Cinnamon Bay

Beaches
Cinnamon Bay is a bay in the Virgin Islands that offers a beautiful beach with white sand and open-air ruins of an 1800s plantation. Unlike its more famous neighbor, Trunk Bay, there is no entrance fee to access Cinnamon Bay. It provides all the amenities one would need, including a cafe, store, and water sports facility offering kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling equipment. Families will particularly enjoy this location due to its family-friendly atmosphere.
Nice beach to hang out and catch some sun and ocean waves. Not great for snorkeling and it gets packed with local tourists and those coming over from St. Thomas for the day. Parking can be a challenge as well. Go early to grab a spot.

Probably my favorite beach in the USVI. I would recommend coming here first thing in the morning. When you get to the beach, I walked all the way down to the right and practically had the beach to myself for a couple hours. There are a lot of really lush trees lining the beach so i was able to get some nice shade
Devyn Cordero — Google review
Such a great beach. David, one of the people working there, was so helpful and knowledgable about the island. He was kind enough to introduce us to different types of trees like the tyre palm and almond trees, and it was so fun to walk around and identify them! Thanks David, will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful! The hike wasn't bad at all, my mom did it in flip flops.
Amalia Hartling — Google review
By far my favorite beach on St. John. Not at all crowded like Trunk Bay, although the campground there is still closed from Irmaria so it may be more crowded when that opens. Sugar sand beach, clear water, and good snorkeling. Take the time to go across the street and take the trail through the ruins on a self-guided tour.

Definitely a must! Beautiful crystal water

Without a doubt my favorite beach! Of course I haven’t been to all, but this one was just breathtaking!! No entry fee, we took a taxi but there was parking. Bathrooms are available & little food/drink shack

In our first appriach we were not going to visit this beach thinking in Trunk beach as our first option, however after visiting Cinamon Beach I will say that it's a paradaise. Super good installations food, clear waters and a bay that will make you dream. This is a must, dont forget it!

This beach is hard to describe in words. It IS GORGEOUS. Soft sand, barely a shell or rock in the ocean and crystal clear waters. Great for snorkeling or just floating on your back! We found fresh coconuts and beautiful coral when walking down the beach. I need to go back!!!!

What an absolutely gorgeous beach. I would have loved to have spent the day here, but we had a laundry list of things to see. We were in search of the “window” that I had seen everywhere when researching the area and then learned that it’s right as you walk from the parking lot, down the sidewalk, to the beach. I was thinking we had to do some major hiking to get to it, but not the case. The parking is ample and the beach is pretty big. You may even catch a glimpse of a cute little deer passing through.
Ali Bug — Google review
Beautiful, long sandy beach for lounging with some shade depending on the time of day. Nice facilities with EXCELLENT frozen painkillers. Get the rainbow straw--it's worth it. The waves are a bit bigger here than on some of the more protected bays because of the wide beach, so you'll have to work harder to snorkel out to the little island, but plenty of fish to see out there if you commit to it.

It's one of our favorites, really is not easy to choose only one beach. You have many choices 🤿🤿🤿💙💙💙🏖🏖🏖🏝🏝😎😎🌅🌅🌅🌅🌊🌊

Reef Bay Trail

Mentioned on
Outdoor Activities
Hiking Trails
Reef Bay Trail is a moderate 4.4-mile pathway that is well-liked by hikers and bird enthusiasts alike. It showcases two forests and a sugar mill, making it one of the most intriguing hikes on St. John. However, if you are not the type to seek out physical exertion, this trail may not be for you. Nonetheless, those who do take on the challenge will be rewarded with stunning views of nature and an opportunity to explore historical landmarks along the way.
Spectacular! I love hikes and if you can do a hike thru the jungle on a really nicely maintained trail, sign me in!! A must do for trails lovers, not to long and the ruins of the plantation swallowed by the nature give a place a interesting feel. Plenty of beautiful plants and trees, hundreds of tiny hermit crabs and some deers were sighted. The trail and at the sugar mill ruins right by the secluded beach!
Grzegorz Rozum — Google review
Great trail which was my bucket list for St. John. I would say moderate difficulty because the way back is really strenuous. Parking for the trailhead is on the side of the roadway. Altitude gain, stone stairs and switchbacks to get back to the top. Wasn't overly populated by fellow hikers, just passed some here and there so it was peaceful. Cool ruins along the way and at the end you reach the factory and beach. Great photo ops.

