Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden

Mentioned on
Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden is a beautiful botanical garden located in St. Thomas, which opened its doors to the public back in 2015. The garden is home to a vast array of tropical plants, including orchids, succulents, and palms, as well as various blooming flowers that add color and beauty to the space. Visitors can enjoy educational walks through the gardens while admiring the stunning views of the water from time to time.
We spent around 1 hour or so here. The entry fee is $10 and the parking is on the road, some distance from the entrance. I really loved the red foot turtles. The plants were nice look at and some of the flowers were beautiful. The lady at the check in was also very courteous and knowledgeable.

My fiancé and I had such an amazing time at Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden! Ms. Denise was very lovely and knowledgeable. She informed us about the various plants and species and showed us how to navigate the beautiful garden! Denise was wonderful and I could listen to her stories all day! The garden was amazing and we saw different animals such as tortoises, birds, centipedes, and lizards. We loved looking at all the plants and flowers and the walking trail was well thought out. There are large wind chimes throughout the garden, which we think is a great idea, because the noise coming from the large chimes was beautiful and mesmerizing. We will definitely come back when we are on the island! Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden.

Beautiful, lush gardens. Helpful and sweet staff gave us lots of insights about plants and birds in the garden. Come enjoy the beautiful orchids and balanced ecosystem consisting of a wide variety of plant life. Learned a lot about different plants. Great place to buy orchids and air plants. Highly recommend! Parking was easy.

Really nice garden with orchids and about 2 acres of paths to explore. The entrance staff were very friendly and happy to tell us about the garden and island. Paths include stairs. There is plenty of shade so it feels much cooler when walking around. It's a 30-60 minute self guided walk and it's well worth the minimal price of admission.
Josh Trubow — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous garden. Orchid selection was incredible, and we saw some flowers Ive never seen before. Extremely immersive, as well, which was a plus. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Plenty of places to sit down and rest, lots of local wildlife, and even some turtles and pet birds! Bought a few orchids to take home, and we will be babying them forever to make sure they flourish. We werent even planning to go while in St. Thomas - we were just trying to kill time before our flight. Don't make the same mistake we did! This place is a must-visit! If you are a nature lover, you would regret not visiting.

I highly recommend visiting the botanical garden!! Ms. Denise is the most sweetest, kindest, and knowledgeable person I have met on the island. Before we started walking around, she pointed out specific plants and gave us information about them. I was also able to purchase a beautiful hanging air plant! Ms. Denise shared with me how to care for my plant once I return home. You can visit the garden first and then head up to the mountain top.

Absolutely gorgeous flowers and a wonderful place on the hillside. Parking can be tough but the visit is very worthwhile. Knowledgeable and helpful staff and nice views as well. Worth the trip.

The place is lovely and the lady at the front desk was equally as lovely. She was probably the nicest person we have encountered on the island and the gardens were a joy to walk through. There are still spots under construction from the hurricanes but plenty to see!
Cory Race-McLane — Google review
My family and I enjoyed the gardens. There were interesting plants and flowers everywhere and views of the water from time to time. There were also sitting areas, wind chimes, and beautiful birds flying around. It felt like a very peaceful walk through nature. Highly recommend.

Super friendly lady running the booth loves what she does. The paths are taken care of but it is on a steep hill so nature takes its toll at times. Bathrooms are nice.
Logan Hickman — Google review
This was a great botanical garden, it’s high on the hill in a way where you can see a beautiful view of the waters. Also not to forget the place is very chill, ideal for families or even couples. Everyone managing this place is welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend it.
Ako Stark — Google review
Excellent gardens! Sooo many orchids, and educational! They really recovered well after the Ir-Maria hurricane blew theough in 2017 (almost nothing was left, and now it's beautiful again!). Parking can be a challenge, but well-worth the multiple trips around the blocks to find it.
Shelly Elliott — Google review
Driving by, this was an unplanned stop. $10 for non residents, $5 for residents. If you are interested in beautiful orchids, this is a great place to see them. There are a lot of orchids, some in bloom, others not. They also have some signing with the scientific names and explanations. Winding trails through nature, birds, coqui frogs, other plants identified, more than just orchids. They also sell some orchids.
Lynnae Thompson — Google review
Great space, the parking was decent and the ride up the mountain was scenic as was the garden itself, plenty of different flowers and beautiful birds to see flying around. The tortoise pen was also amazing with the little babies and many tortoises hanging out.
Alexandria Mckelvey — Google review
This is a hidden tropical paradise!! We own a flower shop in Virginia and are always interested in visiting gardens / rain forests when traveling to see plants and flowers in their natural habitat (verses in a box cut and packed neatly). We were greeted at the entrance by a lovely lady who kindly gave us a short tour and information as we began to explore. To say we were in awe would be an understatement! Hundreds and hundreds of varieties of things we’ve seen / sold and things we’ve never seen before. The winding paths through the mountain side are cleverly thought out with peaking views of Magen’s Bay along the way. We were delighted to spend our morning exploring and highly recommend this hidden gem during your visit to the beautiful island of St. Thomas.
Page Kremp — Google review
Beautiful rainforest gardens on a hillside overlooking stunning views. Phenomenal and active orchid curation, makes use of hurricane tree-fall in one spot as a nursery for new orchids. Feels larger than its footprint, and abundant mature trees and foliage with low-profile paths give the feeling of being truly immersed in the natural forest. Brilliant use of tree frog habitat and carnivorous plants keep insects from being pests on the trails - and signage that explains all of this is a huge plus. Knowledgeable docents, and the owner is often on-site and performing her own outreach. Also, if you want locally raised eggs rather than the "2 dozen only" you can get in the local Pueblo, their gift shop admission booth sells the eggs from their chickens for $8 (Dec 2023) which seems expensive until you price the alternatives 🙂 Benches are available at the various levels along the winding paths, and a couple of larger structures (a deck with seating at one view point and an open gazebo grouped with benches and chairs at another), but people with mobility issues would find the hillside challenging, and I would not try a wheelchair here at all, too steep and narrow... others will find it a nice exercise in addition to the beautiful and interesting surroundings. Parking is tiny on a one-way road, so visit this on a weekday off-peak time for best results!
Heather Preston — Google review
Spent a lovely few hours here while on St. Thomas. We enjoyed the stroll through the paths and were enchanted by the tropical atmosphere. No bugs because of their unique ecosystem! Yes, there are bathrooms and please remember that the road is one way when you leave!

Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas

Mentioned on
Reform synagogue
Sights & Landmarks
The Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas is a reform synagogue located in the Western Hemisphere and holds the distinction of being the second-oldest synagogue in this region. Visitors can take guided tours from October through July to learn about its fascinating history, including the ceremonial objects and building materials that tell a story of preference and community. The sand floors are especially noteworthy, and it's only two blocks away from main shops.
What a fascinating story of preference and community. This is the second oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. It's story is captivating and all of the ceremonial objects, asking with the materials that make up the building have a fascinating story. Addie clearly loves where she works and she brings the story to life. We even got a chance to meet the rabbi who is just charming. Make an appointment to your this synagogue - it's worth the trip!
Lynn Apel — Google review
I talked to the warden in my visit right after it opened at 9:30 am (on Dec. 27, 2023). The formal tour requires a minimum of 4 when there was only me. So, I was not really given a formal tour though the nice warden talked with me quite a bit on and off. But it seemed to me that he was worried about the security of the Congregation, presumably due to what had happened in Israel and Gaza. He told me quite a few things. When I asked him whether the sand on the floor was really symbolic for the Exodus of Egypt, he said that there might be 5 stories which are all true, including the fact that the sand wouldn't create much noise when the fishermen stepped in with their heavy boots 😀
Kin Yip — Google review
Interesting. Not very big, but we were welcomed by a nice man who does the upkeep, and he told us the whole story of the synagogue and some other local history as well.
JoAnne Drake — Google review
Certainly worth the visit to see the 2nd oldest Synagogue in the hemisphere. Sand floors are amazing. Only about 2 blocks off the beat and path of the main shops. Free to go in and take photos. Even if you not Jewish it's worth the trip if you appreciate such things.
Monica DeWane — Google review
Pretty cool synagogue. We had a private tour that lasted about 20 minutes. It was free and informative. Worth the quick trip to see it.
Scott Wakefield — Google review
What a beautiful synagogue!! It was worth the trip up the steep hill. We went in because we were hot and tired and this was one of the few places on our self-guided historic walking tour that allowed you to go in. Inside we found a beautiful facility filled with so much history. There's a museum with lots of information and photos that tell the synagogue's story. The rabbi was there and actually greeted us and answered questions. The sand floor and why it has a sand floor was fascinating information. We stayed for quite awhile to take it all in.
Lucille Thomas — Google review
Pretty awesome place. The second oldest Synagogue in the western hemisphere! The Synagogue floor is covered with sand. You'd think it's because the of the tropical location but actually it's just to make the service quite. The guide your is amazing. They are open for tourists again since the October 2020. Must see.

