Reindeer Farm

Mentioned on
Farm
Sights & Landmarks
The Reindeer Farm in Alaska is a working farm that offers unique experiences such as reindeer petting and feeding, horseback riding, and winter sled rides. The farm is reasonably priced and provides opportunities for visitors to interact with various animals, including moose and ponies. Despite the windy weather conditions during one visitor's trip, they still had a great time. In addition to friendly staff who assist in showing visitors around the farm, there are also pony rides available for young children.
My husband and I were visiting Alaska from New Hampshire and I came across this farm while looking for things to do in the area. I'm so glad I did. We had an amazing time. Very reasonably priced. It was quite the experience being able to kiss a moose. We enjoyed feeding all the animals......especially the moose and the reindeer. It was very windy the day we went, but we still had a great time. I wish it was closer to home. My nieces would absolutely love it. They offer pony rides for those who have young kids. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in showing us around. Thank you for a great time.

Such a cool spot! We had such a wonderful time! (We stopped by Wild Life Conservation and it wasn’t that great and very expensive!) This place was SO interactive, everyone was so kind and friendly and made sure you enjoyed your time there. Extremely kid friendly! The kids loved the playground, hay bales, bubbles, and all the activities. You can also grab burgers and hotdogs and yummy desserts. It’s just a great place! Don’t pass it up!😊

This place was amazing! It was me and my family’s first time there and it didn’t disappoint. The folks that work there are so kind and informative. The animals look so healthy and well taken care of. The gift shop is great and I love the little coffee shop! It’s so perfect for kids and adults alike! We plan on getting the yearly pass and going a handful of times a year. Oh, and the location is so beautiful!!!
Dani Holmes — Google review
So much fun!! The animals were all well taken care of and excited to interact with people. Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. The price point is amazing for the experience. We’ll definitely be coming back in the summer.
Haleigh Moore — Google review
A MUST see when you are in the Palmer area! The farm is super easy to get to even in the winter. The staff are very informative and super friendly! The star is Rocky the moose who loves to give moose kisses! This is such a wonderful experience to see reindeer so close. It's so worth it and you get plenty of time to feed them up close. There is also a bison, some elk, yaks and some alpacas! It was such a great time, even in the frigid cold! Dress in layers!
Melissa Previte — Google review
This farm is absolutely incredible. The staff and owners are SO kind and friendly. There is so much to do and the animals are well loved. I highly recommend doing the VIP tour as you will get to go in with the animals and feed more of them than if you do the self guided tour. Where else can you feed a reindeer with the mountains in the background? I love that this is a family run local business. The entire team clearly takes pride in what they do and love their animals dearly!
Ann Marie Woyma — Google review
This place was enjoyed by everyone in our group from 11-75!! Was able to get up close personal with all the animals, hand feed and even pet most of them! The reindeer, yak, moose and highland cows were my favorites. All staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the animals. Unique experience, highly recommended!!
Maria Juno — Google review
This farm experience is enjoyable for both adults & kids. We did a guided tour and got to know many interesting things about many animals in the farm. We got to feed Reindeers, Alpacas, Moose, and baby Bison. We saw Yak, Elk, Musk ox, Pigs, Hens too and were able to pet most of the animals. This farm is a must visit when you are around Palmer area.
Sri Prathyusha Mudiam — Google review
My friend and I went to the Fall Family Fun Event and had an amazing time! We started off by getting some grilled cheese and soup at the food truck, and then going around to see all of the different animals (there was a lot more than we expected!) We also went on a Spooky Walk, got some yummy cider, and ended our experience with the maze. This is perfect for people of all ages to enjoy, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun fall event :)
Janessa G — Google review
Fantastic experience as someone visiting Alaska. My brother and I went and had the tour guide Zack, he was absolutely amazing. We learned a lot about the animals, froze slightly with -20 degree weather but then easily warmed up with the hot chocolate provided on the tour. All the animals were well trained, friendly to feed and cool to look at and pet. 10/10 recommend for anyone who has time to stop by.
Syd T — Google review
We went to the reindeer farm today and it was such an amazing experience!!! I assumed we would feed the reindeer but was pleasantly surprised to see the other animals. We kissed moose (Rocky and Lucille), saw a Bison, Elk, Alpacas, a Yak all in addition to feeding those cute reindeer!!! It was super cold and snowing, however the farm clearly advised dressing for the weather in the confirmation email! I definitely list this as a MUST SEE when in the Palmer area!! Enjoyable for young and old alike!!
Amy Gray — Google review
We went to the Reindeer Farm yesterday. Eric was a guide and we had a blast! He was funny and knowledgeable about the farm and the animals. He also took great photos. We were able to feed and/or pet almost all of the animals. It wasn’t too costly and was worth every single penny spent.
Laura Russell — Google review
Always a family favorite to visit the Reindeer Farm! Around every corner is a farmhand to share information, answer questions and provide treats you can feed to the animals for a completely hands on experience. Every trip is enjoyable with something new and exciting to explore. I highly recommend touring with a guide your first time. It’s worth all of the memories!
MacKenzie James — Google review
Wonderful experience! My daughters and I loved everything about this special farm. There are all kinds of animals here and all are so well cared for. Many are rescues getting a second chance. The staff are all knowledgeable and fun. Don’t hesitate to book this experience!
Elizabeth Bohannon — Google review
The Reindeer Farm is a truly magical place! Being allowed to interact with most of the animals, including the baby reindeer, was an experience I will always remember with such excitement! My grandkids are going to be so jealous when I show them the pictures! Cam was so knowledgeable and welcoming, he's a gem!
Cindy Shatto — Google review
I went here in the middle of Dec 2023 and had an awesome experience. I was in Anchorage for work and found this place to explore in my down time. The staff was unbelievably nice and all the animals are very well taken care of and loved. I definitely recommend some good winter shoes while you’re there otherwise your feet might freeze like mine did. The hot cocoa break was a nice added touch in the middle of the tour. I loved being able to feed all the babies and get pictures even though I was traveling solo.
Jessica Rakich — Google review
We had a great tour of the Reindeer Farm in Palmer (February 2024). The Highland cows were a highlight with the kids, and our picture at the end of the tour with April the reindeer. It was a great guided experience with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Kids loved it and so did the adults!
Alexandra Gamble — Google review
We decided to go to the Reindeer Farm last minute and booked a 2:30 reservation. The drive out there is so beautiful. We got there about 15 minutes early and got to wait in the gift shop. It was cold out, so dress warm. Our guide was Eric, the son in law of the owner. We got accompanied by Cody, the farm dog. We got to feed, pet, take pictures with these beautiful animals. I was stoked that I got to see my first moose. They were still babies, about 6mons old. Eric gave us a lot of info on each animal. We ended getting to take a picture with April, their rescued reindeer. I would recommend going here in the winter. It's just so beautiful with the snow. You do get to warm up and drink hot chocolate half way thru.
NaeNae — Google review
Jodi (not sure of correct spelling) was a great guide! The love she had for each animal especially the bison was awesome. She was very informative of each animal. The animals are well cared for which is obvious when visiting.
Kelley Williams — Google review
Fun place for kids and adults alike. Got to pet and see a bunch of native Alaskan animals! Guide was super funny and knowledgeable. It can get pretty cold so make sure to dress warm.

