Tirta Gangga is a serene spiritual retreat featuring stunning gardens and natural springs, offering opportunities for swimming and picnicking. The area surrounding Tirta Gangga is rich in tourist attractions, including the majestic Mount Agung, the Telaga Waja river for water rafting, the charming beach town of Candidasa, and the ancient village of Tenganan. Sidemen Valley is a hidden gem with beautiful rice fields, colorful markets, and a strong sense of community.
Surreal experience! Very relaxing atmosphere and good for kids. There are many fish to feed (food for the fish can be purchased before the entrance gate). There are boats for hire, and a swimming pool to enjoy the natural spring water.

Beautiful, serene and calming. Best to take a walk in the large garden of this temple and see the beautiful fish pond with hundreds of Koi fish swimming around the stepping pillars that go right till the depth of the pond. A great photo spot, although there no activity there.

Beautiful place to visit. Purely amazing place to spend the afternoon. The statues are beautiful. The fish are impressive and don’t forget to take your swimsuit! For 10k you can swim in those 3 beautiful swimming pools made of fresh water with the fish

We went there early and it was fine to make some nice pictures. Maybe three people who took ages to get the right angle for the 100+ photos with the overfeed fish. It's a great place to walk around and be not to much annoyed by the Instagramers.

Lovely place situated at a serene location. We reached there around 1730 hrs and found no rush there. Weather was perfect and we spent a quality time feeding colorful fishes and enjoying the beauty of the place. Very very relaxing place alwhen crowd is less. Recommend to plan visit during off peak hours only.

There's a hotel within the premises of the water Palace. We checked in there so we could take photos at dawn (few people). People start to flock by 9 am. You could feed the koi! Very beautiful and serene place.

It is a good place to take a walk, chat with your fam/friends and enjoy feeding fish in the pond or enjoy calm swings in the garden there. There are a few restaurants as well inside the place and one can enjoy the view along with some food there. You can also enjoy boating in the pond for a small ticket value. There is a local market right outside and you can shop some souvenirs if you wish to. Overall a very peaceful place with some good picturesque spots.

Beautiful place to spend quality time amidst nature. Thrilling experience to feed colorful fishes. Very neat and photogenic place. Visit during late evening hours when tourists are less to enjoy else it will be hassle.
Vivek Kumar Shrivastava — Google review
Beautiful, beautiful temple. Buy some fish food to feed the koi fish, that was my favorite part of the whole visit! This was much more worth it than the gates of heaven. Here you actually felt that sense of calm you would want to feel in a temple - not like you were being ripped off just waiting in line for a photo (literally).

Very beautiful temple around 1 hr journey from ubud. You can even cover lempuyang temple along with it. Lots of water fountains and colourful fishes makes it a perfect picturesque spot for your clicks. Boating also available. There are lots of eateries inside where you can enjoy food while having a beautiful view of the greenery and water all around. Pro tip: Go early in the morning if you want good uninterrupted background without lot of people for your photos as it gets crowdy after some time and people are standing all over there to click photos.

This place is kinda nice. About 1 hour drive from Ubud, located in Karangasem one of the most beautiful part of the island. They allow dogs in so that's great. Overall, the place is quite beautiful with temples and fish. Yes, the fish may look a little scary but are actually harmless *at least if you don't fall into the pond?

Tirta Ganga was a leisure place developed for the Bali King during the 1900s. It's basically a combination of different fountains. Very good scenic place and good for taking pictures. One of the main attractions is floating stones. The ideal time to visit any day is early in the morning when there is less crowd. Because once it's crowded you will not be able to take pictures without people coming in the background. You will have multiple restaurants inside for food options.

In the beginning, this place looks fully crowded, but we escaping from the video and photo hotspots, and then this place develops its magical moment and royal history. Also, it was a very nice view over the rice fields to the volcano

Tirta Gangga is a unique water garden to visit in Bali, built in 1946. You will enjoy walking on the steps on water, and feeding the fishes. There are a lot of shops outside, buy some fish food before entering. When we visited around 10:30-11ish, it was filled with tourists across the garden. The place isn't big, but it will easily take 1hr+ inside as each tourist spends time clicking photos of themselves on the water steps. Depending on where you stay, it will take at least 2hrs each side to visit this place, so please plan your day accordingly.

