Phra Nang Beach, also known as Phra Nang Cave Beach, is a breathtaking sandy beach framed by towering limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters dotted with small islands. It is renowned for its natural beauty and was ranked as one of the world's most beautiful beaches and the 5th most beautiful beach in Asia by TripAdvisor in 2013. The beach features an intriguing cave that holds cultural significance due to a local legend about a love story passed down through generations.
Stunning beach with great crystal clear waters. ✔️The beach is accessible either through Riley East or West beach. From Riley West, walk through the main street or other streets, located almost opposite where the long-tail boats land. From there there are signs towards Phra Nang Beach. ✔️The beach tends to be crowded on the one end where the cave is but if you walk past the crowds towards the opposite side, then there will be more space and less crowding. ✔️The beach does not have shops or restaurants (unless you live in one of the hotels) so plan ahead and get your water / drinks and food if you plan to stay for extended period during the day

Quieter of the two Railay Beaches, there is no boat traffic here and walking from most of the residential spots takes a little longer. It's beautiful here all day. Be advised that you can easily walk all the way around the beach during low tide, but at high tide it's pretty challenging to walk back and you'll definitely get quite wet, so plan accordingly! We highly recommend getting a massage on the beach too:)
Bret Sikkink — Google review
In my opinion the nicest beach with the most spectacular sunsets. Not too many boats which was nice and a nice beach to swim or sunbathe. Relaxed environment accessed via a path which is only partially lit at night so be careful when returning after sunset. Came several times during our trip and thoroughly enjoyed this beach.
Andrew “Andy” Davis — Google review
The second best beach of Railay. You have to wait in the afternoon for the low tide to be able to walk it all along. You'll even be able to go walking inside a big rock island. Scenery is amazingly beautiful, white sand and water you can swim in. A great escape.
florent magnoac — Google review
This is of the best natural heritage spots from the places I have been till know from around the world. Like an extroverted cave landscape, with huge stalactites suspended in a magnificent equilibrium since millions of years of geological history. Stunning views along the beach with this beautiful perspective accompanied by the spectacular turquoise colour of the sea
Flavius — Google review
One of, in my opinion, the most beautiful beaches I've ever been. There's a path that goes from Railay Beach all the way to Phra Nang Beach. The entrance is near the cave that's also located on site on your left. One small cave for prayers and if you walk through the water, there's a bigger cave which is also amazing to see. Walk to the right of the entrance and you'll see a very big rock in the sea where you can just walk to. However look out for sharp rocks that might cut you. Walk further and you will be able to visit another cave, which requires some climbing. That one is located behind the beach. Really amazing beach and looking forward to going there again someday!

One of the most beautiful beaches & sunsets I've seen so far can highly recommend to visit this place (although you will not be alone for sure). A shared longtail boat (100 Baht per person daytime, 150 Baht after Sunset - buy tickets directly at the beach) will bring you from Ao Nang to Railay Beach West., From there you walk 15 min to Railay Beach East and another 15 min to Ao Phra Nang. Same route to return home. Easy walk for Kids. We saw a lot of jellyfish at the beach and didn't go into the water. 15 min after sunset you can see thousands of flying foxes flying out of their caves and spreading across the island.

We were staying on the West Beach in Railey and walked through Princess Caves to come to this beach. It was like we landed on a different planet. We got here just as the sun was setting and the whole beach was bathed in orange light. 'Happy Island' that floats in the ocean a little further from the beach is a wonderful spot and we could swim to this island during low tide. What a magical place!
Naina Mehendale — Google review
Visited during off-season as a part of 4 island tour via a speedboat being off-season there were alot less tourist so one could see the gorgeous views of the surrounding ocean and islands the beach itself had clear blue water and clean white sand. Would highly recommend to give this place a visit
Krupesh Vaja — Google review
Phra Nang Beach is a location which is a 15 mins walk away from the Railay Beach which you will probably land at from a longtail boat service from Ao Nang. Railay have a couple of nice beaches but most people will walk directly towards Phra Nang which is one of the best place at Railay. The place is usually crowded with people swimming, enjoying the nice beach, suntanning and kayaking too. For non sea activities, climbing enthusiasts will be delighted to know that it is actually a very nice place for natural rock climbing as well. The place is very nice for both climbing and enjoying the beach. Definitely 5* and would recommend Railay as a must visit place when you visit Krabi.
Tong Peng Tan — Google review
Most beautiful sunset ❤️ I ever saw is from here. Visited during the long boat tour to 7 islands. After reaching the island you need to walk for 10-15 minutes to reach sunset point but it was totally worth 👌 it. Clean beach ⛱️ with few swimmers. Few cafe on the beachside. There are several restaurants on the beach side till the island entry point. There are some caves on this beach where entry is mostly restricted as there are rumours that cavemen still stay in them. Lifetime experience ✨️ 💕 😌 I had on this beach, don't miss it if you are in Krabi 🙂.
Diptanshu Jaiswal — Google review
Phra Nang Beach in Krabi, Thailand, is an absolute slice of paradise. The crystal-clear turquoise waters kissing the powdery white sand create a breathtaking sight. The majestic limestone cliffs standing guard over the beach add an otherworldly charm to the scenery. It's a beach lover's dream, offering not just stunning views but also a chance to explore caves and enjoy various water activities. The beauty of this place truly captivates, making it an unforgettable place.
Erivan — Google review
In my opinion it’s the best beach in Railay area. Beautiful scenery with cliffs hanging over the water, not many boats ( it was only place in Railay when I could relax without roar of the boats in the background). And the sunset is stunning here.
Rudy J — Google review
Favourite easy access beach I’ve visited so far from Ao nang and in Railay. Beautiful sunsets and soft white sand. Not many boats if at all, and it does get crowded in the day but still lots of space (plus climbers behind for extra entertainment). Would recommend visiting in the morning to experience crystal clear waters and swim with fishes - from the afternoon water becomes more cloudy with more people.
Cecilia Tsang — Google review
This place is jaw-dropping. I’m so happy we made up our mind to walk here from the crowded and noisy Railay. The walking path itself is a masterpiece, the view of the cave is just crazy, I was sooooo impressed! The beach feels secluded, we arrived right before the sunset and it was not crowded. It’s a must visit!
Ann Hordiienko — Google review
The long tail boats aren't allowed to stop here anymore so you have to walk from Reilly West. Maybe 15 to 20 minutes but as you pass below the overhanging cliffs with the giant stalactites its sensational. Make no mistake, this is an epic location!
David Mellor — Google review
There is no public transportation to the beach. You walk for around 15/20 min to reach here. On the way there you come across rock climbers, monkeys and caves. No supermarkets or cafes around, so make sure to bring your own food and drink. The beach is sandy and nice to swim. The sunset is amazing. No sunbeds or umbrellas available. Definitely much better to swim here than in Railay Beach.

