A charming hidden gem nestled on the opposite side of the small hill at Mirissa beach. While not exactly a secret, it's undeniably picturesque, especially during sunset. The crowd is more manageable compared to the main Mirissa beach, but calling it secluded might be a stretch due to its small size. It's a good crowd, and hey, we're part of it, adding to the beach vibes! :)

The place is very beautiful but I give it 3 stars because you cannot swim there. The water has 40-50 cm and is full of rocks 3 meters away from shore. They have also a nice bar with restaurant. Sun beds are 500 rupee but if you order from the bar they are free.

Must visit place! Even if it’s stormy you can have a bath between rocks. Cozy bar with fair prices and all day music, hammocks and sways, kids friendly.

The view is breathtaking and it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The beach is not crowded, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere and clean environment. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food and drinks served were reasonably priced. There's also a little hill to enjoy the sunset. A little off to the secret beach, which is about a 5-10 minutes walk. Ample space for working at the main road. The landowners will charge you a fee of LKR 200 for parking. It is about a 15-20 minutes walk from there to the beach. You also can take a tuk-tuk, which cost you around LKR500 (may be even less - depends on your bargaining power 😅)

It's a beautiful beach hidden beyond a steep hill about 2km from Mirissa town. The climb takes about 10-15 minutes at a leisurely pace. You can also take a tuktuk ride up there. Once there you're greeted with a sandy beach with relatively shallow pools surrounded by rocks. There's a bar and restaurant there which offers relaxed seating and meals by the beach. The atmosphere is peaceful so if you wanted a less crowded beach experience this is the one to recommend in Mirissa.

A secluded little beach in mirissa. a very nice spot to chill and have a bath. Not much of a crowd. Excellent spot to view the sunset. It's a bit hard to find the correct path at the last bit, but can be easily found by asking from a local. There is a restaurant just near the beach as well. Can use it for food + beverages. Sunset is looking good. But cant see a wide sky range. But the beach is not recommended for swimming. In a one side water depth is about 1-2 meters and the other side there are not water barriers. So it can be dangerous . Not only that Muhudu Ikiri is a threat for swimmers. But Good place for sunbathe. The mean of this Secret Beach is totally achieved because reaching vehicle is too difficult through the narrow way to the place. But there is a vehicle park near the sub main road.

Located 2km from Central Mirissa Beach, the location is a bit hard to find, even with google maps the roads are a bit tricky. Best way to get there is ask locals you find on the road. A taxi from the main road to the exact point will cost you around Rs. 700 -1000 since the latter part of the roadis rocky and bouncy. There is a carpark located halfway into the journey, so you can park your vehicle there and take a tuk tuk which will cost around Rs. 500, also the parking ticket will cost you the same. Once you reachthe destination, the entrance to this placeis through a cafe/pub which offers you drinks like cocktails and other stuff. Also tjey have sun beds, tables and stuff you can have a sunbed if you buy anything from the cafe. The beach is covered with rocks and the waters are shallow and clear, you can snorkel there while having a quick dip. The location is out of this world and a must try when it comes to visiting mirissa.

Lovely little alcove areas, rocks to climb on, and there are a handful of cafes / bars / restaurants. Those businesses also set up chairs / sun beds on the beach you can rent. The walk here isn't too bad with sneakers, pack your flip flops for the sand. It wasn't too crowded when I went. Definitely worth checking out.

One of beautiful beaches in southern coastal belt. You can spend the day laying on sun bed while having your favorite drink. There have a beach front restaurant. Evening sun set is more spectacular.

A bit expensive but understandable since it's far away from the town. Very beautiful for the sunset and snorkeling. Only problem was one of the workers was really creepy and our girl friends felt very uncomfortable when he came to talk to us. Then he was creepy again at Doctor's house the next night and I had to physically remove him from them.. (Edit: it's the guy in the white t-shirt with a beard

Compared to other beaches around nothing special. The most crowded beach on Sri Lanka we saw in two weeks. 4 big bars covering whole beach. Mostly rocky ocean entrance so don t forget water shoes because of sea urchins.

We've enjoyed the sun and water at this beach area twice now. The waves are pleasantly mild, making it easy to cool off in the water. However, be cautious of large underwater rocks, as they can cause some discomfort while swimming or snorkeling. Additionally, there's a kid-friendly pool or a small basin to sit in, adding a nice touch for families.

Is it really secret if there are signs every where? :D When I went there during the afternoon I found it to be less crowded than the normal beach. I enjoyed that. The waves were pretty strong though. Like at every other beach there are bars around.