This is one of my favorite places to visit in Bali, it was a sunny day. It's well laid out and attracts many visitors. It was around 2 pm during my arrival, the weather was just nice, and luckily could see a red mix bursting lights just above the pond as like a rainbow. A pleasant sight indeed, even cameras capturing this. Here you can feed the fish, ride on traditional board, and swim with fees.

🌟 Tirta Gangga: A Serene Oasis 🌟 Nestled in the heart of eastern Bali lies the enchanting Tirta Gangga, a former royal palace that captivates visitors with its breathtaking gardens and serene ponds. 🌺 Beautiful Gardens and Ponds: The meticulously landscaped gardens and tranquil ponds make Tirta Gangga a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike. Every corner is adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, providing the perfect backdrop for stunning Instagram-worthy photos. 🐟 Feeding the Fish: One of the highlights of Tirta Gangga is the opportunity to interact with the resident fish. Visitors can purchase fish food and delight in the joy of feeding these colorful creatures, adding an extra touch of magic to their experience. 🚗 Convenient Location: While Tirta Gangga is a bit of a drive from popular tourist areas like Ubud and Bali's southern beach towns, it's well worth the journey. Plan for a two- to three-hour drive, and consider arriving early to avoid the crowds and make the most of your visit. 👎 Cons: Tirta Gangga isn't without its drawbacks. Some visitors may find the presence of animals near the entrance, used for photo opportunities at a fee, a bit off-putting. Additionally, the ponds can get crowded during peak hours, detracting from the tranquility of the surroundings. Be prepared to pay for fish food if you want to partake in the feeding experience. 🍽️ Dining Options: Fortunately, there are good Indian restaurants adjacent to the palace, offering a convenient dining choice for visitors looking to indulge in delicious cuisine after exploring Tirta Gangga's beauty. Overall, Tirta Gangga is a must-visit destination for those seeking serenity and natural beauty in Bali. Despite its minor flaws, the allure of its gardens, ponds, and peaceful atmosphere make it a truly memorable experience.

I recently visited Tirta Gangga and it was a five-star experience. If you're planning to go, I recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds, especially the many influencers trying to capture their perfect shot. The tranquility of the morning really allows you to appreciate the beauty of the place. Also, don't miss out on buying fish food from the locals selling at the entrance. It's a great way to support their small businesses, and feeding the fish is not only fun but provides fantastic photo opportunities. The clear waters, ornate statues, and lush gardens create a serene and picturesque environment. Definitely a must-visit when in Bali.

Lovely garden, great atmosphere and polite workers. Fish were very cool and some extraordinarily large ones, flowers around the garden were beautiful. The restaurants situated in the garden were also lovely with good food at good prices. My only regret is I didn't pay to swim in the pool, just the standard 50k entry fee for one adult.
Michael Hoskin — Google review
Absolutely stunning place. Beautifully kept garden. Highlights for me were the stepping stones around a pond with thousands of fish and throwing some bread for the fish. Having a lovely fresh juice at the restaurant at the top looking over the garden with the ocean in the background. Have been there a few times now. Always good. It opens at 6 (check) and get there early. So e of the magic is lost when it's covered with people.

Besakih Great Temple, also known as Pura Besakih, is the largest and most important Hindu temple in Bali. Situated in the Karangasem regency with Mount Agung as its backdrop, this holy site features 23 temples, including the central Pura Penataran Agung Besakih and 18 companion temples surrounding it.
Beautiful temple to spend time at. Best is to visit early morning during sunrise. When I visited this place in June 2019, there was fog, but otherwise depending on the day & weather, if you are lucky, you can see Mt. Agung from here.

Beautiful temple. But I didn't recommend this place for tourists. So many seller and tour guide that will charge you a lot. Sorry but this happens with me and other visitor. But it's great view to be seen. I recommend you not to reply anything or take anything from people there or they will ask for money. But buying drink and everything that already written for the price will be good since the temple is so far and you will thirsty after.

I think the most beautiful temple in Bali. Here you can take a photo at the real "Gate of Heaven" along with the staircase leading up there. It was not crowded, we had a guide from the Temple (included in the ticket price) who helped us a lot with the tour and the photos. It is good to give him a tip at the end as well as buy cards from the little guys, the price they sell them is 1000 to 3000 Rupees each. They really appreciate it. The transition to the Temple from the entrance is done by a small electric bus (included in the entrance price) When you get off they will try to sell you different things supposedly for Ceremony, avoid them.