Tonsai Beach is a haven for climbers, with numerous schools catering to beginners and offering a quick progression to higher levels. The area's limestone cliffs provide an ideal backdrop for rappelling adventures. This small paradise is popular among backpackers, featuring hippie bars, simple bungalows, and one beachfront resort. Compared to neighboring beaches like Railay and Ao Nang, Tonsai offers a quieter escape from the crowds.
We walked from West Railey to this hidden beach during low tide, we took the jungle trek on the way there and walked backed around the rocks. It was tricky but doable. A lovely and quiet beach but the sand is not as nice.
Nok Moody — Google review
We were here 16 years ago and stayed for 2 weeks and it was like paradise. it seems like all the nice huts from back them are gone or totally dumps. And there is a big concrete wall around the whole front of the whole part of the beach - who puts such a wall in such a beautiful location. There are two "nice" hotels right at the front and the rest is well...not nice. Such a pity. The restaurant right at the beach is pretty horrible but if you walk up the concrete road from the main pier you come to legacy bar with good prices and food.
R CrawDi — Google review
You can walk from Railay West at low tide around the rocks or there is a white rope to help climb up the black rocks to walk through the forest. You may need to get your feet wet a bit depending on the tide. Check out the restaurants/cafes/massages behind resort. Entrance is through the far side of the beach to access the businesses.

Playa encantadora, muy tranquila pero preciosa, con agua cristalina, y maravillosas vistas, puedes ver a los monos Langur oscuro dando una vuelta por la playa, y puedes ver a las personas escalando esas grandes montañas, la verdad es que impresiona, si caminas entre las rocas del final 15 minutos llegaras a la playa de railay (Translated by Google) Charming beach, very quiet but beautiful, with crystal clear water, and wonderful views, you can see the dark Langur monkeys walking around the beach, and you can see people climbing those big mountains, the truth is that it is impressive, if you walk between the rocks at the end 15 minutes you will arrive at Railay beach
Laura Baeta Llano — Google review
This is a very quiet beach, with little shade. It's not ideal for swimming, when the tide is low you can see the entire area is full of rocks. There is a 10 min path on the end that takes you to railay though, where you can swim. When the tide is low, you can also walk over the rocks to railay, but they looked very sharp
Florian Eswein — Google review
Beautiful isolated beach, perfect for rock climbing and a short (but fun!!) walk from Railey through the rocks and small jungle. It is not as crowded as it’s Railey neighbor, and TONSAI Resort is a great option to stay at. Best kept secret of Krabi, no less
Yuliya Subotniaya — Google review
I walked from railay beach to here. Walking through the forest, some is steep but doable. Peaceful and not so many tourists here in tonsai beach. There’s the boat back to aonang beach but not as much as in railay. Also can walk back along the rock and beach to railay in the evening
peapeach — Google review
As always, depends what you’re looking for. My partner and I wanted to avoid crowds for the most part, and have a bit of quiet, while still have access to some amenities. As this was a semi backpack type trip, we ended up finding a spot in this area for very cheap. After setting up, over our two weeks this has been our favourite beach. We love waking up, having breakfast and watching the rock climbers / boulderers do their thing. In the evening, there’s been ethereal music playing, a small fire show tonight, and generally chill vibes. We will be back.
Alan Irvine — Google review
Go to Railay beach for a day, and then the following day come here. We loved tonsai beach so much more. Big palm trees, watching people rock climb, gorgeous view and quiet. It has a bit more of a hippy vibe here. The sand is a bit grainier than railay but that makes the water clearer and the sand doesn’t get into everything. There is a road that has a few restaurants and cheaper than railay also. Mamas chicken is a good shout for a chicken burger or BBQ chicken. It costs 100 bart per person to get here, the long tail will drop people off at railay first. Down the other end is where you will get the long tail back to ao nang, that side of the beach is rocky. Highly highly recommended!!!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO 😉 I personally have mixed feelings about this place. In the pictures it looks amazing but when I arrived there I was not impressed. There is a nice resort that you can see from the sea but apparently the food there is horrible, I am just mentioning it because I found it funny when I read about it. We were planning to stay a week here but after a hour we were already back to Ao Nang beach. Tonsai Beach can be reached only by boat. If you have big luggage DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did it and I felt very stupid. We walked around the area while we were looking for our resort and we saw some monkeys and a lizard. Apart from this we were not impressed. I would say this: if you are in your 20s I think you will enjoy here. We saw some cheap places to stay and good reviews about local restaurants. If you are in your 30s make a proper research before deciding to visit it (even for a hour). If you are in your 40s go somewhere else 😉

Tonsai beach is wonderful place to visit but just not good for swimming. Behind the beach there is a hippi village with bungalows and restaurants, you will feel being at another world. You can see Gibon monkeys high on the trees if you look for them around. Good place for mountain climbing as well. The beach is quiet, not so many turist are coming because there are rocks in the sea and not so comfortable to swim. Around 3 pm the sea is moving back and the rocks are all around. it is reacheble from Ao nang beach by collective long tale boat going all day, the price is 100 baht per person one way. On the way back maybe will be more difficult, you will have to wait while people gather, at least 6 needed or to pay total ride fee 600 for less then 6 people. After 6 pm total price is 800.

