Coffee shop
Art-filled hang with craft coffee drinks, baked goods & light fare for breakfast through late lunch.
What a gem! I would come hang out here every day if I could. Staff members were welcoming. The latte was hot and tasty, and the lemon scone was huge and delicious. I loved that different artists' works were showcased (and for sale!) throughout. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating was available, and quite a number of people were hanging out with friends, and/or their laptops. Will definitely return.

Scone and oat milk coffee was excellent! Atmosphere was great. Gal taking orders was not friendly and seems like we were a burden. Hmmm.....
Ellen Gray — Google review
Five stars all the way. We walked in an it felt so calm. They had great music on and a chill atmosphere. The staff was beyond friendly and really knowledgeable. They were able to talk about several drinks and offer suggestions. The prices were also very reasonable compared to other places.
Adam Sweetser — Google review
I stopped in for a dairy-free hot chocolate. It is hard to find these at most coffee shops as they use a mix that usually has dairy in it. The service was wonderful and their baked goods looked delicious. This is a very cute little coffee shop.

I'd give it 5 stars for coffee, not for the food. Coffee is Consistently excellent. Pastries look wonderful, but so far, are rarely as good as they look, and we've tried many different things. But as i said, their coffee can't be beat and is alone worth the visit. Customer service couldn't be any better, truly excellent, get to know you by name, friendly, fast and efficient service. Have to arrive at the right time. Such a popular place that there may not be a place to sit if not timed right. Great experience and highly recommend it!

Super cute coffee shop! Always busy, hard to get seating, but the coffee and tea is worth it. The outdoor seating is nice, and they have a fireplace. I'd love to come back in the fall.
Amy Steam — Google review
This is our favorite coffee spot in BV! They have an amazing selection of fresh, made-in-house pastries every morning. There are so many signature drinks to choose from. Try the Mocha Haze if you like a Dutch Bros style sweeter/chocolate coffee. Staff has always been kind and even if there's a line to the door they keep it moving. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor!
J C — Google review
This is a great little spot for coffee and conversation. The staff are super friendly and helpful and you'll always find this place buzzing with great energy. I was a total idiot and didn't read all the "cash only" signs everywhere and they were kind enough to comp the coffee they had already poured for me. IOU BV Roastery!
Kerry Floyd — Google review
This coffee shop was just darling! I'm totally head over heels for this little town. Very walkable with lots of places to go for food, shopping and coffee. The coffee here was delicious and the pastries were even better. The staff was super kind and answered some questions I had about the town. Just lovely!
Melissa Bishop — Google review
Plenty of good options for drinks and food. I was able to get decaf versions of their coffee drinks, which was great. The green chile cheddar pastry was wonderful! Good prices, friendly staff, nice layout. They were very popular at around 8 AM on a Thursday, but efficiently handled the line that stretched out the front door.

This has been my favorite Coffee Shop in town, but the treatment we got from a skinny guy is unacceptable to me. He needs training on how to treat and accommodate their customers needs. They knew that their cafe was packed and people kept coming in with no place to sit. We were standing for about 10 mins waiting for a table. We decided to move the table that's by the entrance where every time the door opens, all you feel is the cold draft and snow coming in. Then a skinny guy approached us and asked us to move the table back where it used to be. I told him why we don't want to sit in that drafty spot and he just said something like "that's how it is" and turned his back on us. That is very rude of him to do that. Instead of asking people that are done with breakfast, and just visiting and talking, to make room for people that need a table, we are the ones he treated rudely. I used to own a restaurant and I own a lodge. I never treat my customers the way he treated us. I will never go back to this place neither will I recommend this to my customers.
Paz Waite — Google review
We were treated horribly by a skinny man that also works at the Buena Viking. I will not be going back to either establishment because of his behavior. There was not a table available and we stood there for 10 minutes waiting for an open table instead of the establishment providing a seating. We took a table from the busy drafty snowy wet doorway and moved it to another area and we're asked to move instead of accommodating us or asking other customers that were just setting their talking to make room for dine-in guests we had to leave.
Otis Woodward — Google review
I found a nice coffee place with delicious cappuccino. The cappuccino was everything a cappuccino should be. Served in an 8 oz cup, just as it's meant to be, it had that perfect balance of espresso, silky foam, and just the right amount of milk. If you're a real cappuccino enthusiast, you'll know that's the way it's supposed to be made.

