Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market

Mentioned on
Market
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market is a colorful and bustling marketplace that offers a variety of fresh local produce, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. It's a small market by African standards but is still worth visiting as the fishmongers display an astonishing variety of seafood early in the morning.
This is one of those old style markets so typical to sea nations and so unusual to standard inland european. For me, first time seeing such live and of course it cannot be compared to any documentary movie. Fish, herbs, spices, fruit, vegetables, essential oils and all kind of local products in one place. So colorful to the eye, so rich to the smell :) Did not have chance to visit early in the morning, yet it was very nice experience. Small market but definitelly has the spirit.
Radek Horak — Google review
Just as many market on the world, colorful, many locals items, fish, vegetables, souvenirs and more. It's a good place to shopping if you do self catering. It's worth to see.
Luciano Barbati — Google review
Bustling, colorful crowded market place for all types of local produce, fruits, vegetables, spices and seafood. On the first floor, one can shop for souvenirs and handicrafts.
Manojkumar Nambisan — Google review
Really enjoyed exploring these markets and seeing the variety of local fresh produce, fish, herbs and spices. It has a vibrant energy.

The market in Victoria.nice fruits, fish and tourist stuff.if you want something else than beaches and forests go here and walk around
Peggy K — Google review
In my opinion, its the main attraction of Victoria. Fortunately most of the attractions are close to the Sir Selwyn Clarke market and easy to reach by foot.
Phil Svanee — Google review
Nice and colourful market in the center of Victoria with some shops around. You can buy fresh fish, fruits, spices, flowers and more. On the second floor you find clothing and souvenir shops. Worth a visit.
T S — Google review
Mainly fish and vegetable market. Some vendors selling spices, chutneys and chili sauce. Fish is fresh. For 50 - 75 SER it got gutted and cleaned, ask for it. Vendors selling packs of 5 fishes for 200 SER.. Usually two fine and three so so fishes. A 2.5kg Red Snapper is around 300 SER and absolutely delicious. No choice of seafood aside plenty of selection of fishes. For vegetables checks the stalls outside of the market hall. Seemed to me that quality is slightly better. Inside the market hall ignore the chutneys and chili sauce, they have a blunt taste, super salty and over priced. Sum up: good buying fish and vegetable anything else not really interesting.
Max Mustermann — Google review
It's a mission to find parking to get to this place. There's a small lot near Boba Republic but its got more taxi spots. We used a parkade located a few blocks away. The times on Google do not correspond, we got there 1.5 hours before closing & most stalls were packed up. The stench is expected as there is a fish market side. With what we could see, some lovely fresh produce & souvenirs like spices, tea, honey & vanilla. Worth the cultural experience if you're into that kind of immersion when traveling. The area around the market is busy due to shops & traffic can be quite intense. Little regard for pedestrians.
Melanie N-P — Google review
Will you cook in the Seychelles? Get up early and shop here. Some of the best fish and fruit we have ever eaten. BTW, don't be frightened by the birds around the fish. They're basically working here - destroying insects and any fish debris.
Petr Skalička — Google review
It was a clean and good market where we ate and shopped some gifts but you can get multiple spices, fruits, vegetables, clothes and flowers (almost everything). Worth checking it out!
Shimona Agarwal — Google review
Nice place to feel vibe of local Seychelles. It is expensive but worth of visit. On tje firs floor a few shops with suvenires. Many small shops all around
Anel Okic — Google review
Very nice open air market. Fish, fruits, vegetables, etc on the lower level. Clothing and other shops on the upper levels.

First thing to do in mahe seychelles was to visit the local market in Victoria city center. It has a lot of seafood especially fish inside this area.