Quite isolated and boats don't really come here but to the next beach, Railay, which means that you need to cross both ways when the tide is not high and the path is quite sharp. Almost anything is on this beach and you can't swim because there is no water. I don't recommend it unless you come for the climbing.
Antonio Vidal Carrasco — Google review
Tonsai Beach is a popular beach for Rock Climbers. Extremely rustic and accommodation is mostly bungalows amidst the jungle other than the 2 resorts by the beach. The village is found behind the concrete wall behind the beach so hidden from sight from the beach. Many resorts, F&B and bars in the village are not operational. Some are very dilapidated. A place to be if you want a quiet place without much to do. Electricity is only available at night for most accommodation except for the 2 resorts by the beach. When here, do a little hike to eat at Mama’s Chicken, tucked in a village with some walking through dirt track. Homey food cooked with love. Also a note, getting from Railey to Tonsai by longtail boat requires 4 pax as each trip, the boat man needs to collect 200b. Not a whole lot if you don’t want to walk the jungle track or wade through the waters during low tide. Also if u plan to wade through the water, wet shoes might be helpful as it can be rather rocky. 😊 Another side note: everyday at around 5.30pm-7pm the flies and mosquitoes are rampant. So not a good time to have meals at village. Eat dinner after 7pm or bear with the flying creatures. Do have ur insect repellent ready as u r going to be at the base of the forest area.

Phra Nang Cave Beach, also known as Phra Nang Beach, is a breathtaking cove that has been recognized as one of the world's most beautiful beaches. It features a picturesque sandy shoreline adorned with sea caves and towering limestone formations. The beach is famous for its sacred cave, which holds significance in local legends about enduring love. Additionally, it is a popular destination for rock climbing enthusiasts, offering training courses and thrilling experiences.
One of my bucket list to be here. You need to come by the boat only. And here we come by our yacht. So we don't need to pay for expensive food and dri K at the resort 😬 Still impressed with the beauty of sunset time here.

Simply amazing! Just a short walk from Railay beach which is crowded and full with boats, this beach feels like paradise! The water was very clear, the rocks are so beautiful. There is also a funny fertility cave. You can easily relax there all day, less shade though, bring sun screen and food/ drinks. Totally recommended!

Hands down, One of the best beaches I have ever experienced. Photos doesnt do justice. Have to experience it for real. About 15-20 mins walk from Sand Sea Resort, but mostly are shaded areas If you are sun or photo-sensitive (especially for kids), can swim to the area nearby the cliff/cave to avoid being fried up. Otherwise if you enjoy the sun, can always swim at the open area: Pristine, crystal clear waters and finely granulated sands which are friendly to your feet. Got schools of fish too, small and large. Ideal for snorkelling. Please do not miss this beach if you are ever in Railay. Wonderful experience.

What a beautiful cave and beach it is. You will definitely love it, one of the beautiful parts of your 4 Island tour of karabi. Very sceneric place for videos and photos. Here you will get 40-45 minutes to visit the place but here we can spend the complete day with the beauty of nature. Must place to visit!!!!!!!!

We rented two kayaks at Railay beach and kayaked over here. It was an incredible experience, crystal clear waters and the massive rock formations towering over the surface of the sea. We also kayaked through a couple of caves and ended up at the beach. This is one of the most spectacular spots in Thailand and I highly recommend visiting if you have time.

Safe to swim with kids! Gorgeous, calm, and so safe to take your little ones to. Gets quite crowded during the holidays, but not overcrowded. Great vibe, Super relaxing. Must visit with a group!

Spectacular and beautiful beach, cave and rocky Island. It is a very busy place, so I recommend to go during the morning. Be careful if you go into the water because many sharp rocks. From there, take the walking trail that bring you on the others side.. you won’t regret it
Bleuet T — Google review
This beach was the best one in the area. I recommend going there and spend the whole day. The reason for that is that the water goes down during the day until late afternoon. You will see how the beach changes through the day and it’s beautiful. The way to the beach is quite easy and there is a lot of infrastructure for tourists, including bathrooms, kayaking, restaurants and a kiosk. You will be able to walk to the beach in front after 15:00 ~ 16:00 pm.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I love how this beach is secluded and more difficult to get to, which prevents crowds. The limestone cliffs surrounding this beach make it a truly surreal and amazing experience. Highly recommend!
Blake Cronyn — Google review
Awesome beach. Beautiful fine sand and lovely water. Sheltered in a bay so no big waves really to be concerned about and a great place to either sunbathe or swim. Sunsets are beautiful. Well worth the visit.