Lindquist Beach

Mentioned on
Beach
Outdoor Activities
Lindquist Beach, located in the protected Smith Bay Park, is a serene and beautiful public beach spread across 21 acres. This popular tourist attraction offers a range of amenities including a lifeguard, picnic tables, and bathrooms. The beach boasts soft white sands that lead to calm aquamarine waters, creating a picturesque setting enhanced by the presence of emerald green cays on the horizon. Lindquist Beach is not only favored for island weddings but also frequently featured in American commercials.
Beautiful!!!! Very very low key! We went here on our own from a cruise port (there were five others) and this beach was practically empty! It was great! The couple tours that passed by this beach only stayed for an hour or two so it was great! There were chairs that were free and there was a local there serving his homemade drinks! There are no umbrellas and not much shade so be prepared. There is a bathroom that is free near by. Make sure you have a way back to your port either by asking taxi or taking a chance and checking if there is one out by the lot because it’s not on a busy road. We were told to go back on a public bus which there are if you aren’t opposed to that. Luckily we got lucky with a taxi sitting in lot and they took us back. If you can bring some googles and snorkel gear because there are fish. Water shoes are not needed unless you are super sensitive. In the end definitely visit it’s beautiful and worth it!
Ash Ley — Google review
Nice paid beach on the east side of the island. Snorkeling was the best here on st. Thomas for us. Saw turtles, more fish than anywhere thanks to the reef on the right side, and eagle rays both swimming and FLYING above the waves. They leap out of the water chasing fish or just wanting to take wing and fly away. Amazing. Really friendly attendants and lifeguards. Lots of space, picnic tables, and great facilities. This mega yacht dropped anchor just out of the bay. Look up the raising sun yacht and see a true luxury and famous people hangout. Tempted to swim on out to the beast and see about breaking bread with the upper crust. :) There was more choppy waves here than we’d generally experienced so that was a bit of an adjustment and the parking is a short walk up the hill from the beach. $5 a person for adults plus $2 to park. Worth it.
Bryan — Google review
A great beach, however no food or drinks available. If you like to do snorkel you have to swim out of limits (to the right anto the left) to find reefs. Nice beach but not the best of the island.
Paco Ramirez Neira — Google review
Gorgeous secluded beach away from tourists. Very peaceful and pristine. Some trash from past visitors but in doing your best effort to leave nothing behind you're able to ensure just as mesmerizing of an experience for others. Gates for entrance close at 5, the walk from the lot outside the gate isn't that far.
Isaac Slings — Google review
One of the most pristine beaches of Saint Thomas. The water is clear and the sand is soft and clean. There are no bars or kiosks on site, but a few steps from the beach there is an equipped bathroom. Too bad it is one of the two beaches on the island where you pay a tax: $ 5 per person.
Francesco — Google review
Lindquist beach is beautiful and well maintained. $5 per person to enter. You can drop your people and gear off close to the beach, but parking is a walk away. No shade on the beach. Beach chairs available for rental.
Tammy Bayer — Google review
We loved this beach. We arrived here around 4 pm, paid the fee and spent nearly 2 hours here. We deliberately chose this time in order to avoid the crowds. By 6 pm, the beach as nearly empty and it made for a very relaxing evening. The beach is powdery white sand but bear in mind that it gets deep quickly. Although we had snorkeling gear with us, we didn't end up snorkeling since we had already done that Hull Bay earlier in the day. We cannot comment on the food and other facilities here since we never used them but there are showers near the entrance. We used the foot bath while leaving the beach. Highly recommended.
S S (Ride4Life) — Google review
Small fee for this beach and to park. Around $5pp and $2 to park. Ample parking. Very short walk to beach. Great restroom and shower facilities. Limited amount of chairs were available. There was a guy who had a cooler of beverages for sale. And then another guy went out in a float into the ocean selling beverages. No food, bring your own. Quiet beach. Super relaxing and absolutely gorgeous.
Ali Bug — Google review
This beach is one of the best kept secrets on the island . It is breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL!!! Serene, peaceful and the relaxation you didn’t know you needed. If you want to be away from the cruise ship crowds, or simply want to release all of your worries and unwind, this is the beach for you. This beach has plenty of parking. It’s also right across from the safari jus route which is $2 per adult and $1 per child. Close to Red Hook, maybe a $6 taxi ride. Pack a lunch or bring a cooler because there aren’t any food vendors. We did see someone selling drinks and chair rentals were only $5. This place is truly MAGICAL and should be on your bucket lists of beaches before leaving St Thomas. There is an entrance fee which is $5 per adult but free for kids 12 and under. There are picnic tables and a covered shelter with picnic tables. This beach also has an area to rinse off, restrooms as well as showers. Truly Paradise. If you want food, there’s a really good restaurant down the road called De Coal Pot.
Kema Y. — Google review
Our first beach we visited and it was beautiful. Not crowded at all. Snorkeling was great. There was a reef on one side and grass on the other. We saw tons of fish on the reef and 5 turtles, 2 stingrays and a spotted eagle ray in the grassy area.
Darren Dunn — Google review
Absolutely pristine and clean beach. No cruse ship excursions come here, so it's not crowded. Very nice building with showers and Restrooms. Beach chairs are $5 a day. There is no food available so bring your own snacks and drinks. No one is selling anything to you either. I saw 4 sea turtles and an eagle ray when I snorkeled.
Jessica B — Google review
By far our favorite so far on St Thomas. I think it is nicer because they charge a $7 per person to get in. Then they have chairs available if you desire for $5 each. Bathrooms are clean and open til 5. Not crowded but it is small so the prissy spots with shade go fast. Feel like 50/50 locals and travelers.
David Molner — Google review
Absolutely beautiful beach, the water was clear and warm. It is $7 per person to get in. They have a big parking lot. There were people renting out chairs. Showers and bathrooms were available. There were a few picnic tables and benches

We visited Lindquest Beach twice on our trip. COST - one vechicle with a party of five. The cost was $37.00 total, (2024). It was a quiet beach with shower house and restrooms. You will have to park close to the entrance and walk down to the beach. They will allow you to drive down by the beach entrance and drop off your equipment. Staff, work hard to keep the facility clean.
shane hall — Google review
The only place we saw large sea turtles. The parking here was a lot easier than other places even though we had to pay it was worth it. We were rushing to leave the park by 5 at the closing time. We later learned you could say later they just close the bathrooms and the gate. They do have a guy making drinks out of a cooler.

Beautiful white sand beach and crystal blue waters. Not crowded anytime we have been here! Take a picnic and spend the day. Sun and shade.

Water Island

Nature & Parks
Water Island is a 491.5-acre island that offers a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, biking, and visiting historic forts. The island features stunning beaches where visitors can snorkel and observe sea creatures like stingrays and colored fish. Additionally, renting a go-cart for $40 is recommended to explore the rest of the island after spending a few hours on the beach. Water Island also has ATMs available in case anyone needs cash, and there are good food options as well.
I can't even begin to tell you how much we loved Water Island! Just 2 moms, kidless, ready for a bit of adventure and relaxation. Took the ferry from Crown Bay, the gentleman who run it are terrific & Kind. When You arrive, you can just walk down to Honeymoon Beach. We rented beach chairs , snorkel gear, and an umbrella, definitely a must. Rent a golf cart for a few hours. The adventure is worth it! We had a speaker and a packed cooler of beverages, and off went went! Get shaved ice from the lovey couple! And have fun! Beep beep! Water was perfectly blue and had sea turtles swimming around. We did not eat at the bar, brought a few snacks. Local musicians showed up around 4ish too! It was our favorite day of our trip.

Very nice, I took a water taxi from St Thomas to Water Island to check out honeymoon beach. I brought my own snorkel gear and saw sting rays. Some people said they saw sea turtles but I didnt see any myself. I did see beautiful colored fish. I also rented a go cart, it was $40. I recommend spending a couple hours on the beach the jump on the go cart to drive around the island. Beautiful place. You wont regret going. They do have ATMs on the island, just in case your wondering. Food was good as well.

