Pub
Restaurant
The Grasshopper on the Green is a delightful inn situated in an ancient village. This charming pub offers a wide selection of local beers and serves delicious homemade dishes. Its historic ambiance is characterized by low ceilings adorned with vintage jugs, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Conveniently located in Westerham's center, it caters to both locals and visitors, including walkers exploring the area.
Best beef and mushroom pie. Hot and lots of meat, good new potatoes and fresh vegetables.

Lovely meals here after first day LED high bay light installation project. We had two of the famous beef pie and a miinute steak chips. So well cooked and the steak is very tender and pie is so full of layers, we can feel the freshness and the pleasure of good food.
Cecilia Deng — Google review
Everything about this pub was good. From the staff to the food and beyond. Excellent steak & ale pies, huge rib eye steak and cheesecake to die for! What more could you want? Thank you, lunch was great! They even have a small car park at the rear of the pub, but be careful driving through as the entrance is quite narrow.

What a lovely pub in a lovely little village. We went to Chartwell (10mins down the road) and came here for a late lunch. Warm welcome and the staff were a blast. Food was excellent. Can highly recommend the chowder and the steak and ale pie.

Good food and good variety of drinks served here. Staff friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend here. Nice pub garden when the weather is good.

I rarely write reviews however I felt compelled to do so after my visit to the Grasshopper on the Green last weekend. My family and I had the most pleasant of afternoons enjoying Sunday lunch. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly and fully clothed! Thank you to the management and staff who made our afternoon celebration a wonderful memory. Brad Terry

Such a disappointment. The place was cold, very cold. The only heating was an open log fire. Many pubs have wonderful open fires that really work. Not this one, tiny fire with very few logs. Most customers had their overcoats on! The food was very poor and expensive. Generally the venu is tired and grubby. Such a disappointment because it's in a good location. Not worth a visit there are other pubs in Westerham.

Lovely place, great gut busting burger, hot too. Lovely staff and interesting pub. Parking on the green, ringo charge.

Stopped here for food yesterday morning - sitting outside in the first bit of sun I have seen all year! The service was super friendly and most importantly, the fry up was amazing! Thank you. Recommended to a few friends already.

Visiting from USA and stopped in for a "pub style" lunch. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the BLT which came on a large baguette with very thick cut bacon. So delicious! Fries were thick, large, square cut and cooked just right. Beer was cold and tasty. Really enjoyed this place. Staff was friendly too. Parking can be tough, but if you're familiar with the area I think there are some "hidden" off street parking places. Can't go wrong with the Grasshopper!
Tim S — Google review
Arranged to meet a friend here for lunch ... although there is parking behind the pub, the entrance to it is very tight but we both found a spot by the green itself which gave us 2 hours. The initial welcome was warm, and we were shown to a table near an open fire after ordering some drinks. There was a good choice of starters, mains and desserts. We decided to go straight for main. I opted for the homemade steak in ale pie and mash with seasonal vegetables. My friend opted for the fish and chips. The food was of a very good standard and the portions generous. We had freshly made coffee to follow. If you are visiting Westerham, then I highly recommend a visit for lunch or dinner.
Steve Mitchell — Google review
Really nice food. Between £10-20 for main course, and I really liked the chips in my fish & chips meal (bloody big fish too). The staff were very friendly. There was a log fire. There were dogs in the pub, which I always take as an indicator that it's a good place. Nice selection of beer too, albeit I had to partake of a non-alcoholic drink.

The Tudor Rose Tearooms, a charming tea house, is open from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 16:00, on Saturdays from 08:00 to 17:00, and on Sundays from 09:00 to 17:00. Visitors can experience a nostalgic ambiance while savoring their meals. A customer review states that the portions of soup and jacket potatoes are generous and bursting with flavor.
A lovely place right on the green, the breakfast came out quickly and the service was very friendly. The tables were cleared speedily. Will be going back for the cakes soon!