Annaberg Sugar Plantation

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The ruins of the Annaberg Sugar Plantation offer a glimpse into the past when sugar cane dominated St. John Island and enslaved individuals were responsible for its cultivation. This historical landmark stands as a well-preserved testament to the island's history, showcasing structures like slave quarters, windmills, and factory remnants. Located on the island's western edge, it serves as an important reminder of St. John's bygone era when 25 facilities produced sugar, molasses, and rum.
spooky but worth the trek, a lot to see and think about for families of all ages, there is a bathroom sort of place if required...

Nice site to walk around. Park staff are knowledgeable and helpful if on site. Beautiful views as well. Interesting history of plantations and the island.
c “cfl” lane — Google review
Beautiful little historic site on St. John. It's a very easy short walk around the facility, and perched high up for excellent views out to the waters on one side, and beautiful hills on the other. The ruins lend themselves to fantastic photo opportunities. There are signs placed at each landmark with educational information on what each structure was and how it played a part in the sugar processing.
Iman Alsharkawi — Google review
Amazing views, it's a great history lesson to learn about. The walk up is not so bad and the photos came out terrific!
Anne Russell — Google review
Limited parking. Popular trailhead shares the parking lot with the ruins. There is a taxi drop off area. Composting toilet on site. A lot of signage was visible and clear describing each building and structure. There were even iron cauldrons still in the beautiful stonework of the ovens. Would recommend.
Jack Collum — Google review
Short walk from the parking lot. Beautiful scenery. Interesting stop if you are driving around St. John.
Pat Bradley — Google review
Biggest sugar plantation ruins in the area. Lots of bees 🐝 in the building. Stay away if you are allergic. Most of the buildings or rooms have been closed due to the hurricane a while ago and have not been able to reopen again. New bathrooms are near the parking lot at the bottom. It is not possible to park in front of the ruins. Parking lot is very small and get full quickly.
Napo O'Brien — Google review
A rare opportunity to see a historic sugar cane plantation, it was amazing. They have places that explain the history of this location, and the view is pretty good too.
John Kachurick — Google review
Enjoyed walking through the ruins of this former sugar plantation and learning about the history. The views from this point are spectacular.

One of many interesting historical places on the most magnificent island of St. John.

Definitely for a history oriented group, kids were not so interested in these ruins. Hike up not bad at all took only 15 minutes, and they have stairs if you don't want to do the road.
Kenia Flores — Google review
Nice walk, good information about the plantation life and some history on the brutality of slavery. Interesting flora and the guides were entertaining and friendly.
Gregory German — Google review
This place is amazing. First time up here and it was worth every minute. The views are amazing. When we visited we were able to see the turtles and their babies swimming, it was so cool!!! The views are breathtaking. The ruins were definitely worth seeing and reading about their history. Make sure to stop here when you are on St Johns.
Shannon Woodhall — Google review
Very cool, in my opinion under-visited site. There’s a lot of stairs up, but it’s pretty manageable with a bench halfway as well. The terrain is a bit sketchy but if you stick to the paved trail, easy enough (we didn’t lol, and it was worth it). Lots of bees but there are signs posted where you shouldn’t poke around, and so any we saw were at a distance. Gorgeous relic and killer views!

The Annaberg Sugar Plantation, located in the Virgin Islands National Park on St. John, holds significant historical value. It served as one of the largest and most productive sugar plantations on the island throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Established in 1779 by William Gottschalk, a Danish merchant, the plantation relied on the labor of enslaved individuals to clear the land and cultivate sugarcane. Alongside the main plantation, there existed a windmill, animal mill, and sugar factory. The Annaberg Plantation generated considerable profits, contributing to the wealth of St. John and the Caribbean region. However, it is important to acknowledge that the success of the plantation was built upon the exploitation and mistreatment of enslaved people. These individuals endured harsh living conditions and suffered physical and emotional abuse. Various factors, such as the abolition of slavery, the emergence of beet sugar, and the destructive impact of hurricanes, caused the decline of the sugar industry in St. John during the late 19th century. Consequently, the Annaberg Plantation was abandoned in the early 20th century. Presently, the Annaberg Sugar Plantation stands as a National Historic Landmark, open to the public for tours. It provides visitors with an opportunity to gain insight into the history of sugar production and the legacy of slavery in the Caribbean. Here are some additional details regarding the plantation's history: * The plantation derived its name from Anna, the daughter of William Gottschalk. * The plantation included approximately 16 slave cabins constructed using woven branches, lime, and a mud mixture. * Enslaved individuals working on the plantation were responsible for tasks such as land clearance, planting, harvesting sugarcane, and processing it into sugar and molasses. * The plantation's profitability contributed significantly to St. John's status as one of the wealthiest islands in the Caribbean. * The sugar industry in St. John experienced a decline in the late 19th century due to multiple factors, including the abolition of slavery, the introduction of beet sugar, and the devastating impact of hurricanes. * The Annaberg Sugar Plantation was abandoned in the early 20th century. * Today, the Annaberg Sugar Plantation is designated as a National Historic Landmark, offering public tours and providing a valuable window into the history of sugar production and slavery in the Caribbean.

