Rincon

Rincón is a town on Puerto Rico’s west coast, known for its beaches. Punta Higuero Lighthouse overlooks Domes Beach, with its pounding surf. Central Sandy Beach is lively. Steps Beach is the site of Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, home to parrotfish and hawksbill turtles. South along the coast are quiet Caribbean beaches like Corcega. Offshore, coral reefs surround tiny Desecheo Island.

Faro Punta Higueras is a picturesque lighthouse that dates back to the late 1800s and is located in a scenic oceanfront setting. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the nearby beach, watch surfing competitions or simply relax in one of the many seating areas available. The elevated perch provides an excellent vantage point for observing the sunset or taking pictures. Local vendors selling crafts may be present on occasion, adding to the charm of this historic landmark.
Very nice lighthouse and park. Lots of areas to seat and/or just admire the beautiful beach nearby. We were lucky to see whales!!! Also, there was a surfing competition the same day we were there, so it was nice to watch it for a while. There were local vendors on the parking lot selling crafts. I'm not sure if it is always there or just because of the surfing competition. Anyway, nice place to stop by, take pics and enjoy the views!

This was a beautiful place to stop at and enjoy the view. When we went there was a surf competition at Domes. We loved visiting this place and even had a sangria before we continued our trip. There were artisans and even and ice cream stand like the ones you would find at the beach.

Beautiful location with food and drinks! Descend to a surfers beach or casually watch the surf and sunset from the elevated perch.
james mcvicker — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. The best location in PR for sunset lovers. This place is well thought. There is a walkway around the lighthouse and over the cliff with great views, no matter where you stand. Food and drinks are available at the restaurant or you can bring your own. Plenty of parking. Drone friendly. No fee. Access to the lighthouse not possible. No reservations necessary. Short walk from the parking to the lighthouse. Best sunsets ever!
Orlando Vanegas — Google review
Beautiful lighthouse and amazing views. Def worth the visit.

Wonderful Views and Experience. If you are visiting the West Side of Puerto Rico, you have to make a stop on each of the lighthouses of the West. But the most impressive of them all, is the Punta Higueras. The view from this place is spectacular, you can see the Mona Island from the place and also, you can enjoy the nature’s view and scenery around. There is also spots where you can enjoy with family and friends and have a good time while enjoying your surroundings. Very amazing place.
Frank Sawyer — Google review
Great lookout point to enjoy some breathtaking views of the ocean. If you really want to indulge yourself visit for a sunset. There is food/drinks available and Domes beach is just a short walk away.
Luis Diaz — Google review
Puntas beach next to playa domes is absolutely gorgeous! Was about a 3-5 min walk down the beach and some light climbing over a few rocks to get to but was a very secret beautiful beach! Tons of landscape that’s pretty and the waves sound amazing. While walking down beach could see some tents in the tree line of some campers so seems like a great relaxing unofficial camping spot!
Jay Diamandis — Google review
Beautiful lighthouse with beautiful views! I highly recommend coming here to see the sunset!
Brandy Purdon — Google review
We enjoyed it a ton! And just incase you can’t see the video down below here is what we had to say! “Get ready for a journey through time and beauty at the Punta Higuera Lighthouse, just a quick 9 minute drive from Container Coquí. It's that perfect place to hang out and watch that amazing Rincón sunset. Grab a drink at the restaurant on site and stare out at the surfers riding the waves in Dome's Beach. There's no lighthouse quite like this one.”
Jesse Colon — Google review
Beautiful views, the visit is less about the lighthouse although it's an interesting relic. There were humpback whale breaches spotted from the boardwalk bar. A very easy and pleasant beach path with multiple access points. Wonderful way to spend a couple of hours
Bryan Blankenship — Google review
Spectacular spot to watch the sunset! We were on a tour which stopped here- it was truly an amazing sunset. Wish we had more time to explore. Some folks in my group also loved the ice cream being sold at the entrance to the deck of the lighthouse.
Monet Shepherd Otero — Google review
There are no tickets for this place it is free to go look at. You can not go in, but the scenery around there is beautiful, and the bar is nice, and they have good snack foods, but I hope you use venmo or cash.

The west coast of Puerto Rico never fails to show her beauty! Easy to find, plenty of parking space and gorgeous views!
Elizabeth Acevedo — Google review
Beautiful historical light house, and the ocean very is peaceful. While we were there we spotted two humpback whales in the water. 🐋 We watched the sunset on the horizon. It was a great way to spend the evening. There is also restrooms inside the park and a small cafe with a bar as well.

Nice iconic tourist spot. Free parking spots close by. One restaurant at location and public restrooms available. Lot of food trucks and small local stalls for shopping. Free entry and you can walk to Playa Maria beach.