This was a lovely experience. The 10 minute ferry runs from St. Thomas every hour on the hour. Once we docked on Water Island, Rachel’s Rentals greeted us to take us to the golf cart rental place. We rented a golf cart for the day. We toured Honeymoon Beach which is absolutely gorgeous and then took a stroll to the Fort which is quite neglected and a tad dangerous if not wearing the proper shoes. Then we stopped off and had some shaved ice, said hi to an adorable puppy and bought some local art work. People do live here and it’s interesting to watch how they live their day going to the open air mail drop off right beside the dock, the mini grocery stores, etc. There are some fabulous homes here. It’s a gorgeous island with a “world’s away” laid back attitude. It’s considered the 4th US Virgin Island and if you get a chance to spend the day here, do it.

One the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen…mainly because I got to swim with turtles! Little bar/restaurant serves food and drinks. It was paradise until the party boat pulled up blaring foul music…kind of messes the beach vibe up…BUT the turtles!!! ❤️❤️❤️🐢 Best snorkeling spot for turtles!!!

Water Island is true paradise. No cars on the island and about 160 residents. It's heaven and I'm returning there when I retire. The people are wonderful me everyone is super cool and nice.

02.20.2023 If you are healthy and have no limitations walking here is worth it...there are signs to the Fort or Beach. If you have limitations or just want a fun experience rent a golf cart from Rachel's Rentals...make reservations...she's not a secret anymore and gets booked quickly! You can catch the ferry behind Tickles Bar on St. Thomas.

This place is amazing...quiet, charming, fun. From the busier honeymoon beach with a nice sandy beach and Dinghys bar and grill, to the rustic and quiet Limestone beach; there's plenty to do and see without being on St Thomas. Definately worth the ferry ride over!

Honeymoon Beach is a scenic coastal area with stunning azure waters, pristine white sand, and abundant coconut trees. This idyllic retreat is situated on Water Island, located near St Thomas. With its tranquil ambiance and limited population of 200 residents, Honeymoon Beach provides a peaceful escape from the vibrant atmosphere of Charlotte Amalie. The shoreline at Honeymoon Beach is characterized by charming palm trees lining a small bay.
A short ferry ride to this beach is worth the day trip. Pay $15 per person for the ferry ride that is offered on the hour throughout the day. Check the schedule for weekends and holidays. Free transportation is offered to Honeymoon Beach from the ferry drop off on Water Island. There are golf cart rentals available but reserve in advance. Chair and umbrella rental available for $10/each. Beach is located in a small, protected harbor so the water is calm. Busier than normal on Easter Saturday but not overcrowded.

I loved going over to Water Island! We rented golf carts to drive around the island and relaxed at this beach, too. The beach was pretty empty when I went. There was a fun floaty ring out in the water that was hilarious to watch my friends try to balance on to sit. The beach is beautiful.

We visited mid January. It was a gorgeous beach with full amenities from restrooms, restaurant, gift shop and water rentals. They also had chairs for rent. Amazing boats come in and out of the bay all day long. We hoped the 10 minute ferry over from St. Thomas and rented a golf cart to spend our day here. It was totally worth a day trip here.

Relaxing beach.. went here with the TurboCat Snorkel And Beach Escape.. They have portable restroom, 2 Restaurants (1 accept cash and the other 1 accept cash and cc), they also have different water activities like jetski and SUP.. Chairs and umbrella are also available.. Most of the people are from the cruise ship for an hour or so.. 1 souvenir shop where you can buy tshirt and other souvenirs stuff!

Free parking translates to $20 golf cart ride to beach.....That’s fine they are maintaining the area. Very nice, clear and clean beach. Bring your own stuff or you can pay a premium but they are friendly and your on vacation so. There are many other beaches that are absolutely free but if this place is on your checklist you gotta go. It is pretty neat and probably worth it.

The beach itself is beautiful but the package deals offered by the hosting company are a joke. The boat was 45 minutes late, you have to pay even more for an umbrella or good SUP and the beer is not very cold. Save yourself a couple of hundred bucks and take your own chairs, cooler, and snacks.

If you're looking for a unique place to have a drink or eat on Virgin Gorda, Duffy's Love Shack is worth checking out. You can find bubble tea, burgers, and live music here.
11 years between visits. Duffy's is a staple of St Thomas and Red Hook. Visited most recently during a short cruise stop. Wife and I rented a car. She has never been to St Thomas and we had 6 hours to get in as much as possible. I had few staples of places I wanted to make sure she saw. Duffy's was high on the list. It looked like it never changed. Amazing Nacho, Great Drinks and always interesting and welcoming Bartenders. Never pass this place up if you are in Red Hook. Check for Lobster specials. Get there early on those days or you will be stand in a Parking heat for a while. Lastly, don't be ashamed to ask for the bathroom key or grossed out with the seat. Its all part of what makes this place special.

Great deals for the Wednesday lobster night! It is a literal shack! Quite an interesting experience! It's a little confusing to get situated but it all ended up well! We got to enjoy the Wednesday lobster night with a 4lb behemoth of a lobster that was cooked perfectly!

I visited Duffy’s Love Shack on my vacation to St. Thomas. I love the food but I had to wait outside in the light rain for a seat to become available. The food was good although I came for the conch fritters but they was out at the time. I liked the drink and the bartender was very cool. The shrimp was okay I just was really wanting the fritters. The vibe and the music was great. I got a parrot cup as souvenir. I will definitely go back next time I visit the island.