I got the Honey Badger and Raspberry Coconut scone. The second was HUGE!! Very tasty! Very friendly staff (Go Blue!!) who were crucial in my decision to get the Honey Badger. My advice? Go full strength! It was very good, but I regret letting them dial back the cayenne...it was almost undetectable (my bad, not theirs). You can't go wrong here. Order some great coffee, stay for the ambience
Sarah Hogan — Google review
Excellent coffee. Great flavors and variety of choices. Love the gluten free muffin options. A nice treat for the family. Long lines indicate good stuff. It was worth it.
Mark Johnson — Google review
Stopped at this cool coffee shop when in BV. The patio is really nice and there is also a good bit of seating inside. They have so many delicious sounding coffees, teas and baked goods that it was hard to decide what to try. We ended up trying a Dirty Hippie and a Honey Badger and both were delicious.

Brewpub
Eddyline Restaurant, located in the vibrant South Main neighborhood, is a bustling microbrewery and restaurant known for its wood-fired meat dishes, pizza, and handcrafted brews. The adjacent boutique hotel offers comfortable rooms with scenic views of the Arkansas River. The friendly atmosphere of the restaurant is complemented by colorful rafting and Arkansas River-themed art adorning the walls. Guests can savor specialties like the Royal Gorge pizza paired with a refreshing Boater Beer Pilsner.
Great food, we had sausage plates and gluten free pizza. The crust was outstanding. Inside of the building was beautiful painting. Had a flight, the sour tasted like fruit punch, not really sour, but the stouts were great. The java and the barrel aged Java were smooth and well balanced. The community has an interesting vibe.

We (7 ppl) went here for quick dinner after the hot spring. But the food went beyond the expectations, so good! We ordered sausage, salad with chicken wings, mussels, pork and they were all very good, the texture and seasoning are amazing. We all felt it should be 5-star experience

We came here for a Christmas Eve late lunch/early dinner. The hostess at the front was so incredibly nice and helpful, and the meal was delicious. I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. I had the ribeye with root vegetables and Mac and cheese, and my friend had the sausage plate with 4 different types of sausage, mashed potatoes and root veggies also.
Alyssa O'Mealy — Google review
Great brewery. Juicy Haze is a dellliiicuous beer and they have some of the best ribs I’ve had in Colorado (we’re on a bbq tour and have been to 15 places throughout the state so far) the half rack of smoked (fall off the bone) ribs, bbq on sd, and mac and cheese was all fantastic. Bf got the smoke plate and he agreed with ribs, and said the buffalo sausage was excellent. Stop here for the beer and for sure the food, esp the bbq! * edit!!! They have the best pozole I’ve had and super affordable. Get it!!!

I've been to both locations many times over the years. I enjoy the beer, but I haven't been impressed with the food and have mostly given up eating here; the burgers and chicken sammiches have always been overcooked and dry. The reuben is good, but also nothing special. I used to love the wings, but now they're way overpriced for what they are; and I preferred the original cranberry chipotle sauce as it had some kick. Service is hit and miss. I get it that there's a pandemic and most places are short staffed. But if my glass has been empty for 5 minutes, and the server walks past and goes and talks to a table with locals for another 5 minutes, don't expect a 20% tip. I miss the pre-pandemic days of sitting at the bar and getting excellent service.
Steve Parson — Google review
Tried out Eddyline as it was convenient where were staying and could walk to restaurant. Service setup & drinks were excellent as we were seated and served very quickly. Had the burger at their recommended cooking level however for my taste it was way too dry. Fries were excellent, but I think I'll pass next time on the burger and look for a better option.