Really grateful to be able to visit this great temple! Beware of the street seller though, as they will try to "force" you to buy sarong and ritual equipments with a ridiculous high price. Just try to ignore them, as you will get all of them at the temple entrance along with the entrance ticket
Adi Halim — Google review
Amazing temples, definitely the best in Bali! It really is worth the visit. After reading reviews, we were prepared: do NOT buy a sarong, it's included with the entrance ticket; say no to the scooters ("But it's 1km!!" "Don't worry, we walk!" and that was it); say no to the guide, who will try to force himself to come ("I accompany you! Only 150K" We don't want a guide" "I come with you!" "Well, you can come but we are not paying" and that was it). After this situation, we were alone in the temple area (beware: you cannot enter the temples themselves except for praying, but you can still see them from outside the low walls), and had an amazing time. Be ready for the rejections, but after that enjoy Besakih!!

A great place to understand a bit more about the Hindu religion in Bali and its importance to them. It's a big complex of 18 temples and we were lucky to come on the day of their ceremony and see how they practise their religion. The gates are beautiful on the top and the view looking down from there is the best.

Best temple in Bali, it is made out of 5 temples combined into the biggest one in Bali. Worth visiting and if you do so buy offering from the parking (negotiate to around 7000) and climb up to the praying area where you will have a truly Bali experience! Have fun!

Besakih Temple, the Mother Temple if Bali. Attracting people from near and far away. Today on a full moon it is busy and very auspicious to pray with so many together. I am here to give thanks to Mother Bali to have taken me into her embrace for so very long. I am a different person today, since I have arrived 18years ago and I am so very grateful for all the gifts and teachings I have received on Bali. This ancient Temple sight of many temples has a very strong energy and it definitely the temple to come to. Our guide Ketut was very knowledgeable of the ancient history and calm and gentle guiding us through the prayers.

Temple is beautiful. But you have to be careful, because lots of people attacking you and trying to sell bunch of stuff what you don’t need. Sarong( traditional skirt) includes with a ticket on the entrance , so don’t buy it before the entrance. You also don’t have to get guide and pay for him if you don’t want, but if you would like to have a guide- it’s included with your ticket, so he will ask tips at the end. Before I planned visit this place, I read feedbacks of other people, so you kinda aware what to expect and not get disappointed ☺️ Enjoy 💛

Entrance fee is 60k. If they tell you 90k, tell them you do not want the shuttle. The distance the shuttle takes you up is very much walkable. Remember you won't get the shuttle when you come back down. So just save your 30k. You will get a free sarong and a local tour guide with your 60k ticket. After ticket and sarong, do not take anything anyone is trying to hand to you, unless you want to buy them, of course. It was a good temple visit. Wouldn't say it is a must-do.

Amazing huge temple. Actually, several temples are together in the same area. We paid 90k per person, but it was completely worth it. We took one of the local guides for a small voluntary tip, and he explained very well all the interesting details related to the temple/s.
Javier Milla — Google review
Great place, we paid 100k for a guide, we'll worth it as he took great photos of us and his English is superb. We noticed guides speaking multiple languages including French and German. Suggest going before 11am to avoid the crowds. Bring your own sarong. Don't fall for people selling 'compulsory' offerings containing flowers and incense at the entrance. Buy them if you want to but don't pay more than 10-20k for them (they will try and sell them for 100K). Beautiful 1200 year old temple well worth the trip.

The Mother Temple of Bali is a sacred and significant site, and the experience is truly remarkable. Upon entering, you'll be provided with a guide, but be cautious as some might ask for tips or try to exchange currency – it's best not to engage in such transactions. Instead, take your own pictures and savor the spiritual and cultural experience.