I read that this was one of the best spots to get a bushwhacker on the island and it did not disappoint. The drinks were strong and tasted amazing! The bar has a great vibe - the music selection was top tier and the chickens were just chilling. I easily could have stayed here all day long. Love the unique touches they put into their drinks and it seems like every drink on the menu has its own souvenir cup. If you're going on a trip to St. Thomas you have to take the time to stop here you won't regret it.

Was such a vibe, probably one of the more fun dining experiences we had in the area. The drinks are great, they give you free cups as well to take home! We only tried the conch fritters but they were amazing. Would definitely come back. IG: @explorewithlorr

Crazy bar! Porcelain novelty cups shaped like pigs or parrots that you get to keep. Giant metal shark that moves and sprays fog when you order a drink. Fun cocktails. Great music. Located basically in a shack in a parking lot. The bartender was awesome, and the staff all seemed to be having a great time. The fun atmosphere truly was infectious. Fun for all ages: Saw people bring in their babies and kids, next to loads of college students drinking fishbowl cocktails. Really was one of the most memorable bars I've ever been to, and I hope to return one day! Food was nothing special but we just had appetizers. I heard the lobster was supposed to be great -available on Wednesdays. Still five stars overall regardless!

Bartender with long hair was on another level. So much energy and enthusiasm. Shack is what it is, so don't come expecting fine dining. Even live chickens wonder in and out. An array of randomly named cocktails and good choice of meals. Perfect venue from a ferry port/from st John's Trunk Bay. Other places I found and liked was surf n turf and Sea la ve (more up market).

This place was worth going more than once. Honestly our server made it fun, the drinks are served either in a regular cup or in a souvenir cup. The food was so delicious & so were the drinks. All around this was one of my favorite places while in St. Thomas !

We went to Duffy’s on St Patrick’s Day to hear a band. They set up in the parking lot adjacent and the space works really well. The staff was well prepared for a large crowd. We had food and drinks and it was very efficient for us sitting outside. The only challenging thing was that they don’t have signs or any notice for customers regarding the outdoor seating so people kept trying to sit at tables before they were ready with the space.

I love this place!! The staff is awesome the food has always been great and I love the souvenir cups. Parking sucks when it's busy, but if you hit this place when they open you shouldn't have a problem finding a parking place. It's a must visit when on the island.

Duffy’s Love Shack is small but the food, and service is an easy 5 stars! We stopped in twice to eat and tried different items on the menu and everything we tried was awesome. So if you are reading this review trying to decide if you should give them a try while you are in Red Hook you should do it! You won’t be disappointed. By the way try the shark tank and finish the meal with s’mores. The Pu-Pu platter was great too!

Cute restaurant in St Thomas with signature drinks! The "shack" is actually in the middle of a parking lot so no views from the outside dining area unless you like to watch cars go by. The inside is adorable though. We sat outside and imbibed in drinks which came in authentic drink glasses that you can keep. The staff was extremely friendly, laid back and accommodating. I had the seared tuna and it was quite tasty.

Duffy’s Love Shack in St. Thomas is a vibrant and fun tropical oasis that captures the spirit of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Nestled amidst the lush surroundings, this bar offers an array of unique and flavorful cocktails that are as colorful as the ambiance. With its laid-back vibe and friendly staff, Duffy’s is the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the island or to kick off a lively evening with friends. The decor is quirky and adds to the overall island charm, and the themed nights and special events make every visit memorable. If you’re in St. Thomas, Duffy’s Love Shack is a must-visit for a genuine island experience

Atmosphere and souvenir cups are fun. The grouper is a shame. Very thick, over cooked browned breading. Terrible. Good music. Sits in a parking lot.

Best parking lot bar that serves great food in the world! Everyone including the clientele were fantastic, friendly and awesome! We are in St. Thomas for a 4 day trip and will spend two of those nights here eating and drinking and having a ton of fun! The silly mugs you get to keep when you order specialty drinks are spectacular and make the whole getting drunk experience much more rewarding! Even if you do not drink, you have to come here and eat and have fun when you visit St Thomas !

Awesome vibes, live band, cool drink and shot menu with souvenir cups if you want to pay a little extra. Food was decent. Drinks were good. Service was the only thing lacking a little bit, it would have been nice if the bartenders were a little more friendly.

Don’t let the bar set up deter you if you have kiddos! They have foods to accommodate them and are kid friendly. Our family enjoyed everything we ordered and we had fast, friendly service! There is popcorn chicken, fries, mozzarella sticks and cheese quesadillas for some usual kid options, cute drinks! Good vibey atmosphere too! Recommend checking them out!

This is by far the best bar in the middle of a parking lot that you will ever experience. Not only are the drinks great and the staff fantastic but the food is wonderful too.

I didn't rate the food cuz we only had drinks here! Fun place, nice bartenders, good music, good vibe. We had fun talking to other patrons and trying the Bushwhacker and the (Dominican) Mamajuana drinks. All the drinks come with cute little fuzzy pipecleaner creatures or can be served in a variety of funny glasses and mugs. It's all open-air with a view onto the street and other bars across the street. Lively on the weekend!

Such a neat little spot with an awesome atmosphere! The food was delicious, the sunset burger was so fresh and flavorful. Two of the people in our group had the 2lb lobster that was on special and said it was also delicious. We were on our way to a different restaurant when our cab driver said we should go here instead, glad we did. Might have to wait a bit for a table, but it was a great experience!

Specifically, I was at 13. I had walked looking for a spot on the water and they were it! So glad. The bartender was quick and used to a proper rush. She kept an even eye on all her patrons. The octopus was good and the atmosphere had that oceanfront vibe. On the bill there was a notice about an offer, if you paid cash they gave you back a % of your bill. Probably what would normally cover the cards fees. As we've seen lately, others are adding higher fees and added tips, none of that here, they were giving back. My compliments. I've been in the business for 50 years and to see that was a bonus for my day. Peace.