Beau Vallon Beach

Mentioned on
Beach
Outdoor Activities
Beau Vallon Beach is a well-known and beloved seaside destination on the island of Mahe, offering a variety of water activities such as swimming, surfing, snorkeling, windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing and jet skiing. The beach boasts a picturesque semi-circle of sand framed by palm trees and takamaka trees that provide shade from the tropical sun. Although the swimming is excellent at Beau Vallon Beach throughout most of the year, strong waves can occur during June to November.
Beautiful sandy beach. Super nice if you want to spend a day by the sea. Some cute stray dogs are also in the area and very friendly
Verena Pichler — Google review
Longest beach on Mahé (3.5km). If you want to see a really nice beach, just go somewhere, anywhere else. This one is touristy and ordinary. Ton of hotels there.
janina .cz — Google review
Great snorkeling, variety of fish to see. Massive sea urchins, sea cucumbers. Fantastic beach, soft sand. Ideal hiday destination.
Nobody nobody — Google review
Very big sandy beach, a few people, good for swimming not good for snorkeling. 🇸🇨
Mark?t — Google review
Love this beach ! Perfect for long walks, lunch and chill. You can buy fresh fruit and coconuts around the beach, hide in the shade of trees and enjoy the sunset 🌅 .
Malwina Ams — Google review
Really nice beach, but all beaches on Seychelles are nice so it's a tough conpetition. In my opinion there are many other more beautiful beaches than Beau Vallon.
Chirag Bhoraniya — Google review
Very nice beach with lots of options for food. Clean sand and sea. Great for families with small children. It ia the most popular beach in Seychelles so can get busy (but not too much). If you are seeking secluded beach paradise, this one is probably bot for you.
David Cacik — Google review
So lovely you can walk on the beach or the promenade there are plenty souvenir stores, food stalls, restaurants and pubs great place to be.
Farai Mushambi — Google review
The last beach we visited on the island and glad we went for just 2h. It is quite overrated. I am sure once it was amazing, but now is too commercialized and populated. When we were there there was lots of seaweed and water was not clear. If I were you, I would either miss it entirely, or visit just for a walk around sunset, which was truly amazing.
Yana Moyseeva — Google review
This is the most energetic and beautiful beach of Seychelles, the paradise on earth. It is possible to see people of all nationalities. We came from Turkey and we liked it very much. The beach is very clean, I recommend watching the sunset. It is possible to catch fish early in the morning, but beware of people swimming. If you want to escape the sun and relax a little at noon, you can visit the place called "boat house". I adore the people of this country and their respect for nature. Greetings from Turkey 🇹🇷🇸🇨
Emre Özkan — Google review
It was monsoon season, and the beach had a lot of seaweed at this time of the year. It is still a beautiful and wonderful beach. Need to come back here for the best.
Jimmy Wongso — Google review
One of the beautiful beaches on the Mahé Island 🇸🇨 It's quite big beach so you don't have to worry about crowds. Water is nice for swimming and relaxing. There are also many restaurants and take away options near the beach. Enjoy!
Vishal Raj — Google review
It is big and nice. Many turists and locals. On some parts there is a lot of nuts and oceans weed. Many bars and fast foods. Local specialities. Water is so warm, and not deep, soo god for kids
Anel Okic — Google review
Amazing views 😍 and very nice beach, very long, a lot of space. However I haven't seen any nice restaurants or bars around, just some small supermarkets before entering the beach. Better to have drinks and snacks with you.
Maxim Novikov — Google review
Pay Attention to Scammers. There are less waves than many beaches on the island. It is one of the most crowded beaches of the island. There is a very important issue you should pay attention here. There are thieves travelling on the beach and selling coconuts etc. They take your money and cheat you.
Okan Öznur — Google review
It’s very long beach, few people. Need to be careful on October when enter the water, sometimes there are stingrays near the shore (1-2 photo). On december it's wery big waves and a lot of garbage in the water ( 3-4 photos), highly unrecommend this beach on December.
n/a — Google review
Peaceful, clear water and great sand. Sunbeds are for hotel guests only. Doesn't have umbrellas, but has natural shade from trees. Don't miss the sunset.
Despina Anastasova — Google review
Beautiful beach with amazing sunsets. Good location too. You can find restaurants, ice cream shop, souvenir shops and others around.