Beautiful. A must see if in the region. We took a kayak for 200THB per hour, and drifted round the mountains through to the beach from Railay. We'll worth visiting.
The Travelling Owl — Google review
I've been staying on Railay for many years and this is always my favourite beach. The cliffs at each end are stunning as well as the clear blue waters. It's great here because there are no longer boats allowed in the area so it's a quiet tranquil beach. Unfortunately there are no food and beverage establishments on this beach so best bring your own drink and snacks. Of the rite aid beaches this one is the best during low tide because the water is still deep enough to swim near the beach.
Joey B — Google review
If you bring your own drinks and food, I highly recommend this beach over the other two options. It offers a more serene and stunning environment, with fewer crowds. Depending on the time of day, you can enjoy walking or swimming to the nearby little island. Additionally, there are charming caves to explore, adding to the overall adventure. However, it is important to exercise caution with the monkeys. When food is left unattended, they can become quite bold and aggressive. It's best to keep a distance and not engage with them as they prioritize their quest for food.
Mo Jongenburger — Google review
The most beautiful beach I have ever been on. Water was warm. Fish were nibbling me. A swimming crab came and sat on my arm for a rest. I could sit there for hours just looking at the sea stacks and cliffs
Neale Simpkins — Google review
Highly recommended when you are at Railey. Do not miss out on this beach when you are at Railey. Beautiful and clean beach even though there are quite a lot of people. If you want a quieter beach spot to rest, you have to brave the wave to walk to another side of the beach. Not too hard to walk over, but when the waves are strong it will be a little difficult. Best spot to watch sunset as well.
Jennie Chan — Google review
Probably the most beautiful beach I have had the pleasure of walking on. The water is warm and clear and calm. Unlike other beaches in the area it is swimmable even at low tide It's almost deserted before 10:00 and after 18:00. No boats!
Bill Quarre — Google review
Beautiful beach but sometimes a little bit crowded! Fantastic nature, climbing rocks and clear water 😍
Chris Z — Google review
It was one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to. We were on our Four Island trip and our ultimate destination was Phra Nang beach. The Cave beach is surrounded by hills in a remote island on Gulf of Thailand. The place was secluded, quaint and peaceful. We also watched the sunset from there. The experience was marvelous.
Piuli Basu Roy Chowdhury — Google review
Less than 10 minutes away from Railay Beach via a cute path, where, if lucky, you might spot monkeys climbing trees and walls. The landscape is breathtaking, featuring a long sandy beach. I recommend walking and settling towards the middle or end for a more serene atmosphere with fewer people around. There are plenty of spots to capture, and while you're there, you can also explore the Princess Cave at the entrance, although in my opinion it might not be particularly special.
Alain Bart — Google review
Came here twice. Very clear water & good for snorkeling. You can see fish & corals if you choose the right spots. Can walk to the cliff in the sea on low tide and see a lot of corals.
Aris Pull — Google review
Phra Nang Beach is no more than 800 meters long. The beach is beautifully situated. At high tide it becomes quite narrow, especially in the middle part. The sand on the beach is very fine. Conditions for swimming are very good (snorkeling is good). "Long boats" are parked mainly in the middle part of the beach. In high season the beach is very crowded. Paid showers and toilets are available at the entrance to the beach, close to the Princess Cave. In my opinion, Phra Nang Beach is a nice beach, worth visiting. Tourists who have not seen other beaches in Thailand will be delighted with it.

Located on the eastern side of the peninsula, East Railay Bay Beach is a picturesque spot with shallow waters that recede hundreds of meters during low tide. Although less suitable for swimming, it offers a unique experience with its mangrove type shoreline. Accessible only by boat, this beach is an adventurer's paradise known for its renowned rock climbing spots on limestone cliffs.
This pin on Google map is where the longtail boats that doesn’t stop at the pier stop to drop off passengers. It is a very short stretch of beach as East Railay is mangrove. As you walk Northwards towards the shops and cafes along this coast, you will find mangrove trees growing. Lovely change from the white sandy beach though not ideal for swimming, I do welcome the added layer of options on top of white sandy beaches.

One of the most secluded and peaceful places in Krabi! It’s only accessible by ferry or long tail boats! There are no taxis or tuk-tuks here so make sure you have comfortable shoes! There are bars, restaurants and different types of tour vendors all over the place so you don’t need to book anything in advance!

East Railay Beach is not just a beach, but an adventurer’s paradise! While it may not have the typical sandy stretches of its western counterpart, what it lacks in sandy shores, it more than makes up for with its renowned rock climbing spots. The limestone cliffs here offer a unique challenge for both novice and seasoned climbers, with local guides always ready to provide lessons or assistance. The view from the top? Simply unparalleled — a panoramic vista of the Andaman Sea and beyond. After a day of climbing, the beachfront bars and eateries are the perfect spots to refuel and relax. A must-visit for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike!

You can say this is a unique place near Krabi, But only 15 minutes boat trip, away from the Ao Nang port. There is three beaches on three side of this area. Which you can walk between them. There are many bars and clubs and restaurants and hotels are resorts in the middle side Railay bay Beach. Rock climbing is one of the famous excursions of this

Fine place to dock. The scenery is also pretty good here. The longboats dock here and wait ferry passengers outside of the beach. It’s also shaded pretty well here and nice to walk around.

May be I visited it when the water was so deep in and it looked like abandoned place. Only some people getting on and off the boats and a path between the two main beaches. Nothing impressive, not sure why they keep it in this bad condition, it could be a good beach-relaxing point too.

Beautiful beaches, a little crowded in peak times, but you can still find a spot to swim and bathe crystal clear emerald water. Great little coffee shop on the opposite side where the boats come in. Rock climbing is available here. Don't leave your belongings around when there's monkeys about tip for the novice traveler

Railay is paradise on earth but can someone for god's sake clean it up. Doesn't take much. Many of the places on East Railay and the pathways that connect it are neglected and the smell is pretty bad. This began before Covid. Just takes a bit of community spirit and if I lived here I'd do it for free (please note, those of you who stay here long term). Been coming here since 1993 and I've seen it slowly become a scar on what was once pristine nature, it breaks my heart.

Not too amazing compared to the destination where you are likely going to walk. But it's a nice path along the sea. It's an area where it seems like there's just a very low tide constantly, so you can step off the sidewalk and get into the sand. Enjoying the view is the main activity here, but I also saw some places along the way where people were rock climbing.

The east side of Railay isn't what you go to Railay for but it's great. Like the west-side... beautiful, picturesque and topographically striking. There's more litter on this side than the west side though which is sad to see.

