Cascate del Mulino-Hot Spring, also known as Waterfalls of Saturnia or Cascate del Gorello, is a popular and fascinating destination. The warm thermal pools are created by sulphuric waters rising from the ground at 37.5°C, providing a spa-like experience. Visitors recommend visiting around 5pm to witness the spectacular sunset and enjoy the tranquility of the place. While entry to the waterfall is free, there's no free parking available.
Amazing!!! Beautiful hot spring pools that are well maintained and loved by locals and tourist’s alike. The pools are lined but small round limestone marbles that are a food massage. Pick a tier to soak and relax in! Slight sulphur smell but it quickly rinses off. A natural infinity edge pool with unbeatable views! Stunning and highly recommended stay!

Beautiful natural place. I recommend to arrive really early (before 8am) on weekends. We arrived at 7am on a Sunday and there was already enough people there. But perfect to find a spot and relax before it gets really crowded. Paid 12€ for 5 hours 🅿️. There is a nice restaurant/cafe place right next to it! We definitely going back, probably after summer when less crowded

This is as beautiful in person as it is in pictures. The color is breath taking and the warm temperature is so relaxing. I see a lot of complaints about it being busy due to tourists. Of course it is - it’s a free attraction open 24/7. We wanted to go when no one was there to get drone footage. We woke up at 4:30 AM to do so and glad we did. There were still a few people there even at sunrise. However, you can see from my video - not many. If you want the luxury of an empty hot springs, you better do the work to get up early for it.

Amazing place. Natural, and you can take your kids here as long as they are a bit older. Make sure you pack sandals as the natural forming stones will hurt you. This is an amazing relaxing place. Also, make sure you park and pay on the parking place and not on the front of the shops. You will get a hefty fine.
Swrajit Sarkar — Google review
Our visit was in early October 2022. We were able to find it easily using Google Maps’ directions. We were lucky to find a parking spot very close to the hot spring. This place was magical. I had an Injured knee and was walking with a crutch, but I was still able to navigate the terrain and find a warm pool to relax in. The water temperature was perfect, and the current of the water felt lovely as it passed over me. There were many people at the hot spring, but it did not feel crowded. People were very respectful of each other. Very peaceful. There is a cafe on site (I did not go there) and I saw signs for toilets. This is a spot that is definitely worth taking a trip to.

We absolutely loved coming here during our short stay in Toscana. Definitely try coming really early in the morning to avoid the heat during summer and also the crowd. We went around 6 am and there were people already, but it was still pleasant and you could enjoy being surrounded by nature. The place is also open 24/7 so you can enjoy a night bath, definitely try going during the week, so its’s a bit quieter. The water is pleasantly warm, be prepared to see some little larvae around, you are in the wild, there is no chlorine in the water, insects will always love to come to these waters to lay eggs, but they are 100% harmless, just try to go up near the waterfalls where the water doesn’t stay still, there are barely any there.
Julia Carbonaro — Google review
The hot spring was absolutely stunning. We could see the hot mist from far. The entire place was amazing. The waterfall, random ponds of hot spring water, the river, the view of Tuscany. I would swim here everyday if I could!! There’s also a very clean restroom and shower room available (free of charge). Of course, the best part was that we do not have to pay a single cent to visit and dip in the hot spring! Parking is readily available. I visited early and managed to grab a spot right outside the hot spring. However there’s also a big carpark with many lots around 300m away from the hot spring. We visited on a public holiday (Dec 26) and the place wasn’t crowded. But the restaurant next door was closed.

Filter the reviews and read all the lowest ratings. It's hilarious and scary at the same time. Yes we did find all those very alive red worms and there were many people with their dogs bathing in the water. Parking was easy, the walk is about 5 minutes. 2€ per hour. We arrived right before 10am on a Monday mid October and it wasn't too crowded. However, lots of people started showing up when we left around 10:30am. Flip flops are a must otherwise the rocks will give you a very strong foot massage. We just dipped our feet in there because there were too many red worms. We thought there wouldn't be any red worms at the hotel pool down the street but they also had them (although very few, like I saw 5 during 3 hours) compared to millions here. The site is beautiful and if we werent with little kids we would probably go in for a real dip.