Trunk Bay

Mentioned on
Beach
Trunk Bay, a highly popular destination for many visitors, boasts a pristine white sand beach that is supervised by lifeguards year-round. The tranquil and serene waters provide an ideal environment for snorkeling. The Underwater Trail offers snorkelers an immersive experience as they venture 300 feet into the ocean, where vibrant coral reefs and an abundance of colorful fish adorn the shallows. This trail also features informative signs about the area.
We visited this beach on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Once we reached the beach area via GPS we parked in the little parking lot right next to its entrance. We were lucky enough to land a parking spot because we came earlier in the day around 2 pm. We entered the beach area and the entrance booth was closed. We assumed we would have to pay $5 a person as adults because this beach does have an entry fee. The windows were closed at the entry booth though even though the facility hours stated 8am-4pm and it was clearly 2 pm. We saw people casually walking into the park area so we did the same. Please keep in mind this beach does not have a lifeguard on duty. There is also an advisory for snorkelers to not touch the coral reef, stand in the sand, applying reef safe sunscreen, not touching the corals, no littering, and a photos of the most common ocean life one will see. Once we were inside the park area we saw they have a Trunk Bay Cafe which sells coffee, Bloody Mary drinks, mimosas, bushwhackers, other specialty drinks, and pastries/desserts, yogurt, and fresh fruit. They also have a place inside to rent snorkeling equipment and I presume beach chairs and other items to provide beach goers with water experiences. There is also a warning to not swim behind Trunk Cay which is a big rock formation in the middle of the water which the sign states the currents can be stronger and no swimmers will be visible. This beach also features an underwater snorkeling trail which snorkelers can use and follow while swimming. All around this area of the beach there beautiful palm trees and soft light sand. As we ventured further into this park area there is also a sign which informs not to bring glass bottles into the beach area, be aware of urchins, not to touch or feed any wildlife such as birds, and other things such as no surfing or body surfing. This beach definitely attempts to forewarn beach goers with a lot of signage and warnings. Once we ventured onto the beach it was breathtaking and beautiful! This was the perfect day to come to the beach because it was sunny and a perfect little breeze as well. There weren’t a super huge amount of people on the beach and it wasn’t overly crowded which we were thankful for. Unfortunately we had forgotten to bring towels, but we really didn’t need them since it was so hot we knew we would air dry. Also keep in mind there are no lockers or storage anywhere in this area of the park to store your belongings so definitely bring them in at your own risk. It didn’t appear that people on the beach were concerned all that much about someone stealing their belongings. A lot of people left their things on the sandy part of the beach and went out to the water. We could see a lot of people with their snorkeling equipment. There were also a lot of families and I feel this is definitely a family friendly beach. The sand wasn’t really hot or hard. It was actually quite soft and light in color. The water itself was such a beautiful ombré blue color! You can tell the beach is well maintained because there wasn’t any trash or debris in the area. We took beautiful photos on the beach and also went about waist deep. The water does feel cold at first, but once you stand in it for a few minutes you do get used to the temperature and it becomes quite warm. As we were taking selfies there was a nice lady that offered to take our photos for us and we obliged. She actually took great photos of us. The beach goers seemed to be very laid back and everyone just wanted to enjoy their beach time and soak up the sun. There were quite a few birds on the beach when We decided to walk the length of it. Once we were ready to leave, towards the entrance of the beach is some restrooms and spray showers to wash the sand off your body. The restrooms were clean and I had no issues using them whatsoever. They also had hand sanitizer dispensers as well. The showers to rinse your feet and body off also were convenient. This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! I highly recommend everyone visit this beach when on St. John.

Nice beach to visit on St. John. $5 per person admission fee. Was not overcrowded when I visited (December). My main focus was snorkeling so I snorkeled out to that little mini "island" you see a short swim away. You will find bright tropical fish of all sizes and its a fun area to explore.

Amazing place to visit. Food shack and rental chairs available. They have showers with stalls that lock. Making it easy to clean up after the beach and to do an outfit change. It's a push button timer shower and doesn't cost anything to use them. You pay a small fee to enter the beach. The water is amazing.