Railay Beach is a fictitious island that can only be reached by boat. Long tail boat tickets are available in Ao Nang, just in front of the beach, where all boats depart. It cost 200 baths to return home. There are several beautiful beaches and seaside on this island. The only drawback is that all tourist information indicates that you can go up to a view point for a nice view of the island, but you must go there. Clubbing necessitates proper preparation. Climbing there is even dangerous. At this location, you can also easily meet monkey families.

Nestled in the Krabi National Marine Park, this secluded haven boasts pristine forest surroundings and overlooks three beautiful beaches. The spacious villas, known as pavilions, are set amidst immaculate lawns, coconut groves, and lush jungle inhabited by playful squirrels and monkeys.
Hospitality, quality, amenities, all was perfect. Once you get here, nothing is worried about. All staff is friendly and speak English fluently. If you get tired to work, cart should be ready to go anywhere you want. Swimming beach, sit and relax at restaurant, bar and lounge. You do what you want to do. There are cute monkeys, unique birds and fishes to enjoy watching. Wish to stay at least couple days to satisfy this hotel

By far one of the best hotel experiences we ever had! The staff is wonderful, the gardens are amazingly well kept, the wildlife is amazing, the rooms are magical, the boutique is very well curated, the food rocks! You can really feel the love to detail everywhere!! Also, we immensely appreciated the generosity of the hotel: there is always complimentary drinking water, there are always enough towels, you don't have to pay extra to borrow a kayak. Once you check in, it is almost like paradise! I hope we'll be able to come back one day!

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Rayavadee Hotel, and while the property itself is beautiful, I am disappointed with the level of service and attention to guest safety that I experienced during my stay. One particular incident that left me quite dissatisfied occurred when I was stung by a jellyfish today. What disappointed me the most was that the hotel staff did not provide any warning about the potential dangers of entering the sea if it rained on the same day. It turns out that when it rains, jellyfish tend to flow towards the shore with the waves. Had I been informed about this, I would have been more cautious. However, when I ran out of the sea after being stung, the staff seemed indifferent. The person in charge had her back turned to us and did not offer any assistance until I mentioned multiple times that I needed to see a doctor. In my opinion, when a guest is running and screaming out of the sea in distress, the staff should immediately inquire about their well-being and offer prompt assistance. Eventually, they took me to the nurse, who provided me with gentle, well-attended care. I appreciated her calm demeanor and professionalism. It's evident that the importance of safety is prioritized in such situations. However, I believe that the hotel should have warned me about the potential risks before I entered the sea. Later, when the staff escorted us to our room, I informed them that we had a spa reservation for the day and wanted to cancel it due to my condition. I expected them to take care of this matter promptly. However, to my dismay, I was simply told to call the spa and update them myself. Considering the pain I was in, I found this response to be quite unsatisfactory. Overall, my experience at Rayavadee Hotel was marred by the lack of attention to guest safety and inadequate service. While the nurse's care was commendable, the hotel should have provided clear warnings about potential dangers and should have been more proactive in assisting guests during emergencies. Additionally, the staff's response to my request to cancel the spa reservation was disappointing, given the circumstances. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my personal experience.

Absolute heaven. An amazing hotel in a truly unique location. This property needs to be experienced. Giant limestone cliffs wrap the dense tropical jungle which is fringed with the most exquisite beaches you could imagine. It’s the stuff of dreams.

Our second time here made me impressed again . The resort is well maintenance located in the natural forest close to two beautiful beach . The services are very good. Breakfast has variety of healthy choices and delicious. Spa is great too. We were enjoy the large swimming pool with the splendid view. Love the place in every aspect.

Highlight of our honeymoon! Absolutely incredible setting. You feel like you're living in the jungle. All staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast was amazing. It didn't feel busy by the pool. Pick up was very smooth. I'm not a fan of monkeys so was a bit worried about this but at the hotel it was just the dusky leaf monkeys which were adorable and very peaceful. Highly recommend!!

The most perfect place for a lot of years of travelling. Huge green territory with monkeys, squirrels, monitor lizards, birds, butterflies, fish, botanical routes for flora lovers. Large two-store bungalows (that's standard choice) surrounded with jungle and rocks. Very clean, very natural, fantastic client service with good English. For example, we were off with diapers, and they brought a pack from mainland. A lot of real attention like ice-cream, fruits, peanuts, water - when other hotels charge you for everything, here they just give these small things. Breakfast with tremendous a la carte choice is another guilty pleasure here. Very nice spa and a lot of activities. And all these enjoyments are added to three white beaches, one for sunrise, two for sunset, and of them perfect clean. Ideal place for kids, families, honeymooners

Excellent resort with the best service. Gorgeous location in between the cliffs and the beaches. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast outstanding. Dinner at Grotto was really good, Thai restaurant was ok but not outstanding. Pavilions are well equipped with very comfortable furniture; the enormous size of the bed is something I had never seen before. Swimming pool is large and has great view. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We did half day snorkelling tour and cooking class; both were absolutely great. Spa was nice with excellent choice of treatments.

We stayed Rayavadee as I wanted to make this holiday special, which was our first-ever family travel since covid-19 started. The stay turned out to be more than special. Beautiful beaches, wild nature and delicious dinings were all perfect. The best part, however, was professional yet friendly service of all staff - with special thanks to extremely helpful khun Beam and khun Keiko. My family all loved the experience, and the resort is kid-friendly too. Other Google reviews of finding mosquitos in a room is true, but I took it as part of an unique experience. Overall five-star and we appreciate the hotel team so much for the wonderful time.

This place is stunning and the service is excellent. Recommend booking through their website or their luxury travel rewards program for various perks you get upgrades, early check in and included transport. Do not skimp on the transport this place needs a boat to arrive. They are literally waiting for you at airport will take your bags and you do nothing but relax as soon as you land. They take care of all the logistics and transport its honestly 5 star just on that. The resort is stunning, has beautiful landscape, amenities, and location. Food is amazing and the grotto dinner experience is a must do. I would 100 percent return to this place. Tips: They provide you with a list of resort activities, dont wait and plan and book them, they have to be booked a day in advance. I wish I would have known this and booked more activities. This is not a place where you should skimp on transport. They have a flawless system and trust them, it is worth the extra money for them to take care of everything from the airport to your door you will be stunned with how get the logistics are taken care of so you can focus on relaxing and enjoying this stunning location.