Great service at a fun indoor/outdoor restaurant in the newer section of Buena Vista. Great food and a full cocktail bar and decent selection of draft beers. We had the amazing Poblano Burger, which is grass-fed beef with Chihuahua cheese, grilled Poblano pepper, Chipotle mayo, on a really good gluten-free bun.
David Castle — Google review
We went for lunch on a Tuesday at 2pm with a party of 5. We were greeted immediately and seated indoors. You have the option to eat indoors or outdoors. We were given water to start and menus along with a bar code to scan for specials. Once we were ready to order our food we put our sign up. The server immediately took our orders and our food came out shortly after. The food was delicious! Many people couldn’t finish their food and were given a to go box. Portions were huge! The atmosphere was great and everyone was so nice! Food was generous and affordable! Will definitely be back!

Amazing food and service. Beer was wonderful. The fries were awesome. They have actual hot sauce. Ghost pepper. Will definitely be back! Old fashioned as well.

Absolutely loved Eddyline! The prices were very reasonable for a ski resort town, but the food was exceptional! Very upscale brewhouse feel with a great art-rich dining area! Beer selection was great, and the staff were extremely friendly! Will definitely go back!

We came into Eddyline while on a trip to buena vista. The first time it was actually closed for a private event (at the taproom location). The second time, we came back only to find out they are closed Sundays! We ended up at this second location, which was pretty cool. The place was quite busy. The food was decent. My salmon sandwich was a huge chunk of salmon. I enjoyed it as well as their beers. The shandy was my favorite; the sours which are usually my faves were meh. The root beer, though, was worthy to write home about!! Servers were awesome!! They tag team each table with a different role. Pretty neat concept, I think. I ended with some long sleeve shirts for the fam as well…
Stephanie Zimmerman — Google review
We've loved going to Eddyline for many years. Always great service and food. Beers are also delicious. Great local brew house. I LOVE sweet potato fries, but often they are just ok and not great. These sweet potato fries are top notch, thick, flavorful, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Highly recommend.

Mike was our server and we had amazing service. He was friendly and made amazing suggestions. I had the Grapefruit Yanker which was perfect for an August day in Colorado. Not too tart! Serving size portions are VERY generous. Loved that the burger was grass fed beef from 8 miles down the road.

K's Dairy Delite exudes a delightful vintage atmosphere, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The menu is impeccably crafted, offering an array of delectable options. The burger buns are remarkably appealing, particularly for fast food aficionados. The cuisine is exceptionally delicious, satisfying all palates with great pleasure. A return visit to this establishment is an absolute certainty without any doubt.
Absolutely the best burgers, fries and onion rings anywhere! Great service and we ate at the park right behind the restaurant. Would highly recommend if you are in the area to give them a try. My husband's chocolate shake was amazing!

The First few times it was grate are food came out fast and correct. However the last 3 to 4 times my food was not correct at all I ordered two half pound burgers and they came out as quarter pounds even after stating that I wanted half pounds. I am very disappointed in this expeshaly since the same cook has been working.

A 'destination class' roadside burger icon of simple pleasures and friendly service. It's worth the 10 minute detour off Hwy 285. Proven by the ever-present queue, (out to the road) of 20+ people standing in line for the "walkup orders only" window despite no drive thru, & limited parking. But it's located next to a spacious city park. Every item is memorable, from tasty smash-style burgers, crispy battered Chicken & perfect, always hot fries, & onion rings. Authentic homemade ice cream & shakes complete this throwback to the homey, quality roadside ideal. 🍒 But the unexpected cherry topping here is K's genuine, entertaining service! They cleverly entertain & distract from the inevitable 30 minutes standing in the heat of day, next to noisy traffic, with miles of driving ahead of you. And in contrast, to the increasingly common food server blight, these folks are somehow genuinely freindly despite the continuous crowds of customers. What a delightful find!
Bue No — Google review
I'm sad to say K's served a couuple tepid, tiny, dried out burgers that didn't melt the cheese on stale buns today. My 82 year old parents had been hyped for a an experience from the good ole days despite the price tag of $12.95 each. K's was a fave and mando stop when in the area for nearly a decade. I've had to take down my previous 5 star review to send this warning and I sincerely hope the owners take note. I have never seen this place without a line before...