Anse Intendance

Mentioned on
Bay
Anse Intendance is a remote beach located in the south of Mahe, Seychelles. It can be accessed through a forest trail or by car and bus. The beach features strong surf and blue waters that are rough for swimming but perfect for surfing. Visitors can relax under palm trees on fine white sand but should bring their own food and water as there are no restaurants or vendors nearby. Anse Intendance is easily accessible from the Banyan Tree resort road and offers breathtaking sunset views.
Beautiful place. Very gradual entrance to the water without stones, corals and algaes. One little bar, but without showers and WC. But The road to the beach is wery hilly - no comfortable for walking -> use a car, if you are not accomodated very near by.
Žaneta Andlová — Google review
Nice beach is about to be destroyed ! Somebody will earn much money with new apartments and hotel directly behind the beach. How government is protecting nature on this fantastic beach?
Michael Claus — Google review
For us this is far the most beautiful beach on the Seychelles! Easily accessible by car, a public parking is very close. There is a small grill bar that opens around noon. Great place for snorkeling
Vlado Štimac — Google review
This is a beautiful beach, but the waves were so high that we couldn't actually swim, it was even hard to get closer to the ocean. There are no facilities despite the very cheerful Summer Bar where they make wonderful fruit cocktails from frech fruits.
Balazs Zentai — Google review
It looks absolutely beautiful, but there is active construction going on so you constantly hear the noise rather than enjoying the smooth sound of the waves. The waves are quite harsh, and beach is quite steep. But the view is absolutely gorgeous.
Yogendra Godbole — Google review
Not really a swimming beach, nonetheless amazing. Big waves, decent sunset view, and it's empty most of the time. Banyan tree resort in right there so you can go and grab some food or drinks. Watch out for the falling coconuts, you don't want one of those to hit you on the head - on the bright side: finders keepers!
Branko Todorovic — Google review
Easily accessible from the road near Banyan tree resort, Anse Intendance has blue waters but rough for swimming, fine while sand and palm trees for resting in shade. Located in south, a bit far if you staying in North of Mahe. The beach has rich thick vegetation but absolutely no restaurants or vendors so carry food and water. Easily accessible by own car or there is a bus stop nearby
Bhakti Menon — Google review
Be careful. Google maps instructions for this beach are pretty bad, took us to a completely wrong and dangerous place, a dead end on a very steep road. Go through Banyan Tree resort road and search for "Intendance public parking" for better directions and not Anse Intendance. The beach is beautiful, but not much shade and also it is not advised to swim there, so not the best I have been in Mahé.

Gardens
Victoria Botanical Gardens is a picturesque nature reserve showcasing the stunning coco de mer palm trees, alongside housing giant tortoises and a spice orchard. It is an ideal place for families to explore while taking a break from busy city life. The gardens are well-maintained and offer visitors the opportunity to have picnics on its open lawn. Additionally, visitors can embark on tours of either the tea factory or Takamaka Rum Distillery to experience unique delights.
A must when you are in Victoria. Very well maintained. A good place for the hole family. You can have you picknick on the Open lawn.
Anja ?Alma? Andersson — Google review
Although the garden is small and the ticket expensive (250 SCR/person), I did not regret visiting it. There are many plant species that you can see there and of course the bats and birds and the big turtles 🐢 that are so cute and you can feed them with green leaves. When I visited the garden, I could only pay by card, the car parking next to the entrance was free and the garden was closing at 3.30pm.
Dr. Nantia Iakovidou — Google review
À lot of abandoned spots. Not really well maintained as it could be, especially few steps on the side of the main road. Online payment is not working with Visa and Mastercard (error comes on the last step), but they don't mind. No audio guides, very few information written about species. Overall OK, but could be much better, especially for this price.
Alexey Nazarov — Google review
Awesome experience but there’s plenty of mosquitoes; BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT! There were a bunch of tortoises there and the oldest/biggest one is 99years. The keeper brings you leafs to feed them which is nice and you can also pet them by rubbing their necks.
Ibrahim Abdulle — Google review
Lush trees and greenery, nice to visit, feels very natural and organic. Many trees and shrubbery and real soil under it all. Both paved and grassy paths to traverse. Includes a giant turtle enclosure/sanctuary which was good to experience
Auldrick Brown — Google review
Nice garden, beautiful nature, botanical, Coco de mer, turtles. Entry is 150 rupii. Parking is free for customers next to the garden. Very nice relax.
Mark?t — Google review
The botanical gardens can be easily reached by foot from the city center as it is very close (about 10 minute walk). We were impressed by the different beautiful plants. Some of them you find just as inside plants in Europe :) It was a nice experience to feed the giant tortoises with the provided leaves. Bring a mosquito repellent. The café was also nice and chilled. Loved the fresh fruit juice.
T S — Google review
Beautiful gardens to walk around. The natural palm trees and orchids are well looked after and intriguing. The tortoises are a must. Grab yourself a refreshing cocktail/ drink at the cafe. The staff are lovely and friendly.
Stephanie McDougall — Google review
We enjoyed it. It was a great way to spend a rainy and cloudy morning. The gardens were well kept and maintained. Stick to the main path - many of the smaller footpaths were overgrown of difficult to follow. The café in the garden is a real treat! They also have a tortoise encloser where you can interact with them.
Maché De Jonge — Google review
The price for the entry is really high, but what is not on the Seychelles. You will get inside huge botanical garden with lot of flowers. We really liked the turtles with open space where you can pet them. We disliked that you do not know where to go or what you are looking at. It is very confusing to follow along the paths. Be prepared for very hot and humid environment.
Daniel Vl?ek — Google review
Very nice for a relaxing departure day or transit. Also a good place to go if you are staying in Victoria. Entry fee is 250 which is alright. Be careful to stay on the paths as you can easily walk into construction or sewage canals if you go past some trees. Make sure to check out the Wildflower café.
Tamino Wettengel — Google review
The garden was nice, but smaller than we expected. It was 250 Rs for an adult and children over 12. Giant turtles were the main highlight of the visit. You can feed and interact with them. Kids (and adults:) absolutely loved it. Cafe was closed (4-20 August 23), which was a shame as we hoped to stop there. Parking was free and payment by card only.
Anna Lisicka — Google review
Beautiful place, well maintained. The tortoises experience was amazing. My daughter loved it. Highly recommended for families with kids. Tip: Stop by the cafeteria. They have lovely mocktails. All the team was lovely. Card payment only is accepted.
C.S. — Google review
I thought it was over priced to get in - but the ability to actually feed and hang out with the tortoises was absolutely worth it. I enjoyed the winding paths and the cannonball trees. The tortoises carry the price of admission though
Geririgged — Google review
very cool location, very nice tortoises, which you can feed, you just chill with them, there is also a very nice cafe which serves great burgers and fresh juice.
Glenn van Ekeris — Google review
Great range of plants. some different fruit plants only found in the sayschels Great to see the Giant Turtle breeding program is working 😲
Ian Hughes — Google review
Value versus price - not good. This is park, not big, beautiful, but nothing to do here. 250 rupi too much. Turtles cafe toilet
Liza — Google review
Can opt if time persists and a photo friendly place. Entry fee is 250 rupees per person only card payments accepted. Well maintained property. I feel if a guide is provided along with entry fee can be a worth location to visit.

Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
The Jardin Du Roi Spice Garden is a botanical garden that features a variety of spices and uncommon plants.
Very nice place to visit. The garden is huge and full of different plants for food or medicine. Everything is well marked and you can definitely see a lot of different flowers and fruits. Must see for everyone. I can also highly recommend the restaurant. The meal are delicious and the spicy tea is made with many different spices. It’s definitely something special. The owner is also verz friendly and welcoming. You can walk for about 1 to 2 h. If you are interested in botanic - bring more time.
Dario Arcuti — Google review
A place that deserves the visit! I was not expecting much but was overwhelming. Such a lovely place, with so much variety of plants and so well organized. We have a list with all species numbered to help identify them during the visit. To finish…the restaurant, where we end up to lunch a very Kreolle lunch. The food made with the ingredients of the garden, the spices like the cinnamon, the vanilla and others. The ice cream hand made with local flavors has lemongrass. The owners are lovely! I love it
Sandra Coelho — Google review
Nice views from the top. Many tropical plants, good informational guide. Everething is clean. Restaurant is too expensive, better to bring the food with you. But special cocktail from the garden fruits is fantastic
??????? ????? — Google review
Nice tropical garden. We went through the spice garden loop. We could see many exotic trees/flowers. It was absolutely worth going there. Bit expensive entrance fee and ice cream. But it's very tasty! The road is very steep and tricky. Just drive the road to the end. There you can park the car. Nice view against Anse Royale. It is also worth seeing their exposition with interesting artefacts such as the skeleton of the turtle. We took this trip during our visit to the southern part of Mahe together with takamaka rum distillery and craft Village (production of parfum). Take enough water with you and of course!!! Repelent!
Leona Wunderlichová — Google review
Plenty of different plants, fruits, trees…, including tortoise. Amazing view of the bay. A directions to the place might be more clearly marked, because the garden is placed on the top of a very steep curvy hill. Our suggestion would be to include more spices/fruits/sth in the shop since the offer is pretty much limited.
Tomislav Pozaic — Google review
This is a must visit if in the Seychelles. We stumbled across it looking for somewhere to have lunch. What a great surprise when came to this amazing garden with round a 100 different plants. You get given a map and guide to the plants as you walk round. It was fascinating to see all the different fruits and spices. They also have Coco de mer palms and giant tortoise. It is a long way up in the hills, so make sure you drive / get a lift
Stuart Barnett — Google review
One of the experiences that you should not miss when in Mahé. Reaching here by car is possible but it’s a steep climb. Definitely can be done by car. Not expensive. The manager and owner are super sweet people. You’ll get to see spices and fruits naturally growing on trees that you have been eating.
anurag verma — Google review
Surprisingly, the minimum net salary in the Seychelles is around 600 Euros NET...so, the people here are doing quite well, even sensationally well compared to the rest of the African countries. As a result, the houses specific to the island look really cool 🙄 Here you have the chance to see such kind of traditional house. Also, in the photo, Coco de Mer, the unique palm tree that grows naturally only in the Seychelles, which has the largest seed in the world up to 30 centimeters long and 18 kilograms - worth noting, of course, and the very interesting shape 😅
Bog Dan — Google review
The best garden, long family histories. U will get map with numbers and names. fruit trees, spices etc. See, feel, smell and even buy in the shop.
FixStop — Google review
Interesting place where you can see what fruits, spices and plants grow on the island. You get the map and sheet which says names of the plants & trees. Visited on Saturday, place was quiet. Entry was 175 rupees. Parking, restaurant and toilets on site. Visited in August 2023