Going up to the Temple you can Ridha shuttle bus but or you can walk within 15 minutes to get to the Temple. Highly recommended to visit 👍👍👍

The Temple of Penataran Agung Lempuyang is a collection of Hindu temples located on a hillside, known for its iconic "heaven" gate and stunning views of Mount Agung volcano. The complex consists of three main temples dedicated to Shiva, along with smaller temple groups. It hosts fifty-five different ceremonies annually, including the significant Betara Turun Kabeh during the full moon of the tenth month in the Balinese lunar calendar.
One of the most beautiful places in Bali. We went on a Saturday and the iconic Gates of Heaven has a queue of up to 3 hrs if you are keen enough to have your photos taken. We didn't wait and just took pictures of the rest of the place. Note that there's a fairly steep uphill walk so may not be suitable for older people or those with leg injuries.
Joseph Tan — Google review
Incredible views and incredible temple! My wife and I LOVED visiting and embracing the culture. It is a bit of a hike from most places and after a long drive (arriving at 9:30) the wait for a picture was 2 hours. Speaks more to the magnitude of the temple more than anything! But nonetheless is a rough wait. We endured and had amazing pictures. Would recommend but temper expectations. Also, when visiting PLEASE respect local customs and traditions. Too many people visited for a picture only and disregarded the religious request.
Rocky Hirsch — Google review
It was a memorable experience and pictures taken were stunning however early morning arrival is highly advised as many people were keen to have the same photos therefore expect long queues and this can be beaten if you arrive very early. For example us, we arrived at 5:30 AM and we got Number 17 for picture- taking, short interval of 5-10 minutes could mean plus 20-30 numbers. Also the picture- taking will only last for less than 2 minutes so better prepare the poses you want or check out other people’s poses before you to get some ideas 🤣

Bali's oldest and most famous temple is home to the famous Gate of Heaven. Said to be the oldest Hindu temple on the island, Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang Beautiful scenery is not afraid to climb a lot of stairs and slopes. Guests can take pictures at the gate with the help of a local photographer, for a cool and very eye catching photo. Although it looks a bit delusional Given the panoramic beauty it has, it is only natural that the gate is nicknamed the Gate of Heaven. Pura Lempuyang is a sacred place for Hindus, so there are some rules or regulations when in the temple. The regulations include: * It is forbidden to wear revealing clothes *Each visitor must use the cloth given at the time of ticket purchase. * It is forbidden to kiss or do other indecent things. * Prohibit the use of images by drones. * For women who are pregnant or menstruating, it is forbidden to enter the temple area. Some of these terms are evident when they are in the Pura Lempuyang area. There is no entrance fee to Pura Lempuyang, as the temple only asks for donations. The recommended level should be 10,000 , 30,000 IDR per person, which is the usual amount to pay when entering temples in Bali.
Tony's Ph?m — Google review
Basically, it's your average Hindu temple, just that at this one, you can have your picture taken standing/sitting/jumping in of the arches of "heaven's gate", with only the sky beyond. The reflection you see in most pictures is not from a body of water, but a mirror held close to the camera. Reality is a lot less impressive. It's well organized though, instead of having to wait in a queue, you're assigned a number and they call them up one after another. No pushing and shoving and rushing to secure your place in line here, and they'll take your picture with the reflection for free (there's a donation box, but no obligation). What's really nice though is the view, the temple is situated on top of a steep hill and provides a stunning view of the mountains around - if the weather is clear. If it's not, the whole temple can be in the clouds, which is also kind of cool, but you won't see the mountains at all and pictures will be foggy. As the road up the hill is very steep and narrow, you are required to leave your scooter/car at a parking space at the foot of the hill. From there you take a shuttle bus. They run continuously, almost no waiting. The shuttle is 45k IDR both ways, the entrance fee to the temple is 55k (2023). If you're too lazy to walk the rest of the way, you can hire a moto from the shuttle drop off point for an additional 10k; it's only a couple of minutes walk up the hill though. A sarong is required but can be borrowed at/beside the ticket booth. Drones are prohibited.
Andreas Fleischer — Google review
Absolutely stunning! You have to pay for the shuttle service from car park. And then pay an entrance fee. The wait to take a picture with the iconic viewpoint is 2-3 hours. Not the temples fault, but due to the amount of people wanting to take a photo. We didn’t take a photo there. Before you walk all the way up the entrance for waiting queue, on the left there is a entrance to the backside of the temple. You can also take a pic from there. You don’t get a view of the mountain backdrop , but at least the view of the temple architecture. See one of the photos I uploaded
Nandu Nair — Google review
I will give you ALL the details. We arrived at 5:30am. The shuttle will take you up before 6am but first entry to the temple is at 6am. You pay for the shuttle, $45k IDR return. As soon as you get off the shuttle, you will be given a number. We were number 72 at 6am arrival. They will ask if you came with a driver, always say yes! If you don’t, they will not give you a number and make you wait forever. You then pay entrance, $55k IDR. Bring CASH! Our wait time was around 1hr 30 or so, not too bad. Those arriving at 7:30 had numbers of 200+ with an estimated 3 hour wait time. If you arrive first though, the sun is still down until around 6:30 so it’s better to have maybe numbers 30+. After paying entry, you will be given a sarong included in your price. You can pick the colour you want. Then you can enter the temple. It’s basically a photo shoot. There’s someone who will take pictures with you phone (and mirror to create pond effect - there is NO pond in real life). There’s also someone with a speaker phone directing. They will call the numbers one by one. You have 4 photos each and then 4 photos with your group (couple, family etc). So for instance, I took 4 photos, then 4 with partner then he took 4. The end. You have very little time so make sure to practice practice practice before you take the stage. Everyone is watching so it can be quite intimidating!! You cannot do yoga poses, kiss or lift up if your feet are about your waist. If you’re fast you can maybe achieve 5 photos. Our group jump shot was terrible so they’re not amazing at those, but they will turn on burst mode. You can take photos with the steps. One line is for pictures ON the steps but we gave up after barely moving in 30 mins (people take their time here!). There’s a shorter line for the middle steps but you cannot step on these! You will be told off if you try. The line to the right is entry to the prayer area. If you pay a donation you can enter here to join the locals. Around 7am there was a lot of locals walking through the gate to the prayer area. This stalled photography for quite some time but it’s very beautiful to see. If you don’t want to wait hours for your photo, you can take the shuttle back down and explore the town. You will need to pay again for a shuttle back up but it’s half price apparently. Just make sure you come back with plenty of time. Alternatively you can view the back of the gate by walking around. You can get a nice shot here by tipping the local, you just don’t have the volcano view as you can see in my picture. There are fees at all the toilets, around 5kIDR I believe. I recommend popping into a cafe and having a refreshment and using the free facilities. It’s a very steep incline up to the temple which may be difficult for some people. The temple itself isn’t super impressive, but the gate view is what makes this temple special. It’s an odd experience being such an organized photoshoot but the photos are gorgeous. Decide if it’s worth it for you!