In our limited experience we found the marina very good. The staff is quick to answer the phone or VHF, and very competent. One day we used the free dinghy dock (crowded) to provision nearby. They have a trash service for $3/bag. Another day we fueled our sailboat. The fuel dock faces the cruise-ship dock, but even with the Disney Fantasy docked, we had plenty of room to maneuver our 50' sailboat in and out. We called on VHF 10 to reach the marina. They had the best price on diesel in the area.

This Yacht Haven Grande location, has a lot to offer you when you visit the St Thomas US Virgin Islands. It will be one of the spots, you will ‘dock off’ from your cruise ship. They offer souvenirs shops, restaurants, bars, taking sailing trips, live-music, picture moments, etc. Add this location to your list, if you are planning to visit the island.

Cute little Marina with some shops and restaurants. Very typical stop in the Caribbean. You can catch taxies there to do a little island exploration. Just be mindful that your cabbie was not sitting on the wall smoking" a you know what....."

If you're a cruiser and don't have millions in your bank account, STAY AWAY !!! The Marina is okay but $6,70/ft is kind of criminal, especially there is nothing worth it (no amenities, nothing). The fuel dock is easy to reach, BUT, don't step on the dock or let your crew or guests leave the boat during your fill-up !!! They charge you $1.50/ft for Pickup/Drop-off fee, even if you just spend $1000 for fuel. Don't bring your garbage ($15/small bag). They Nickel & Dime there customers for everything. In 20 years of cruising I never experienced that kind of Rib-Off in a marina.

Great place for shopping or dining. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. It’s right off the water and marina, and conveniently located off of one of the main streets. I recommend visiting. It’s a great place to hang out and meet with friends. We had dinner overlooking the water. It was sweet and romantic.

Beautiful marina. Staff inside the office were unfortunately a disappointment. Had to scan a document and the lady inside told me that the scanner has never worked since she had started working there. She said that she has been working there for 6 months. I went over to the scanner and scanned my document with ease. Emailed it to myself. Disappointing experience in an otherwise beautiful and friendly marina.

Perfect! We made this our last stop after stumbling across it at the beginning of our week trip. I had to go back for the tropical tea and the Catina bowl. It’s going to be one of those meals I think about when I think about our week trip. The service was amazing both times we visited. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. Good job!

Great location. They have indoor and outdoor seating but it gets busy so plan accordingly. Our experience with the food and drinks were great but service was poor (probably related to staffing challenges). I wouldn’t go there again to be honest but it’s probably worth one visit.

The margaritas here are delicious! This is a fun little place to eat and drink in the historical section of Charlotte Amalie near the waterfront. Our server and bartender were friendly and attentive. I would recommend the beef enchiladas and burrito. The fish tacos were a bit dry, but overall this is a great place to go to.

Greengo’s is a high quality Mexican restaurant with Caribbean flare. Burritos, Enchiladas, Tacos, bowls, you name it. They are near the port in Charlotte Amalie and can get crowded quickly but they are worth the wait. Just be patient and you will be rewarded with fabulous drinks and amazing food. The servers rock, the drinks are huge, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is superb. Sit down or take out it’s a must try restaurant.

Awesome place with great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Ariel was absolutely wonderful and made sure we were very well taken care of. The burrito and Mahi cantina bowl were excellent choices, and the portion sizes were huge! The painkiller drink definitely lived up to its name. We wanted to go to different restaurants but they required reservations. The food was okay. Could have used a little more season. Drinks were good and strong. Very pricey but that might be because of island. Wouldn't go back. Server wasn't that friendly

We have eaten here a couple of times because we can bring our service dog to the outside bar. The drinks are delicious - we ordered bushwackers they were served in Margaritas glasses and were perfect on a afternoon. Willoughby got a nice glass of water. For dinner we order the nachos and tacos. But later our stomach were a bit upset we think it was the cabbage in the Nachos The Bartender was as pleasant as could be and extremely attentive for all the hats she was wearing I came back the next day for ginger seltzer while walking the dog.

As someone who is vegan and gluten free, it's hard finding places to eat out on the island. This place had tofu tacos. Though it could've been seasoned more, it was sufficient enough and I liked them. I also got a peach margarita. It was very watery and had no flavor. Overall, the experience was good. I would go back for the chips and salsa. Would prefer the guacamole to be more than a 2/3oz cup.
Monique Durham — Google review
We enjoyed this quaint food spot right off the waterfront in the alley. It’s best to park on the waterfront and walk across the street as there is no parking back there. You can sit outside or inside. We choose to sit in with the air and the decor inside was pretty cool, it was giving day of the dead lol with beautiful artwork. We had a kind and patient server who assisted with recommendations and accommodated our request as newbies. There was a live band so that was a nice unexpected touch! Now for the stuff you want—food review lol. Food is expensive on the island in general—you really need a food budget, this was quite a shock to me. For 2 of us: 1 meal, 1 drink each + 15% gratuity automatically added and a 3% card fee was roughly $75. Chips and salsa is available with a charge so it’s best to order a meal that comes with it. Everything tasted fresh. I was on the fence about getting the beans on my meal but they are delicious and I’m glad I tried them on the side! We had the burritos which is VERY feeling and flavorful so that’s my recommendation. For a $2 up charge you can make it like an enchilada getting cheese and red sauce on top—kinda of the best of both worlds. If you like heat, you’ll enjoy their ghost pepper hot sauce. The burritos are stuffed so it was difficult to finish which is a good problem to have. The frozen margs were ok. Nice size but only ok for me. Perhaps if I got top shelf it would be more enjoyable or maybe even a different flavor, it could use more flavor (mango) to me but my SO who is a rare drinker thoroughly enjoyed his (strawberry). I would definitely recommend and come back when we get a chance to.

