Greek restaurant
Restaurant
Enalion Restaurant is a seafood-focused restaurant in the harbourside district of Pollonia on the island of Milos. The menu features local catches and traditional Greek dishes, such as stifado (stew) with octopus, tomatoes, onions and wine and Milos honey. The restaurant is popular so reservations are recommended.
The location is opposite an organized beach at the end of one of the main roads into the village. The traffic is not a distraction however. The tomato balls/ fritters were good, not the best I’ve had but still delicious. The grilled shrimps were tender and quite exquisite with the saffron infused sauce. The Greek salad was very generously portioned. At the end of the meal they served a complimentary non-alcoholic digestive drink of honey and cinnamon that is so delicious it should be bottled and sold.
Razena Schroeder (Tantalise My Taste Buds) — Google review
Excellent. It’s beautifully situated in the port of Pollonia, and the food is superb - the Greek salad left no wishes open, it’d been nicely flushed in extra virgin oil (local produce, organic). The mussels were outstanding, very rich in flavour and coming with an excellent sauce made of Greek white wine. The grilled squid topped it off, perfectly crunchy and yet full of delicious flavours with a tad of taste from the grill. Service was excellent, they go the extra mile and treat you with a smile.

Delicious food, friendly staffs! Had lunch there on 6th of August 2023. Better to get there a bit earlier than actual lunch time if you’d like to get a table next to the beach (they do have tables indoor too). Shrimp Saganaki is a must try dish. Grilled eggplant with feta cheese would be a good pick to boost your appetite. Definitely worth visit!

Amazing fish restaurant Try the filled squid, shrimps and octopus Reservation recommended Parking is available for free a bit before you can also find on google maps Ask for a table on the see deck otherwise can get a bit noisy in the yard next to the street Service was really quick and friendly Food was awesome! You can combine with drinks around there are a lot of options

Good food, a bit pricey. I was a little disappointed in the stuffed squid, average taste I think. But the seafood pasta with ouzo was really good!
Yimei Chiang — Google review
It was good but we were expecting more after all the vibe and the difficulty to get a table for the same day, so we made reservations for the next day at 10PM (only time available). My octopus was cooked beyond the ideal point, although it was fresh. There are better options, I wouldn’t “fight” to get a table at this place.
Cecilia Teixeira — Google review
This place is so good we ate here three days running. Wonderful fresh ingredients that are well prepared/cooked, charming staff and an excellent wine list. The fresh cheese is superb, as is the fresh soup (made by granny) and there was nearly a fight over the biscuit dessert as everyone wanted it. Delicious grilled lobster. Very fresh fish and succulent prawns. The salads are excellent and we always over-ordered starters but, through sheer greed, ate them all - fava, ceviche and aubergine were particular favourites. The local dessert is interesting - best eaten with yoghurt. Ilios really knows his wines and delights in sharing his knowledge. We had a delicious Pegasus 1999 on our last night, which was very special. There are tables next to the beach (very romantic) or else outside the main restaurant building on the other side of the road, on the corner. Local cats are eager for attention but not over-intrusive; they add to the charm. The location is great for both people and cat watching. Enalion and its staff deserve their accolades. It is worth reserving a table in advance, rather than just turning up, as the restaurant is very popular. Thank you to you all for looking after us so well.

The fish and seafood was fresh! The owner herself was very welcoming and even told us we might be over ordering… we order the extra plates regardless ;)

