Beautiful place with ornaments everywhere. It does however feel very showy and touristy. Appears to cater to local and western tourists exclusively.

Huanglongxi Ancient Town Tourism Area (Northeast Gate)

Mentioned on
National park
Huanglongxi Ancient Town Tourism Area, located in Chengdu, China, is a charming destination for a day trip. This historical town boasts cobblestone streets lined with stilted buildings from the Ming and Qing eras, as well as ancient temples and a water mill. To reach Huanglongxi Ancient Town from Chengdu, travelers can purchase bus tickets at Chadianzi Bus Station for approximately 15 to 16 RMB and head to platforms 32 or 36.
Beautiful tourist spot with reasonable price, nice temperature (14-18°C in early April). But, do use translators if you don't speak mandarin, because nobody there speaks other language except mandarin and the local language.

Unfortunately a manufactured tourist trap. Honestly best to be avoided. I have no doubt it could be a historical site, but the buildings etc are not historical but cladded to look like it. The shops are all commercial and irrelevant, snow city, haunted houses, KFC, Starbucks?! It's crazy.

Great for a day trip! To get there from Chengdu, go to Chadianzi Bus Station, buy your ticket for the bus (15/16 RMB), and go to platform 32 or 36.

The night when I went there was quiet, not seeing much people there, however, the lights around the town were beautiful.

Beautiful town. Visited in 2017. The history is awesome, the noodles great and the stores are cool. It's crowded but worth the visit!

This is actually a man-made ancient town. It has all the distinct features of an old town, with many local food and snacks stores. If you happen to pass near by, worth the visit to soend a couple hours to walk around, but, be ready to do it with lots of other people, crowded. Weekend visits nit recommended!
Tammy Liu — Google review
Said to be one of 10 oldest towns in China. Completely "touristified". Only the houses are authentic, if one disregard the ground floors which have all turned into shops, selling various products and food. The spirit of the town is completely gone. This is now a mass tourist attraction. It is nicely laid out though with small waterways and bridges and stepstones. Visited on a weekend and quite a crowd. Presume it is a nice afternoon getaway from Chengdu. Older ladies try to sell head flower wreaths, so one sees many visiting ladies wearing same. Lots of stalls sell refreshing made-on-the-spot pomegrate juice

Good for photo taking. Perhaps due to winter, the place doesn't seem popular, even with the locals other than those doing Douyin.

Exciting place. Sights sounds smell taste. Nicely refurbished and very lively especially over the may 1st holiday. Even more meaningful if you understand Chinese.

Chengdu Airport impresses with its modern infrastructure and efficient operations. The spacious terminals provide a comfortable travel experience, complemented by a variety of shops and dining options. The airport's cleanliness and well-maintained facilities contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. Staff members are generally courteous and helpful. However, occasional language barriers may pose a challenge for international travelers. Despite this, Chengdu Airport stands out as a well-managed hub, offering a smooth and enjoyable journey for passengers.

Chengdu International Airport. I find it very clean and well maintained. If you are coffee lover then Starbucks is on the first floor, KFC is next to it. I choose Chinese, spicy chicken mince with rice. Price is reasonable, had a little issue while ordering due to language barrier.

清潔な空港でした。預け荷物を受け取るときレーン付近が大混雑でした。そのほかは大変スムーズでした(深夜2時着だったからかもしれませんが) 空港のトイレは紙もあって掃除も行き届いていました。 (Translated by Google) The airport was clean. There was a lot of congestion near the lane when I received my checked baggage. Other than that, it was very smooth (maybe because I arrived at 2 o'clock in the middle of the night). The toilet at the airport had paper and was well cleaned.

The airport is quite clean and safe, not much people try to rip off you in the night and quite easy to het a cab or go to downtown than new airport. The only problem aince there are new airport, we need to go to different airport which is quite far....

It was first experience in Chengdu as transit flying to Hanoi from UAE and returning to Kathmandu from hanoi again... Language is great barrier for non chinese speakers so would appreciate it if translator options be available for travellers.... I was flying by Sichuan airlines and we had a hotel booking for transit so it was really difficult to understand things on getting through immigration and obtaining a temporary visa to get to the hotels.... I heard few of my friends being denied a temporary visa a few days back although I managed it smoothly so I feel airlines should work on passing the information correctly and properly so that no hassle occurs to the passengers. The airport looked great but I would appreciate it if any hotel or lounge with payment options available within the airport so that many passengers opt for that options. Passenger with longer transit would be benefited as growing connectivity of Chinese airlines towards America, Australia, Japan and Korea is growing rapidly with more and more number of flights and passengers would be mor encouraged to opt the route.

I don’t understand why they decided to build the new airport TFU in Jianyang which is 60km from Chengdu city center. Shuangliu CTU is always the priority of my air travel destination.
YMI YQ — Google review
Large, clean, friendly airport. Easy to get around.
Henry Chen — Google review
Modern and new airport, not much people speak English. Security for airport is tight, safe for all. Expressway to airport makes travelling a breeze if you can reach airport express. Some traffic jam along the way to expressway especially if stayed in city. Immigration is straight forward as not much international flight here.

I often connect here with Air China from London to Shanghai and its not a bad airport. I've always found it to be a really smooth transfer. The airport is showing its age in parts and it can take time to get through customs but staff are lovely and its a good location.

Very nice and cleaned Airport , the size is too big seems that is like a hub for many international and domestic flights, is operating 24 hours a day, most of the shops are opened from 06:00 am, due that the city of Chengdu is linked with the Panda 🐼 I will called that airport Panda Chengdu International Airport.