This place is absolutely stunning, with coconut trees all around. It's definitely worth a visit, especially if you haven't been there before. Don't forget to capture some amazing pictures for your Instagram too!

A very beautiful place near the turtle beach. Most known for taking photos. But it's so peaceful as well and you can enjoy the beauty of the ocean for hours and just chill there. BTW visiting is free, no ticket needed.

Fantastic view! A popular place, especially for instagrammers, but still has nice spots to sit and watch the waves and the sunset. I hiked up from the beach, but there is a trail from the road too. The hilltop has lost its vegetation, and you can see several palm trees that have died, but it's still a beautiful area. A must-visit if you are in the Mirissa area.

It is kind of a “must see” when you’re in Mirissa. The place offers a nice view especially at sunset, but becomes very crowded. Nice for a quick photo and for watching the sunset, but you can find less crowded spots with similar great views nearby.

Beautiful spot to watch the sunset, however it was extremely busy when we went. But that was expected as it’s of course a vital place on social media and is genuinely a great spot to watch the sun go down. We also were able to catch some surfers trying to hit some waves which was cool to see. My recommendation for if you want shots of this hill with little to no tourists, come at sun rise instead of sunset, you will get the best lighting and you’ll probably have the place to yourself. However, if you don’t mind the crowds and just want to see an awesome sunset, come at sunset.

The expanse is good, the blue water on 3 sides with the ridge full of coconut trees. Saw locals come for photo shoots. good place for clicking pictures. Can visit around 4.30-5.00 so that one can stay for the sunset..otherwise it can get very hot during the day.

Great place. Wonderful view, some surfers catching waves, dogs strolling on the beach, people enjoying Sri Lanka. Overall must visit if you are in the area. BUT coming to this hill is kind of complicated. We cave without shoes as we were on the beach so it was slippery and kind of dangerous as it is steep in some of the areas. Entrance to this place is from the beach.

Very beautiful place for take photos. The entrance is closed and you have to walk along the footpath along the fence. Parking area is very small. . . The beauty of the garden is marred by concrete posts left to be fenced off or removed

Took the track up from the yoga studio/diving centre. Easy 2min hike. Relatively clean up there. Went in the morning and was empty!

The place is famous for photography. A small place. Just a small rock with few coconut trees but looks beautiful. You can take nice photos from the place but it will be crowded. There are few beach restaurants near by. No tickets to visit this place.

As beautiful this place is to watch the sunset, as popular it is with the crowds and for good reason. If you’ve got a few days in Mirissa, you’d want an evening here just to enjoy the sunset colours and then come back around 10AM for the pictures. I either got lucky or it might be a down time with most tourists not up yet or having breakfast, but had the place for myself for a little while.

Excellent place to watch the sunset! Visit there between 1500H-1700H. No need to buy tickets or anything at all. Make sure you leave only your footprints there!

Very magnificent view .secret beach like you are the only one there. We just passed by Mirrisa for half hour to take some great photos at the coconut tree Hill. Although it was a weekend but it wasn't crowded , we enjoyed the view quality.

Worth the hype. Visit there early as possible to avoid the crowds. We went there early in the morning. It was calm with a wonderful view of the sea. Keep your belongings with yourselves. There are dogs nearby. The path to this place was very narrow. You could easily get lost. It was a 100 meter away from the main road. Easy to spot. We asked the locals for the way. We were taking photos and people started to come. Some were sunbathing there. Check the weather before you visit.

You can easily reach from the main road in a few minutes. There is a good panoramic view. Also you can see the local small fisherman boats.

Coconut Tree Hill offers panoramic, instagram and postcard worthy views of Mirissa's coast. The climb to the top is short and easy, making it accessible for most. Lovely spot for a sunset, can get busy up top but if you go down near the water it is relatively quiet. Great for a picnic or cute date spot.

It was an amazing experience!! You must go to the beach down there!! Don't throw your leftovers especially polythene here! You can even see more turtles swimming there. Enjoy its beauty while preserving it for others to see and enjoy. When you see things like polythene, bring them. have a nice journey

Great views of the Indian ocean. Can be slippery on rainy days. No entrance fee. Only 5 minute walk from the main road. Only street parking available for vehicles on the galle road. Great place for photos. Sometimes turtles can be seen. Must visit place in down south.

It’s a beautiful sight with the red soil and all the coconut trees. However this is a popular tourist destination and photo location so it’s filled with people. We went on a Wednesday afternoon but there was still quite a lot of people. Accessing the location is easy following the road shown on Google map. There’s also boards that lead to the top with a staircase. I wouldn’t recommend trying to climb from the shore as the ground is very uneven with no clear footpath.