Honestly just an amazing beach. Gorgeous water and space. Zero cover but totally worth it. The water is clear and there is a perfect area to snorkel (my friend spotted her first turtle there this afternoon). There is a great bar with features food and drinks. The rum punch and bushwhacker was especially well made. Highly highly highly recommend coming here. Absolutely Some points: Five bucks to enter per person Snorkel, chairs, and other gear to rent (cheaply) Parking can be a nightmare to find a spot. Live band was playing

This is a really nice beach on St John, but having been to several others while there, I can't say it's worth the hype it get - don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but others are just as nice and the snorkeling is better elsewhere. The real benefit of this beach is that the National Park service provides the best amenities here versus the other beaches including showers, food, drinks and clean bathrooms. If you want a better snorkeling experience try Honeymoon or Lamsher beaches.
P. Kahn — Google review
One of the nicest beaches that I have ever visited. A nice snorkel trail. You can see sea turtle and sting ray in the grassy area of the beach. It’s a nice walk between the both ends.

What a ride to get to this beach! It truly is a hidden gem. We arrived later in the day so any concessions were closing up but we were able to walk the beautiful beach. It was not crowded at all and the bathrooms were clean. Would definitely return here for a longer stay.

One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Snorkeled all the way around the cay. Some great coral and tons of beautiful fish. Also an iguana visited our blanket.
Darren Dunn — Google review
Amazing beach!!! This is postcard perfect! Sugar white sands, pearlescent blue waters that fade from turquoise to a deep royal azure. When swimming around the island in the bay, be prepared to see rays, nurse sharks, and varied tropical fish as the waters are translucent and crystal clear. There are showers and chair rentals at the entrance. Be advised that there is an entrance fee of $8 and they do not take cash....cards only.
Robert Choate — Google review
This beach lived up to the hype. The overlook viewpoint that you see in all the pictures of the Caribbean is right off the main road driving into the beach area. White sand, turquoise, crystal clear water, palm trees, cold cocktails, and snorkeling with sea turtles made this one of the best beaches I've ever been to. Parking is extremely limited and there's very little to no street parking, so arrive before 10am or later in the afternoon when people start to leave. Most vendors for food and drink close at 4, so keep that in mind also.
colin bonfield — Google review
The beach is a curve strip of beautiful sand, breathtaking views and a very close snack shack. The entry gives elevated views of the beach and splendor of the perfect place to vacation!
Chris Butler — Google review
Nice expansive beach. The snorkeling trail was fun, but the day we went it was a bit choppy, so visibility not the best. Great facilities. As always arrive early (before 9) to get a parking space and a piece of shade. Better if you bring your own shade as the bugs like the shade too and no amount of bug spray will keep 'em away.
Joan Hathaway — Google review
If you arrive before 10am you should get a spot in the main lot. Simply the best beach in the Caribbean. Food, drinks, bar, bathroom and showers all at the beach. Crystal clear, warm water and clean unspoiled sand. I really can't think of a place I would want to revisit as much as trunk Bay. These pictures were taken on an overcast morning.
Tony Cash — Google review
This is rightfully known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! It has absolutely amazing views, perfect white sands, and beautiful blue waters. With a small rocky cay only about 200 feet off the beach, the snorkeling is amazing with tons of aquatic life. We even saw a 3-foot ray hovering around the sandy wading area in 2 feet of water. The underwater snorkel trail around the cay is a nice little feature which provides information about the habitat and aquatic life. It gets crowded after 11am, so getting there early is a good idea to if you need to get parking and a good spot on the beach. Parking is ridiculously limited. But there’s plenty of space on the beach despite it being relatively narrow. The scene is pretty laid back with lots of families. There were no crazy party animals when we were there fortunately. Parking is indeed a challenge. We took an 11am ferry from Red Hook, and by the time we got there, all the parking was taken. There are probably only about 20 spots in the lot. We ended up parking up the hill in the side of the road about a quarter mile away. Not ideal, but worth the hike! They have a real nice snack shack for drinks (beer, cocktails, sodas, teas, water, etc.), gifts, and pub grub (burgers, sandwiches, snacks, etc.). They also have large and very well maintained restroom and shower facilities. You can rinse the sand off yourself, and they have places to clean your snorkel gear. They also rent snorkel gear if you don’t have your own. This was our third time coming back to Trunk Bay. The next time we come back to the islands, it will definitely be on our list of destinations!
Mike Mc — Google review
Beautiful beach and sand. Not good for snorkeling - poor clarity and poor reef conditions. We seen one nurse shark and a few other reef fish, however difficult to see due to poor water clarity. Excellent beach for a beach day and swimming. There is no parking if you rent a vehicle, there are probably about 15 stalls, if you want a parking spot, plan on getting there very early! 3 stars due to parking, heavier crowds, poor snorkeling conditions. 5 stars for an amazing beach and swimming.