Amazing must see, Worth the time to drive here. Water is so relaxing you can soak for hours! Bring a picnic and relax. The most unique Hot Springs. Lots of people but plenty of space to find your own spot. ITS FREE!

What a special place on earth!! The setting of the pools is magic and the water is so cozy and warm! We were there in the late afternoon beginning of June, and there were not so many people around. Entry is free all day and night long. Parking is close by, but its height is restricted (not possible if you have a campervan). The place is famous, but for a good reason.
Stefanie R — Google review
That was a great experience. The cool thing is it's free (except parking) and there's a restroom out there plus you can purchase a shower and a locker. The springs itself was so good, but you need to be careful as it's very slippery
Oleg K — Google review
I had heard horror stories of just how many people visit this site, so was pleasantly surprised to find only 20-30 people here on a sunny winter's day. Incredibly picturesque, water is an amazing temperature, and plenty of space for everyone above and below the falls. Make sure you use sunscreen!
Brendan Bachmann — Google review
We parked at the parking few hundred meters away. There was no way to pay, a qr code sent mw on website of sis company and i spent 5 useless minutes navigating there and searching for muvin app. Then we walked and the area with the pools was pretty full, but charming and attractive for a warm bath.
Cristi — Google review
Parking is just up the road, pay and display at 3,5 euros per hour. Get changedin the car, remember not to leave valuables. We rented a locker for 5 euros at the cafe next to the spring, so we did not have to worry about our valuables or car keys when we vent for a soak in the beautiful hot spring. It is free to enter, and there are several terraces you can soak in. It is probably full up in high season, even in low season when we visited (mid October) on a weekday, it was full of locals and tourists. You will smell like rotten eggs, and you silver jewellery will taint black from the sulphur. After the dip, you can get shower at the cafe, 1 euro for 2 minutes, and it helps with the smell. Well worth the unique stop.
Orjan Wremer — Google review
Fantastic looking place. Well worthwhile visit. There is no change for entry, and the pools and springs are open to the public. We visited mid December and the location had maybe two dozen bathers but can imagine it gets very busy during the summer months. Public showers and Toilets are very close by. And paid parking is available about 500m away. A restaurant is onsite offering usual tourist location food and drinks
Patrick Mc Loughlin — Google review
It is a spectacular place, the water falls at a super strong pressure from the waterfall and it is spectacular to feel that hot water, you feel in a spa and the tranquility that being in those waters gives you makes you feel rejuvenated, I recommend going at 5pm to Being able to see the sunset, which is spectacular, the place does not have free parking and entering the waterfall is completely free. However, the smell that the waterfall gives off can be annoying or very strong for some people. Remember to bring a towel and shoes. comfortable and swimsuit to live that unique experience that is worth living and even more so if it is as a couple.

Agriturismo Le Cascatelle is a charming stone bungalow farmstay offering picturesque countryside views and access to a thermal bathing stream. It's an ideal place for nature lovers seeking peace and quiet, with only birdsongs filling the air during the day. The highlight of this special place is its walking distance to the cascades at Saturnia, where guests can take a short dip in the river flowing downstream past the hotel.
Staff very kind. Room clean. Maybe just office hours stop very early and lack of restauration...

What makes this place special is walking distance to the cascades at Saturnia. Breakfast is fine and there is an option of a short dip in the river running downstream from the cascades past the hotel. The hotel area has a lot of insects; internet is varied and aircon is very weak.

Good place if you want to spend days at the free spring next to it because it has one of the best locations. You can take a walk and in 5 minutes you will be there. They have a great parking and place itself is beautiful. Rooms are good but not the best as some things are broken and some things don’t work (Nothing too serious but in my case the shower door was not locking). The biggest issue is internet. It just doesn’t work anywhere and it works only if you go outside. They do say about the quality of internet so I can’t blame them. I also found out that their wifi was better at the spring than at home. All in all, a great place to enjoy the springs.