We had so much fun here! The staff are amazingly friendly. The kids were able to touch and feed all of the animals. They had the best time and we will definitely be back.

Bodenburg Butte

Mountain peak
Nature & Parks
Bodenburg Butte is a scenic, elevated peak nestled in the picturesque Matanuska Valley. This location provides an excellent opportunity to explore and bask in the summertime. The trail up to the summit is fun yet relaxing, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It's a highly regarded landmark of the area that boasts a clean and well-maintained environment.
Great short hike. 2 sides to try. One side has a nice trail leading to stairs all the way to the top. The other is a more challenging climb without stairs and a steeper climb to the top. No matter your choice, the 360 degree views will not disappoint.
Rick Glover — Google review
Lots of stairs, but super worth it at the top!! This is my second time up, and I still enjoyed it.
Becca Tieszen — Google review
Beautiful views. If you hike up one trail you may want to go down that same trail. We started at The Butte Trailhead (Sandvik Family Trail) and came down the other side, on the stairs and ended up at the West Butte Trailhead. We aren't from the Palmer/Wasilla area so we didn't know what to expect. There didn't appear to be a direct route back (without hiking back up and down again) to our starting point so we had to walk 5 miles around, on the Bodenberg Loop road, to get back to the car. We enjoyed the hike, and detour back to the car, even if we didn't know exactly where we were going.
Heather Rykal — Google review
I loved this hike. I had to get in better shape to enjoy it. The views are great as you go up on this side of the Butte. (There are 2 sides. The other side just had stairs.) Enjoy!
James Wyss — Google review
Great hike. Worth it! Great view! Once you make it past the 505 steps... hard but small children can do it.
Maria Ming — Google review
Such a great place to enjoy the summer. Very relaxing hike to the top and the views are worth the fun trail up the Butte. A highlight of the local area and very clean and nice.