Ideal spot. If climbing rocks bring beach shoes. Snorkling gear is a must here. A swim around the little island could find colorful fish and coral. Parking is limited. Taxi may be best.

Highly, highly recommend making a stop here during your stay on St. John, or even taking the ferry over from St. Thomas. The beach was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. You don't have people pestering you on the beach all day to buy things like on some of the other beaches. Sun shade, chairs, and snorkel gear, etc, are available for rent. There is an awesome snack shack with delicious food and a bar with great drinks on site as well. The bathrooms close at 4pm. I recommend getting an early start to find your spot and make a day of it!

Hawksnest Beach, situated on the north shore of St. Johns, is a picturesque sandy beach with crystal-clear water that offers various activities like swimming and snorkeling amidst vibrant coral reefs and colorful marine life. This idyllic coastal destination holds significance for Seattle Seahawks fans due to its association with the team's iconic number 12.
We tried going to Trunk Bay, but parking was full there. So we happened upon this beach instead! We easily found parking, it is extremely close to the water, and there is the most beautiful coral reef we saw on our trip here! Just be careful of the sea urchins, mostly along the east side of the beach. But otherwise, this snorkeling was amazing and we spent a whole afternoon here!

Amazing beach with some waves. Super nice views. Sand was super clean. This beach was probably my favorite out of all of them. Bring food and drinks though as there weren’t any options there, at-least not when we were there.

Convenient to access off the road and beautiful blue water! Small section that did not have rocks, however we found most of the shoreline to be covered in big rocks- making swimming access difficult. Water was blue and there were shady spots! Less populated!

It is one of the best beaches anywhere. Great place to view sea life.
Robert Mentecki — Google review
Hawksnest Beach is a great beach if you want calm waves, snorkeling and crystal clear water. The difference between Maho Bay and Hawksnest Beach is that Hawksnest beach is much wider and has more beach so there are more places to find both sun and shade, it also has good snorkeling (but not great), it’s more convenient due to its close distance to Cruz Bay. It has restroom facilities and picnic tables and good parking. There is no hike to the beach. However, on some days the waves can actually get quite rough. Definitely one of my favorite beaches on St John!

Beautiful Sandy Beaches smaller once you are actually on the beach than you may expect but this beach is not too crowded, maybe because you need too take a boat from Saint Thomas to Saint John, then à taxi/bus to beach. The water is nice and warm. A great place to relax the day away. FYI I actually did see Hawks... thus the name of the beach. I really loved this beach.

Nice beach, ɓut without showers, water in any form or food facilities. I will recommend Trunk beach that, beyond the small parking and expensive food has everything you need to relax and enjoy a beach day. BTW dont forget to carry your snorkel equipment because has a great reef.

Cafe Roma is a long-time Italian eatery with ample portions of vegetarian-friendly Italian comfort classics, as well as cocktails. The casual atmosphere and wide wine selection make it the perfect spot for a night out with friends or family.
Phenomenal! The service was friendly and attentive. Our server even gave us a complimentary champagne toast for our anniversary. The Chef stopped by the table to check on us which was a lovely, and appreciated touch. The food is outstanding! Some of the best Italian we've ever had. The ambiance is quaint and welcoming. We will back many times. Kudus for a job well done!

It took a minute to realize this place was upstairs. We managed to get in and our order placed only moments before the Cafe filled up. Food was hot and delicious. Bottle of water was $9.00 USD which seemed a bit extreme, but I get that everything has to be brought in by barge.
Ron Viles — Google review
While the food was good, the service was terrible. When I arrived (and my husband was parking the car), I was told I was told I be asked to leave if they did not arrive in 5 minutes. We waited nearly 2 hours and had to ask 2 times for our pizza and drinks.. I would have been fine but we have 4 small kids. And, we watched 4 tables that came after us yet get served before is. So, good food, bad service. I bet there is good pizza many places in the island—find them.

Highly recommend! This is real Italian food with huge portions! Arrived at 5:45 pm on a Wednesday and we (2 people) were seated right away. There started to be a wait for larger groups shortly after. We were greeted with friendly service and they talk to you like they are talking to real people. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo and the penne a la vodka which were both excellent and the right amount of creamy.

