Live music venue
Café Roux is a family-friendly restaurant in the Noordhoek Farm Village complex, with a focus on delicious homemade dishes and hearty portions. The venue regularly hosts popular bands, as well as acoustic live music on Sundays.
Fantastic plant based meal (I had the B Leaf Burger with lentil burger and sweet potato fries) and my friend had the butternut salad. Both were amazingly good and only superceded by the excellent service from Loyal and the restuarant manager Vincent. Did raise the concern about the plastic straws though. That aside, a great experience which leans to a follow up visit for sure. 👌😁

The food is incredibly tasty and the viby atmosphere is family friendly. If you like chicken livers…theirs is the best ever! I also appreciated that the tea was hot.

Great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Food was amazing. Will definitely be going back.

Perfect place. Been here several times and our little girl also loved it. Food is delicious and service on point! Right next to the Roux is a play ground for kids. Thank you for having us!
G — Google review
There are enough parking lots (many people on weekends), small shops, coffee and ice cream shops, and restaurants around children's play areas, so it's good to be with children.

Went for a 3 course new years eve dinner. Great food but their beers are pretty overpriced. Friendly waiters and barmen, good selection of drinks, fairly fancy food as well and everything tastes quite fresh, which is definitely a win for me. They had live music which was quite fun and handed out a free glass of bubbles to everyone who booked the function. A lunch visit is also nice as the setting is very pretty in quiet little noordhoek. Would recommend

This is a really lovely place to eat outdoors at, especially with kids, because they have an outdoor jungle gym/play area. The food is absolutely delicious (also fantastic vegetarian options). I can't remember what it was called, but the roasted veggie pizza I had was incredible! Will go back specially to order that again. ☀️

In five minutes they managed to make us two of the best pizzas in our lives. And it is in a stunning setting. I wish that we weren't so rushed on our tour, but Cafe Roux made it happen!

I’m in love with this place,,, best coffee, best staff, best cocktails, and yet affordable… a must visit when in Noordhoek… The place often have lots of events, and I was lucky to be able to watch Jack Parrow’s live show 😀

What a gem! Loved the little village atmosphere! Faith, our waiter, was such a treat and made the experience even better! She reccomende the lemon meringue and chocolate cake to go with oir delicious coffe. Oh my word! It was simply to die for! Definately going back there again to sample more of the menu!

An absolutely delicious beef and bacon burger, followed by an excellent live show. I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Cafe roux and I will certainly be back soon. Thanks for a memorable evening!

We decided to visit Café Roux at the Noordhoek Farm Village for brunch and overall we had a good time. The restaurant was very busy, however we managed to find a nice big table for our group close to the big kids play area. They have a pretty big menu so you are guaranteed to find something you will enjoy. I had the Full Monty breakfast which really hit the spot and the other guests also really enjoyed their meals. It is good to note they also have a good kids menu available. Overall we had a good experience, however the service was a bit lack-lustre. Café Roux seems to be a popular spot and I saw some advertisements for live shows in the bathroom so if you are in the area maybe give them a google to see if they have anything going on for when you are planning to visit.
Dewald Reinke — Google review
Highly recommend the salmon breakfast. Simple but delicious. Cappuccinos are good too. Vibe is warm and cosy inside (cold day) place is almost always packed and it humms. I believe the evenings get somewhat festive with live bands. Great local establishment 👌🏼

The Cafe by itself was ok. Service a bit patchy, but good staff. The entertainment from Wonderboom have it that extra star. They always just ROCK. Absolutel Legends.

The Foodbarn Café & Tapas is a cozy and spacious mediterranean restaurant in Noordhoek Village with creative cuisine with global influences. The chef, Franck Dangereux, is internationally renowned and his restaurant, La Colombe, is known for its fine-dining cuisine. However at The Foodbarn you'll be treated to decadent food in a relaxed and family-friendly environment.
One of the absolute best food experiences i have had the pleasure of having. We ordered a few plates to share and each and every order was better than the next. This is an absolute treat and a definite "must visit" for something special. Even better that the restaurant allowed our Doggo to join us.
Cindy Joao — Google review
If I could give this 10 Stars I would. It's hands down the best food I've ever eaten my entire life! The group of five of us went in and all had something different and we all raved about how delicious our meal was. We took turns trying each other's and couldn't decide on a favorite. I would just take the sauce book alone because the sauce on the cheese fritters, salmon, and burgers was out of this world delicious! The staff was kind enough to still serve us even though we got there close to closing. It's a must-eat at restaurant if anywhere in the area.

