The Woods Restaurant, located at Big White Ski Resort, offers delectable cuisine sourced from the local area. Set in a cozy and traditional environment, patrons can also enjoy the beer garden during warmer seasons. The food here is exceptional, with a diverse menu that caters to vegetarians as well. The staff, despite being seasonal employees on a ski hill, provide surprisingly excellent service.
Say you had a long day skiing and don't really want to hit up more pub of cafeteria food, say you have kids, say you are staying on the hill and just want to dress up and go out.....or not dress up. Highly recommend this beauty! Our server Chloe was absolutely amazing and super attentive to accommodate our family and make our little 3yo birthday extra special! The cocktails were wonderfully crafted by the bartender Rosie who came to check in after and the manager nick even popped by to make sure we were happy and say hi. The menu is well refined offering a small but delicious sounding selection and includes a good selection of "kid fare". The woods burger was not overly huge but delicious with a perfect side of crunchy delicious fries!

The worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. I ordered the Vegan Cobb salad and subbed the vegan cheese for cheddar. The server asked how I liked it and told her the truth, it was terrible. She said the manager would come talk to me and he never showed. They didn't take it off the bill (maybe because I ate most of it? I was starving, and I just wanted to get some veggies.) Canned mushrooms, canned chickpeas, mangled Avocado, dirty plate, dreched in water.

My husband and I recently ate at The Woods at Big White for my birthday dinner and wow, we were truly impressed by the amazing food on the new menu. We even ordered a tomato soup, which you would think is a fairly simple dish, and it completely knocked our socks off. Combine that with the friendly service - it was the icing on my birthday cake. We will certainly be going back soon!
Stephanie Ostash — Google review
Dined here once for lunch, and once for dinner. Had an absolutely incredible short rib dish here at $38. But there is so much wrong; cocktails are incredibly weak, service is friendly but a bit of a disaster, waited 30 minutes for fries and there’s one bathroom - two if you head into the kitchen. Not a bad spot but could be better!

Nice place. Had the special chicken taco with mango salsa and focaccai bread with fresh tomatoes and bocconcini cheese. All were tasty.

Great restaurant in an excellent location. Staff were amazing and really looked after us during our 3 visits. Special shout out to Declan for the birthday cheeseboard complete with candle. Every dish was excellent

Warm welcome, extremely attentive service from Scarlett: sincere, knowledgable, funny, efficient and friendly!! Menu was varied and interesting…I loved the rabbit starter and the duck rigatoni main was fabulous. Lavish luscious cocktails and wine! Our party of five had a great dinner! Can’t wait to return to The Woods!

I mean what can I say... The food is amazing. The staff are surprisingly good for seasonal staff on a ski hill. The location is perfect. In the summer it's beautiful sitting outside having a beer and some munchies, in winter it's a very welcome, warm location after a day of skiing. I've had many meals here - mostly vegetarian and they've all been very good. Okay. Updating this the following year. I have figured that their menu changes regularly. Some menus are really good, but I have to say today was not. Just check in to see what they have before you go.
Jessica Hedrick — Google review
Had a great lunch. Enjoyed the updated menu. Had the gnocchi with buttermilk chicken on top. It was tasty and very cheesy. The selection of bc beer on tap was decent. I really like the Ghost ship IPA.
John Holman — Google review
A technical menu with lots of fancy words that I'm unsure the kitchen knows what they mean. The Salmon sounded good, looked good, but was sadly dry and over cooked and shriveled, the lentils were warm and as a chef I can say it was definitely sitting a while under the heat lamp. My husband's pasta dish was over powered by the tomato sauce and the duck confit was basically mushy 😒 His side order of fries was decent though! My over priced $18 expresso martini was sipped slowly as I've never had a drink that expensive and my husband did enjoy his $7 beer. I'm all for a beautiful menu with fancy wording but maybe slim it down and add some options for hungry skiers that just want a good filling meal like ribs and an awesome grilled but filling sandwich, maybe with a hearty sourdough and mouth watering chowder after a hard day skiing😋. I fully respect your menu and it was very exciting to read, but overall very disappointing.
Suzanne Graham — Google review
A little pricy for what it is, the burger here was not bad but not great either. I liked the toppings that they had in the burger, but the patty honestly wasn’t that very good and a tad overdone. Their menu is quite limited, so I kind of expected the items that they did have to be really good. But my own expectations are to blame in this case, overall not bad. The decor is nice and I like the style of the restaurant.