Pizza crust not done in the middle, could not even cut it with a steak knife.
Tom Nelson — Google review
If you like sweet sauce, this is the place for you. My opinion, the sauce was too sweet and I've never had penne vodka where the sauce is red and spicy, I've always had it in more of a pink sauce with cream added. Not what I expected. They brought the mussel appetizer out with the entree and we ended up giving it to the bar. The server was wonderful. But, I'll skip it the next time I'm in town.

Wow, we had an idea to get carry out pizza from Cafe Roma to the beach. They were so accommodating, and the pizza was GREAT! It smelled so good in the car that we started eating as soon as we were at the picnic table and I just have pictures of one slice left (that was eaten right after!) Super pizza and great people at the restaurant!!

We were in St. John this week and visited Villa Roma for an Italian dinner. The food was amazing and the new owners very friendly and accommodating. I knew they were from the northeast because their meatballs were delicious! A must go to for the best classic italian food! Thank you!

My visit on Friday evening did not disappoint. The restaurant was very busy with so we sat at the bar. The staff was attentive, the mussels were savory, and the pasta was extra creamy with leftovers to spare. Pizza was flying out the door.

Under new ownership and a new chef, Cafe Roma is back! The food, service and atmosphere is once again amazing. It has reclaimed it's place, in my opinion, as the best pizza choice downtown. Try the Island Pie, you won't be disappointed. My better half had Penne with Broccoli and she loved the light garlicky sauce and the perfectly cooked pasta and veg. Both desserts were quite good, the Key Lime Pie was very well done, not too tart not too sweet and a beautiful crust. Welcome back Cafe Roma!

A second visit after a few years.. Started with nice Caesar and House salads then entrees of Penne ala Vodka & Cafe Roma's Famous Lasagna, with an added meatball protein. The Penne was delicious. I'll skip the dry, dense crispy meatballs next visit.

Small restaurant with pretty good food, OK service and very basic ambiance. There is a full bar, but they were out of a few of the items we asked for. We had take out pizza one night and dined in another. Pizza was pretty good for being so far from New York. When dining in, the service was only fair and some of us really enjoyed our meals while others said it was meh. I had the cajun dish and it was very good. Give it a try and check it out for yourself.

My wife and I both got the 4 course menu and it was all very good. The salad was good and come from locally grown greens straight from St John. The Spaniard was decent and had good flavors(I'm a little ruined after having some authentic Venezuelan empanadas from a mom and pop run business). Now the Rum ribs were absolutely delicious they were so tender that I was able to just push the meat off the bone with my fork, not to mention the super tasty bbq sauce that was on them. Not a huge fan of the Mac and cheese cuby thing with it but it wasn't bad I just prefer my Mac and cheese a bit more saucy and less casserole like. Then the key lime pie..... It was absolutely the best key lime pie I've ever eaten in my life!

Fun food..tacos! Relaxed atmosphere. It is first come, first served...and when we arrived, it was packed. Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed but then, it calmed down and was sane. Food was tasty. Corkage fee very reasonable at $20. (We byob on holiday with great wines from our cellar.)

The food was fantastic. Best meal we had on the island! Service was also good till the end when we were not given detailed bills and asked to tip. Only to realize they added a gratuity already and in the end received a 40% tip. Uncertain if the waiter knew what he was doing, as he was quite defensive, but luckily we caught it and the manager corrected it after a little of back and forth. In the end I say “hi eat here” just insist on a detailed bill.

We enjoyed fantastic service during the 6 course tasting last night. Delicious food was beautifully presented. This dinner was a definite treat!

This was my absolute favorite restaurant on St John. Siobhan was incredible and knows the menu backwards and forwards. Wonderful wine pairing and food well beyond my expectations. Oh yes, we will be back.

Lime Inn used to be a prix fixe restaurant. Now, it’s a land-based version of Lime Out, the floating taco bar in Coral Bay. Like most restaurants in St. John, it’s open to the outside, which means it’s the perfect temperature all the time. We went in (12/29/23) for a couple margaritas. It was nicely crowded, but everyone was friendly, and some folks moved around so we could sit at the bar together. There’s lovely table seating, as well, but it was fun to sit at the bar and watch the skilled bartenders create their magic! Despite the crowd, the staff was pleasant and accommodating. We got the “nene” margarita and the grapefruit margarita. Both were fresh and flavorful. Good pour on the tequila, but very smooth. We split one more of the grapefruit margaritas. We also had a “cowabunga” (braised short rib, blackened shrimp, pickled onions, feta) taco and a “tuna matata” (jerk tuna, pineapple, jicama relish, slaw) taco, whimsically named and delicious. The tacos aren’t cheap ($10 to $14 each), but from a flavor standpoint, they are absolutely worth it. If it was all you were eating, you might want a second, but honestly, there was so much yumminess, we left feeling very satisfied. We’ll definitely go back on our next trip.