The Musk Ox Farm is a non-profit organization that provides educational tours and features musk oxen, along with a unique gift shop. Visitors can enjoy a 45-minute walking tour of the farm, which teaches about these fascinating animals from babies to elders. The knowledgeable guides are available to answer any questions you may have. The gift shop offers apparel and hats made from the inner hair of the ox, as well as other trinkets and books.
Enjoy learning about the Musk Ox today! Our tour guide Jessica was very nice and very eager to share her knowledge with us. Really enjoyed it! Great for the whole family.
Lissa Duty — Google review
Very cool place to visit! The staff were all super friendly and we gained lots of information from our walking tour throughout the farm. All the musk ox were pretty active even though it was a hot summer day.
Justin Zhao — Google review
My husband & little sister visited the Musk Ox Farm Fri 3/15/24. We definitely needed spikes for our boots due to the ice & thanks to other reviewers, I knew we needed them & brought some. There were about 6 others on our tour. The guide walks you around the farm & tells you all about the Musk Ox - It's a very short & simple walk. The guide was also able to answer questions from the group. I don't know that I would recommend this activity for young children but its a fun, educational way to spend an hour or so. At the end, you walk back into the building & there is a small gift shop. I would recommend visiting to learn about these beautiful arctic animals!
Lauren Ryan — Google review
Visiting from Florida. Wonderful 45 minute walking tour around the musk ox farm teaches you everything about the musk ox. From babies to elders you will see the different age groups of these mostly docile animals. Nice guides to answer all the questions you may have. Little gift shop area to snag up some apparel or hats made from the inner hair of the ox. Other trinkets books and more. A nice spot to view and experience these majestic creatures. Great for people of all ages! A must see when in Palmer AK!
Florida Native — Google review
This was not part of our plan when we went to Alaska and we happened to stumble across it online. It was really well priced and on our way elsewhere, so we went. We had zero regrets. It was really cool to learn about musk oxen (what a misnomer!) and the fall and rise of their population in Alaska. Walking around the farm was lovely, and our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would recommend this tour for both adults and kids.
Tara Forbes — Google review
I joined the Guided Tour given by Catharina, she was very polite, answered our questions, and, more than all, gave us explanations about this very especial animal, the musk ox, who survived the ice age and brings nowadays informations not yet all revealed. They also have some reindeer’s/ caribous and a beautiful and cheap collection to be purchased at their small shop. A MUST GO !
Leticia de Castilho Freire — Google review
I visited here Dec 2023 while I was on a work trip to Anchorage. I had a great experience getting to see all the musk ox around the farm. The tour was very informative and Jessica was a great tour guide. The animals are very well cared for and loved. Highly recommended stopping by. Don’t forget good winter shoes and clothing if you are visiting in the colder months!
Jessica Rakich — Google review
Do this before the reindeer farm. Don’t do it after! It’s less hands on and more educational. Also, masks outside… lame. You aren’t even close enough to throw covid on the ox so I don’t get the dire need for the mask. If you’re into extreme social distancing from animals and want to learn 80 ox by name then this tour is for you. The views are beautiful and the ox are cool to see but… just different experience! I’m glad these animals have a wonderful place to stay and don’t have to risk their lives from catching covid from patrons.
Emily Bailly — Google review
The Musk Ox Farm out of Palmer was easy to find. Their new gift shop is very nice and the hosts are very knowledgeable. Prices were very reasonable too. Excellent for all ages and a totally unique experience in a beautiful setting.
Ronald Rees — Google review
I love this ancient animal. Their fiber is most exquisite. The tour guide was very informative and answered all my questions. Can’t wait to crochet with the yarn I bought.
Monique Jackson — Google review
This was fun. The tour was informative and worth the fee. We only waited about 20 minutes for a tour. The gift shop was interesting but very expensive.
Sherri Thomas — Google review
The farm and animals are fun to see…we toured today 8/8/23. Our tour could have been much better with a different guide. Ours seemed uncomfortable and laughed with every word she spoke. It was brutally slow and she repeated stuff because, I guess, she ran out of thing to say. We saw another tour group down a different area and there were many more young Musks down there. So…I recommend because when are you going to see Musk Ox’s.
Colleen DH — Google review
A wonderful experience. I booked for a Sunday evening and was the only one there for that tour. Jessica was very knowledgeable which made the tour much more enjoyable. The Muskox came very close to the fences, they appear to be very well cared for. 10/10 great experience for any age
Aislynn Smith — Google review
The online booking was very easy and convenient. Our guide, Abby, had been with the farm for some time, so she was very knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions and told us entertaining stories about many of the oxen. It was interesting and fun (and funny!) to see the unique personalities of each animal. The gift shop has a good selection of merchandise; something for all ages. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I can definitely see us returning again and again. I highly recommend visiting!
Billie Triplett — Google review
We stopped in to check out these animals as a recommendation from a friend. The facility and tour was awesome. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and it was fun to walk the fence line and see these creatures. They are really magnificent and it’s worth stopping in!
Grace Bol — Google review
We had Amelia as our guide and she was so kind and understanding when our 2 year old melted down the whole tour. Our 5 year old loved it and was super engaged the whole time. We can’t wait to come and visit again once the weather gets a little warmer and our two year old, a little more tame.
Ashley B — Google review
We went on the tour and it was wonderful! Our guide was so informative and knowledgeable. We learned so much! My kids and I enjoyed it immensely! The musk oxen were so adorable!
Tiffany Hallock — Google review
We had a great time touring the farm and learning so much. Our tour guide was great. Great gift shop too. Really hope I we win the raffle because that blanket felt so soft. Will recommend to others.