An amazing place that you must not miss in Mirissa!! Highly recommend coming at sunrise and in the morning rather than in the afternoon. At afternoon it will not be easy to take photos that do not include people in the background, on the other hand in the morning it is amazing, quiet, calm with few people around.

This place is truly magical during sunsets but totally overcrowded. pro tip: a lot of people seems to quit after the sun goes down, so stay longer and you will see beautiful colors in kinda peace.

Awesome location for sea view and place to take lots of pictures. But need to be careful since this place DONT have handrails to save you, if you trip. Lot of stones and boulders beneath (in the sea). Need to climb a 20 steps and small peak. 5 mins walk from auto stop

Went around noon at low tide. Yes it's hot but I'm sure it cut down on other visitors. Great views all around. Take your time on the ladder.

Cute little green island. As we had to swim to get there it was super calm and we were the only ones there, which was very nice. It gave it a secluded and lost feeling we really enjoyed. There were more ravens, we didn’t spot any parrots but it was still very nice to check out.

May be a less known place, but definitely worth a visit and a really good experience! You need to walk through the water then climb up the rock! The views are definitely worth the climb! Try getting there just before sunset to get some good clicks!

What a beautiful place to sit and watch the waves and take in the view. Be aware that to get to the rock you will need to cross a path where the waves meet, and depending on the tide, the waves may be higher. Of course this doesn’t matter if you don’t care about getting wet. The rock is easy to climb and quite a cool place. Perfect opportunity to watch the sunset, although it will be busier on the rock around that time. Definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful spot to catch some gorgeous views of the ocean and sunset. Only thing is water is more than waist deep at some places and it’s rocky so beware of that. Mirissa Beach is close by as well, just a short walk along the path.

Stunning views of the ocean & 360 views of Mirissa beach! 😍 We heard it’s quite popular at sunrise/sunset so we went around midday and had the whole rock to ourselves for a good 30mins! Be warned though, to get to the rock, you have wade through the ocean for just a bit. I’m 5"9.5 in height and the water came up to my waist and just above it at times, so we had to hold our bags & sandals/shoes over our head while wading through to avoid them getting wet - so wear a swimsuit /light clothes that will dry very easily in the sunshine. You then have to climb up a steep, slightly rickety incline which has a few steps with a sharp drop on both sides and a makeshift bridge made out of bamboo, so tread slowly & carefully! Other than that, it was an awesome experience, that I’d definitely recommend.

It's a parrot rock as it is shaped as a parrot and I feel like it's a small island with a walkway. We went to this parrot rock in the morning and had an amazing experience we have nice view points around this rock with benches to enjoy nature, few people are fishing here lots of fishes and crabs are there at this place.

It is one of the most magical places to watch sunset. After the sunset, the crowd gets low, and the place becomes calmer. The fireflies at night are spectacular.

I love Mirissa!! Nice blue water! Mirissa is a long beach, so you can enjoy staying anywhere at the beach. You can do sunbathing there. The water is quite rough sometime which is why it's a good place for water sport too. I liked floating along with the waves. You can do snorkeling near the rock. Guys, It is the best place for sunset too. If you like watching sunset, you should never miss this place!!! Mirissa is also famous for whale watching, but you should book in advance and as I know most of whale watching tours leave Mirissa early as 6:30am. So, make sure you don't make mistakes like I did.

Very popular beach for surfers. Come here for surfing, swimming with family, really nice beach with clear water and thick white sand. Water is clean and safe for swimming with kids. Didn’t see any water sports on Mirissa beach but it’s alright because most people come here for surfing.

Nice beach, good for walks and swimming but a bit crowded in the end in February. The smaller beach between turtle beach and Mirissa main beach is more quiet and there is a natural reef which enables swimming. Vast variety of restaurants and cafeterias. Please DO NOT TOUCH THE TURTLES!!!

One of the best beaches in Srí Lanka, but a lot of people are there even at the and of the season. It is worth at least a day, you don't need a hotel to be able to enjoy it.

I have been to almost every costal area of the island and I have to admit that this is the best beach among all. I love the waves. Graet for surfing but not for beginners. surfing, snorkeling, dolphins n whale watching, cool dj party.. Highly recommend if you are a beach lover!

The most beautiful beach! Also so good for swimming and surfing! It was clean and the atmosphere was fantastic. We truly loved it. We saw the most amazing sunset from there too, so do not leave until it gets dark because it's worth it. Plenty of bars and hammocks and options too for everyone around. Funny enough there is not an specific entrance, so you have to navigate and enter by the hotels or restaurants mostly, but otherwise great

It is a nice beach. It can get crowded though and the ground is not completly sand. You will enjoy your time there, because the water isncristal clear and has the perfect temperature.

