burger and she wasn't particularly enamoured with her choice either.

A lovely pub and food good enough for pub food. The same price range as other places. I did not like that I was asked to move table twice for bookings as we were also patrons and had food and drink. Personally, I am not a fan of this new trend of asking people to leave their table.

Came here with a rag tag group and loved the space and atmosphere. Seems they do have something of a members club that folks seemed connected to, but not in any kind of inaccessible way. Decently priced pints and good service make this a great place to swing into.

Very disappointing experience at this place. No one cleaned our table before serving us. We ordered buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese dip and chips. Food was very poor quality. The dip tasted nothing like blue cheese. Wings were tiny, dried out and underneath the buffalo sauce had a bbq flavour, so they must have been reheated with a fresh sauce. We didn’t finish the food. No one came up to check in on us. When we communicated that we weren’t happy with the food, staff member just shrugged her shoulders and still charged the full price. No apology or anything. Really disappointed with the service and food. Quality of food did not reflect menu price. Would not recommend!!!
Aiste Petraityte — Google review
We was just walking by, so had no expectations, just wanted to have a dinner. The place itself has a character, an atmosphere, which is really nice. The staff was really nice and helpful, and the pints were great. But the food was mediocre, to say the best. I ordered ribeye, medium - what I got wasn't more like well done, and maybe the reason for that was that it was one of the thinnest ribeyes I've seen in my life. My wife ordered chicken wings, and they were surprisingly cold - I mean, not exactly cold, but not as hot as if they were just out of the fryer, like they were re-heated. So, if you want to have a pint in a good and authentic place - way to go, but if you want to have a good food, maybe you should check some other places, luckily there's plenty nearby.

A great meal with the usual reliable quality, atmosphere and service. The Club will never disappoint, best hidden gem in Dalkey. Locals know this for decades, try it for yourself with the best pints of Guinness around and a great friendly atmosphere.

We made the best decision to stop at this bar and restaurant with nice local food! We were looking for fish options and they were offering the fish of the day so we went for that and we also finally tried the seafood chowder! We were both pretty happy about our choices! Also nice vibes inside the restaurant and staff very friendly! We really had a good time and the price was affordable compared to the other places we were looking at in Dalkey :)

Quite possibly the worst experience we’ve had while traveling. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you know you’re not welcome. If you’re not a “regular”, you will be ignored until you want to leave. And then you can’t even leave because you can’t get someone to bring you the check, we waited for an hour to pay for one mediocre and poorly made drink. Absolutely do not recommend.

The restaurant Ouzos is a seafood delight with Ivan Toole supplying the crab, shrimp and lobster. The menu has a range of appetizers and main courses with sauces and sides to choose from. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. The only criticism would be that the wine list could use some improvement, but overall, this wonderful restaurant deserves 5 stars!
Ouzos in Dalkey deserves a standing ovation, especially for their 1kg Lobster Thermidor! But let's rewind a bit - before diving into this seafood marvel, I kicked off with their delightful Seafood Chowder. A perfect prelude to what became an unforgettable seafood feast! 🥣🦐 Flashback to a bustling Dublin evening in October, and amidst the rugby night rush, Ouzos emerged as a true gem. The 1kg Lobster Thermidor was the star of the show - succulent, rich, and utterly satisfying. It was an indulgence that made the city buzz fade into the background. Ouzos isn't just about exquisite seafood; it's about an experience. The quality, the flavours, and the warmth of the ambiance all contribute to a memorable dining affair. If you're a seafood enthusiast or just seeking an exceptional meal in Dalkey, Ouzos is an absolute must-visit. 🦞✨

Perfect!! The very best meal we had during our holidays in Ireland. We shared mussels as a starter and then had the grilled lobster. Delicious! Olivia served us with her wonderful smile and she made us feel very welcome. Thank you, Olivia. This is the place to be and eat in Dalkey!

