El Cora Crocodile Sanctuary

Mentioned on
Outdoor Activities
Animal park
El Cora Crocodile Sanctuary is a charming animal reserve that provides guided tours for visitors to observe various indigenous species, including turtles, crocodiles, mammals, and birds. The tour offers a unique opportunity to learn about the facility's rehabilitation efforts and gain valuable insights into the animals' natural habitat. With a friendly and knowledgeable veterinarian leading the way, visitors can explore the facility up close and witness crocodiles in their natural lagoon environment.
Absolutely loved our time here. Alfredo helped us and was more than happy to answer any questions. He even drew out the large pair of American crocodiles for us to see. It’s very evident how deeply he cares about these animals and I have the utmost respect for that.

For the cost of 300 pesos per person for an approximately 1 hour 20 minute guided tour, El Cora Crocodile Sanctuary is a must do. Juan (our tour guide) was very informative and had a deep passion for not only what he does but also for the animals. For those that may wonder how to pay, they accept card or cash. They also have bathrooms on site so no need to worry. Once you are done your tour, they have no problem calling a taxi for you if need be. All around, had a great experience here.

When I say that this is the best ecological tour (or tour in general!) you can take in Puerta Vallerta, I wholeheartedly mean it. As someone studying biology, it's hard to find someone who's passion for wildlife conservation matches my own. Cesar is so intelligent, kind, and tenacious in his work with these beautiful animals, and in saving what precious little habitats we have left for them. Please, go here and learn, especially if you are in the resort rows. Saving our planet and the stunning creatures who were here far before us is a never ending battle - you can help us, and meet some of the awesome wildlife while doing so. The tour takes approximately an hour, and is 2km long in a loop around the property. It was an easy walk and there were benches for breaks if needed. Cesar was incredibly interactive and hands-on, making this a great activity for parents to bring their children to. He gives tours in English and Spanish, and is fluent in English. He is extremely knowledgeable, and answered all the questions we had with gusto. I recommend closed toed shoes that you don't mind getting a little muddy. Prepare to have your breath taken away - this is not a zoo, or anything like it. This is an Animal Sanctuary, promoting true welfare for its inhabitants.

Really a great experience! One of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend the guided tour if you're unfamiliar with the native environment or want to know more. Alfredo was happy to educate and answer any questions we had. He and the sanctuary are pursuing a truly noble mission to protect animals of the area.
Raleigh Douthwaite — Google review
It was 300 pesos (MXN) per person for the guided tour, and it was very interesting and educational. There weren't any other visitors when we went, so we got the tour guide to ourselves. I can't remember her name, but she was very friendly and easy to talk to. She apologized for her English, but she was very easy to understand and was able to answer our questions and give lots of information. The sanctuary had several crocodiles who are unable to live in the wild for various reasons, as well as a pig (peccary?), some baby coatis, a baby raccoon and 'possum, some turtles, green macaws, etc. We did not get to pet/see a baby crocodile because she told us that the 1 baby they'd had died. 😭 They're hoping the male and female they have together will have more babies this year, but they haven't had any the last 3 years. She told us about how the crocodiles are being displaced by construction and tourism expansion, and how they're trying to buy some of the land to protect it for the crocs, but it's very difficult because land developers want to buy it, and they have access to much more money. The sanctuary is not funded by the government, only by admission fees and donations.

It was an amazing experience to see all these animals with the thought of them being cared for and released when they are well. I would 100% recommend coming here for your own experience and to help support all the animals in there.