Wow, so glad we stopped here for lunch! We were in St Thomas just for a day on a cruise. While on a snorkeling excursion in the morning, the Captain of the of the sailboat we were on suggested we stop at Greengos for lunch. He said it was really good. He was not wrong! We had a tostada and also a burrito which were both excellent. These both came with salsa and chips. The salsa was some of the best I ever had. On top of the food, the service was great. If your visiting St Thomas, this is a must stop!

My name is Noah and I’m writing this under my wife’s account. My wife and I just dined here, 4/7/24 from 2-3pm. Food was fine. Service needs a write up. Whichever servers were working during the aforementioned time slot have an attitude problem. Service was slow and disrespectful. We were ready to order but the waitress somewhat rudely insisted she was only taking drink orders. She took so long to return we almost got up and left before ordering and then she was there in the nick of time. I would’ve overlooked it all and left the 20% built in gratuity with no qualms until it was time to pay. After again sitting too long waiting, the check was brought out. When we tried to pay the waitress said cash only like we were causing a problem trying to pay with card. When my wife said the menu said they take card, the waitress said their system was down. Obviously this would have been a pretty basic good thing to know before ordering. When I told the waitress we didn’t have enough cash, she said there is a ATM around the corner. It’s hard to convey tone and mannerism in text, but the way she said it was ridiculous and unprofessional. They had scribbled cash only at the bottom of a board on the wall in relatively small cursive lettering. I noticed on my way to find an ATM. The waitress provided no directions. I found an ATM not too far away and tried to stick my card in but it was out of order. I went back and told the waitress the ATM was out of order. She told me to go to a different one. I asked her for directions and she obliged. I was very tempted to walk out on the bill at this point, which I have never done in my life, but the restaurant doesn’t deserve the loss, just the servers. In retrospect, we shouldn’t have paid the included gratuity. So I spent 20 minutes walking around in the hot sun looking for an ATM, paid a $3.50 ATM service fee, and never once received an apology or thank you for any of the inconvenience. Never once did anyone apologize for any inconvenience throughout our entire dining experience. When I returned and paid our bill, no one said a word. They didn’t even say goodbye or thank you. Unreal.

Over all a great experience. The atmosphere was incredible. Open air covered seating space had plenty of breeze and a beautiful view of the water. The food was well prepared and full of flavor. Our group of 8 all enjoyed their meals. We mostly ordered the special swordfish(cooked perfectly), the scallops and I had the duck. Mine was a perfect rare and had a wonderful cherry reduction. Would recommend and go again. The service was excellent and there were just a few small details that kept if from being a 5 star experience. Our group would have preferred to have all firsts and mains come out at the same time. We did have a very small wait for everyone to receive their food. Thank you for the great first night on the island.

Our evening was ruined by an over salted bowl of . Bouillabaisse Things happen in restaurants. We told our waiter who seemed sympathetic. He said he would tell the chef. My response was that the chef could not have tasted the dish as it was inedible. $55 entree and I guess the chef could not be bothered. Never appeared and never offered any adjustment or substitute our waiter disappeared about that time also. Could not get a water refill to wash down the salty taste. Just didn’t care. With the built in tip that was $66 wasted on an inedible entre. SD as this seemed to be a special place. Won’t go back

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Oceana while on a recent trip to St. Thomas, USVI. We arrived a bit early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail until our table was ready. Oceana is a very cool location, and beautiful house right on the bay, great views, especially during the day. The staff was very friendly, the service crisp, and the fare very good! At the bar we started with cocktails, the "O" and a sunset martini. The "O" is the house signature cocktail, a combination of house-infused pineapple rum, ginger, lime juice, coconut cream and pineapple juice. Delicious and refreshing! The sunset martini is a tasty blend of vodka, Chambord, citrus, candied lemon and a sugar rim. A nice way to start the evening! Once seated, after another cocktail, we opted for a nice bottle of white wine, Lenda Albarino. It was a good wine that paired well with our food selections. We ordered and shared two salad, the beet escabeche and the house special grilled peach salad. The beet salad included several varieties of beets, on a bed of goat cheese, adorned with spicy arugula, and rimmed with a raspberry balsamic reduction and EVOO. Very tasty. The grilled peach salad featured bibb lettuce, honey whipped goat cheese, candied pecans, a balsamic reduction, and EVOO. Very good salad, our favorite of the two. For our main course, we opted for the bouillabaisse, which was a prefect size for sharing. The soup included lobster tail, clams, mussels, shrimp, fresh fish, a very tasty broth and toasted bread on the side. It was a very good dish, and perfect for using the bread to soak up the sauce at the end. For dessert we shared two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream and the trio of sorbets. Both were good, we liked the ice cream a lot! Homemade, creamy and deelish! It was a good dinner, paced well, and worth the visit. The setting is delightful, and we'd recommend just stopping by for a drink is you're not able to dine at Oceana.

The sunset grill has an amazing view. It's definitely worth to go here when the sun starts to settle down. The atmosphere at that time is stunning! The service was great, people were always friendly and helpful! Unfortunately the food was a little disappointing all over. Only the octopus starter was really delicious. The other dishes we had were simple and blend. I would love to see more creativity and variety in the tastes of the dishes. They could have more sauces or spices to give them an extra kick. The price for the food is heavy. I think you pay more for the service and then view rather than for good food.