Plaki traditional. Like cioppino f ing amazing. Very good service. Good house wine. Cheap ouzo. Loved it. I even went back for seconds and had the shrimp saganaki. So, i have eaten all over the world and these two dishes are in my top twenty of all time. Unbelievably good. OH and the fava is amazing, not over seasoned with great olive oil.
Richard Romboy — Google review
Beautiful location right by the sea and harbour, ask for a table right by the beach. Tasty and wholesome food, generous portions and great taste. Make sure to try the fish plaki in casserole, one of their signature dishes that’s homecooked by the owner’s mother. Many of the waiters are part of the family that owns it, incredibly friendly and attentive. Can’t recommend it enough.
Roman Dahl — Google review
Some of the best food we had in Milos. The shrimp pasta was recommended by the waiter and I'm so glad I took the rec - it was phenomenal. Shrimp cooked perfectly, pasta al dente, and the sauce amazing. We also had some fish that was so fresh and perfectly prepared. Really enjoyed this spot.
Bryan Carroll — Google review
Excellent fish taverna! The menu was a little different, with creative dishes as well as the usual. The beachside seating is gorgeous and has excellent views. The fresh fish was delightful - we had a red rockfish for the first time and it was very well grilled. The grilled Kalamari was also delicious, and the eggplant was surprisingly tasty.
Carla Myers — Google review
Great restaurant in Apollonia. I made reservations here for our first night on the island. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. As a fan of all types of sparkling wine, I was excited to see some local varieties. With the help of the waiter, I chose one from northern Greece. We shared the olives, fava, and skordalia as appetizers which were all delicious. Then we shared the traditional Fish Plaki as our entree, which was made with sea bass and quite good.
Alexandra Kane — Google review
Very good food (see fish stew explanation), excellent service, beautiful view, mostly fair prices.. We ate here twice during our stay in Pollonia. The Greek meatballs were so tasty and tender, not dense; the whole shrimp were beautifully prepared. The fish stew, while tasty and fancifully presented, does need to be reworked. As some other reviews have mentioned, the title is confusing. They bring out the fresh fish to show you what is going in your stew. The dish is then brought to the table in 2 parts-a pot with creamy fish broth and the now cooked whole fish along with delicious potatoes and carrots. The server (she is so sweet) debones each fish (but it doesn't get all of them!). You then can combine all of the parts. It is quite good, but dealing with the process (gets cold) and the bones is not as enjoyable as just eating a nice bowl of fish stew presented to you 'ready to eat'. Also, the price is a bit much as you are charged by the weight and type of fish used. In my humble opinion, it would be easier for the restaurant and diners to just price it by the bowl and deliver it 'ready to eat'.

Captain Zeppos is more dreamy than photos can suggest. We will never forgot Michail, the incredibly stylish, but cozy furnishings and decor, and delicious cocktails overlooking the stunning views in Pollonia. Thank you Michail and your lovely staff for making memories we will never forget❤️
Liana Kontenis-Moore — Google review
We booked the top sunset suite for 3 nights for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time. Michail, the owner, personally picked us up from the airport as well as dropped us off. He was also very helpful in finding activities for us, he helped us rent a car and book a boat tour, both were very important in seeing the beauty of this island. We had a fantastic time and recommend this hotel to anyone. Milos is incredibly beautiful and there is so much to see here

Really great place for a relaxed vacation, awesome service. They help you as much as they can. Great bar, even though it closes early, which makes it a quiet place.
Sander Stals — Google review
My boyfriend and I stayed 7 nights at Captain Zeppos and had a lovely time! If you are looking for quiet secluded luxury this is the place to stay. The staff are lovely and super helpful, answering "yes of course" whenever you ask for anything! Service is prompt and they are always happy to help you. My favorite part about the hotel is the location. Swimming at the back of the hotel and a short walk to the best restaurants after. True boutique hotel experience!

What a lovely place ! 🤗 Everything is just great, the view, the location, the rooms, the service. They do everything to make you feel comfortable.

Our family of 8 (6 adults and 2 small children) stayed at Captain Zeppos when visiting Milos. This is hands down the best hotel we have ever stayed at in all of our travels. Michail is a top notch host and his employees are the kindest people you will meet. Michail helped us arrange 4 buggies for our stay, our transfers to and from and the port, restaurants, and places to visit around the island. The rooms were picture perfect and clean. We stayed in the white house. It is in the sweetest village of Pollonia with restaurants and shopping only steps away. Major shoutout to Victoria (who not only made amazing drinks) but who helped us more times than we can count. This hotel is super family friendly. The small children (5 & 7) are still talking about Captain Zeppos and how they want to go back. We will definitely return one day 🙂

Captain Zeppos is an amazing place. The location, room decor, common area, but most of all the people; Michal, Sophie, Victoria and Sophia!!! They treat you like family. Victoria is an amazing bartender and overall wonderful young lady! We could not be happier with our stay. From the pickup at the airport to checkout and leaving the car at the port, they made everything so easy. If you are looking, stop! Just book Captain Zeppos. You will not be disappointed!!!