Lovely Beach and so many beach side restaurants to enjoy excellent seafood. Many weekends you have Beach parties happening, which is the perfect time. Although there are so many other clubs where you get good music, drinks and food to go to.

It was a lifetime Experience. Our coordinator Mr. Prasasthi did an extraordinary guiding throughout the journey. Actually We selected this company because of his friendly communication. He explained everything to u before the journey. We were Extremely lucky to see both WHALES & DOLPHINS. (Fin Whale, Shark whale) And there was a huge pod of Dolphins chasing after Tunas. The Crew was very professional and they tried their best to show us whales and dolphins. Also they make sure not to disturb those creatures by keeping a safe distance. Our journey started at 7am and We came back around 12pm. Nice breakfast,coffee, snacks, fruits and water was provided. Highly Recommend this company for a warm, professional and friendly whale watching tour. Thank u so much.❤️❤️

Boat will leave at 6:30 AM and it will take around 5 - 6 hours to complete the trip. Breakfast, a bottle of water and some refreshments provided on the boat. Also medication (a tablet) is provide.

The whale watching tour was well organized expedition. The crew were super nice and friendly.. We saw some sea animals and enjoyed the experience. It was a special moment because i met a Malayalam super star Tovino Thomas on board. Great to see him .

Amazing service. Very good communication throughout, the owner Prashasthi just makes sure everything is fine from the beginning to the very end, even if you are a total stranger for him. Comfy boat, nice tour guides with good English, decent breakfast and water. We was very lucky to spot a Fin whale as well as couple of schools of dolphins as well. Nothing to complain, everything was great. Definitely much recommended

Wonderful experience. We have booked a speed boat for 4 people, the team took a super good care of us and we’re very flexible, we wanted to swim in the ocean and there was no problem🥰 we have seen 5 whales!! Super!

This was a very well-organised whale watching tour. The staff on board were very welcoming knowledgeable and concerned. We were not expecting much but what we received in terms of food medical supply, viewing was outstanding. This is a fabulous team who is passionate about what they are doing. They ensured that everyone on board had a decent viewing under challenging circumstances. We saw the Fin Whale and it was a thrilling, engaging and memorable day. Perfect in every way. The best food in Mirissa hands down! We've stayed for 5 nights and eaten here so many times. The price is super affordable with huge portions and delicious fresh food. The team are all super friendly and we really love it. Best devilled chicken in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

Very well stuffed rotis for a good price and very delicious! Also the sweet versions are really good (try banana and peanut butter!). Service is fast and good! In the evening it's a little bit crowded but okay

Rotis are good but not too many stuff inside. We asked for some prawns like starter and I miss more prawns on the plate. Nevertheless I recommend this place to eat. Passion fruit juice is great!

Unfortunately we found this place just on our last day in Mirissa. I had the best fried rice here. The roti is a bomb, by meaning is amazing!!

We ate here twice and loved it so much we decided to do the cooking class. This turned out to be one of the highlights of our time in Sri Lanka and one of the best cooking classes we've taken anywhere in the world (we've done several). Everything is super well organised and the owner is an extremely good teacher. We learned so much and can't wait to recreate these dishes at home. Thank you!!

Delicious food and very friendly stuff. Great choice of roti for reasonable price. We tried chicken, as well as seafood roti and for dessert we took bannoffee (chocolate, cookies, bananas & vanilla ice cream) which was definitely the highlight of this lunch!

We discovered this place based on good online reviews, and it lived up to the hype. We were on the lookout for a spot with delicious kottu in Mirissa, and this place hit the mark. We ordered Chicken Egg Kottu and Veg Noodles. The kottu portion was so generous that we regretted getting noodles too—it could easily feed two. The flavors were fantastic, a mix of spices, tender chicken, and perfectly cooked . The Veg Noodles were good, but the kottu stole the show. The place had a nice vibe, making our meal even more enjoyable. What's even better is that it's kind to your wallet. For anyone in Mirissa craving tasty and affordable kottu, this spot is a must-try. Don't miss out on this flavorful experience that won't break the bank.

The place truly deserve its great reviews. We took 3 roti, one with mushrooms/olives/cheese, one with chicken/egg/cheesecake and a sweet one with coconut. All delicious! The staff are professional and friendly, the owner is lovely and caring. Do not miss this place when in Mirissa.