Cozy rooms in a casual hotel offering 2 restaurants, beach access & ocean views.
My family stays here every time they come down from NY. They love the ambiance, and quality. We had dinner outside near the bar to see the sunset and it was magical.
Cristina Serrano — Google review
Sadly this hotel is in need of major renovations. The rooms were clean and serviceable but EVERYTHING is OLD!!! The mattresses, pillows, the bathroom fixtures, the dressers. ll really need to be replaced if this hotel is going to maintain any level of high quality and good reviews. It has a wonderful location on a really nice beach so it should be able to be restored and renewed to its higher level of luxury. We first stayed here 19 years ago and it was in much better shape then. I hope they can bring it up to where it should be to warrant the high cost of the rooms, especially during holiday times. Als, while the bar restaurant is open, and there is breakfast onsite, the full restaurant is not functioning. They also need a shop of some kind to buy odds and ends and snacks.
Nadine Stern — Google review
Overall pretty good stay no issues. Hotel going through renovations but don’t worry it would not interfere with your vacation. Beach is pretty good, i recommend walk along for a little to the right and water gets much better. Service was ok, nothing to complain about but also nothing to rave. Room is newly renovated but very basic, bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way. Grounds well kept and pool and bar are great. You will spend very relaxing days there, plenty places to eat and drink around the area. No place to have a drink after 10pm on the grounds as everything closes early but you can walk 15 minutes to town. Also don’t miss the sunset, it’s unbelievable
Maksim Slavinskiy — Google review
I didn’t want to do this but, I think people need to know. Old furniture, broken doors and insects all over the room. We had spiders in the beds and cockroaches in the bathroom. The bedroom had a crazy smell like humidity. The lights in the bathroom where on and off by themselves and really poor costumer service, the worse, no additional clean sheets until next day and no additional pillows. Also, the air conditioner was really LOUD. Don’t fall for the pictures of the pools, everything else is really disappointing. Also, pools where really dirty. This hotel is to expensive for what it is!!! Don’t even waist your time.
Well Said — Google review
I am never one to write a review but my experience was horrible. The staff was great at the property, but it was a nightmare when the fire alarm started to go off at 12 AM/midnight, and did not go off till 2 AM. And then started going off again at 6:30am. As someone who works in the Maintenance/property management field, I am just shocked how no one was able to turn off the fire alarm, or maybe not trained. I almost left the resort after two hours of nonstop fire alarms going off but where was I supposed to find a place at 1am? I called the front desk and they informed me that no one had the key. And that’s not the end of it from 6 to 7 AM. They started doing renovations at the bottom floor. I am not sure what is going on but anywhere I’ve worked just common courtesy, especially at a hotel you would expect at least construction to start around 8am. Someone needs to manage this place better and do better. I was going to recommend this place to my company from Florida to stay but with my experience I will not recommend this place.
Jay Marrero — Google review
Beautiful property. Beach was amazing, and the coffee was strong and delicious! Staff was very friendly. Good food in restaurant too. Huge portions! The beach and laid back atmosphere is really what made this a great place. Our room was right next to the construction, so that was harsh every morning. They start working at 7am!
Michelle Hall — Google review
Definitely one of the worst hotels I've ever been in. They claim that they have a restaurant but they don't tell you it's only open for 6 hours on Saturday and 6 hours on sunday. So if you don't have a car to drive elsewhere for breakfast dinner or lunch, forget it you go hungry. The room has furniture that is so antiquated and scuffed up looks like they bought it at a used furniture sale. There's no manager there during the day. The only one there is the person who checks you in and if you have a problem good luck. Even the sales department can't help. They direct you back to the person at the front desk. At night, the security person, I'm told cleans up around the hotel at night. This is definitely a place to avoid and not that be recommended either for business or for personal family vacation time.

Such a beautiful resort! Infinity pool to the ocean with swim up bar. Staff was so super nice and hospitable. Great location, clean rooms with a spectacular view! Just, WOW!
Amber Dawn — Google review
This hotel is approximately 20 years old. Good location. Accessible parking. Hotel appears to be under renovation. Short on staff. The room was super clean and it had a balcony with a great view. Room was spacious. The floor had tiles. AC didn't work properly. Bathroom could use renovation. Hotel is right by the beach with a beautiful pool next to an outdoor bar. Restaurant is closed. If you want food, you can get some by the bar at the pool. Quality of service at the bar depends on who you are and who is serving you. Quality of food was better than expected and their prices were reasonable. Review is based on personal experience and items consumed during our visit.

I am on vacation with a friend of mine and we are having a blast...the pool is absolutely beautiful with a swim up bar...the ocean is steps away...the rooms are nice and clean and they come to clean your room everyday and replenish your supplies...this hotel is near the best bakery that we walked to every day and so near everything we have been to...everyone here is so nice!! One of my favorite vacations ever!
Deborah Haufler — Google review
This was not my first visit to this lovely hotel. It's as beautiful as I remember. Room was clean and tidy and we had a beautiful beach view. Breakfast at the Cafe was delicious, though the service could have been better. There were people who arrived after we did and had food and drinks decorated with garnishes and such, brought to them before us. To my surprise our mimosas did not have garnishes like everyone else's did lol. No bad blood though. The pool and beach area were really nice and we had the best time! Definitely recommend and we will be coming back.
Gabby JG — Google review
So a solid three star hotel. Pool is gorgeous, although drinks are weak. There is next to NO SHADE other than maybe 4 umbrellas which are hoarded like gold mines. The beach chairs have zero umbrellas. This makes enjoying sitting out at the pool or the beach near impossible unless you can tolerate the blazing skin starting heat of the direct sun.
Bill Niester — Google review
The food was good, service is dreadfully slow , cups and cutlery and are stained. Champagne glasses need to be replaced especially when they charge 38 for an 10 dollar cava. The servers are lazy and they hang around the empty bar 20 min before serving you a drink, even water, the place is beautiful but the lack of properly trained and dressed servers is sad and unprofessional, not train for american or european tourist...lets get these people train...Management need to get involved... I give it a sad 2.5 for the view

