Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi

Mentioned on
Baseball field
Sights & Landmarks
Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi, a 23,000-seat baseball stadium, has been the home of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles since 1950. The stadium offers an exciting opportunity to watch amazing games and even meet and greet players from the home team. Additionally, it features box seats ideal for groups and a small adjacent amusement area called Smile Glico Park.
Always lovely to be in a baseball stadium in Japan. Though it happens to be our favourite team, it is a real pleasure seeing the crowd cheering as supporters for their team.

樂天金鷲 home field. Small, cosy, but it has everything. Hope I could visit this ballpark during the baseball season

Probably the biggest baseball stadium in Sendai? Certainly the most lively one!
Kemal AR — Google review
If you’re new to baseball and Sendai, I highly recommend watching a baseball game here the crowds electric and the atmosphere is amazing. You’ll definitely see why baseball is Japan’s pastime.

Tons of food vendors and a lot of stuff to do around the park especially for kids. Excellent 👌
Joseph Vasser — Google review
can enjoy it other than watching a baseball game! My mother got on the ferris wheel!

Formally Kleenex Stadium. This is a fairly large, family friendly, clean stadium. Transportation to the stadium drops you off right off in front of the stadium on game days and nearby on other days. The Sendai track and field stadium is located right next door making for a very wide, open venue with a very diverse crowd.

Go Rakuten Eagles! It's fun experience watching them play up close! We enjoyed the food and beer!

Nice stadium. Sat in left outfield (1500 yen). Eagle tower looked like it might be fun place to sit. Chairs slightly uncomfortable. Maybe bring cushion.
Isaac J — Google review
Cool ball park and good atmosphere, helps when the home team wins! Lots of food and pretty good view from the cheap seats.

Tohoku History Museum

Museums
Tohoku History Museum is a modern facility showcasing artifacts extracted from local sites, along with an Edo-era farmhouse. It's an excellent destination for history enthusiasts who can borrow the free English audio guide to learn about Japan's history from prehistoric times to contemporary era. The museum is conveniently located next to Tagajo Station and offers reasonable entrance fees.
Amazing place if you are a history buff. I absolutely loved it! You can borrow the English audio guide for free and learn in detail about the history of Japan from the stone age to the modern era. Easy access from Sendai Station because the museum is just next to the Tagajo Station. The entrance fee is quite reasonable too. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

An impressive building with a good exhibition area. It lacks the wow factor for a five star rating but is worth a visit. I imagine that one to two hours is sufficient to see everything. Outside are some relocated historic buildings which are very good.
Marcus Wallis — Google review
The museum is surrounded by sakura trees and a little lake. It is also next to a nature and historical trail so it's a good place for leisurely, educational, historical...you get the drift. Come here for coffee and ice cream while overlooking the scenery.
Heidi Ng — Google review
Excellent museum! All main exhibits about yhe History of Tohoku are in multiple languages (including english) Special exhibitions are typically only in Japanese. Highly recommend taking an hour or two and visiting while you're in the area!
Mike Lickers — Google review
Great little museum at a good price! Most of the displays had English translations which is great for forign visitors like myself. There's also a really neat outside area with a few old school style buildings. There was a man who worked there tending a fire in that area who spoke with me. Even though I don't spreak much Japanese he was very patient and kind to me, which I really appreciated.
Brennan Dougherty — Google review
This is actually quiet a beautiful museum. I has a complete package of museum, a garden, an old traditional house, library, children corner. Although not seems to be recommended probably due to many better spot surrounding it such as matsushima, this museum in my opinion deserves a visit, especially if you like history stuffs.
Anung Riapanitra — Google review
The main exhibit is pretty good; the Lascaux Caves exhibit was kind of weak - not much explanation and they fluffed it up with quite a bit of filler.

Awesome Museum. Very informative, very interesting and accessible to English speakers too. Loved the exhibit on the restoration and preservation of the artifacts.