Went in with high expectations and was not disappointed. This is a really cozy and popular restaurant which seems like it was a bungalow turned into a dining place. Deviled Chicken had a delicious gravy. The chicken was a bit dry though - overcooked. Kothu Roti was one of the best I’ve had so far. Spicy and comes with curry and dal on the side. As a dessert, the Banoffie (which is banana, chocolate and cookie crumbles) Roti with Icecream is a must have. Overall an excellent meal.

A must for anyone looking to try gorgeous local food! Went with the Kottu and wasn't disappointed. On a side note it's an amazing family owned restaurant with a great story of perseverance. Located of the main road it was well worth the short trip up!

If you're in Mirissa it's a must! There's a wonderful story behind this Roti Shop with great (extravagant) Roti coming at a fair price (nice staff included). You can also get great coffee here. 100% recommended! =)

My husband and I went here twice. We read the story about how this shop came to be and had a good feeling about it. We tried both their savoury and sweet rotis and they exceeded our expectations! Prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food and service are excellent. I had the avocado, tomato and cheese roti the first time and banana, egg and peanut butter the second time. Both tasted fresh and delicious. The food is made quickly and the staff are happy to serve you! You can customize toppings which is a lot of fun and gives everyone something to choose from. I also recommend their americanos and chocolate milkshake! This place is special and definitely a spot you will want to return to again and again.

One of the best meal we had during our trip ! Don’t miss the banoffee roti, it’s the best dessert I had in Asia so far. Thanks to the staff and the owner for their hospitality.

It’s a restaurant a little bit out of the way. It has traditional plates. I really enjoyed my curry and rice. It had a smoked flavour that I liked so much. We asked for extra avocado on the vegetable roti but it wasn’t ripe enough. They could have told us it wasn’t ready. But all in all kottus were good as well.

Went there for the high reviews, left disappointed. The atmosphere was so unpleasant bc of very loud russian tourists. We weren’t even able to hear each other talk in our table! Besides the atmosphere, we ordered banana & nutella roti. This was by far the most unpleasant roti we have had. The roti was raw and chewy, which made it very hard to eat and to digest.

While the kottu and Sri Lankan rotis are nice, we’ve been really looking to try these Thai style ones. Generous stuffing and quite a few options to choose from. Liked the sweet banana and peanut butter one too. Service is quick and easy to see they’ve been perfecting it. Was really busy at dinner time and you’ll have to get used with the kottu cutting noise in the kitchen.

This rotti is simply amazing! The staff is so nice. You get big portions and I will definitely come back. The noise from the kitchen is sometimes annoying. But they doesn’t make the food any les. Would recommend !!

Great roti place to have breakfast and meals. Delicious food and nice relaxing atmosphere. It’s a must visit restaurant if you are hanging out around Mirissa. We had Egg Chicken cheese and vegetables roti, chocolate Banana roti, scrambled eggs and ginger tea. Everything was delicious.

The best rotis we had in Sri Lanka! Breakfast was lovely too. Great value, friendly staff. We ate here 3 times in the 5 days we were in Mirissa and would definitely go back.

Not the most flavoursome curry I had so far but the variety it's great and I got to taste new curries. Good atmosphere but unfortunately just by the main road. A bit noisy but not overwhelming. All you can eat for 1000LKR and big bottles of water for 200... Unbeatable prices

Delicious food, kind and helpful staff, great price! I came here twice to enjoy their delicious cuisine, and if I had more time would have returned again. The majority of the food is not spicy at all but still deliciously seasoned. You can always add chili to your liking! The squash and the mango were very delicious especially. They are cash only, like most places. 900 for a all you can eat buffet, a great deal!

Felt a bit scared to eat there because there were no other people inside. But the curries were good. All vegan. The owner is friendly. Very cheap. All you can eat (as far as I got it)

At 900 rupees per person, I’m not sure if you can expect too much, but there is a great variety of vegan dishes to choose from and you can fill your plate up as many times as you please. Food could do with some more flavour but the service is very friendly. Great if you are looking for a more causal meal.