Nice hotel. The room had a great view. Pool is simple yet great for kids. Bathroom needs to be remodeled, but it was clean and spacious. There are rooms that are under remodeling, but didn’t heard any noise. Overall, I would stay again.
janet soltero — Google review
Overall we had a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean but are starting to show their age but it appears there are some renovations going on. Pool was large with plenty of lounges and umbrellas. Poolside cafe food was ok, I think it depended who was cooking. One night the food was great another night not so good. The staff was very accommodating and let's give a shout out to Aaron at the bar, he certainly knows customer service
virginia toth — Google review
Great location, right on the beach. There is a pool and small restaurant for breakfast/ lunch. The location is great, conveniently located by shops and restaurants. The rooms are dated. If you have a poolside there is a huge humidity problem. My room floors were always wet and no we did not spill water and we did dry off properly. The solution keep your room cooler? I'm not a huge fan of freezing ac temps and also not sure if that would have completely solved my problem. Service is ok, staff is friendly but woke up to the messy pool area. Leftover drinks and towels from the night before. Yes of course people should pick up after themselves, but even the garbage cans were overflowing. They did pick it up once it was brought to their attention. Check in and check out can be a bit time consuming, with only one person at the desk. Parking is included which is nice because we rented a car and no additional charges there. Each room does have a mini fridge and coffee maker and u get 2 sets of pool towels. The pool is a decent size and if you want beach access, this is the place to stay at.
Margie Garcia — Google review
We had a wonderful time! If you are looking for a reasonably priced get away with excellent service this is your place. If the staff didn’t have an answer for you they looked it up with a smile. Everything was no problem. The food is big portions. We discovered the suites which were magnificent. Aaron is top notch at the pool bar. He is friendly, attentive & guest focused. This hotel is lucky to have him! He most definitely needs a promotion 😊
Maria Chimera Halvis — Google review
The resort location is really great and service is good. All the staff is very cooperative and always ready to help. The pool and the beach side area is well maintained. Rooms are good and spacious too but there is too much humidity in the room because it's next to the sea. But the humidity in the room is so much that every morning we had to mop first.
Sameer Rajwade — Google review
It was not as nice as the pictures online. The floors were wet with condensation all over it and they had a dehumidifier in the room but it didn’t help. I feel like I’ve been in a better hotel for less money. The beach was beautiful which made it worth it.

Playa Escalera - Reserva Marina Tres Palmas is a renowned marine reserve and beach, well-known for its exceptional snorkeling opportunities. The area is characterized by a ruined staircase, as well as the presence of elkhorn coral and dolphins. This superb beach offers visitors an ideal location to engage in snorkeling activities with remarkable coral formations and vibrant-colored fish found close to the shore. However, limited parking is available, so it's best to arrive early.
Wow, Playa Escalera was a snorkeling paradise. I am so grateful I had the chance to see this beautiful marine preserved reef. If you go wear your reef safe sunscreen and be respectful of this stunning gem of nature🙏🏼.
Rachel Hannah — Google review
Beautiful place to snorkel and relax at the beach. So pretty at sunset ! We saw a lot of pretty fish, just be careful and wear water shoes too when snorkeling and don’t get too close to the coral reef or the waves could push you into it and end up with scratches on your body.
Catrece Hurd — Google review
This beach is beautiful but rocky at the waters edge. There are trees along the beach for shade. There are coral reefs here, so there is plenty of sea life to see while snorkling or diving. I recommend keeping your shoes on while on this beach and in the water. There are sea urchines everywhere. Parking is limited close to the beach, but people park all along the side of the road with no issue.
Bonnie Stone — Google review
This is the most beautiful beach in Rincon! But not the best for swimming. I would recommend spending more time at Sandy Beach then Steps Beach, but you still have to check out this beach! There is great snorkeling because of the coral reef off the shore! In conclusion, I would say that Steps Beach is the most picturesque beach in Rincon, and a must see attraction!
Andre McMahon — Google review
Excellent beach for snorkeling. You can easily get a shaded spot. The lip of the island is rock, so there is not much sand to stir up. The coral is amazing and close to the shore. Ton of fish with vibrant colors. Parking is limited. I added a video of the street parking and the small strip to get to the beach. Great for families. Nice and quiet.
Mindy Ramirez — Google review
Some comments might have already said this but this is not an easy beach for beginners. It is certainly great for snorkelling but getting into the water is hard with all the rocks, seaweed and sea urchins. Some parts of the water is really shallow and you come really close to the amazing elkhorn corals, which sounds great but also brings the risk of hitting them when you are swimming. Just look for a good entry point and get out from there. If you are not comfortable at swimming, you don’t have to be there even though it is great for snorkelling. Also, the sunset is amazing.
Alper Inecik — Google review
It’s a nice little beach with decent snorkeling since there is a coral reef right off the beach. When walking into the water, it will be quite slippery - that is coral reef you are walking on, so try to start swimming as soon as you can. I went about 30-40m in, following the reef, saw a lot of fishes throughout. The swing over the water makes for some nice photos too.
Akshat Agarwal — Google review
Fantastic snorkeling. The best spots are further out into the waves beyond the stone steps so make sure you’re a confident swimmer or have proper flotation devices. We saw dozens of types of tropical fish and several different types of coral - some were massive! Use reef safe sunscreen, don’t touch the coral, and enjoy the ocean scenery!
Austin Hartman — Google review
A great beach that is easy to find and worth visiting. It wasn't too crowded when we were there and there was a lot of space available in the shade. The only gripe I have is there is not a lot of parking and cars parking along the access road make it effectively one lane with some places having a steep gutter and little room to turn around. Other than that, I would recommend it and go again.
Tyler Oliver — Google review
Fantastic snorkeling!! The shallows are super rocky and lots of sea urchins but there is a smoother entrance about 50ft south of the steps. About 5-10ft into the water, the rockier part drops off quick and opens up more. We snorkeled and swam around tons of coral, rock and fish! Pretty private beach, no facilities but about 10 min walk from Marina.
Brooke Lynn Barlow — Google review
Beautiful little beach with minimal parking. Snorkel just 10 feet from the beach and see tropical fish and corals! Great place for families, and photo ops with the steps. Highly recommend to stop here and spend the day!
Brandy Purdon — Google review
Great place to catch the sunset. It’s quite rocky with sharp sea urchins along the shores, so wear shoes. Not ideal for beginners or little kids, but a great spot if you want to see marine life. Be mindful of where you’re stepping. Parking is extremely limited so many people park along the street and walk in.
S Thai — Google review
Absolutely loved this beach for snorkeling! It's definitely popular and parking is not only limited but super tight, but it's worth it if you're coming here to snorkel (I recommend coming early, like before 11a for the best vibes). We saw so many beautiful types of coral and fish, including barracuda. We could have stayed for hours.
Kelsi Hagerty — Google review
Fantastic beach hangout spot and snorkeling!!! Make sure you go in/out of the water by the main beach area, very rocky otherwise! Super quiet and peaceful!
Katelyn Retzer — Google review
Steps is another one of those beaches that holds a special place in my heart in PR. It is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Rincón that I've been to. This is a good place to go snorkeling if you want to see A LOT of life under the water. I found an entire Elkhorn coral garden underneath swarmed with surgeonfish, angelfish, goat fish etc. As a safety precaution, pay attention to where you enter because there are parts that I would advise you don't walk into from the shore. There are hundreds if not thousands of sea urchins (black spiky looking fellows) embedded on the rockier substrate and if you step on one, you will have a very bad day. This place is more for exploring than say a typical beach swim. It's not too far from other beaches that are within walking distance too. Parking is one narrow road that people park on the side of. Can be difficult to get in or out.
Squeak McPip — Google review
I think its one if the best beaches in Rincon for sure, every corner is gorgeous, every corner is beautiful, it’s a very protected area, please being your garbage bags and don’t litter. Very beautiful for photo ops, amazing to snorkel and see the fishies, occasional turtles, occasional jelly fishies, corals and everything else. There are some coves that are safe for the babies and the dogs. Amazing place.