There was one big reason we came back to the Seychelles: the banana crepes at the Jardin du Roi restaurant. They are exquisite. Never has a crepe been made to such perfection, with a sauce that delicious. It’s a secret recipe from the owner of the restaurant, and one that no one could replicate. Outside of the restaurant, the Jardin du Roi has always been our favourite place in Seychelles; far outweighing even the beaches and the sea. It’s a magical garden of herbs and spices; flowers and fauna; trees, old and young, majestic and magnificent; a garden of secrets and pleasures. An old garden, with trees that tell stories of their seasons. Some ripe with fruits of every island variety; others with age-old roots intertwined like the fingers of old lovers. The Jardin Du Roi is the kind of garden we carry with us, long after we leave the Seychelles. Not unlike the mouthwatering banana crepes of Madame Georges. A gift to come back for. To add: despite the restaurant being closed for the National Day holiday, Madame Georges , upon hearing that the reason we were in the Seychelles, was my son’s birthday request for her banana crepe, managed to whip up two of her magical crepes for my kids. On the house. This is a lady who continues to imbibe the magical soul of her Jardin du Roi; it’s secrets and gifts flowing to all who seek its stories and pleasures.
Muby Astruc — Google review
The location is very nice and is situated uphill. Approach road is steep. So it’s better to drive you car up to the front entrance ) but the place has a few car park slots. It also has a restaurant. While the place is good, the entrance ticket of SCR 175 per adult is very high
Suresh S (SugeesUs) — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here with so many interesting and beautiful trees and plants to see. The trek round was through jungle areas so decent footwear is advised Plants and trees are numbered and you are given a sheet which tells you what they are. There are also several information boards. There are a couple of enclosures with the giant tortoises in and a cage with cute bunnies and guinea pigs in which I was told was for children to pet! We were given a very friendly greeting and welcome when we arrived and chatted to the current owner. Our visit here was most enjoyable and great value for money.

First of all, the location is perfect, it was just a different and interesting atmosphere from the entry, glass doors then a small garden wall on ur left and an asian open restaurant on ur right where u see chefs at work. Rest of the restaurant was as breath taking. Good breeze, clean, friendly reception and good food. The food options in Mahe are not that amazing. But Bravo definitely brightened our day .. their menu is extensive so had plenty to suit lots of cravings - the usual pizza, burgers and pastas plus a good sushi menu and the location is right by the water. Fresh food, decent pricing, excellent variety and really friendly staff. We will definitely visit again

Good food and, very importantly, a nice shaded patio. I have been tasting Octopus curry everywhere. This place did not disappoint. The killer prawns (hanging on a skewer) were also delicious. Once the order comes through, it's a bit hard to get the attention of the staff to get the bill, nice lunch, prices seemed alright too.