We love this restaurant! In the 3 weeks we spent in Mirissa, we went here every second day to get their burgers with fries! Honestly for us, the best choice in Mirissa without doubts. A set with burger and fries costs 1000 rupees, which I think is such a great price! Additionally, the food was always served very hot, the fries were just fried in the moment and were very hot and crunchy, the chicken in the burger was so tasty as it was nicely spiced, and the bun was super fresh! The owner with his son (I believe, as this is a family business) were always really kind and happy to see us arrive :) Just mind that it can be payed in cash only! Amazing place, my favorite in Mirissa

This was one of the best Curry-Experiences we‘ve had on our trip through Sri Lanka.🫶 The vegan/vegetarian buffet had rice, 8 freshly cooked dishes (jackfruit, spinach, okra, beetroot, pumkin, lentil dal, mango, carrot), chili, papadam & fresh mini coconut roti. Everything was delicious. We had no choice but to go for another round as it was too good not to. ☺️ The restaurant is a cute small hut at the street with a simple and nice atmosphere and once again so friendly service. When we were there, there was a thunderstorm and consequently a powercut at the restaurant. However, they immediately lit up candles, which actually made our experience even more special ☺️ Go there, definitely. 100% recommended. 🙌

LOVE this spot - a must if you’re in Mirissa. It costs LKR 1000 to eat and you can have unlimited buffet! Some of my favourite Sri Lankan dishes are in there and super friendly staff :)

This was an all you can eat traditional Sri Lankan food buffet for only 1,000 (as of 24.03.24)! They had roti, pumpkin curry, pennywort salad, okra, green beans, Dahl curry, potato curry, appa, jackfruit curry, sambol, and MORE. For the vast majority, everything was 8/10-10/10

Delicious food, very friendly people and really great price 👌🏽 It is a buffet and it honestly could not be better as you can choose whatever you want to eat 😍 They had different curries, rice, chicken as well as roti and papadam. Everything was great. The juices as well :) Can't wait to be back :)

Fantastic deal - all you can eat for 1000 rupees. Lovely Sri Lankan meal with many choices - roti, dahl, potato curry and more. Delicious and spicy, depending on what you consider spicy. Right along the roadside and table and chairs inside and out. Juice bar available next door otherwise water and some soft drinks available inside. Good value for money.

Very delicious local food. It's an all you can eat buffet which varies a bit from day to day - we were here twice and some dishes were the same, some were different. I absolutely loved the atmosphere here as it's common to share a table with other guests (we asked someone if we could join them, next time someone else asked us if they could join us) and we had some nice dinner conversations. Can highly recommend this place. Very good price as well.

Top restaurant. A variety of different, very tasty curry, all you can eat. A very fair price (1000 LKR) 🔝👏🏻 We did not have the burgers but they looked very promising. The strawberry tea is amazing.

Look at the portion of the salad! So generous and fresh. Grilled prawns were overcooked. The star of the night was the lemon (lime) crepe. They also had happy hour from 7-9pm (low season). Thank you Wosh and team for the warm hospitality!

We had dinner in this restaurant 4 times during our stay in Mirissa. Food was really good, both fish and meat meals plus amazing deserts. Owner and chef are French so if you are looking for a fine European/French experience in Sri Lanka this is the right place! Perfect location with a nice tereace looking at the ocean. Highly recommended!

Finally, a great beach restaurant in Mirissa! It just opened a few days ago and we were lucky to walk past it. Beautifully decorated, service was fast and the food is amazing! The French manager is super friendly and make sure that the food quality is up to standard.

The interior/set-up/view of this place is nice. Prices are 60 to 70% western prices. That is fine if the service is decent. Issue is that price-quality of service is low. The waiters at this place have a poor level of English so big language barrier. Tapas food was poor. The catch of the day was decent. Rice and salad where good. Volume of Sauces served is to small, especially with the tapas (one dip and everything is gone. When the check came the fish suddenly was a 1000,- rupee more then discussed upfront. All in all i was happy when we where out and could get dessert somewhere else. Lot’s off these issues a re relatively easy fixes i hope the owner will succeed with fixing them/and his business. No go again for me The owner responded on this message with “ok”. Think this says it all.

The food is amazing. The views are epic and it’s such an exclusive beachfront location. Anu (our waiter) was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Such a great place to celebrate our anniversary.

Was our first stop when the taxis driver took us to the wrong place! The welcome and atmosphere was incredible and the best we have had throughout Sri Lanka. Food you could tell was all really well thought out and made with love. Wine and cocktails were great and happy hour was well worth it Will be coming back :)

Very cool (both atmosphere and temperature). It's a great little cafe with a French vibe. Excellent location and not pretentious. I had the chicken burger and it was delicious. If you're in the area, I highly recommend Oh la la.

Excellent food. Not a big menu but enough variety to please everyone. Something different than the usual Rice and Curry. Great flavors and fresh ingredients. A must do in Mirissa

This restaurant wasn’t far from my hotel, so I popped in for dinner on my way back after a day exploring. What a fabulous find! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, with a good selection of cocktails. I had the vegetarian burger - which was super tasty. I’m not really a fan of fake meats, so was really impressed that the burger was made from mushrooms. My Pina Colada was also good, and nicely presented, as was my latte. The staff were all lovely and super attentive - making sure I was ok, and checking if I needed extra condiments, etc. Highly recommended!