An incredible experience, really kind and knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth the trip! All proceeds of admission go towards the animals

El Cora is a must visit if traveling to Puerto Vallarta! We selected the tour option, which I highly recommend to understand the rehabilitation efforts of the facility but also to learn about the animals you will see. Alfredo, the veterinarian, showed us around the facility and was very friendly and knowledgeable. There were several crocodiles in the facility which we were able to see up close. There were also other mammals and birds. We loved seeing the lagoon where Alfredo was able to point out two crocodiles in their natural habitat. A truly wonderful experience!🐊

Wonderful experience with a guide (who is a Veterinarian). He was so knowledgeable and had an obvious love for all the animals there. Not just crocodiles, but an assortment of animals who were in need of care until they can be release back into the wild, if possible. My Granddaughter and her friend, who are both Veterinary Students, loved every minute of the 1 hour walking tour. So nice that it is a Refuge and not a Zoo. Note: If you take a taxi or Uber in, be sure to arrange for them to wait for you or return at a certain time. It was difficult to get one to come in afterward.

My daughter and I are in Nuevo Vallarta for the last 3 days of our two week trip and decided to check this place out based off reviews. It did not disappoint!! Go here now!! Our guide (who is actually the veterinarian) is so passionate about the animals and how to teach humans the importance of responsibility when it comes to "exotic pets" and natural ecosystems. We both highly enjoyed learning about and interacting with all the beautiful animals. The cost has been upped to $300 per person, but it goes to a good cause and I would much rather spend my money here than a lot of touristy places. Thank you so much!!
Jessika Kasper — Google review
What a fantastic tour. I am so glad that this place exists to educate the public and tourists about the natural habitat of the area. So much of the natural habitat has been developed and this location will allow you to see what it looked like before all the development. You see many rescued animals and learn about them. Our group of 8 adults and kids aged 5-70 loved our time there. Highly recommend. Definitely go with a guided tour.
Deborah Reichert — Google review
Hard to find, might even be hard in a sedan in wet weather, but worth the trip. Make sure to ask for the guided tour "en inglés" as needed. I got more out of it as my Spanish is rough. Your funds go directly to the cause.

We took the 1.5hr tour with Juan, ... It was excellent! He is very informative, passionate and well spoken. We would highly recommend visiting and supporting.
Laurie Kinsella — Google review
El Cora 🐊 sanctuary was very very cool! We paid for the guided tour in English. It was so worth it! Our guide, Juan, was incredible. He was so passionate and knowledgeable. We could tell he really cares about the animals and birds in their care. We learned so much from him. It was amazing to hear about the history of the sanctuary, the area it is located in (plus to learn about the fauna of the whole of Banderas Bay) and the stories of the animals in their care. To learn which ones can be rehabilitated and which ones will need lifetime care due to many reasons, such as being blind and not being able to fend for themselves in the wild. The mangrove swamp there is so beautiful too - made me feel like I was in Africa. Or the Amazon. Juan told us that there are over 100 species of birds in the area. And many of them are in the mangrove water area. We saw some very cool birds as well as creatures in the sanctuary. We loved learning about the crocodiles too, their ages, their personal stories, how the young ones are released back to the wild and more. We highly recommend a visit to this sanctuary and will definitely bring more family and friends to visit here in the future. So glad we finally made the trip there. It’s actually less than 10 minutes from our place near Bucerias. We were surprised how close it was! We had been hesitant to go in the past due to the stories of the long bumpy treck in. But it really wasn’t that bad at all. It was actually like a cool adventure and really made us feel like we were entering a jungle to see the sanctuary. We will definitely be back :)

Amazing!! Wonderful tour with our guide who spoke fluent English. Cannot recommend enough. Legit place. Tip: Take an Uber though!! Taxi had to wait with us and ended up charging a lot.

Highly recommend coming here! It is a good idea to do the hour tour with the fantastic team, we found it very educational. They have some cool merchandise to buy also to support them.

What a wonderful surprise to find El Cora. Our guided tour took about 90 mins, but I could have stayed a lot longer. Alfredo was very interesting and knowledgeable. I have a new found respect of crocodiles. Driving up to the sanctuary was a little bumpy..but not to worry...So worth it!
Wanda Ferguson-Primeau — Google review
Very quaint sanctuary. We viewed crocodiles, macaws, egrets and several others. $200 pecos self guided. The road getting in is not paved. An hour is a generous amount of time to cover the entire grounds.