Great location on the water's edge, and very friendly and down to earth staff, with an awesome island vibe and good music. The food has great flavor and presentation, the portion sizes are huge. The smoked fish is great in various salads and other meals. Reasonable prices. Seating available for small or large groups, families, or even solo diners. Good for birthday celebrations. La Scala is a luxurious and authentic Italian restaurant located on Mahe Island. The restaurant offers outdoor seating, high chairs and ample parking options. The menu features a variety of Italian favorites such as seafood, pasta dishes and pizza. Guests can enjoy their meal under the stars or in the comfort of the indoor dining area. La Scala accepts reservations and serves alcohol.
Mrs. Silvana (the owner)- her involvement in the daily operations added a special touch to our experience. The ambience was delightful, and the food was authentic and delicious. Mrs. Silvana's passion and attention to detail shone through, making our meal not just a dinner, but a memorable experience. We highly recommend La Scala.

The restaurant opened 15 minutes early than the 7:15 pm announced time, we were accommodated although we didn’t have reservation, big thanks for that, although we received strange looks at the start!!! Despite the simplicity of the furniture and old fashion, the sophistication in service is well noted. Since it’s an open restaurant, the weather was quiet warm, but the standby fans did help. Mrs. Torsi, the owner was very hospitable and recommended few dishes that were very delicious. The food was prepared with passion and it was very delicious, although the presentation can be improved, but did not affect the taste. Ample parking in front of the restaurant. Very well recommended.

Restaurant is highly rated for its excellent service and food quality and quite deservedly so. Very Friendly owners, helping you out with selection of food and wines and fresh catch of wish waiting to be grilled on your choice. Some of the seats are overlooking the ocean. The staff is well trained and extremely courteous and ready to help you with everything. This is one of very few restaurants which do not charge a seperate fee for service, but they definitely deserve their bit, because of their warmth and style of serving food. Their red snapper in garlic sauce with some tasty wine makes your day. They also have very nice pastas to delight your taste buds.

No matter how many days you have in Mahé, La Scala is a must! In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Italian food but everything here is exceptionally delicious, the spinach and ricotta ravioli and the tiramisu in particular! To top it off, the staff are super attentive, friendly and polite. Lovely to see the owner in there herself too, taking orders and clearly taking pride in her restaurant. I only wish we had more time in Seychelles to visit again!

How about a cold beer , hot prawn salad and the best views of Seychelles ? Well that’s not a fantasy , that is what is on offer at this sea food heaven. We loved the place , the service and the ambience of La Scala. The lady who also happens to be the owner of the place is very courteous . I tried snails for the first time and to be honest I found it just ok. Other than that the prawns and the lobsters were great. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended if you are a sea food lover .

The oldest and most famous restaurant in Seychelles, Marie Antoinette supplies Creole Seychellois food. It is housed in a historic colonial mansion and enjoys a relaxed atmosphere. The menu has remained unchanged for many years, including batter-fried parrotfish, tuna steaks and chicken curries.
We wanted to try some creole cuisine and we took a dish recommended by the waiter. Was a good choice and it was enough for 2 persons. I recommend this place if you visit Victoria, it’s pretty close to downtown.

As we stay at Hilltop Boutique Hotel which is next building to this restaurant we came to visit and try Creole food. What I can say? Delicious one! We took set of different dishes (chicken carry, fried fish, papaya chatni, rice, vegetable salad, mango salad and something else). Really nice wine per glasses. Yummy dessert made of sweet potato and banana. There was a private party outside so we had a chance to enjoy live music. Singer has magic voice 🔥👍 awesome experience. But most lovely thing is that they have turtles there! Huge Seychelles Turtles! I'm impressed ❤🙏

Gorgeous place to eat authentic Creole cuisine. The place is beautiful ( an old colonial house), staff are very nice and a massive compliment to the chef; our food was delish. Don’t miss it if you are in Seychelles

Loved this little treasure near Victoria market. Traditional Creole food, quaint atmosphere, spacious restaurant, tortoise and fish… went there to try the traditional food with my family. We ordered the set that had chicken curry, tuna steak, grilled fish, sauces, salads and some fritters. We ordered an octopus curry additionally. The food was amazing. The restaurant was big and airy with a great view. Totally recommend.

A very familiar restaurant, to enjoy the food calmly. We ask the tasting plate only for one and it was enough for two. So many flavors only as the kreolle cuisine does. Delicious! It has parking car

We went to this restaurant because it is right next to our hotel and we saw it had good vegan options. But we were a bit disappointed as the vegetable curry was too salty, the lentils as well and had too much garlic, the fresh juice was way too sweet. The salad was very nice.