We came here during our stay to celebrate my Mom’s 60th birthday. This place did not disappoint. The open air and view makes you appreciate exactly where you are - paradise! If you want to eat at the more upscale restaurant, I would definitely make a reservation ahead of time as it was quite busy. We arrived early and grabbed a drink at the bar. The bar area looked like it had a great vibe too. When we were sat, we enjoyed the crab croquettes to start. Everyone in my party got a different entree and we all said the same thing - amazing! Definitely could sense some Spanish influence on the cuisine which we liked. If you’re looking for a nice dinner out, this is definitely your spot on St Thomas!

The Sunset Grill had one of the best sunset views we had on our trip to St Thomas. Considering the prices were higher at all the restaurants, we felt the fish was fresh and well prepared for the price. It was worth the price just to have a romantic dinner with the sunset views. So its definitely a restaurant we would recommend if you're visiting St Thomas.

Sunset...YES PLEASE....Found this gem for a late dinner. Waterfront with a super cool atmosphere. Nice enough to have a wedding (during the day they had a wedding lunch setup), yet chill enough to walk around with swim suits on. Now the food was one of the best during our stay on St. Thomas. Portion size and quality was unreal. Wish we could of had room for dessert. The Mahi and Chicken sandwich's were huge and high quality. This will be a definite stop each time I visit this island. Also it's literally on a beach, so you can swim, then walk up for a drink or food.

The Sunset Grille is a MUST spot to visit when in St. Thomas. The view overlooking the water is beautiful! The food here is the best I've had while in the USVI. The food was so good I ate here two days in a row. The prices are on the high side but the portion sizes and quantity is worth every penny. My only drawback here is the stray black cat. I'm not a fan of 4 legged animals being around while eating. Some people pet the cat but I was not a fan.

PRICEY food and drinks that are good, but an atmosphere with views that are even better! We were able to reserve the secluded wine tasting room for our large party. The wine room is air-conditioned, has its own music that you control through the Bluetooth on your phone, and it's private with closed doors and large windows. The only downside is that you're not outside enjoying the full unobstructed views of the beach. While the food was very enjoyable, we felt that the menu price was far more than what it was worth. The fried octopus appetizer was $22 and it was served with 4 small pieces of octopus. We just had to laugh it off.

The views are worth it if you’re not already living somewhere with a view in St. Thomas. Prices are reasonable, especially concidering the more “up scale” vibe the restaurant is going for, but portions are not huge. Food was pretty good, not the best I’ve ever had but good for island food. Recommend for a romantic night out.

Nice sunset dinner! We ordered the filet mignon, bacon Brussel sprouts, tempura cheesecake, and key lime cremé bruleé.

This by far was one of the best views of the sunset in St Thomas with the absolute best food , every dish was delicious, the presentation was incredible and every dessert was perfect. Truly a place not to miss out on.

Sunset Grill offers an awe-inspiring combination of delectable food, inviting ambience, captivating views, and a melodic backdrop that creates a magical dining experience. The food was exceptional, complemented by the serene surroundings. While the beach is good, it doesn’t steal the spotlight. The only challenge lies in finding this hidden gem; the drive can be a bit tricky, but it’s a hidden treasure worth discovering. If you’re staying at their resort, it’s a definite win. However, if you’re driving, prepare for a bit of a hunt. Customer service was decent, although we felt a tad rushed by the bartenders. Despite this, Sunset Grill is a must-visit for its overall enchanting allure.

I rarely ever write poor reviews because I've worked in the restaurant industry and never want to destroy a business, but this restaurant was on another level of absurd. The food itself was mostly good, but portions extremely small. We got the tempura octopus and it was literally 4 miniscule pieces of part of one tenticle. The lobster tostada was literally 3 chips and some sauce. I also ordered the lobster tail, but what they gave me instead was the tempura lobster. What bothered me the MOST was that they charged me a 20% service charge for a pick up order. When I asked them what it constituted, they said gratuity. When I arrived to pick it up, I was directed to go to the bar to pick up my order. I was served nothing. All I did was pick up my order. I looked over my receipt and they added water to it, which is how I think they're scheming patrons to justify their service charge. Beware of their scamming.

Highly recommend. We started off with Lobster and shrimp tostadas (very good) I got the stuffed portobello mushroom and my husband got the salt sea bass… both were excellent dishes. Service was great!! Towards the end of our meal we enjoyed a few drinks while enjoying the view at sunset. Recommend going at sunset or after to avoid the sun in your eyes or getting too hot.

The view alone can’t be beat. Easily the best view we’ve had while on the island, and the best meal. If you want a delicious fruity drink, I highly recommend the cat 5 - 10/10 without a doubt!!!

Food was good after a long day! We ate here twice without a reservation and they always moved a couple tables around to quickly make room. We realized we always had to wait quite awhile for them to process our payment for the food. We were able to watch the sunset and then go for a walk on the beach after we ate.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this water front restaurant that left me absolutely amazed. From the moment I stepped foot into the establishment, I was greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service. Maddy was a true joy to have as our server. She radiated brilliance and beauty, she was kind and humorous, but also humble. The restaurant's location was simply breathtaking. With its panoramic views, I was dining in paradise. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Now let's talk about the food…we only came for breakfast, but the food was masterful. From the breakfast burrito to the perfect breakfast sandwich, each bite was a delight to the senses. I even ordered a second sandwich. But what truly set this restaurant apart was the service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my dining experience was exceptional. Maddy was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing the best possible service. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of incredible service, breathtaking views, and outstanding food made it a truly memorable dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special and unforgettable dining experience by the ocean. I hear the sunset here is amazing

Unbelievable environment, right on the water at sunset. We dined here for my Dad’s 70th birthday and the Caribbean Jerk Ribeye, pork belly, lobster special, and cocktails were all fantastic.