Bucerias is a cool little town and for our first visit here we enjoyed the Centro area the most because it is cleaner than other areas of town. There are several restaurants and shops in the area and even a flea market to browse! The beach is beautiful and a lot of locals hang out there. We will definitely visit Bucerias again.

We have lived here a few months. It was great at first, in the past two months we have been asked to pay rent early so the owner could pay her staff. We were robbed last week of all our gold jewelry while I was in the hospital having our first baby. Owner has since hired new staff but refuses to help us try and figure out who did it. Now she isn’t sending the cleaning people and is hanging up on my husband when he calls the office. I have never been treated like this in my life, if you stay here ask for new locks on the doors because everyone on staff has a set of keys and everyone staying here gets keys year after year and locks never change. And there are different people working here every day, here is a photo of the window that was broken into. Beautiful property but absolutely horrible management and owner. Also our neighbor got her car backed into and took months to get it sorted. Police report is in and hiring a lawyer now to try and get back some of the thousands of dollars worth of jewelry taken. Sad and frustrating situation. I’ve sent multiple emails about friends booking a room and she just doesn’t write back now to anything. Really sad especially since we have a newborn baby and should be enjoying this time in our life.

The place is run down and not as in the photos. Manager was EXTREMLY rude. They do not answer emails or telephone and are trading off of thier so called eco green credentials which are a stretch to say the least. If there was a zero star this place could have it! It’s also in a very dirty and unpleasant area just outside town and the town is also well worth avoiding. Best thing to do is donate some cash to a worthy charity of your choice and stay in another place if the reason for staying here was to support green and eco communities.

A blow up park in the water, what a great way to cool off from the Mexican heat. Took a bit of effort for the kids to swim out to the play structure from the shoreline. Lots of area for them to play on. One was out of service the day we went. Owner provides life jackets for all the kids. We went on a day where the water was rough, would recommend going on a calmer day, one of my kids got nauseous.

(Translated by Google) It is an incredible experience, you feel like a little child again going up and down. Although I went in the month of May, the waves were very strong and that made it more difficult to climb and go up the ramps and since everything is wet it is even worse, plus when you fall into the sea and try to get up you get scratches all over sides. The good thing about this is that there is always staff to support you and if you fall they will pull you up and explain to you how to do it.

I have been to a few Spanish masses at this church. I don’t speak Spanish but our church is so universal I know what’s going on and it’s easy to follow. The people were friendly and their voices in song (acapella) were beautiful. The church itself is so lovely, with the crucifix and our lady being behind the alter, and the carved stations of the cross all around the walls. Simple wood slat benches and padded kneelers. It shows some age but I love it.

This church is beautiful in typical Mexican style. Four daily masses is a gift and the church attracts young and old in the week that we have been here. We felt very welcome and the priests were really great, down to earth, full of faith and great catechists! It is in the heart of the downtown area where it’s easy to park and after mass go and have a meal or wander through the little shops.

Italian restaurant
La Postal is a charming Italian restaurant located on a street corner with a relaxed outdoor seating area. It's known for its classic Italian dishes like carpaccio and eggplant parmesan as starters, followed by their signature pasta dishes like 'Del Santo' or 'A La Postal'. The restaurant is famous for its wood-fired pizzas with thin crusts and an array of toppings, from pancetta to goat cheese. Visitors praise the homemade pasta and the variety of delicious pizzas.
Great service and wonderful pizzas with thin and great crust. We also had the mango gelato and it’s a “10” out of ten! As good as Florence or Zagreb.
DYJ1948 — Google review
The pizzas have thin, crunchy crust and they make their own pasta. The food was delicious but I wouldn’t recommend the drinks. We had a margarita and a red sangria. Sangria didn’t taste fruity and more like a watered down red wine. We did dine-in and also ordered take out a few days later.
Mina C — Google review
We were in the mood for a pizza and we asked a gringo walking by and she recommended this place. A lot of options for pizza, good prices, even distribution of toppings and very tasty. Homemade sauce and the best crust. Crust. And cooked in a wood oven. Friendly service and beautiful surroundings like a magical garden. The bench table we sat at wasn't the most comfortable. Quite an extensive menu with lots of food and drink options. Hubby had the strawberry drink and was very tasty but sweet. We'll have to go back and try the pasta. Looks delicious. Clean bathrooms.