Ouzos is a delightful place in a delightful location. We enjoyed perfectly fried and crisp calamari with a spicy chili jam. My wife had scampi and chips and they were tasty and delicious. My lobster and crab salad was perfect: avocado, mozzarella, fresh veggies and fantastic lobster and prawn claws. Just look at.the picture, although it can not convey how satisfied I was. Staff is kind, quick and always smiling. We will definitely go back, it's now our favourite fish place.
Alex Bianco — Google review
Disappointing experience. Apparently (my friend had it) burger is as good. It looked good. Hence two stars. My meal on the other hand was truly disappointing. Chicken Cesar salad- not overly complicated and difficult dish. I never have massive expectations when I order it as it is only a bit of chicken with salad dressing on cos lettuce. Saying that some places can make it so delicious you just can’t stop eating it. In Ouzos it’s not the case. Chicken- tasteless!!! Very little of it. Not to mention that it was pinkish inside. Sent it back and got feedback from the chef that it’s cooked and that’s just how chicken looks like. Salad dressing had not much taste either and a bit of parmesan cheese was there but i couldn’t really taste it. Restaurant has nice ambiance. Waiting staff was nice but completely forgot about our drink order. It was also a pretty long wait even though the place wasn’t busy at all. Personally would not recommend and will not be coming back.

Back again for the fish & chips! Really really good but I’d love to see the little extras at Ouzos; some nice breads before the meal, a surprising garnish with the main dish and a mint to cleanse the palate at the end of the meal. More peas with the fish & chips please! I will be back.

Wow what a gem of a place!!!. We literally stumbled across this place as tired hungry travellers with very hungry 2 yr old and 6yr old in tow. We were treated to one of the best restaurant experiences of our lives definately of our Ireland adventures. The service was top notch the food delicious and authentically Italian. The owner even did a magic trick for my tired hungry kids whilst they waited for their food. They were in awe. As my 6 yr old said i give this place 100/100. We all agreed. We will be talking about our evening with you for a long time to come. Thanks you we will be back next time we are in Dublin.

Stepping into Ragazzi was like stepping into a sun-drenched trattoria along the Amalfi Coast, where fresh ingredients and culinary artistry intertwine to create an unforgettable dining experience. Our server, Alex, exuded genuine warmth and attentiveness, expertly guiding us through the menu's delectable offerings. The bruschetta, a symphony of ripe tomatoes, basil, and tangy olive oil, set the stage for an Italian feast. The Tortellini Spinach pasta, a delicate dance of spinach ribbons encased in plump, pillowy dumplings, was a testament to Ragazzi's mastery of pasta-making. And the Veg pizza, a canvas for a symphony of roasted vegetables, mozzarella, and a hint of fresh herbs, transported us to the heart of Italy. As we savored every bite, we couldn't help but marvel at the authenticity of the flavors. Each dish was a testament to Ragazzi's commitment to using the finest ingredients, prepared with passion and expertise. Portion sizes were generous, leaving us satiated but not overly full – a testament to the restaurant's understanding of true Italian dining. With a sigh of contentment, we reluctantly bid farewell to Ragazzi, our hearts and bellies filled with the flavors and hospitality that had transported us to a sun-kissed corner of Italy. If you're seeking a culinary adventure that will tantalize your taste buds and warm your soul, Ragazzi is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be swept away by the magic of Italian cuisine, and don't forget to savor every bite – you might just find yourself reminiscing about this delightful experience long after your meal has ended. Grazie, Ragazzi!

Extremely bad service. When we arrived there was No seats available inside. Also adding if you read the reviews people .. I'm not the only one that had such a bad experience in this restaurant and the manager needs some classes on attitude towards guests in his restaurant. I asked a member of staff could they leave the outside heater on as it was getting a bit cold. The waiter/chef "NOoooo I'm turning off". In a extremely bad manner, and I said why ?? And then he said in his Italian accent , repeating: why, but why you think Sir, cause it's expensive!!!!! I was I shock. Won't be going back. Pizza wasn't that nice either , was tasteless!