What a little treasure! We adored our time at Captain Zeppos. The views over the Aegean were breathtaking. Amazing hospitality, incredible cocktails, impeccable decorating, comfortable, immaculate accommodations. Not a negative about this place! Took the kayaks out for a quick ride which I highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back to visit!
Lindsey Hasham — Google review
Captain Zeppos is beautiful and lovely. It has a great location on the island and is steps away from the ocean (I think 3) and many charming restaurants (more like 15 or 20 steps) while still feeling secluded. Michail, the owner is very helpful and kind. He did at times come onto our balcony and directly into our suite and rooms unannounced while we were home, and once when the remote for our air conditioner was missing, he proudly announced that he found it in my bag, which was a bit odd that he dug around in my suitcase and clothes without asking, but fair enough that he found it there I guess. The jacuzzi in the main suite is also basically a plunge pool - they insist you keep it at 27 C and it takes 8 hours to warm up, so don't expect to get much use out of it. The views are really unbeatable though, with a lovely deck over the ocean where you can go for a swim in a protected cove, service is great, they give you a few nice treats for the kitchen, all of Michails recs ended up being incredible, and it’s a beautiful place, so overall good stay.

Truly there are no words that do justice to the hotel and to the hospitality we were treated to. The property is stunning in the most incredible location in Pollonia.. close to restaurants and the beach and a short drive to everything else Milos has to offer! Michail and his team are exceptional … so welcoming and nothing was a bother … Victoria at the bar was delightful and Kosta gave us the most fabulous orientation.. boat tour and car were organized for us by Michail and did not fail to please! We will recommend to all our family and friends and hope we have the good fortune to visit at Captain Zeppos again!

Would highly recommend this incredibly luxury boutique hotel to anyone, and would recommend Milos as an island BECAUSE this hotel is here
Maria Gershuni — Google review
I stayed at Capt. Zeppos for 3 nights in April 2023. The staff was so nice and helpful. This location is steps away from a lovely seafood restaurant and breakfast cafe. Many places were still closed but those two places was enough for food. The pool was a nice dip after getting into much colder Agean waters just feet away from the hotel. Every room has the latest upgrades, bio-friendly soaps, and tolietries. This place was by far my most relaxing stay of my trip and I highly recommend it!
Brittany Wassmer — Google review
Cannot recommend this beautiful place highly enough ✨ The while building is styled in simple but elegant white wash with black and raffia accents designed by Michail himself. Costas gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants and things to do on the transfer from the airport and Victoria makes amazing cocktails, conversation, and had lots of recommendations too! We felt like we were staying with friends 😊 We booked a private boat tour (Nikos was our captain and was excellent!!) and rented a car through the hotel which was easy and the prices were fair. Renting a car makes it much easier to see the island and they have automatic transmission options if you need. We stayed in the Rose Suite which had a kitchenette with a little nespresso and fridge, excellent water pressure, a little private covered balcony that looks onto the little church with a peek out to the sea. The welcome basket has all you need for light breakfasts which you will probably want to enjoy on the Sun loungers by the pool. Overall we’re a bit worried it’s not going to get any better from here and were sad to leave so soon.

The restaurant's reputation for high quality cuisine featuring local flavors with a unique twist sets it apart from others in the area.
A great choice in the area of pollonia. It is very quality, the tastes are local with a unique touch. The service it is probably the best in the island. Highly recommended!

All seafood only local restaurant. Got the local catch, which was swordfish, and octopus main course - both were wonderful. Very good house wine. Excellent service. Much better then any of the restaurants next door that we tried the nights after - its not cheap but its worth it!
Andreea Seicean — Google review
Fish tavern didn't actually have any fish. Calamari was bitter and burnt - when we told them they just shrugged. People at the next table also had a problem with their food - they were given drinks on the house but we weren't. They eventually agreed to take it off the bill but were really grumpy about it. There are much better places to eat in Pollonia...