2023.06.30 - Wonderful how this place does a great job in advertising for its city. So much history to review and learn. I feel sad for the original people who called Alaska their home. There is a beautiful garden outside the back door.

The visitor center was ok. They had a very interesting film, but it is in the main area so with everyone talking I really couldn't hear it. The colony house is worth walking down to,and the garden is quite nice.

Very informative with plenty of interesting displays and photos of local history. The founding of Palmer in the 1930’s is fascinating. Friendly staff and a great garden (giant cabbage!) to tour. We also enjoyed the handout allowing us to self tour the historic district.

This was a cool spot. Very eclectic vibe with a unique beer selection and several cool limited release beers for the true connoisseur! Beautiful spot with a fun atmosphere unlike what you’ll find at most places which makes this place a must stop! Highly recommend!

This place rules. Great beer selection, really yummy food. They even have some options for those who aren't beer fans like a seltzer and some non-alcoholic choices (kombucha and a soda for the kids). Smaller location, but great place to meet with friends!
Jade Barker — Google review
Out of all of the breweries that I’ve had in Alaska this one comes in at #7. Absolutely, hands down, they have the best coffee porter in the state. They need a award for their Grounds for Divorce coffee porter, it’s rich, complex with just the right amount of coffee flavor! I was also surprised by their Basic Bit** sour. One of my favorite parts about this brewery is their relaxed, comfy environment that is so inviting to bring your friends and just sit down and enjoy a cold one! They have outside sitting as well which is great. They offer food as well which was very good!
Justin Fravel — Google review
The beers are a rotating selection of brews that are all delicious and unique. For the real experience you have to stay and eat and chat for a bit. The food is always amazing and never disappoints. 11/10 would recommend.

Excellent service and fantastic pairings for special events. If headed over for a tasting during normal hours you won't be disappointed.

It's one of the best breweries in alaska, and one of the best pure Alaskan experiences, any one could have. The beers are very good, I have not had a bad one yet they have created. The crowd here is a slice of alaska. This is a fun place that doesn't take itself seriously, but makes seriously good beer. Update five years later. Still the best brewery in Alaska! I might miss the farm but in the winter after driving 45 minutes for a beer, its nice comfy and warm. The food is very good.

My friend new the owner and highly recommend this place. So, off we went. I forget the servers name, but she is an older gal with red hair and has been there for 9 years. She was so amazing. Great service, friendly, professional, and just all-around amazing. Always had a smile, and so did the other staff we interacted with. Sorry, I forgot to take pics of the food. I had the delicious veggie pizza, John and the steak, and shon had 2 different appitiserer (the 1st one on the list and the fried brea). Everyone said it was worth it and so yummy. John even talked to people coming in as we were leaving about how amazing the steak was. They even have a section to share free books with others. How amazing is that? I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely be back. Go have yourself some amazing food around some amazing staff. Alex, you really have an amazing thing going here. Keep it up!!