This hotel was unreal. The setting is gorgeous, giving both a jungle & beachy vibe. The staff was beyond exceptional- everything you ask for, the answer is yes. The beaches & pool were beautiful, the Grotto was an awesome spot for dinner, and the breakfast was delicious. The spa was such a highlight as well - so peaceful & relaxing. The rooms were very spacious with multiple bathrooms, great beds, & great air conditioning. The visit from the monkeys was such a plus! Also, in general, they do a good job managing the mosquitoes. The Rayavadee made our honeymoon absolutely amazing!

Probably the most stunning resort I have stayed at. The grounds are magical; I enjoyed wandering around every morning and evening looking at the trees and flowers, watching for birds and critters. The accommodations are beautiful; I was happy with the location of mine tucked away from high-traffic areas, but there were some (for example, near the pool or close to the main walkways) where I would not have enjoyed as much. Ask for an “out of the way” room if that would bother you. Excellent and friendly service, from the groundskeepers and beach attendants to the spa and restaurants. There was a diverse selection of meals and restaurants. Some meals I wish were available as half portions; lots of things seemed designed for two or for sharing. I appreciated the selection of teas in the room and the fresh and dried fruit offered daily. Wonderful amenities offered in the bathroom (of note: shampoo AND CONDITIONER, razor and shaving cream, and mosquito repellent). The arrival and departure could use a little improvement. They say it takes “10 minutes” to get from the airport to the dock, but it’s closer to 20 minutes. Then the “10 minute” wait at the dock turned into 30 minutes because we had to wait for others to arrive from the airport. The boat ride to the resort was about 15-20 minutes; once we arrived at the resort, there was no space for the boat to pull in, so it was another 15 minutes of trying to rearrange boats so we could squeeze in. Solo travelers: This is a wonderful location if you’re traveling solo. The beaches can be accessed by the public, although there are security guards who keep non-hotel-guests from accessing the resort property from the public beach. I never felt unsafe. The resort does not offer a solo-friendly room rate.; it’s the same whether you are one person or two, so my rate included round trip airport transfers for two people, breakfast for two people, etc.
Soaring Solo — Google review
Great location, amenities, property conditions, breakfast. Only service from some staffs were not professional. Lots of monkeys and other animals around. Rich in nature of beach and caves. Though the rooms are not very new, they are in good condition with free cookies daily. For breakfast, would recommend ordering Thai food more than international ones or desserts. Free round-trip from airport with van and their own speed boats.

Wonderful rooms with comfortable beds and clean, modern bathrooms. The staff are wonderful, kind, and so helpful. All 3 restaurants have absolutely delicious foods with Thai and western options as well as GORGEOUS beach views. 3 fabulous beaches, all unique and beautiful as well as a luxious swimming pool. Can't recommend highly enough!
Elli Jacobson — Google review
It's simple: it's paradise! There is no default to this place. The staff is amazing, the attention to details in everything (services, bungalows, food, etc..) is top notch. Having your own little house on the middle of the jungle surrounded with animals (monkeys, toucans, monitor lizards, etc....), but still enjoying the luxury of a five stars hotel is absolutely wonderful. The only bad point is the awful noise of the dozens of long-tail boats coming and going in one of the beaches. But I guess the hotel can't do much against it.
patrick mullot — Google review
The actual grounds of the hotel is stunning. I’ve never seen anything like it. It felt like your very own small jungle paradise. The service was excellent and made us feel attended to at all times. The food was better than expected. We also did an excursion with Todd who is magnificent! The excursion was to James Bond island and Hong island — although pricer than others it was worth it for the personal care and attention. The lunch provided and boat ride was phenomenal. Unfortunately, the only downside was that on our last two nights we found ants on the bed. It was addressed and somewhat understandable being that the resort is basically in the jungle.
Jaylene Rubio — Google review
Wow wow 🤩 We have travelled extensively in recent years but nothing compares to this slice of paradise. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome and at home . The hotel is faultless in every way and the attention to detail is unmissable from the accommodation to the food and to all the staff that make this hotel work in every way. Special thanks to Luna and Eakky for going above and beyond. We will be back ❤️

My favorite hotel in Thailand. What a wonderful establishment. My husband and I had a great time last year and came back this year because we enjoyed it very much. The views, the sea, the food, the service. Truly fantastic

It’s an incredible insertion into the jungle! Very relaxing and walkable space, full of vegetation and wildlife. Rooms are very comfortable and well integrated. Good breakfast and spa ( here you can have both good and bad ). Too much air conditioning everywhere ( the difference between outside and inside is insanely big ). Thai restaurant is really good but no on the day when the chef is off. Incredible food at buffets night thai and Grotto.

Went here in my honeymoon. Expensive but definitely worth the extra spend. Staff are all so nice and the amenities on the property are top notch. The restaurant /bar on Railay West is so convenient to sit and enjoy the beach while each fresh fruit and sipping on frozen coconut.
Jin Kang — Google review
a big disappointment, photos and ads look great but really overpriced compared to what they offer. rooms are old, AC and refrigerator super noisy, joke of a gym and spa and the super-hyped and super-expensive grotto has mediocre food/experience, albeit the great sunset views. lowlight of our vacation after Chiang Mai and Phuket, sea is also quite dirty, jellyfish is a problem and the resort seems to do nothing for cleaning up the beaches.