If you're in the mood for some fresh seafood then head to Yialos. The restaurant has a very contemporary and seasonal menu, with dishes like orzotto made with cuttlefish ink, prawn tartare, or chicken stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes standing out. You can also grill your steak exactly how youd like it here, and the desserts are equally good.
Wonderful dining experience on the water. Great meat options here as they (allegedly) have a family farm with sourced pork, etc. We got the surf and turf with pig neck which was awesome and all the dishes were prepared very well. They use the Sous Vide and dont hide it which I respect. Tough to beat the atmosphere and cooled off nicely in the evening. Call ahead and get a reservation since its very busy.

The food was excellent - really tasty sardines, we had seafood spaghetti which was also really delicious and a salad - again really good. The sardines and the prawns in the seafood pasta had this Smokey flavour which was amazing. All in all would recommend - it’s just a little pricey I think compared to other places.

Very good restaurant. Staff is very nice and the views are to the bay of Pollonia. The food was also good but the best dish we ordered was the desert. An incredible chocolate mousse! If you go to this restaurant you must order it!! Delicious!

Another 5 star restaurant in Milos!! This restaurant will not disappoint 😋. Friendly atmosphere and fast service. Everything we ordered was, well, Greek Gourmet!!
Lorraine Sclavounos — Google review
Recommended by the hotel owner. It was a gem. We tried the zucchini pie and grilled calamari. Both were fantastic, and the components gelled well together. Highly recommend the grilled calamari. It has a sauce on the side (seems like squid ink), which was delicious. You can tell its popularity by comparing the dinner crowd with other restaurants on the same street. The service staff was friendly and helpful but could have been more attentive.

I ate THE best fried squid and THE best gnocchi I’ve ever had in the this restaurant and I’ve had a lot of both all round the world. Had a delicious glass of Greek white wine as well. Highly recommend.

Unexpected experience in Pollonia. The restaurant is an island classic half inside, half on the verge of the sea. The menu is top, you can find all the classic, revisited as contemporary. The fish and meat are super fresh and tasty. The service is professional and nice. The wine list important and very Greek, as should be. I ate here twice, I definitely go back. Tks. Enjoy.

We happened to pass by Yialos while walking through town and the location, view and menu appealed to us directly. You can sit directly by the sea and have a view of the adjacent beach. So we decided to have lunch here. We can only agree with the many good reviews that we read afterwards. Everything was fabulous: from the food, to the hospitality of the staff, to the ambiance. Everything was just right. We had as a main course excellent grilled sardines, with a very tasty lemon sauce and seafood pasta. On a sailing trip the next day, the restaurant was highlighted by the guide as a good seafood restaurant and we were glad to have discovered it by chance.

Excellent service, gorgeous dishes and beautiful decor. Right at the seafront and we managed to get a table early in the evening but better get your booking in. Lovely atmosphere with the boats and sea view in Pollonia.

Wonderful spot. The chickpea with cod starter blew us away - we'd never had anything like this and for something that sounded so simple it had a huge amount of flavor. We've tried to recreate this ever since. So good. The lobster spaghetti was rich and luxurious. I appreciated that they were able to let me request how much lobster I wanted for my dish. You can't get much better than the view and quality of food here.

One of my favourite restaurant in Greece so far. Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious. I had the zucchini pie, the grilled sardines, the fried calamari and the gnocchi it was very good and so was the service! Thank you!
Noura Rammal — Google review
Best restaurant we’ve been to in Milos, a bit more of a fine dining experience than other places where they serve the traditional cuisine, which is also very exquisite by the way. Make sure to reserve a table as waiting lines are common, even in end-season. Service gets a 4 for me, but that’s solely because it’s so busy and drink orders get forgotten. Food is delicious, we decided to end our vacation here after we had already been there previously, just because it was an amazing experience for our taste buds the first time.
Angelo Cucovaz — Google review
Lovely setting. A few veggie appetiser options, not main courses. We enjoyed all of them! The courgette tart was especially tasty, and the aubergine salad dip was excellent and smoky.