Not the best experience tonight. The food was tasty and the limited staff tried hard, that is why they got a 3 from me. My Moussaka is pictured. The potatoes were good but the cheese was burned so badly it ruined the dinner. The Brie dish was served without the walnuts and only had 4 pieces of bread with it. Even with limited staff they need to try harder.
Georgianne Miller — Google review
Service is not their strongest attribute. The food us good but takes forever to make. Most everyone seated already had their food. Only 3 people showed up at the same time as us. It took over 30 minutes to make 2 sandwiches. Thirty minutes. Seems crazy when I could make and bake a pizza faster than that. Or grill a burger patty and fix that up. The food is delicious. Fresh. Crisp lettuce. But every time I've gone there it's been a wait. The longest I've waited was 45 minutes. That's a long time....
breanna love — Google review
Ordered the steamer clams and they were excellent. The ribeye was a very thin cut and didn’t have any marbling. The atmosphere is foposh. They want to look good but in a cheap way. The biggest con for me is their ice tea and fountain drinks are no free refills. It costs them .30 to make but charge $4 for a fountain drink. Makes it hard to want to come back as they do not value their customers. Waitress was very nice
Arlen Ayojiak — Google review
Went to have a nice breakfast with my wife. Food was ok but everything had a layer of grease or something they cooked with on it. There was a layer of moisture on the plate. We only saw the waiter to order them other people brought us the food and took our plates. Breakfast came with bread but had to ask for it and by the time I got it, I was done with my food. I ordered coffee with my food and since we never had our server again, I never got a refill. I would never have spent that much on coffee if I had known I wouldn’t get a refill at least once. I will not be going back for a while. People in this town seem to love this place but I get better service almost everywhere else I go.
Charlie Foster — Google review
This place has super tasty and savory food! I got the portobello sandwich with a side salad. Everything is made from scratch and you can taste the difference. The bread, mozzarella and pesto on my sandwich were all made in house, and the homemade balsamic dressing on my salad was divine. We split spanakopita as an app and loved it. Super fresh! Can’t wait to come back for another meal.

I had eat in and to go orders. The to go order was entirely the wrong items, and when I emailed for resolution, there were no returned emails. The dine in was ok, but definitely not worth the price. The atmosphere was loud, so much so that I could not hear my friend across the table.

Update:4-11-24 Still my favorite restaurant in the valley! I come a bit less because now I live 45 minutes away, but I still make the trip often because the food and tea never disappoints! I have so many "favorites" here, but the "cold cure" tea is hands down the best drink imho. Pic of todays meal of bread with balsamic and oil, indian type beef stew, and cold cure tea. Such a wonderful day and my waitress was awesome to boot! Wish I had gotten her name. Go visit if you haven't yet, you won't regret it! And don't forget to try the lemon tart with blueberries and whip on top! This is my favorite restaurant hands down! I come at minimum once a week and each time have tried something new, which is totally out of character for me, and every time completely enjoyed all of my food! Only wish is that they would add blended iced fruity drinks or even a limeade to the menu, but nevertheless I LOVE this restaurant! People are always friendly anf cookies are bomb! I love the food is reasonably priced as well. Thank you Turkey Red for another wonderful experience today! I'll be back soon!

Great food!!!!! Awesome service! I had never tried Kombucha and I was given a sample to see if I would like it. Customer service like that is awesome!! We had the hummus appetizer (with great bread!) and beef stew. Tender and juicy with the perfect amount of meat and veggies. A good selection of deserts which we took to go. You'll love it!

Drove up from Wasilla last night and so glad I did. The Brie berry appetizer was delish. Tart and sweet plus cheese. So good. The Mediterranean salad reminded me of my time in Greece and the Salmon special was flavorful. The only recommendation would be to cook the salmon a bit less. Make sure you ask for it medium. It was pretty well done. Service was prompt and food was great overall.

Vagabond Blues is a laid-back and inviting restaurant with an exciting Alaskan decor, attracting both locals and tourists. The service is friendly, and the ordering process is quick and easy. The menu offers less traditional breakfast options like Alaska quiche, mushroom panini, and ham and cheese croissants, all of which are delicious. The place can get crowded even on weekdays but offers great coffee with latte art if you opt for a mug instead of a to-go cup.
Great place for less traditional breakfast. We had Alaska quiche, mushroom panini and ham and cheese croissant with coffee. Everything is delicious. There were also plenty of options for cookies and other pastries. Get the larger coffee cause you'll finish it faster than you think. Restrooms are down the hall. Folks are super friendly and place is spacious with a nice store across the way.

I always enjoy the coffee and food here. I used to come here to work a lot but I had to switch to other spots because it gets WAY too crowded even on weekdays and the internet starts to slow down when a lot of people are on it. On a better note, if you get a mug instead of a to go cup they will do some latte art and they make a really great tasting latte :)

It's a cozy little cafe with sweet treats and friendly people working the counter. We had the pumpkin bread, cinnamon rolls, and hot chocolate and they were all delicious! I'm as bit of a cinnamon roll connoisseur and these were some of the best I've had at a restaurant--soft and fresh with really good pecans and caramel on top. We'll be back to try other things. They had a really good selection of cookies, bars, etc.