My husband and I stayed a night here after a day at the hot springs resort. It’s such a beautiful and peaceful property very close to the public thermal springs. Upon checking in they provided a list of restaurants that were a short drive away. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast room was cute too with all homemade jams and cakes, and local goods. I would’ve loved to stay here longer!

My boyfriend and I stayed here on our Italy road trip. This was a very very nice place - the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating in every way. They have a lovely cat outside to greet you when you first check and check out. The receptionist speaks English. The natural hot pools are within walking distance. Definitely recommend and we will return. An Italy dream.

We've no regret choosing this place as one of our road trip's pit stops in Saturnia. The fact that it's so close to the Mulino hot spring, we can just walk for merely 10 minutes to enjoy the hot spring is super convenience. Part of the river where the hot spring flow by is within the property too. Not to mention the breakfast with freshly baked cakes, croissants, eggs, juices, fruits etc. using the selected ingredients from their own farm. We will choose Le Cascatelle again if we return to Saturnia next time.

Absolutely beautiful very quiet location. Just a short walk from the springs. The hosts are very accommodating and extremely nice. Oh, and the cats are super friendly and funny

What a lovely place. Room was nice and roomy, shower was a little small but it didn't bother me. Breakfast is SUPER! Ingredients were all local sourced, and they have their own winery as well. I bought a case of red there. Right near the waterfall, unfortunately it was under construction but it is a walking distance. Staff were nice and helpful. I highly recommend.

It is more a country house than an hotel, but so cozy that you will forget about it. Nice furnitures, clean rooms, comfortable beds and the amazing breakfast are more than you usually can have in a four star hotel. But the best will come when with a five minutes walk you can go to the famous waterfalls or follow the river that come from them and flows into the owner's property. It's wonderful in all seasons
Alessandro Bronzo — Google review
Beautiful place with a very warm and nice staff! It's very quiet and next to the Cascate del Mulino (walking distance). We stayed in a small bangalo with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen. I really recommend this place if you love nature and a peaceful place! The only sound come from the birds during the day.

Historical landmark
Porta Romana is an ancient archway in Saturnia, believed to have Etruscan and Roman origins. Some argue that certain stonework predates these periods. It stands as the only surviving gate from the town's early days, dating back to the 3rd century BC on Via Clodia in the town center. The path beyond the gate may not be well-maintained but is still accessible.

Via Clodia, also known as Via delle Terme, is a historic route in Tuscany that passes through a bustling town near the remains of an Etruscan necropolis. The ancient settlement's remnants include the Porta Romana and an old bathhouse with a Roman-era pool next to the church of the Maddalena.
(Translated by Google) And yes, according to the Peutinger Table (but it is not absolutely certain) the Clodia reached as far as Saturnia and I followed it from there, a route of trade between Aurelia and Cassia and of military occupation of the Rasenna, and then perhaps it reached as far as Statonia, Cosa and perhaps Ruselle, we don't know, who can tell me the surviving sections taken from Portonaccio and Tuscania? The sections are to be discovered and would also be useful for google maps, the Clodia gate on the street is certainly Etruscan, but remodeled by the Aldobrandeschi and then by the Sienese and Florentine republics, it is spectacular, if you go to Saturnia it is worth a tour.

AMAZING!!! Very affordable restaurant, but don’t let the prices fool you. The service is fenomenal, they are very attentive, fast, friendly, they speak English and Italian. The food is superb, chef Marco is terrific!!! You won’t regret or forget this restaurant.

The Angus steak with truffle was horrific. I asked for medium rare and what I got was a chewy, greasy, tasteless piece of rubber. The oven potatoes were probably deep fried and not oven cooked, otherwise I can't explain the grease. The poor man's soup was the only good dish. My girlfriend got seashell and they were also unfortunately full of sand, not properly cleaned. We chose this place because it was close to our stay in Saturnia and because it was open during the Riposo. Never again.