Stopped by for a cup of drink and lunch, everything was perfect. Would visit again for a drink outside the restaurant with the fireplace.

My dinner tonight was amazing, I havnt had a dinner so nice in a long time. And I would love to thank scarlet for this amazing night. She made sure we were happy and always had a full drink in front of us. The food here tonight was so good, definitely 10/10 I had the short rib and it was the best I had. I would have loved to had dessert but I was so full I couldn’t. This restaurant is run very well and I havnt left a review for a restaurant in years so that shows how much I really enjoyed this experience. Thank you again Scarlett and the staff for this wonderful experience tonight.

The food was fantastic and the drinks were on point! We had the beef short ribs, the Coq au vin and lamb. All were delicious! Staff were super friendly as well, this place is well worth a visit!

Cantina Del Centro at Big White is a remarkable addition to the limited selection of restaurants in the area. The Mexican cuisine served here is prepared with care and attention. Patrons often find themselves intrigued by the various dishes adorning nearby tables, as each flavor stands out distinctly. The service provided is delightful, ensuring that even during peak times, guests are well taken care of. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with ample natural light coming through its large windows.
A wonderful find and a fantastic addition to Big White’s small pool of restaurants. Lovingly prepared Mexican food. We had food envy, asking about dishes on all the tables around us. Flavours were fresh and distinct. Lovely service. Restaurant is light and bright and there is even a large terrace for warmer weather.

We went in for dinner and drinks on Australia Day and this place was definitely a VIBE. We enjoyed our entire experience from the fun atmosphere, music (live DJ), food and delicious drinks, to the incredible team who worked together to ensure we were well taken care of. Our bartender Sam made us some delicious margaritas and was extremely friendly and helpful making sure we got a table on a busy evening. We were even treated to a new feature dessert made with sponge cake soaked in tequila 🤤. I could tell the manager was very invested in making sure his team ran smoothly and that the patrons were happy with their visit. We had sworn we would never come back to Cantina at Big White, however, this experience has successfully redeemed us as customers.

Had a great night and some lovely food. Also, special shout out to Megan for the awesome tequila flight tasting! If you want a night of Mexican this is the place to go.

Awesome food, but the service could use some help. We went two nights in a row, and both times were seated and no one came to see us until 30-40 minutes later.

We went to Cantina Del Centro at big white and it was phenomenal!! The restaurant was super busy but they still made sure to provide great service. We’ve been to the downtown location and found the quality was just as good if not better. Ashley was our server and she was amazing and made our night out that much better :)
Landen Conville — Google review
Absolutely horrible service, good chips and dips. We were sat at a table and after 20 minutes still hadn’t seen a server. I went to the bar to ask them if there was an ETA on service which started us getting drinks. When we were finished we waited for someone to come bring us the bill or check in at any point, which never happened. Once I found someone to bring our bill, they did comp our drinks which was nice to see, at least the bad service was acknowledged. Sad because the food was pretty good, but would not recommend.