Very cool, retro vibes. The menu is just perfect. The hamburger buns are just the most beautiful thing I've seen especially for fast food. The food was super yummy and we all enjoyed our food. We will absolutely, 100 percent, be back!

Very good. Not super well air conditioned but very cozy. I didn't see the sign that said burgers are cooked med. To med. Well so that was sad, there was a LOT of pink in my mom's burger. Very good serving sizes and good drinks. A little over priced for the amount we got though. Very good easy to read menus. And they put fun names for your order.
Alyssa Boyle — Google review
If you're in Buena Vista (or within an hour of there), take the time to stop and get a burger. In n Out and other fancy cult followings have nothing on this! And their fries are top tier. The ice cream is great. It's a little pricier than some stops but it's worth it. The staff is fast and gracious. It's located off the main drag and parking is limited. There is a park and some additional parking behind the joint. There's a reason they've been in business over 65 years!
Tyler Dixon — Google review
K's is a MUST when near Buena Vista! The food is delicious and those milkshakes 🤤 the popularity of this burger and shake joint is noticeable. The line is usually long during peak hours but it moves quickly. We like to enjoy our food at the nearby park.

Well, not the Kay's of old. This iconic burger/ ice cream shop has declined in recent years. Prices are high (resort area) customer service was diminished. We felt like we were imposing on the lady at the counter. I've been coming to Kay's since my high school days and was sad that this must see spot had become just an average burger hut. Give it a try but be prepared for a less than exciting experience.
Marc B — Google review
Good burgers, bad service. We’ve been to K’s several times when passing through BV and their burgers, fries, and malts have always been good. During our last visit, one staff member fully transformed our experience for the worse in the last two minutes with an unnecessary comment and hostile attitude. We waited in the typically long line, no big deal, we knew the food was good. When we placed our order, we asked the guy at the register for extra ketchup and he responded that they would take care of us at pick up for those items. When picking up the order, we asked the girl for the extra ketchup and she grabbed two extra packets and literally slammed them on the counter yelling, “just so you know, these are 75 cents each!” It may sound lame in writing but in the moment it alarmed us and everyone around us, being met with raised eye brows and awkward looks from the 10 ppl nearby. Her disposition was really aggressive and abrasive and very unwelcoming to make us feel like we were in the wrong. It’s really too bad bc it changed our entire experience in just a few moments. Could have been 5 stars without her rudeness, but it left a bad taste in our mouths, figuratively speaking.

Customers can enjoy the fast-casual dining experience with from-scratch food both indoors and outdoors on the spacious patio. We loved everything we got! Hubby couldn’t stop raving about his burger and my southwest bowl with a sparkling Mezcal was way more food (and way more delicious!) than we were even hoping for. So fresh and inventive. Cute decor inside and a massive patio area outside!

House Rock Kitchen was a nice surprise in a small town in Colorado. They have a great outdoor vibe and indoor seating for cooler days. It is setup as a hybrid Grill and Sit down eating where you order upon entering and they bring your food to your table. They had a good selection of vegetarian options that my friend enjoyed and I had their house burger that was delightful with a unique bun shown in the photo. Per their name they often have music on an outdoor stage centered in the outdoor eating area that features a gas fire pit. Check them out!

While in Buena Vista today our family of 7 decided to check this place out for lunch. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. The service was great and the staff was very attentive to our needs. We will take our guests here every chance we get. The food was not fast food junk, but the chef made and very tasty. We loved it!
Kathy Cooper — Google review
Quality ingredients and friendly staff! Beautiful patio for eating outside. My husband got the chipotle burger which was delightful and very flavorful! I got a smothered burrito, and while it was good it was a little on the blander side. I'd definitely try one of the bowls next time. Note they can't allow dogs on the patio, but they were very apologetic about it.
Elizabeth Smith — Google review
A nice variety of food and drink options in Buena Vista. Outdoor patio is good sized. If you're sitting in the right place you have good views of the mountains. Really appreciate the policy that you can get a table until you have an order placed. Several gluten free options. Lines to get in usually indicate good stuff at a restaurant.