I am giving 4 star to make this place a tourist trap. No doubt the architecture is amazing but clicking photos with the mirror effect you have to come with extra time. It is insta famous stop. You will get good photos. We came here at6:30 am. From the entry gate you have to pay for shuttle go get up and another payments for temple visit and photography. You have to wear a Sarang here no matter how much long dress you are wearing. Also if you are wearing off shoulder, you have to take a shrug. They won’t charging for it. We got queue no 156 which take 3 hours to wait. We would suggest you if you wanted to take photos here do not come too early otherwise the background will be cloudy. Also be prepared with the poses mostly they take 4/5 pics per person. But if you are quick then can get more photos. After this temple there are two more spots which can take more three hours.
Moumita Das — Google review
Really beautiful temple with amazing 🤩 views. Visit just before closure to avoid extremely long waiting lines to get the famous photo
Steen Tromholt — Google review
Came here at around 3:30pm on a Monday afternoon. The architecture of the temple is really pretty, and there is a long queue for the photos taken at the gates. There will be people calling out your queue number for your turn to take a photo at the gate. So do preplan your poses before your turn. We waited about 1 hour for our turn for the photo. There are two pavilions flanking at the sides for people to wait for their turn. Quite cooling. The walk-up is really steep like.. 45 degrees , but about 300m climb up the road only after the bus takes you up from the ticket booth.
Yi Ling — Google review
If you don’t want instagram photos it isn’t worth the time to go there and to wait in the queue for the photo!!! There are so many other things and sites to see in Bali!!! You will need at least 2 hours to wait for the photo unless you go too early!!!

Taman Ujung in Bali, Indonesia is a popular tourist attraction that features gardens, large pools, and historical photos. It is also situated close to Candidasa Beach.
Ticket is 75k for international tourists and you can pay with card. The grounds are extremely well maintained and there is sufficient historical information inside the main building which is very helpful to give some context! Toilets are very clean and the place is large enough to spend quite a while discovering new views and buildings. It’s a bit of a drive but if you combine it with some other water palaces in the area it’s totally worthwhile. There’s only a small handful of local and international tourists around so you can really enjoy the peace and quiet. Mix of architectural styles is fascinating. Highly recommended.