Had an amazing dinner here this evening, and probably overstayed my welcome a bit. Great food and great conversation with neighboring tables on the patio. Service was excellent, and everyone was patient with my minimal Italian. Had the acquacotta Toscana - rich, hearty, satisfying but not heavy at all. Followed with the tagliolini con tortufo fresco - also excellent. I had an after dinner coffee order that’s something of an amusement in Italy, but they accommodated it without hesitation. If you’re in Saturnia for the evening, I’d highly recommend dinner here. You’ll enjoy it.

I usually don’t bother to leave reviews but the experience my partner and I had here was so atrocious that I feel the need to. Right from the start we were served stale bread, largely the end pieces of several loaves. Looking around, it was clear that the more “affluent-looking” guests were being served fresher bread. We ordered some salads that were plain and carelessly-prepared and then ordered main dishes from the lower end of the menu’s price range. This is when the waiter’s attitude toward us turned really bad. The pasta we were served was unbearably salty, and this is coming from someone that adds salt to EVERYTHING. I let the waiter know and he became extremely rude, asking if we liked tomato and garlic and quickly snatching our plates away from us without any confirmation from us. He then brought us tiny portions of pasta with tomato and garlic and made a snide, condescending remark about how pecorino cheese is very salty. We could see other people with the same dish had received appropriate portions and realized that he’d been treating us differently the whole time because we didn’t have the aire of being big-spenders. It was truly surprising, considering the cheap, trashy vibe of the restaurant (the toilet didn’t even have a seat and would not flush). It’s worth noting that the older, more affluent couple next to us were also clearly extremely dissatisfied with their food. If you value yourself and like to be treated with dignity, avoid this establishment and especially the grouchy short-haired waiter with the beard who seemingly thinks it’s acceptable to treat people without any respect.

No.1, if you’re not a meat lover or appreciate a good cut of beef, don’t go to this place. Now for the meat lovers, just awesome, but not just the steaks, but everything. We didn’t have desert as we simply could not take in any extra food. The staff is amazing and really know their staff. Also the place makes you feel welcome, although a bit to warm with the fireplace going. A bit pricey, but worth every euro. Highly recommended.

Wonderful restaurant, incredibly nice set up with fire place, great service and amazing food. We had the black angus steak. We order less than a Kg in order to be able to eat it all, and had backed potatoes with rosemary as well as porcini mushrooms on the side. The meat presentation, cooking and taste where wonderful. Unfortunately we where traveling the next morning or we would have probably booked to go back again the next evening. Highly recommended, indeed.

I’m writing in English to extend as much as possible the contents’ sharing: Being a “I Due Cippi” feels like being at the theatre, to watch a Lyric Opera: We were seated in a wonderful first raw table right next to the fire and grill; where both cookers were dancing with hypnotic movements while preparing delicious steaks and other meat selection.. During the show we had some starters of the house with a nice Ca’ del Bosco. Followed by two delicious startes: pork belly with shrimp (superb!) and the tartare. Followed by one of the most delicious steak i’ve ever tasted!! Service also was incredible and all waiters were attentive and discreet. Price in line with the place, name, and finest food! Would definitely go again.

Outstanding service in this hidden gem of the italian gastronomy. Whenever there is a fireplace in a restaurant, you know what to pick off a menu: Fiorentina and Poultry are a must of this restaurant’s repertoire; Ribollita or Acqua Cotta hold the essence of Tuscan cuisine; Cacio e Pepe, done with ground coffee, dare to challenge the tradition with a clever and clean sense of taste. A personal classic.