The drive to this awesome place is scenic if you love lots of green, lights and mountain views. Don't miss out on the wine. The red was the best for me. If you plan to use Uber make sure to leave early or plan with someone to pick you up.

This was definitely one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Very busy so a good idea to book. The wine is very expensive but we brought our own very special bottle and happily paid corkage.
Anthea Harris — Google review
This had been in my radar to visit for many years and I eventually met up with some friends there I was slightly disappointed, the food wasn’t bad but it was just very heavy, especially on a warm Cape Town day It was a Sunday and very busy, we sat inside, which was very dark and noisy. Service was pleasant Good wine list, just found the sauces too heavy
Lisa Harlow — Google review
I had a really excellent lamb here as part of a delightful 3 course meal. Will return at the next opportunity. Wonderful sitting arrangements and a beautiful ambience.

Stopped here for a late breakfast on our drive around the peninsula and it was excellent. I had the Vegetarian special and you have the Persian Benny and we both loved our dishes. Coffee is very good. The village in which this sits is adorable. Plenty of parking. Cute playground for children next to restaurant

Had a lovely lunch with my parents this afternoon. Sea bass was cooked perfectly, as was the sirloin which was exactly medium rare. The chicken prego was great and the sauce just the right kind of spicy. Lastly the beef sliders were excellent as were the chips they came with. Only flaw was there could have been a few more of them!
Luke Mckend — Google review
Amazing food, good wines, attentive waiters Just a bit noisy
Gigi Koenig — Google review
Very friendly and attentive waiters. Lovely setup, good WiFi to get work done even during load shedding 🙌 Had their goat cheese as a starter and I gotta say it was LIFE CHANGING! The flavors were amazing and it’s probably my favorite dish on their menu. Highly recommend. Nicely combined with the Chicken Liver salad. Both dishes together make a good portion. To finish it off the rhubarb crème brûlée was a delight. Not too heavy or too sweet. Loved the fresh vanilla they used. A must visit in Noordhoek
Julia Kallweit — Google review
Was here 2 pax on 30 Aug for lunch as recommended by my guide. I had the 3 course meal while my wife had one main course. I had the Karoo lamb for main dish and she had the fish. After the starter was served and I eating just for a couple minutes, the main dish started appearing on my table and the server, knowing that I was still eating the starter did not bother to even ask, instead just placed the main dish beside my starter with a nonchalant expression. I had to rush through the starter, followed by beginning to eat a somewhat cold main dish because of it sitting on the table for some time. While it was cold, I could taste what the chef was trying to make by going into the mid section where it was still medium rare(the outer layer was well done). I did not finish the dish because of the toughness on certain parts, but I liked it. My wife’s fish was very unique and nicely done, I’ve never tasted anything like it, somewhat like a fusion of apple strudel crust with fish steak. The dessert was a little too sweet with caramel pieces getting stuck in the teeth, but as someone who is tolerant of sugar I was able to enjoy it. Overall it is a good experience, i loved the ambience even though the seats weren’t the most comfortable. Serving timing could’ve been much better.

This is the 3rd time we booked at the Foodbarn and once again, we were not disappointed. The waitress was very professional and very knowledgeable about the different dishes and the food was very tasty and well prepared. We had the bread basket which was enough for two people, which were followed by Tuna tatare and Tuna tataki. Our last dishes were the lamb chops and chicken livers in cream. We did not have dessert, but please try it as it's delicious. This is definitely a place to visit!

The Toad is a popular South African pub with a beer garden that serves up classic dishes like Boerepie and global fare. It's also dog-friendly, making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon with friends or family.
If you’re looking for a warm, inviting atmosphere with simple, hearty and wholesome comfort food, then this is the place to be. All your pub classics with a good selection of drinks. It’s family friendly and the staff are lovely.

