Rams Head Disley is a traditional village pub with arched interiors, serving a simple menu and featuring an outdoor seating area. It is known to be one of the trendy spots in Altrincham, offering a vibrant atmosphere and an extensive menu inspired by various cuisines. The pub's rooftop tipi provides a sunny retreat for customers to enjoy their meals. Visitors have praised the friendly welcome from Emma and highly recommended the buttermilk chicken burger.
Delicious Sea bass. The best I have had. Great food, company and the staff were so attentive. Desert was good, lots of caramel and chocolate. Will definitely visit again.

Fantastic food! Great atmosphere. Dog friendly. Booking recommended but they did seem to be able to accommodate people just walking in. Food was excellent, service was great and very attentive. We were looked after by Georgia who was excellent. Would happily visit again Ensure you put your reg in at the terminal near the front door!

Big place, conveniently located for walkers and with excellent parking (free for patrons). A friendly welcome, extensive menu and a good variety of food. Kids menu is decent and excellent value for money given the size of the portions. Service was friendly but a bit spotty (shift change had something to do with this I think). Food was excellent, tasty and beautifully cooked. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Overall would definitely recommend.

We visited with 2 young children for lunch and overall enjoyed our visit, albeit with a few issues. The pub is a lovely old building and was warm, cosy and welcoming with log fires. There were some decent real ales on tap. Parking outside is free (remember to register your number plate on arrival though to avoid a ticket). It has a 5/5 food hygiene rating. The food was generally good, and a separate vegan menu was available which was appreciated. Service was a little slow but friendly. The kids had fish and chips but unfortunately this was basically a mass of batter with little fish inside - they left most of it. The adult fish and chips was better but still very light on the fish I felt. Also, the skin was left on the battered fish which is not my personal preference - I accept some people don't mind this but I always end up scraping it off along with half of the batter! The sea bass dish was well cooked. There was a good 'coffee + mini dessert' option. The atmosphere was pleasant and cosy. It's clearly a dog friendly pub - there were at least 3 in when we were there, thankfully with considerate owners. Overall we would return but would probably order different dishes.

Visiting friends who live near here and taken for dinner, booked for 8pm on a Saturday. Greeted at the door, shown to a nice table in the restaurant area; so far so good. After studying the menu for about 10 minutes, a waitress arrived to ask: “Has anyone told you what we haven’t got?”, which turned out to be about 40% of the menu and most of the options that we had already decided upon. We therefore said that we needed more time to decide. Eventually we ordered four starters, four mains and two bottles of wine (red and white). Upon bringing the white wine, the waitress at least realised that it wasn’t chilled enough and said she would get some ice. Unfortunately, she returned with the ice in a metal cooler with the bottle protruding from the top. After leaving it for us to pour, we realised that it was little less than room temperature and therefore asked another waitress to replace it. Before it was returned, our starters arrived. The interval between ordering and their arrival was far too short for them to have been freshly prepared, and we had almost finished them before our white wine returned (at a just about acceptable temperature). My creamy mushroom starter was okay, albeit a little bland. My crab and chorizo linguine was tasty, but a little overpowered by the amount of chorizo. Neither would have been my first or second choices. We ate, we paid, and we even left a tip (because the waitresses were pretty friendly), but this was a poor experience. This place is an historic coaching inn, in a great location, with a lovely outdoor seating area. To brand themselves as a gastropub, however, they need to manage food & wine stocks better and ensure that they have sufficient, suitably-trained staff. The prices were far too high for the services we received.

Went here for lunch and ordered from the £18.75 for 2 courses lunchtime menu. Food ordered was fish and chips (which was a huge fish) and a vegan course roasted celeriac steak. Food was hot and delicious and I can honestly say to all the veggies or vegans the celeriac was divine. We both had apple and raspberry crumble for dessert which looked so lovely I completely forgot to take a photo of it before I'd eaten it. The pub itself was really lovely and the menu choice was great. Will visit again 👌

The Ram's Head is a beautifully country style pub, it's decorated so well and has a large outdoor seating area for the summer months. Lovely place to stop for food and especially on a special occasion (we go on Father's Day). Options for veggies and vegans!