Domes Beach, also known as Red Beach, is a popular spot for big-wave surfing during the fall and winter months. The area around Rincon on Puerto Rico's west coast gained fame for hosting the 1968 World Surfing Championships, showcasing surfers conquering the frequent 15-foot-high waves. For those seeking a quieter experience, a short walk behind the dome leads to a trail along a raised seawall with stunning views of lush tropical cliffs and the ocean below.
This is a really cool beach! It is mostly meant for surfing because it is too wavy to swim. But definitely worth spending some time here especially during sunset, to watch the surfers!
Andre McMahon — Google review
Low key beautiful surfer beach. Mostly meant for surfing but you won't be chased out for dipping your toe in the water. Soft grainy sand. Plenty of shady areas for those that don't want to be in the sun. No on beach vendors but there is a snack stand at the lighthouse walk. Close to other sites; Plenty to do for a day trip.

Beautiful, long stretch of sandy beach in a really cool neighborhood of Rincon. Palm trees on the west end for shade, a coffee/smoothie place across the street, and a restaurant on the beach. Our stay was absolutely perfect! The room was beautifully decorated with an amazing view. Everyone we encountered was kind and have amazing recommendations. The pool area was always super clean and quiet. The daily housekeeping was also a very nice touch as the big hotel chains have moved away from that. My recommendations as this was my first time here: - get a small crossover or SUV for your rental car. We had a midsized and it was fine but the property does sit on higher elevation and a large vehicle would have made the drive up a little easier. - Eat breakfast at the restaurant every morning - it was so good! - The town has a ton of great restaurant options. Make sure to ask the staff for their recommendations. They led us to a ton of great spots!
Michael Schneck — Google review
Seems like a touristy spot. Difficult drive for those that don’t like tight roads and hills. Security does help you park in the parking lot which is helpful. The view from the restaurant is great. The food is good, we recommend the French toast. Bacon was a great side. Great variety of mimosas. Can buy a pool pass if you’d like. Pricier than the local spots for similar food.
Mariah Teixeira — Google review
I had breakfast there. It was rainy when I got there, so I couldn't fully enjoy the view. It would be so much better if the weather is nice. The food was ok, nothing special. It's just a typical western style breakfast you can expect, which is why I took out one star.
Julie Cho — Google review
After a somewhat nerve racking ride up, we were delighted by the view, food, and service—totally worth it! I ordered the Green eggs Benedict, and my daughter ordered the Benny Hill. We also shared a side of caramelized bananas— a must try. Our waiter was very friendly and the whole place had a great vibe. Don’t miss the mint passion fruit tea!

Exceeded expectations. So tranquil. Great views. Thoughtfully decorated rooms. The pool is incredible and never crowded. The staff went out of their way to provide beach chairs for my fiancé and I. The restaurants is one of the best breakfast / lunches in town. Highly recommend staying here.

We were coming from just west of San Juan, and were initially deliberating if making the trip to the English Rose was worth it or not. It was about an hour and a half drive. That said... it totally was! The food was good, but the ambiance was the real winner. Amazing deck with a great view, the staff was super friendly, and they all spoke English. Additionally, they have an AWESOME pool. We were able to use it even though we weren't staying there, and we hung-out for several hours swimming and reading. Felt luxuriously wonderful. Totally recommend as it was a unique and great way to spend a morning/afternoon. Note: the drive up to The English Rose is a bit of a hike :)

Stayed here as guests and ate breakfast at the restaurant both days. Highly recommend both! Rooms were comfortable and quiet with gorgeous views. Pool is fantastic place to relax after a day snorkeling at the beach. Everything at breakfast was delicious. Very friendly staff. Thanks for a great stay! Note: location not walkable (fine for us as we liked the remote location). May be a challenge for 2WD cars if it's raining depending on how you drive in. Some hills quite steep.