Had a nice afternoon snack here. Friendly staff, very quick and great sweet treats too. Great spot to come for a cup of tea and some cake. Would recommend if you're nearby. Also I suggest the victoria sponge as it's absolutely delicious 🤤

Went in for coffee and cake on a Saturday. Staff are young and whilst the spoke to us politely a few people came in but didn't stay as they were not spoken to by the staff. Only 2 staff visible, presumably more in the kitchen but not enough when busy, they appeared to be working hard. On the positive side coffee and walnut cake was moist and plenty of walnuts in the cake, brownie was also good, I asked for warm with clotted cream, a good sized portion. Good food but probably one member of staff short of being able to be good.
Bill Derham — Google review
Great little tea room. We had a cream tea and chocolate brownie which were delicious - very happy to have come across this delightful place

Have visited before as it's usually very good. So I took my daughter for lunch; I know it gets busy, so it was after 2 pm to avoid the 1pm rush. So disappointing, especially as it's her birthday! It took 20 mins to get a table cleared, but yeah, I understand you'd been busy. I ordered a quiche salad and coleslaw and a mushroom cheese omelette for me. Asked for salad and coleslaw instead of chips. The quiche was sort of OK with coleslaw, but all I got with the Omelette was a tiny bit of salad no coleslaw as they'd run out.. So basically, I paid £9.95 for just an Omelette! : ( and it wasn't that good either. Should have asked for a bit of a refund. But I just won't visit again. Should have gone to the other place on the Green.
Marion McHardy — Google review
Quality of the food was good, however, breakfast was served on cold plates, we couldn’t add to the breakfast ( pay for), ie a tomato, the portion size for each individual item although small was acceptable, apart for the 30 baked beans, a dessert spoon at best. Value for money no but tasty. In my defence, I’m not complaining about quality of food, we looked at the website and the menu clearly says we can purchase extra items.
Amanda James — Google review
Very disappointing cappuccino. Poor quality coffee beans. It was like drinking hot milk. Even when we complained and an extra shot was added it was still tasteless. We walked away and left the drinks, which was a complete waste of money. We should have been offered replacement coffees from the start. Unfortunately, we ended up at Costa, which was not the independent coffee shop experience we were hoping for.

Our go-to for cream teas in the Sevenoaks area. Lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches. Our daughters love the milkshakes. Have been coming here for years. Thank you!

Very nice. Not busy on a Wednesday lunch time. Good selection of cakes, nice coffee
Dave Gearing — Google review
We came for Saturday lunch and enjoyed it. The soup and jacket portions were very large, and everything we ordered had great flavour. We were also envious of the next table’s high tea so worth checking it out! There are only about 25-30 seats so may want to prebook for peak times. They have one toilet which is adequate. There are a few parking spots immediately outside or the main car park a few minute walk away.
Becky T — Google review
Traditional tea room with friendly atmosphere. The afternoon teas coming out looked delicious with delicate sandwiches and macarons. Other customers seemed really happy with their ham, egg and chips.
Emma Nugent — Google review
Too often I have been here and found out after paying they don't have brown sugar, it is quite different to white of which they have tons everywhere. Service is very slow, not the waitress fault just lack of staff and them working as fast as they can, more staff needed and better updating of low stocks. I find the prices higher than most for the okay food they offer. Has taken me many visits to write this, I tend to give places lots of opportunities to rectify things but they haven't.

Beautiful weather made this lovely tearoom really busy and the 2 lovely ladies running it were pushed to their limits. Saying that though, they served extremely politely with a very friendly manner. Apologising for the wait and dealing efficiently with orders. The food was excellent. Piping hot and very tasty. Bacon, brie &cranberry baguette and ham,egg & chips both thoroughly recommended. We felt really valued as customers and can't wait to go back to try their delicious selection of home-made cakes.

Restaurant
The Old Bank in Westerham is a charming establishment that opened in November 2019. Owned by Kariss and Greg, it serves a rotating selection of six cask ales and an equal number of ciders, all sourced from local breweries and cider makers in Kent. The pub displays its drink options on a large board next to the bar and keeps them cool in a room behind it. In addition to craft beverages, The Old Bank offers exquisite food that is beautifully presented.
We went for the first time and had the five course tasting lunch with wine flight. It was outstanding. Food was delicious and interesting. Wine was excellent - especially the champagne. Very friendly service and welcoming vibe. Toilets were pristine. It might seem expensive but for a special meal it is worth it.

Fantastic lunch, food was delicious and service very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the restaurant is cosy. I would highly recommend but book well in advance!

This restaurant is settled in the heart of Westerham Town. I came for an evening meal, and the menu choices were tasting menus, either 5 or 8 courses. We decided on the 5 course. The food was fresh and original. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted equality delicious. This restaurant definitely serves a Michelin star 🌟 The restaurant was elegant and crisp looking. All the staff were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. This was a fine dining experience with class and reasonably priced. I'd highly recommend if you like the fine dining experience and I'd definitely return when back in the area.