Cantina Big White is THE place to be. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting the mountain if you want the best service and a great environment. Shout out to both Sam and Gabe who took amazing care of our group.
Emilia Muscardin — Google review
Five stars all around! Sam the bartender was awesome, the drinks came out fast and tasted UNREAL. The food was so good and it was such a vibe in there. If you come up to big white do yourself a favour and stop in for some tacos and a marg. Thanks guys!! <3

We have gone to this restaurant five times during the 2024 ski season at Big White (and would go more often if we were local). Loved it each time! Best margaritas on the mountain! The manager, Colton, and the rest of his team offer top notch service and the food is delish!
Amie Lear — Google review
honestly don’t normally leave bad reviews but was a pretty poor experience when I got cut into after waiting 45 minutes in line by a fellow named “Wilson”. Once I brought it up, the bartender who was likely friends with the individual who cut in line with kicked me out after I was visibly upset about the person cutting in line. I was asked to leave, which I was upset about since I wanted to spend the rest of the evening with my friends. In my opinion, not how I would run a restaurant and the “buddy buddy” between letting your friends run the bar seems disrespectful to those who own it and want to run it like a proper business. Sorry to the owners but a one star for me.
Ryan O'Hearn — Google review
This was possibly the best outing I have ever had. My friends and I had gone for my best friends 21st celebratory dinner. Not only was our server absolutely awesome, the food was killer! Would definitely recommend it to anyone asking for good places to eat in the area!
Terry Otteroy — Google review
Yeah the margaritas are good but I could probably drive to Kelowna, get the ingredients to make one, drive back to Big White and make and drink probably 3 in the same time it takes for the servers to take your order for said margarita. This is definitely a locals joint where friends and the events of last night come first and guests come last. I guess that means there’s an atmosphere?

What more do you need at big white. Great food, delicious drinks and the staff is just top notch. Such a nice addition to all the pub food options on the hill
Jace Anderson — Google review
This is my favourite spot on the hill. The drinks (margs and caesars especially) are exceptional. Service is prompt, friendly and efficient. Food is authentic, with a very accommodating selection of grub. And, of course, the view on the patio is unparalleled. The epitome of a perfect après ski location. Also- I was very surprised to see that Cantina Big White didn’t have a better review. This place is consistently unreal. Sam and Colton run a tight ship here. Cheers!

The restaurant Black Forest Day Lodge offers fantastic cuisine and a delightful ambiance, especially when seated outdoors. While the servers may be overwhelmed, they still perform admirably. It serves as a perfect stop for those enjoying a day of snowshoeing. Additionally, it is a wonderful addition to the resort and provides great convenience for families seeking a break before hitting the slopes again.
The chickpea curry was delicious - got it twice. The cherry yogurt danishes are to die for! Mmm so good! Beautiful big windows with views. Nice atmosphere. Ski in ski out. Clean modern and inviting.
Patricia Gorczyca — Google review
Nice spot if you want something other than a poutine (they have that too, don't worry). You can also buy a beer here!
Patrick O'Donovan — Google review
This lodge was great two years ago, but we just came in for cinnamon donuts as their website menu on Google says they serve them. We arrive and discover they don’t serve donuts and the menu of cream of mushroom tastes like a corn starch broth with no mushrooms that is so awful. I’ve complained and service offered no help and I’m forcing it down as one yogurt parfait, a ginger ale, chai tea and soup ran me over $30. Big white needs to seriously improve this venue. It use to be so good
Gillian Krol — Google review
Great food. Cool atmosphere...especially if you can get a seat outside! Only reason it’s not 5 starts is because their servers are run off their feet. They each did a great job anyway. Great pit stop during a day of snowshoeing.

We enjoyed mid mid-day ski lunch here several times during our trip it was one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Many advantages here! - You can ski-in and ski-out - You’ll get 10% off with a season pass - The food is delicious - You’ll have a beautiful view of the mountains Gonna come back here more often ⛷️❄️

The pho was bad, raw meat with some undercooked noodles. Deepfries were okay.

With covid they have the stairs blocked off on the lower level so in order to get upstairs to the restaurant area you have to climb a steep Snow Hill with boots on it's awkward.
Stephanie K — Google review
Great addition to the resort. Really convenient for families to get the kids in for a break and back out on the hill. Food is good and plenty of seating on both levels. The burger boss food truck outside is a great addition.

We were at Big white last week and ordered pizza from there twice. Wow! Awesome pizza and service! Thank you so much. I’m not a huge pizza lover( maybe just picky) but my husband is. I have to say it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Definitely recommend if you visit Big white ski resort.