Authentic delicious creole food served with a local flair. Getting to this location is a bit tricky, lot of sharp turns and a steep driveway. Once you get settled in however, the delicious and large amount of food is apparent. For our group of 3, we ordered the signature board for two (similar to a buffet style) plus one extra entree. All the items were delicious. The mango salad was a highlight, super sweet and tangy. Chicken curry was a highlight as well. We also ordered the garlic prawns which were perfectly cooked, crispy, delicious, fresh and flavorful. Tons of fish and we were struggling to finish all the food that we ordered. Great place that accepts credit card as well.

Place and food was very good! Even interior of the restaurant is quite interesting! The only thing I would advise to improve - clean the tables better! Since some of them are with glass surface and its visible that they are greesy!!! All the rest was really nice!!

Lovely family restaurant, every dish we tried was very tasty and full of flavour. My personal favourite are the aubergine fritters, best I've tried so far! The staff were amazing, super friendly and talkative. We even got a small tour and learned about their giant turtles :)

Nice little restaurant a short walk past the market up the hill. Rear seating area has the tortoises in and the front area has a great view over the harbour

It should be considered a must place to visit. You will enjoy Creole food. The place, the decoration, the food everything in there is amazing. A tip for the desserts....I tried the caramelised banana, simply an inspiration for your mouth.

We had our last dinner in this restaurant. They serve local cuisine which was very delicious. It was a nice restaurant. Also there were old tortoises in their garden where you can feed them… 🇸🇨

Lovely hidden gem, if you are in Victoria and hungry, definitely stop here. Bit of a hike uphill from the city center but worth it. Go for the set menus and order the vanilla ice tea and enjoy! While waiting for the food you can feed and photograph the turtles.

very good food, went there with my father and ordered a plate for two, delicious and a lot of food! the price was fair (~50 EUR for this plate) the restaurant has 2 cats, who are very sweet, but it won’t be that sweet if a person allergic to cats comes in. fyi they do have in the backyard some turtles, I hope they enjoy those conditions, I am not a fan of seeing animals in “cages”, putted there just for entertainment. this is the only reason I gave the restaurant an overall 4 stars. the service, ambient, staff and food was very good.

One of the best restaurant in seychelles that offers the local creole delicacy. Like the tuna and curry. There are a lot of aldabra tortoise inside this place.

This restaurant serves authentic Creole cuisine. I think it's a good thing to try the local delicacy, though it might not suit the tongue for everyone. But in general, I am good with the food, especially the curry and fish. They have a lot of Aldabra giant tortoises in the premise. Nice experience.

The perfect place where to buckle up and enjoy an exhilarating ride through an authentic top notch creole meal. Going for the menu is an absolute no brainer. Nice staff and good timing, colonial ambience, fair bill. Not to be missed!

They offered a lunch pack for 450 SCR with multiple small dishes for 1 person, but I shared it with my wife and was enough. The food is delicious and worth it. I have added additional sweet potato fries that were good but not as expected when it comes to taste and crispness.

Located in the heart of La Plaine Saint Andre, the Takamaka rum distillery offers a truly unique dining experience. The restaurant occupies an old plantation house which has been beautifully restored, and features an amazing cocktail list and delicious food. The atmosphere is perfect for chilling out, unwinding and melding in the tantalising food served.
Delicious Cocktails with lots of alcohol!

(Translated by Google) While staying on Mahe, it is worth visiting the distillery and learning about the history of Seychelles rum. We happened to be guided by the distillery manager himself (the tour itself is free) and then we tasted 6 types of rum (paid for 150 rupees). We highly recommend it! The place itself has its own charm ;) And there are two turtles Taka and Maka 😍 (Original) Przy okazji pobytu na Mahe warto wpaść do destylarni i poznać historie seszelskiego rumu.

Coconut is very delicate. And boy, the most valuable thing there is. This is an attentive, neat and gentle staff. The bartender, aka the guy, told us everything and treated us. Hooray.

I love it

Nice views from the top. Many tropical plants, good informational guide. Everething is clean. Restaurant is too expensive, better to bring the food with you. But special cocktail from the garden fruits is fantastic

Repelent!

One of the experiences that you should not miss when in Mahé. Reaching here by car is possible but it’s a steep climb. Definitely can be done by car. Not expensive. The manager and owner are super sweet people. You’ll get to see spices and fruits naturally growing on trees that you have been eating.

The location is very nice and is situated uphill. Approach road is steep. So it’s better to drive you car up to the front entrance ) but the place has a few car park slots. It also has a restaurant. While the place is good, the entrance ticket of SCR 175 per adult is very high