An amazing pub, with great service and a really homely vibe. It is slightly on the expensive side, but it serves really decent food and had a nice warm fire to warm you up after a walk in the countryside. We had a couple of plates instead of main meals and this was a perfect amount of food. There’s a small short-stay car park just around the corner, and it’s not far from the train station.

Went for a tea night for my daughter’s 11th birthday with her friend and service was really good and food was delicious! Came out pretty quickly and looked as good as it tasted! Then when we ordered pudding they came out with a surprise Happy Birthday pudding plate for my daughter which was really lovely and made her night!

Had lunch here today with my husband and his Mum, for my husband’s birthday. We were so impressed and had a lovely time. The menu is full of both traditional choices and some fresh ideas, the atmosphere is pleasant and the layout is well designed. The food was prepared with care and tastes delicious. Service was polite, friendly and well timed. Honestly couldn’t fault it. Thank you! (Special thanks to Nicole and Amber!).

Visited Easter week after a day out at Lyme Park. We were a group of 7 with 3 dogs & were seated in the bar area which was very nice. We ordered from the set lunch menu which was excellent value. Some of our party ordered from the main menu which was also great value. All the meals were very nice & the staff were excellent. Our daughter had sprained her ankle whilst in Lyme Park & the staff went out of their way to make her comfortable, providing an ice pack for her injury. Absolutely recommended….the food is great, the menu is varied & good value. Staff were exceptional, thank you for a great afternoon. We will visit again when we are in the area. 👍🏻👍🏻

Whilst on a break to that part of the country we used your pub after a visit to Lyme Park for a Sunday dinner. The venue was very pleasant. The staff including Amber that served us were very polite and efficient. The Sunday roast was excellent. No complaints at all

What a fabulous first visit. Welcome was lovely from Emma and the food was yummy. Definitely recommend the buttermilk chicken burger. Dog friendly too which is a bonus and the were very accommodating with my friends allergy. A very good experience and will definitely return.

Friendly service throughout, from entering to leaving. Service looked v busy throughout, yet there was no issue with it at any stage. We registered our car upon entering, got a drink at the bar (some shandies) and took them out to the gardens prior to being seated at our table. We got served v quickly and had a roast dinner (duo of beef & trio of meats). Servings were generous (ample meat) and left you feeling full, so much so that we only had one course. The pub seemed to have many different areas including a private function room and a noisy bar area, yet where we were seated was quieter and comfortable. Overall it was a really enjoyable experience and a great feed. Would recommend.

I have only been to Sasso once, but I will definitely return now that I live in the area. The cuisine is outstanding, the service is exceptionally fast, and the staff are extremely friendly. The atmosphere is delightful. Even though I made a last-minute reservation when the kitchen was about to close, they still accommodated me and allowed me to order from the menu without feeling rushed. I will absolutely be coming back! This was my first visit and it exceeded my expectations!!
Lovely Italian restaurant located upstairs Perfect for group or intimate meals together, food was delicious, specials set price menu also

Thankyou so much Sasso! 👏👏👏❤

On the menu they offer a set menu for 12 people or more. I know it was a Saturday night but when we asked can we have the set meal we where told in a very cheeky way that you can't have that!! On a Saturday No where on the set menu does it say you can't have this offer. And after emailing them regarding this in a nice way they have just dismissed the whole thing. Which to me is very poor customer service 😕 Other then that the food they served was nice

We have only visited here once, but we will definitely be back now that we live in the area. The food is incredible, the service is super quick and the staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. We booked in really last minute, when the kitchen was about to close and they still let us come in and order what we wanted off the menu, we felt no pressure to hurry along with both ordering and eating. We will definitely be returning!

