This restaurant is absolutely above average of all other restaurants in Colico. It is just outside the city center. Not too flashy, not too elegant, not too many embroideries inside the plates. But a surprising cuisine, an unmissable tasting menu and an excellent house wine, focus on quality. Then wonderful organization of the menus and tables, splendid service, in a beautiful location. I rarely give 5 stars but tonight they are all deserved. Thank You staff!

Eating here was such a beautiful experience the view of Lake Como under the beautiful canopy of trees is stunning and the food was spectacular! It was so good to try authentic traditional food from this region. The fried cheese balls are a must, locals order a plate each and the Valtellina pasta was such a good comfort food! Worth the walk from the train station if you don’t have a car

We look forward to coming here when we stay in Colico. I have made friends with one of the servers who is gold stars across the board. The food is excellent, the view is spectacular. Note, reservations should be made anywhere in this area.

I won’t recommend this place, the braised deer stew was tasting like 2 years ago living in the freezer before, cold cuts and cheese from the supermarket and straight in the place 🤣….. thats not all, but we got on our table the salt, pepper, olive oil at our table when we was finishing the main courses, probably we would use it for the desserts that we didn’t order. Success to that restaurant

The view in this restaurant overlooking the mountains and the lake is stunningly beautiful. The staff was great and the food came fairly quickly. I ordered the normal bruschetta as an appetizer and it tasted fantastic. The bread was crispy but not too hard and went great with the fresh and flavourfull tomatoes. For the main course I ordered the surf burger which contained smoked salmon and it was a very unique item. If you like smoked salmon I think you would really enjoy this burger. The fries that came with the burger were crispy and tasted great. Others in my group ordered steak and while it tasted great I would say it missed sauce. Another in my group ordered pasta and the portion was too small in my opinion. Overall a good experience with some smaller problems.

Very impressed! We came late on a friday evening and they found the table for us! Everything combined is such a magical experience- the food, the view point and perfect service!

So impressed by this place in such a small town. Ajo was excellent. The burgers were fantastic and they offer a great gluten free bun. The carbonara burger especially. The steak was shockingly delicious. The gnocchi wasn’t great. I don’t know that I have ever eaten with a better view.

Ajò griglieria is an excellent option for meat lovers. With privileged location right beside the lake, you can enjoy your drinks and meal while appreciating the extraordinary landscape. We had a caprese hamburger and schnitzel with fries, tasty!

Best restaurant in Domaso if you are done with the typical Pizza and Pasta. 😉 Their choice of burgers is great and the food quality definitely good. The ambient on the terrace directly along the shore of Lake Como makes this place really nice and unique in a town like Domaso. While it's a little bit on the pricier side compared to Pizza or Pasta it's definitely worth every cent when staying in the Sondrio area.

A lovely little restaurant, with a fantastic view of the lake (we were lucky to see a rainbow). The food is good and the waiter promptly moved someone who decided to smoke at the table next to us, without us needing to ask. If you want a table on the lake side it's best to book in advance.

Best spot in the area for having a relaxed and pleasant dinner. Great views, amazing food + affordable prices and very nice friendly staff. Always recommendable to book in advance to avoid waiting. 100% recommendable.

Meal was good. Only problem was the bad organization of staff that we waited quite long time to take order. I would not expect it once there is serving fee 2,5 EUR per person.

Just wonderful Italian food! The antipasti platter is perfectly made for sharing and includes all Italian classics at a reasonable price. The pizza was made well with tasty ingredients. The staff is absolutely welcoming and attentive! We arrived after a long drive in the late evening around 2130h. The restaurant was even this late in December quite busy, which should be a really good sign!

First time visit to the Restaurant 31/08/2023. This is local small restaurant in a small village in Como lake, with Italian atmosphere. The food is carefully cooked in an excellent manner. It tastes Italian. The house wine is good. Staff/waitress very friendly. Even though the staff does not speak fluently English language, you will find it no difficult to communicate and order, as they do anything possible to help you and choose the right food. Great service. Reasonable prices/not expensive. Thumb UP! Highly recommended.