Tasty food and good service. The restaurant is fairly small, so it's best to make a reservation.

Fantastic 3 course lunch here today. The food was out of this world - on a par with any Michelin starred restaurants I've been to in Central London. Beautifully presented plates and service professional but warm and friendly.

A first class fine dining experience. The front of house team are an absolute asset to the restaurant and the chef is incredibly talented. They were able to accommodate our pescatarian diet for the 8 course tasting menu with ease. A gem in the area. We will be back!

We had the 5 course tasting menu and the starters were outstanding. The food is cooked to perfection and makes for a very light delicious lunch. The wine list is excellent and outstanding value.

What a lovely treat to visit the Old Bank on my birthday. They make you feel very special. The food was beautifully presented. We went for the tasting menu and wine pairing. All the food and matching wines were delicious and the price was very reasonable. We would love to visit again. The chocolate souffle for dessert was an amazing ending to a beautiful dinner.

I honestly couldn't fault it, it was such a lovely evening and food surpassed any expectations I had. Also loved the British wines on the menu. Most certainly will be back and highly recommend. I even got a surprise birthday plate!
Heather Chatfield — Google review
This is a first for me, a 5-star review as I always feel places can do better but having had a splendid meal there on July 15th 2021 I had to abandon my usual practices. Service was top notch being attentive without being pompous or overbearing/pushy. Food was wonderful and, fortunately, for me, my partner and a friend who we dined with made great company. Is there an else to say? Well, I'll have to try having lunch there and seeing if they do just as well then as they do in the evening. Oh dear, I've forgotten to have lunch here in the year since my first review but have now been back and had Sunday lunch. Yes, it's slightly different from a weekday as it a roast but, a great British institution is elevated to mouthwatering heights. Things are as good as ever with fabulous food, even though the menu is different A major PS to add to my review. My partner has started growing organic vegetables on a smallholding close to here and needed to deal with a glut of early season produce. A phone call and an agreement to look at the produce. Chef was delighted with it and has bought more subsequently. Things culminated in another call and they wanted beetroot which we were happy to supply as well as the usual courgettes with flowers. Imagine the surprise when they told my partner they were going to make her produce a feature in one of their menu items. A great surprise and it's given us another reason to go back and sample the excellent food. January 2023 My partner's birthday gave us another reason to visit. If anything the food is even better. The menus have experienced a seasonal makeover and consists of an a la carte section an 8 course tasting menu and an 8 course vegetarian tasting menu. We chose from the a la carte menu and it was, as I've already stated, excellent. My partner has some food preferences for health and religious reasons but everything is catered for and altered to ensure her wishes are respected.

We had a delightful dining experience at Tulsi Restaurant and Bar to celebrate a family birthday. The entire group enjoyed their meal, which was served with exceptional hospitality. The service provided was outstanding, and we were very pleased with both the delicious food and attentive staff. I highly recommend Tulsi for anyone who appreciates curry dishes served in a traditional manner. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit to this fantastic Indian restaurant!
A very nice restaurant with lovely food. I couldn't give a mark for atmosphere as it was a lunchtime meal with only myself and my friend there.
ewaf88 — Google review
I had a very disappointing take away here. Terrible food. Bland and watery, the only spice reminded me of a supermarket curry powder. Overpriced - at over £13 for a poor curry and flavourless rice, and another £6.95 for what tasted like a watered-down lager, (served at least an inch below the pint mark on the glass) while I waited. Avoid.
Chris Connaughton Intext Performance — Google review
We booked a table via opentable, which apparently wasn’t received by the restaurant, despite confirming the day before. This was for a special occasion, but we were made to feel very unwelcome. The staff member at the door was very rude and abrupt. Will not return.
Jani Combrink — Google review
Have had 4 takeaways from Tulsi since July 2023. The first one was bland, we thought maybe it was a mishap and as it’s the only Indian Restaurant in Westerham, we tried again. It was no better. A neighbour said that was very unusual and they had enjoyed their meals in Tulsi, so we tried again. The third takeaway was better and we risked a fourth tonight. It was early evening on a Friday and the restaurant was almost empty. We were told to collect the food at 6pm, which we did. The food was luke warm, the Tikka Masala was bland, the mushroom rice was so unpleasant, I actually had to spit it out and the salad had a synthetic flavour. I left nearly all my food. The tandoori chicken starter was very salty and the rest of the takeaway meal was bland, even the minty sauce given with the popadoms was insipid. We’ve never eaten at the restaurant, only had takeaways but we will not darken their doorways again.