There seemed to be many locals there so I think even they would rank it very high! The dishes with truffles they shaved the truffles on the plate in front of you and you could instantly smell them! So delicious!! There is a large public parking lot right next door which was very convenient and they had an English menu as well as the waiters spoke English. The perfect restaurant for us. Firstly, every dish we had was incredible. The steak with truffle, the pasta, the deserts, all wow, amazing ! Service is slow, which is actually great and perfectly timed which makes the experience. Couldn’t ask for better service. The atmosphere is romantic, smart but very casual, great for romance but also for families. This is the best resto experience we’ve had for at least a year. We went there on the first night after enjoying the hot springs all day and it was so good that we went again for our second and last night in Saturnia. It’ll be the first place we go when we return. Make sure to book as it can get busy and I recommend a table inside as the atmosphere is definitely better. Thank you, Gracie mille!

Incredibly romantic atmosphere, great food and kind hosts. Would absolutely come back!

Everything tasted great! Aside from the fact that there weren't a lot of restaurants open for some reason (seasonal thing? Not sure) this place did not disappoint. Large selection of wine also. The credit card machine wasn't working but the ATM is a minute away from this place. Cozy setting. Friendly staff.

Il Melangolo is a restaurant located in Saturnia, offering a nice location and beautiful environment. Despite initial reservations about the welcome, the service turned out to be good and the food delicious. The staff may not have had the best English, but they were friendly and accommodating. The meals are well-presented and reasonably priced, making it great value for money.
My partner and I stayed in Saturnia for one night to visit the hot springs and went into the town for dinner. We found this restaurant was not the most welcoming to begin with but that must have been because they were busy. The found us a table quickly, the food was delicious and service was good. We tried to speak so Italian as the staff didn't have the best English but they tried to understand our Italian attempts and were friendly. We thought it was also great value for what you get!

The experience was terrible. From the first moment they said that “no pizza for lunch”, but knowing that they are pizzeria, it sounded stupid. We ordered gnocchi and pasta with mushrooms were terrible. Pasta seemed like taken from the freezer and gnocchi had no taste. All of it costed a lot and it wasn’t worth it. Service price per person was 2€ and it seemed too high. Waitresses were not polite and it ruined the day mood. I won’t ever come back. !!!Look for another place!!!

Nice location and beautiful environment. Good service and delicious food. The foods are also well decorated and served. Dogs are allowed to enter the restaurant. The price is reasonable. The only problem is that they have several cats running around and triggered our dog barking and chasing:-(

The service was exceptionally bad, the female waiter seemed pissed off. Male waiter smelled like he just run a marathon. Portions was small. Fish was full of bones, medium seemed to mean raw. Would never come back here again.

Restaurant
Da Mario is a charming Italian restaurant known for its antipasto, stone-grilled Florentine steak, and other traditional Italian dishes. The unique feature of this place is that the service and cooking are personally handled by Mario himself. Guests can enjoy watching him cook at the barbecue near their tables. Even those who didn't want meat found the pasta and soups to be delicious. Visitors also appreciated the complimentary bruschetta and mini chocolate provided by the restaurant.
Service and cooking performed by Mario himself. Very nice wine and meat place, with the barbecue near the tables, and Mario cooking there by yourself. We did not wanted meat, unfortunately, but we asked for pasta and soups and were very tasty. Bruschetta and mini chocolate were given to us as a courtesy. Small chat with Mario. We will never forget this random and espontaneous experience! Recommend it 100%

The restaurant was cute but the service was absolutely horrible. Yes, we speak very little Italian, but deciphered the menu with our phones then ordered politely. They took our order in a very gruff fashion and ignored us the rest of the time. We were very uncomfortable through a very bland dinner. We we’re definitely treated differently than the other patrons, for what I assume was our nationality. Poor service, 10 euro cover!, fairly tasteless food. I would not recommend going here. I’ve had better service at fast food.

(Translated by Google) The food is good but the prices slightly high. Nothing to say about the food, all good. The only thing to do is the owner, Mr. Mario, who is a bit grumpy. That is, he greeted those at the table next to ours who were going to Trento and he didn't want to say hello to us.