Not much to do or see at Taman Ujung. It is picturesque like the rest of Bali and that is because this was one of the the kings residence. You climb a lot of stairs expecting to see something new but it’s usually just a scenic area. There are definitely better temples to spend your time at. Entrance fee is 75k per person. I don’t recommend.

Amazing palacial retreat apparently for the Royals, open to public for visits. Absolutely huge area filled with beautiful ponds and landscaping. Ver large Walking trails, and lots of stairs to get to the Pavillion on top with great ocean views. Magnificent retreat.

Good place for taking photos and if you love plants and flowers. Beautiful garden and little history of the local king. Spacious and great cared. Prices for foreigners is 75k ( 6$) and 50k (for locals). Light is great if is a sunny day and best spots are for sure the bridges and the lake. Recommended to come here early morning if you want the place more to yourself.

A very wonderful water palace. A royal king built it - we thank you. Such wonderful beauty. The flowers are colorful and smell like a perfume. The water is so tranquil and quiet. You can enjoy the quietness. The walking on the long bridges makes you feel like you are on the water. The Royal engineers placed it in the right place so you can see 2 volcanoe mountain views from the middle palace. Take 72 steps to the top and get another beautiful view of the whole water palace and see mountains and the ocean too!

A true hidden gem and a must visit near Karangasem region. The park/garden itself is huge, clean and well-maintained. There is a white house in the middle of the central pond, connected by 2 bridges. A very beautiful scenery, the perfect spot to take a break. It's still underrated and thus, never crowded.

Beautiful water palace and calm area to take break with stunning views - the light shortly before sunset (4pm) was beautiful. Also it was very empty at that time! I can definitely recommend this palace.

Less crowded, peaceful place. Attractive place at Bali, one can plan for photoshoot here. Entry fee is there, can spent around 2hours here, also some veggies and fruits plants can also see especially Balinese variety of vegetables. Well maintained place, public toilets available. Good place to visit family and friends.

Why people seldom mention this place to visit? Absolutely great experience. Beautiful, quiet palace with a lot of photo spots and 2 view points. 75k for the entrance. I recommend to take more than one hour ti spend there. Also you can have a lunch/picnic right there on the grass.

A very scenic garden. If you are willing to climb the stairs as shown in the picture shared, you will be ablw to view the area from the top. You will be able to see the sea. I did not climbed the stairs. One of my friends did and took pictures. Nice view.

Taman Ujung, Karangasem, is One of the most peaceful yet excellent water palaces in east Bali. A truly beautiful garden and a very spacious place. You can stroll around the garden. I recommend if you're in that part of Bali, but the trip here should be paired with some other attractions in the area.

A nice and clean place. The parking spot is big. The garden is spacious. It was not crowded as we were there. You can easily take pictures. On the top of the stairs in the garden you can see the ocean.

We arrived at 15 pm, so it was not too hot for us to explore this place. It was a memorable experience. I thought the place needs more maintenance. Particularly at the main entrance. Rest rooms also need more attention

Had a very pleasant couple of hours walking around this beautiful place. Gardens are well maintained, lots of flowers, central palace had some great photos of a bygone era, the walk over the water to get there was beautiful. Other small temples in various areas of the compound were quite interesting to see, a good view from the highest area. There looked like there was accommodation available but no one staying. Early morning or late afternoon is the best time as it gets very warm walking around

Went here with classmates during weekend. A great heritage left by the regents. Peaceful and calm place to be. Plenty of parking lots, cheap entrance fee. Try to visit after lunchtimebat 2 or 3 pm, since the heat at midday here could burn your skin :)

The restaurant Warung Sate Gurita Mek De specializes in octopus satay and also offers soup. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are friendly.
Found this nice local eatery when we were heading to Amed from Manggis (with a little detour). They sold satay with octopus, tuna, barracuda, etc. and soup. I treid the octopus satay and soup. The octopus satay is pretty tender with some little bit of chewiness and hints of spices. They gave thick sauce on top and tasted a bit tangy. The octopus soup was great. The broth is peppery, spicy, and full of spices. The octopus was cooked until tender, and the soup was a perfect match with plain rice or rice cake. There were ample parking spots across the street. Recommend to try this local delicacy.