A truly fantastic place. The service is phenomenal, and the resort offers an incredible oasis in a location otherwise crowded with a lot of people. Situated at the end of the strip, The Last Bar is a popular hangout spot for visitors to the town. Nestled along the beachfront, it offers a relaxed atmosphere where guests can savor drinks and watch Thai boxing matches and fire shows while listening to the soothing sounds of waves crashing from the Andaman Sea. The bar's casual vibe is accentuated by its unique Thai beach-style wooden furniture and cushions, making it an ideal place to unwind without worrying about dressing up.

When for a couple of drinks here, the owner and his wife were lovely. He played guitar and sang live music, very talented and a great voice unlike the vast majority of the live singers around Railey, while his wife made some very strong cocktails! Pool table is hilariously bad but funny to play on. Great atmosphere with the live music.

Best place to eat & drink in Railay beach 100% This is by far the best place to eat and to unwind with drinks after the sunset . The food and staff of the restaurant are amazing , reasonable prices and huge menu to make everyone happy , we ended up eating here everyday 🤤 Tge bar next door was also our favourite bar in Railay . They got delicious cocktails , free pool table , live music and a banging playlist for the end of the night sometimes along with a fire show - this is a must visit venue if you’re in Railay 🌴

Worth the walk to eat here. Large open air kitchen so you can see the food being made, will customize to your desired level of spice, good size portions and kind service. Plus seaside view! It's a restaurant mostly and a bar next door.

We ate at the restaurant next to the bar. Cheap and pretty good. Shakes are pretty bad with a lot of water. The live music from the bar was pretty nice, yet a bit loud. Sitting is very very basic, so you need to like such a vibe. There is a Thai boxing arena there, with fights at 10:30pm. Cool for taking some photos of yourself before the fights 😀

I ate at the restaurant next to the bar. The foods are somewhat ok. It was included in the package of touring the island. Probably if you want to have a delicious food, you may order the hot ones especially on tomyum. The walkability location, easy to access.

Good food. Fair prices for railay. Compared to north Thailand where you can get a decent meal for 40 bhat, here in the south you’ll pay from 120 bhat. This restaurant provides simple dishes but with fresh ingredients that taste good and won’t make you feel guilty. The Thai green curry was excellent. They also do breakfasts too. Wednesday nights they do Maui Thai boxing from 10pm.

Food took a long time to come and when it did it wasn’t good. Very hard to go wrong with a pad thai, mine tasted as if it was cooked in old grease. Only received three shrimp which were very over cooked. Other reviews are good though so maybe just a bad day.

We had dinner here while on Krabi 7 island trip booked via makemytrip. For non veg it was buffet with chicken, fish, steam rice etc. Food was good. For vegetarian they made especially spring roll, thai noodles and thai green curry vegetables. Pricing is inexpensive considerong the beach side bar. Space is nice and almost at the end of the beach ⛱️ as its name is 😋😍😇

Please skip all those big resorts and dine here. Definitely order Thai cuisine and not international. If you're in Railay, I highly recommend eating here. North Indian restaurant
Kohinoor Indian Restaurant & Pizza offers an authentic taste of India with dishes like Palak Paneer, Plain Naan, and Chicken Taki. The spinach curry is described as having a genuine Indian flavor that's not westernized, while the naan is praised for its perfect texture - chewy inside and crispy outside. The Chicken Taki resembles Tandoori chicken without bones and has a hint of Thai flavor due to the small coriander leaves on the surface.
Its the only place for your Indian food cravings in Railay. That doesnt mean that you have to compromise on taste. The taste and service is as good as it gets. It is located perfectly in the walking street. The server there is also very polite and makes a nice friendly conversation.

This restaurant has some of the best Indian food I've had here in Thailand. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious with good portions and great value. During my week visiting there I had dinner at least three times..yumm

I ordered takeout, never again lmao. Take a look at the picture because it tastes as good as it looks. The butter chicken curry was so overpoweringly salty (we had 4 different people taste it) and runny that we ended up throwing it out after taking a couple bites. There's also a disappointing amount of chicken in the sauce. Paid $400 bacht for a butter chicken and 2 pieces of naan so it's pretty poor value too. The experience might be different with dine in but there's better restaurants around the area.

Lovely Indian food, as good as most places in London if not better. Service is excellent too. The vegetables pakora was a bit average, but everything else we had was delicious, including aloo gobi and yellow daal. Salt lassi was good for the dehydration too. Owner works the shop floor too, which is nice to see, checking everything is fine.

Amazing taste. The restaurant's owners are Indians and, therefore, the food is authentic Indian. The restaurant staff are very polite and ready to suggest one of the good options on the menu. My wife and I ate chicken with spinach sauce that was much more than delicious. I highly recommend and I'm already thinking about getting back there to have dinner! It's not super cheap (neither super expensive) but the quality is proportional to the price. One of the best in Railay for sure.
Carlos Vitor Hugo de Lima Teixeira — Google review
I had Palak paneer(spinach curry) with Plain Naan and Chicken Taki. The taste of the curry made me feel as if I were in India. It is not westernized taste. The texture of the Naan was great. A bit chewy inside, crispy outside. Chicken Taki is basically Tanduri chicken without bones. It's nice. But it has small coriander leaves on the surface. So it tastes a bit thai-ish.
Jun Kim — Google review
Excellent! I loved everything about it. Great service, great curries, great breads, great price. Do not worry about leaving hungry, the portions are large. Aloo paratha, garlic Naan, chana masala, and butter chicken were all top quality dishes.

A traditional India food restaurant. Good prices and large portions. Appears to be managed by a family for many years. Received an Trip Advisor award during 2015 and my experience from these three days is that this is still one of Railay’s best restaurants to eat. The service is lightning fast and there is 15 fans in the ceiling to keep you cold during dinner.