Sasso is a place of surprise from the moment you walk in. The external entrance certainly does not relay what you are about to experience as you walk through into the reception floor. Surprisingly there is a staircase in the corner to access the restaurant from the reception room. Not too sure if there is an entrance that is accessible for mobile disadvantage people. Once upstairs and you pass through the bar area which is utilised by the waiters only. The first impression in the dining room is that it seems to have been designed by Doctor Who., Simply because it is huge and not in keeping with the impression having come through a smaller door downstairs off the main street, giving you the immediate impression that it would be a good spot to hold larger party functions it also gives you the impression of eating "alfresco" due to the transparent roof lending a courtyard feel almost authentic to an Italian outdoor restaurant. A fantastic dining space superbly laid out making for a beautiful atmospheric environment. Service was second to none very attentive very polite and very efficient. Coming to the main part which is the food it can only be said this lived up to everything you anticipate from the environment. And in a single word, Superb, with ample portion size. I was there with my family as part of my granddaughter's birthday celebrations. It was my first time visiting but it certainly will not be my last, I feel I have found a new favourite Italian restaurant.

Visited Sasso for the first time as we were visiting friends that live near by, food was fabulous, presented beautifully and tasted as good. So many friends raved about this restaurant that we had to go and try it. I left disappointed. Restaurant nicely decorated but tables packed together. Food very good but not exceptional. I prefer San Carlos. The service was not as it used to be at the original Sassos. It’s lost the personal touch . The young waiter who served us was almost robotic and kept pressing us to order. Watch with the wine if buying by the glass! 2 prices on the menu. Unless you specify what size you want it’s an automatic upsell to large. When challenged as to why the staff don’t check the size the response was everyone drinks large round here, it’s up to you to specify. The attitude left rather a bad taste. In summary. Very expensive for what’s a just above borderline average restaurant with a “chain restaurant” approach to service. It definitely has no personal touch.

The food was incredible - great value and so much choice. We popped in last minute and they accommodated us which was really appreciated! Would recommend the mussels and squid starter, lobster ravioli and sea bass pasta. The only downside is that the outside door doesn’t automatically close so whenever people came in there was a draft, not ideal for a cold November evening! But overall, lovely place to celebrate our anniversary

We came here in November when I was 9 months pregnant and it was a celebration for mine and my brothers birthday. We were a party of 6. We were told we would have the table for 2 hours. The food was good but expensive and we were very unhappy that we were rushed through the entire meal. The people who were taking the table after us arrived early and although we all still had nearly full drinks and people were still picking at food and still had the table for another 30 minutes, the bill was put down in front of us (without us asking) and coats were brought out to us (without us asking) it was incredibly rude and we felt pushed out. It was really uncomfortable. I appreciate that they need to get the table ready but the other party arrived 30 minutes early and we were told we had it for 2 hours. It was terrible service. Definitely won't be returning.

This restaurant was highly recommended by locals, however, I have to admit that I was a little disappointed and we'd never return. We waited for quite a while for drinks service and to place our orders, they seemed to want to serve larger groups first, who arrived after us. The staff were lovely, friendly and really professional, but Mr Chong himself seemed stressed, inpatient and grumpy! To start I had Satay Chicken Skewers. The consistency of the chicken was sinewy and stringy, it was very unpleasant. I struggled to eat them, they were quite revolting. For main I had the Salt & Pepper Chicken, which was literally a plate full of rock hard, crunchy, dry coatings, I couldn't quite find any succulent chicken anywhere? Expensive, especially the soft drinks. The food was poor. Atmosphere was nice but I would not recommend.

We arrived with a queue in front oh no, but it was a big party awaiting more once I asked a waiter table for two for us we were immediately took to our table and the service didn’t stop all night our Waiter was superb he didn’t let me touch our wine he was there always to pour, even one handed as carrying menus as it was busy the food and atmosphere was great but I have to say the service was the best I’ve had in a long time faultless our visit was 6.1.24 8pm for 2

Frankies Wine Bar is a fantastic venue for hosting special events. Customers have had a wonderful time celebrating birthdays and found the booking process to be hassle-free, with options for food and drinks easily organized. The bar's collaboration with a local balloon company ensures that the room is beautifully decorated in advance. The staff are highly attentive and competent, providing excellent service. For those looking to simply drop by for a meal and drink, the young employees are praised for their attentiveness and skill.
We hosted my mums 60th birthday party here on a Friday evening and had a brilliant time. It was really straightforward booking the room and organising the food and drinks options. Frankies work with a local balloon company who had the room prepared ready for when we arrived. All the staff on the evening were great too. Would definitely recommend for anybody thinking about hosting an event.