Located on the side of the main street of karangasem-tianyar. Easy to find since this place is the only one who sold octopus skewer and soup. This place is pretty well known by locals and byfar the best octopus skewer in the karangasem region. For some people especially foreigner will find the food is spicy and it is spicy but also delicious and the main reason people always return to eat here. Dont forget to order Es Campur. One of the best.

This is the best, it's not just octopus satay but tuna satay too, and also you get soup. The taste is good, a little bit spicy but good. And the price is not too expensive

Love local warungs! I wasn’t very hungry and my partner doesn’t eat octopus but I finished Raon/Rawon pretty quickly. It’s perfect amount of spice, wouldn’t say it was too spicy. Anthony Bourdain would certainly appreciate this place if he was still with us :)

Best octopus skewer and soup in town. Have to try when you visit east side of Bali. Perfect grill and not too hard to chew. They also provide fish skewer, but the best is still the octopus. They only accept cash, and stop serving after stock empty. Visit asap because this place way too famous.

The mix soup tuna and gurita was delicious. The sate was subpar and wasnt warm. There was plenty of seatings, but do keep in mine the place is semi outdoor so there’s quite an amount of flies/ants that will be on your food. but if you are ever in Amed or Tulamben, this is worth a try

The Balinese restaurant Warung Belayag "Dek Ani" is a small but busy place that serves delicious traditional Karangasem cuisine - chicken wrapped in belayag (rice cake). The dish can be a little spicy, and there is also parking available inside the restaurant. It can seat up to 30 people.
I had the pleasure of indulging in the exquisite flavors of Belayag Karangasem cuisine at this remarkable restaurant. The moment I took my first bite, I was transported to the enchanting landscapes of Karangasem in Bali. The Belayag, a traditional dish that combines fragrant rice, tender meat, and aromatic herbs, was an absolute masterpiece. Each element of the Belayag Karangasem dish was a harmonious symphony of flavors. The rice, cooked to perfection, carried the essence of the Balinese countryside. The meat, so succulent and rich, was marinated in a blend of spices that brought out its natural juices. The use of aromatic herbs, meticulously infused into the dish, added layers of depth and complexity that truly delighted my palate. What truly sets this restaurant apart is their dedication to authenticity. The Belayag Karangasem was prepared using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients, staying true to the essence of Balinese culinary heritage. The presentation was a work of art, capturing the spirit of Karangasem's vibrant culture. For anyone seeking an unforgettable journey into the heart of Karangasem's cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute gem. The Belayag Karangasem dish is a testament to the rich culinary traditions of Bali, and a dining experience here is a true celebration of Balinese flavors and culture.

Omg, i dont expect too much when for the first time I came here. Their place in a small gang, but surprisingly the "Blayag" was sooooo good! Bomb taste in one plate, sweetness, saltiness, crunchiness, acidity, freshness was in there. Definitely come back! The price for Blayag just 25k.
Diesta Premananda — Google review
The Good: Food was flavorful and delicious. The Bad: The location is just slightly off the main path. The Ugly: The lady who serves the food grabs all the food with her bare hand and puts it on your plate. I am not too much of a prude to immediately run out, but she's the same lady who collects cash and cleans the tables. Not certain if she washes her hands each time she grabs food for customers. I noticed this after we ate and went to pay for our food. Needless to say, I will never come back despite the great food. They need to use utensils or wear a glove when plating. Might be ok for Bali regulars who have normalized to the local bacterium and environment, but tourists could have their trip ruined because of this situation.

A Good traditional dish of Karangasem. You can choose between rice or belayag (its more like lontong anyway). The portion was big with affordable price with lots of condiments like ayam suwir, tempe, kering kentang, sayur urap, gorengan, etc The price are cheaper for take away

A nice pit stop if you’re ever visiting Tirta Gangga or Lempuyang. We stopped by this place as it was recommend by our hotelier as a nice place to eat when touring the two iconic places. It was located halfway between our hotel and the locations and also has ample parking an lots of seating for groups. It seems like one of those places where tours stop with large groups of people. The ambience is quite nice as the restaurant is outdoor and seems to be floating over a little pond. There are small gazebos and bridges connecting them so the whole experience is quite special. We went with a small group and ordered a few of their dishes, Nasi Campur, Paket Ayam, a soup and kangkung and overall everything was quite tasty. The standout dish was actually the dessert for us which was the Es Buah that came with Durian Ice Cream, Jellys and so many specialty items! It was great to share with our group and after the two trekking areas, this was great for us. For the three of us, we spent 163.000 which is a great price including tax. The only issue we had was that even though we were pretty much the only ones there, the wait staff was not very welcoming. As soon as we sat down they never left our table waiting for us to order and once we finished our meal, it took forever for them to give us our bill. Other than that, it was a fine experience.