We had a lovely meal at Tulsi to celebrate a family birthday. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was excellent. If you are enjoy a curry served with traditional hospitality we can highly recommend Tulsi and we look forward to our next visit.

Very pleased with both the service and the delicious food. I would highly recommend. Service couldn’t have been better. Thank you. We were a group of 5.

We went around 15 people on Saturday night. Very ordinary environment. Food quality was very poor, like taste less. Some of them are spice hasn't properly mixed with the curry. Literally raw spice smell. Food is not worth with the price. Service is okay. Not only that, parking is hard luck.
Rezaur Rahman — Google review
Very disappointed with the food and lack of customer care. Having tried this restaurant previously we experienced a below average meal hoping the next visit would be better. Sadly even worse with main dishes seeming to be the biggest problem arriving at the table looking as if they had been prepared days previously, meat dry and hard to chew rice overcooked. Overall a bland taste lacking the great flavours expected from a good Indian restaurant. Sadly we will not be returning. Not expecting the owner to reply to this review as I believe they are uninterested.
Chris A — Google review
Horendous experience. Miserable service with food that is just about edible. Very sad because Indian food should be a delight. Come on Tulsi get you staff smiling and sent your chef to a good restaurant to show how it should be done.
A C — Google review
Lovely mixed grill couldn't falt it. And nice that it included a Tiger Prawn. Needs to be fresh to get the 5th star. Sag Paneer was awful though. It was literally dry Spinach with lumps of paneer in it. No seasoning or other ingredients or anything. Very dry. Next time I might ask for some cream and garam massala on the side and mix it up myself ha! Service average for an Indian restaurant which is 3 stars. Friendly chaps. Was nice to be there. Very much improved since the last time we went some years ago which is nice to see.

Not very nice at all, chicken had a strange texture, sauce tasted bland and the onion bhajis were cold in the middle. I don’t like to write a negative review, but this was awful

A fantastic local Indian. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and grateful for your custom. Great to go as a family and share lots of dishes. I always have the prawn puri without fail! (Also Cobra on draught 🍺) Unfortunately can be a little lacking in atmosphere on quieter nights but that means the kitchen can focus on your food 😁

Deli
Deli Di Luca is a charming coffee establishment located in the lovely town of Westerham. It offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and general amenities. This coffee shop was discovered by chance after visiting a local bike shop nearby. The coffee served here is of good quality, complemented by delicious cake options. While it may not be extraordinary or high-end, Deli Di Luca provides a pleasant ambiance for customers to enjoy their toast with eggs.

Rude reaction to us waiting, and looking in whilst with our dogs, two small Yorkshire Terriers. No sign on the door to say no dogs. We were looked at and given the sign of a cross. Thank you very much for the lovely welcome. There are more polite ways to let people know.

Good place... Nothing out of the ordinary or exquisite or high end. Just a coffee shop that offers toast with eggs. Great location... Love watching the cars go by but wasn't super comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Otherwise a good spot in that village

I'm surprised to see this has quite as good ratings as it does. Firstly, there's no shown prices for the items and you pay afterwards. We ordered a slice of cake and a single cup of tea, the spoon and fork didn't look at all clean, the saucer was unwashed with dried tea stains and chipped, and the teapot also had dried tea stains and a crack under on the lip. The only utensil that appeared to be clean was the cup. The service was okay, but not great. This totalled a rather unreasonably hefty £6. It's a great shame, this cafe is in a lovely area and I would have expected better. We won't be returning.

Still finding my way around local coffee places. Westerham is a lovely town with good shops, restaurants and general facilities. I can now add good coffee. Fabulous place we found after popping into my partners local bike shop. Coffee good as was the cake I had with it. I'll be back for more. "Back for more" as the title of one of my favourite old school grooves goes. Fortunately I was not only pleased but exceptionally had to return. Staff were lovely and coffee and service great. I'll have to upgrade my marking!!!! Finding a local spot you can go to time and again while knowing you'll get great service, food and drink is fantastic especially in a locality where facilities aren't great. Don't believe me come and try for yourself. Upgrade 2023 I've already expressed how very good its been to find this lovely place. Now I can tell you I'm a regular as despite infrequent visits the staff recognise myself and partner and we certainly don't have to order coffee as our preferred beverages are always swiftly prepared. We do have to take time over pastries and cakes but they are almost as good as the coffee. Do go here if you're in/near Westerham you won't regret it.