Yialos was stunning beginning to end. We got lost in the food because each dish was more delicious than the last. We had the tuna tartare which was slightly spicy with some jalapeño followed by the BEST fried calamari I have ever had in my life. We then had the seafood spaghetti which was cooked to perfection. For our Main, we selected a fish and had it prepared in the baked preparation with potatoes, tomatoes, and olives…YUM. Just a beautiful setting for some beautiful food.
Benjamin Hammer — Google review
Very good restaurant, the food was lovely! We really enjoyed everything we got there. The only thing that wasn't very good, was that our personal waiter was not very professional considering the prices of the restaurant. He was moody and and not very attentive.
Daniela Dounetas — Google review
The food was okay - calamari had a nice breading and the scallops were well cooked (you only get three). Our issue was service. We needed to go to the airport to catch our flight and despite asking three people who said they would bring our check, it took over 20 minutes to pay. Didn’t love the staff taking breaks to smoke right next to our table. Views were nice.

Rifaki is a seafood restaurant in Pollonia that serves amazing food and provides great value for money. The staff is wonderful, and the large portions will satisfy even the most hungry diner. The view of the sea from the dining area is stunning, and guests can enjoy Greek hospitality at its best while enjoying some delicious seafood.
This was one of the best meals we had in Greece!!We got the mussels and the flower shrimp pasta! The server was also the best and very accommodating.

We had a very nice dinner! Greek 🥘 paella to share as starters and mussels with feta and Ouzo (all super yummies) while the calamari with broccoli were still too hard they had to be cooked longer to become tender but flavours were nice.

TDLR;; Save your $$ and try elsewhere would be our tip! We ended up here after wandering around, not able to get a table early at our first choices in the area and thought the location looked beautiful as they had space with feet in the sand! Starting with the quick part, the pros… Location: Beautiful, if you’re able to be near the water like we were. Feet in the sand, but nothing to do with the restaurant tbh Staff: Friendly and courteous, although not great service. Didn’t check on us at all, and had to walk up to the main area to get the bill. Cons… The food! Overpriced and not worth the money spent on seafood. The calamari was dry and rubbery… potentially frozen. And the fish, not amazing. Wouldn’t recommend/ eat here again 🙁

Amazing food, very high quality and value for money. Large portions, unique taste, great view by the sea. The staff was awesome, all of them, very kind and helpful. Greek hospitality at its best. We will most certainly visit it again, it is officially one of our best choices for seafood!

Great delicious food and outstanding service! We waited and wasted 1,5 hours for the Yalous and left upset after we were treated by the rude host of that restaurant. We stumbled upon Rifaki, where we were welcomed like a family member, seated on the beach by the water and ordered locals favorites dishes that became ours. EVERYTHING we ordered was DELICIOUS! MUSSELS in feta ouzo sauce, anchovies, juicy and perfectly cooked bifteki, souvlaki, Dakos salad, baked feta in phyllo dough, calamari. Don’t waste your time going to other restaurants in Pollonia, just go straight to Rifaki. We ended up being disappointed or not impressed with other establishments for food, drinks, and dining that we ended up coming back to this place 3 times to forget the negative experiences. Also I recommend you to ask for Nikita server. From the first moment, he was nothing but a delight and amazing, honest person to have conversations and all his tips, recommendations were good for the things to try, see, visit in the Milos island.

This was the first restaurant we went to dinner to on Milos, and we loved it! We got the Grilled squid salad , which came as a whole squid with a delicious creme & also the Mousaka which was equally delicious, plus a bottle of the house red wine. Eric our waiter made us feel very welcome and he was very attentive and warm and made the suggestion of the squid, which didn't disappoint. We were then offered desert which was lemon yoghurt with cherry and biscuit crumb, which topped off our dinner beautifully. My wife and I couldn't recommend this restaurant more! Thank you Rifaki

We chose this place for lunch on one of our afternoons in Apollonia. The view is amazing. I had an opportunity to try a local beer from the island which was quite good. We also shared the Greek potato salad which was 10/10. I had the shrimp linguine which was just okay. The shrimp were delicious but the pasta was lackluster. My friend had mushroom risotto.