Their menu always satisfies my cravings whether it be soup, salad, panini, burrito or pastry. Plenty of vegan and GF options. Enjoy a selection of pottery and work from other local artists that decorate the cafe.

I haven’t seen latte foam this rich since I paid $9 for one in Seattle. Here you have top notch coffee and friendly people besides. Haven’t tried the food but if the coffee is any indication, 5⭐️.

My favorite coffee in AK! The food is so fresh & delicious every single time. I have a photo of "The Bella." A veggie panini. I normally like meat on my sandwiches but this veggie sandwich was too good to pass up. All of the sandwiches & paninis ... and soups... and salads .... you name it, are amazing! You can't go wrong with what you order here.

4.5 if I could give half ratings here. The zebra hot chocolate (half white and milk mocha chocolate) was delicious. They gave me a coffee though for my first order but they redid the order once I told them. The space is a bit closed off, but other than that I like it. It looked like they had locally made products (like cookies) as well which was great to see!

Ordered a chicken salad croissant sandwich. Although the scoop of chicken salad that was plopped on a huge piece of leaf lettuce and then that placed on a large croissant was good, the sandwich would’ve been better if it was actually made like a sandwich. Maybe even cut it in half. Really disappointed and not worth the price.

Found Vagabond Blues on a whim. What a gem!! Our breakfasts were fabulous; quiches, breakfast burritos, ham & Swiss croissant and so many sweet treats. The lattes we so pretty and delicious! Thank you for accommodating our party of eight. We also enjoyed chatting with the local coffee guys getting pointers on our trip.

Spacious coffee shop with a cozy feeling. Excellent place to grab an espresso based drink and locally made pastry (or more!). Fnd a table with friends or a corner to retreat in - read or get lost online. The espresso is excellent, dark with a good balance of nutty andcsweet finish.

Stopped here on our last afternoon in the area for a quick lunch, and we really enjoyed it. It has a great view of the mountains. Hubby got a panini that was huge and delicious. I ordered a bowl of the lentil stew. Flavors were good, but it needed salt. The cookies were huge and yummy. Would recommend.

We stopped for some coffee and food. Very popular and busy on a Saturday morning but the line moved pretty fast. Food was great! Kids liked the free books in the hallway.

I came here with a group prior to our day trip out to the glacier. We wanted a quick place to stop and get breakfast before our drive. The restaurant is laid back and inviting, with exciting decor from Alaska throughout. There were all types of people dining from locals to tourists such as my group. Service was good and the staff was friendly. Ordering is done at a counter and they bring your food to your table and seat you when it is ready. The Breakfast Burrito was amazing and the perfect way to start the morning. They offer it in varying flavors/meats. If you haven't yet had Reindeer in Alaska, here's a great place to try it. The burrito was nicely pressed to give the shell a crispy texture. Overall, it was a great quick stop and a nice way to support a local place.

A great place to meet friends for coffee and a breakfast burrito. Personally I like the reindeer sausage breakfast burrito the best. If you rather have something sweet then you'll find a huge selection of cookies to cinnamon rolls. The coffee and food tastes great, but the service is a little slow. If you don't have your food in 5 minutes then you need to speak with the barista. Table service here, so have patience.

I could eat The Matanuska everyday - so delicious! The cookies were just ok - if you want the absolute best cookies around, walk a couple blocks to The Baddest Batch! A little frustrating that when we ordered the Lunch Combo, we were asked if we wanted a cup or bowl; we chose the bowl, then when the order came out we didn't get any bread and we found out we had been charged separately for the items and no bread was offered. If the bowl isn't an option for the Lunch Combo, don't ask if you'd like a cup or bowl. Plenty of seating inside if you want to dine-in, plus there's a little shop across the hall if you're looking for some unique and local handicrafts.

Restaurant
The Palmer Alehouse is a vibrant tavern in Palmer, a small town north of Anchorage. With over 40 taps, this lively establishment offers a wide variety of beers, accompanied by hearty pub food. Their spacious patio hosts a summer concert series, adding to its appeal. Situated in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley region, also known as Mat-Su, the Alehouse is surrounded by towns like Butte and Wasilla.
Love this place. This is the fish and chips special, and the second time I e eaten it this week! (Half is gone in the picture) The Rock pizza is phenomenal as well as chicken calzone! I don’t even like pizza. Chicken bacon ranch salad is great, and I don’t even eat bacon! This fish and chips though..love the breading. Just enough and not overkill like most places and tastes great. I’m handicapped and hostess remembered me and sat me at an accessible table and she was very lovely. Taylor, our bartender. AMAZING! Hopefully u get a chance to be served by her! Check it out, definitely worth the drive to Palmer. Big and lots of TVs.