This beautiful outdoor restaurant has the most exceptional atmosphere. The servers were very attentive and the food was prompt and fantastic. The Italian style of food was very well done. I had the bruschetta and added mozzarella, followed by the La carnivore pizza. My wife had a Caprese salad followed by their Ragout on gluten free noodles and we were both very pleased with the flavors. I will 100% be revisiting this restaurant and suggest every visitor to Bucerias do the same!
Jordon Shaw — Google review
The pizza was very good and we will order it again. The pasta did not blow us away. It's definitely better than mezzogiorno but not as good as Toscana Mia. However the location, prices, ambiance, and service was all very good. I would recommend this restaurant first if you're looking for Italian.

Mar y Sol is a popular beachfront restaurant in Bucerias known for its delicious Pescado Zarandeado, a local delicacy grilled with mesquite and bathed in chilies and spices. The restaurant offers good quality food at reasonable prices, with the option to sit on the beach just a few feet away. Visitors can enjoy live music while savoring the amazing Mexican platter and grilled fish.
Great place to sit on the beach, enjoy really good food, very friendly service and take in the scenery. Second time there within my trip, really enjoyed it.

A good restaurant in Bucerias on the beach. The food is usually pretty good and compared to other beach restaurants the prices are reasonable. The staff are mostly great and go over the top helpful (with one exception and the reason I would not rate 5 stars. There is one server that is constantly rude, doesn't allow us sit on the beach, and will take a ridiculous amount of time to serve us, and then will complain about a 10% tip). Overall we do recommend Mar y Sol but I encourage people to try the other restaurants on the beach as well.
Michael Rogers (NeeedNoRoad) — Google review
Went for an afternoon drink on the beach, we were seated quickly and given chips and salsa while we waited. They were good and spicy for a reason. Hard to get service for a second drink. Never did get one, as we decided to leave. Beach vendors non stop, most I've ever seen in Bucerias. Not a good first experience and I'm not hard to please.

We have gone here often, and have had some good times but tonight we went and the food was served cold and took over an hour to come even though they weren’t that busy. I couldn’t eat my food and I wasn’t going to have my fish microwave to be warm, we live here in Bucerias and brought our family that just arrived and are extremely disappointed in our service and food this evening. This family-owned establishment in Bucerias is praised for its great service, comfortable seating, and delicious food. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is impeccably clean and the staff are extremely attentive. The wife and I shared the tuna tartare, calamari and a cup of chowder. The tuna tartare was a huge portion and very fresh. Highly recommend! Calamari was perfectly cooked, crispy, yet delicate on the inside and the chowder was also fantastic. I have confidence that you would enjoy anything you order from this restaurant all at an extremely fair price!

Although the food would be rated as four stars, we waited over a half hour for our food. When I found our waitstaff, he explained that there was several large groups ahead of us. That would have been nice to tell us after the first 15 minutes of waiting. No one attended to our table after our order. We had the fish and chips and the burger which were both good. The fish was very meaty and the habanero sauce worked well with it. The burger was ok but the patty was mushy, almost like a veggie burger. The chips definitely could have been more crisp. We probably won’t be back.

Strolling down Bucerías in Mexico was fun once we found this place. Was very clean, servers were friendly and always on top of things. Please be aware no form of credit card can be use in here, you must bring cash. Food was awesome! Make sure to try their coconut shrimp. The guacamole is average as we have had better, but great to enjoy. The fish and chips was awesome to be honest and very fresh. I would definitely come back to this place for a second round. Portions were generous and prices were average for Bucerías. Keep on eating and have fun! Chicocares.