Food is great, the view is amazing, the owner is so kind that he takes care of 8 stray dogs, we really enjoyed the dogs’ company, love the ambiance.

We had a nice evening in this restaurants and the cocktails and the food can be highly recommended and taste very well. The big con is that the portion sizes are very small as seen in the photo and therefore the price for value is not that great.

Lovely food, good service and great location by the breach. The food is expensive by Sri Lankian standards but reasonably by home standards. The food was so good we came back a second time and ordered the exact same food! The wait staff we surprised but we were on to a good thing and did want to risk it haha. They seem concerned of the welfare of the street dogs and had a donation box for a charity of UK vets looking after the dogs

Delicious food...... A bit on the nouvelle cuisine side in other words not very big portions even with vegetables which we sooo miss here but we fortunately not big eaters......special treat place without a doubt 💕

After reading the reviews, we went to order burgers and juice, a chicken burger is still nothing, but the ground beef is not fresh, well, hide it behind the smell of black pepper and salt and it will be fine, but potatoes are a problem, the rule is to dry the chopped potatoes with a paper towel and fresh oil. I don’t recommend it and there are sick dogs under the table. And the staff was busy selling alcohol to the next table.

We had an amazing dinner and sat right next to the beach. View is unbelievable! Staff ist super friendly, very professional and food very delicious. Highly recommend!

Nice place for a change in cuisine while in Sri Lanka. Good, fresh sushi using local ingredients (hence no salmon on the menu as that would have to be imported). Great and very relaxed atmosphere.

Not too sure how this place got their rave reviews. Udon was served with flat yellow noodles instead of udon noodles. Maki was all rather bland and tasted the same. The tuna slices were going at 1100 per plate, but honestly we couldnt go beyond the first slice. The whole place was infested with mosquitoes and it got a whole lot worse the moment the dishes got served to our table. The whole time we were busy swatting mosquitoes, trying to keep them away from our food. We swallowed a couple of pieces before we left the place. 3-in-1 ice latte left untouched. Definitely will not return and will not recommend anyone coming here.

If you are in mirissa and want to have a really good and fresh Sushi you will get it here! I recommend the soba salad - delicious! They have enough options for vegetarian too. The staff is really kind and helpful. Nice place to stay!

Delicious fresh sushi. Sure it is a little pricey but its worth it! Fresh fish and seafood. A treat to have in sri lanka. We had the tuna & cucumber; prawn and avocado and spicy aubergine - would recommend them all!

I didn't like taste of sushi and slices of tuna were too thick. Sitting arrangement is not the best and has nothing common with sushi restaurant.

The little Tuna is a beautiful little sushi restaurant, where you can get delicious food in a chilled atmosphere. Big recommendation!

Very fresh sushis. Everything is local. Place itself is very cosy, you can chose to sit at the table or at the low table where you sit on pillows. As we arrived for dinner, some mosquitoes were flying around - as waiter as waiter came he brought mosquito spray!!! Nice place to change Sri Lankan cuisine.

We stopped by here because we needed a good place to sit and catch up on some work. It felt a little weird walking down the street looking for this cafe as it was not on the main street, but once you are inside and up the stairs, everything was amazing! The place was super clean! It has a very nice ambiance! The servers were super friendly. They do not bother you and keep asking you if you need anything, but they are always around if you need anything. The food and drinks are pretty good! There is also a small boutique to browse, which we did while we were waiting for our food and drinks. We ordered their Shady Poke Bowl, Toast with all the toppings, Iced Latte, and Iced Coffee. Everything was perfect! We loved it! Highly recommended!

Great place for breakfast, lunch and a shop! We've been a couple of times on our trip to Mirissa and can't fault it. The coffee is great, staff all super friendly and the place itself is super comfy and welcoming. Highlight, for me, is the French toast...a myriad options to top it but I went with papaya, banana, peanut butter and buffalo curd...its was delicious, not too heavy and not too sweet...perfect. Can also highly reccomend the smoothie bowls and the topped toasts! We'll be back for sure!

It’s a restaurant with very kind people. It’s located in a small and calm Street away from the trouble. The food and drink is fairly priced and served in a high quality. We had the banana-chocolate bowl, the toast with avocado and egg, and also some French toast. Inside the restaurant is a small shop with nice clothes you can buy.