Michi-no-Eki Kitsuregawa

Toll road rest stop
Shopping
The Michi-no-Eki Kitsuregawa is a rest stop located in Sakura city. While not very large, it offers a variety of amenities to make your road trip comfortable, including toilets with a nappy changing area, vending machines, and a food court with freshly baked bread and other dishes. Additionally, there are souvenirs available for purchase and even a foot spa for relaxation.
I love Kitsuregawa michi-no-eki onsen because it has just the right balance to welcome people who are visiting from out of town, while being very comfortable for locals. The onsen pools are not very large, but all guests usually can fit. There is an indoor pool and outdoor on both sides as well as a cold water tank you can submerge in. The water is usually 42 degrees, which I find to be the right temperature to enjoy for a long time without getting overly hot. The sauna is very popular. If you don't want to go to the onsen, there is a foot bath onsen outside that anyone can use. In the footbath you can actually make onsen eggs in a special corner of this building. The exercise pool has been closed for several years since the corona virus pandemic began. I have not heard yet when it will reopen.

One of Road side services with Free footbath and Hmt Spring Spa. Of course, a local shop and a small restaurant are there.

Kitsuregawa is a Roadside station in Sakura city. Its not particularly large, but it has everything you need for a rest on a road trip. Toilets including a nappy changing area, vending machines, food court with freshly baked homemade breads and other food, souvenirs. It even has a foot spa. Its beside a riverside park which has a nice playground.
Lynda Hogan (InSaitama) — Google review
Onsen and sauna are small, but there are many (perhaps local) people even on a weekday, and some of them use the washing space and sauna for a long time. The quality of onsen itself is good, though.

(Translated by Google) There weren't many types of bento boxes, and I felt like the rice ball shops and fried chicken were very expensive. You can take your dog for a walk along the waterfront, but some people don't take their dog's poop home with them, which was unpleasant. There was also a dog run, although it didn't look very nice. I love Agodashi, so I bought it as a souvenir. A video will be played in the bathroom around sunset 😊 (Original)

(Translated by Google) It's not that this store is bad, but it's quite inconvenient that they only sell portable cans until 6pm, and some people are getting angry, so I hope they do something about it. Looks like I can't buy it anymore. It was a holiday event, and there were two or three vehicles with the fuel filler in the opposite direction, and the staff there were guiding them, so they were able to enter regardless of the fuel filler. It seemed difficult to refuel. I had a chance to talk to the staff, and I pointed it out, but did they understand? The person in charge here seems to be lacking, and am I the complainer? Next time you go there, please don't stop the gas station to see my face! It's very crowded on holidays, and I'm afraid I'll run into some kind of trouble if it's especially crowded here, so I'll try to go on a different day and time. (Translated by Google) Today I was able to see places that are usually not open to the public. I learned a lot from the lectures given by new employees. He explained things in a very easy-to-understand manner, and even though it has only been 4 months since I was assigned, I was impressed with how well he understood me. Also, the atmospheric reentry test site looks amazing. Is it possible to reproduce the conditions at the time of atmospheric entry? That's probably why it makes such a terrible noise. It was all very interesting. However, although there were quite a few snack stalls, the only menu that could be considered lunch was curry and rice, and what's more, it never came out after ordering and paying. I wish the kitchen car would be more efficient. Moreover, many menus are sold out. How many meals did you prepare? I understand that it is hot and difficult, but I feel that those who open stores should also take responsibility. It was a very good event, so I hope they will focus more on this next time. (Translated by Google) Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I made a reservation in advance for the "Hayabusa 2 Return Capsule Exhibition." Of course, I was looking for a sample recovered from Ryugu, but I was disappointed as there was only one sample with a magnifying glass and no analysis results. The contents of the exhibition are mainly pictures with a sense of self-satisfaction on the part of the organizer, which is common in science exhibitions of this kind, and JAXA is doing something amazing if they do not arrange the exhibits in an order and explain them in a way that the general public can understand. It's a shame that it ended like that. It is said that government offices are slow to move because there are still smoking areas in detached buildings between exhibition buildings.