The food here was so good that I dove in and forgot to take pictures lol. Just kidding. We were dining with some local friends and I simply forgot. Ok, so the food is awesome. Service was great. Atmosphere gets a 3 out of 5 because of the construction and subsequent exhaust fumes from trucks. Not the restaurants fault but it does effect your dining experience for the next little while. This review if February 2023 so within a few months the construction should be done. Either way, you will have a great meal and great service. Keep eating my friends.

Best Clam chowder in Bucerias! Great food and reasonably priced! Good find, cold beer, no happy hour but all around good find!

Fantastic food and amazing staff. I had a wonderful time here and I highly recommend it. The staff was attentive and the restaurant was very clean. I started off with a frozen margarita and then ended up getting the shrimp salad and the fried shrimp and scallops. The shrimp salad was the winner of both dishes. Ended with the strawberry and vanilla ice cream and it was delicious as well. If you’re in the area, please go and give them a visit.

Beautiful little spot. Great service. Had myself some chips and salsa. Their drinks come in non alcoholic and I got a mango drink. Very fresh and doesn’t have a lot of sugar. The food was AMAZING. Ordered a fried Red Snapper but a large size so just keep that in mind. But again, came with cucumber, carrots, and rice. We had some entertainment come through and had a blast. Servers were amazing and very friendly. Had fans going so it was cool. For dessert, you should definitely get a cookies and crème gelato, it was very delicious. Great place! They also take reservations. 🙌🏽

Fish and chips were great. (Make sure to ask them for the malted vinegar!) Bacon wrapped shrimp delicious. Busy Saturday night, so service was very slow. We sat outside at tables set up on the road.

Café de Bucerías, located at the Refugio del Mar hotel, is a comfortable spot offering large portions at great prices. The bilingual staff ensures a welcoming atmosphere with amenities like Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The menu boasts a wide variety of options including delicious fish tacos, sandwiches, hearty breakfasts, and customizable vegetarian dishes.
Stayed in Bucerias and dined here often. Breakfast mostly but lunch and dinner also. Great meals, friendly folks. Really enjoyed each meal. Evening with lights over the street and sidewalk dining make a special memory.

Skip the refill coffee and go straight to the other coffees. There is attention to food presentation and the taste is agreeable to tourists’ comfort zone. This is not authentic Mexican food; however, it is hearty and gourmet-ish as an experience. It feels good to sit here and be satiated.

Only got coffee as we were walking around town, but it was good coffee for the price. Had quite a food menu that looked good, but we did not order any. So if you're looking for a spot for some morning coffee this is a good spot.

Look no further for a great place to escape the heat, in this beautiful ac restaurant. They have wonderful staff, very attentive and a great menu with vegetarian options (ask for vegan). I’ve had breakfast and lunch here, and the selection of mouthwatering foods is awesome! They accept cards, and you’ll be very happy you chose this place to eat at.

Excellent! Friendly attentive staff. Delicious well presented food, great experience! We had sizzling Flank Steak Tacos 🌮 on steamed corn🌽 tortillas and Grilled Mahi Mahi with mixed salad, rice and toast and a green tea each😀

After thirty minutes of waiting, the staff felt bad for us and told us there’s still no tables open but given the circumstances we could sit at the bar if we’d like. We accepted and sat down while waiting for a bit of time for our orders to be taken. Once the server headed our way we were prepared to order; however, she immediately informed us that they made a mistake and we would have to get up and wait outside about twenty more minutes. I feel there was lack of professionalism and accountability by the staff. Left with a negative feel for the place.

I spent 18 days in Bucerías this May and Café de Bucerías was one of my favorite places. I ate breakfast here many of my days. The prices are very reasonable and the food is extremely delicious! The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and the service is really good. I highly recommend Café de Bucerías!