Love this place. As close as we have to a traditional pub. Upstairs fireplace, free WiFi, craft beers and a cosy menu. (Menu needs a refresh though - only because I have been coming here for years!)
Neal Bresler — Google review
Looking for a place to grab lunch and also be close to the Noordhoek Farm Village (reviewed separately) we decided to give The Toad In The Village a try. The restaurant was pretty busy as we arrived at lunch time, however we managed to find an open table. They have a wide variety of different dishes and everything sounded very tasty. Some of our group decided to grab pizza and others went for the Hake and Chips option, which I can really recommend. What I liked was they had a small separate bar area available for those who only want to grab a drink. There is ample parking available as they are located on the Noordhoek Farm Village and they have indoor as well as outdoor (undercover) seating options, so it would be good for cold as well as warm days. We enjoyed our time here and will be back in the future.
Dewald Reinke — Google review
Perfectly acceptable pub grub with a good selection of beers on tap. The food is good if not mindblowing. Service is perfectly adequate. Something I have noticed which isn't attributed to the restaurant itself... But the noise in the outdoor area tends to become such that one battles to hear those at one's own table. This has been my experience over around 3 or 4 visits. I would visit again however.
Nicolas — Google review
This facility is smoke free upstairs and perfect to watch your favorite sports. The taco salad is my favorite. Also, check out the Toad on Boye’s Drive too.
Dr. Jane White — Google review
The toad website still advertises and has active links to get people to walk the toad 2 toad hike on strava and we were told by the manager that this promotion is no longer active, after the bar tender gave us the free beers with complete happiness. Instead of showing good customer service we were confronted by the manager with no people skills and had to justify and were asked to prove it, which we did, that they have false advertising. We refused to pay for the advertised free beers. Customer service sucks. Update your outdated website and educate your staff that this promotion is not active. To be treated like that as a customer is unacceptable. The strava link to the route is still active and has been created by the toad themselves. We still ordered and paid for our food. This is about principal and consumer rights.

Everything was top notch!! Buffalo Wings was a generaous portion, staff is friendly and on point. Guinness on tap :) The Village burger was the best!!
Selvino Meiring — Google review
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in years. How can you serve flat beers and how do you mess up a cheese burger?? There is zero communication between staff from kitchen to waiters to management. Avoid this restaurant at all costs unless you like wasting money.
JONO B — Google review
Quite mediocre during the day. The staff were friendly but somewhat sparse upstairs. I wouldn't recommend their chips - pre-cut and frozen variety, and not well prepared either. They were out of stock of Guiness (on tap) and mayonnaise (to make the chips more palatable)
Kirsten Nel — Google review
Lovely Restaurant with a nice variety of ontap beers. A very friendly waitress and generous servings. The Eisbein was massive, cooked to perfection, with a lovely mustard sauce. The Beef trinchado starter was flavoursome and enough to pass as a main mean. We will definitely be back 💪💪
Lize Smith — Google review
The wife and I went on a date night. We had a nice quiet table upstairs. My cheese burger, with a medium rare patty (requested by me), was great. My wife had her favourite pizza, The New Orleans. The Toad does not disappoint.

27/12/2023. 21:10. Upstairs. Has this place become a brothel now? So-called adult customers engaged in fondling and their tongues down each other’s throats at a food table, while other patrons are trying to enjoy a meal. The guy had his hand up her skirt half the time. Disgusting! And the staff turning a blind eye. Last I checked, public indecency in SA was considered a criminal offense! And just as we were about to leave another couple comes along and does the very same thing! Come on Toad! Why not just change your name to something more appropriate that depicts the adult entertainment image being portrayed, that way patrons know they shouldn’t bring their kids along for a meal there.
Danicah Cooks — Google review
Very lovely setting in Noordhoek Village. Fantastic food and great service. Even though the restaurant was very full, we barely blinked and our food was ready. Amazing onion rings! Melt in your mouth calamari and chicken livers that taste like home.

Great experience! One of the best Prego Rolls in Cape Town. The sauce had amazing flavours. Compliments to the chef. Didn't expect such a great experience in a pub restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Well done Toad in the Village staff. Will be back again and again. Aidan and Chantel

The Toad is a popular spot for locals and tourists. They are especially busy when there are big sports games on. They are popular amongst bar flies, groups of friends, and people looking for a lovely meal. There is inside and outside areas, upstairs and downstairs. Inside upstairs is usually warm and cozy from the fireplace. You should definitely stop by.