Fun little ale house! Visiting from the lower 48 where big hand cut steak fries are just not found any more. We were pleasantly surprised that they exist here. The halibut taco was great and I enjoyed experiencing a local IPA. Our waitress was very helpful in the choice! Everything looks great here and the outdoor entertainment area looks super fun. Highly recommend for a fun day or night out.

In general I go with the pizza, burgers or other sandwiches. However, their salads are really good and Large as well. The number #1 reason I come here is for the environment, both inside and outside, it’s relaxing and fun with friends and family. Staff is always extremely helpful and good service. But my real secret is the fantastic large selection of local beers and my absolute favorite hazy IPA on the menu No Woman No Cory! Great fun environment inside as well with guitars and other decor! All of these categories considered, it is hands-down, the best restaurant to go to in Palmer!

Great customer service for a table of 12, quesadilla and pulled pork Macaroni and cheese was delicious, another top favorite is the black and blue fries. Drink selection is great as well.

Great Location, Food, and Service by JESS! The restaurant was clean and well staffed by friendly employees. Restrooms were available and clean. The Menu has something for everyone and the Portions were above par and cooked as ordered. The Pizza was very good as was the rest of our order. The Beer list is extensive and they have a nice cocktail offering. It also has some nice History. In the area give them a try

The food is consistently pretty great here. But for my issue described below, I would probably give it 5 stars. My one issue when I went for lunch recently was that I paid almost $18 for a Philly Cheesesteak that had very little steak, and that felt like a pretty high price for mostly bread and cheese. That being said, the sandwich wasn't bad, just was a bit underwhelming. We also ordered the pizza and mac & cheese, which were both excellent. Service was a little lacking when it came to getting refills on beer / drinks, but there is a staffing shortage due to COVID so we didn't get too upset - just keep this in mind when ordering. One thing to keep in mind is that no one, including staff, was really wearing masks or seamed to care about social distancing. So keep that in mind if you are COVID conscious during the current surge in Alaska.

This place was fantastic! It was our first time here. Service was amazing. I can't recommend their blue cheese dressing highly enough...the Cajun blue cheese fries were to die for! All food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend!

Galina our server was amazing. She was attentive, preemptive and gracious. The Margarita and Pizza was 5 stars wonderful. Thank you Galina for your attentiveness and hospitality. I will return mainly because Galina made me feel happy to have me. A place which acknowledges you for more than just a paying customer says a lot.

The atmosphere here is neat. It almost has an antique type feel to it. The few times we have ordered from here, we have had the burgers and fries. The pizzas I see scattered about on the tables look pretty good as well and will order one of these next time. We sat at a table by the kitchen, and they were busy back there. They must be a little short staffed as the line cook had to yell for waitresses or runners as the orders started to line up. One thing I enjoy at a restaurant is when you run out of your drink, the waitresses is right there with a refill or asking if you want a refill, that did not happen here. the waitresses were very very busy here. Parking here is along the street with a few spots in the parking lot. Prices are fair. They seem to have quite a selection of local beers, although we did not consume any alcohol. I mean, who does not enjoy pizza with beer, right? Need to get out of Anchorage for a little while? Come here for lunch, I highly recommend this place and will be back for the pizza next time.

I have attempted to love this place. I contemplated long and thought deeply about this review based on several visits. The GOOD: This restaurant is charming inside, and the bar is long and can accommodate several walk-ins. There is a decent selection of beer, and the cocktails are usually a hit. The exterior seating area is the major win!👌 Well done. The views, the stage, and the fire pits are welcoming and make you want to stay longer, especially on warm sunny days. They also do concerts and are a significant place for entertainment in Palmer. The SO-SO: Service is a hit-and-miss. Sometimes you get a fantastic server; other times, you get the one that forgets you, and other times the one that's just OK. Really, that's any restaurant, so I am not too upset here. The BAD: The food. The only thing on the menu that is somewhat consistent is the pizza. Out of the several visits over the last five years, it is so inconsistent that I don't know why I came back for this last visit. The fries were so greasy, the burger that was supposed to be spicy wasn't. The kids' burger is more like a slider, and we felt the server should have advised us that for an 11-year kid, perhaps the burger is just a slider. I can't reasonably come back for the food. Overall, I'll return for the events, but the food is out of the question.

Finding parking during busy hours is tough. There are multiple locations for parking. There is every kind of sport game playing which is so convienent. The food is great, the atmosphere is always lively, and the waiters and waitresses are always fun and you can tell they love where they work. Always rotating their tap which makes it so fun for tastings. Love this place.