Oooh Mama! For breakfast, have the enmoladas oaxaquenas topped with plantains - so amazing (house-made rich chocolate mole, not too sweet, with coriander and sesame.) Incredible flavors and presentation. Great ambience with beautiful masonry and brick arches; the entrance and interior decked out with local "parota" wood that has a beautiful dark varied grain. Staff were very pleasant, welcoming, and attentive. The lattes were very satisfying and nicely decorated with chocolate.

Excellent breakfast lots of fruit and beautiful presentation. Dairy free options for the drinks. Gluten free options for the breakfast. We had the breakfast croissant and heuvos rancheros. Reasonably priced kids meals that came with a lot of food. Every dish that was coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was delicious! Everything we ordered was great and so colorful! I’d recommend this place to anyone! The service was wonderful, as well. All the waiters were attentive, kind, and understanding. Beautiful place, delicious food, and kind people! You shouldn’t miss it for breakfast!

You can never have enough of this place. The food is delicious and the staff is extremely attentive! Oh! and the atmosphere is great. Had a lovely time with my partner at Café de Bucerías. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend a good time with friends or loved ones.

The best coconut shrimp I've ever had. Big shrimp too and good-sized portions. My husband's burger was huge and delicious. He ate every bit of it. I loved the cappuccino, too. Lovely atmosphere and very good attentive service with a smile 😃

We have safe eaters in our party which means that adventurous eating is not their thing. We found this cafe after I was heading to the local sidewalk restaurants. This was such a relief to those in our party that were uber worried about getting a stomach bug. The drinks were magnificent. They were really refreshing as we got the red and mango/Strawberry smoothies. The show stopper- the nachos. The presentation was like a donut of happiness with guacamole in center. They had gobs of flank steak that melted in our mouths, melted cheese and then random surprises everywhere (refried beans and vegetables). It was the best nachos I’ve ever tasted. The shrimp tacos were good. I had read the fish tacos were better- that would be my choice next time. The other burrito and the tacos were really savory and high quality. As I stated, it was safe and exceptional. I’d come back here next time with my kids- get those nachos!!!!! You will do a happy dance!

Restaurant
Karen's Place is a beachfront eatery and bar that serves a unique blend of Mexican cuisine, all set against the backdrop of a palapa or tables on the sandy shore. The menu boasts an array of incredibly fresh seafood and distinctive, authentic dishes. The portions are generous, leaving diners satisfied and longing to try even more, like the relleno. Whether seated indoors or by the beach, patrons can enjoy the ideal location and ambiance this restaurant offers.
March 19, 2022 Dinner: this was our first visit for dinner, and our party of 4 enjoyed a wonderful sunset as well as an excellent dinner and service. Lunch at Karen’s; always great quality food and service. Beautiful location on the beach. Lucky to have such a great restaurant in Bucerías.

Smack dab on the beachside - a fairly touristy spot with nice options for food (a little pricey but it IS right on the beach), and the usual selection of beers and cocktails. Tried a super strong and delicious margaritas with the avocado with prawns. Both fit the beach vibe perfectly. Also ordered nachos to go for our friends who devoured them after an ocean dip. Tons of toppings and jalapeños.

Was staying at Flamingos and decided to walk down the beach to Karen’s for lunch after reading the great reviews. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Had drinks, salads and the vegan bowl and everything was excellent. We’ll make another trip down there before we leave.

We had heard great things about this place, so had to check it out. Food and service were great! It's a little more upscale as far as food and maybe not so much a traditional place. Kind of Italian/Mediterranean/Mexican fusion? My only complaint is the drinks- absolutely terrible. They seemed very watered down and just no flavor at all. Huge disappointment

As a vegan I never have high expectations of a non vegan restaurant that has a vegan bowl on their menu. Well I was more than pleasantly surprised! My husband and I both agreed, it was the best vegan bowl we have ever eaten! First of all, it looked beautiful and the combination of ingredients and flavours were wonderful. Needless to say we ate every single bite and will be back for more! Over and above that, we sat outside practically on the beach - a beautiful view to complement a beautiful meal!

