(Translated by Google) Very nice service in the restaurant. We ate the large menu, homemade from our own products. We enjoyed it wonderfully and it was very filling. The subsequent visit to the oil mill was included in the price of €50! (Translated by Google) The House of happiness ! A shaded terrace, lined with flowers and birds, for a great moment of pleasure and indulgence. Quiet, family atmosphere and lovely people. We tried the “truffle” menu for 50 euros, for dishes with truffles, nuts, and duck with a glass of wine and coffee. Excellent homemade and straight from their production! Very good value for money. Little extra: visits to the truffle farm and the walnut eco-museum are free if you taste the menu. Little digestive nap under the walnut trees possible 🥰🤗 (Original) La maison du bonheur !

(Translated by Google) Unforgettable experience. Warm welcome, bucolic and enchanting setting. We wanted to discover the Walnut Museum and we discovered this unique place. Very high quality local products cooked simply, which further highlights the flavors of the dishes. We will certainly repeat the experience during our next stay in Périgord.

We wish you only the best for your restaurant Alexandra and Thibaud and their little dog. (Translated by Google) Excellent welcome, but the prices are high (and I'm not just talking about truffle products). In addition, the restaurant is in a magnificent setting, but it is difficult to take advantage of it because the entire terrace is surrounded by a fairly high concrete railing.

Many thanks for this meal. And the visit to the eco-museum was very enriching. Nothing to complain about and an address that I highly recommend. French restaurant
Restaurant Le Tournepique is located in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, France and has received high praise from visitors. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes such as poellee de Saint-Jacques, basquaise omelette, merlu to Spanish, paella (which needs to be booked in advance), rigatoni, pork dishes, snacks, sushi menus and seafood. The restaurant also features a bar with an extensive selection of drinks.
Had a super meal - Piquillos stuffed with salt cod on a very lovely rich tomatoe & garlic sauce - followed by Tartare de Boeuf with homemade chips cooked in beef fat. Excellent service and a lovely table looking up to the castle, across to the bridge and down onto the river. Thank you for having looked after us so well.

We had the menu Perigordin, great food and good value. Steak was excellent.

Such a nice staff. The food is good! A good menu with a great variety of choices. Great view!
Alicia Carrillo — Google review
Great location and delicious food. Very attentive service and the views are amazing. Very reasonably priced. We had the Tapas appetizer it’s more than enough for two. And grilled mussels and a combo fish dish. Everything was outstanding. Very Authentic Spanish.
Diana Medvedeff — Google review
We had a table in the open section towards the river looking up to the Chateau above. This made it a really lovely place to sit and eat. We booked in advance which I think helped. Food was very good. The food was extremely tasty, basque origins as we had the tapas menu. Starters were wonderful. The main courses were good but maybe a little samey as the starters so the flavours had worn off on us a little. Our daughter had the chicken nuggets and chips which she said was very good. My only issue which we didn't realise was the children's menu main course is delivered with the starter. Had we known we would have asked for it to come with the mains. This meant our daughter didn't have anything when we were entourage mains. In hindsight that is what I would change. Overall very good.

We dropped in on a rainy afternoon and were warmed by a burner and hearty Basque food. A light cheery space with the river and a chateau on view. Take your time. There’s a lot of food. And don’t skip dessert.

This is a must if you want to experience one of the best burgers you will ever taste - truly exceptional. The non burger options are great too with very friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Our daughter can be tricky to cater for but she loved the breaded chicken for lunch and decided to try a simplified version of their chicken burger on a second visit and said it was the best burger she had ever eaten. Looking forward to returning in the future.

We came here to eat some food. Only information on Internet stated that it was open untill 18.00 hours. We were VERY hungry because all the restaurants were closed in the afternoon (very weird custom). So we ordered two beers. After the beers came we asked for the food menu. And then the waiter stated they don't serve food, only crepes. The whole website is full of food pictures but they don't sell food at 14.00 in the afternoon. Very bad experience. We left hungry.

It's rare finding a good tiramisu, but here not only was well presented but even exceptionally good. The view of the castle from the panoramic terrace is really top notch.

Very enjoyable meal here. Didn't expect too much as it seems like a crepes/glaces sort of place, but they did a really delicious burger and a lovely goat's cheese salad. Generous ice cream portions for dessert with a good selection.
Lewis Brooke — Google review
Started with a cafe au lait, then had the best burger ever with delicious fries (with ketchup and mayo yum!), and freshly made tiramisu for dessert. The view was pretty great too. Mmmmm craving that burger... 😍😍😍

We had a lovely lunch here in February sitting outside on the nice terrace. The food was superb, a duck potato pie and a baked Camembert both with excellent salad. The children’s menu was very reasonably priced and good quality. Service was friendly and attentive.

It is not the normal tourist restaurant under the castle, but an excellent restaurant, with traditional dishes and an excellent house wine. Have lunch here before going up to the fortress.

(Translated by Google) Delicious food for an affordable price! Also good and fast service! And put a new carafe (tap water) on the table when they notice that it is empty.

We stopped off here on a very hot day of sightseeing in the area. We did arrive at a ‘funny’ time -3PM, so not lunch and not yet dinner. We decided to take a seat on the terrace and order some of the ice cream bowls from the main menu. They were priced at around €8 per bowl which is about average for similar in other restaurants. The desserts were very nice, the terrace was pleasant but our waiter was quite unfriendly and rude (even by French standards).