The Cape Point Vineyards is a beautiful vineyard located in Noordhoeks, overlooking the sea and the estates vineyards. They host a weekly pop-up market with a great selection of food stalls from around the world, paired with some of the best wine and beer in South Africa.
Unique experience! Great views, delicious food (picnic basket as well as the sushi) and super friendly stuff - from service personal to the head wine maker. 10/10. We’ll be back.

Average food at the Courtyard, nothing that special. Had the Chicken salad, a load of over salted couscous with very little chicken and wilted lettuce pieces on the top. Service is poor, inexperienced staff. But the views are beautiful. Won’t rush back.

Booked a sushi and wine pairing for 5.30 pm however we arrived to discover kitchen closes at 5 ……. Be warned their website booking system needs some adjustment. The wine waiter got us our fab wine tasting flight and we bought a bottle of their finest and settled in for a relaxing night watching the sunset / best spot in the area! We’ve been here so many times over the years with the boys and just love it! So many happy times spent here It’s now a sushi restaurant with special deals Sushi Wednesday and craft market at weekends. Holiday cottages in plan too - great spot when staying in Noordhoek.

The Thursday market is an incredible food experience, probably one of my favourites in Cape town in terms of price, variety and flavour. There is a large selection of gourmet offerings to choose from, and ample seating (tables or you can bring a picnic blanket) to enjoy every mouthful. I would recommend ordering smaller portions or sharing, so you can taste a larger variety. My go to, is the spring rolls. They had these oversized crunch cigars on special, 3 for R70. They also make their own (preservative free) sweet chilli sauce. For my main I had some bao and dumplings. The texture of both the steamed bao and dumplings were perfect. They were flavourful with the right balance of chili. I will definitely get these again. Lastly (probably the highlight of my day), were two perfect tarts by Sweet As Pie. My boyfriend and I shared a lemon pistachio and chocolate hazelnut tart. It was among the best deserts I've ever had. There was perfection in every bite. The tarts are R45 each. They do online orders and events as well. The market has a bar where you can enjoy a glass of something. The music was a bit clubby, but didn't detract from the overall atmosphere too much. A lot of young families and couples attend. It is the perfect spot for date night.
Andi Wolmarans — Google review
We booked the restaurant for a birthday lunch. We arrived and found half the tables empty, so we expected great service. Sadly, not! Waiter was totally disengaged and did not care. Warren- maybe find another career. You did not take care of us. We had to ask others to find you. We waited half an hour just to order deserts. The table next to us were also unhappy. Service was sporadic from the kitchen and bar. Another table close by were getting up to get their own drinks from the bar. Manager never checked on us. Food was average, location fantastic.
Craig Symington — Google review
Buzzing atmosphere with good food, great wine and amazing views! Limited vegetarian menu, but the options they had were wonderful. The staff were very busy with all their tables, so the service was not amazing but adequate. Will definitely visit again.

A few things to mention 1. Beautiful setting, grand views of the mountains and sea below 2. The drive up to the wine tasting and restaurant past the vineyards is clean and well kept 3. The wine-tasting area is relaxed as you will see in the photos. 4. The waiters are good, friendly and knowledgeable 5. There are gardens to come and have picnics on with the facilities picnic menu 6. No need to book, walk ins are okay 7. One can note that two of their white wines are award-winning wines and they are fantastic 8. There is a wide variety of wine prices so even through the place is very upmarket, they cater for all Things to take note 1. Cape Point wine tasting is mostly white wines although they have a small variety (2) of red wines to taste from 2. No wine can be bought and consumed on the facility without paying premium pricing, meaning that the bottles of wines you buy is advisable to take home rather than pay restaurant prices which are more than double in most cases. Some advice for Cape Point 1. Menus are tacky, some have food samples and wine blotches, would be sad to lose a customer because of that, rather laminate the menus and it's easy to keep clean 2. The menus are hand cut and not good for the eye. This was overall one of the best wine farm experiences ever. Highly recommended
Reuel — Google review
Beautiful venue and view but utterly disappointing service. We were unaware that a booking was needed. Apparently you can go to the courtyard without a booking. When the guest receptionist heard we didn’t have a booking he immediately ignored us, turned to the people behind us and helped them instead. The area we were told is the courtyard, turned out to also be a reserved spot. The ball on who were going to tell us it’s a reserved spot after being served already was dabbled around and we got rude looks from management and the employees. After a while a lady was sent to us to tell us she’ll move us. We weren’t interested in staying as the experience was already so bad. I don’t recommend this venue, very unfriendly and rude staff
Inge Venter — Google review
We had such a wonderful experience here. Firstly the views and decor are incredible. The wine tasting was very well priced and we enjoyed our wine while looking at the ocean, the vines and the mountains. We went to the Courtyard restaurant and had delicious burgers as well. The picnic spots look so comfortable and nice and we will definitely be coming back. The staff were very friendly and relaxed.
Michela Dal Maso — Google review
Possibly the best place in the world to do wine tasting with its spectacular views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. The wine tasting consists of 4 Sauvignon Blanc white wines with the option to order from a sushi menu. The sushi is delicious, but stay well away from the fermented fries! The restaurant and wine tasting are run separately, so if you want to order more substantial food, you need to move to the restaurant above. Overall, an excellent experience I will be recommending to anyone coming to Cape Town.
J. Briggs — Google review