We visit Buena Vista regularly but it was our first time to House Rock Kitchen - we're definitely coming back! Everything we had was excellent, with large portions and great presentation. I was famished so I got the chips and guac on the side -- it could have been a meal by itself! I had the pulled pork burrito (fantastic -- I especially like how the tortilla was toasted like a panini) and my wife had a salad which was also massive. I also appreciated the low key atmosphere. I can't wait to come back to have a drink.
Tomas Remotigue — Google review
Nice place for lunch on Main street. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, burgers and even vegan choices. I had the Simple burrito (black beans and quinoa) but I had them smother it with Green chile which has pork in it, so not entirely vegan 🤣. And what is essentially a salad with it which was fresh , tart, and crunchy. And my partner had the bbq burger, which also came with some nice accompaniments. Both were great.

On the less busy side of the strip but totally worth it. Great turkey sandwich and the place smelled amazing from outside. Huge plus is the sweet potato chip option. And great selection. Nice staff and place to eat in BV with food choice options. Paleo, gluten free and vegan. Def recommend.

High quality food ranging from salads to bowls to sandwiches. I got a Southwest Chicken Bowl, and it really tasted like the ingredients were high quality. The service was great and the outdoor seating was amazing. I bet this place gets fun later in the evening with all the seating available.

Super busy and popular place but they've got an efficient system and crank out the platters. Which are ENORMOUS! Be warned :) lots of creative, globally-inspired flavors with tons of vegetarian options. I liked the kombucha on tap too. Hubby got a brisket sandwich for which he said: "Not the best brisket I've ever had, but overall a great sandwich." The fries and accompanying aioli were yummy too. I got a Moroccan bowl with salmon; everything on that giant plate was delicious and worked well together. The place has a great vibe with plenty of seating indoors and out.

Meh. This place makes the worst rice on the West. The food was bland and some items were overcooked. Beef brisket was sour and more boiled than stewed. I would rather prefer a smaller plate of food that actually has some taste. Both tables that we tried to occupy were dirty. The restroom was disgusting.
Jenna K. — Google review
Sitting outside was just beautiful but it could do with some added shade. The prices were a little high but the portions were huge and delicious! Well worth it. Also, if some one in your party had a peanut or nut allergy in general, this is the place to go! They are really careful with nuts here and I felt very comfortable with my kiddo eating here and all the staff were knowledgeable about it. So that's a HUGE plus for us.

Stopped here on the way back from Great Sand Dunes NP. This was our second time eating here as a gluten free, dairy free family. Soup was delicious, and the pretzel bread was fun to share. Had a nice atmosphere to sit down with friends and chat while having a nice late lunch. A person in our group had an allergy and the staff made sure that the food they ate was safe. Would come again, 5/5!

Our first time eating Simple Eatery and was very impressed with the quality of the food and options. I had an amazing burger on a homemade GF bun. My wife had the curry mango hummus. She loved every bite! Well done guys!

I had the rainbow trout which came with crispy skin on. Perfectly cooked and reminded my of Seattle. Also the buffalo ravioli and soup are also recommended. You order at the counter and the menu is short and that is good because the locals eat here too and they are behind you in line. Waiters bring everything to your table. The building also sells outdoor clothes.

We ordered the pretzel board, a cup of tomato bisque, and a small Greek salad. This was more than enough for two for lunch. We had a half a pretzel loaf leftover, which we bagged up for later. The desserts were so desirable but we were too full to try them. Everything was delicious 😋. This place is very busy at lunchtime. Plan accordingly.

This was definitely a fun place. Outdoor activities that the kiddos enjoyed. Fun that it is attached to the trail shop, makes it a lively vibe. The staff were all super nice and even helped us move inside when it was cold. For me, the food was good but a little pricey. I think I would go back, just with a different budget in mind.

It's possible that there's another place that takes as much care of their customers, but I've not experienced it. The gluten free bread is great, and the customer service was what you would expect from a 5 star dining experience. Hence, the 5 Star rating. Thank you for being awesome!