My individual experience was sad :( I see comments saying waiters do not speak English, but did anyone mention that they actually pretend as if they understand it. Communication issues and/or lack of common sense. Here is the short story: I asked for recommendation. I ended up ordering two starters and a main dish (served min 2) Too much food for a single person. And recommended main dish was nearly the same as the mixture of two starters :)) That waiter should be in love with potatoes and cheese. Note: I tried to clarify portion sizes beforehand but did not work out. +1 star, food was okay.

Definitely and honestly it has become our restaurant. We live in downtown Como but spend an hour and half to arrive here is PERFECTLY AND TOTALLY RIGHT. We had a fantastic experience at El Mercante despite some language barriers. The server provided the menu in English but neither our Italian nor his English was the greatest. The “starters” were part of the prix fix menu and included some pickled vegetables, fried mozzarella “shots”, cheesy potatoes, and a lovely charcuterie board. This was a lot of food, but it was all good and we took the leftovers with us. Next up we had a pasta with chunks of pumpkin, it was fantastic. Finally for the second I we had the veal which was very good. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and look forward to going back again to try the risotto!

The restaurant is worth a visit.Very tasty, the portions are quite large. It's a little difficult to understand the menu system, but it's manageable.

Great place for dinner! I spend a few days around The Como Lake and this restuarant was the best! Nice and helpful staff, big portions (you can order a huge plate for 2-3 persons and after you'll be full),all of dishes prepared before serving, great desserts. I strongly recommend this place!

Lovable place with little and quite exclusive rooms. You can find traditional food from Valtellina but also hand made pasta. Portions are generous and the food is amazing. Prices are really good and honest.

We visited this restaurant one week ago. There were five of us and we all had different types of pasta, and that was one of the most disappointing experiences ever. I love Italian cuisine and food is one of the most important factors for me always. Here the only way to eat your pasta was with a knife and fork. For appetizers we took a mix of sliced cheeses and meats, and frankly we bought better products next day in a supermarket. The only reason I give 2 instead of 1 is because we didn’t try pizza, and maybe that is worth of trying, but I don’t think I will ever come back for that.

The food here is really terrible. It was probably the worst pizza that I've ever had. Avoid, unless you like to eat baked cardboard. Staff was nice, though.

We are here for dinner. The staffs are friendly and quick to take order. The food tasted ok and the grilled food are not burned; the panna cotta tasted good with the sauce but the tiramisu is not as good. We would not say the meal is value for money.

We had a wonderful meal here with our children. The pizza was delicious and the service very good. We speak very limited Italian but they worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. There’s a nice little playground in the outside dining area which was great for the kids.

We had ordered from the daily menu offer and besides of the spaghetti that were ok, the other dishes were small and badly plated. For example 6 pieces of sciatt in a plate and a few peaces of rucola that was well over its freshness. Overall, not recommended

Great place, very nice food, although we don't speak Italian, they were very nice and accommodating. Risotto with sausage, pizza, red wine, beer everything great. Only the crepe with Nutella I found it on the small size, and tiramisu was a bit too sweet for my taste. Great place must visit for authentic Italian food

Great location and nice decor however average food. The sea bass was dry and even though we were told it had no bones we still found many. The lamb chops were nice, chips average and the service average. Prices on the high side.

Excellent Italian food. We had two pizzas (Diavolo and Parma), which were served quickly and by friendly staff in a cosy surrounding. For dessert we had a Tiramisu which i would strongly recommend. The only downside were some mosquitoes which were biting in the evening.

Food was okay, the meat was super, the rest okay. Long waiting times, a place to go to if the top star restaurants (4.5+) are full.. like on a Saturday evening. The service was nice but managed to mess up two orders, wrong pasta and wrong sauce with the meat.