Underground Pizza is a fantastic place to dine! As a family of three, we visited frequently during the ski season and were always impressed by the delicious pizza, attentive service, and cozy atmosphere. The quality of the ingredients really stood out in the pizza, while the staff was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great dining experience.

My fiancée and I showed up just after they closed their doors looking for takeout. It was late in the evening and all the other food options were closed. Despite being closed they welcomed us in, made us a pizza, and insisted we had a beer with the staff. It was by far the most wholesome and considerate gesture that we didn't expect. We truly felt how lovely the staff and this community is. It made our night and ended our vacation in the best possible way. Thank you so much Underground Pizza, you made a wonderful memory that we will always associate with Big White.

Very good thin crust pizza - tried the Moon Dog, Hawaiian, and Johnny Canuck. All 3 had awesome ratio of sauce to toppings to crust.. nothing was overwhelming. Crust in the Johnny Canuck had basil in it which was a nice touch. Sauce was slightly sweet on all 3 pizzas. Service was good, too. Well worth visiting.

im still shell shocked about my experience at underground this evening. when i picked up my pizza and opened the box in my car i was extremely disappointed with how it looked. it was burnt and very unappealing. i’m never the one to complain but i felt as if i should since i spent 60$ on it. i went in and kindly asked if they could remake my pizza because i was unhappy with how it tasted. the workers there were SO KIND and understood however the managers came over and told me off…… simply because i told them if they could remake it. The lady who i’m assuming manages or own the place began to raise their voice at me telling me this was my fault. i do recognize i was late for pick up but the pizza shouldn’t have looked the way it did. making me feel so uncomfortable. i couldn’t believe how rude they were. especially to a paying customer who simply said they weren’t happy with their pizza. i think it’s uncalled for and completely unprofessional to talk to at a customer (during a dinner service) they way she did when they have a small complaint. i won’t be coming here again. the owners do not treat people with kindness. it’s sad.
Isabelle Russo — Google review
The pizza was quite good- my family prefer the crispier dough and crust type and they all liked that part. The problem was the smell of the restaurant. I cannot pin-point what was causing it but my biggest suspicion is the wet carpet they laid down to absorb snow droppings from ski boots. I appreciate how they considered the safety of their customers but oh my goodness, my kids and I had a hard time swallowing the food all because of the nasty smell. It was so overwhelmingly strong and almost pungent that it got mixed with the flavours of the food. I felt so bad that my kids had to endure the odour during our lunch time. Keeping the front door open did not help. The food is alright especially if you are dropping in for a quick bite after hours of skiing and when everybody is starving. I really hope they regularly swap out the carpet with new ones or at least give them a deep clean once in a while.

A Cozy Retreat in the Snow: Underground Pizza In the heart of Big White, British Columbia, where the snow-laden landscape paints a picturesque backdrop, lies a neighborhood gem - Underground Pizza. Today, I and a tribe of 7 hungry kids embarked on a dining journey that went beyond the simple pleasure of a good slice. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by a warmth that went beyond the cozy atmosphere. The staff at Underground Pizza isn't just in the business of serving food; Hospitality is at the core of what they do. The greeting was not merely a formality; it was the prelude to an evening filled with delicious food and genuine care. Seating seven kids at a table can be a daunting task, but the team at Underground Pizza handled it with an effortless grace that left me in awe. The atmosphere was not just warm; it was a sanctuary from the snowy night outside. The owners and their team have crafted a space where families and friends can come together to create lasting memories. Now, let's talk about the main act – the pizzas. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors that dance on the palate. The crust, crisp yet yielding, served as the perfect canvas for the rich tapestry of toppings. But what truly sets this establishment apart is the seamless fusion of warm service and delectable food. The staff and owners aren't just professionals; they are hospitality storytellers, weaving a narrative that goes beyond the plate. It's the kind of place where you don't just come for the food; you come for the people, the service, and the warm embrace of a neighborhood gem. As I looked out of the window onto the snowy landscape, I realized that Underground Pizza isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's a testament to the idea that dining is not just about sustenance; it's about creating moments that linger in your memory. So, if you find yourself in Big White, make your way to Underground Pizza, where every slice tells a story, and every moment is a celebration of the art of hospitality.