We stopped here unplanned due to some unexpected rain, and what a great spontaneous stop over this was! Banana oat pancakes?! Absolutely delicious! Place had a nice vibe and the staff were friendly too :) Spying on the other food being served everything looked amazing so would love to come back for a burger. Prices reasonable too, taking into consideration it is a tourist restaurant. Edit: came back and had the Toast + Toppers - divine and the portions are generous!

Place with a mix-feeling, between a 3 and a 4. It's a good place and the food's good, we didn't regret our choice, and the coffee and toast were great. The only problem is that it's overpriced. I feel like you pay more for the environment and the "industrial design" than the food. A beautiful hipster place, a bar you'd find anywhere in Europe. You'd think you're having brunch in Portugal, even the price's the same. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of local flavor. The service was great, sweet and attentive as always.

Shady lane is the perfect mixture of fancy and tasty food, nice vibes and great service! You feel the vibe of the surfer area around mirissa right away, when entering this cafe. Besides the amazing food, you can even stroll around a little bit and have the opportunity to shop for some clothes! Definitely worth a visit!

The food is tasty, good coffee and the owner & staff are really cool - just be mindful the waiting time can be long, there’s almost always a long queue. Sadly because of that the atmosphere is not that laid back anymore as everyone seems to be in a rush and confusion. However, the post-pandemic high season just kickstarted and hopefully they’ll be able to extend more tables on the 2nd floor, the demand is definitely there and it would be a shame not to embrace the opportunity.

My favorite place for breakfast in Mirissa! And it’s very popular )) Great and polite service. They cook fast even when it’s crowded. I liked avocado toasts and was totally in love with oat pancakes! <3 Also I bought banana and chocolate muffins to go, they were incredible!

Delicious. There is a payment by card, but the payment did not pass( The order is brought quickly. I took a burger with mushrooms. The mushrooms were fried in batter and in general replaced the chicken. Smoothie bowl is big. The cold latte is good, not watery. View from the second floor to the greenery. Wi-Fi is slowly.

Only tried the smoothie bowls and they were great. Super tasty with lots of toppings. On the menu there are many vegan items and also vegan cakes. Nice design and atmosphere. Prices are ok. The place is open until afternoon.

On the corner, turn to Shady Lane, The alley dark and having no name. This is where a haven can be found, The name baring the ominous sound. Yet, this is the lost world of foody, trust my word, I say it truly. Their simple menu captures it all, The known dishes that many adore. From their toast to their pancakes, This is the spot when one wakes. The local coffee from the bean, Something one can rarely see. Make your choice and just revel, It's time to savour, see the new level. Absolute gem in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. I wish I had more mornings to come here and start my day with their coffee ☕️. It's a dark roast, but it's the perfect long black. Their toast is simply amazing. I only missed the deep orange yolk. And their staff is amazing. I wish to thank all of them. I felt at home. They've crammed a lot of seating upstairs but I like how efficient the ordering process is, find a seat, order upfront and pay, get given a table number and your order comes to you. The flat white coffee was also very good. Food: We tried the flower power burger which had 2 patties and tasted like a cross between a beyond meat burger and a bean burger, it was succulent and the fried potatoes was lovely and crispy. The smoothie bowl was also very nice, mango was very sweet and fresh. The bowl doesn't look big but it fills you up!

A brilliant cafe searching delicious food and great coffee, well worth making the effort to get to, the best breakfast experience of our trip. The smoothie bowls were delicious and refreshing, the coffee had depth and flavour and the ability to combine toppings and toast/pancakes for the sweet tray ensured all tastes and the wishes were met, friendly and quick service in a peaceful setting made for a great breakfast.

A hidden space in small alley. The outdoor seating on the second floor is incredibly comfortable, and their ice latte is excellent. Also recommend the banana pancake with coconut cream, drizzled with caramel sauce! wish every morning could start with such perfect moments!

Chill place with great vegan options, drinks, coffee and service. My favourites are the long iced black coffee and the brown breads with toppers. The burrito bowl is lovely as well. I am already looking forward to come back!

Awesome healthy food. I had the Shady Lane bowl and it tasted great. The juices are also nice and made without sugar. Although it is very busy and we had to wait 20 minutes to get a spot, the place has relaxed (Western, Bali-style) vibes, so you have to be prepared for that.

We had a really enjoyable time at Shady Lane. The food, vibes, and staff were amazing. We had the cinnamon French toast and it was very delicious. Our server Isuru was very nice and helpful with anything we needed. This place was so good we had to come back a second time before leaving Mirissa!