This review is only for the restaurant* Location gets 3 stars because yes it’s gorgeous but anyone can have a nice view in the west. The parking isn’t well planned. I think this place might have been good years ago. We waited quite a while for our reservation. For which we emailed much in advance for a nicer table and got- the worst- next to the bathroom. All these things are nothing compared to how bad the food was. I got an inedible avocado toast (avocado is tricky so if it’s not good today just say that and don’t serve it) when the server noticed I didn’t eat it all they asked if I was done- not- was everything ok?) they were busy but the staff paid No attention to detail whatsoever. The rest of our food was sad - the last pic is of a shrimp Benedict with two little shrimps on the side. It’s laughable. The pancakes were the best out of all the meal and they were average. It’s pancakes. The only thing actually good was the freshly squeezed juice for the mimosa.

Finding the restaurant was a bit harrowing as you travel up, and I do mean up, some narrow and steep streets but it’s worth it. The view alone could be worth five stars. The food was wonderful. My husband had the Avocado toast, I had the Eggs Benedict with perfectly poached eggs and we both had coffee that was really delicious. I also had a rosemary lemonade that was the perfect beverage on a warm sunny morning. Service was great and the staff was friendly and attentive. Reservations are highly recommended.

Amazing food , coffee and drinks along with a beautiful view. Restaurant sits on top of a hill so captured a birds eye view. Their house made jam is *chefs kiss* delicious. One thing I will say is service should be improved to be inclusive to all races not just gringos. This is definitely something I feel Puerto Rico needs to work on as a collective. Other than that, I highly recommend!

Spectacular!! The views, the staff, the room, the food….all excellent! The rooms beautiful, the views from the room and the restaurant are breath taking. The staff of the apts are super responsive. But the staff at rest are something else, sweet, attentive, fun, pay attention to detail, love them all. Must try the surf and turf omelette, the french toast and the home made jelly! 😋😛 The one and only thing thing that needs improvement and I think they can work on it, is the water pressure on the showers, very very low. But for sure will stay at the English rose EVERY-TIME I go to the west coast! Thank for a memorable 3 days! 🥰

This place was just an absolute home run. Absolutely incredible location. Gorgeous views. Our room had such great little details…. Make up removal towels, dehumidifier, basket for your sandals. It was just gorgeous. Very intimate, we felt we were the only ones there. Staff was very attentive, sent texts, made sure we got in ok. We are 2x at the restaurant and it was amazing. …. 5 min drive to the beach!

Came for brunch - amazing views and great selection of food. Was very busy so recommend calling ahead for a reservation. Mimosa flights were great bang for your buck and we even spilled some of ours and waiter gave us more without being asked. Pulled pork Benedict was a favorite at our table
Alex Martin — Google review
Stunning views and the best brunch I ate in PR! The turkey croissandwich was made with delicious pulled turkey meat. You can order half sizes of certain meals like the eggs benedict - definitely try the pulled pork version! Cocktails are tasty. The mimosa sampler is delicious and a great way to try different flavors (like strawberry lemonade, ginger lemonade, passion fruit, etc). The sampler sizes are full-sized too, so you definitely get your money’s worth. Call ahead for a reservation because the restaurant fills up quickly.

We honestly couldn’t recommend a stay at the English rose enough! My husband and I decided to celebrate a portion of our honeymoon here and we are so glad we did. We had booked a room on the second floor to fully enjoy the view but for personal reasons needed to switch rooms. The management was so lovely and didn’t hesitate to be generous and accommodating to us. We can’t even begin to fully express how much this kind gesture meant to my husband and I as well as how it took our special trip to the next level. Not only is this property so beautiful and conveniently located (about 10 minutes or less to multiple beaches/ restaurants/ shops) but the staff is so warm and kind. We felt so cared for and enjoyed every bite of food, sunrise/ sunset, dip in the pool, and even playing with the pets of the staff/property. It was a dream stay for us. We will be referring all of our friends and family here! We recommend the Rose or Coqui rooms for an even further elevated stay!

The English Rose is a good choice for those looking for a quiet getaway in a place that is both off-the-beaten-path and centralized in Rincon, Puerto Rico. Located on a mountain, driving there requires going some steep hills and around some deep potholes. Once there, the view of the mountains and distant ocean is panoramic and picturesque.

An adventurous road takes you to The English Rose restaurant. I love to sit on the deck and admire the ocean while enjoying a meal. Ask what is recommended to eat and order that.

We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was phenomenal. The amazing views complimented the delicious food. Would highly recommend that you make a point to have a meal here while in Rincon.

Nestled in the Puntas neighborhood near Marias Beach, Jack’s Shack is a charming little hut that offers an array of fresh and organic breakfast sandwiches, fish tacos, and locally made Karibe Kombucha. The food truck is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, serving up delicious and healthy meals perfect for a quick lunch or snack. Their blackened local red grouper fish tacos with pineapple salsa are particularly noteworthy. Visitors also rave about their hot sauces, especially the pineapple flavor.
Best food ever. They clearly care about their ingredients not only is the food amazing but is nutrient rich and at a great price. The service is amazing and the quality of their ingredients is why it’s so great. It is also conveniently located right in front of the beach with fun surf. I’ve visited Puerto Rico multiple times this is by far the best food I’ve had there. If I could eat at Jack’s shack every single day I would. If you’re visiting Puerto Rico stopping at Jacks is a must!

Me and my girlfriend got a fish burrito and tacos and they were so good. If you’re by sandy’s beach and looking for a breakfast/lunch spot come here because everything is great. The staff and service is quick. I’d give them a 6/5 if could. Perfect location across from pools beach.

Great food. We had the chicken quesadillas and grilled fish tacos, and for the money they were fantastic. Pic of the menu shows the prices as of June 2022. Plenty of parking as well, which you’ll find is a challenge in lots of spots around Rincon.

This was my little slice of breakfast taco heaven while in Rincon! Though we had options to eat at other places, I didn't want to go anywhere else because their breakfast tacos were the absolute best I've ever had. They even get some of the cheese on the bottom of the tortilla and it gets melty and crispy which takes the taco up another level. So good! Try the juice! They have a few options each day that change daily. I had the watermelon one morning and it was really refreshing. Super convenient location, right across from Sandy Beach. Prices are reasonable too.

Chilled laid back great food served and cooked from a very chilled fun staff, all are welcome and will enjoy. The food is simple yet very tasty and preferred fresh to order. They accept cash or Venmo only just a heads up! Love the vibe and the food! 6 stars

Jack’s Shack was amazing! We stayed in Rincon for 5 days and went there every day for iced coffee and breakfast tacos or lunch. The food is fantastic and fresh. The owner was really nice, as well as all the employees we interacted with, and always offered fresh fruit. Highly recommend going if you’re in the area! The breakfast tacos are fire.

FYI: This is under different ownership than reviews prior to a couple years ago. We don’t have anything but rave reviews for this charming breakfast/lunch spot. If anything, we wish they were open 7 days a week😉 Once we visited this little slice of heaven, we chose to revisit for every available meal. The owners are kind and friendly and the food is (chef’s kiss) delicious. The hot sauce is small batch and since I can’t handle spice, I opted for the mild. It has a pineapple base and is a perfect complement for all the things. We’ve had power bowls, yogurt bowls, tacos and burritos, breakfast and lunch. It was all amazing!! We took it to go and ate it on the beach one day. And the fresh juice… get it! We had never had fresh guanábana or acerola juice but we loved it all. We had fish tacos made with rainbow runner caught fresh in Rincon. So good!! Did I mention the cookies? Get those too! They’ll sell out! Thank you for working so hard to create this great little spot for your customers! Cheers!
Shelley Shackelford — Google review
They served mediocre to poor quality food. I do not care about a chill vibe. I wanted a taco with actual fish in it. If you go to Jack's shack, then do drink the juice, which is good. I thought Jack's Shack was VERY expensive considering the meager quantity of fish served in the taco. After reading all the rave reviews, we were sorely dissapointed. Honestly; look at my other reviews. I hardly ever give a negative one!

La Copa Llena is a west coast favorite for wonderful sunsets and pork tenderloins. The restaurant has beautiful views both inside and out, as well as delicious food.
The location and view is unbeatable with direct access to the beach. Servers are well trained, bilingual and friendly. But best of all, the food was superior. My boyfriend's steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My fish was delicious. The meals were served hot, as they should. The beet salad was crisp and tasty. Drinks were creative and paid homage to local flavors (Parcha Martini & Elder-fashion). The music playlist was fun. This place is highly recommended for couples or families, alike.
Lydia Cerpa — Google review
We came across this place because it had a beautiful view. We really enjoyed our appetizers, the shrimp, tuna poke, and poached pears. However when it came to entrees the daily special of yellowfin and fried rice was tasteless, and rice was overcooked. we also ordered the NY strip which was actually a tenderloin cut and came out well done when ordered medium. We understand that it was busy and seemed understaffed, but server was slow. However the food runner was great and made up for her. For the price we were paying we expected higher quality food and service. The biggest failure was the fact that our credit card WAS CHARGED THE WRONG AMOUNT. I was shocked to find an extra $30 charge on my card than I approved. I took a picture of the receipt before I left. As a server myself, I would NEVER add extra to a bill no matter how I thought my service was. This is unprofessional and unacceptable.

Wow! What a great experience! My partner and I shared a skirt steak special, and it may have been the most flavorful steak I've ever had! My favorite places during our stay in Rincon. We had drinks at sunset here every single night. I was really shocked by the negative reviews on here because we had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. Drinks are phenomenal, well priced $8-11 depending on what you get. Food was awesome. Favorite was their tuna poke & desserts. Solid place if you want to do tapas and drinks.

One of the best meals I've had anywhere, and probably the best restaurant on the island. Everything was reasonably priced, including their cocktails and service was spot on. I see a lot of drama in the comments, about tap water not being served, people being singled out for being American or Local or for being too expensive because it's $2 for a side of rice. Doesn't make a lot of sense. In any case, if you're in Rincon, do yourself a favor and stop by this place, you won't regret it.

Love this place. This was our 2nd time back. We found this restaurant about 4 yrs ago on trip in P.R. and it was the best dining experience of that trip. On our recent trip to P.R. we drove 1 hour just to eat dinner here for our anniversary. It did not disappoint. The food is great, the drinks are great, and view can't be beat. Great place to come for a "date night". Come for a cocktail at sunset and stay for dinner. It's a little pricey but totally worth it for the experience and quality.
John Stansberry — Google review
We arrived at the restaurant around 7.00pm. The place was busy and we were told there was a 45 minute wait. We were invited to have a drink at the bar while we waited. The bar vibe was great with a mix of regulars and tourists. The cocktails were excellent. At 7.30 we were called to our table. The menu does not have a huge number of items, which in my experience is a good thing. Service was fast and cheerful and the setting is great (but it was dark by the time we were seated so I did not see the beach). I can highly recommend the prawn starter and the the fish curry and pork dish for mains. These all had fresh and delicious flavors. Clearly someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing. Highly, recommend it, you may wish to arrive early to avoid the crowds and see the sun set.

I do not recommend this place. Server one: she cannot recommend to drink tap water but we insisted to have tap water. Second waitress (when we asked for extra water): they cannot serve tap water, have to purchase water bottle. I ordered veggie curry but she charged me $32 for just veggie curry and the $32 same price for fish curry from which they remove fish and make veggie as per their suggestions. Good view and location. Recommend for drink and view but never for dine in. Rude servers and service but expect tip above 18%.

Casa Isleña is a laid-back beachfront hotel with simple rooms, an outdoor pool, and a bar and restaurant. The tapas bar offers a relaxed atmosphere by the ocean, serving fresh seafood and creative desserts during the prime surfing season. Located near Sandy Beach, it's known for taking American classics to the next level. The inn provides clean, comfortable rooms and attentive staff. Guests can enjoy surfing, beach walks, and even spot sea turtles.
We spent a week at Casa Islena and loved every minute! We celebrated an engagement and cannot express enough gratitude to every single staff member who went above and beyond for us! We love the restaurant, the location and of course the view! Walking distance to Sandy Beach, Pool’s Beach and a couple of great restaurants. Highly recommend!

We stayed in a room for 3 nights right by the pool/restaurant. The pool is unusable, you're basically swimming in a restaurant with people trying to eat right next to you which makes it very uncomfortable. Parking is horrible. You share the parking lot with the hotel, restaurant patrons, and a yoga studio. You're lucky if you even get a spot in the lot. We did eat breakfast there one day and it was good.
Misty Pellerin — Google review
We sat at 3 different tables wanting to accommodate their lack of service staff and were never acknowledged or waited on. In the end we settled for the dreadful bar stool eating experience. The food and drinks were as mediocre as the service and the price point off the charts. We won’t refer or return. It’s high season by the way. Good luck staffing talent. You need it.

A cozy place with the friendliest staff. Very comfortable and spacious room. Super clean. The restaurant was very organized in the distribution of costumers, particularly at the Sunday Brunch hours. Great food, generous portions!
zoe rodriguez — Google review
From the gorgeous pictures and description of your facility we were expecting a hidden jewel. Sadly, that is not what we experienced. First, we arrived very late. There were no directions on how to get to our room, just that it was by the pool. We did not know to open the doors and were fearful of waking other guests or going into a prohibited area. Perhaps for future guests, a map and how to actually find the reserved room will be included. Second, for the price point for a two queen ocean view room, it was disappointing. There was no place to sit and enjoy the view from the room—it was either sit in a wooden desk chair or on the bed. There were also no chairs outside, besides lounge chairs or restaurant chairs to just enjoy the view. Next, for the price point, hearing the kitchen staff bang pots and pans, sing at the top of their lungs, play music at full volume, and empty various containers outside our windows and next to our room from 7 am until past 10 pm definitely made the room feel as if it were in the middle of a strip mall and not on the beach. Finally, for the price point, a more peaceful and resort like feeling was anticipated and not delivered. The view, pool, and Susan from the staff certainly made our stay as pleasant as it was, although it was not at all what we had envisioned based on your website’s pictures and description.

Casa Isleña is paradise. We are truly blessed to stay every year. Love the staff, the food and most important, the hospitality. We had an Easter getaway and it was wonderful. Thanks you for making our getaway unforgettable. God bless!

Casa Isleña is our home away from home. The room is clean, comfortable and well appointed. The staff is super nice and attentive. The food at the restaurant was delicious and waiters had the right balance of checking up on us and letting us enjoy the location. The music at night was spot on for this paradise location and the people that visit all have the same relaxing and happy vibe. thanks and we will see you again soon.

The hotel is beautiful and the beachfront location is amazing. (The beach directly in front of the hotel is a bit rocky, but the walk down to Sandy Beach is only 2-3 minutes.) We loved having brunch and dinner on the patio with the pool on one side and the ocean on the other. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the setting is gorgeous. Live music on our first night was a bonus!
Eva Telesco — Google review
The hotel design is pretty and has beautiful beach views. However, the room was located in an area where many people pass and we had to keep the curtain closed for privacy which meant no natural light. We were close to the kitchen so there was a lot of noise from the staff since early in the morning. Although very pretty, it is not a peaceful hotel. The music is very loud until about 10:30pm because of the restaurant right next to the pool / front facing rooms. We were able to sleep because the power went out twice. The food is good at the restaurant but expensive. If you are looking for a hotel with a great party vibe and friendly staff this place works. If you want somewhere peaceful close to a swimable beach I would find another hotel.

If you want a party place, this is a good option for you. I was traveling with a friend on a surf trip and we did not want a party place. We wanted a quiet place with good food where we could chill, get up early and surf every day. This was the wrong place for us. The hotel itself is beautiful and right on the beach. We booked an ocean view queen room, but it’s actually more of a pool and restaurant view. We weren’t informed that there would be live music playing 8 ft from the door of our room every single night. The music was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves think. On Sunday, we returned from surfing to a full on Daytona Beach style party right outside of our door, complete with a dj announcing that he was already drunk at noon. The party lasted all day. After that we asked to be moved to a room at the back, which was much bigger and quieter, if not quite quiet. The food was kind if hit and miss and I think depended on the kitchen staff on that given day snd how busy they were. On Sunday (party day) it was burned. Other days it was great, though for some reason the owners decided to take all the fruit off the menu. They only open at 8, which is a touch late for people who surf and having coffee available before then would have been appreciated. The wait staff was nice. Overall Casa Isleña was just not what we were looking for. If you want a nice place on the beach, you love to party and don’t intend to get up early, this place could be great for you. It just wasn’t for us.

Casa Islena is by far my favorite restaurant in Rincon! I have been multiple times in my visits to Puerto Rico and am always blown away by the amazing food, service and view! I recently got married in Rincon and we had our rehearsal dinner at Casa Islena with 25 of our closet family and friends and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. I worked with Chris, who planned our event and was wonderful to work with. Every detail turned out perfectly for our dinner! We had a long table, family style meal, overlooking the most spectacular sunset accompanied by live music. The table was decorated beautifully with local flowers. Chris helped us pick from an amazing menu including appetizers, (ceviche and chicken skewers), dinner (short ribs and tuna along with roasted potatoes and a delicious kale salad) and desert (a collection of brownies and churros). Our guests raved about the food and service saying it was the best meal they had on the island. I am so grateful that Casa Islena was able to host such a special day for us! I would HIGHLY recommend the brunch, lunch and dinner here as well! Some of our guests stayed in the rooms at Casa Islena and said they had wonderful service too. 5 star review from me! I will absolutely be back!

Loved my recent stay here (older female traveling solo). The beach the property is on is fabulous & you can hear the waves lapping day & nite. My room was very clean, simple with great ac. We spent 8 nights at Casa Islena. The location was the best - views were spectacular. Great spot for surfers and you could hear the roaring ocean through the night. The area was quite safe. We were able to walk around the neighborhood to other restaurants and bars, at night, with no issue. The restaurant was amazing. We ate at least one meal daily at the restaurant, sometimes two - and each meal was perfect. Service in hotel and restaurant was outstanding and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and a good size. My only complaint was the beds. They were very uncomfortable. However, we did see that they were bringing new mattresses in other rooms, so maybe they are replacing the mattresses. All in all, if I have the opportunity, I wouldn't hesitate on returning to Casa Islena.

Located adjacent to the marina, Shipwreck Restaurant is a popular open-air dining spot in Rincon that offers a diverse menu of international cuisine for lunch and dinner. The casual beach bar also attracts crowds with its strong cocktails, occasional live music, and lively atmosphere until the early hours of the morning. Visitors can enjoy daily happy hours, food and drink specials, as well as a Sunday pig roast to savor the local flavors.

Really good outdoor atmosphere and food. This place had one of the best Mofongo Relleno. The waiter recommended yucca, so we got that with chicken and criollo sauce...amazing! We also had the Mussels in White sauce, salads, zoodles (zucchini noodles), fish taco and fresh grouper, all just as good. The hostess would not seat us since 1 in our party did not have mask, even thou we all are fully vaccinated and had our cards. Once we got all our masks, we realized the whole place had outdoor seating and we literally walked to the nearest table from the host desk and the mask could be taken off. While we were seated there, we saw several other patrons being let in without any masks, and that felt odd. Also, we were told that we had to be done in an hour and a half due to some other big reservation. We were a party of 5 and an hour into us being there we saw several new guests still being allowed to come in. So we tried to not make much of it, enjoyed the food and left!

Their jalapeño poppers are homemade and off the hook. Everything we ordered was great, and we ordered almost everything.

Accessible parking available. There's a lunch menu and a dinner menu. We visited during lunch time. Welcoming atmosphere. Very american style cuisine (e.g., burgers, hotdogs, fish and chips and more). We had burgers. They were cooked to perfection. There's a limited selection of desserts and some of the items are frozen (always a bummer when there's a lack of local desserts). We had the coconut "flan" (most local-like dessert on the menu). Large portion, enough for two or three. It was delicious; however, the texture reminded me of a pudding not a flan. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Staff was efficient and friendly. Review is based on personal experience and only the items that were consumed were reviewed. We always encourage people to visit for themselves so that they can enjoy their own personal experience.

Amazing place. Highly recommended. Great service. Great atmosphere. Food is delicious. Very good chef they have. Clams in white wine sauce were my favorite. Never had them better. Also the churrasco with chimichurri was delicious. The drinks are awesome. You get what I’m trying to say. Yeah. The place is a must visit if you are in Rincon.

This place is good. The Cubano egg roll was great, and the picture is of the Captain Jack burger, but the menu items are for a single item, no sides, which makes this place a bit pricey since you don't get a lot for your money. The food was very tasty though. Eating outdoors where the floor is made of rocks is kinda strange, but it was a good experience overall.

Louis was our waiter! Candy was our hostess! I wish we had both of them at every restaurant we go to! They both are amazing! Food was amazing as well. Place is great and well worth the visit! Would highly recommend

Solid experience. Food: The wings were on point. I went with the Guava BBQ sauce. These were the best wings I have found on the island. The blue cheese burger was missing something. I ended up adding the bbq sauce to just give it a little more flavor. Service: Great customer service. Candy served us during our visit. She has such a happy personality. She checked in with how we were doing but not too often to bother us. She really did a good job. Atmosphere: it is an outdoor setting. It is simple yet nice. The flys were bad but they did have a little table fan to help keep them away. I only saw one of these fans. Over all I gave them a 4/5 because of the burger missing something and the flys and the price was pretty expensive for lunch.

My husband and I recently had dinner there and it was amazing!! Great drinks, and delicious food while dining “Al fresco”, in a great atmosphere. The waitress was on it and drinks and Food came out hot and on time! We shared the blistered shishito peppers app, YUM, and a salad. Then we both had the fresh grouper, portions were huge, wish we were hungrier but happy to take the rest home. All in all it was a great night and would definitely recommend dining there!!

The menu specials are the best on the island! The perfect blend of flavors and texture in a proper serving is extremely appreciated! Plus key lime pie!!!

Heard about this place when we were at another establishment within a mile or so, everyone said the food was awesome and that we had to try it. 2 nights later and we tried it out. First of all the staff is very friendly. They told us about the menu and different specials etc. My wife got the New York steak with the rub and it was awesome, asked for medium rare and it came out medium rate and the taste was perfect, no sauce needed for flavor. I got a special, the rainbow fish, again, cooked perfectly and the serving size was great. Definitely going to come back and try out other dishes.