My husband and I ate here in 2020 and loved it, so when we came back this year for 3 weeks, we couldn’t wait to go back. When I made online reservations, I noticed they had switched to Experience Dining. In a nutshell you get 2 appetizers, a main course and a dessert for 75.00. After eating in most restaurants in St John, this is not a high price at all! There were 4 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed every course. My brother in law, who is a fine wine and dining “snob”, still hasn’t stopped talking about the Spaniard and the Coconut Temblique. (Google the menu). We enjoyed this meal so much, that Lime Inn is the ONLY fine dining restaurant we have visited twice during our stay. The food, the wine, the staff and the ambiance have us hooked. Amy and Ollie

Very nice service. My wife and I ordered a tuna tartare and a whole red snapper plate. Very delicious and well served, a Pinot Grigio wine bottle to pair with the food. I totally recommend to visit. They also offer a $75, 4 plates dinner.

They have a lot of great reviews and they deserve most of the 5 stars. The food was very good and the staff was very good and attentive. We ate at the bar and the lady bartender was great. The view and scenery were not great compared to the restaurants on the beach. Still, excellent food.

Best food we had on the island. Great tacos with good flavor and generous portions. Service was fairly shaky, including not being able to get the check right even after two tries, but nonetheless we'd happily go back.

Came here two nights in a row, the food was amazing, I imagine there menu changes from time to time, but while I we were visiting I had the wahoo tiradito and the tuna tartar as my starters and the whole fish (snapper) as my meal ending with a brownie and a scoop for dessert, everything was phenomenal. Second night the Chef cooked up some special plates with mahi mahi and black fin tuna we caught (we had talked to him all night and got his approval of this the night before, pics in the review) in addition to the 4 course where I got the hog + the Buffalo (mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto with a balsamic glaze) and the sushi crab tapa with the fillet topped with crab, and key lime pie…Can not say enough how good the food was, add in a couple “the danger’s” cocktails and some 18 year flor de cana rum and the amazing people running this place it was exactly the type of place we needed on this trip. Thank you Lime Inn and especially Amarro and Siobhan!!!

We tried the 4 course tasting menu. Being a vegetarian / vegan, there were at least 2 Options to try from in each course! Our waiter was attentive / friendly & accommodating. A nice evening out with fancy dinner on the island is a must when on vacation!

The wonderful hostess/owner greeted us warmly and made sure our experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Our kids were exhausted from a full day of St. John fun and feeling picky. They offered to make them off-menu dishes; and while I didn't expect that, it was really appreciated. The tacos were amazing, the cocktails were so refreshing. It was an exceptional experience all around.

Nice decor, relaxed environment. There is a parking right next door to the restaurant for paid parking. We did an online reservation so table was ready. No air conditioning inside the restaurant but breeze was plenty. Nice and friendly service, food is decent. Dessert we did not really like. But nothing is perfect, service was alittle slow. Our parking $15 covers 2 hours and their service was slow and pushing the time. Overall nice experience

We have been to Lime Out and rather than making the trip out to Hansen Bay, we chose their new location in town. Bartenders were friendly and welcoming. More taco combination choices and they are larger. Excellent food, drink and laid back place to enjoy a great meal!

Asolare is a beautiful and relaxing restaurant with amazing views of Cruz Bay. The staff are knowledgeable about different rums, and can recommend great options for dinner. The appetizers are excellent, and the main course options are varied and delicious.
Outstanding! We were here on our honeymoon and chose this place for our nice dinner and it did not disappoint. Great drinks and the food was bursting with flavor. We sat on the rail and enjoyed a nice sunset.

Five Stars are easily justified, view, service, great food. The service should have made it 6 stars.

This establishment is by far the best place I have eaten in my life. The cuisine is unique and beautiful. You won't find anything like this again. My husband and I love it so much, we have been there 3 times in the last week! It's been a wonderful vacation. The staff here are so friendly, with bursting personalities and fantastic service! Second to none, and this is coming from a VERY picky eater. I wish we could stay in the virgin islands a bit longer :)

Best meal on St. John. Views are tremendous. You will not want to leave.