Cosy restaurant, friendly staff, and tasty food. The gurame fish cooked in a gravy that was different from other restaurants. The satay prawn also was marinated well. The first time we tried plecing kangkung n fell in love with it😍

I didn’t expect this place to have such a great fish dish. Their grilled fish dishes are really good. I even finished every single drop of their sambal! They have many variety from sweet to sour to spicy version. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to try all their dishes due to time limitation. Service was good too, however they were kind of slow at the same time. I think the pricing was reasonable as well. Try their sambal mango version! For those who love fish, should come by. I will definitely come back again. It’s about 2 hours drive from Tulamben

It is the HALAL local restaurant , they specialize in fish and it fresh from the pool hehehehe.. You can see them catch the fish. The pepes spices a little bit salty, kecombang it is ok not too spicy. The price for 1 package ( rise + fish ) Rp 50,000 & the coconut water is Rp 15.000 ... Who said it was expensive?

The taste is good. They have a package for 4 people and the price is not really expensive. The food taste is so local but it’s delicious. I came here on the late lunch time but the restaurant still full but they still served us so quick. If you like seafood with local taste then you have to come here.
Ruth Theodora Jans — Google review
We ordered 'paket Megibung' with the price of Rp200.000,00 for 4 persons. It consists of fried fish, pepes (steamed fish), rice, plecing kangkung, and 4 pieces of grilled prawns. All fish is Gurame. If you like the taste of aromatic ginger, then you might like the pepes ikan. The only "irritating problem" is they only provide a little sambal (chilli paste) in a little saucer for 4 persons. So, we had to order two more sambal served in a little saucer. One additional sambal costs Rp5.000,00. I also ordered one bowl of 'crab & asparagus soup'. It's a bit too thick for me. But overall the place was okay.

Simply a rip off. For 2 fish and the smallest overcooked hard as a rock prawns we paid over 500k for 3 people. The fish were small and overcooked. I felt soooo scammed by this place. I go to so many restorants in Bali and for this level of pricing the food should be heavenly. Simply stay away from this horrible tourist trap. Go to any other place.

Really good Indonesian food. They specialise in sea food, so if you enjoy that then I recommend getting that. I myself had some fried prawns and chicken, the flavours were really good, sauce was tasty and spicy. Really happy with place and I would eat here again.

The menu price are reasonable but it exclude tax.. so you will be charged of 10% of more of your total price. The food taste are standard but this is good choice when you are in tirtagangga area for vacation.. still recomended this place compared to other.. Better to order food package than single menu. Come here with 4 other friend and order 2 single menu + megibung packet. The total price was 270k + 10% tax Hope they clean the fish pond for better view and atmosphere

Buffet is a tourist trap. We were taken there by our local driver. The buffet selection is very limited and taste not good, too. Need to buy water even it’s buffet so it’s more expensive than you think. The view is good , right in front of rice field. I guess you should at least go A-la- carte if really want to go. It’s on the right side. Buffet is on the left side.

I stumbled on this place looking for somewhere to eat with a view of Mount Agung. And it's a hidden treasure!! I wasn't aware it had accommodation when I asked Google for a restaurant near Mt. Agung. Beautiful, quiet, serene, I would like to stay here a few days. I only had a light lunch, soto ayam, nasi and watermelon juice, but all were nice. The staff all smiles and polite. We went here for the buffet. We walked to the buffet and asked the employee about the price. He said it's 125k. The food was okay. Not bad but also nothing special. When we wanted to pay the bill was 151.250 RP each and after complaining about that the cashier just took a menu and pointed to the "+21% service fee and tax". Since they did not show us the menu in advance nor did tell us about these horrendous fees we felt like being scammed. Would not recommend this restaurant if you don't want to get ripped off.