Raitalay Terrace, situated in the Rayavadee hotel and overlooking Railay West, offers a delectable selection of Thai cuisine for lunch and dinner. Notably, the restaurant caters to various dietary needs by providing vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Despite its relatively higher prices, Raitalay Terrace delivers exceptional value through its use of fresh and high-quality ingredients. The service provided by their friendly and attentive staff is unparalleled compared to other establishments in Railay.
1. You have to be a hotel guest to dine here 2. Many reviews that had 1 star were OUTSIDE guest 3. The current rating of this restaurant was prone to 1 star ratings from OUTSIDE guests who were refused service obviously 4. For a 5 star THAILAND based hotel/resort that range from USD 400-2000, the average main course is USD$20. This place is NOT expensive 5. Please do not waste time throwing eggs at this place just because you are not a guest. 6. Stay at this resort, experience the restaurant before you make your contributions Thank you

Been here several times during our stay at Railay and we loved it! First of all I would like to say, that I cannot understand the negative ratings. Okay, it’s on the pricey side, but you get a lot for that: - very delicious food with fresh and high quality ingredients. - excellent service (by far the best, friendliest and most attentive staff we have experienced from all places we’ve been to during our 10 days stay at Railay). - great location! Many thanks to the whole team of Raitalay, for giving your guests such a great experience!

Flame Tree Restaurant offers a variety of reasonably priced dishes, with meals ranging from 100 Baht to 300 Baht or more. The restaurant provides great drinks and a fantastic view at sundown. While some patrons enjoyed the coconut curry and fried rice in pineapple, others found the portion sizes smaller than expected. Despite longer wait times for food, especially for burgers, the staff is friendly and skilled at making cocktails that complement the beautiful sunsets.
Great place for sundowners! First time we sat at the bar, the second time they gave us mats so we could sit on the beach and enjoy the sunset.

The drinks are great and the view at sundown is fantstic. We had no problems with the waiters. Some food was very good. The place has a great location, but we usually waited a very long time (like 45’) to get the burgers, which were ok, even with very few people around. However, the stuff is friendly and they make great cocktails that go very well with sunsets.

The Grotto @ Rayavadee (Hotel guests only) is a popular spot, especially on Tuesdays around 4 PM. It's recommended for couples looking for a romantic dinner with spectacular views. The cave-like setting above the beach adds to its charm. The menu features delicious options like fish in salt shells and Andaman Lobster, as well as exceptional appetizers and sauces.
This was absolutely a magical night! I was looking forward to this dinner for the whole trip and it was worth it! The food was nothing special, i really liked shrimps as a a started and mussels pasta. The view was incredible, i recommended going while it is not too dark so you can enjoy it, as during the night you can’t really see much.

YES, it’s gorgeous. YES, it’s delicious. And YES, it’s expensive. But like, look where you are. It’s for special occasions - I sprang for the romantic package and the table was set beautifully. Did my due diligence and did not order much seafood and focused on the meat dishes, which were all delicious. Definitely recommend ordering everything to share. The Hokkaido scallops were great, wish we got more. The tomahawk steak was decent but the lamb shoulder was fantastic. As was the filet mignon (they may call it eye of round or something). Desserts were superb. Service and setting are unbeatable and didn’t even mind the soft saxophone cover songs. What a wonderful way to celebrate a big birthday or other special occasion.

Feel like we must try once be there (since it's only open for hotel guest)... View - well, you can get greater view by just strolling the shore... Food - a bit disappointed because my dish was served cold (it's BBQ plate!!) Cave atmosphere? hmmmm ... Take lunch at The Grotto. Nice view, good taste. The food take time so long almost 1 hour and have a lot of flies
Suda P. — Google review
Very scenic restaurant with an amazing view, unfortunately the food and drinks are both very overpriced (an orange juice was 220 baht). You are definitely paying for the view as although the food was nice the price did not reflect the quality. They also add additional service charges and VAT on top of their already pricey menu items so bear this in mind if you visit.

Reserve the table in advance, enjoy the moment. The food is generally good but pretty pricy. I really like the view here so I would recommend to be there 30 mins to an hour before the sunset.

We had a fabulous dinner at the Grotto. The Andaman Lobster was perfection. It was grilled and served in shell, but tasted as if it had been poached in butter. My boyfriend had the Surf and Turf platter and really enjoyed his Wagyu beef fillet. But the highlight was a passionfruit custard served in a meringue cup with raspberry glaze. To die for!

Bottom line : the atmosphere and the chance to dine by Phra Nang Cave beach only as a guest saved the ratings to go below 4 stars For 9000 baht for 2 persons, the quality of the lobster was terrible. The meat was flaccid and gluey that initially caused a suspected spoiled dish. Given the occasion, we gave up on the lobster and concentrated in the rest of the service. The scallop starters were also flaccid and not firm in taste and the aubergine was dismal and uninspiring. We essentially ended up eating 2 servings of bread and the steak and fries which left the food portion wanting. I had 3 mosquitos bites despite putting on mosquito repellent and a bunch of China tourist Filming their wedding videos destroyed and mood. I would like to thank the staff for their maximum efforts despite the culinary disaster and will try to avoid this place in the future. I would like the management to rethink their menu and quality of food for the price they charge.

Very special place, to go as a couple, for a romantic dinner. The views are spectacular. I recommend the evening, it is a mixture of a cave above the beach, brutal. The fish in salt shells is especially delicious, it is the fish of the day, they gave us a snapper of 1.5kg approx for the two of us. 4500bath plus beverage. The other meet dishes are a little more expensive about 6900baths. Like Tomahawk. The individual lobster is great. 2900bhat. The sauces, the appetizers, exceptional. They have wines to accompany, they have Thai wine and it is acceptable, although none of them Spanish, that can be improved ;)

The most amazing diner ever... ♡♡♡ Choice between 4 menu's. We had (besides the golden sunset) a very friendly service. Our main dish was "earth & sea" : lobster, king prawn, sea beam, lamb and wagyu... What can you possibly ask for more? And the chef in the kitchen prepared it with great care and passion. #bucketlist #top #amazing Really 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝
