Bar
Sunset Bar and Grill, located near Maho Bay Beach, has become a well-known destination for tourists and airplane enthusiasts alike. The beach is situated close to Princess Juliana International Airport, providing the perfect opportunity to witness planes landing and taking off only a few feet above your head. Sunset Bar and Grill offers delicious food and drinks, including aviation-themed pizzas. Visitors can also reserve lounge chairs by their new pool for a nominal fee of $10.
Oh, Maho Beach in St. Maarten. What a great place to watch the low-flying planes land, grab a bite to eat, drink amazing frozen adult beverages, shop, and take a quick dip in the ocean in crystal blue waters. This is all open air seating, but was very comfortable. We all ate burgers.. that's about all I can say for that. There was a local dog roaming around the tables not bothering anyone, which we found to be enjoyable. The service was fantastic, the location and views could not possibly be much better, the burgers could use some work. Although, I would definitely be a regular if I lived nearby. There are also shops attached to the Bar and Grill. I recommend that the best seats are near the main bar along the edge of the water.

Food was typical American Style Beach food fare. Drinks weren't overloaded with alcohol, which suits my needs just fine. They don't rush you to leave. A great viewing area of planes landing. Go late morning by 11 am to grab the best seat, but plan on being there until 2 pm to see your 1st larger plane land. I recommend the drink BBC for the ladies. 👌🏼 My son got a mock tail which was good. Pizza was average, nachos, average, and wings, average. Price are amazing, considering the location. Lunch for 3, and we got 2 of the refillable cups for frozen drinks (just the one drink) and a mock tail for $75. Half of that was on drinks. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant.

This was the one restaurant I knew I wanted to go to when I booked my trip to St. Martin. It was truly better than I expected. We happen to get the best seat in the entire restaurant. Timing is everything. The food was delicious. The service was great. the views were breathtaking. We sat there and had conversations with so many people around us as we watch the planes come in. It was truly a great time. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. You cannot go to St. Martin and not visit this restaurant with a beach right next to it parking free with validated parking pass. It was super easy to get to there was not a wait.

Okay, so this restaurant was great but for the experience this is 5+ stars. I didn’t even take that many pictures! But having the planes fly by and take off was quite fun to see, we ordered burgers and pizza, and of course buckets of beer. The staff were very friendly and hard working to keep hundreds of people happy.

Go to Sunset Bar for the incredible, stunning view of Maho Beach and planes landing at Princess Juliana Airport. The view over the teal blue water is beautiful and becomes uniquely captivating as planes approach to land at the airport. We enjoyed seeing a dozen planes both large and small over lunch. Food purchase is required for a table along the waterfront. We enjoyed the "Air France" pizza and salad. Much of the menu is appropriately airport themed which adds to the fun.
Stephanie Scott — Google review
It’s a beach bar with fun views of the planes landing. The day we went a lot of cruise ships had docked so the beach and restaurant was mobbed. We did find a table overlooking the water and had a nice lunch of typical bar food. Our server was great.
Chris Amstutz — Google review
Stopped here while waiting for the big airlines to come in. The bar has a list of when the big planes are landing for maho beach. They have buckets of beer with all sorts of different types of food. It was very busy while we were there but was able to get a stop overlooking the water, get there early if possible. Service was a tad bit slow but they were busy so it was on par with what's you'd expect. Glad we stopped by

Only got nachos, they we’re definitely edible, but nothing to write home about. Drinks were awesome and planes landing right next to the restaurant was supercool! Highly recommend this place, wished we had ordered more food so I could give better review on food. Little shop connected to restaurant was was nice and had really cool souvenirs!

Nice casual dinner after dark with pretty views of well-lit buildings and incoming aircraft. Service was quick and friendly, huge tasty salad reasonably priced. Awesome place to visit during the day with its outstanding views of aircraft flying over the ocean and beach to land at Princess Juliana International Airport.
Lisa Marquis — Google review
If you get a table on the side, you have the prime spot for the plane landing watching. And to be honest, that's what you are there for. The service was pretty good and the staff was really hard working. The pizzas were surprisingly good. Otherwise, the decor and the menu is quite a basic American beach bar (think senor 🐸).

Amazing location on a beautiful bay right near the airport landing strip. Planes come so close to your head with final approach being right over the ocean. Service and food is fantastic at reasonable prices considering scenery and location. Would "highly recommend"!!

Awesome place to people and airplane watch!! We took a cab ride over from the cruise port. Ate a small lunch, had a few cold ones and just enjoyed the Island life. Definitely a fun spot. If you’re not doing an excursion get yourself over here!!!

Great place to relax and enjoy the views of the water and airplanes landing at the airport next to it. Cheese steak sandwich is good. Beer bucket is good price.
Shari — Google review
There is nothing better than a sea side restaurant with a wide open view of the sea and the beach. Add in the fact of seeing huge jetliner airplanes ✈️ coming in to land so close, it feels like you can touch them, and you have a one of a kind spot. The food and service was OK, but this place was busy at the time of day we went. Lunch time between 11am-3pm is when the planes come in for landing, so they get really busy during those hours.
Jacqueline Mosley — Google review
Food was beach bar food. Not the best and definitely not the worst. Check the airlines flight schedules (large planes arrive usually in the early afternoon). Arrive at beach by 11 am to get a table at the rail to have the best view. If on a cruise leave at least an hour before the time you need to board.
James Farris — Google review
We always enjoy this Maho Beach bar while watching the planes. We enjoyed cold local beers and Pina Coladas, as well as one of their fresh made pizzas. Excellent service from Fred.
George Renard — Google review
Such a fun, chill, laid back beach bar vibe! We went there around lunchtime to watch the planes land. The best view to watch the planes land right next to Maho Beach. We did not order any food but ordered drinks which were decent. I recommend for the atmosphere and drinks.

It's a lovely to have lunch while watching planes land and takeoff. Great atmosphere, great food, and great people. Highly recommend going.
Rio the Aviator — Google review
Stopped in for a quick bite but tour bus was heading back to the ship so we could not order. Lot's of folks eating, drinking and enjoying the close landing of the planes. Really enjoyed the stop.
Ann Bolebruch — Google review
The water views with the incoming planes is something you need to see! I wouldnt say this was a relaxing beach - lots of people & obviously noise. But a great stop for lunch & pics.

Da Waterhole is a caribbean restaurant located on Mullet Bay Beach. The restaurant offers a Changing Room, Shower, Toilets, and Lockers. The food was delicious, and the bar was great. The service was clean and great.
Beautiful beach and turquoise water. Food was delicious. Great bar and covered dining. Clean and great service. You can use the wifi but waiters have to put password in your phone in order to restrict to customers. Would return. Only inconvenience is $2 charge per bathroom use or $6 for the day.

The most beautiful clear beach I have seen. The chairs are $20 for two chairs with a table. They even Tilt the umbrella for you as the sun starts to set as it sets on the beach. We did not stay until sunset as we came early. The drinks were good but the coffee is not the best. The water is so clear and you can also bring your own umbrella as there are so many free secluded spots. It is a huge bay so you have endless choices. There are rocks so be sure to bring your snorkel to explore underwater and a shoe to use for that. Bring your frozen cold water and towels.

If you’re American please read this: Yes, they take cards but please be sure to tell the server b4 checkout that you’d like to add a tip. Unlike America, it doesn’t automatically print this section in the receipt. You must tell the server how much you’d like to add before you swipe… or please tip in cash. These people are so friendly and hard working & deserve to be tipped ❤️ Listen. This is the best food I had in St. Maarten. I’d had been eating on the French side eating lifeless, salt less food and this place restored all hope in life again. This food also restored me!! I was on that hot mullet bay beach low on nutrients & water. The non alcoholic slushy I had & This food though!! Let’s give the break down. The blazing chicken: so flavorful. I didn’t need to add any salt or pepper. No extra anything. It was juicy. Well cooked. Well marinated. I loved it. Rice and peas: this is the best rice and peas I ever had. No lie. It was moist not dry but had great flavor to it. A spice to it. I could’ve ate this alone and did ! I’m coming back to Sint Maarten after just leaving and this is my non negotiable spot to go to. BEST FOOD ON THE ISLAND. I haven’t had to taste every spot on the island to say that. I feel it in my spirit that this is the one. I can still taste this food til this day!! I did order more vegetables as you see these are skimpy but they were fresh vegetables. Nothing frozen. Steamed well. Loved ittttt. Go here! And go here now!

Good food and great beach on the island (2nd time here). Definitely recommend if you're going to Mullet Bay. The jerk ribs & chicken combo, as well as the grouper fish & chips are great (see photos).

I think this spot was the best Beach Bar in St. Martin!!! Aside from a clean beach and the crystal clear Caribbean waters that you are guaranteed to spend all day in and out of they have a great setup on the beach. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, order food, have drinks, and really enjoy your beach day without any hassles. Definitely try the OXTAILS, Garlic Shrimp, 2lb Lobster and Red Snapper which were all incredible and very filling! The entire STAFF is amazing as well! They do a great job of keeping everyone smiling and full of drinks!!! They're open till about 8:00PM depending have A DJ most nights and play music all at the bar.

Really enjoyed stopping here after a long day traveling around the island. Staff was very kind and helpful and the view was gorgeous. Nice atmosphere 👌 I got a Bloody Mary and the lobster with sweet potato fries and veggies. Everything was really tasty, though a few fries were just a bit undercooked. Loved the drink and fresh lobster!

Mullet Bay Beach is simply magical. Some of the clearest, bluest water I've ever seen. If you're looking for good food, drinks and vibes this is the spot while you lounge on the beach. Next door you can find slightly cheaper drinks but I felt the food and drinks were a better quality.

Perfect location at Mullet Bay beach, with beach chairs available to rent. We enjoyed appetizer platter and escargot here while watching the last of the sunset. Be warned - as soon as the lights come on, the bugs come out and love any food!

Went today and was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Usually, I am not a complainer, but I was somewhat put off by a couple of things. First, wanted to use their bathroom, but they wanted $2 first. Ok, I understand they don’t want non customers using their facilities. Then went to lunch and I found the food adequate, but both food and drinks were way too expensive. Tip: there is a snack shack right next door with drinks and food 30-40% lower in price. Ate lunch and we wanted the ticket split into two checks and the server said “you should have told me earlier”. I had told another waiter to split it and said he would tell the server, but must he must not have. The server became very belligerent and refused to split it. The problem was she never came over at the end to check on us so we had no chance to tell her directly. We have 12 more days in St Martin and they lost our business. We spent $140 for 4 people for lunch with 3 beverages. Not a good value.

Last night of our trip in St Maarten and so glad we stopped by. Phillip was absolutely amazing. It was my husbands 55th birthday and he took pictures and took care of us like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Can’t wait to be back and will definitely come back. The food and drinks were amazing as well. The Taylors

Very nice outdoor lunch on the beach in St. Maarten. Very good value. My salmon burger was a sizeable filet of salmon on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles. I added mushjrooms and skipped the fries. Healthy lunch!
Lisa Marquis — Google review
Exceeded my expectations. Food was very good, we had the rib eye and the red snapper. The sunset view is perfect, the only plus/minus is that it is a beach bar and beach people are lingering for the sunset, and its a little far off the road.
Doug “Doug789” — Google review
This is a beautiful beach! It had the most waves of the beaches I visited. The bar and restaurant are great. There is a beach bar and the restaurant has a bar. Let the staff know you have a bar tab to use the bathroom. They will charge you to use the bathroom if you don't use the bar/ restaurant. The drinks are great and I didn't get to try their food. $30 for 2 beach chairs and an umbrella. There is a parking lot near the restaurant.
Mark Dunn — Google review
Situated right on the beach. Beautiful sunset! They went light on the fish for the fish sandwich. The bun was overwhelming for the size of fish inside. We were told they ran out of french fries so they could not offer us anything but a fish sandwich. (Seems they were also running out of fish). Conch fritters didn't taste much like conch at all...very doughy. Service was extremely slow and switched server 3 times. There was one larger table that seemed to be getting the attention of all servers. The place was not very busy on a Tuesday night, but we had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. Waited another 15 minutes or so (too long) and went back to the bar demanding we were ready to settle the bill. Sadly, there is an automatic 15% surcharge on all meals so wait staff are not motivated to provide good service and diners cannot reflect bad service in their tip. Definitely overpriced for what you get. For a positive dining experience, try a lolo (locally owned and locally operated restaurant) or roadside BBQ....just follow the smoke!

The Jax Steakhouse in Maho is a stylish, sexy restaurant with delicious food. The waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the steak dishes are considered some of the best on the island. The only downside is that the lobster tails served as part of a main course were inadequate in size - but overall this is an excellent choice for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
Wonderful food and great staff. The decor is sexy and fun. Food was very tasty with a good variety. Drinks were amazing and delicious. The staff was very attentive and kept us up-to-date regarding our food. Great place to celebrate with friends and family. Steve and Seva are great people to know.

Our waiter Johno from NY was great. He gave us great recommendations, offered us information about the island and was pleasant. The food was so tasty the mac & cheese was so cheesy but not overpowering, the calamari was fresh and fried correctly. The rack of lamb was a little fatty, but my husbands steak was cooked to perfection. But the lobster tail that came with it was only a half of the tail so that was a little skimpy. But overall great place.

Best Dinner experience in Sint Maarten Our experience at JAX was amazing! The best STEAK and cocktails on the island!!! My steak was so flavorful added nothing to it. Even the peppercorn sauce that came with. The service was top tier. Impeccable even! Steven was our main waiter. He was friendly, efficient, funny, and he paid attention to detail. Steven was also very knowledgeable of the menu. He helped my group of 5 make the best selections for our palates. We can't wait to go back!! Our experience was unforgettable! Thank you Steven and JAX for the best dinner experience we had on vacation.

Based on the reviews I expected way more. We sat outside and I regretted it as we ended up next to people who were chain-smoking the entire time. I also felt like sitting outside, we somehow ended up forgotten. Our meals took forever to arrive, over an hour and a half and our waiter did not come to ask if we wanted more drinks, I eventually saw him and asked for one and he forgot to bring it, only realizing once everyone had finished dessert, at which point I didn’t want it anymore. The steaks were good, all 3 kinds that we had, the sides ok, bacon mac and cheese was the best one of the 4 that we tried. We did get a nice birthday cake for the person celebrating his birthday. Staff were all friendly. Parking in the nearby parking lot was convenient and only 1$/hour.
J D — Google review
Exceedingly efficient & professional service, the food was good but overall it was well over priced for what we got. We most likely wouldn't go back until we hear differently to give it another try. The service was rushed and though nice and not rude it was not welcoming but rather prescribed and assembly line-ish. For apps we had the cauliflower and duck, foie gras puff pastry...the cauliflower won hands down but served so hot it burnt both our tongues. For mains I had the filet with foie gras my partner the surf n turf. The steaks were both slightly over cooked (medium vs medium rare). The lobster looked like an extra large Argentinian red shrimp. The veggies (broccoli, asparagus, zucchini) were all over cooked and borderline mushy. The whipped potatoes we're light, tasty and nice, bit shouldn't be the best thing on the plate. The whipped blue cheese butter was probably the highlight along with the two Tablespoons of lobster bisque. The bread served was a bit under cooked and doughy. The dessert was lack luster, chopped apple compote on top of what tasted liked home made whip cream in between two slices of puff pastry... nothing to write home about. I understand the need for scale, but this was an underwhelming attempt...or a younger less experienced chef.

Went there for NYE. The food is very good. The restaurant was fancy but didn't have ambiance. We were told it's just a dinner. So we ate and left to party. See photos of the menu and the food attached. 😋

Nice atmosphere, friendly service. The meatballs to start were great. Ordered a steak medium and another well done (yes, I know), and both were cooked perfectly. The truffle cream to go along with it was delicious. Fries were good. Ended with the raspberry cream pastry, and that was good as well.

This place has some of the best lobster I've ever had. It was fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I also had the brussel sprouts and seafood pasta. I don't have one bad thing to say about this establishment. The staff was amazing, the ambiance was lovely and the drinks were strong.

Little Jerusalem Restaurant SXM in Simpson Bay is a must-visit for some of the best shawarmas on the island. The portions are huge, and the atmosphere is friendly. The Famous wrap with chicken and lamb, along with falafel, were delightful surprises - light and crispy falafel and a generously proportioned, spicy, and tasty wrap. Despite its unassuming location, this spot has won over many patrons with its flavorful food.
Great spot to stop in for. It is open air seating and has a great view of the strip. The owner is an awesome person, very personable. The food is amazing. The special plate and famous plate are extremely tasty. They also have a great selection of vegetarian plates too.

I love shawarmas. I usually don't find good ones, but I never imagined encountering a place with maybe the best shawarma I've ever had in my entire life! Haha. During our stay in St. Martin, we went there three times, trying three different shawarmas: "The Special," "The Famous," and "The Combo." All three were very tasty, juicy, satisfying, and delicious! It's a humble setting and the atmosphere is relaxing and calm, and the customer service is very friendly. Important info: They only accept cash. You can easily find parking, and the place is right near Simpson Bay Road. Also you can get there by taxi or local bus. I would definitely come back.

This place is the pure definition of a hole in a wall, or actually a hole in a container for this restaurant. I ordered the Famous shawarma sandwich, which came in a paper bag, you wouldn't expect much from the presentation, however, when you open the bag to unveil the sandwich, you soon realize you've made a mistake judging to quickly. At the beginning, I had to start carving through the sandwich with a fork due to the overstuffness of it. That's where the explosion of tastes happens! As you chew, you discover the myriads of spices, ingredients working in harmony in your mouth, the taste of the meat, the perfect balance of spiciness, the potatoes , the latus, the pepper, the sauce, the thickness of the bread, even the temperature was spot on. This man, has perfected this sandwich over the decades. On top of all that, the price was very reasonable. This place is a Gem. Can't wait to try the other items on the menu!!

We had the Special wraps and we wished that we went here everyday! The sauce in those wraps were amazing! We went twice. It is cash only though but it was truly worth it. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The next time we go to St. Maarten, we will try the other wraps. Yes the tables and ambiance were a bit on the dated/rusty side. But, we can overloook all of that just for those amazing wraps ♥
M. Noah — Google review
The food was well cooked and tasty. the owner was so kind, friendly and conversational. A bit of a wait to pick up the food on a Friday evening as the owner is the one who cooks every meal but worth the wait. The best (and maybe the only) shawarma place in the island.
Eve Ja — Google review
This is our 10th time back to St Maarten, the last time being January of 2017. We were excited to see that Little Jerusalem survived the hurricane. Without a doubt some of the best flavored food on the island. The menu is not large, but the shwarma’s are absolutely the best. The price he charges makes you feel guilty for the quality and value. Food doesn’t get any better than this. DO NOT let the container truck scare you. We had the Special and The Famous. Plenty left over for lunch the next day.
Kenlyn Gretz — Google review
Absolutely great food! We stopped in for a bite to take back to our room and picked up the Shwarma Special and it was sooo good! And for $10! Do not hesitate to try this place. Had others around the island for $15 and $18 and this place is so much better for less. Fresh made, quick service and the counter staff is very friendly.

Unusually nice place in an unexpected spot! Went here based on food-related reviews and was not disappointed. I had The Famousl wrap (chicken and lamb with some kind of nice melty cheese in it) and my partner the falafel and was pleasantly surprised by how light and crispy the falafel was and how spicy, tasty and generously proportioned the wrap was. The owner is a real character and welcomed a number of local regulars while we were there enjoying our time. Will definitely come again to try something else.

I loved this place, the price is very affordable, and hands down the best shawarma on the island. I also really liked the owner, he's friendly and chipper. A man that cares a lot about his food quality. We got The Special and The Famous. If you like spicy and curry, try The Famous. If you love smoked gooey Gouda cheese, get The Special. I thought they were both so good, we went back 3 times during our 1 week stay on the island. Also doubles as an excellent hang over cure, will soak up all that toxicity swimming in your body. Do not skip this spot!

Emilio's bistro-style restaurant is located on a historic sugar cane plantation. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with Caribbean flavors and well-rounded recipes. The restaurant features a classic Caribbean cuisine with known staples and flavors. The bar has a huge selections of rums, whiskeys, and cocktails to enjoy while dining at Emilio's.
We had an amazing birthday celebration at Emilio’s. This restaurant with history has such a magical atmosphere! We were warmly greeted by the owner, Norman who ensured our experience was not only a gastronomical delight but memorable and inspirational. Chef Sydney Prescod kept us wanting more and more! Every choice was a great choice , so don’t be afraid to try something different. We flew in for this restaurant and we’ll definitely return. Be sure to make a reservation because it may be difficult to get in. This venue is great for couples, families, and business meetings.

Nice and relaxing ambiance. Space is rather open and airy. Felt relaxed to done in that cozy setting. The food was very flavored, good and high quality yet not in our view super unique or the best meals we had on the island. We had the beet/goat cheese salad and charred octopus as appetizer and the snapper cooked in paper and molasses venison (no refined sugar). I like how they integrate making the mains with veggies vs. treating the veggies as sides added on the plates. Overall lovely experience.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. My husband and I are visiting for our honeymoon and we dined here on our 2nd night. The ambiance is amazing and perfect for a couple or group of adults. It’s a truly beautiful space with a lot of history and we had an opportunity to speak with the owner, who was quite lovely. We chose the 3 course dinner and I have to say it was all great…especially the octopus app. The entire staff is spectacular and they do a great job taking care of their guests. We will certainly be back the next time we visit the island…do not miss this restaurant if you’re looking for a beautiful place to dine!

Located on the Dutch side of the island. Beautiful dining experience at Emilio’s. Every dish was excellent. We truly enjoyed our fares and their mixed drinks were one of the best we ever had. You can randomly pick anything in the menu and end up with a delicious, flavorful dish. Do not skip the desert. You will miss out. Will come back when we return to visit St. Maarten.

During my holidays in sint maarten, I had the opportunity to dine at Emilios. This place is very charming and peaceful, ideal for eating. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. The food was delicious with an excellent sélection of wines. A meal of great quality and a very good time ! If you go to Sint maarten, go there ! 🙂

Thank you so much for an incredible birthday celebration! From the exceptional service by Jermain, the absolutely scrumptious dinner by Liam, to the gorgeous property! We had the grilled watermelon salad, my husband had the filet with white chocolate mashed potatoes and I had the breast of duck with truffle mashed potatoes and red wine reduction, all so delicious! For dessert we had the grand mariner panna cotta with dark chocolate sauce, I mean WOW!! The whole restaurant sang to me!! The grounds and restaurant are just gorgeous! What more can I say? Skip going to Grand Case and go here instead, you will not be disappointed! Also, parking is plentiful! Thanks so much again! Neal & Laurie

This review is long overdue. My girlfriend and I visited Emilio’s this past December as it came highly recommended. It lived up to the hype in every way. Great atmosphere for a relaxing dinner date. The staff was polite and helpful. The drinks were good and the dinner portion size was on point. Tasty steak and sauce to go along with it. Enjoyed the mashed potatoes as well. The owner came out at some point during the dinner to check on us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. This is something that fewer and fewer restaurants do that I highly respect and love. It really gives it a personal feel and classy touch. We look forward to going back to Emilio’s on our next trip down…

The historical location and ambience was excellent. The pumpkin soup was good as were the beef short ribs. I found the service to be slow and inattentive. The pan seared duck was very tough and hard to eat, I had to send it back. I had the Apple crisp for dessert, which was delicious.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here (8/17/23) and ABSOLUTELY nothing disappointed us. The service, food, and atmosphere was outta this world and we are thrilled we chose THIS place to celebrate such a big time for us. 🎉 Honestly , we would have made two reservations for the week we were there in hindsight. Marianela was so incredible and hope to come back again !

My husband and I went to Emilio's on the last day of our honeymoon. We started with some drinks and the baby lobster and shrimp appetizer and both had the salmon for dinner. You could tell that each dish was hand made with care. The food was superb and the drinks very unique. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. When we first walk led in we were greeted by the owner. When we left, the owner walked us out. If we make it back to the island of Sint Maarten, we will definetly be going back to Emilio's.

We went for the Sunday brunch. Marvelous location, great food and exceptional service. We'll be going back for dinner on our next trip to SXM. 2024-02 ...aaand we had a great dining experience as well. Tenderloin perfectly cooked. The Duck Spring rolls were hared so the picture is only my share of the plate. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Recommended!

The ambiance and service were 5 star. The menu sounded exciting but was style over substance in execution. The drinks were 5 star (the guavaberry smash had a nice complexity and wasn't sweet like most tropical cocktails and the martini was classically delicious), the apps were 4 star (we had the goat cheese and fish cakes which sounded amazing but beetroot salsa was more like a few pieces of roasted beet) and the mains were 3 star (the duck was criminally overcooked and the short ribs under seasoned). Overall we enjoyed our experience but would not return for the food. The duck was taken off our bill which we didn't ask for or expect, but is a testament to the service provided. It's difficult to give honest feedback in the moment without just sounding like a complaining shrew. We did let the server know that the duck was overcooked. There were 4 pieces of duck, I ate 1 and my husband ate 1 to confirm my assessment. And the other 2 pieces were left untouched. By contrast we ate the entire short ribs portion between us while conferring about it's being under seasoned but didn't feel free to remark since we'd consumed it. Although the beetroot mashed potatoes (although sounding exciting) were tasteless, under seasoned and cold...and went uneaten and uncomplained about. That's on us, we should have said something.

I came here with my boyfriend after being recommended to us by friends of mine - and it was an amazing experience! The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly and accomodating. We had a romantic dinner and the waitress, Maryalla was so sweet and took a bunch of pictures of us. Definitely a great experience - and it's so close to where we were staying at Divi Little Bay.

This is our favorite restaurant on St. Maarten. The food is fantastic (the cornish hen is pictured below), the drinks top-notch; the ambiance is upscale and relaxed at the same time. There's plenty of room, so the tables are not very close together. Our waiter, Diego, took excellent care of us - he was very attentive and made excellent recommendations to suit our tastes. Even the proprietor stopped by and chatted with us for a few minutes. It was a lovely evening! Ah, and there's plenty of parking! The estate is a bit inland, so there's more room for everything.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner. I had the grilled 8oz beef tenderloin that comes with the grilled veggies and white chocolate mashed potatoes. Very delicious and cooked to the perfect temperature. The highlight of my dinner, though, was the guava bread pudding. Divine! The duck spring rolls were very good as well from the tapas menu. Service was slow even though the restaurant was not busy. Would have loved to have a water left for the table to pour some for ourselves as we waited a very long time for a refill. Despite the slowness, the staff were kind when they were around. I like that they provide a pamphlet with some history on it.