Oh my goodness!!!!!! Fresh fresh fresh seafood and some very unusual and authentic food offerings. This was MORE than we could eat. I’ll get the relleno next time for sure. The location is ideal, can’t go wrong either inside or beach seating. I love this restaurant. The employees seemed truly proud and happy to be there. I can only assume it’s because the food is so, so, so good and wow! What a beautiful location Gracias, Karen and thank you Mauricio for recommending. The beach is pristine and area totally laid back. I’m so pleased I dined here.

Delicious food in a very cool location right on the beach! Bucerias is such a cool and vibrant town, and we were so happy to have lunch here. The guacamole and fish tacos were both amazing! The food took a little while to come out, but that is just because they are busy and so popular.

Very nice place right on the beach, food was great. The service was also very good. A must to grab a snack or drink to get out of the sun!

Karen's place has been a staple of the Bucerias area for 25 years. It is a beach restaurant and bar that is definitely one of the bright spots of cuisine in the area with amazing views of the ocean and the sunsets. We have been there for breakfast, dinner, and sometimes just to have a drink and to take in the scenery. That all being said this place is expensive for the area but it is worth it with the level of food quality and the service provided. English and Spanish speaking. The owner (Karen) is usually on location and greats her guest with a smile and engaging conversation. If you are looking for a great or romantic evening dinner on the beach this is one of the main places to go in Bucerias.

We had Christmas dinner this year with family and friends, authentic turkey breast, mashed potato and sweet potato with vegetable and dessert. Service was a little short staffed, but we had nice time talking and enjoying atmosphere. They also put a lot of people for one sitting. Recommend booking weeks in advance.

We had a wonderful dinner here with 6. Amazing sea side table, the service was top notch and food absolutely perfect. We come to Bucerías a lot but first time here - will Be back for sure. Great place for gluten free options. We heard from others that when Karen is here the food is at its best. Well, she greeted and sat us, so we felt assured it would be great and it didn’t disappoint. Great time.

Excellent meal, excellent service and the view?? Wow. This place is fabulous. Had the Riviera chicken. Delicious. I will.come back here again before I leave. Edit: came back and had the filet Mignon. Green beans are delicious, mashed potatoes had a wonderful texture and the steak was not only perfectly cooked but was delicious. Once again, impressed. And once again, what a view. My favorite restaurant in Bucerias for the view alone. But the food is good too. Their steak knives are horrible lol. I could have cut it with a butter knife in the same time. That complaint aside, when I move here it will be a regular stop for me. Edit again, Gail and I keep comping back here. Always a good place

Brunch was excellent! I had the Capitán omelet. It had delicious shrimp, spinach, and a parsley cream sauce. The mimosas were cold and tasty. I definitely plan to return and return and return!

Great place to sit at a table on the beach and enjoy some delicious food and drinks. We had mojitos and I had a margarita and he had a Mexican sunset. We shared coconut shrimp and guacamole. Service was excellent!

A local fixture for quite a long time, Karen's was our "go-to" place on our trip to Bucerías. Affordable and family friendly, but with a super-relaxed, clean, and moderately upscale ambiance. TONS of options including locally-caught fish, one of the best salads we've had (their mango dressing is a can't-miss), and an assortment of vegetarian/vegan dishes. Our only regret is that we didn't try it for breakfast -- we will for sure be back next time! Only recommendation would be to clarify when the restaurant is cash only (granted, I certainly could've missed a posting somewhere). We were allowed to pay with a credit card at dinner on Monday night, but it was cash only on two other occasions at lunch.

Clean and tidy spot. The food is good - especially the fish tacos. The service is very slow and inattentive. Servers seemed angry I had to ask them three times for the same thing.