Terrible service, staffed by hipsters who don't seem to know what service is. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, and by seated I mean hollared at from accros the bar to seat ourselves in the back room. We then waited 10 minutes to get a drink menu, then another ten to be told two items of food we'd ordered wasn't available, but the rest of our order had gone through, and asked if we wanted to order anything else, without a menu to look at. We paid 50£ for two drinks, two portions of 'truffle' fries, fried chicken and two cheese dishes. Way overpriced for the quality. The music was far too loud to hold a conversation, staff launching bottles across the bar to the bin at the end, the lights flickered and dimmed of their own random accord. This was not at all a pleasant or reasonably priced dining experience. My cocktail was the only enjoyable item.

Went in today , wanted a bit of cake but 1 of my group has a nut allergy, asked the staff about ingredients and was told they don’t know and that the lady who made it wasn’t working today . Tried to order a bowl of chips to accompany my drink , was told not sure if it was possible as the chef might not want to do it . Server said if I knew about working in hospitality and catering I’d understand. Guess what 24 years I’ve been working in the trade and rarely seen such poor attitude. Finally went to pay and they tried to charge for something we’d not had . Good spot to go on the piss on a Friday, not much else

Stopped in with 2 children after a walk for a drink and a snack. Was told tables were reserved for later but might be able to sit down for about half an hour as long as we were quick. Asked to order chips but was told the chef might not want to do them just yet as there was a large party to cater for first. Decided to have a piece of cake but could they confirm if the brownie contained nuts and was told that they couldn't confirm this as the lady who baked them wasn't currently working. Surely it should be written down regardless? Such a shame to end our afternoon feeling disappointed.

I remember the former Mouse Trap pub, before it was converted and expanded into this quirky wine bar. It certainly fills a niche in Disley, serving well-kept beers alongside well-made cocktails. Very busy with the younger crowd on Friday & Saturday evenings, with loud music and a good vibe, with a more varied clientele at other times. Very nice furnishings, a small seating area out front, and friendly & efficient staff. I would like to return to try the food sometime.

Me and my friends were on a bar crawl to celebrate her birthday. When we got to Disley, we decided to go to Frankie’s wine bar. We waited at the bar for a good while waiting to be served (baring in mind we were the only ones at the bar) and of the managers (Clem preece) said he refused to serve us, due to a personal issue with one of the members of our party. Luckily, the other manager (Didn’t catch her name) served us. While we appreciate that he may have felt awkward, you need to maintain professionalism in the work place. So that was our overall experience, we will not return. We won’t be recommending this establishment as we felt unwelcome and the staff were unprofessional and unnecessarily rude to paying customers.

We’ve followed Goef & Diane from The Plough & Flail in Mobberley to Arighi Bianci then to The White Horse in Disley. They are the perfect peopleto have a place of their own and should be seen as a great addition to the village. The meal in itself was Garlic Prawns on Chiabata followed by Roast Sirloin of Beef served pink followed by homemade crumble with locally sourced ice cream. Delicious!!

Popped in on the off chance during a trip to the area and wow!!!! Clean, tidy, friendly and the food was magnificent. And another and another.... Well done Landlady Amy and Chef Tracey 👍👍🤞

We returned to the White Horse for Sunday lunch following its recent reopening. We all love a Sunday roast and between us we sampled the beef, pork and turkey variations. All were excellent as was the pudding - crumble and custard all round. I’ve found Robinson’s beer can be a bit hit and miss but both pints were very good. The service was attentive and they were very welcoming of our toddler and four legged friends in the bar area. Pleased that the pub is continuing to serve the Disley community - we’ll be back for sure.

This is the first time I have visited The White Horse. The service by the person serving behind the bar was exceptional as was the waiter. I am sorry I didn’t think of asking their names to give them a mention. We went to the pub at 17:15 for a Sunday roast. The wine I chose first was not quite how I was expecting it to taste, I would have drank it but the bar server insisted I tried a couple of others. I went with the Sicilian which she recommended and was a lovely light wine. The waiter was friendly, chatty and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. From start to finish an excellent experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all your team. Fantastic service and food.