The restaurant 6° Bistro received a positive rating of 4 stars for its food and overall experience. The reviewer particularly enjoyed the Sunday 7 course meal with wine pairing, appreciating the opportunity to learn about a local winery and the wines they were served. However, they advised against having a heavy lunch before attending as by the 5th course it became challenging to finish all the plates.
I had an exceptional dining experience at Six Degrees Bistro. The ambiance was enchanting, highlighted by a warm outdoor fireplace and inviting fur seating. The intimate setting allowed for personalized service, making us feel truly attended to. The set menu was a culinary delight, offering exquisite options for both meat and vegetarian preferences. The addition of their new signature cocktails added a perfect touch to an already remarkable meal. I highly recommend Six Degrees Bistro and look forward to returning many times. A definite 5-star gem!

Amazing dinner with excellent wine choices. A definite must if you desire an intimate lovely dining experience. I enjoyed this rib eye steak with bearnaise, baby potatoes and lovely salad. And for dessert Creme Caramel! Most excellent.
Ally McLennan — Google review
The Bistro is excellent in all the important ways. 3 of us booked a later table which turned out to be a good idea because the Bistro is small and when full is a bit loud. And so, the small crowd thinned out quickly after 8:30. The menu is broad enough to make you feel like you have good choices to make and everything we ate was delicious. And while you are at it, they have some really excellent local wine. It is not remotely inexpensive, but totally worth it. Truly an unexpectedly excellent evening.
Oliver McGinley — Google review
4 stars for the food and experience. 4 of us did the Sunday 7 course with wine pairing. It was great to learn about a local winery and to be educated on the wines you were drinking. Id advise anyone doing the Sunday seating to not eat a heavy lunch. By the 5th course it was getting difficult to finish our plates. Six Degree Bistro loses one star for their service. The waitresses were not educated on the wine they were serving, they reached across the table to collect plates, place dishes down, and distributing wine to each one of us at the table. I believe there is potential to make this place a much more professional establishment with the proper training of etiquette for their servers. I would eat here again with my friends and family.

Had a reso made a month before Valentine’s Day. They canceled the reso a day before leaving us stressed out and scrambling, and keeping our deposit. I understand if they had an emergency but someone on their management could have the decency to be in touch with us, give us our money back, instead of sending us an automated email.

In February, we celebrated a significant family event at 6 Degrees. Right from the very start, the experience was amazing. Ana was incredible with the planning and throughout the event. Denver and his kitchen team provided extraordinary food. Taneeka and Tash worked tirelessly and gave exceptional service. Every single guest commented on how much they enjoyed the evening and how they wanted for nothing. Everyone at Six Degrees made it such a memorable occasion. Thank you sincerely from our entire family

Had a mediocre meal, with incredibly poor service. Although we sent the fish course back, as the fish tasted like it had gone bad, we were still charged the full price. When we expressed surprise, the server was very rude and dismissive. In my experience, service should be impeccable at a place serving prix fix at the rates demanded by Six Degrees - but she behaved like waitress at a cheap diner. Wine selection (by the glass) is very limited. Atmosphere is nice and warm but the sound is so loud in the room that it is difficult to hear others at your table. Definitely disappointing.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and invited another couple that did not drink and were gluten free. The sparkling white wine on arrival is a nice touch but our non-drinking friends were not offered an alternative. Same when the bread came out. Nice crusty bread for us but no alternative offered for our friends (despite pre-warning of dietary requirements). As for the food, unfortunately I chose badly. My starter was centered around a big piece of semi-cooked beetroot, my main consisted of a nice piece of slow-cooked beef but was so salty, it was near inedible. And the dessert was served with truffled ice cream…. Yeah, nah. It’s a cozy spot and the staff were nice enough. I wouldn’t go back though.