Great little ale house with a variety of local craft beers on tap. Had their outlaw burger and it was very good! Large portion size, very flavorful. The fries were fantastic! If you are in the Anchorage area, and looking for a great little Taste Tour, then make the short drive to Palmer and enjoy dinner and a brew!

I recently had lunch at the Palmer Ale House and not only was the food delicious, but the service provided by Lindsey, Corey, and another staff member whose name escapes me was truly exceptional. Notably, when days later I requested a copy of the receipt, they went above and beyond to track it down for me. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist me was above and beyond. Overall, I highly recommend the Palmer Ale House for anyone looking for fantastic food paired with great service. I will definitely be returning in the near future!

Palmer ale house has its own laid back vibe the food was good. As usual we arrived late 20 mins to closing. The hostess promptly sat as at a table by the window without any hesitation. Comfortable with many screens to look at. And a ton of beers on tap I had a drink called the frequent flyer very blue and very tasty.

The staff at 203 Kombucha were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their wide selection of teas, juices, and kombuchas. They provided helpful information and offered samples for the juices and kombuchas, which was a great way to try out new flavors. The purchasing process was clearly explained to ensure there were no surprises during checkout. This cozy little place is definitely worth returning to.
Love this place, and so does my 2 year old. I come in to work sometimes or read, and she loves dancing here on Thursday and Friday evenings. Everyone who works there is so nice, and it's kid friendly and welcoming to everyone. I love seeing the mix of people who come walking or rolling through the door. Oh, and the 'Bucha as my kid calls it is fantastic too.

Spectacular. Couldn't get enough of the samples so I took some to go! I loved how I got to combine tap flavors to make my desired kombucha. What a splendid time at the bar listening to live music and casually chatting to the brewer and other employees

Staff was friendly and super helpful and informational about the teas, juices, and kombuchas! They offer samples for the juices and kombuchas which is awesome when trying kombuchas in my opinion. They also clearly explained the process about buying and refills, definitely could tell they wanted to make sure you knew before purchasing so there wasn't a surprise when you rung out. Cool little place and will definitely be returning!

We came here twice during our brief stay in the Palmer area. This is such a cool place with delicious Kombucha. My personal favorite was the Pink Lemonade, while my husband's favorite the Maple Persimmon seasonal option. The staff was very friendly, and the location is great. It was next door to a gift shop that we got a lot of unique and local gifts. Highly recommend.

The Kombucha here is NOTHING like the store-bought Kombucha I've had to date. Absolutely the best Kombucha I've ever had! Unique model where you can sample a variety of flavors, then just sit and sip some favorites in a chill atmosphere. They even have a little corner with kids' toys and books. Highly recommend visiting, especially if you're new to Kombucha!

If you're a lover of kombucha, this place is for you. Can't say for the other things they have because I didn't have any of it but I'm sure it is all fantastic. Oh and to top it off, the employees are such great people.

I'm not a big fan of kombucha but the two I tried here were delicious! The pink lemonade and rhubarb drinks were so good and if I'm in the Palmer area again I will absolutely come back! Service was welcoming and the atmosphere was unique!

Great local place to hang and drink fantastic on-site brewed Kobucha. Limited seasonal brews with local / geographical ingredients are a plus! Bring kids, look for open mic and chess nights are a few additional perks.

THE BEST KOMBUCHA I'VE EVER HAD! A kombucha that was not only palatable but delicious! I didn't like kombucha until I came here. I would always try it, but it would be too vinegary and sour. I did a flight and my favorite kombucha was the crow berry. I liked it so much, I got two small bottles to take back to my hotel. Five stars! Highly recommend. I'd go back. This place is worth the visit. You won't be sorry.

I so glad I got to stop in here. I met Brian and Anthony. They are fun and very knowledgeable. I got to try a few different Kombucha teas and then I tried ate one of thr best things I have ate ... it was their avocado toast. Oh man. So yummy. So go eat, drink and have a good time. You won't regret it.

The staff is super nice, it has a very nice niche atmosphere with kombucha made locally! Their avocado toast is also very well done and totally worth the price. If you're into kombucha or coffee, this is the place to stop by for sure.

Brian and David the owners are amazing, they love to truly connect and help fill their customers with love. Records are available to choose from to set the mood. I highly recommend a flight of all the flavors and a small pint of the small batch. The avocado toast is excellent.

A fabulously diverse selection of small batch kombucha with regional, seasonly inspired flavors. The “sappy sour” was my favorite - nice bite with a smooth finish. The owner greeted us like longtime friends and let us taste a new batch straight from the barrel. LPO