This restaurant is tucked away and although it is off from the main streets in Cruz Bay, it is completely worth venturing out. Our hostess greeted us with a warm smile and we were seated right away on the outside terrace. The view was out of this world!! It was breathtaking and I recommend going early to watch the landscape change as the sun sets. The meal was delicious for all. They we very accommodating to our younger munchkin who is the picky eater in the crew and they made a tailored meal for him. We had an unique appetizer which is called the Japanese pancake. Burrata was fresh and made a great a start. Highly recommend!!

Breathtaking view of St. John's Cruz Bay. Get there for an early dinner at 5:30P for an amazing sunset or after 7:30P for a night time view of the harbor below. Definitely request a table on the rail. They have a great mixologist but beware the bar is tucked back away from the view. Food is unbelievable - best meal we've had in either St. John or St. Thomas. Will definitely be coming back to this gem.

You would expect seared tuna to be fresh and prepared with local spices or similar flavors, but it was disappointingly plain. Similarly the ribeye steak was lacking in the flavor department. The view is terrific, just wish the food had been as well.

The Fish Trap Restaurant & Seafood Market is a family restaurant that offers fresh seafood and delicious meals. The atmosphere is lively and the food is consistently excellent. Whether you're dining in the main room or the back room, air conditioning keeps you cool and comfortable.
The Fish Trap us awesome. Having tried multiple places downtown, it was refreshing to find a place that was family friendly, able to accommodate my pregnant wife's dinner requests, and also made is feel at home and a part of the family. We ended up coming twice and both times were outstanding. I definitely recommend the Shrimp Scampi or the Mussels.

Great food. Today is their last day for the season, we went last night. Fish was fresh, atmosphere was great. We had a great time with a couple friends we met on an excursion earlier in the week. Def have a late dinner and head over to the beach bar after a block over. Had an awesome time

By far, the BEST dinner we had in St. John/ Cruz Bay... Salmon was melt in your mouth delicious!!! Swordfish & shrimp was seasoned so well! Fresh fresh fresh! Amazing! Servers were also so kind and welcoming!

Good food and service. Nice outdoor/open seating in a quieter corner of town. We all had fish and it was all tasty. It didnt seem like it was all local fish, but there was a good variety. Beer selection was small but they said it was going to change.

We tried the blackened shrimp & fried conch appetizers. They were OK, but the portions were small and overpriced so I wouldn't recommend them. For the entrees, we tried the blackened sword fish & seafood platter, which were delicious.

Aaron, we went to your place every night but one, while in town, wish we had that other night back, as we tried somewhere else. I was singin' the blues the night you were closed. Greg at Courtesy rentals recommended you, as we drove by . Turns out his nephew works for you, or did, last spring (Devon). We'll be back in a few weeks....more blackened anything for me. BTW, your recommendation on Prudommes's redfish and safflower oil was spot -on. Not like yours, but hey off my grill, it's good. -Mike and Stacy --Texas

Tasty food - fish is very fresh tasting. Staff was incredibly friendly. Great local vibe. Prices consistent with other restaurants in Cruz Bay.

The best blackened Wahoo I've had anywhere in the islands. I usually go to Woody's for Happy Hour 3 to 6 p.m. dinner at the fish trap, then on to Fred's backyard for reggae or steel drum music and dancing.

This small, inconspicuous restaurant is the spot for a tasty fried meat pie breakfast. It's usually packed with locals, who come here for a quick and cheap meal. The pies are delicious, and the hospitality is excellent.
In the morning, before we hopped on the VITRAN bus to Saltpond (1/4/24), I popped over to Hercules Pate for some saltfish pate and Johnny cakes. We packed them up for our eventual lunch, which we ate at the top of Ram Head. Even after the bus ride and hike, the pates were still lightly crisp, and very flavorful—the food packed very well. The Johnnycakes were like delicious savory doughnuts! Pricing was super reasonable. Places like Hercules Pate are great options for families visiting the island on a budget, or anyone else looking for authentic local cuisine. I’m told Hercules sells out by mid-day. There was plenty available when I arrived in the morning, but even if you’re thinking lunch, it might be best to buy your Hercules pates in the morning.

Pate Delights!! I was told about this place by locals. If you are into fried meat pies, this is the place. Nice Distinguished Lady fixes you up. They have beef, chicken and fish pates (meat pies). She also has Johnny Cakes which is just fried dough. She has whole fried fish, or chicken breasts. I paid $4 per pie. Overall they are a good cheap breakfast item.