Restaurant
Located in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, France, Restaurant La Plage is a favorite spot for visitors to relax after exploring the nearby castle. The beach is perfect for families with young children due to its calm waters and shallow depth. The restaurant offers a beautiful setting in the village's market square, with views of the medieval castle and the Dordogne River. While the food is good and reasonably priced, it's more of a family-friendly tourist restaurant than a fine dining establishment.
We went twice to eat there in the evening and for ice creams in the afternoon. The hamburgers are delicious, pizzas also, and the ice creams super. We wish to thank and draw attention to the fact that our 8 year old grandson forgot his wallet (with his year’s savings) hanging on a chair. We only realized the next afternoon and they had kept it waiting for someone to recover it. THANK YOU!!! What a relief,

The setting is in the beautiful market square of the village, overlooked by the medieval castle and bordered by the magnificent Dordogne. Superb! Our food was good (not great), reasonably priced, efficiently served. Hard to fault, and yet the location has the potential to offer so much more. It's an ideal family tourist restaurant (with some locals too) but not fine dining. We will definitely return!

Terrible service, incredibly rude staff. No one came to take our order (I was with my wife and 4 year old son). When my wife went up to a member of staff to ask if she could order, the response (in English) was ‘no, only in French’. Steer clear of this place.

La Petite Tonnelle is a french restaurant in the heart of Périgueux with delicious food and friendly staff. The prices are very good, making it an excellent value for money option.
Absolutely amazing. The food was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly. I can't speak more highly of a restaurant. I food really was incredible and the prices I thought were really good. A beautiful venue too.

I can't appreciate enough this place because they were open 1 of January. If you can imagine that miracle happened, it's restaurant in France what works in this day. Thank you a lot for your service and food. Smocked salmon is just excellent (home made by chef), duck was nice ( a little bit dry like for me, but compensated by veggies), roulade was good (my husband like it). On my opinion: service/price/quality fair. Service friendly. And again, thank you for your job and service.

I walked in earlier in the night before they opened, and they made a reservation for me. I had a very warm welcome. The food looked beautiful and tasted fresh and delicious. The dishes came out at the perfect times. The staff all had smiles and seemed happy and were very accommodating by speaking English to me because although I try, I speak very little french. I had a wonderful evening and walked away happy and content. Additionally: I stayed in town for 3 nights and ate here every night. I tried many dishes and they were constantly beautiful and each one was delicious. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always brought every dish at the right time, with a smile. They were a very important part of why I had such an unforgettable stay in Benyac-et-Cazenac. I wish I could stay longer. P.S. I did not add photos of the other dishes I ate because I was too busy enjoying them.

A pleasant shady terrace on a side street. Friendly and efficient staff. The food was excellent and the menu “Liberte” offered some refreshing variety from all the normal tourist restaurants. We had the prawn risotto as a starter and the pork belly and sweet breads as a main - all were delicious and very well cooked. I highly recommend and would definitely return.

Superb setting, fantastic welcome and excellent lunch with attentive service. Definitely recommend and we will absolutely be returning, soon! The Smoked Salmon is incredible.

Very pretty setting with a view on one of the prettiest streets- the food is very good and friendly service- Tartare , Foie gras, salade perigourdine (was huge), and the poached egg with escargots ….. all good Desserts are not as great as the rest of the meal- particularly the mango praline was a bit disappointing.
Brigitte Martin — Google review
Hidden gem in Perigord. We came to this restaurant by pure luck. And we were lucky! This is a place where you know the owner loves food and they cook with love. They also like customers to be happy because they are friendly and welcoming. Although the place was packed we got the table anyway. Their 3 course set lunch was 27 euro and a few more for 4 course. Their duck gizzard salad was surprisingly very good! Every dish was made with love. Creme brulee was smooth with the most delicate scent that didn't smell like vanilla and more like a flower. We were so happy to have found this place.
Bernie Wipuchanin — Google review
Je comprends c'est l'hiver, mais.. I was seated alone, upstairs, in a corner. I could hear people on the main level talking, eating, enjoying. I don't understand why I wasn't allowed to enjoy the main dining room also. Le verre de vin blanc was terrible..worse than the cheapest wines to be found in the States. Like vinegar. The food was not of good quality. The mushrooms had dirt or sand in them. The other vegetables were from a frozen grocery store bag. The duck leg had no seasoning and no sauce. I have visited many parts of France in my life, so I am well-versed in French dining at most levels. I spoke to them in French, I asked if it was too late for lunch, and I ate quickly. I tried my best; I never want to be the ugly American, but in many visits to France, this was the first time I desperately wanted to leave during l'entrée and go someplace else.

Lovely setting and excellent meal. I had a special of cod fillet with risotto, and my friend had a lamb dish that was seasoned perfectly and had beautiful flavour. The service was a little slow at first (long wait for a glass of water even though it was 34°) but still recommended overall.

Very glad that we stumbled upon this restaurant. Food was very delicious, the staff very friendly and attentive even though we don’t speak any French. The price is almost a bargain. Be careful when you order the menu “Liberty”, the portions are really big. They even brought our dog water without us asking. We had such a great time the first time we went back the next day again.