Our stay was wonderful, it is such a beautiful and unique place with a view in the horizon over the ocean. It feels luxurious, loved the garden and the pond and the overall decoration. Wines were impeccable and they were explained to the detail by our amazing sommeliere Emily! Would definitely recommend, the best Sauvingon Blanc!!
Sara Ikäheimonen — Google review
Cape Point Vineyards is our (my wife and I) most visited place in the Deep South. This is a spectacular venue and we love taking our visitors here for lunch, or dinner for the incomparable sunsets. It is in Noordhoek and is the only wine estate on this side of the Peninsula. The food for me is always disappointing. I like simple, uncomplicated food. CPV does not do simple. La Grotto at Constantia Uitsig is my kind of food...this is not it. My wife loves their food. She probably has a more refined palate than I do. There are four places to eat, the main restaurant, the Courtyard, the picnic experience and the wine tasting experience, which has a sushi menu. The wine tasting and sushi is my favourite experience at CPV from a food perspective. The picnic is also fun and romantic. The restaurant and the Courtyard are not to my liking. Limited options and too complicated for my taste. The service here is awful. It's so awful it's a reason to go there so you can have a Fawlty Towers moment to remember. The staff are not well trained and have not mastered the art of unobtrusive attendance. They have mastered the art of unobtrusive, because once seated, they can forget about you for an hour. The staff could benefit from a visit to a wine estate like Vergelegen to experience what excellent service is. Maybe they just do things differently on this side of the Lentil Curtain. The food does come quickly when you finally order. The wines at CPV are spectacular. Book a wine tasting just to taste their world class Isliedh White blend. A superb wine, as are all of their Sauvignon Blancs. This is not a place for lovers of red wine who cannot appreciate a good white wine. Overall, I would recommend CPV. It is a gorgeous location. Do not go here to show off your latest Gucci bag, your hat the size of a small car, or your fancy trousers. Nobody cares. People often come in shorts and shoes are optional. Take a stroll around the pond and take some pics of the panoramic vistas of Noordhoek, Kommetjie and Chapman's Peak. Take some selfies for your Instagram. It will be a memorable day. For that reason I would give it an overall 5 stars.

Went to the Thursday evening food market and to watch the sun set in this beautiful surroundings. Food variety at the market was very good - the spring rolls, lamb neck and burgers were excellent obviously washed down with some lovely wine. Would recommend to anyone on a Thursday but get there for 4pm to ensure you get a good spot.

A Noordhoek establishment that has certainly used the the deli space creatively. Fresh baked goods, amazing coffee. This place is well stocked with useful and fresh foods. My partner and I went for dinner last night at the Food Barn. It was an absolutely incredible evening. We were greeted by a lovely hostess as we walked in and got a beautiful table near the window. We order different dishes so we could taste more of the food. Every single dish was so beautifully presented and the quality and flavor of the dish was impeccable. The staff were so professional and friendly and made the whole experience even better. On a side note, the decor of the restaurant is lovely and every few months the paintings change. Therefore the restaurant doesn't always look exactly the same which is very cool. It was one of the best dining experience I've had in a while - definitely worth a visit. Thank you Foodbarn for a lovely evening!
